Week 8 here we come...
We lost another 3 members today and some used their last freebie. Try to hang in there team. I know the holidays are around the corner and it can be rough to stay on plan but we are all here to support each other so stay with us!

Just a 1 lb loss for me this week, which I'll take considering it's my TOM. My 30th (!) birthday is Thursday, and I was worried about it at first, but for lack of babysitter, we'll be hanging out at home. I thought about taking the kids to chuck e cheese for my birthday. They can play games, and I can play skee ball. lol. I hope I manage to stay on plan this week. DH has Friday-Sunday off, and I don't do so well when he's home. We do a lot of stuff on the fly. Gonna try my hardest!
11-07-2010, 11:01 PM
As team leaders, myself and bigmid, do our best to keep things fair for all members of both teams. Therefore, if we edit your post as a freebie because you missed weigh in time, please do not go back and edit it and erase the freebie and put in a weight. The edits have time stamps so we can track weigh in times even if we are not online at exactly 10pm ast to enter in everyone's freebie immediately. Again, this is so that we can all play fair and keep working towards our goals of becoming healthier.

Congrats to Tambolina for being our biggest loser this week and to Angie for being our runner up! Good job ladies!!

Results are posted
I hope you all have a great week

Here's some motivation for us all. Current biggest loser standings for the red team.
Note: These do not reflect exactly our standing because in order to win the title at the end you have to have written in every chat thread each week. I'm not looking at that right now to compile this list. Go Red Team!!!!

I went to bed very early last night, because the dinner we had for our anniversary made my husband and I feel queasy. :( I guess it was just a carb overload or something. We've been trying out a paleolithic kind of diet for a couple of days (with tiny cheats) but it was nothing like last night. Ick. The food was much too rich for us, and it left us feeling sick to our stomachs. Has this happened to anyone else before while doing a restrictive diet??
11-08-2010, 09:30 AM
Hey everybody! I'm re-vamping my plan here and I'm combining low-carb with the 5 hour fast. My weight loss hasn't been consistent and I really need it to be. I really wanna get a lot of this weight off by spring! Hope you all had a great weekend!
11-08-2010, 10:49 AM
Congrats Tambolina!! Congrats to everyone else also! Thanks for compiling the stats, shan. That's pretty motivating :)
11-08-2010, 09:15 PM
Hey everyone! Just echoing what Shan said, do please weigh in, it's okay if things aren't going well, we've all had bad weeks (sometimes months!) and having a group like this for support is just what you need sometimes. I also post in the 100 lb club area and I never fail to find some encouraging words just when I need them, or to be motivated by what someone else did or overcame.
Serval -- I've had that. I'm on a low carb diet, and the first phase was no carb. Now if I go off plan and especially if I eat the wrong kind of carbs, I feel bloated, guilty and generally 'icky'. Hope you are feeling much better today.
Shan - Thanks for the stats!
11-08-2010, 09:23 PM
Congrats Tambolina! Your job sounds interesting and rewarding.
Julie99-Happy Birthday early. I hope you enjoy your special day.
Today was On Plan. I am craving a treat tonight, I am sure due to too many indulgences lately. It is almost my bedtime though so should get through the day great.
11-08-2010, 11:45 PM
Shan- thanks for the overall stats. How is the food delivery going. Do you augment with fruit & veggies or do you eat only what they bring you?
Life seems so hectic right now, but I think it's a major effect of the time change and feeling out of whack at work.
Anyhow- eating has been mainly under control. Packing an extra piece of fruit for lunch that sometimes I eat on the way home to curb the afternoon munchies- though an apple is nothing like some chips or pretzels.
The cold weather is dropping in from the north, so I'm hoping my body will burn some more calories trying to stay warm. LOL- wishful thinking I know.
Have a great evening ladies!

