Funny! The new thread confused me for a few moments. :dizzy: carter needs more coffee ...

Good morning everyone! Let's see who's checked in so far ...

Cincimini: I never question the whooshes ;) enjoy it!

Starbrite: Great job! That 100lbs lost is remarkable and nothing to sneeze at. Brag about yourself today! You deserve it for sure.

OnaMi: Nice job! (That sumo smiley always cracks me up. :D)

Diana: Keep it up lady.

Okay on to my numbers. This week has been ... odd. Rigorously on plan, but I'm working very hard because my twice-a-year deadline is barreling toward me at high speed. Unfortunately I've let the exercise-time slide in favor of squeezing in a little more work. I'm okay with it for now, though, because I know I'll pick up again as soon as I feel more comfortable with the deadline situation.

Hey ladies - I've been hiding out lately and not weighing, not caring. I haven't been eating well or exercising really. I'm not going over my calorie range but I definitely haven't been making smart choices, and the weird thing is it has nothing to do with the holidays. Just in one heck of a major funk. Can't seem to snap myself out of it. I'm well aware that I need to get in a workout to feel better, I always feel better after a workout, but I just can't seem to get up and get to that point to do it. I'm also aware of the things I'm eating, but just not in the mood to change anything about it. I also know that anything worth getting is difficult so I need to take baby steps and just do it. Or maybe I need to quit taking baby steps and just dive right in. Either way, something's gotta give because I don't know how much longer I can go on like this. I'm disappointed in myself because I have the tools and I have the knowledge to do this, but I'm just not. And that's the upsetting part.

Why did we switch threads? Exercising has really kick started my weight loss again. Go figure! I don't even do a lot. I do like 20 mins a day. ITs crazy so eating nicely does nothing. But just 20 mins a day of exercising gets me good results. who'd a thunk it?

Ugh.

I started a new medication last week, and discontinued another one. these are my weigh-ins since then:

10:177.6
11:178.2
12:177.6
13:177.8
14:178.6
15:178.2
16:179
17:179.8

I'm up over two pounds. I weigh more than I did at the beginning of the month. I'm pretty sure it's all water - as I've been sticking to my plan and the med I discontinued is a strong diuretic and the new one, while still a diuretic, is much weaker in that department. Still, it sucks to see the scale creeping up and not be able to do anything to stop it.

I was lost on the new thread too but oh well. Here I am! I am up .4 this morning to an even 219.0.

I will take it and run! Busy weekend planned. My son's rollerskating birthday party, an xmas party and we're going to spend most of tomorrow morning baking and decorating cookies. The funny thing to me is that I'm not that worried about baking all of those cookies. I don't feel real tempted by them. It's a nice feeling.

Just wanted to share.

I start it half way through the month so I don't have to think about it. I only have so much brain power to go around  Also, If we hit 500 posts 5 days before the end of the month, it seems silly to start a new one just for a few days.

You can do this! We all know what you're going through:) if losing weight was easy..we would all be thin! You're funk may have won this little battle but ultimately you will (and can) pull through and win this weightloss war! We are all standing behind you cheering you on!

So a new thread? I don't understand why but whatever...

You know I'm in it to win it! LOL I had a measley 4 (well really 5 but whatever) pound loss this month and I am looking to double that this month to 8 lbs...or even more, I would really like a 10 lb. loss but we'll see, the name of the game this month? Consistency.

FOR EVERYONE WHO WONDERS WHY WE HAVE A NEW THREAD - this would be my answer . I was asked by the mods a couple of months ago to start a new thread mid month because we always go over 500 posts. So, that's what I do.

I start it half way through the month so I don't have to think about it. I only have so much brain power to go around  Also, If we hit 500 posts 5 days before the end of the month, it seems silly to start a new one just for a few days.

Thanks Cutie. I did realize something while I was out this evening, today was actually a big milestone for me. It's officially been 3 months since I quit smoking. That kind of helped me realize that I can do things when I put my mind to them.

