AND had a super workout this morning - I'm staying with the same split as last month from CPB - just changed the exercises up a bit.
So what did I do for my b-day yesterday?? Went shopping - bought a bedside lamp which I sorely needed and some new cross-training shoes (I prefer New Balance). If you want to put a bit of life into your workout, I recommend buying some new shoes - mine were well over a year old and had lost their 'spring'.
AND I'm back eating clean. It was so good to have my Pamcake this morning!!! Yeahhhhhh!
Mom sent me this note last week...it's kind of mushy but she is such a sweetheart and tends to get a bit sentimental on our birthdays...I just wanted to share it with y'all!
I'm just sitting here remembering the week 40 years ago when you were born (one month early). I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed by an oral surgeon. My jaw swelled up like you wouldn't believe and I felt pretty miserable all around. Due to the infection, I went into early labor and the rest is history.
You were such a tiny, pretty little baby and I loved you so much that I managed to keep you in my bed for most of the night because the nurses were so busy they were late picking you up after you nursed. You had a head of dark black hair and big dark eyes, even then. It was a cold night in Washington, D.C. , but you and I were all snug and warm in our bed.
You must be very busy in London. Take care and fly home safely. Much love and a very happy birthday week, mom
Gotta make this short but I'll be typing more later...now I have to tie up loose ends from last week's meeting and start planning the NEXT one in January...acck! But first - gotta go to the fridge and get my sweet potato and cottage cheese mix out!

Hey Karen: glad to hear that you had a good birthday!
Ledom: from the other post - ok I see what you mean and I totally agree that the free meals are an alternative way to handle hard times socially.
Me - well it's a lovely Tuesday morning here and I am sitting here with my first cup of coffee for the day. For some reason I feel really peaceful today so I am leisurely easing myself into work. I went for a run last night which was hard but rewarding and had an early night's sleep.
How's everyone doing?

Mrs Jim,
I am glad you had a nice Birthday, and the note your mom gave you was beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I am thinking of getting a new pair of cross trainers too, so maybe I will check out New Balance. My brother and sister-in-law swear they are the best shoe they have ever had on their feet.
My day was great. Got up this morning, called my friend and off me headed to the gym. She has been sick and not able to get to the gym in a while and has really missed it. So she was very eager to get back at it. I had a great Lower Body workout this morning, and I hit at least one 10 so not too bad.
Rememberance day here so everyone home! We spent a relaxing day together, before a busy week begins.
Hope you all had and are having a nice Monday.

Had a GREAT chest and quad workout today, barely walked outta the gym, but I may have to rearrange my split because it's a bit much! I do have to function the rest of the day. Anybody have an interesting 4 day split they like? I'm even considering a 5 day, a dropping to 2 cardio sessions, any ideas?
Eating is a whole nother story- have some potentially scarey health problems that I don't yet have full diagnosis on, and am having real troubles with keeping clean at night. Last meal has variously consisted of nutella and cookies, caramel corn, or 2 glasses of wine. Since these are the first two glasses of anything alcoholic since last summer, they packed a BIG punch! Seems like everytime I think I've crossed the abyss, another bigger one swallows me for a while.
I'll pull myself together soon, I know I'm not going to waste the last year and a half, but right now it's tough.
Today one of the older women (like I'm not-haha) in the gym asked if I was one of the trainers and could I help her with something. I was really flattered, disabused her of that idea, and helped. Felt good.
Welcome back Karen- glad you had a nice b'day and the message from your mom was really sweet! Wish mine had something nice to say once in a while....

Hey everyone,
I am only on week 4 for my first challenge so I am sort of new to this whole BFL but I am doing well. I haven't cheated yet:D
I am doing pretty well and on my day off i actually miss the clean food. I can't eat much on my day off..sort of feels like my stomach is a different size...i guess that's the cruel irony of having a day off right?
I had an awesome lower workout today! I was really sweating my *** off. I put the leg press up one more weight today..and I did awesome! I finished all of the reps :D
So tomorrow is cardio...and gawd is it hard..not really looking forward to it...but in a way I am :dizzy: strange eh?
I ate totally clean again today...its been good...i think on my next day off i will eat mostly clean but I might add cheese to one of my meals

