Thought I would start us a new thread as the other one is getting pretty long!
Awesome pic Jojo! My oldest daughter really gets freaked out when I dress up so I don`t do it anymore. :( Halloween was great this year, inspite of the cold and the drizzle. Kids had a blast and that is what matters!
I am in the midst of a brutal migraine thansk to a whack of tempting Halloween candy. Chips, suckers and candy I can easily pass on but chocolate...ANY KIND OF CHOCOLATE....no bloody way. It`s like crack to me. I finally told my husband to take it all and put it in his garage. Kids were`nt overly happy but they`ve been feeling yucky too because of the junk. Plus my oldest has pink eye and I think it is from an overdose of sugar (lowering her resistance to any bugs) and she is complaing her belly hurts. Not having so much fun at my house today!
Hope everyone else is doing better!!!

Maddie - I hope you get over your migrain quickly, I know tons of people that have them but I don't get them so I'm not sure I know what you are going through but I hope it ends quickly for you.
Things are picking up, I ate some chocolate but not a whole lot. I put it on my counter at work and I really don't have the urge to take any when it's there.
I'm getting back on track. I ordered the Beck books to start, kick start myself again. I found my good pedometer while cleaning my room so that it on right now and I made plans with friends to go to the gym tomorrow morning at 6am. I'm just going through all my papers and notes on my routine. I can't wait to get back to it.
I hope everyone had a great Halloween. CMO2 how are you doing? Haven't seen you in awhile, hope my comments didn't scare you off. I think you are going awesome and can't wait to hear more of your routine.

Hello ladies,
Well I failed I didn't reach my goal of 189 nov 1.....:mad::mad:
I have been struggling last week the scale would not budge finally today it did for the first time 192 so maybe I hit a plateau last week and now It is moving again. We will see in the am figures crossed.
Halloween was cold and snowing but the girls had a great time that's what counts!
Maddie~Sorry about the migrain I suffer from them also no fun:mad:
SnowBC~Glad you are getting back on the wagon again good luck:carrot:

I see a little helper started a new thread for us; this year we seem to have more posters than in the past, but fall & winter is always busier than the spring & summer -- people are so busy outdoors and traveling a lot then.
MADDIE ~ hope you find relief for your headaches; they are no fun.
DONNA ~ glad you are finding some new ideas and resolve; I knew you could do it. Just review and regroup and restart ... atta girl!!! Yes, I agree about CMo2 -- I hope my comments didn't scare her off either, as I love her enthusiasm ... :)
CINDIE ~ just keep on, keepin' on and something will hafta budge sooner or later ... ;)
We had :rain: and winds here today, so it felt a bit chilly :brr:. We went shopping for fresh veggies, etc and errand-running yesterday so I got in some extra walking too. Am trying a few new things -- ever tweaking -- but I had a great NSV yesterday .... I picked up a lovely navy suit in 1x and it fits, so all my toning exercises are working out well, so I increased the ones for my abdomen starting this week!
We had a lovely Halloween night here too; we gave the extra bags of candy to goodwill yesterday. Have a great week everyone ... :D

Hi Canadian Gals! Great to see you again!
Rosebud, congrats on getting that navy suit. What an awesome nsv! Glad you had a nice halloween.
Maddie: Good to hear that you hid the rest of the candy in the garage..hehe. I hope you and your daughter feel better soon. It sounds like you and the kids had a great halloween overall. I dressed up and went out trick or treating around the block with my friend. It was so funny! I mostly wanted to get out and meet my neighbors as I'm new on this street. I had a bit of candy (1 chocolate bar, two mini bags of chips). Shame, but I worked out hard this week too. I'm back at the gym now ladies! Started running, and doing weights. It feels like a big thing to get back into it..I finally kicked myself in the ***... :D
snowbound..awesome to hear that you are getting back into it! :)
cinm: don't beat yourself up too much. As long as you are moving forward, that is all that counts imo. I'm not looking forward to hitting a plateau.

I lost 2 pounds this past week, and hope to get my 5% goal next week!!! I've started back at the gym this past week and have went twice thus far. I plan on going at least every second day. I will go to aerobics this week or next week.. I really want to turn it up in high gear to lose more. I go to the doctors end of November to see if I have to go on cholesterol pills, and I'm so hoping that my efforts will not be in vain. Have a great week ladies!

After going home yesterday with a headache and going to bed with my neck and shoulders aching, I thought I was done for but I awoke at 5am and was at the gym at 6am and home by 7am after a great workout!!
Jojo - congrats on the loss you sound like you are doing great!!