Morning all :dancer:
Still on track, still fighting :sumo:
Had such a truly wonderful day yesterday. Everyone was so nice and so kind and so incredibly encouraging about the 100lbs lost. My DD went shopping and came home with the most stunning bracelet for me to mark the occasion. I was really incredibly moved and am crying now whilst typing. She is 14 and so truly amazing, such a beautiful individual inside and out. I also shared champagne with my BFF in the hot tub - totally awesome decadence, but deserved methinks ! I Vowed I would not weigh between yesterday and when we go away for Christmas next wednesday. (I didn't want to leave for the holidays feeling the slump I get when the scale says +0.4 or whatever- there has to be a bounce back after the ridiculous weightloss I have had this week)
However I woke this morning to the clarity that the reason I have lost the 100 in 8 months is exactly the daily weighing. It has kept me on the straight and narrow and made me do this. There are very clear trends and patterns that I now don't understand :dizzy: but I recognize and accept.
So :sumo: weight for today ........197.8 !!!!!!!!! :woohoo:
That feels sooooooooo good to be writing the 1 :D
Have a lovely day- I'm off to a leaving party for my very skinny boss tonight. I will wear my green dress, and show her that you don't have to be completely skinny to be beautiful

Some great progress going on in here - Well done ladies! :carrot:

I'm down 0.4 at 250.4 :carrot::carrot:.
I've graphed the last 3 months of weight loss and it seems I always hit a downward whoosh halfway through my cycle. So I guess this is why it's been going well these last few days :D. I'm not complaining though, just enjoying it while it lasts .

Next week will be tough with the Xmas parties and eggnogg, but...as long as I don't let myself go every single meal, I'll be okay. I'm hoping to get below 250 before Xmas and then hope to just hold on for good life until after the holidays.

cincimini Great job on the .4. I've never graphed my loss, but I can tell there is a definite trend for me. I go through phases where I lose and then others that I more or less maintain for a week or so.

Cinci, great job on the research and the .4! knew you were doing something right;)I've Noticed my own little pattern,Fascinating!

Kukkie,by realizing that if you can quit smoking, you have more self control and willpower than you thought,is great knowledge! Hold on to that.

Holding at 220.2! One year ago today, i started a journey to change my life cause i was sick and tired of being Fat.I wanted to be happy and enjoy the second half of my life not being on so many pills, being able to breathe w/o an oxygen tank and walk in a store w/o looking for a seat cause i was too tired to stand.

Well, with the help of some very wonderful people that were put in my path to help me and the strength from the Lord,I never thought I'd feel and look like i do today! no more pills, oxygen tanks and as for the walking..well..I'm jogging now :) And the best is yet to come!!!!

Thank you regular posters for help giving me a new life(you know who you are,we've pm'd or shared comforting, supporting words.. you're like family to me )This thread, this site.. all of you have been a blessing to me.That's why i try so hard to be a blessing, help others cause it was done for me.I love you all and wish you all the best on your journeys :grouphug:

Well Because of the Christmas gain I am still working on getting off the weight I gained on Christmas weekend. So for right now I am trying to get back to 194. It seems like when I gain back weight it is harder to get off again. It was like that for Thanksgiving weekend. It will probably take me another week to get back to where I was. Then I will try and get back to losing 5-6 Lbs. a month.

Finished week 4 day 2 of the couch to 5k yesterday! It was so cold outside but didn't stop! I'm pushing myself...I really want to do this!

12-7: 251.4
12-11: 248.6

12-13: 251.8 (no more sodas!)

12-17: 247.8 (finished w4.d2 today)-1030 calories after run
12-18: 245.4 (whooooooosh)

I got off and on the scale probably 10 times this morning because I could not believe it. I think the combination from running, tracking, no sodas, and eating between 1200 - 1400 calories has really helped. Plus I have been telling everyone what my goals are and it's been keeping me accountable! I know some of that is water weight..but hey! That's a low I haven't seen since feb!!!! Excited!!!!