in to say Hi and that week 7 is off to a good start. When I do my workouts I really think about you guys. How hard are they pushing themselves? Is my effort worthy? I nag myself along to get the best out of myself.
Mel, sounds as if your in an emotional tizzy w/ uncertainly about a health problem? I wish the very best for you as you deal with this.
OSC, I know exactly what you mean about a shrinking stomach. I couldn't believe what a stomach ache I gave myself on free day this week. Definitely not enough room to hold what I thought I could eat. I don't want to feel that way again any time soon. Also, cheese is the thing I miss most during the week. Love that cheese.
Tomorrow is that silly lunch I have to go to. I'd like all this trauma over one meal to be about something that I actually cared about doing. I'm hoping I can just nibble on something that works and poke things around on my plate that don't and then go eat my BFL meal. It's not even as if it will be quality food, probably sandwiches made on croissants. Sigh!

Off on week two, so good so far. I know exactly what you mean about free day blahs! I though you were all , looking for a nice word, can't find on, "full of it", pardon me. But after eating clean all week and then going back to three larger meals I was absolutely stuffed and could not wait for the day to end.
Anyway , did my 20 cardio, hauled my tired butt home and now must shower before work.
Chat later all,

Hey everyone,
I had a blowout last night! I was craving carbs so badly that I found myself wandering through the supermarket looking for food. I ended up buying a packet of chips and eating them and although I made a bad decision - I have to admit it took a load off my mind for some reason. But anyway mistake is over and I am 100% clean again today - thank goodness I had my food ready to go this morning. But of course the blowout did include some water retention and swollen feet this morning which I was not impressed about. I am such an idiot sometimes I should have just eaten some fruit instead of something so salty.
I have summer soccer starting tonight which I am so looking forward to! I missed my workout this morning so I told work that I have an appointment this afternoon so that I can get to the gym for my back/bi workout before soccer. The boss is sick anyways so much much to do around here today. Thank goodness as well because I need the break.
I have to think of some new mental thoughts to get me through this session of CPB. The old self-talk isn't cutting it these days so any ideas anyone?
OH I submitted my opinion to a magazine about a diet they were showing in their magazine and I just heard that it is going to get published in the next edition! Wow how cool is that?! :D :D
Well I need a refill on the water bottle talk to you all later.

a week from today I will be 49 :fr: . What'cha gonna do?
Got to tell you guys about that lunch yesterday. First on the food. I ate about 1/4 of what was on my plate. I decided just to call it my meal and forget about. I didn't eat enough to do great damage. It sure wasn't a great eating day, but it wasn't bad either. BUT a coincidental and neat thing happened, I was seated next to the Strength Coach at lunch. Now wasn't that fortuitous? I am in the art department, and my path never crosses any of the athletics people. I got so excited when he was introduced. Lunch was very high tone chit chat, but when we shoved back our chairs after lunch I pounced! I told him more than he ever wanted to know about what I was doing. It was so cool, he knew exactly what I was talking about and told me he'd answer any questions or help me out any time I wanted. Now I think I would feel comfortable wandering down to the weight room at school and checking things out.
Well, just wanted to tell you guys how it all turned out. Better than I ever expected.

Thats great Ledom,
All that worry over nothing!
As for me , I have been eating clean all week and right on with my weight training. I did upper body this morning and am I sore, oh yeah! But it feels great too. Went to TOPS last night and have lost 2 of the miserable 4 lbs I gained last week. So things are looking up. I can really feel the muscles in my legs and I even noticed the muscles in my arms today. SO cool to start to notice them now, under all that fat.
Yeah!

