how many daily pts do you get? curious how many people ended up with 29.. my husband is super lucky, he gets 57!! he thinks he can never eat that many a day and lose so we'll see, lol. I get 29 (was 22 on old plan) what are you? (I know some of you are still waiting for your meetings etc so just post once you know :) )

42 now.

no activities levels, and maybe, just maybe, that's part of the reason so many are on 29? I do know 29 is the minimum number of pointsplus required to get your daily nutritional needs. If you don't eat all 29, you are not getting your nutritional needs met.

Ok, I don't think I should do any more of them though. I feel kinda guilty. Maybe someone will have the calculations figured out soon . . . I know the points calculations are out there on wiki. Not something you can do in your head though.

So far it does look like a lot of people are on 29.

The magic number is 29! I'm really excited to start the new plan, going to my weekly meeting in the morning =D Change is a good thing, scary but good :dizzy:

On the left hand side you will see the first button at the top that has a wrench on it. Press that button. "Set up" will appear then, it will go through these prompts:

Age? enter age then press "enter" (which is the last button on the bottom row)
Female? press enter
Height? enter height then press "enter"
Weight? enter weight then press "enter"
Lose? press enter
Daily points will appear.
Good luck!

**If you want to erase your set up information and start again, press the wrench button and your Daily points will show. Press and hold "enter" for several seconds and it will ask you to start "set up" again.**

Dear fit40,
Thank you so very much. Mt eyes are weary and I am falling asleep but first thing in the morning I will plug in the numbers. I am hoping this is a better plan but it seems very complicated right now.Good luck to you and all in the daily struggle.

I was 18 on the old plan and I'm 29 now. I'm a bit worried about overdoing fruits but happy to have the extra points. I was really hungry that first week.

I was 24, now I'm 29P+

Do all the people asking for their new Points Plus target know that the points have changed on all the foods? If you're doing it at home, you have to get updated info for the foods. You can't just update your Points Plus target and then follow the old food list. Maybe you all know this already, but I just worry that someone might not know and then have a huge gain, so I thought I should mention it! :-)

Female
5'4
26 yrs old
230.2 lbs

My daily point target is 36.

Also the people asking about what their point target would be, we are not allowed to give out that info. Plus we have no way of telling you how to figure it out, the formula seems to be very different. Join a WW meeting or sign up online. Also the points for foods has changed as well, it would be impossible to explain so my advice is join a meeting/online or else I can guarantee that you will be doing the program wrong.

I actually get 42. It feels like a lot, but it really isn't much more than I used to get.

I do like this new program though. :carrot:

FYI - I cleaned this thread up a bit. Here at 3FC, we don't mind discussing points of food items or even your personal points. We also don't mind something in the sense of 'hey my calculator is broken, need help with 1 thing' type questions.

With the new plan, obviously you need to own the materials to know how to apply your points so knowing your personal allowed points won't do anything for you. So if you want to say 'hey I love beets, they are zero points!' or 'hey I'm down to 30 points!', go for it. We want to allow our users flexibility and I think you get more flexibility here than the WW boards but we don't want to abuse that flexibility.

Nelie, thanks! Knowing your overall points won't do you any good unless you have the new materials/calculators anyway, since the points are calculated differently now.

I like coming to the 3FC weight watcher board so much more than the official boards. So much more support here (not to mention, this board is just easier on my eyes!)

My calculator (and meeting people) say that I get 37, I weigh 224 right now. I feel like I should get less. I am making 29 my goal each day, simply because that seems to be what everyone else at my meeting is doing. If I am really hungry, I will approach 37, but not often. I wonder at what weight increments the points plus goals go down. Before it was every decade, but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know?

Hey everyone..I just started this yesterday and I get 29 points a day. So far I've done okay but I've been a little hungry. Any suggestions for foods that are low in points?

Wow, I feel like I get a lot compared to the rest of you, and some of you are at a higher weight than me. I know I get allotted more points because I breastfeed so that may be why. As long as I am losing weight consistently I guess it all works out. lol ;)

Just for some perspective, I am at the same weight as you, but I'm 2" shorter and I have 35 points per day. I've had 35 points since switching over to points plus and I've been consistently losing. I'd be hesitant to eat fewer of the points plus per day. It may work in the short term, but I would be concerned with how it would affect my metabolism in the long run.

You get 35 and are an inch taller than me, I get 33. I think age also has something to do with it. I had gone down about 6 pounds so I inquired about my daily points and the leader recalcuated it for me. I dropped from 34 to 33. You can figure it out yourself if you have a calculator too.

Quick question for anyone who knows the answer.

I do WW online and with the old points system when you logged your weight on your weigh in day it would tell you it was time to recalculate your points, take you to that screen to update info and then calculate them for you. Is that going to happen with the new PP program? I have weighed in three times without any change. :( Wondering if I need to do it manually now.

A long-time unsuccessful diet ever since I did Atkins (about 9 years ago now) and lost 3.5 stones, but paid for it with high blood pressure and elevated cholestrerol. I have decided to begin 2011 with weight watchers (some place in London), and aim to lose the 3.5 stones I put back on plus the extra two stones I have added to that over the last five years... So. Anybody know about a really brilliant London WW meeting (preferably in central or central east london) they could recommend.

My points went from 36 to 35, all the etools did was pop up a screen that said my points were changed to 35 due to weight loss or something like that. It does it automatically and the lady at my meeting also pointed out that my points were being reduced. I'm averaging a pound a week.

I so agree, I was reading about this lady who never ate her WP and once she made it to goal she was never able to raise her points because she would gain weight from even the slightest increase in points. She can't eat out or anything and she wishes that she would have started out eating more.

I just joined last night. I get 35 points.

For those who have an evening meeting, when do you restart your week? The following morning? Or that evening? When I went before I always went in the morning and counted that as day 1 of the week (and didn't eat beforehand so I'd be as light as possible lol).

I get 29 points a day - I rarely use all of my daily points (I am trying to get better at that) but I even used extra weekly points over the weekend and still lost weight.

I really like the WW program - I have never done the old one but the Pointsplus program allows me flexibility. I think that the old motto everything in moderation must be taken into account.. in other words free fruit does not really mean 4 bananas, 5 oranges and a bushel of grapes..although that does sound good :)

I weigh in on Saturday and have my week start the same day.

At one time I tried to have my week start the next day but it tended to result in me overeating after I had weighed in since the rest of that day was the tail end of day 7.