Headache is gone...YAY...and I have realised that sugar is causing me a lot of problems. Headaches ( of course) and I think it is also causing me a lot of inflammation in my body. When I eat no sugar...my blood pressure is great, if I eat any quanity of it...pressure is high. I have plantar fasciaitis (pain in my foot) and it is supposed to be "cured" by losing weight. If I don't eat sugar, I have no pain. The past week on my sugar spree...my foot killed me!
jojo-great news! great loss!
Donna- Good for you to get back on track! Bet it felt great to get a workout done!
Rosebud-Isn't finding clothes in a smaller size an AWESOME feeling?! Makes my entire day!

I'm wondering if headaches can be caused by TOM, I'm sure I'm due anytime now and the last two days I've had major headaches.
MaddieD
11-04-2010, 07:23 PM
The hormones from TOM always casue me a good 4 day headache. On sugar...it is a wicked 4 day migraine. Totally off sugar and it's there, but not bad enough that I even take tylenol.
Stress is bad too. :(

MADDIE ~ that's an interesting observation -- that sugar causes you headaches and pain in your feet. I wonder what the connection is? I did read somewhere that sugar thickens the blood; hence pressure on the vessels & veins, etc. That would make sense about the blood pressure being higher then too ... sugar may cause a lot more health issues than we realize ... :dizzy:
DONNA ~ I agree that hormones could cause headaches -- I think I read or heard that somewhere in the past too. Hope they pass soon; glad you felt well enuff to go to the gym today anyways ...
We had a good day; did vacuuming & dust mopping -- plus tidying up around the house which gives me extra walking to and fro. Tried a meatless pasta dish tonight with beans as the meat sub; was pretty good and DH wolfed it down. I could eat pasta and rice with veggies and be perfectly happy all the time; I'll try to sneak them at DH a bit at a time ...
It was cold and windy again today; but the :sunny: did come out for the late afternoon which was nice. Hope you all have a fab Friday tomorrow ... Rosebud :flow2:

Hey everyone!!! I really got to start coming in here more often! You guys are a wonderful bunch of people :) I just get to wrapped up in my own misery and post mostly in the depression section of the forum. These really short days don't help at all and the time change is going to make it even worse! I hate the time change! There are so many proven reasons why we should NOT do it, it's just stupid. Oh well, who am I to try change the world? Haha.
Our Halloween was very nice, a little cool but there's none of that icky stuff yet and temps have been reaching 10° during the day! Yay! (It's supposed to be cooling down now so we're enjoying the good stuff while it lasts.) Hubby and I went to a party and there were certain parts he didn't remember the next day... oops! LoL
Cimn - As long as the scale is going in the right direction it's all good!
Maddie - Odd that sugar would cause things like that, sucky too. I'm glad your headache is gone anyway. I get the occasional migraine and it's really hard to function. The husband of a friend has a constant headache... has for years and years. He's seen all sorts of specialists and tried everything.. no one can figure out why.
Donna - TOM is a big trigger for me too... makes me just look up at the sky and say "Seriously???? You give me TOM, PMS AND a headache to top it off?????"
Hi Rosebud. Since you've finished all of that cleaning at your place want to come clean mine? ;)
Jojo - Good luck with the cholesterol pill thing. Are you boxing in your avatar? How do you like it? I've often thought of trying it since I hit like a girl... thought maybe it would toughen me up a bit and teach me how to hit in the event I ever need to defend myself.

Aunty Jam...are you taking vitamin D? I find if I don't take it, I get into a funk that I just can't shake. My naturopathic doctor put me on 2000iu per day and even said when the weather is dreary...up it to 3-4000iu a day. I found it made a HUGE difference!

THAT'S FUNNY, AUNTY ~ gee, shucks -- too bad you live sooo far away ... I spread it out over the week, so I can count it as exercise ... Actually, I (and many other Canadians) agree with you whole-heartedly that they shouldn't turn the clocks back at all; but they argue that this is to give more light in the AM for the people going to work & kiddies going to school, but it's dark when they are coming home, so I don't get it either.
Ya, JOJO ~ I just realized that you are wearing boxing gloves too; that sounds like lots of fun ...
MADDIE ~ I take Vitamin D now too; I didn't know that you could take that much though ... I also close our curtains as soon as it gets dark and turn on the florescent lights to brighten things up ... I think it helps.
We had a bit of the ***white stuff*** today, but not much; it kinda blew by ... but it is NOVEMBER, so I guess we shouldn't complain too much. I like it when it is light & fluffy, as it looks so pretty. I just stayed home today and avoided the cold ~~ winds ~~ that we had which made it feel more like -10 C than -2 C ... :brr:
Hope all our CRAZY CANUCKS have a great weekend ... Rosebud :flow2:

Hi Maddie - My doc perscribed viatimin D also... it's a good thing to take but I'm not sure if it changes a funk, maybe. It certainly can't hurt!
Rosebud - aw come on.. my house is a complete disaster! I'm on the board of directors for a club I belong to. At our meeting yesterday they were asking where we should hold the next one... I just sunk into my chair and avoided eye contact.
Cooler out today but still very nice for this time of year :) I'm leaving for Houston again on Sunday, it's been in the mid to higher 20's there for the past while. Hopefully that will still be the case when I'm there :)

GOOD FOR YOU, DONNA ~ the Beck books are on my Christmas list -- as is "The Gabriel Method" by Jon Gabriel; and I could go on and on and on ... ;)
HEY, AUNTY ~ how about asking Santa for a maid for Christmas??? That would solve your dilemna ... ;)
Have been eating well lately; have been having porridge mix for breakfast and finding it takes away the hunger pangs until lunch better than anything else I have tried -- just in time for winter too. Went to the docs today; and stocked up on a few basics, plus some sales today. Even got a few more early Christmas presents today at great prices; only a few more to go ... yeah! I love sales ... :D
Have a great week ladies ... Rosebud :flow2:

Rosebud...can you ask Santa for a maid for me too? He seems to be ignoring my phone calls... ;)
Donna...dumb question on my part but....who is "Beck"?
Aunty Jam...vitamin D in larger doses helps people with SAD (seasonal affective disorder) as well as the light therapy. Here on the east coast we can get A LOT of dreary weather...like we have had non-stop drizzle and dark overcast rain for a week so far...and I find it really can get me in a funk. I sleep ok and eat ok but there is just "something" I can't shake...I have no desire to do anything...no housework, no cooking and I just want to be left alone. Since taking larger quantities of vitamin D (yesterday I took 3000iu and will again today) I find I am back to myself...not 100% but pretty close.

Maddie - no idea who Beck is but her books are about cognitive behavior, so I have high hopes.
Rosebud - good for you getting your christmas list down, i have more to go on mine.
Aunty Jam - I agree about the time change. But I'm finding that I do better in the fall than the spring.
When it rains it pours. I'm on a roll and went to the gym today but as I was getting out I ended up on the ground. Ice! Landed square on my shoulder, hit my knee and scraped my back, so I came right now. I'm sure sore now.

MADDIE ~ her name is DR. JUDITH BECK, and she wrote THE BECK SOLUTION and companion workbook, I believe. There is a complete forum here now at 3fc's for this great work. I love the things she has to say -- they make so much sense. You can go and follow their main chat thread in that forum (which I like to do every now and then as well). If you go back and read the previous threads, you can get a really good idea of her cognitive ideas and techniques ... :D
OH, DONNA ~ I am sooo sorry about your fall on ice today, and have sent up some prayers for you for comfort and a quick recovery. Hope no long-term injuries there either. Rest as much as you can ...
I have to get a colonoscopy test done on November 22, which I sure hope goes well; pre-op preparation consult the Wednesday before. Oh boy -- such fun ...
We have had full :sunny: for 4 days in a row now; what a wonderful blessing for us up here in our area. Still no 'white stuff' yet ... and that's OK, it will be here soon enuff, I'm sure. Hey girls -
I'm still here. Just been quiet lately. Talk about a weather funk - it's been raining here non-stop now for 5 days. Still going strong as I speak. It's supposed to stop sometime through the night or morning I believe and we may even see this thing called a sun for a bit tomorrow. I swear even the ducks are hitchhiking out of the area cause they are as water logged as we are! Some places have declared states of emergency due to flooding and risk of dam breaks. I am glad it isn't snow though or we would be buried by now.
Food hasn't been great lately. Not too bad but not as good as it should be. I am going to stock up this week on more good stuff and my plan is on Sunday to make a few things and freeze so that I don't have to "cook" as much through the week. It's just me and I find I get tired of just cooking for me. So this way I can re-heat and add veggies/salads etc. Its worked in the past - I just have to make the effort on sundays to do it.
Tomorrow is my Friday. Thursday and friday off for my last time off till after the new year. No special plans, but a break from work.
Hope you all have a good evening!

