STOP PRESS Post from Vickie on last weeks

Yesterday afternoon we went to a memorial service for all the people who had passed away in the last 6 months in our parish. The church was packed. It is an old Victorian one with beautiful stained glass. As the names were read out, the relatives could go up and light candles. The choir sang 'Pia Jesus' which was a favourite of Beth's and it was a very special service. Jojo the wimp cried all the way through! Mind you... I got a lovely cuddle from a dishy vicar
I was feeling a bit achey yesterday after the flu injection, Mark was OK but it was a day for sitting by the fire.
I'm going to have a lazy day today. Mark calls a lazy day, 'A day for the Queen' in the services this meant a day's holiday. I finished the tunic I was knitting so will start a tapestry (needlepoint) this afternoon when I come back from seeing the diet counsellor.
Oatbran I read an article that oatbran is a new super food. Over here, we call oatmeal 'porridge' and I wondered if oatbran was the same as oatmeal? Does anyone know? I posted a query on the food thread but haven't had an answer.
The birds are flying backwards this morning, it is so windy

11-08-2010, 03:23 PM
JoJo, thank you for the new pages. It sounds like you had a beautiful memorial. I would have cried, too. You are so blessed by your community. The memorial was a wonderful tribute of love. I just did some googling of "oat bran" and here's what came up: "Oat Bran, Rolled Oats, Oatmeal
These are steamed, rolled and flaked. Oat bran is the outer casing of the oat and is high in soluble fiber. They cook quickly (5-7 minutes) and are easily and quickly digested. Oat bran helps lower blood cholesterol levels because of their fiber content."

extra info: "Note that generic or any brand names (like Quaker) will not make any difference. The quicker the cooking time the less nutrition because they mill the oat into fine thing. The generic brands are usually much cheaper, and there is no difference in taste."

Vickie, I had gained 3 pounds when I weighed in last Friday. Before weighing, I talked to my sponsor because I knew I was going to have a gain and didn't want finding out to sabotage me. She advised me to say a prayer to help me accept what the scales were going to say (as OA is about turning control over to our Higher Power as we understand Him). I think what she was saying was just another way of saying, "dust off and get back on track. Look at where you are now versus where you used to be." That's what I'm doing.

(I'm stepping on a small step stool now because I don't have a soapbox.)

Remember this is our journey. Sometimes we're on the expressway, but sometimes we get diverted to side streets and by detours. We will eventually get where we want if we don't stop completely. And if we stop? Get going again.

I am very proud of you. You're developing different eating habits (so am I). It's to be expected that the old habits will resurface every now and then. But--it's what we do most of the time that's more important. (Am I saying the right thing?)

I made a healthy lunch today--oven-fried chicken breast, fresh asparagus and fresh green beans (snapped'em myself), whole kernal corn, and mashed potatoes. Now that I have you all impressed by my healthy foods, I will confess the potatoes were instant.

OA tonight. Ya'll have a great day. Life is good.

Hi Ladies:)

Had a Bad Day, had my knee up on the sofa all day.My friend Alice wanted me to go to Hyannis with her but I just couldn't get going. We also had some freezing rain this morning and one of our police cars skidded onto the side on the road.

Have a doctor appointment tomorrow morning at 11:20.Looked on the computer for a web site that would tell me something about the torn meniscus. The only treatment I found was surgery, couldn't find any information on the Synvisc injections.

Just finished baking 6 apple cinnamon muffin tops and raspberry healthy heart pancakes for future breakfasts.Baking really make the house smell good.

Going to start my supper and watch Dr Oz.See you gals in the morning.

11-08-2010, 06:01 PM
Maryann, I think the synvisc is for worn down cartilage. A torn meniscus is different. I don't have time to chat, but that's my "two cents worth".

11-08-2010, 06:17 PM
I've got Sloan's cold! Back later....

11-08-2010, 10:14 PM
Maryann, I hope you get some relief tomorrow. I can almost smell those apple cinnamon muffin tops. Yummy!!

Rhonda, I'm sorry you're sick. Get well soon.

Sloan, are you feeling better?

