Default Not the way to lose three pounds

I ate really poorly yesterday. It started with a wonderfully big and very bad breakfast. I felt guilty eating it. We went because DH was so excited to go and he doesn't get all that excited these days. It was a "mom and pop" type place, so very little good on the menu. Then I went to my friend's house and drowned some sorrows in a cup of hot chocolate. Yum. Then I had a huge bowl of spaghetti because I was ravenous...probably because of the bad breakfast.

And yet I lost three pounds since yesterday morning.

Yep, got very, very sick and threw up every two hours all night long. That's one way to do it.

The good news is two-fold. One, the foods I ate didn't affect me. It's as if I didn't eat like that. Two, I'm not likely to eat like that again. Even though I was legitimately sick and didn't just make myself sick, it leaves a scar, ya know?

That was the first truly off-plan day I've had in over a year.

Default Yup!

It is so true that one thing leads too another! But look at your body fighting back, getting rid of the bad stuff! Good for you if that is your first binge in over a year!

I wouldn't call it a binge though. The only abnormal portion I had was the spaghetti. Everything else was of normal portions, just foods I wouldn't normally eat. 1/2 a pancake, a biscuit, half an omelette with cheese and a couple small spoons full of home fries. The later a cup of cocoa. Still later, too much spaghetti.

So not a binge, just bad foods.

Hummm.

I don't really know what to say. Are you looking for a "YAY" on the 3 pound loss, or a "boo" on the poor food choices. OR maybe you want a..."That's okay, you worked so hard". Kind of response.

Anyway, hopefully bad eating does not beget more bad eating... Oh, and I hope you feel better soon. Did you have the stomach flu, (fever, chills) or was the vomiting from eating poorly?

Hope you are back on the mend soon from the stomach bug. That is the worst! As to the food choices, it sounds like you tried to maintain portion control. It's done and over and you can make different choices today.

No, I think I was just talking. The irony and all. No pats on the back, certainly. A little commissary maybe?

Even a mom and pop breakfast place has good choices - I would get 2 poached eggs, dry toast and a side of fruit or tomatoes.

Hope you're feeling better this morning Eliana. I get the aversion therapy thing.

Try to stay hydrated today if you can and take care.