Hey Red Team.. Sorry I missed weigh in. I been having a really hard time the last two weeks or so. Been going through a bunch of things. I trying to get back on here and post but I am so preoccupied lately.. I'm working on figuring out how to focus again. I will weigh in on Sunday.. I did weigh today and had a small loss, was happy I didn't gain.
Hope everyone is having a good week.
11-09-2010, 10:03 PM
sha25-Good for you for coming back to the board when things get tough. Hang in there and don't give up!
Today was on plan again. Yeah!
CanadMel-the apple is a way better choice than chips. You are a smart girl. Plus you are almost to a new decade. Keep up the good work.
11-09-2010, 10:20 PM
Thanks, Angie. I'm notorious for cheating on diets, and have been cheating consistently, but with my cheating has come consequences. I think the paleo diet is actually good for me if I can keep with it, because it got rid of my bloat. Only when I start eating non-paleo again does it come back, and it hasn't even been a week.
11-09-2010, 10:25 PM
Aw- Terapet- thanks for the encouragement! Motivation today for me was I renewed my drivers license & I got to put in my new weight! Plus I got a new picture too.
And look at you Terapet- just realized you are at your goal!!
:congrat: :cheer: :congrat: :cheer: :congrat:
11-09-2010, 11:43 PM
Terapet- Congrats on reaching goal!
CanadaMel- I'm still doing the diet food delivery. It's good. Somedays are rough when they send only salad for a breakfast with no dressing and nothing on the side except some grape tomatoes and a 1/2 sweet potato. Those days are rough but they are few and far between. Week 1 I lost 8.5 lbs. Week 2 I lost nothing. But I'm working on week 3. I also have not been exercising like I was because my life has been really complicated lately and I am trying to find a way to balance everything out and I am finding it a bit difficult. Hoping for a loss this week though.
Hope everyone else is having a good week. Drop in and let us all know what your up to!
11-10-2010, 07:53 AM
Terapet~ Congrats on reaching GOAL!!!:bravo:
Starting to get chilly up here! I'm psyched for snow, but they're saying 50s by the end of the week... which means we will probably drop into a deep freeze next week. Gotta love Vermont weather!!!
11-10-2010, 02:54 PM
Hey ladies, just thought I'd check in. This week is going okay I guess. I haven't worked out yet which means I have to workout every day from today til Sunday for my competition. Anyone else really struggling with the time change? This is my first fall/winter in the central time zone and it kinda sucks. It's already dark when I get off work; I find myself feeling really lazy and tired. Any cures for the winter blues?
11-11-2010, 05:15 AM
Hey red team. Just checking in for mid week. Went to the gym tonight for an hour. Felt great to be back in there again. Only 3 more weeks til my walking 5k with the bf's parents. Trying to push myself hard to stay on plan and get my exercise in.
Hope everyone is having a good week.
11-11-2010, 08:13 AM
Checking in. It's been an awful week. I'm dealing with some family drama and I'm so sick to my stomach over it. My eating's been terrible because of it. DH is sick with a flu or something which has also resulted in pink eye. Today's my birthday and I don't even care. I just want this week gone.
I have been going to the gym still, but with my eating this week, I can't imagine I'll have a loss. I may end up using a freebie, depending.
11-11-2010, 10:57 AM
Julie- :hugs: to you. Make sure to take some time for yourself today.
11-11-2010, 09:50 PM
julie99s-Happy Birthday Girl! It stinks that the flu and the family showed up to mess with your special day. Hopefully things will resolve themselves soon and you can celebrate another day. Good for you for getting to the gym.
Shan84-You are going to be awesome on that walk.
Aclai-It is way too early to get the winter blues. I actually enjoy all four seasons. Fall has awesome trees, fun holidays and the right weather to enjoy hot soup! MMM Did you see any celebrities up there this week? I watched the CMT awards last night. I thought they were pretty good.
CanadaMel-Thanks for noticing. It is pretty awesome to meet goal. Now that I am there I don't know what to do with myself. I guess just stick to eating the same way and maybe lose a few more.
Thanks to all for the goal recognition. This thread was very, very helpful in getting me there. You are all wonderful chicks!