Just got home from OA. We had a great meeting and I'm pumped.

11-09-2010, 03:01 AM
I got on really well with the counsellor yesterday. She spelled out what I already knew, but needed to hear. Iím not on a diet, Iím changing the way I eat, the way I think of food and the way I was using it as a comforter. Thereís going to be ups and downs and the important thing is to cill out about any gain and just keep focused.
I think I have caught Sloanieís cold/flu. Ií, achy shivery and a bit nauseous with a headache. On top of the flu jab on Saturday, it has kind of flattened me. I reckon we've made history Tejas, the first 2 cases of cyber colds:DQuiet day today for me.
The muffins sound wonderful Maryann. Rest that knee now.
Thanks for the info Sandra, really appreciate it.
Vickieread what my counsellor said. You and I are in the same boat ane there's safety in numbers. We can crack this if we stick together;)

Hi Ladies:)

Got back from the doctor 2 hrs ago.I need surgery as my tear is too big to repair with gel injections. My surgery is going to be some time in January right after the holidays. He had an opening on 12/22 but I told him that was the day I was going down to my DD's for Christmas/New Years. The nurse is going to call me some time this afternoon or tomorrow morning to choose a day that will be convenient for me.

She told me that I will need crutches for a couple of days and no stairs for a while also.So I will have to sleep down stairs either on the couch or Leo's Lounge chair. I say the latter.Have to bring my clothes & other items down stairs.

Soon after the operation I will have to go for rehab or physical therapy for 3-4 months as a out patient. So that the news with me.

SLOAN-You're absolutely right  the injections are for a cartilage a meniscus had to be operated on.

SANDRA-Have wait into January to finally get relieve, but its going to take months of therapy to get to my normal self. I baked:chef: the muffins from a Jiffy box mix,and they were delish.......

JOJO-I better get off this this thread soon if all of you got Shoane's cold/flu.Don't need that as I'm going down to my DD for Thanksgiving:turkey:now that I got the doctor orders that I can travel. Don't know if you get Dr Oz on the telly,if you do watch what he says about diets. If not go to you'll get some much info on everything from soup to nuts. I agree with your counselor,it not the diet but the food you eat and the quantity. Thanks I resting my knee as much as possible.

Have a great evening, see you gals tomorrow

11-09-2010, 10:27 PM
Sloan & JoJo ....
get well
That cyber Flu is bad this year I heard...
New meaning to getting a virus on your computer !!!

I guess that is sorta good and sorta bad news... Good they can fix it and you have a surgery date after Christmas but bad that you will have a long rehab process. That sounds as long as getting past a knee replacement..
(I sleep downstairs on the couch sometimes because Robin snores and the pets get so excited when we do a "slumber party "in the living room. The dog sleeps at my feet and the cat sleeps wedged between me and the back of the sofa.
I feel like a kid getting to stay up late when I do that. )

But I know that is different than having to because your knee is hurt...
Is the recliner comfortable enough to sleep in??

Rhonda...I just saw that you are sick too!!! I am going to wash my hands after chatting with you guys!!!!!

11-09-2010, 11:24 PM
Yes, wash your hands, really well....

 Back tomorrow I'm sure...

Good Morning Chicks! Today is my 19th wedding anniversary. We are dropping Brodie off for a spa morning and we are going off to a beautiful breakfast.

Take care of yourselves my sick Chickie friends. Mary Ann, that's awful. Maybe your DD could come down and take care of you?

It's going to be 70 here today. Woo Hoo!

Hugs to you all.

11-10-2010, 06:55 PM
Wow, Froufy!!! Great to see ya! Hope all is well with you. Come back to see us!

Chickies, I'm so sorry! I feel like Typhoid Mary :( I'm getting better; just a little stuffy now. My pact with my work friend to stay on a "diet" for one week is going well. So far, we have been op for two days. It really does help to have a partner at work. Jojo sent a message to y'all to let you know she is okay. She's having some kind of reaction to her flu shot, and this morning she could not get 3FC to open on her computer. Hopefully she'll be back tomorrow.