Party was fun, lots of compliments on the dress and my weightloss. There was a video playing of me in the background - normally I would cringe, but I actually found it interesting to see myself !
So next challenge is 6.8lbs away- getting into "overweight" instead of "obese"- Yay :sumo:

whoooo hoooooo new low 206.4 from 207.2 from yesterday!!!!! If you guys ever hear me complaining again about not feeling like exercising e-slap me PLEASE! Due to my complete laziness and not exercising for 3 weeks, I'm not gonna hit Onderland by Jan 1st as planned, but i'll definitely be at her doorstep!!!

I'm horrible at giving everyone a personal reply. But good job everyone. OnaMi congratz on the one year anniversary. That's awesome! You and Diana are like my idols right now, your pounds are just melting away quickly!

And that's the upsetting part.

heeey, im a little late with a reply. But you can do it sweety. Every so often I get in the same funk. I stopped exercising for like a good 3 weeks, and my body did exactly what it was expected it to. Stop losing. I just started back up again (Tuesday). I just thought to myself. I don't want to go another winter in this body I'm in. I don't want to be like last year where I promise to do good. Then look back and go wow. Another year wasted. I could have been at goal right now, if I just continued on when I start LAST DECEMBER. Or having summer roll around and realize I"m still the beach whale in the blah colored one piece bathing suit. Tell yourself NO MORE OF THIS! WE can do this hun. Slip ups happen. Sometimes we lose grip and we fall off. But don't let that bandwagon drive off without you. Run full speed catch up and hop right back on like you never left!!! If you ever feel like you can't hold on, you have an entire forum of e-family to hold on to.

Ona Good Morning! My TTOM is normally a long drawn out affair. It still hasn't started. By the calendar it should be this week. I will think positive, though. Just maybe it will start tomorrow and be over by the weekend. ;) I think I mentioned that I was not going to workout while away. I've decided to take my workouts and resistance bands. I plan to workout. Worst case scenario is that I don't, best case scenario is that I do. If I don't take them, I won't even have that option.

Morning Ladies!
So I am up but most of this is water retention! My rings are so tight! Also Saturday night we went to Olive Garden and while I didn't over do it, the sodium in "outside" food will really show on the scale the next day for me.

I am on break for two weeks! Yay! I really need to focus and stay OP. I always lose it when I am at home and gain like crazy. So today I am cleaning out my fridge and heading out grocery shopping to get some fresh fruits and veggies. I have a busy day, I am taking the little ones to see Santa and finish up some Christmas shopping, yay crowds and mall food temptation! :)

As for exercise, I took a big break from my 60+ minutes of exercising and gradually started decreasing my activity level because I was starting to feel like I wasn't getting enough food! Starting today, I am starting C25K back up! I think a good interval program like that will shake things up again for me and I should see some losses without feeling so starved! I have to stay around 1200-1350 calories in order to see any movement. Anything higher and I quickly gain! :( Phooey!

Ona- Congrats on your anniversary! What a long way you have come from being dependent on those things that being obese forces us to need just to live! Look at you now, jogging!

Okay, I have to get the little ones fed and dressed! My hubby is away in Houston for two days and my older daughters are in Indy visiting their dad and his side of the family for Christmas. So it's just me and my babies - it is so different! I feel like I am in single Mom mode again! Except without the dating, LOL...;)

Have a great OP day everyone!

Hugs,
Leah

Good Morning All!

Well, I am not surprised at my gain after this weekend. I was 85% on plan but my evening meals on Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday were higher in sodium and carbs than my body is used to. I also got back to the gym on Saturday morning and COMPLETELY overdid it. So my legs are holding onto some serious water because I am really sore.

I am not stressed about it at all and am CONFIDENT that after 3 or 4 days of my usual structured eating, my body will relax and my numbers will come back down.

Quick synopsis of my weekend:

Sat: first workout at the gym in almost a whole month!! Did 15 minutes straight of running. :yikes: (I was so surprised and delighted) Then I did 25 minutes of some hardcore incline walking because I felt so good. I ended up on a 4.0 incline going 3.8 mph. Thats insane for me! I loved it. Saturday was also Cookie Day. I don't know how many cookies we made but I bought 6 rolls of cookie dough and baked them all. We'll need to do some more on Wed night too. It was so much fun and I only ate 2 small cookies.