Too bad my throat is sore,my nose is stuffed up and my head is pounding. Lovely. So I'll be mia for a while. Kids are home today and tomorrow (inservice day) so I just want to lay low to get over this asap.

Maddie - feel better soon!!
I was back to it today after resting for two days. I have a great 55 minute workout at the gym and did my entire body, I'm a bit sore but it feels good too! Rosebud - Want to come and be my maid? Come on... I'll even let you snuggle my super cute doggy. Good luck with your procedure.
Maddie - I take 2000 iu a day of D as my doctor perscribed, I'm glad that it can help with SAD. Especially since my light box is broken and the company has been less the helpful with the problem. I'm going to Houston next week and they get more sun then we do... last time I was there I spent every spare minute outside soaking up some rays. I plan to do the same this trip.
Alannah - Good luck with all that water, I've seen some of the pictures. What a mess! I can't imagine the damage.
Donna - Hoarders does the same thing to me. So you're all healed up from your fall? Wouldn't it be nice if we could have summer sunshine hours all year round... ahhh... heaven ;)

Hi Canadian gals! I haven't forgotten about you. I've been super busy with work and working out! :)
Aunty Jam: About the boxing.. I took a one month muay Thai boxing course in Thailand a few years ago, and it was intense. I lost weight, but then once away from the intense environment where I lived and breathed for a month, I ended up gaining the weight back. I did love the experience and like to kick butt once in awhile! :D
Maddie: I hope you feel better soon!
snowbound: congrats on working out and getting back into it. :carrot:
I hear you on feeling sore. I am feeling a bit sore from doing weights again after being away so long. I figure that this pain will be gone by next week after keeping it consistent..hopefully anyway.
Rosebud: Prayers with you on your upcoming operation. See any snow lately? It has been sunny here too but it is supposed to go down to -4 tonight..eek!
Alannah: Enjoy your time off! Hope you are not too water logged. :dizzy:

Hey ladies,
I'm always checking this site out but lately I haven't been posting since i felt like i was not budging on the scale at all.
The more I look around, the more I see positive and uplifting people and it seems no matter how hard i try I can't seem to get into the right frame of mind. Sometimes I wonder if I should head on over to the depression forum but yet, I'm not on meds, and I don't think I'm overly depressed.
I just heard the other day from a friend of mine that we are in control of our "psyche" and if we think positive thoughts we become a positive person, and vice versa. i'll have to try that and be like the "little engine that could"
Right now I have joined a BIGGEST LOSER group in my home town and the scale is finally moving again. it seems the motivation is here again and I hope it stays! We all had to pay $25 to join, and at every weekly weigh in if we stay the same or gain we pay $5. If we lose we pay nothing. At the end of the 6 weeks whoever lost the most percentage of fat wins the pot of money!!
My goal is to not to pay the $5 every week. Not so much the pot at the end, but don't get me wrong, the pot would be great too!!
I have made it down to 236.8 lbs and my goal is to see the 220's again!!

Hi JJ, That is great about joining the biggest loser in your home town. I really like the idea of paying 5$ if you gain or stay the same. That could be a big pot by six weeks! Best of luck on that.
I do agree that having positive thoughts is crucial for success. I continually tell myself positive things and thoughts, because I believe if you can think it, then you can believe it. I was negative in the past and my self esteem suffered because of it, but then I changed it around by thinking positive. I do have down days (like today), and just can't move and need to just be alone..but try writing down a positive mantra like, 'I am doing awesome', 'I can get into the 220's', and repeat it to yourself. Try it for a few weeks. ;)
---
Welcome back, Cindy! I'd love to see the pups too!
Congrats on getting near to your second goal. :carrot:
Aunty Jam, I travelled in SE Asia for three months, and spent vacations in Thailand when I was teaching in Korea for three years. I wanted to challenge myself and decided to take this one month on site boxing course. I do have a blog about my experience on my 3fc blog if you want to read about my experience.
Today my dad told me he would give me $100 when I lose another 10 pounds. I thought it so nice of him to say this. That'll mean I'll be mostly at my 10% goal by then. Today was a down day for me. I didn't sleep much last night, and slept for most of the day, which meant I missed my workout. I guess my body is telling me something. Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks JoJo, I'm going to try the positive thinking thing! It makes sense to me and it can't hurt ;)
In weighed in on wednesdayand I had not lost anything on her scale. On my scale at home I had lost 5 lbs so I'm not sure whats going on. My scale is newer than hers. I just bought it in July and it's the biggest loser brand that tells you % of weight lost and will keep beginning weight in the memory. This morning I was down to 235:carrot: but now I'm unsure because of the differences in the scale. It was a real bummer when I had to pay the $5 but I plan on getting it all back at the end:)
cinm..I used to breed labs and it kept me pretty busy. When I had my last baby I decided that i couldn't spend the time that I wanted to with the dogs and decided to call it quits. we only had two "girls" but still that is time consuming. maybe once my kids are grown I can get into it again but time will tell. All the CKC paperwork, and contracts got to me and if anything ever went wrong I would feel terrible. In all the years we did it we only had one minor problem regarding eyes but that was it. I'd love to see your website!!
take care all, and have a great weekend:hug:

Hey all!
Just to let you know that I wil probably not be posting all that often anymore. I am getting a lot more days teaching than what I was expecting (yay!!) and as a result, decided to go and start with a personal trainer. I need someone real to be accountable to and someone who will motivate me and not sugarcoat when I screw up. I am just meeting with him once a week for starters and then moving it up to twice a week when I am in range of bathing suit weather. ;)
I hope each of you makes your goal and it was great being a part of your forum!
Take care!

 HI LADIES ~ boy, lots of posting since I was last here; have been busy lately too. Helping a friend out over the last while -- lots of emailing back & forth, but it was important for her. DH got stranded on a big run on Thursday; had me all stressed out ~ did make a few unhealthy choices, but managed to stay below maintenance cals for the day: phew! Have done my toning exercises each morning faithfully plus got some walking in too, and that helps a lot, I'm sure.
DONNA ~ glad you are feeling better; thanks for the prayers & good thoughts about that procedure ...
JJ ~ TOPS is kinda like that too; you have to pay if you gain weight. Eeks, I probably wouldn't do well there as I have so much water-weight fluctuations in my body ... ;) That was a nice offer your Dad made you; trying to give you support & motivation too, I think! I have a little book that I wrote out dozens of positive mini-mantras -- very handy!
JOJO ~ I am a big fan of POSITIVE THINKING; has really helped me in my life, for sure ... :D
MADDIE ~ sorry to hear you are leaving us; we enjoyed your company ... drop by anytime you have a moment to spare!
AUNTY ~ your doggies are sure cute; but I have lots to keep me busy here. DH says one of his hobbies is work creation; I told him to stop being so creative or I'll bonk him on the noggin' ...
ALANNAH ~ gee, sorry to hear about all those floods and the damage; it seems, it either rains or storms out there, eh? ^Prayers are ascending^ for your area ...
Well, I hope I didn't miss anyone; not intentional. We have had :sunny: for over a week now and warm temps during the day, but it all changed today. Clouds rolled in with some low temps; and DH says that we now have a light dusting starting to fall out there right now.
I just finished up another novel as well; nice way to spend a few quiet hours in the evening. Hope you all have a lovely Sunday tomorrow ... Rosebud :flow2:

I've just been kinda plugging along lately. Lose 1, gain 1 or stay the same. But its my fault cause i'm just having a hard time getting back in the WL groove again. I do decent for a few days and then not so good for a couple.
Amazingly the rain stopped on Friday and we have actually had a nice weekend. Warm and sunny. I even bathed the dog outside yesterday. Albeit a quick one but she didn't care. Her fur is so thick the water barely gets to her skin anyway. She loved every minute of it. At least she was nice and clean when she went back to her daddy's house today. I'll get her back on Thursday after work.
Tomorrow is my last day off and then back to it until after the new year. I'll only have weekends til then. Oh well, I am done there by the end of January and I can't wait. I am hoping to find something sooner but this is a bad time of year for job search so we'll see what happens.
Hope everyone ahd a nice weekend!

ALANNAH ~ glad that you had nice weather for the weekend -- that's cute that you share your dog with someone! What kind of work do you do? You probably already mentioned it but I just forget as so many people on this site talk about their jobs. I hope you will find one that you like real soon ... ^^^prayers ascending ^^^
Those light flurries quickly turned into :rain: last night; we could hear it on our tin roof too. They are forecasting some for tomorrow if the temps go down far enuff -- otherwise, we'll have some more rain ...
Have a wonderful week everyone ... Rosebud :flow2:

Hi,
I finally hit 189 Saturday :carrot:feels so good to see the 80's:D Now the next goal.I also ordered the other Jillian Michaels video.I have been breeding German shorthair pointers since 1999 and French bulldogs since 2006 it is very time consuming with contracts, ckc papers(much easier now that it is online) and vets etc..but I do love it.You can see pups at http://www.doublebarrelkennels.com/Content.asp?id=582&mnuid=14455&HDR=Available+gsp+pups and take a look around my web site.
Was suppose to rain this am but held out and the sun is trying to come through:)