Happy Anniversary, Vickie! Hope you and Jim have a lovey dovey day!

GTG get ready for my painting class. Feel better, y'all :D

11-10-2010, 10:29 PM
FROUFY!!!!!!!!!! It's so good to see you here. I haven't cruised vicariously via anyone since you've been away. Please post and let us know how you're doing. We love you!!

Froufie, I just noticed your current weight under your avatar. Way to go, girl!! I am happy for you! And by your signature, I see we're going on a cruise!! :beach:

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, VICKIE!!I hope you and Jim had a grand time. Breakfast out sounds romantic.

Maryann, I think Nancy said it all. I'm glad you're getting relief and I'm also glad you'll be able to celebrate the holidays with your family.

I hope all of you with cyber colds get better quickly. I'm amazed I haven't caught Curtis' cold. So far so good. Now I hope I don't catch it from ya'll.

I subbed in high school theater yesterday. The director was still there when I arrived. Guess what. She wants me in their Christmas play. I'm excited. I get to be a snobby, "dirty" old lady. (Cinderella's grandmother) It's going to be a hoot!! Today I subbed in computer classes at a different high school--and memorized most of my lines while the students computed.

I'm Day 155 Sugar-Free. Life is good.

11-11-2010, 12:10 AM
Good grief, there's Froufie!

Sorry to hear that Jojo isn't well. And, Maryann, I'm really sorry about your knee. I really hope it all goes well for you.

I'm still sort of out of it, but I'm sure tomorrow will be better.

11-11-2010, 09:31 AM
Thanks Chicks! We had a great day and wandered through the mall also. A bit of activity never hurts, right?

Frouf! What a delightful surprise. Please come home. We are all doing our own plans here; we just can't leave each other! It is still a wonderful place to be. I'm going through a rough patch right now but I never give up.

Today is cleaning lady and our special dinner out. Probably too much food again this week!

11-11-2010, 11:39 AM
Hey girlies - thanks for the welcome and congrats to all of you staying the course and continuing the 'battle'! You seem to all be doing pretty good yourselves!

I am stilling fighting the fight - and trying to stay focused and motivated. I was actually down to 175 (beginning of summer?) but 'stuff' happened and the weight started creeping on (or better said - the mouth kept on eating stuff it shouldn't?). Then the panic set in and the more I tried to lose those extra pounds the more stressed out I got and the more I ate (and nothing healthy of course)- a very nasty and vicious cycle.

Started reading alot (several wieght loss books - mostly 'psychological' stuff not diet/exercise cuz we are all probably experts on that already?:dizzy:) Resumed my strength training in Sept (at least I am doing some exercise?) and one of the nights we do 'coaching' as the instructor is a certified lifestyle coach and while I am having my own 'issues' it is interesting to hear about everyone else' challenges (certainly makes you count your blessing!). The group support is nice as well.

And the last thing I did was attend a TOPS workshop last weekend (I have been a TOPS member for over a year now)....and there was one presentation that really spoke to me - Relapse Intervention - yes we will all relapse (like a few times - think of someone continuously trying to quit smoking!) - just get back up - give yourself a 2nd (or 3rd or 4th) chance! I know it sounds simple - but I thought - I can just start over again from where I am (185) and forget about the past - what a novel idea!!:^: And my favorite new saying is:

TRIES DON'T BECOME FAILURES UNLESS YOU STOP TRYING! (and we should be learning and improving as we progress).

I also just started using a new food/exercise tracking website which I really like: - you might wish to try it out if you are tracking calories.

Maybe I will change my 'numbers' to reflect my new status and goals?:D

And yes another crusie in my very near future (altho it still seems a long way off!) - surely a good motivator - but I have to stop stressing about that too - I will not be at my goal by then but that's okay - slow and steady wins the race!

Hugs to everyone!

11-11-2010, 03:50 PM
Froufie, what a treat having you back! I was a TOPS member when we lived in Montana. I really got a lot out of the meetings. As they say in TOPS, "We're glad you're here."

Vickie, we're taking the grands out to dinner this evening. I'll prob eat too much, too. But we're doing better and better all the time. I really believe that. We've come a long way from where we used to be.