I fixed us a dinner of beef bacon, chicken drumsticks, and brussel sprouts. Afterward I felt absolutely fantastic: light yet full, and kind of glowing, if that makes sense, but then we went over to my parents', and what do you know ... there's pizza. Ugh. Of course I had two slices. And of course now I feel completely nauseous. What is wrong with me? Why can't I just say no? :(
11-11-2010, 11:13 PM
Thanks guys for the birthday wishes :)
We went, and I'm sure this sounds absurd, to chuck e cheese. At my request. I thought entertained children, chores being done so they could go, not having to make dinner and taking some frustration out on skee ball sounded like a perfect evening. And it was. Then we stopped at old navy where I got a pair of pants, 4 shirts, a dress, a shirt and jammies for DS, all for $23. It did turn out to be a really good night. And I think I may request to go to chuck e cheese for my birthday for the rest of the years there are small children in the house.
Congrats on your goal Terapet! That's amazing!
11-12-2010, 10:03 AM
Julie- Sorry I missed your birthday shout out. Happy Belated Birthday! Glad you had an enjoyable night out with your family.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Still on plan here. Seeing a small drop this week and hoping it turns into more. Holding on to a lot of water because of my strength training at the gym and my muscles are soooo sore. Trying to drink lots and keep the fluids flowing. No big plans this weekend. Want to get some extra rest, do some things for work, read a little, and get in some exercise. Have one off plan meal tomorrow night with bf's friends. I know how to control myself and luckily I know my stomach can only hold so much food now since i have been doing such lower calorie days. So, I think I will be ok. Plus its always good to shock the system a little bit right? Anyways, hope everyone has a great Friday.
What are your plans for the weekend?
11-12-2010, 01:39 PM
Terapet- Honestly, I would not have known about the CMT Awards if my roommate hadn't been watching it. I'm pretty oblivious to pop culture and even more so to country music stars. Keith Urban could run smack into me and I'd have no clue who he is. And it is too early for the winter blues, but it gets dark an hour earlier here than it does in Atlanta.
I've decided to re-join WW tomorrow. I'm not sure if I can afford to stay long term, but I want to get the info about the new program at the end of the month. Also I'm hoping it will help jump start me. I'm so annoyed with myself right now. I have a million reasons and I'm just not pushing past 234. That number is like a freaking trampoline for me. So hopefully between my sister's wedding in the spring and my work wellness challenge AND going back to WW, I will finally be able to see a new number.
My sister picked out a bridesmaid dress she likes; it's from J.Crew. I'm going to have to drop two dress sizes to fit into the largest one they have. Part of me says, "No problem, I can do that in 8 months." And the other part worries that I'm being over-confident. What if June comes and I'm still too big?
11-13-2010, 08:11 AM
Aclai-Oh you would notice Keith Urban, you just wouldn't know his name! Wow, that is kinda crazy about the dress. Well, anyway, you can drop two sizes in eight months. Don't worry. Don't give up, don't give up, don't give up. You can do this. Do set yourself some rules about what you eat.
11-13-2010, 12:04 PM
HI all -- I did my weigh in early so I won't forget tomorrow...small loss for me this week. Small losses are fine with me as long as they are consistent :)
Happy birthday Julie! Sounds like your birthday went much better than your week, and I hope that will continue for you into your new year.
Terapet - Congratulations on meeting your goal!!
11-14-2010, 01:50 AM
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Don't forget to weigh in tomorrow!
GO RED TEAM!!!
11-14-2010, 10:50 AM
I just weighed in -- I was late last week so used an unplanned pass. This week I'm down two pounds after staying the same for three weeks. I was beginning to think I'd never see a new number on the scale!
11-14-2010, 08:43 PM
Don't forget to weigh in. Only about 15 minutes left.
