100 lb. Club - Losing Weight in 2011!

View Full Version : Losing Weight in 2011!

12-26-2010, 12:30 PM
It's almost here!! I love this time of year when you can feel the excitement building. A lot of people are gearing up for losing weight in January, looking for some way to get it done, setting up a plan, and giving themselves a pep talk. I think it is awesome that so many people grab onto the determination to try and change their lives. I do wish more would stick with it all year long though!

What will YOU do in 2011??

12-26-2010, 01:36 PM
I want to lose 96 pounds in 2011. That would put me at 199 - a number I can't recall seeing ever before, and definitely not since becoming an adult.

12-26-2010, 01:44 PM
Since my massage & bodywork group is starting our pre-new year reflection & goal mapping tonight, I just finished writing out my goals for the new year. The weight/lifestyle change ones are:

Complete 5 or more 5k's.
Complete the Women's Running 1/2 @ Nashville.
Fit into a size 16 or smaller. {currently a super-loose 24/buttonable but snug 22}
Become a certified TurboKick instructor.
Lose ~85-95 pounds.
*sub-goal: cut my fat mass % in half or more
*sub-goal: increase my lean mass to 55% or more.

I will continue to follow my WW points plan and continue to go to the gym.

I will continue to work on my 'head' issues of weight gain and loss.

My K.I.S.S. principle for weight loss. Simple - yes, easy - no. Just gonna take it one day at a time.

12-26-2010, 02:07 PM
I want to lose 18 pounds in 2011!! :dizzy: Wow...I have never wanted to lose just 18 pounds. For me, that is profound! :carrot:

12-26-2010, 02:24 PM
I want to lose 20 pounds in 2011 (and reassess!). It looks so nice to say ONLY 20 pounds - I feel fat today - TOM :( Please don't flame me for that - I know logically that I'm not fat, but I still feel like it sometimes. As soon as kiddos are back in school, I'm back on my workout routine. Until then, I'll fit in workouts where I can. I miss my routine though.

12-26-2010, 02:49 PM
I want to lose 69 pounds in 2011!
Run a 5 km race!

I'm really excited about 2011 because I KNOW that it's going to be the year I hit goal, and will be my first year of maintenance!
I have 5.5lbs to lose from my recent low (so 6.5lbs from today) and I'm thinking I'm going to call that goal after the several re-adjustments down I've made this last couple of months! This Christmas has been so special because of the amazing weight loss journey I started in 2009, and 2011 is just going to be the icing on the cake (excuse the pun).
I'm now really confident that I can hit goal and maintain this weight for the rest of my life...

12-26-2010, 02:57 PM
I want to lose 80lbs (though I got myself some digital scales today and i am 204 not 210 which makes me happy!) in 2011 and get to at least a UK12 (would LOVE to be a 10 but I am very 'hippy'!
By the end of 2011, I would like to be a runner!

Be happy and work on my confidence and learn to actually like myself.
Bring on 2011!

2010 has been a great year for me... I have lost 40 lbs since September 4. I want to do just as well in 2011, but I am changing my expectations since I know that the weight will come off slower as I get slimmer.

So my goal for 2011 is to lose 78 lbs (from 246.2 to 168.2). Wow! I can't believe I typed that. I haven't been below 200 lbs in over a decade. That will get me very close to my ultimate goal and I hope to be learning maintenance habits by the end of 2011.

I want to lose the last fifty pounds in 2011, after the first 50 coming off over the past two years. I would really love to be in the mid-100's for my brother's wedding in July, but any weight off is a very good thing, regardless of the time frame. I'm just going to keep on my plan and plug away :)

12-26-2010, 07:13 PM
I am starting a new diet on January 1, 2011.

I plan on losing another 50 pounds by the end of December, 2011.
I'll be counting my calories every day!

I have sooo many nice clothes stored away in boxes.
I hope to be wearing them next summer and fall.
Best of luck to everyone!

12-26-2010, 07:27 PM
I want to lose between 12-32lbs. My goal at the moment is to get to a healthy BMI for my height which is 140lbs (12 lbs away!). Once I get to 140lbs, I will decide from there if I would want to go any further, but keeping a limit for myself of reaching a 120lbs and no less than that.

12-26-2010, 08:11 PM
I would like to take off a nice round #100lbs. Best of luck to all and a Healthy & Happy New Year!