I got my nail done this morning. Now I'm resting after lunch (meat sauce/whole wheat spaghetti) before going to get the grands. Have a great afternoon, everyone.

11-11-2010, 07:37 PM
Afternoon, chickies! I've had a pretty routine day today. The weather is gorgeous. 80 degrees here in Nashville, Tn! Awesome!

Sandra, I forgot to say how excited I am that you will be in the high school play. I'll bet you have a blast!

Rhonda, are you feeling better? I hope so.

Froufie, I like your quote! Sounds like you have the right attitude.

Vickie, I'm glad you had a romantic anniversary!

Nancy, how's it going? I've been op since Monday. Hope I can keep that up!

I wanted to share two pics with y'all. The coffee cup picture is my last painting. The demon possessed dog is Pippi. When I got home, she had been "knitting". Sorry the pic is so blurry, but isn't she smart?

GTG grade some papers. TTFN

11-11-2010, 07:59 PM
Nice to meet you froufy...I love the quote too
Vickie...Happy anniversary..We are 1 year away from our 10th.
Sandra..I like your role in the play..That would be fun
Sloan..Love the paintings..Do you keep your paintings or sell them??
The coffee one brings to mind a lazy relaxing morning to me ..

I gave in to a craving today but not too much damage to my calorie count I think. I am going to start writing all my food down each day.

I got a haircut that I really like today. It is a chin length bob with long sideswept bangs and a few long layers at the bottom to make it lay nice.
I haven't liked my hair in years so getting a good cut made my day.
A year ago I splurged on an expensive cut and it was awful.

11-11-2010, 09:17 PM
Nancy, the paintings I have done have been gifts for my sister or are hanging in my house. I am really just getting started, so maybe someday I will offer some for sale, but right now I'm just having fun. Sorry about your slip up today, but you know how to handle it, and you'll be just fine. Your haircut sounds really cute. You should post a pic of the "new you".

11-11-2010, 10:26 PM
Sloan, I love the paintings. You're very talented.

Nancy, your haircut sounds cute. Don't worry about the slip. Sloan's right. You know what to do.

I justgot home from keeping the grands. We had a good time, got their homework done, and were ready for Mom when she got there. MeMaw's tired.

11-11-2010, 10:27 PM
Thanks for the welcome Everyone!

Missed you too! Hey Sandra - how's the 'shooting' going? Hope you are still enjoying it and winning all those competitions! Also got my toes/nails done today - but no polish - giving it a 'rest' just buffing polishing pedicure and manicure (awaiting some sort of new shellac/nail polish product which I will be trying out in a few weeks!).

Speaking of eating too much - was very hungry last night - and ate over my calories that's for sure - so do I go back and log it all in (and gasp!:o)....or just start a new day today? (I guess I would not have the 'proper' stats at the end of the week if I ignore the binge?)... Trying to stay more in control today - but had the day off (stat holiday for gov/banks - remembrance day) and I also took tomorrow of for a wonderfully long 4 day weekend (where a lot of damage can be done! :D)

So out shopping today - got myself a couple pairs of 'discounted' earrings, a new michael buble cd (can you hear me humming?), some clothes for little ds (now 12 and as tall as me - which isn't saying too much as I am barely 5'1), and presents for dd (turning 19 in a couple of weeks - please note only chronologically....;)).

And the new rule is NEVER LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT YOUR 'SNACK BAG' - yes also learned this at the TOPS workshop - great idea. Packed myself some pecans, a banana and 1 oz of cheese and water bottle. This was kinda my lunch - had a coffee at starbucks, and an early dinner around 4:30 pm (yes I was too hungry when I got home which is not very good!). Steak, beans, spaghetti squash!

I shall now go and try to enter my stuff at!

...and as for the quote - I was at a women's conference a couple years ago - and this 'concept' was introduced. One never ever ever ever needs to feel inferior to anyone else or think someone else is better than you. You need to understand and believe that when that sperm and egg met a very special and unique person was created - there is no one in the world like you! You have special qualities, assets, features that no one else could possibly have - you are SPECIAL and should always remember that wherever you go and whatever you do!