Hey you guys! I had the worst time trying to access the site (server problems - see Suzanne's note at the top of the forum) and I was dog tired last night...so taking a couple of precious minutes here at work to post!
I did legs yesterday...and WOW are my hammies sore today - but it's a GOOD SORE.
JC - I hear ya, chick :) It can be tough after awhile - those carbs just CALL to you. Actually I haven't been so awesome myself eating wise. If only the eating part came as easily as the workouts to me - then I'd be set! It just seems that all I want to eat right now is Pamcakes. Yesterday I left my 'work food' on the kitchen counter - that was a first for me - which meant I had to go to my fallback position of cottage cheese and grapefruit for Meal #2 and tuna pouch w/salad for Meal #3. Ugghhh...plus my house is a mess right now! Jim wouldn't let me clean house on Sunday, it being my birthday and all - besides I wasn't feeling really up to it - took me the entire weekend to get over the jetlag!
I called my trainer (Dee Dee) earlier this week and scheduled a private lesson for tomorrow night after work - making up for the Saturday lesson which was rained out. She is such a sweetheart - I'm still hoping to be able to swing a lease on Norman starting in the next month or so...and she has ANOTHER horse - an Arabian/Quarter cross - coming into the barn next week. Aack - I always fall in love with 'em!
This is so funny - for the past few months, Jim has had a TERRIBLE time sleeping through the night (not usually a problem with me - I know my regular morning workouts have a lot to do with that). I had one last sleeping pill left from the ones my doctor gave me (Ambien) so last night I smushed it up, mixed the powder into a hot apple cider and gave it to Jim (I was going to hide it in his soup, but didn't want to give it to him that early) around 8:00 pm last night. He drank it at about 8:15 (let it cool a bit) and around 8:35 - BAM! He started getting all incoherent and sleepy...so we both toddled off to bed around 8:45. Within 3 minutes of his head hitting the pillow, he started snoring (not loudly, just occasionally). Sparky promptly snuggled up next to his shoulder and purred himself to sleep...and Jim STAYED asleep until 6:40 am this morning - woke up refreshed and we got to work 20 minutes early! I know I can't do that again but felt he needed at least one good nights' sleep for a change! Now if I could just get him to work out...this wouldn't be a problem would it?

Sorry for not being around too much -- I've been fighting off a cold/flu thing, so have been dragging a bit. I highly recommend night-time cough medicine as a substitute for Ambien. I've been suffering from this cough for the past few weeks that seems to kick in the worse when I try to sleep. A dose of cough medicine (it's 10% alcohol, BTW, which I didn't know before), and I'm out like a light.
I've been able to make most of my work-outs (I've missed one), but they're not at the 10-level. More like 8s and 9s. I console myself with the thought that at least I'm still hitting the gym in the a.m.
JC: Are you skipping free days on CPB? The main thing that keeps me clean during the week is the thought that I can have it (whatever it may be) on my free day. Another mental trick I play with myself: I recall a trip I once took that was almost ruined because I was just too out of shape to actually do what I was doing (hiking in mountains). I remember how miserable I felt then, and then think about some up-coming trips I have planned (particularly scuba diving) and tell myself the Twinkies (or whatever) are just not worth the misery of being out of shape at 10,000 feet. This mental game has also really helped me stay on track.
Virginia, Ledom & OSC -- Congrats on eating clean and working out!
I hope everyone is having a great Wednesday. 'Til tomorrow. Mox
P.S. Welcome back and happy belated birthday, Karen. And happy soon-to-be birthday, Ledom.

Ledom: I am not going to do anything! I just wanted to let everyone know so we can wish you a happy birthday. I found out by reading one of the other threads yesterday.
Man I wish that I would meet some people like that - I'm jealous!
Virginia: by the way that's my favourite name! What is TOPS?
MrsJim: I did legs this morning. I back/bis last night so by the end of this morning's workout after my deadlifts my back was really feeling it. I went up a few weights in my squats which was pleasing but the lunges killed me! I nearly fell down the stairs at home after my shower because my legs gave out on me :^: Gotta love a great workout. :dizzy:
As for the carb blowout - it seemed strange to me that I have coped before with this but why did I have such a bad day? :chin: I looked over my menus again and would you believe it I left out a carb in my lunch (corn) so my carbs for the day where like 45 gms. Ouch! :o NO WONDER I wasn't coping. I will be more careful in my cooking next time. This morning I had the apple pie breakfast and it was divine after a low calorie day. :cloud9: I feel much better now! I played soccer last night and I actually scored a goal! Hubby said that I run rings around the other girls now which was sweet.
With Jim and the sleeping although some people may disagree with it - I would have done the same thing. It's hard to watch someone you love go through something so annoying - have you thought about talking to him with regards to it? You are right though if he worked out more he would sleep like a baby. Ray and I sleep right through the night and don't even stir until the alarm goes off.
Mox: I hope that you are feeling better mate. Yes I only get a free meal on Saturday nights with Pam's program and I have been sticking to that. I don't have a problem with it and like I said I was craving carbs not chips specifically and I have now realised it was because I didn't eat all the carbs I was meant too the day. I don't particularly miss free day that much but I kinda miss the freedom of not worrying about when I am eating. It's nice not to have to watch the clock you know? What I have been eating for free meals (2 so far) isn't really that bad either, just larger quantities and normally more carbs. I haven't even touched chocolate in 3 weeks! :fr: I am at the point where I had to give up free day and go to free meal to kick start the fatloss again. I seem to have hit my fatloss threshold and breaking through it is becoming very hard.
I hope that everyone else is doing great!