12-26-2010, 08:15 PM
My Goals for 2011:

1. Get to my Goal Weight of 132 (105 LBS to Go).

2. Get in Shape. I re-joined Gold's Gym on 11/24/10. Signed up with a Trainer for a year starting 11/29/10 until 11/29/11.

Good Luck, Everyone.

I want to jump right in and say I want to lose 100 lbs in 2011, but it scares me. I don't know, I hear that number and it freaks me the **** out, and I feel like I'm setting myself up for something impossible.

THAT SAID...I'm gonna do it. Even if I have to look at it as 1 lb. 100 times, I'm gonna do it. I can't not, and I won't give myself the option to fail.

I'm on a good trajectory right now...it's time to pull up my big girl panties and just stay the course. (I've kept off everything I lost last year, which is 40+ pounds, so I'm using that as a baseline for what I can do.)

Oh, and from a totally not-about-health, completely vain perspective, this is going to be the year that I can shop at non-fat lady stores besides Macy's and Kohl's. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Macy's, but I'm ready to bid a fond farewell to Lane Bryant. For. Ever.

2011, baby! :)

12-26-2010, 08:33 PM
My goal is to stay 100% On Plan. My one year anniv will be october 19th. My goal was to get 365 days on plan, so right now I am at 67 days. Some days have been a struggle, but fewer and further between.

My goal is set kind of low, mainly cuz I am accounting for possible stalls or low loss weeks so that I can consider myself a success and feel good and want to keep going, instead of getting close, and falling even a little short, and feeling like a failure (that's just how I am. :( )

So, my goal for 2011 is to lose 65 lbs and do the c25k. I hope to run at least one 5k before the fall hits. But that is an iffy goal with my fibromyalgia, if I can't, that's fine, just the training is enough.

12-26-2010, 08:33 PM
Awesome to read all your wonderful visions for yourselves! And ALL of it is totally doable :)

My goal is to get to 145-155 (depending on how I feel) by summer, and maintain it through the end of the year and onward. I want to be more active, stronger, and get DIET off my brain for the first time in my adult life! So exciting :)

12-26-2010, 08:41 PM
I want to lose at least 50lbs in 2011.

12-26-2010, 09:15 PM
I will reach my goal weight in 2011 by losing 64 more pounds. I will continue to count calories and eat foods that are healthy. I will start to exercise on a more regular basis - beginning with walk/run sessions 3 times a week, building to 5 times a week, and adding strength training by the end of February. I will meet with a personal trainer by the end of February. I will allow myself the occasional resonable treat because this is a permanent lifestyle change, not a temporary diet. I will be pleased with the progress I have made and continue to make.

12-26-2010, 09:43 PM
I WILL meet my goal of 140 pounds in 2011 got 102 pounds to go.

12-26-2010, 09:59 PM
I will reach my goal weight of 150, and maybe my stretch goal of 140.

I will climb Mt. Washington again. I will do at least 10 mountain hikes.

I will find the man of my dreams. What, this is a goal right? ;)

12-26-2010, 10:10 PM
What I did all of 2010 and half of 2009!

Bring it :carrot:

12-26-2010, 10:19 PM
I can honestly say that I'm more focused on how miserable I feel now than I ever have been before. Therefore, I think my goals will be equally weight loss and health gains. I'd like to see one-derland before the end of the year. One of my goals will be to get all new baseline preventive numbers....cholesterol, insulin, BP, etc. I'm almost afraid to see these numbers, but I think it's time that I got realistic about what I'm doing to myself. Then, I will lower each of my numbers. This year, I will give up sugar and I will start good fitness program that includes cardio, strength training and flexibility exercises. Next year, I want new clothes in for Christmas, in smaller, sexier sizes!

12-26-2010, 10:22 PM
- Reach my goal of 135 lbs
- Complete Insanity during the summer
- Get a hot prom date? ;D

12-26-2010, 10:25 PM
My goal is to lose at least 55 more pounds and reach 170 or lower. I will also consistently workout at least 4 days a week and I will to stick to my WW plan for the entire year.

12-26-2010, 10:58 PM
My goals will be the same as they are now, keep working out every other day, keep swimming and Zumba'ing too. I will continue to have bread or pasta or potatoes only occasionally. I pretty much eliminated sugar this year and didn't miss it at all, so that part should be easy.