11-11-2010, 11:10 PM
I like the rule about always having your snack bag...
I mess up the most often when I am out & about and get hungry.
If I always take a cheese stick, fruit, 100 calories of nuts, or a yogurt
then I can prevent eating something bad because I was starved.

11-11-2010, 11:27 PM
Hi everybody:

Today I began to feel better, so I think it's over. I've read all the posts through.

Froufy, I'm soooooo glad to hear from you again. Such fun!

Sloan, beautiful work. I can't remember if I posted my second stained glass piece or not. I've been making some necklaces and earrings while I've been sick and the art gallery where I've been taking lessons is going to try to sell some this weekend at an exhibition. They're not particularly creative, but they're not bad for a total beginner. And, the puppy has a lot of potential, I'm sure.

Vickie, I'm glad that you had a nice anniversary. Ours is on Thanksgiving Day and I think we're going to go out for a fancy brunch and have the family meal later on the weekend.

Time to get back to the gym.

'night all

11-12-2010, 04:54 AM
Hi Ho! Well I'm up today, but not about. The arm swelling is going down and I don't fall over anymore when I stand up... I don't know about you but I hate feeling drunk when I haven't had a drop. What happened was, that unbeknown to me, I was brewing a flu bug when I had my flu shot and had a rotten reaction. There's a silver lining to every cloud, I feel as if I have lost some of the weight gain. I hope I can get up and stay up after lunch.

Forgot to say Sloanie When we married in 1975 we had a miniature Yorkshire Terrier called Pip. Whenever we went to see mum, she (Pip) got in mum's knitting wool and we regularly had to cut her out! Your photo brought back some happy memories

11-12-2010, 06:43 PM
Froufy, that's a good idea about having a snack bag. I went shopping today w/o having bfast and got too hungry. A lady was giving sausage samples, so I had a couple. That held me over till I got home. (Could have been better but definitely could have been worse.) Yep, we're still flinging arrows. I have 10 National Titles now. I'm also spending a lot of time substitute teaching and am having a blast. Did you know we moved to Texas? We're back where I grew up and did all my teaching in my other life.

Rhonda, I'm glad you're back to normal. Good success with selling your jewelry.

JoJo, glad you're feeling better, too. That'll be good if you lost. I'd take it for sure if I were you.

We shoot a small tournament tomorrow morning. After that--just resting/church the rest of the weekend.

Have a good evening.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Just a little post to let you know I ok,just very busy to get things ready for my move downstairs.

Had a lot to do yesterday. Had my chest of drawers cleaned out in the spare room so my clothes[tops, under garments socks] can go in.Now I have to decided where I will hang my coats & jackets as I have to put my outfits in the closet. My friend told me to buy one those coat racks and put on the basement landing.

Can't believe all this moving stuff around just for knee surgery. Don't like change, just getting over last year and now me this year.Hope this doesn't stress me out.Met with my friend Mary for pizza yesterday and she has a terrible time of her DH passing. Told her it gets better with time. She decided to cancel the Van Trapp trip saying that she wouldn't be good company for me,just as well, my doctor said at time I have to go in for blood work and pre-testing for the surgery. So it all worked out fine. I got my tickets & now I have to start deciding what clothes I will pack for the trip. How do you walk with a cane and have a tote & small suitcase????? [cane in right hand, and the tote over my left shoulder and pulling the suit case with my left hand,I suppose]

Going to close,I want to get to the cemetery before I start my day chores.

11-13-2010, 11:20 AM
Good Morning Chicks! I've a busy day today and tomorrow since I need to empty everything out of my huge entertainment center so that the furniture can be moved for wall-to-wall carpet installation. I'm telling you that was the most expensive cup of coffee ever!

I'm feeling stronger in the motivation department but I am getting heartily sick of the Jenny Craig food. It may be time for a break but I'm kind of afraid to do it at the holiday time. I think it is nearly time to go back to WW and start cooking again.

Good Luck, Sandra, at your tournament.