Sun: My son's 7th birthday so we had a party at a rollerskating rink. It was total chaos and he had a blast. It was so crazy though, I only got a chance to eat the salad I had brought with me for scattered moments. So I didnt eat nearly enough by the time supper came around. Then last night, we had the first of our several family get togethers for the holidays. I had a full plate there and felt perfectly fine about all that I was eating because of not getting much to eat at the party. Totally avoided the dessert buffet too!!! Super proud of that one! You should've seen all the stuff there! Busy Busy Busy this weekend.

No wonder my numbers are all over the place. High sodium and later than usual eating will do that. :)

Hope everyone had great weekends. I will try to get caught up on the weekend reading today.

Leah- yeah, Olive Garden can have some healthy options (I like the apricot chicken), but so much sodium! It'll come off in no time :)

Matilda- it'll come right off again once you start working out :)

Vixsin- I wish had your confidence! When I see the scale go up, even if I know it's from sodium I fret and worry until it goes down again.

CutieCourt- Oohhhh I understand tracking 100%, even when you don't want to! Yesterday I had to track two cookies and a bowl of popcorn and it was not good. Good luck on getting below 245. You can do it!

As for me, I am doing pretty well. Definitely eating a lot less and I am transitioning from merely counting and checking weight to counting within a limit! I'm excited to see what an almost 1000 calorie drop will do for my weight.

Good Morning, All!

Last week I posted that every time I go to this particular restaurant, I have a slight gain the next day. (This is not my favorite Japanese restaurant) Anyways, the good thing about this restaurant is that they serve a lot of vegetables. I always order a meat and 4 veggies. It's a great meal.

We went there last night and guess what? I am up this morning. I don't know if they use MSG in their food. If they use MSG, that could be the culprit. The food does not taste overly salty. I'm not sure where the problem is. I hate to avoid this restaurant, because I really enjoy the vegetables they serve. :(

The gain could also be from pending TTOM, too. We'll see.

I'm up .6 to 222.8 today.

My new thought is the new medication I was put on. Ever since the first full day with it, the gain started. That's 4.2 pounds in roughly 5 days. No, that won't do. I did some research this morning and one of the side effects is abnormal weight loss or gain. Why couldnt I get the abnormal weight LOSS!?!?! Already got my appointment for 3 this afternoon.

Wish me luck girls. I know it's just the meds but let me tell you, watching the number on my scale creep up like this is not an easy thing to watch! I need a hug.

For the past 10 days or so, I've had this super sore index finger. My fingernail started turning green, it was really swollen & red. I had broken my fingernail down to the quick on one side, and wondered if I had gotten a infection....turns out I had! I had some leftover Amoxicillin from a ear infection earlier in the year, so I started taking that until I could get into the doctor on Monday. I started that on Saturday night (Dec 18) - then had a 4.2lb drop a day later. When I took my daughters to our doctor on Monday, I asked her about my finger and she prescribed a strong antibiotic. Since then the swelling has gone down, it isn't red anymore, and it doesn't hurt to put pressure on it. I have to wonder if my body holding onto weight wasn't a response to the infection that was brewing, and now that its on its way out, things are going back to normal. Just something to chew on.

I just wanted to say how Cool it is to track this everyday. Typically I always weighed in 2 x daily. Now that I started this I only count one weight as my true weight now. I have you all to Thank for That. Plus it's been great to play around with my intake this holiday season to see what has worked for me to lose and to maintain. It's also interesting to see how bloating/lack of bowel movements can signficantly shift my weight around.

But I reached my goal of 185 and moving forward to the next of 179.

