What a difference a bra makes!!
I hate bra shopping and have been on here ranting before! Many of you lovely ladies suggested I try Nordstrom, but there isn't one around here and I wanted to try one on!!
Get this. Stores do not carry lower than a 34 and they only carry a small handful of those and 34 never goes higher than a C!! What does a girl wearing a freaking 32 F go? Nordstrom! LOL!
I was really nervous because I didn't trust myself. I KNEW you were supposed to measure around the band and that was your band size. My measurement is 31. But when I went to the store and THEY measured me, they measure up and around the bust and came up with 38. I knew this was wrong, but they're the experts, right? So I bought a 36, a compromise. But my breasts have been too low. All my cute little shirts that have that line under the bust was hitting me wrong!
So I got my bra in the mail and it fits like a dream! 32 is not too small! It fits!!
I am not that tiny. Where, oh where, do tiny people go for bras? Do they all have to go to the catalog? That sucks!
And honestly, my chest is not that big. My friends can not believe I wear an F. It's just that my band is so small comparatively. That's my frame I guess?? I don't know. But everything just falls right out the top of the bra smaller than an F and they're not supposed to do that.
I need to trust me more often.
Seriously though...where do smaller people shop?

HAHA my daughter is a 32C and she has a REALLY hard time shopping for anything. She is 19 and wears comparable to a childs size 12 in a lot of things. She shops at VS a LOT. She spends a small fortune on her bras and panties and well everything! She also buys a lot of the same thing if it is hard to find.
Congrats, a bra does make all the difference!

Cup size shrinks as band shrinks. So the same sized boob is a different cup size on different sized people. Like my boobs on Mary Kate Olsen would probably be a ZZZZ cup. ha.
I know I have seen 32 and smaller at places like Target, but those are not super supportive bras. So if you're small in the band and big in the bust, you probably have to go to specialty stores just like any big boobed girl.

Have you ever heard of a store called Dots?
This isn't a pun, I promise.
I absolutely love this store!
I get really great dress pants for
only $20. And their shirts on clearance
can get as low as $7. The pant sizes
they carry are 0 - 32. And they have
very cute shoes, jewelry, etc.

I thought to properly get fitted you have to measure UNDER the breasts and across them to get the band size and cup size?
Either way I was doing my sizing wrong and went from a 40C to a 38D, I learned if your breasts are resting against your arms then you have the WRONG size lol.

Not in my case. Went from a 42DD to a 38DD. I'm fussy about my bra's, and I cant' get the girls in anything less than a DD. They just pooch out all over the place.

The Linda the Bra Lady website has many many many styles in 32F. You can Live Chat with a bra expert when ordering, and the return policy is very easy.

I didn't mean that a person's boob go into a smaller cup as they go into a smaller band. I meant that a 32c cup is smaller than a 42c cup. If you took 32c boobs and put them on a 42 band, they would be a smaller cup.

I am a 32 or a 34 DD also. I find it hard to find variety in the stors so I might head over to Nordstom to find something new and then I always re order or look for other colors online.
I like Herroom for bras, the reviews are helpful and I like that they do the shirt overlay to see how a bra will look with different necklines.
when I buy them online these are the 3 I like. As a 40+ woman I need LOTS of support :-)
32DD in this one http://www.herroom.com/Chantelle-236...izer-Bra.shtml
34DD in this one http://www.herroom.com/Wacoal-855167...wire-Bra.shtml
it comes in all kinds of fun clors and stuff, you just have to look around for it to find other colors etc.
I like this one for a spors bra and I wear a 34D or a 36C in this one

Linda and Herroom are my faves! I went from a terribly ill-fitting 44DD in a department store to a perfectly fitting 38J... Yes, a J. And no, I am not toppling over The range of sizes in every brick and mortar store but Intimacy, here in the states, is pathetic. So mail order is my new 'breast' friend
If you do find your bras are not small enough in the band, go have them tailored. It is cheaper than new bras and you can get a properly snug band regardless of size.

I used to curse at not being able to get my bras in a normal store but eventually I had to make my peace with shopping in a specialist bra store, which here in the UK one of the big names is Bravissimo for large cups only, Rigby & Peller for all sizes but they are not keen on wired bras and I never have any success with soft cup as they always roll under.
My cup size actually gets larger when I shrink down because of that whole 38C being smaller than a 40C in the cup thing, I started out in a 40E nursing bra after having my daughter, down to a 38F then a 36G, etc. Almost hoping I don't make it into 34 and lower cos the cup is going to be like a hat!
I just have to dedicate a day every now and then to getting fitted and trying loads on to get one that is the right size and the correct shape that it doesn't slip off my shoulders since my shoulders are actually narrower than my chest. I hate the fuss, I hate the expense, I hate having to always get the boring seam-free "T-shirt" bra if I don't want everyone to be able to see the seams and things through my clothes. I'd love to get a pretty, lacy, feminine little number, but I have to keep those to in the house only, unfortunately.

This was my issue. I like trying them on as not all bras are created equal, to say the least. But I lucked out with my online purchase. I absolutely love it!

I so need to bite the bullet on getting a new bra. Currently I'm wearing a Bali, 34D, only because I need the extra side coverage for my loose skin. The D cup is too big, but a C cup is too small and there isn't enough fabric on the sides. According to the Linda site posted above (Thanks! ), I should be wearing a 32F/FF. I find that 32s don't have enough fabric on the sides to tuck my skin into.

Oh my goodness, I just measured via the bra lady site, now I haven't measured since i was shopping for nursing bras when I was preggers with my now 18m old... then I was a 44J, now 42L... fricken L!! Actually I was just above the 52" mark, so maybe I was supposed to round that up to 54 which would make it M???? Oh goodness what happened to the wives tale that your breasts get smaller than they started after you finish nursing????
I am due for some new bras, I usually buy 7 each income tax, so that time is coming soon.. and I will definately remeasure then.. and maybe only buy 2 or 3 because I hope to have to buy a few smaller sizes through the coming year or so
Thanks for bringing this up.. I have shopped for bras online for a few years now and have been buying glamorise for years, but that too may all change.. I hope

i'm making a mental note of all the tips. i'll probably reread the threads later. i was just thinking the other day how i really need new bras. my absolute fav. bra isn't supportive anymore. i think it's bc i've shrunk. i didn't need all the extra stuff on the sides anyway it's so weird to realize even 'small' clothes are too big or don't fit right. i'm a wire free girl. so finding anything is difficult, but it will be easier now that i'm smaller.