Nancy, let's see a photo!

Rhonda, Sloan, JoJo, Mary Ann, hope you are all feeling at least a bit better this morning.

Frouf, it is so good to see you here. I use I need to be better about the snack bag as we all know the disaster that strikes when we get over hungry. I'm listening to Christmas music to try to get into the mood of the holidays. I'm not there yet.......

Have a great on program day.

11-13-2010, 02:54 PM
Hi Ladies:)
Have a doctor appointment tomorrow morning at 11:20.Looked on the computer for a web site that would tell me something about the torn meniscus. The only treatment I found was surgery, couldn't find any information on the Synvisc injections.

I had Meniscus surgery about 20 years ago. It was the strangest way it happened. I was sitting in a chair talking on the phone. My leg was thrown over the arm and when I lifted my leg. Something just popped. I couldn't get off the floor. Ambulance, hospital... long story short I had a complete bucket tear and they took my meniscus out.

If you want more info on what I remember feel free to PM me.

To the present day. I just came from the Dr. Yesterday about this same knee because of arthritis. I will eventually need knee replacement but I'm having feet issues so it's complicated.

I asked about Synvisc injections yesterday because my primary Dr told me about it. My orthopedic Dr said my arthritis is to far gone for that. Synvisc injections is basically a lubricant. They had brochures about it in my Dr.s office. Here is the link to the website

11-13-2010, 05:30 PM
:welcome: 2feelbetter. It's good to have you here with us. This is a great group of chickies. Please hop in and post away. We'd like to get to know you better. My husband just had total knee replacement due to arthritis. He's recuping beautifully.

Vickie, I hear ya on being tired of eating the same type foods. WW is coming out with their new program (maybe end of this month from what I've heard). I'm thinking ofgoing to a meeting to get the new program. We need new carpet in the worst way but are procrastinating. I hope you get yours installed quickly with no glitches.

Maryann, I hope everything goes well for you. I know you have to be worried. Just remember we're all here for you pulling for you to have a quick recovery.

I shot a personal high score today at the tournament. I'm extremely excited about that. Curtis shot well, too. We're both tired and are resting now. Guess we're old.

11-13-2010, 09:06 PM
Do you have a spare room downstairs??

I was thinking about the cane, tote & luggage problem.
Does your luggage have wheels?? I have seen a lot of people strap the tote
to the top of the wheeled suitcase and then they just have one piece
to pull along. Just a thought...

11-13-2010, 09:47 PM
I think I caught the cold/virus that everyone else has had.
I went to my grandson's soccer game and came home and went back to bed for the day. DH made chicken noodle soup and his special OJ/gingerlale drink for
me .

I need to get over this fast because we are doing Thanksgiving next Sat
when we can get the family all together. DD flies in on Wed from Ca.

11-14-2010, 05:28 AM
I'm back!!

Just a quick one. I've lost 4lbs so there's something to be said for having the flu! How are you all? How's everyone doing? Talk to you again tomorrow

11-14-2010, 05:59 AM
Why am I awake? Do you think it is all the sugar :hyper: I ate at various functions today? I was a nut, really, crazy. OK, I hope that is over, whatever it was.

The art gallery where I have been taking lessons had its first year anniversary today, with a big party into the evening. One of my necklace and earring sets sold, so I'm now a "professional" What fun. i've got to start my holiday line and made my first set tonight :encore:

Tomorrow is church, a hike with the family, and a volunteer appreciation dinner in the evening for all of die-hard politicos who worked so hard in the election.

Maryann, what a lot of work. I do hope for the best with your knee. It's a lot of disruption. Breathe deeply and slowly.

(I posted, then noticed that the time said 5:59AM...NOPE, it was 3:59AM..what time zone is 3fc in these days?)

11-14-2010, 11:26 AM
Nancy, ;) ;) ;) for getting well quickly so you can enjoy time with your family.

JoJo, that was quick, girl. I don't know if I've ever seen you in and out so quickly here. :woohoo: on losing 4 lbs!!!!!!! Amazing! Maybe I need the flu or something????