Hey Vixsen!
I will do W5.D1 today and plan to be complete with W5.D3 on Sunday! :) will probably try to do week 6 on Tuesday of next week! My running schedule got out of whack this last weekend, so now everything is off of my norm schedule. The 25 min run on week 7 kinda makes me nervous too!!! It seems like after week 6 it just jumps up to the long runs instead of ease into it!
Is your week 6, warmup-5 min jog-3 min walk-8 min jog- 3 min walk-5 min jog- cooldown? I just reread what you wrote...I don't have a 20 min jog, just 25 min week 7:)

I cant wait to do the 25 min, even though im scared, bc so far the intervals have been proportioned just right. Usually the first day of the new week is hardcore, the second day is still a little hard and then the 3rd day im breezing through it like nothin! Thats awesome were almost on the same weeks!!!!!!!!!:) C25K really does work with endurance! Jogging makes me feel strong...I still laugh about how hard w1.d1 was. I thought I'd never make it through that 30 seconds!!!!!!!! :)

Morning folks! *slurps coffee* It looks like everyone who checked in saw a loss today, wow!

starbrite: have a wonderful Christmas.

Diana: Good job on the loss - always good to know I have a coffee buddy here! :D

Kristi: nice whooshes! I am glad you got that finger looked at. Ouch!

OnaMi: great job, keep at it! :dizzy:

Twinmomma: good job on reaching the goal. I like the daily weighing as a sort of scientific curiosity - it's the only way to really learn my body's patterns and not be frustrated by them.

Vixsin: Hang in there. Remember that one day isn't always enough to see a change - if you don't get that loss tomorrow, you will get it eventually.

CutieCourt: Great loss and great job staying away from the sodas. You can do it!

Okay now for me.

Cutie: your plan sounds just a bit different than mine. My w5d3 is the 5 min warm up and then 20 minute run. w6d1 is 5 min warmup, jog 5 mins, walk 3 mins, jog 8 mins, walk 3 mins, jog 5 mins. w6d2 is 5 min warmup, jog 10 mins, walk 3 mins, jog 10 mins. w6d3 is 5 min warmup then 25 min jog.

I love that were so close in weeks. the jogging really does help with endurance. I remember when I was struggling to jog for 5 mins straight, now it seems like such a breeze.

We are doing great!!!! :high:

Carter: Thank you for those kind words. They hit the nail right on the head for me today! You're absolutely right. Patience is a virtue!

It's coming up much quicker than I thought..lol:) I just assumed each day was like 5.1, I guess the program switches it up a bit during week 5 to get ready for week 6! I'm excited for us!!
I tell everyone about the c25k, if I'm 250 and doing it then I believe anyone can...just takes a little determination! Go us!

Good Morning All!

I've been struggling with my sleep this last week. I've also had a (TMI) loose stomach, but not diarrhea. Both of these can be signs of my thyroid meds being too high. Today is my appointment with my Endo to go over my labs from last week. TTOM started yesterday, too. I have sleep issues and sometimes stomach issues with that, too. :dunno: I was secretly hoping to be below 170 before Christmas (and stay below, especially with the Holidays being here). I doubt that will happen with TTOM's arrival. I still have something to look forward to, right?

I'm glad about that and I am glad to have that med working it's way out of my system so my body can calm back down.

Going to the gym tonite for a little C25K. Thank you all for your support over the last few days. I was really frustrated and I'm so thankful that you guys wouldn't let my spirits dip too low.

Fitkristi: SO excited for you!!! Glad you got that finger checked out and so happy about your NSV!!! What a great way to go into the holiday! Talk about feeling strong!!! Way to go!!! :D

Good morning everyone!

A very warm and contented Christmas to all who are celebrating. :sunny:
I'm not, but since everything is closed and I'm stuck at home all day anyhow, I have planned some nice cooking for tonight - I bought a rack of lamb, and some sweet potatoes to roast, and broccoli rabe. So I have an absolutely delicious and on-plan meal to look forward too ... assuming I'm not sick, I feel a little weird this morning. :dizzy:

Down .2 today. Got some good sleep last night. I am so thankful to see even the smallest of drops today. That means that I did well with my eating yesterday and that is a huge accomplishment. Hopefully there will be more of a drop tomorrow. I am confident coming into this last week of the year. I don't know if I will hit it, but I only have 3 lbs to get back to my December goal. If I don't make it back there, I will have a hard time counting my goal as accomplished for the month. We shall see. It is definitely giving me motivation to do well.

So far the best gifts I received this year are my wok frying pan and the awesome cutting board and knife my sister gave me. YAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!