Hi all from Ontario!
I just found you when looking through for other things. I'm in SW Ontario, and have been yo-yo'ing for many years. I'm in a bit of a rut lately and couldn't seem to get motivated again. I'm ready to start working away at it again.
Just thought I would say hi :)

:welcome: RUBY ~ glad that you came back; just keep on, keepin' on ... that's what really matters ...
 HI CINDI ~ will take a look at your site ...
We had a tiny bit of sun, but more clouds today; and DH says it ***** a little bit out there, but it is supposed to clear up for tomorrow. It is mid-November and we still have green grass; gettin' spoiled this year for sure ...
Got lots of exercise today, dusting & washing floors plus a bit of laundry; had cabbage rolls for dinner (healthy & yummy too) ...
Have a great night everyone ... Rosebud :flow2:

hey Ruby...I'm in SW ontario as well, near Woodstock actually. Good luck and keep us posted!
I checked out your site Cindie...very nice work. The GSP's are beautiful. I've always admired them. There was a hunter in my obedience class that had a speckled one and everyone loved that dog.
What a blah day here:( no sun, only clouds and the rain just started.
I go to weigh in tomorrow for the weekly weigh in for the biggest loser competition...wish me luck. I think I'll not eat a thing till after my weigh in. Ha ha.

:hug:DONNA ~ I can understand how tiring it can be to put in a full day at work and then try to go to a gym too; that is why I do my toning exercises first thing in the AM. I feel the freshest then and it only takes a few minutes (I started out at 8-10 minutes); later, I increased them, just becuz I found them helping me so much ...
I do tummy tucks & crunches; thigh lateral squeezes (sounds weird but they work; learned these at a gym too); plus butt squeezes -- I do all these on my bed before getting up. Later on in the day, I do some chair half-situps while waiting for stuff to come up on my PC (good use of time).
I also do some hand-weights about 3 days a week; again, just for about 10 minutes. These are supposed to help increase your metabolism all day long, and strengthen your muscles too. If you don't have hand-weights, you can just use a couple of food cans instead. These are all easy things to do at home to replace the gym, if needs be.
I think I will share my daily eating menu with you all so that you can see what I am doing each day; this is my healthier lifestyle plan ... for breakfast I had about 1 cup cooked OATMEAL (that was mixed with part natural cream of wheat). I made up 3 servings of it yesterday and just nuked some for today. Sometimes, I have a tsp brown sugar or 1 tbl NSA maple syrup, and a little skim milk. I also had 1/2 banana & a coffee when I first got up.
For lunch I had two small bowls of spicy veggie chicken & rice soup with 1/2 slice whole grain bran bread; boy, filling and yummy.
For an afternoon snack, I had 1/2 cup bran flakes & the other half of the banana. Morning snack was two wg soda crackers with a tsp of low fat peanut butter and a coffee.
Dinner was turkey thighs with small potatoes, a piece of yam, and lots of mixed veggies (onions, celery, carrots, green beans, turnip, broccoli, etc). I have some leftover for my lunch tomorrow.
Tonight, I had 1/4 cup pineapple, an apple, and tea so far for my snack. On my plan, I am allowed to have a second small breakfast mid-morning if I want to; and as many small, healthy snacks as I need to feel satisfied.
Things are going well; we did fall cleaning today -- that's good exercise and got some walking in too. We had a nice mix of :sunny: and clouds today; but now it is clearing up a bit and I can see that half moon and a few stars up there right now.
Have a great Wednesday everyone ... Rosebud :flow2:

Thanks for sharing all that Rosebud!
It's hard staying motivated but I'm committed to this process and continue to work on staying positive and not dwelling, it's really hard when I have so much emotional baggage right now but I'm working on it on a daily basis. Yesterday was a great day or reading some really moving and inspirational stuff that has got me thinking and planning.
My sleep schedule is messed up again not sure how but I'm sleeping later again even when I'm in bed early. So I'm working on that and will continue to work the exercise in.

Hi ladies! Thanks all for the welcomes :)
Snowbound ~ Staying motivated can be so difficult as it is, but I find it worse when I'm stressing or tired. I find my sleep schedule messed up too lately, and I am working on getting that in line :)
JJ ~ Hi! I'm in the Windsor area .. much nicer up your way!
Are you all following plans, or counting calories, or doing your own thing?
Hope you are all having a great Wednesday!