Rhonda, your post says 3:59 on my puter. Congrats on becoming a jeweler. Sounds like you're having a fun weekend. I think the holidays are already "in the air." Yesterday I was hungry for sweets. Thank goodness there weren't any nearby. If there had been, I have no doubt I'd have had some.

We're up and ready to go to church. Afterwards, we'll go out to eat with friends then it will almost be time for rehearsals. This evening we're going to my son's. It's his birthday. Am I old enough to have a son who is 43? Yes.

Have a great day, everyone.

11-14-2010, 03:53 PM
Good Afternoon Chicks! I'm just taking a brief break from emptying out my entertainment center in anticipation of the carpeting installation on Tuesday. Monday and Tuesday are crazy busy days for me so I had to do it today. We need to take digital photos of the back of the TV and the devices so we can get them hooked back up properly.

Enjoy your Sunday!

11-14-2010, 04:17 PM
Vickie, that's a good idea of taking the photos. I hope your carpet installation goes without incident.

I'm just chillin' waiting to go to rehearsal.

11-14-2010, 10:19 PM
Congrats on all those National Titles Sandra - wow! - very impressive!

sounds like everyone understands and uses the 'snack bag' concept - good for you if you do - I am tryingn to make a habit of it!

Vickie - actually my fitness instructor also just mentioned sparkpeople so I will have to go and check that out as well!

speaking of which I have not logged in any food since last thursday or so? Thursday was a stat holiday here (at least for public servants) - remembrance day - so I took the friday off creating a very long 4 day weekend!

Problem is I of course overindulged a little too much? And on sat/sun my 2 kids (12 and 19) attended a dance workshop this weekend ( - yes they danced 6 hours a day while I sat on my bum 6 hours a day - ha ha ha. I packed lots of snacks - none of which were that bad - but we all know that eating too many snacks (esp when one is not moving?) is not a good thing. I did not exercise at all this weekend and feel badly. Dare I get on the scale tomorrow morning?( and I somehow have my period when I AM NOT SUPPOSED TO - which is freaking me out - have an appt in a couple of weeks - trying not to stress out).

At least I have my strength training class tomorrow night (and have packed the leftover 'food' for work tomorrow: tuna/egg salad, cut up veggies, fruit salad - pineapple/blueberrries/strawberries, some cheese)....I go right from work to fitness class/coaching - leave work at 4:30 pm and don't get home til 7:30 pm (no dinner til then) so I need to make sure I 'snack' properly (try to have some protein around 4 pm or so) so I can manage the exercise and not starve myself!

And I can't wait to wear the t-shirts dd and I bought at the dance weekend - very brightly colored (white with turquoise blue/hot pink/gray large lettering) and it says across the front' FEEL THE RAGE'! I know the ladies in the class will get a kick out of it (the next favorite t-shirt is from a local candy shop - big bear on the back and it says 'give me some chocolate and no one gets hurt' - how true! ha ha ha).

Hope everyone has an EXCELLENT week! :D

Hey chickies! I spent the afternoon with my mom and sister. My mom found a cute little house on the street between my house and my sister's house. We both pass right by there several times a day. It is just right for her. The owner has painted throughout and cleaned the carpets. She plans on moving in on Thanksgiving weekend. She was actually excited to get started decorating! We are very happy with the house, the location, and a very nice younger man who lives right behind her.

Rhonda, I hope you can post some pics of your jewelry. We would love to see it.

Nancy, sorry about your cold. I hope you feel better before your Thanksgiving celebration. My friend and I have been keeping eachother accountable counting ww points. Tomorrow will be one week for me. I'm really looking forward to the new program. It sounds like it might be easy to keep up with.

Sandra, what play are you working on besides the one with the highschool?

Vickie and Maryann, don't work too hard!

Frouf, your t-shirt sounds cute!

Jojo, congrats on losing four pounds. Getting sick is not the best way to do it, but a loss is a loss ;)

GTG hang out with DH. Have a good night, y'all!

That sounds great about the place your mom found. I love that it is so convenient for you & your sister. Your mom will love having you two be able to just check in on your way by.