Well done Virginia! I can sympathise with you because my quads are killing me as well. I rolled over last night in bed so the dog moved with me (yes my boys sleep in our bed) and Ben stepped on my quad to go across me and OMG it hurt so bad I could have screamed! This morning I was in the shower trying to loosen them up so that I could walk.

JC, that is so interesting about the chips and corn - how you traced it back.
I have been doing lots of reading on the L&S board. I have finally been able to access the training library. Lot's of good info there. I also picked up a really good magazine this week, it is the summer special issue that Muscle Media puts out.
I have one more week of the exercises I am doing for the 2nd third of the diet. I am ready to change. Somehow I don't think leg extensions and curls are as effective as the lunges and squats I was doing the first third. Extensions aren't so bad, but I am having a hard time getting my bench adjusted to do curls comfortably. I don't want to give up though because I can tell I am learning more each time I try.
And, today I made the eggplant stew from the L&S recipe board. Very good, great for a cold winter night.

Hi y'all! I have been superbusy again this week :)
Remember I took last week off while in London - well this week I'm back in the gym and BOY are my muscles (the ones I've worked so far anyway) SORE! Mostly my hammies, bi's and back. I have been hitting it HARD this week and it feels good!
Today was blood drive day...so I'm just feeling a bit tired right now...and tonight after work (in about 2 hours that is) I have a private riding lesson with Dee Dee. I'm drinking a Diet Coke right now - hoping the caffiene will take effect. I'm sure once I get out of the office I'll be fine. Of course the blood drive folks said no strenuous exercise - but a 45-minute riding lesson isn't the same as doing a HIIT session - although I often break a sweat during the class!
This morning for me was 45 minutes moderate cardio - I usually start off on the elliptical and then finish the last 15 minutes on the treadmill at a VERY brisk walk on the highest incline (15%). Probably the reason my hammies are screamin'.
JC - I think the TOPS you're referring to is the group (similar to Weight Watchers, only it's been around longer) "Take Off Pounds Sensibly" which I believe WW was modeled on (correct me if I'm wrong) - at least the group support part. I've never been to a TOPS meeting but I have read about them.
Also, I only had one Ambien left so I thought Jim needed it - I gotta tell you that yesterday he was PEPPY! (Wouldn't you be after a good night's sleep?) Actually I confessed to him last night, but I got him some melatonin along with some valerian tea bags to use once in awhile. That and I give him a scalp massage which he LOVES (the horses enjoy it too). My boss SWEARS by melatonin when she can't sleep - I'll have to do some more research on it.
Ledom - you're working out at home, right? Is your bench set up for lying leg curls or seated curls? I actually ALWAYS include leg extentions in my quad/ham day - but I vary it by using different machines - we have three leg extention machines, all with a different 'feel' and angle. And for ham curls, our gym has a plethora of machines - two regular Nautilus lying leg curls, two seated leg curl, a plate-loaded lying curl (with a KILLER angle - ow!) and a "Hamtractor". My work gym has the standing leg curl which is fun too - but I prefer working out at my friendly 24 Hour Fitness rather than the work gym (even though the company just spent a major sum on new equipment and improvements - including TOWELS - they now supply towels! Isn't that great - plus a bunch of fitness classes and a massage service on Wednesdays so we're quite spoiled here, I'm afraid  ) Anyway, you don't have to COMPLETELY switch the exercises - switch to a new 'primary' quad exercise and keep one of the favorites for that last set. (It's been awhile since I've done a BFL style workout so bear with me if I'm saying that wrong).
Oh I mentioned this on the L&S board - but I just purchased a tub of BioTest Grow! (Robb P. INSISTS on the proper brand name being used including the exclamation point :) He is such a darling - reminds me a bit of my own luvbug Jim) to try out instead of my usual MyoLite Cap Ice MRP. After hearing everyone else rave about the taste (like cake batter!! YUM!) I couldn't resist. Actually it's quite reasonable - about $32 for 18 'man-sized' servings (40g protein) which I can cut in half for 36 servings. How cool is that! I'll let y'all know how it tastes.
Well, I have another paper to finish up and then I'm outie!
Mel
11-14-2002, 07:45 PM
haha- couldn't think of anything else to put in the subjects line!
I am finally recovered from my quad workout on Monday :o so tomorrow I'll try to destroy my legs once again doing hamstrings! I've found that separating them has made an enormous difference! Those of you doing C1or 2, follow the book! But those of you further along might want to give it a try. Besides, it gives the added benefit of being exquisitely sore-legged twice a week!
Ledom- You're right, those extensions and curls are not doing for you what squats and lunges do, but you have to change up your routines otherwise they'll stop doing much of anything. Basically, the more body parts (or more of your body) thats in motion during an exercise, the harder you are working. Compare a squat to an extension: while squatting, you are 1) holding yourself erect and balancing using your core muscles and your legs, 2) moving your whole body downwards while supporting it and weights with your quads, calves and glutes, then pushing everything back up with your quads, glutes, hamstrings (if you go low enough) while supporting weight either across your shouders or in your hands. Doing extensions, your butt is on a seat, so the only thing that's moving are the 4 different parts of your quad. Both good exercises, but the squat is a LOT MORE WORK! And a lunge is just a complicated squat. I've foud doing curls with a home bench very frustrating. Can never get comfortable and once actually pinched my skin quite painfully. Have you looked at flat-back deadlifts as an alternate for hamstrings? Once you get the form right, they are very effective. You need some sort of platform (I use an old aerobics step) and either dumbells or a bar.
Virgina: Still sore? Wait til tomorow- I usually get sorer on the second day! Do you take glutamine?
JC- kinda funny about the carb blowout. I've never been able to trace mine to something so concrete. Now you know! I wish mine were that logical.
Karen- at the risk of sounding preachy, i don't think adminstering drugs to someone without his knowledge is a good idea. i had a really bad reaction to that drug and would have been terrified if i hadn't known that i'd taken something.