Woohoo...I didn't have to pay today!! I was down .6lbs, not much but still a loss.:)
Ruby~I try to do WW at home. I have the book and slider and I try to log everything I eat. Some days I just want to throw in the towel, especially when it seems like i did everything right and the scale still doesn't budge.:?:
Donna~keep up the good work. I'm not sure what you are going through but remember that everyone has a burden, just many of them we can't see. I'm thinking about you and you amaze me. You, in the midst of everything, still get your exercise in and have something cheerful to say:hug:
rosebud~you are the sunshine here!! I have to smile every time I see a sparkly post from you.:D

THANKS LADIES ~ we had a tiny bit of :sunny: and we also have ***** but we knew that it would come eventually and it did ...
My best computer crashed on me today; caught some doozy of a virus for sure. Using my old PC but she's sooooooo slooooooooow -- oh well, I managed to get in here to read & post a bit. I will do my best with it until I can get another good one, as the other one is shot for now.
Did my pre-op for the colonoscopy that I have to have @ 10 AM on Monday morning. Picked up all my juices, gaterades, and pop for the liquid fast day before ... oh boy ... ;)
Have a FANTABULOUS FRIDAY tomorrow, ladies ...

Hi Canadian gals!
Welcome, ruby2day! Love that name btway! :)
Just checking to see how you were all doing, and it sounds like you are keeping on track.
Rosebud, good luck on your pre-op! I can't believe you got snow. We are supposed to get it tomorrow..yikes!
Donna, keep up the good work. Did you get to see a counsellor yet?
JJ, how did your weigh in go? Wish you luck!
--
I had my weigh in today, and I lost 3 pounds! I think it is all the hard work and jogging/weights I've been doing at the gym. Just hit my 5% goal, so I'm super motivated right now. Now that the colder weather is coming, I know it'll be harder to get to the gym cause I'll have to walk in the cold.

Hey everyone!!! I'm back in Canada... I meant to send greetings from sunny Houston while I was there but didn't have a whole lot of time. What a shock it was to come home! It was 25°c in Houston, get home to Edmonton and it's -20°c!!!! We're having a cold snap that's supposed to end today... I think it was -32°c before the wind chill last night. I didn't get some plants covered before I left for Houston so I hope they don't die back to badly :(
Houston was ****...o on my diet!!! Eating out EVERY meal, wine and/or beer every night!!! I tried to pick healthier choices but you know how it is. I didn't drink nearly as much as some people but still did my fair share. I'm scared to get on the scale... I haven't weighed myself since before I left :(
Jojo - Your travels sound like fun... that's something that is on my list of must do's before I die... kind of like a bucket list I guess. I am going to travel.. I just need the cash to do it and a husband who isn't so nervous about flying and the unknown! LoL
Cinm - I will be checking out your puppies... can't wait, I love pointers!
JJ - Labs period are enough to keep anyone busy and breeding them even more so. I commend you for choosing to give them up when you felt you couldn't do a good enough job, you must have great standards.
Rosebud - How did your procedure go? Hope you're feeling alright. Do you have much snow now? We got dumped on... 8" while I was gone in Houston.
Greetings Ruby :)
Hi to everyone else! I'm very glad to read about the weight loss going on here... helps to motivate me to get back to it.

JJ: Great news that you didn't have to pay. When will you know the winner of the pot? How did it go this week?
Aunty Jam: What a huge change from Houston to Edmonton? I hope you don't get sick because of the change. It sounds like you enjoyed yourself ;)
When will you weigh yourself? Best of luck on getting back on plan! :)

It was soo cold here today. Went down to -11 last night which is the coldest night we had thus far. We are supposed to get snow tomorrow, but we haven't got any white stuff yet. It sounds like many parts of Canada have had snow.
Feeling yucky today. Just started my TOM yesterday, and weighed in today at .5 up. I wanted to try some clothes on today, but considering I'm so bloated, I'll wait till next week. I'm getting my hair done this weekend, and I can't wait. I hope everyone has a great week!

We've had tons of snow this week but we've been having nice weather and when I say nice I'm thinking between -7 and -11, that's nice for us. It seems warm compared to -30°C.
Things are good we've had sickness in the house, my little one just got chicken pox yesterday, so he's the last one of the boys to get it. DH and I were down with something for 24 hrs, so I had to stay away from my Dad.
I worked out this morning, first time since I fell 2 weeks ago, it felt great. Eatings going good and I'm glad it's not our Thanksgiving but I do have a birthday party to give for my middle guy on the 5th, he'll be 6.
Mentally starting to feel in a good place.

