Everyone is welcome to post fitness and exercise goals for December here and then track them through the month. Track your workouts, your minutes, the times you take the steps instead of the elevators, anything that gets you moving more whether the goal is big or small.
State your goal in a post. I will add your goal to the goal list. When you reach your goal, it gets turned Red.

I'm going for 1500 minutes in December.

For those of you who can't get too much Christmas in December, I have a present for you. This is a free 45-minute dance video (http://www.thinqfitness.com/video/LJ/Lucy_Case_Christmas_Workout)that is a nice low-key workout for the days I don't feel like working out. It's festive, silly, and very British. Hope you like it!

I am trying to increase my cardio this month. I want to set a goal of 1200 minutes of cardio, whether it be from biking, walking, running, or elliptical machines.

I'm flying home for Christmas for 9 days and as much as I'd like to say I'll manage exercise every day while I'm there, I'm just not sure how possible that will be. SO, I'll try for an ambitious 1200 mins and I'll see how I get on.

Hey there

Was really unwell for the last week of November and the goal totally went, but I am so excited by how I did for the first 3 weeks that definitely I'm up for the December challenge. I think I'll set a daily challenge this time though - I'd like to do 45 mins/day.

This adds up to just under 1400 mins for the month, but as a way NOT to skip the days I'll go for a min of 45/day, rather than the overall goal. I think I'll set a goal of meeting the 45 mins/day target 6 of every 7 days.

My goal for December is to rekindle my love of my elliptical trainer lol

Here we go!! To a target of 45 mins a day, 6 days in 7... day marked with :barbell: every time target is met...

EDIT: I'm having to rearrange my 'weeks' as my workout week has to run Monday - Sunday to make 6/7 possible (otherwise it's 5/7 then 7/7 because of work patterns!)...

Week 1
29th - 40 mins swim, 10 mins balance board - :barbell:
30th - 45 mins swim, 10 mins balance board - :barbell:

Thus far (between yesterday and today, 2 Dec 2010) I have completed 105 minutes of cardio with 60 minutes of walking yesterday and 45 minutes of running today to put towards my goal of 1200 minutes of cardio for the month of December. :cp: In addition to the cardio today, I also completed 30 minutes of strength training using free weights. I think I'm off to a good start. :D

Hopefully soon my goals can be as intensive as some of yours, I think I need to boost up my cardio but my legs are already sooo tired after just 2 days...I am a work in progress haha

Even though Monday and Tuesday were in November I'm counting the workouts I did because it is part of this week. I'm going to do my second HITT workout today, and then a workout tomorrow makes my goals for the first week.

Dang it! I totally screwed up this weekend. I was so busy, I had almost no time to do formal exercise. I'm gonna try to sneak in something this evening so it's not a complete bust!

Back exercises are going great. The daily stretching is very relaxing. I've only done 30 minutes of cardio. I did buy Dance Dance 2 for the Wii and I'm really looking forward to doing that.

Man, this is a bad way to start off the month--I haven't tracked food or exercise since the first.

12.1: 25 min. Circuit training, 50 min. zumba
12.2: 60 min. zumba (? I didn't track it, so don't really remember)
12.3: 40 min. Circuit training (? I'm pretty sure this was what I did)
12.4: Swimming (well, sort of--pool aerobics, don't really know how long)
12.5: 20 minutes elliptical machine at the hotel--all I had time for

Okay, now I'm back home and ready to get back with the program... Thanks gardenerjoy, for keeping the thread going! My goal for the month is no more than one day off per week, and circuit training 2-3 times per week.

Over the weekend I had a cardio burst. After work on Friday, I did 90 minutes of various cardio along with a lower body workout. On saturday, I was on the treadmill for 60 minutes of cardio followed by 60 minutes of aerobics. Sunday mirrored saturday's activities with another 60/60 session of cario and aerobics. Combine that with my last post of the previous 105 minutes of cardio to bring me to a total of 435 minutes of cardio thus far towards my goal of 1200 minutes of cardio. :cheer: I'm on my way!!! Great job to everyone else for also staying focused and active. Your focus gives me focus! :)

Did 38 minutes of cardio on the treadmill yesterday followed by 30 minutes of strength training with free weights. I plan to hit the gym again today, during lunch, to do 60 minutes of cardio. After work, my exercise plan calls for 45 minutes of core training, 30 minutes more of cardio, and 15 minutes of upper body strength training. I will update my 'ticker' tomorrow to reflect the progress. Hope everyone else is having a great day. :)

Hi all

I've had to rearrange my 'weeks' to make the 6/7 goal fit in with my work schedule (I have one day/week where exercise just isn't possible, but it changes between Tues and Thurs...) - Monday - Sunday works best for me. So...

7th - none
8th - 20mins JM's 30DS, 45 mins pilates - :barbell:
9th - bugger, another day missed. :( Hey ho!! Straight back on it tomorrow! :)

elaine19: consider strength training at home using your own body weight (push ups, crunches) and heavy objects like filled milk jugs or heavy books. It can be a nice way to mix things up with your gym workout.

I was aiming for just 5 min a day this month for 55 min. Instead I did 21min today and now am at 49min/155min for the month. I'm glad I started up again! I've moved myself deliberately 3 days out of 10 so far... three days more than the last few months for sure!

Today, I weighed and measured myself. I went down 2.00 pounds since last week as well as 1/2 inch gone on BOTH my waist AND my hips! I'm feeling pretty awesome about my progress this week. :woohoo:

I made sure to stay active on my food and fitness plan through out the weekend as well. My fitness for the weekend consisted of 90 minutes of cardio on the treadmill on Saturday followed by 50 minutes of combined cardio and strength training on the PS3 Acitive 2. Sunday's fitness consisted of 30 minutes of light cardio and 45 minutes of cardio and strength on the PS3 Active 2. (I'm liking the PS3 Active 2, Low impact, High Intensity!) Today's Fitness Plan: - 60 minutes of cardio via treadmill
- 45 minutes cardio & lower body strength training
- 30 minutes via PS3 Active 2

didn't quite manage 6/7 in week 2, did 4/7. It's fine, I'm not going to beat myself up about it, I know what happened and I'm at peace (!) with the decisions I made, if not entirely happy with them... :)

On track with my goals this week so far.

I did my first HIIT yesterday and then some light step aerobics after for about 20 minutes. Today I'm probably going to do an easier workout, most likely Turbo Jam Cardio Party or Cardio Party 2 and maybe Ab Jam as well.

Tomorrow is a rest day, and I'll most likely do my second HIIT on Friday.

Bunneh, Good job on the HIIT. The PS3 Active 2 that I do uses HIIT strategy at least two times a week. I feel like a weak blob of jello when it's over. :D

I can't be bothered to track here daily since I track in My Fitness Pal, but I've been doing well sticking with 3 days/wk of circuit training--alternating circuit training with cardio.

All the Zumba videos I did on YouTube have been taken down because the Zumba people are idiots and don't want their certified instructors inspiring people to do Zumba--presumably because they can't make money off it. Bummer. Anyway, I'm trying to find other videos and new inspiration for my cardio workouts.

Gardenerjoy: how's your back feeling? I hope it heals soon--and be careful in the icy weather!

Good job everyone, working hard to keep those holiday pounds away!

Well I didn't make the December challenge, but I've gotten a lot of exercise in this past week. Just Dance 2, I love it!
