Check out the poll on the top and vote on which theme you would be interested in. Please also post any team name suggestions you have to go along with your theme!
I voted for the winter/new years theme, and was thinking along the lines of team snow versus team ice...
I like the Valentines Day theme also, because the challenge ends the day before Valentines Day... not sure if that makes sense...

Great idea for a thread Kim! Way to keep us all on point! I voted for the Valentine's Day challenge but now that you say ice vs. snow I kinda dig that too!

Hi y'all! I'll wait to hear some ideas before voting. I like mythology, disney, and v-day, but wonder what the teams would be... I like dragons and gryphons, fairies and nymphs... for V-day, thinking roses and silk/lace/satin... haha.. i really like disney, but can't decide... thinking Pixar vs Dreamworks... the lineup would be good/funny... I bet Toothless could blast away any pixar toons..

I'm happy with whatever theme everyone else wants this time around. My update is that while I'm not completely on plan, I'm not doing a horrible job either!

hey ladies! Sorry I disappeared over the past couple of weeks. I have been around, just haven't had enough time to post as well as throw stats together. The last month has included 4 funerals, my grandfather being put in a nursing home, and overall craziness at my house. On the plus side, I did celebrate my 27th birthday last week, and had a great time with friends and family. I'm looking forward to the end of 2010!
I probably won't be able to get on again until after Christmas, so HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!

I can see from the lack of posting that everyone must be enjoying the holidays!!!
We've got a bit of a tie going on for the theme for the next challenge, so make sure to get voting!!!
Question for the next couple days...
What did you do to celebrate your holidays? Were you on plan or off? What are your plans to get back on track if you fell off the wagon a bit?
January 2nd is my big day to get back at it hard core. I'm watching what I eat and trying to get some exercise in, but I'm also not doing as much as I should. I am doing LOTS of planning right now though to make sure I'm back on track when the New Year begins! I got tickets to Hawaii for Christmas, and am going in April, so I would really like to be able to comfortably wear some shorts and t-shirts, without having them be big and baggy. I know I won't be anywhere near goal by then, but I'd like to be where I was in college. I'm going to see a friend I haven't seen since then and I really don't want to show up the way I am now. I know she loves me as a friend no matter how big I am... I just want to be a little bit more comfortable and confident by the time April rolls around!

Hi y'all! Hope everyone had a good Christmas/Holiday. Mine was good- the BF really spoiled me this year with video games and earrings :D Kiddo got lots of presents, so that's good :) We had gifts at home, at BF's dad's, then at my sister's. I'm actually surprised my weight is the same as before Christmas. Didn't go too far from plan. Drank lots of coffee, but I always do. Couple of "small" desserts (cake/pie) and ate 2 hearty meals on Christmas day. I'm really surprised that eating lots of little Baby Ruth candies didn't do more damage. Anyways, its MONDAY, so Fresh Start for everyone! ;) 1/2 c. dry oatmeal and 1/4 c. raisins for breakfast today. I made a 1-week meal plan.. hoping I can stick with it but need to go shopping.
Here's kind-of what it will include (# is how many servings):
Breakfast- 1 grain, 1 protein, 1 calcium, 1 fruit
Snack- 1 fruit or 1 protein or 1/2 each
Lunch- 1 meat, 1 grain, 1 veggie
Snack- 1 calcium, 1 fruit, 1 protein (2 of 3 or 1/2 of each)
Dinner- 1 meat, 1 veggie
Grains will be brown rice, high-fiber cereal or wheat bread. Proteins will be meat (chicken/fish/etc) or nuts (almonds/walnuts/etc).
Kim: Nice to see a post from you. Hope things are looking up for you. Congrats on Hawaii- you have time to make major headway. Especially planning ahead and if you hit the ground running... results should be good :)
Last challenge I learned that it'll take dedication and a combination of exercise and eating clean. This coming challenge, I'll work more on improving my diet (eating clean, REAL, not processsed foods) and continuing my workouts. Special K bars, though easy and convenient, are probably not good for daily breakfast (with all the sugar added). I also realized that 1 can of Light Monster Java coffee has 15% of your daily sodium... wow... another easy/convenient food that's not as good as it seems. These are still good treats for keeping me close to plan, but they should be treats instead of every day. Regarding treats and fast-food deprivation, I think I'll allow myself fast food once a week (probably a kid's meal) IF I stay on plan all week until then (exercise and eating as planned)- in case I really have to have it, but with the knowledge that it'll knock my weight off track for 1-2 days.

It blows my mind how much sodium there is in food. My mom has high blood pressure, she's a health nut and immediately cut out most salty foods. Canned goods especially are bad. I try to not have too much sodium but I eat lots of canned soups during the winter.
I stayed on my exercise plan, but I don't really have a diet plan. Healthy food vs unhealthy are no mystery to me, as I said my mom is a health nut, so I usually can just go day by day. I KNOW when I'm being bad, that doesn't always help though.
So basically my plan is to exercise and try not to eat out, which is hard because I'm surrounded by restaurants. Live right on the main strip of a college/historic town.

Hi ladies! I hope you all had a good Christmas and have a very happy new year! I stayed on plan this holiday... yay! I had marked Christmas day as a "cheat" day and promised myself I wouldn't count any calories that day. I stuck to that plan and then was very strict the rest of the week. I am exactly the same weight today that I was on and right before Christmas... so no gain :) I am hoping to actually have a loss for the week by Saturday. I love that I can go off "plan" ...in a planned out way ...and it doesn't throw me off course at all anymore... thats a huge step. :)

I just wanted to let everyone know that I started a weekly accountability weigh in thread to keep myself on track. It will show my progress from starting weight all the way until goal. Im starting my exercises in the morning and i have anxiety about it. wierd huh? but I think its because im afraid i wont be able to do it and ill give up. i REALLY dont want to give up! My addiction for food is already starting to give me excuses why i shouldnt even try it! I know i have to learn to ignore it and just keep moving forward and that it will get easier, but the toughest part for me is just to START. isnt that silly?