Mel: yeah I am pretty in tune with my body so when something happens I usually find a logical reason. I go by the theory food is fuel so when it doesn't feel like fuel it feels like more of an emotion - there has to be a reason for it. Sometimes this lifestyle seems more like a science subject than a eating plan!
I am still so sore - I have been in the bathroom a few times to do 5 quick squats to try and warm up the muscle up a bit and relieve the pain. It's working thank goodness. Sometimes I hate being in a job where I have to sit on my butt so much.
MrsJim: Good on you for giving blood. I have it in my diary for tomorrow I think or next weekend maybe..... I try and give every 12 weeks.

And what a BEEYOUTIFUL morning it is (quoting Debbie Reynolds in "Singin' in the Rain"). It's supposed to be in the 70's here today. Not bad for November!
Last night's private riding lesson was WONDERFUL. Usually one of the 'Kramerettes' (Dee Dee proteges - they're in high school but Sarah is in the Top Five Junior riders in the Northern California Region) instructs the class on Saturday...but having Dee Dee herself give me a private lesson is a treat. I just felt totally competent - it wasn't that long ago that I was having trouble staying on the diagonal during the posting trot :)
JC - I give blood every 8 weeks or so - whenever the Blood Drive comes to work. They call me, email me and send letters reminding me!!! Actually the part I hate about it is the finger stick - when they test your blood for iron. Back in my vegetarian days, I would never pass the iron test - I was probably borderline anemic. Since starting BFL though, no problem!
Did shoulders/abs/calves today - put in a couple of new shoulder exercises - new to me anyway - that I picked up from books. I've been feeling a little sore in my delts on the right side, so have removed overhead presses and Arnold presses from my repertoire for the time being. I did do overhead lats though, and bent-over L raises (sitting bent over with knees together, dumbbell in each hand, palms facing each other, elbows bent at a 90 degree angle and remain so during the exercise - lifting the arms back) which are new to me!
Gotta run - more later! Can't wait until the weekend - more riding and then *ugh* cleaning the pigsty!!! It really needs it!