Good luck to all of us.

12-27-2010, 02:32 AM
well my goal is the wonderful world of onederland!
so, i need to drop 74pounds to get to 199

i lost 6lbs this month so I'm confident i can keep it up.

happy new year!!!

12-27-2010, 02:54 AM
I really would like to complete my first 5K in 2011. I would like to lose 50-60 pounds in '11. I would like to buy a bike in '11 and go for long saturday bike rides with DH. I have other goals not related to weight loss, but it will be a good year! I just know it! And I'm starting tomorrow, not 1/1! :D

12-27-2010, 02:56 AM
I will lose 30 lbs to hit my goal. I also will find out what the heck is wrong with my left leg so that I can continue running and training for my first marathon in Dec. 11'.

12-27-2010, 01:44 PM
I must get down to my goal weight. I've maintained for 2 years now, when I have a good amount still to lose.

So.....lose 50 pounds by New Years Eve 2011 is the goal.

To accomplish this, I will: log in my food......DAILY!

I do go to the gym very regularly, but I have also signed up for a trim and tone class to mix things up a bit. Which will be Mon and Wed staring in a week.

12-27-2010, 02:07 PM
My main goal for 2011 is to get into the healthy weight range, which for me is around 135 (40ish more pounds).

I want to complete the TurboFire 20 week schedule and train to complete a sprint triathlon at the end of August.

12-27-2010, 03:02 PM
My goals for 2011:

1. Below 200
2. JOG a 5k (none of this walking business)
3. Track daily

Sounds easy but we all know it's not!!!!!
If I get below 200 halfway through 2011, I will work towards goal weight!

WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!

12-27-2010, 03:22 PM
Hi all!

I'd like to be at onederland by the end of 2011. It's a long way to go, but I believe if I just keep plugging away at it, I can do it.

My other goal is to be able to shed some of my medications because I'm just generally healthier than I was this year.

Good luck to all of you!:carrot:

12-27-2010, 04:24 PM
Weight loss/Fitness goals for 2011:

* Get down below 159 lbs - which would mean into the healthy BMI range for my height.

* Complete the C25K before 31 August 2011 - I would like to start this once I get below 218 lbs as I would feel too worried about my joints before that.

* Fit into UK size 14 (EU 42)

Best wishes to all in their own quest! :)

12-27-2010, 04:32 PM
In 2011 I want to accomplish the following:

1. Get to goal weight,
2. Be able to jog/run the whole 5K instead of run/walk,
3. Start riding a bike again, for fun and exercise,
4. Eat more from my own vegetable garden (every day this summer)
5. Smile more!

12-27-2010, 09:47 PM
grrrr i hate new year's resolutions, I can't even tell you how many (oh wait, I can, about 25 of them!) I've resolved "this is the year" fully prepared, fully committed, just knowing the time was right -- and by February of each and every year those wheels fell off with a THUD! So, in that spirit, I'm pretending January 1st is a nothing day! Just another day to continue keeping on, no more no less!

12-27-2010, 10:49 PM
My goal. More of the same. And to run a 5 K.

12-27-2010, 11:35 PM
run a marathon in the fall!

(and lower my body fat percentage).

12-28-2010, 04:52 AM
2011 is going to be my year of stopping "diet" foods and learning to simply eat cleanly!!

12-28-2010, 06:38 AM
1. Meet goal of 140 lbs (and possibly drop to 130)
2. Walk 2-5 Half-Marathons (currently signed up for two)
3. Complete Presidential Active Lifestyle Award Challenge
4. Learn to tango!
5. Take a yoga class

Let's kick some butt in 2011! :carrot:

* My weight goal for 2011 is to lose 52 pounds to get to a healthy BMI.
* Exercise a minimum of 3 times/week, 30 mins. Lift weights 2 times/week.

Short term goals:
* Join WW On-line or Spark People to track calories.
* Lose 10 pounds to comfortably fit into my 20W pants.
* Treadmill 3 times/week 20 mins.

12-29-2010, 06:39 AM
My goal for 2011 is to lose 52 lbs. That's a pound a week, I can do that.

I'm going to recommit to WW and the new Points+ plan and stick to it ALL YEAR. I start and then quit and then start and then quit but this year I'm going to stick with it.