*shuffles in grunting with a cup of coffee*

Mornin' folks! Not a lot of check-in over the weekend - hope everyone had a great Christmas whether you were celebrating or not! Me, I had a very low-key weekend, and today I'm snowed in and working from home.

Vixsin: great job on the loss and on getting some sleep! Good rest is so important. I am bad about getting enough sleep myself. I tend to skate by on 6 hours during the week and then crash on the weekends.

Eclipse: Hang in there, you will turn it around.

Peachykeen: good loss! Keep at it.

Okay, me:

Decided not to track for Christmas eve and Christmas! It's the holidays and I wanted to enjoy every bit of it. I knew there would be a gain and was fully prepared for it. I didn't get my running in like I wanted to Soooooo I'm restarting week 5 again.

Vixsen: how did your 20 min run go?! :o) I'm curious to see how the jump from 5.2 to 5.3 is.

Daily weigh in:

12-7: 251.4
12-11: 248.6
12-12: 249.8
12-13: 251.8 (no more sodas!)
12-14: 250.8

12-16: 248.4 (1200 calories, no workout)
12-17: 247.8 (finished w4.d2 today)-1030 calories after run
12-18: 245.4 (whooooooosh)

Back to tracking 100%, no sodas, and c25k! So glad the holidays are over! So glad! Ready to get back on track and get out of the 240's! It was so hard coming and posting the gain, even if it isn't completely correct. Trying to drink tons of water today to get rid of all the sodium I consumed for 2.5 days. :o)

Goal is to be back down to 244.4 this week:)

Cutie: I didn't make my 20 min run yet either. Yeah...I had to modify the transition a little. I kind of added my own extra week. I did their day 1 and day 2 and then created my own plans. My last run was Thursday and I did and interval of 10 mins, walked 5, then I ran 12mins. I'm going to the gym tomorrow and going to attempt a 15 min run, walk 5, run 10. Then on Thursday I am going to tackle the 20 min run. I am nervous but confident. It's all mind over matter with me. I had to ease myself into it a little more than c25k did. Now I'll feel a little better about the longer runs being the theme from here on out. I know that I can run for that long if I don't give my legs the option to stop. I just have to keep talking myself into it and remind myself that my body is ready to do it and really can handle it. We are ready!!!!! We can do this!!! I love that you're my partner in crime in this!

Just typing that makes me so excited to go to the gym tomorrow after work!

Hey ladies :dancer: Hope you all had a great week.
I'm back in Belgium after a good few days of too much alcohol, not enough food and too many late nights :dizzy:
Managed to get the scrambled egg my way on Christmas day - one egg, small slice of smoked salmon, squirt of PAM. Yeeha !
Felt I was relaxed but mindful about what I ate. I realised just how much sodium there is in manufactured food, and just how not used to it I am (we really have very little manufactured food here). Feel I could be retaining about 18 gallons of water
Anyhow stepped on scale today - down 0.2 for 197.1. I'm pleased, but really slightly disappointed there was not a bigger loss. Perhaps now I'm back in my zone I can push some water and get those pounds a fallin again !
Hope everyone is well- missed you guys !!

Yes I totally know what you mean!!!!! I had in my head all day yesterday that I was going to do 5.1 and then when I got to the gym I decided on *trying* 5.2 and I was able to do it flawlessly. The last 2 min of my run..I felt like I wanted to stop but I kept pep talking myself and increased my speed a little and forced myself to do it. Sometimes the lazy couch potato pops up on my shoulder and says "just stop you know you want too" and then the fit angel says "nooo keep going only two minutes". I seem to always have that fight with myself right at the end but I refuse to stop!

I think tomorrow I'm going to see how far I can go and try to make it to at least 12 minutes or maybe try some of the intervals youre doing. The beg of week 6 isn't so bad but once we hit 6.3 it's long runs from there on out!

I'm sooooooo proud of us! We are no longer c25k freshman! Moving up to graduation date! :carrot:

Finally I told them each that I was going to lose 5 pounds for each of them, and that those 10 pounds will have their names all over it. They tortured me and tried to sabotage me so much. But you know what, it didn't work. I can say I have successfully NOT GAINED the normal 10 pounds that I pack on this holiday season and IM PROUD!

the fit angel says "nooo keep going only two minutes". I seem to always have that fight with myself right at the end but I refuse to stop!