Hey everyone. I'm having a hard time this challenge, keeping everything in order. First, I can't shake this cold/flu thing, which has me feeling way low energy. (I'm planning to have a quiet, restful weekend, which I hope will be enough to get my immune system back into shape.) Then, on Wednesday, I had a blow-out dinner with some friends -- we were commiserating about some bad news a friend recently got and decided to go to a French bistro. (I should have held out for a seafood restaurant or something like that.) Anyway, I won't go into the gory details, but French food isn't known for its light and low-fat sauces. Finally, after dinner, I was walking back to the car when I tripped (it seems that every street and sidewalk in Chicago is undergoing construction at all times), and twisted my ankle. It's still swollen and hurts. So, although I did an UBWO today, I skipped the cardio yesterday, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it tomorrow. Sigh. I intend to re-read parts of the BFL book this weekend as well, and really try to hit the food/work-outs hard next week.
I'm so glad to hear that everyone else here has been having a good week -- I get inspired when I read about all of your efforts to stay on the straight and narrow. Keep it up!
Have a great weekend everyone. Mox

This morning after my UBWO, I was flexing in front of the mirror before showering and noticed something interesting happening where my traps and delts meet. I like it!
Also, I absolutely don't trust the measurements I took with the tape measure, it can make such a difference if you do it loosely, still loose but a little more snug. Bah, it's frustrating. So what do you go by. I know, pics, but I didn't do befores. I can kind of remember and I think I see the change. Clothes, well I notice there too. I think I am down a size. Sizing is such a crap shoot but I was wearing a tight 22 Jones of New York pants and yesterday I bought a 20 in the same brand. So maybe that means I am down a size? I wear an 18 top.
And then I was wondering if you ladies that have been around the block with BFL could tell me one more time that at some point the changes will come more quickly? Of course until I plateau or get close to goal? Well, sometimes I just need to hear that. I am ready for the morning I wake up and see a BIG difference. Or the day someone else notices.
I am enjoying the journey, don't get me wrong.

Patience and persistence, m'dear...
We haven't heard from Susanje in awhile...I suspect that she's been busy with her son and impending move to Texas...but she didn't see results until WEEK 10.
If you haven't taken photos yet DO SO NOW - at least you'll have a barometer for the future! Photos and the Pants-O-Meter, in truth, are the only really accurate measuring tools IMO.
I didn't start seeing results until Week 8 (check my website or the L&S Transformation Gallery Archives). Everyone's different - and you might want to check your nutrition - especially if you're eating the same things every day. Basically you have to keep your body guessing. If you eat the same things each day - even if they're authorized foods - your results won't be terrific. Varying the foods kind of makes for a 'natural' zig-zag effect where the calories are concerned (and that zig zagging really chews through the fat, as those of us who have done Camp Pam B will attest to!).
Keep posting, and reading - both here and at L&S...this is the time (midway to 2/3 through the first Challenge) where people start feeling a bit discouraged (especially if they've been on 'quick weight loss diets' in the past). DON'T GIVE UP!!!

End of week two for me. This is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I feel great! I have not noticed a big change in the last two weeks, size wise, however, my attitude has definitely changed.
I wish I could tell everyone about BFL and how it has changed my life already. I know I will stick with this and reshape this fat cata pillar into a beautiful butterfly. Last night, a friend and I went to get tattoos together for her Birthday, I have been wanting one since a teenager and finally got up the nerve to do it. Wish I had done it years ago. I got a fairy with butterfly wings to symbolize my flight to a new me. She is beautiful! :df:

I have made it this far. Had a pretty good free day yesterday. Did not over do it and feel so bloated like last week. I only really ate one meal that was totally off base, but enjoyed it. However, I am just as glad to be back on program again. What is even more important than all that is, I have two full weeks in of not smoking. That I am very proud of. I am building a new me and I like this Me!
Have a great week !

Hey Virgina, I used this challenge as a time to give up my addiction which was diet coke. Isn't it amazing to embrace a new lifestyle? I am beginning week 8 and I am so pleased with my ability to STICK WITH IT!! Congrats to us!
My free day was by far my most reasonable. I had nice, treat food on my free day, but I didn't make myself sick. I think last weekend might have taught me a lesson.
Anyway, I do know how you feel OSC when free day is over. It is a relief in a way. Somehow I think the freeday concept is the psychological freehold that makes this eating plan so doable. Not only do you have permission to have it, because you can have it - you get anxious to be back on the clean eating part of the plan.
I adjusted my bench this morning so that the curls were easier. I made the bench decline and it didn't seem to put as much strain on my knees.
Once agaiin I see an obstacle looming in my path. I'm not going to freak because it may not even happen. But, it looks as if I may have to take a trip to take my mother to see a sick relative. I may be able to put it off until my 12 weeks is up, but maybe not. I was wondering about buying some resistance bands so that I could at least have some semblance of a strength workout. What have you folks done in a travel situation? I am pretty sure there will not be a gym available.