I would love for this to be the year that I can break up with Lane Bryant. I am now in a snug 18/baggy 20.

I'm also going to commit to working out at the gym AT LEAST 3x per week. I pay for that membership, I should USE IT.

12-29-2010, 10:02 AM
My goal for 2011 is to lose 40 more lbs to get to 180 and tone up and get body fat to a 20% or less since I have a very solid frame I think that is possible. I want to continue working out and building muscle. I WILL MAKE GOAL IN 2011

12-29-2010, 04:45 PM
Awesome commitments! I am back on track and focused, ready to see that scale plummet :)

12-30-2010, 12:33 PM
Hoping to lose at least 100 lbs. If more, awesome, if less, at least it'll be something.

12-30-2010, 07:19 PM
I love the idea of the big build-up to 01/01 (more especially to 1/1/11). I can't wait any longer though, and am going to start tomorrow.

Assuming that I top out at 165 tomorrow (here's hoping) then I want to lose 45lbs in 2011. Hey, that's not so bad. I can do that.

Happy New Year, when it comes, everyone!

The Last Noel
12-30-2010, 08:56 PM
I would like to lose at least 60 pounds in 2011. I would like to go hiking with my daughter. I would like to begin training for marathons. I would like to improve my health until I no longer have migraines or feet problems or back problems.

60 pounds would put me at 182. I think that is a size 14 for me. That would be great too!

12-30-2010, 08:59 PM
Planning to get under 200 pounds for the first time in a decade. Also not waiting until the new year to get back on track... though it'll definitely be easier to stay on plan after the holidays are done!

Hoping to be able to walk a 5K in 2011. Weighing less is a big key to that goal, since my feet/ankles can only rarely manage a 2 mile walk now.

12-30-2010, 10:16 PM
Goals for 2011:

1. Get down to 200 lbs.
2. Be able to wear size 18 clothes.
3. Exercise for at least 45 minutes every day.
4. Cut soft drinks out of my diet.
5. Eat out no more frequently than once a week (under normal circumstances).

12-30-2010, 10:47 PM
1) Prove that I'm not "on another diet". I've changed habits, and the weight cannot return.
2) Stay on the treadmill during the summer and not slack off like this year, even if I have to pump the A/C to compensate...
3) Pay off as many credit cards as possible. And perhaps... all of them. I have six of those stinkers to get rid of!! :rollpin:

12-30-2010, 11:09 PM
The plan is to try to reach my goal weight by my birthday in mid October. If I make it I spend the rest of the year maintaining, if not, I just keep working towards it till I make it. :halffull:

01-01-2011, 10:16 PM
It's January! Let's work hard and not forget our goals. Every choice we make is a step TOWARDS or AWAY FROM these goals we listed. There is no standing still.

01-02-2011, 12:23 AM
Today I did something I don't think I've done in probably two decades. We were at a restaurant, I actually put my fork down with half of the food still on the plate. In the past when I didn't want to take a carry out box full of food with me I would eat beyond the time I was comfortable so not to waste anything. I swore that my "I'm full" button wasn't working any more but today it did and my resolution for this year is to always stop eating the second I've had enough, which I'm sure sounds insane to many of you. I plan to do this even if it's totally on plan healthy food too. It's nonsense to keep eating when you're satisfied. It was like a lightbulb went off finally.

01-03-2011, 12:07 PM
Good job, Paula!

01-03-2011, 12:18 PM
I need to finish losing - I did a great job in 2010, but there is still more to be done this year.

Also, I need to learn more about maintenance and work on my visceral response to it - as much as I read on this forum and in other places, maintenance still scares the whey out of me.

01-03-2011, 12:45 PM
My goals for 2011 are...

- Lose between 12.8-27.8#! (12.8 will put me at 140 and I'll see if I want to go lower than 140...but I'm thinking no lower than 125.)

- Stay on plan like I have been. Prove that I'm not on a diet - that I've changed my lifestyle.

- Become a runner!

- Tone and lower my body fat %.

and although not weight loss or fitness related...

- Graduate college this year! :D

01-04-2011, 11:12 AM
I hope everyone is moving towards their goals and not forgetting :)

I had gotten up to 189 over the holidays but am 183 today, so moving in the right direction!