OOOH! I've got one for you to help with that. On an episode of "The Biggest Loser" a long time ago, a contestant was on the treadmill and was about to do 2 min drills and Jillian said something that has stuck with me ever since: "Can you run this 2 minutes if it will make all of your dreams come true?" That line sticks with me because completely that 2 mins really will make all of my dreams come true. I never thought I'd be able to run for 1 minute, let alone the 20 that we're going after now! Also the phrase "Dig deeper!" I say those things to myself when I am at the end of a run. They really do help.

I'll tell ya, I'm really proud of us too!!!! Running isn't easy but I love how much it is changing my life. I will always be a runner now. I never ever want to stop. I think it's a good idea to maybe try the intervals that I'm doing. They have really helped boost my confidence about the longer runs. I'm telling you, once you get past the 10 minute mark, it feels like I could run forever because I am SO proud of myself. It's really great to have someone to go through this with!

I can't wait to hear about your progress. I'm going for the 15 mins today after work. So Excited!!!!

And good for you for breaking your holiday tradition! The gals I work with are the same way. They try to sabatoge me left and right. They aren't doing it on purpose, it's just the way that THEY eat. Not me. :) We did it! We've only got this weekend to make it through and we can officially say that we didn't let the holidays "get" to us this year!!!!! That is such an amazing feeling!

Oh! And I checked out a couple of your you tube vids. You're so cute!!! :) I think I'm gonna sign up and subscribe. I didn't realize that there's a weight loss community on there. I'm really interested in that.

I've been posting in the 250 and c25k post and daddyo (he's doing it too) gave me some good advice to just do it and don't stop even if the pace is super slow. Lol. I don't know what I'm going to do yet..lols! I call today week 5 day X. Ive been talking myself into attempting the 20 min. just go as far as I can and not move to week 6 until I have mastered the 20 min with no problem. so who knows!!!!!!

My plan is to go to the gym when I leave work in the next hour and pep talk myself for 10 minutes, then attempt it! I've been thinking about the Julian micheals thing alot. I know that of I can go 15 then the extra 5 won't be so bad. It's just jthe jump of time that is making me almost psych myself out.

Just think...by feb, were going to be "real" runners! Not that we aren't now, but we will be C25K graduates!!

Vixsin: I cannot wait to hear that you did it! I know you can! The feeling of PROUDNESS afterwards is so rewarding, I don't think I will ever forget that moment. A task I kinda didn't think I could accomplish was completed..what a milestone! You're going to do great! just remember: don't stop! If you have to lower the speed do so! I did once I got around 12-13 min in and that helped me recuperate and get ready for the rest. The last 2 min I put it back up to normal speed and finished it out. So great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such a huge milestone! I remember how 30 seconds was HARD!

Also CONGRATS on the loss!!!!! It's just falling off! You're almost below your goal now. I think your weigh in tomorrow is going to be even better..that run dropped some water weight off me for sure!!!!!

Get it girl! Remember: Dont stop...just lower your pace if you need too! You will not regret it afterwards!

That is far, far less than the 160+ day cycle I had before! I hope I continue to regulate!

Vixsin: I cannot wait to hear that you did it! I know you can!

I DID IT!!!!! I cannot believe that I ran for 20 minutes straight! The thought of it is so foreign to me. I am truly amazed with myself! Court, I hear you on the proudness...I couldnt stop smiling on the treadmill while I was doing my cool down.

I wish you could've been there. I didn't slow my pace 1 time. I didn't start to have to fight against myself until about 16 mins in. And by then, there was NO way I was going to stop. I run at 4.5 mph right now and when I got to minute 18, I was so jazzed and felt so great that I put the speed up to 6.0 mph and full on sprinted for the last 2 minutes! I felt like I could have gone forever. I seriously felt invincible when I was done.

Running is so great!