Hey Ladies..
JoJoOnce again I didn't have to pay!! I was down 1.6lbs so that was good. what i don't understand is the total pig out I had afterwards. You'd think that i would be motivated and keep on keeping on (I'm quoting Rosebud here)
what's up with that??? But you never know, I may still be OK. It seems my appetite is not what it once was so this overfull feeling i have had could really not mean I ate as bad as I did. I've got my fingers crossed.
Donna I hope all is well in your home soon again. i know the sick kid thing all too well. All of mine have had the chicken pox and the oldest had it pretty bad. I kept him in an oatmeal bath for most of the time to make it more bearable for both of us.;)
Aunty Jam Yes, my standards were pretty high. I was not a backyard breeder. These puppies were born in the living room, and some I even had to resuscitate mouth to mouth. Not the nicest thing to have to do, but you don't really think at the moment. I envy anyone who's had warm weather...I love about 20 c..a gentle breeze, a good book and a coffee. AAAHHH!
Anyone ever try the PGX daily pills? Did they work for you?

:welcome: Ms. Green ~ glad you found us Canadians over here ... come back and tell us more about yourself; just chat away ...:D
Monday was a long day for me; didn't get home til 4:30 pm. They found 2 polyps which they removed right away, so I had to stay on liquids for another 26 hours so they could heal up (as one was a big larger than the other). Was sure hungry by Tueday night. I ate pretty good for the rest of the week, but a few too many nuts tonight. Will try to learn something from this and do better in the future ... ;)
We got dumped with ***** too the last 2 days; with lots of blowing winds too, but now we feel nice and cozy warm. The snow acts like a nice cocoon around the building and DH piles it up high. I did the front porch myself the last 2 days; good exercise and fresh air.
We got our Nativity Creche up and our candle lights; but I have to put something in my Snowman as the winds knock him over. I'm thinking of birdseed, which I'll feed to the birdiers after Christmas ... Well, we can't get sand around here right now; it's buried by snow ... :D
Hope all our Canadians friends have a wonderful weekend ... Rosebud :flow2:

Hi Ms. Green  glad ya found us.
Seems Canada is quiet lately!
Rosebud - Hope you've healed up and are feeling better!
Cinm - I wish I could have a snow day!
JJ - I am so glad you weren't a back yard breeder... I have a really hard time holding my tongue when I meet those people... ggggrrrrrrrrr! I love my mutts and I wouldn't trade them for anything... but I hate those people who are intentionally breeding those "designer" dogs... labradoodles, that's not a breed! That's a lab/poodle cross! And people who charge hundreds for mutts? Have they been to a shelter lately??? (Sorry.... I get a little carried away)
Jojo - Well, I weighed myself... :sigh: 148, I'm up 3 pounds from where I've been sitting for months. I'm disgusted with myself, 145 isn't my goal weight... why was I letting myself sit there??? And now I've gained? ACK! I didn't get sick but I did stay indoors as much as possible. It's finally warmed up here to -8 today but it's really windy.

Welcome green5! How's the weather in Newfoundland. :)
snowboundchick, good to hear you are mentally doing better.
JJCanada, I'm so happy to hear you didn't have to pay! How was it this week?
Cinm, how is the new shred video going? 2 snow days already. That's crazy! We had a dusting of snow thus far, and it didn't stay on the ground. I'm not too upset that we haven't got much yet. It rained today instead.
Rosebud, I hope you are feeling better from your surgery. I can't believe you also got so much snow as well. Good to hear you got to shovel some of that white stuff. Maybe you can make a snowman soon. :D
Aunty Jam.. don't be so hard on yourself, hun. I know it is frustrating, but just keep at it. I think it is harder when you have less to lose. I've heard that you lose at a slower rate. I'd love to be at your weight right now. ;)
---
I've been working out alot at the gym, and last Sunday I ate too much at my parents. I then have ate out both yesterday and today. I feel like I've gained weight, and I'm worried about getting on the scale in a few days. I have to get back into my groove. I hate eating out cause I get off track at times. Old habits die hard. I hope everyone has a great week!

Aw Jojo thanks... you're sweet. I think a part of me needs to be disgusted with myself... I've let myself stall, indulge in junk and be lazy. I need my arse kicked I think.
Hubby got a job offer in Texas... wouldn't that be a hoot! He had to turn them down, we just can't go.
Hey... we need a December thread!!! Wow this November one is short!
