Threadkiller 22.

Threadkiller 21 is dead, no one has opened a new thread so I will step up to the plate.

Zan administered the final blow to Threadkiller 21. I was waiting for her to come up with a new exotic title but since she didn't do so, we will go with the plain and simple variety.

Spent the afternoon with all the house windows open. Nice balmy sunny day. Outside the window are the red hibiscus blooms, oranges and grapefruit nearly ready to pick on the trees and Poinsettias in flower pots out front. I'm going to be making tollhouse cookies this afternoon for Santa. (Mr. WebRover has been asking for them every day for a week after he bought the GIANT size bag of Nestle's morsels at SAM's.) Cookies are not on my eating plan, but I guarantee I'll eat a few today, and a few more tomorrow. Let's hope they're all gone by then. The first batch out of the oven is usually eaten as I take them off the pan.

Even had to buy milk yesterday so there would be some to go with the cookies for him. (I'm not and have never been a milk drinker.)

Speaking of pears, a guest asked if it was OK to bring a pear appetizer.

"Certainly," I said with confidence that we'd have one more rational food choice.

Turned out that she meant a hot-from-the-oven pear tart where the purpose of the crust was to absorb all the oils and become heavenly. Hardly rational, but certainly yummy.

Our recycling driver is female - a small female, 5'0" max. Yep, our local paper is an evening one. We actually have a "paper box" which is similar to a mail box...and most of the time it is in there. And there is a mysterious orange dot on the box and one of the front pillars...so we are marked! I think it is the morning paper...but not sure!

WebRover
12-29-2010, 05:50 AM
We used to take two daily papers and got the free weekly local paper. Our paper recycling box was FULL every week and we had a challenge if we weren't home on a recycling day. (Note the clever combination of two topics from above. Not that there's any requirement for any post to relate to any other post in this thread.)

Now we subscribe to one paper online and still get the free weekly local paper. If we want to pick it up from a box, there's a version of one of the paid daily papers for free!

On this thread, this will not be confused with OT (Off Topic) in OT (Off Threadkiller) threads.