I ended the month way off from where I wanted to be - with only a 4.2lb loss. A loss is a loss, though. I'm trying to not be discouraged, since I know a lot of this is from my period. I was so bloated when I woke up that I had to use lotion to get my ring off my finger, which was so tight it was making my finger hurt.

Forgot to say lost 11lbs for December ! Yay ! Hope to continue at that pace, but am going ski-ing for 9 days on the 18th of January......not the easiest place to low carb !! :dunno: also don't tend to get more than 5 hours sleep a night (I'm taking 18 kids !) :tired: So have set my goal for January a bit lower to accommodate the trip and the fact I lost 11 in December.
Well done to everyone for their great losses - this is such an awesome place, and has given me great solace at times when I felt like giving up. You guys are awesome.
Happy, and a very healthy, and of course skinny, New Year! :newyear:

I am back up .2 to 218.8. That is a 7 lb loss for December. I am super happy with that! I am so proud to be on this journey with all of you. You guys have really helped to keep me on track and staying positive. I know we all live through each other successes and it really means alot to me to have you all by my side. I am so confident about 2011 and know that I can face anything it throws at me. I am hopeful to reach my goal by the end of next year. Even if I don't, I know I will be so close to it that I'll almost be able to touch it.

My resolutions for the new year:
1. To make my son's lunch at least 3 days a week to take to school.
2. Graduate from C25K
3. Find some 5K's to run once the weather starts to get warmer.

I wish all of you a healthy and safe new year! You guys mean the world to me!

Hi Everyone!

We have been staying at a hotel while on vacation. We were suppose to be staying at a vacation home of a friend of ours, but we got snowed out. I am so glad we didn't get snowed in and couldn't get out. We have been having a great time. Of course I brought my scale along. ;) :D I am such a nerd, right? I have watched my foods, although I have not counted calories. I have also been working out at the hotel gym. :carrot: TTOM is just ending for me. I am up a little over my low on Christmas day. Over all, I am very proud of myself. Here's my numbers for the month:

December 01: 178.6
December 31: 170.0
Total Loss for the month: 8.6 pounds :carrot:

Hello threadies, and happy new year!

This month was my first time in a daily weigh-in thread and I have to say it was terrific. I loved getting to know you all a little, and watching your successes - at staying on plan through the holidays, at losing a little or a lot this month, at ramping up the exercise. Great work everyone, I look forward to continuing with you in January.

Here is my final report for the month:
12/01: 213
12/02: 212
12/03: 212
12/04: 213
12/05: n/a
12/06: n/a
12/07: 211
12/08: 212
12/09: 212
12/10: 210
12/11: 209
12/12: 208
12/13: 209
12/14: 209
12/15: 209
12/16: 209
12/17: 209
12/18: 208
12/19: 209
12/20: 210
12/21: 208
12/22: 208
12/23: 209
12/24: 208
12/25: 207
12/26: 209
12/27: 207
12/28: 207
12/29: 206
12/30: 206
12/31: 206

Yes! I ended hanging on to my current low, with a 6-7lb loss in December. (That starting 213 was actually a bounce from 212 the previous day, so I'm inclined to say 6 for the month.) I am delighted with this result - it's a very good month for me, especially considering that I was working like mad the whole month and neglecting my exercise. The last time I had a deadline - they come twice a year at my job - I actually gained a couple of pounds. :o This thread, and all of you, helped keep me grounded and focused. Thanks!

I don't like to set numerical goals but I am starting to taste 200... here's hoping it happens in January. I'll see you all in next month's (next year's!) thread.

December has been monumental for me. Not just with losing some pounds DURING THE HOLIDAYS (thats an accomplishment within itself) but also with jogging, counting calories, and no sodas. I dont know what i would do without the support of this thread. You all keep me accountable and I am very very grateful. Here is too a new year and starting it off on the right track. Im proud of you ladies who have managed to lose and maintain during the holidays, im super proud of those who gained a little but didnt give up and kept coming back every day.

I appreciate each and everyone of you!

Daily weigh in:
12-7: 251.4
12-31: 244.6 (PMS ugh)

LOSS: 7.8 (AWESOME!!!! Cant wait to see the 230's again soon)
