WW Clubs and Groups - Thursday Weigh-In Results for November
It's so hard to imagine that it's November. Christmas is getting closer each day. Are we all ready for it---weight-wise????
I'm working so hard to be down some more by Thanksgiving.
The holidays are to be enjoyed-not to worry about gaining (even thought we have to watch over-eating). I love to make pumpkin pies and eat all the sweet potatoes I want. Of course, the turkey is very healthy. :)
Everyone post their results for this first week of Nov. (Turkey month).
Tina
145 personal goal
Guess I will start off the Thursday WI reports.
Scale showed a 2.8 loss
Total 82.2 lbs
10.8 lbs to goal
Whooooooooooooohhoooooooo
Guess all I had to do was come back here and get all your support to get back on track.
Thanks all ;)
Yea!!!!! Kady!!!!!
That is a super way to come back---great loss!!!
I weighed at home this morning. I'm not gonna tell ya what it said. :( :( :(
I'm soooo disgusted. I drank 4 diet drinks yesterday. Can we say "water retention." Y'all are probably so tired of hearing me talk about drinkiing too many colas and then have wt. Yep, I'm sure you are. Now why on earth can't I have enough will-power to stay away from them!
Today I'm at home all day. I've filled my 4-cup measuring cup with water and I'm drinking every time I pass it. I'm determined to get at least 8 glasses down today.
Okay, who else wants to rant and rave OR share their results?
tina
Just stopping in to wish everyone good luck today. I haven't made up my mind if I am going to WI or not. I'll check in later. :) ...Sis
Well, my verdict is in. I was up 2.5. Not nearly as bad as I expected. :D But one down note about the meeting. Our leader has changed! :( I will miss my old leader a lot!!! She was awsome! This lady is nice but when you have someone you really like its hard for someone else to just step in. This will be a challenge for me to go when I know the old leader isn't there. I tended to skip meetings when she wasn't the leader. But I will give this leader a fair chance. I'm sure she has a lot to offer us too. I'll keep you guys posted. Have a great week end alll...Sis :D
Tina , I too was a addict to diet cola.....I have for the most part removed them from my diet....I allow myself a bottle once a week if I want it...I find when I drink water I dont need the coke
Sis I know what you mean about leaders. You do get attached to them . The one I started with left ( which for me wasnt a bad thing ) as the new one was much better. She was temporary then decided to renew for a year. I told her she had to stay till I hit goal.....She makes it an enjoyable learning experience. She's very real and very helpful.

Congratulations to everyone that lost!!! Great!
I stayed the same, but that's OK. I have been back to the journaling, but not the best on water. The food hasn't been bad, and I haven't been snacking before bedtime.
I still am drinking too much pop. It's the real thing since I need to stay away from the Nutrasweet. Too much sugar and empty calories. I'm addicted. I have tried to drink more water at school when I eat lunch. Even one of the other teachers mentioned it when I drank water instead of pop for lunch a couple times.

Hey Tammy~ Staying the same is great too! You have been able to maintain the weight you've lost so far which is a great thing! :)
Tina~I'm right there with ya girl on the diet sodas! I want soda, but I don't want the calories/points so I go for diet. BUT, I just drink so much soda taht I know it has to be hurting me at weigh in time... Ok, that's it, I'm not gonna have a soda this week.. Or I'm gonna try. I'll let ya know if I make it...
Congratulations to Kira and Tammy!!
Tammy- staying tha same is good right now after all the Halloween candy.
Kira, don't try to stay away from the diet sodas for a whole week. Our bodies are so used to them that you don't want total withdrawal symptoms. I am trying to cut back to one a day. (This makes me sound like a total addict. Some days I only have 1 and some days I have 3.)
Be proud of me group, yesterday I drank 8 glasses of water and didn't have a Diet Coke until 4:30 p.m. and that was the only one I had. I'm going to try this again today because I usually have 2 on Saturdays.
Has anyone tried the new Burger King chili? I've heard it's a really good 4 pt. lunch---and it's only 99 cents.

Tina~ You were SO right....I totally crashed and burned.. I'm actually drinking a Diet Coke right now. I didn't think I was really "addicted" to it, but I see now that I could very well be. :) Way to go on your water! Your AWESOME!!
Greetings!
I weighed on my scales and stayed the same--which is better than gaining.
Kira, don't be hard on yourself for drinking a Diet Coke. Just get in enough water to compensate. I've been told that for every diet drink--drink 2 extra glasses of water. I don't always do that but it sounds good.
Good luck group.
Tina
No WI for me this week. Too busy. Just stopping by to wish everyone else good luck at the scales. I'm hoping to do much better next week. Have a GREAT week end all.....Sis :D
Hey Sis,
I'm glad you aren't too busy to post. ;)
You have a good rest of the week and a good weekend.
How did everyone else do??????
Tina
Well this week I am down .4 lbs. At least its a downward move. I had 3 diet cokes this past week ( usually I limit it to one/week) and snacking on Spudz ( salt) I think that plus time of the month gave me the low loss.BUT I will take it.
KiraR- welcome...you are well on your way. Congrats on your losses. You are on the same journey of all of us.
When I started in Jan I was at 268...now I am 185. 10 lbs from my goal. Its amazing what can happen in 11 months.
I hope next week is better.

YEA!!!! I weighed in today, and am down to 246! I made my goal of losing 10% of my starting weight! I got my key chain today at the meeting. I was really surprised that I did it this week, I figured it would take me 2 weeks.
Our group is doing Great!!!
Kady, you should be soooo proud of yourself for you loss. I'm proud of you! Wow If you don't mind, please tell us how your life has changed after losing all that weight. :flow1:
Kira, congratulations  You made your 10%.
Let's all have a great weekend.

You guys are doing great! I gained 3 pounds, but then I started feeling crampy and checked the calendar. Yep! It's that time again! Maybe those 3 will be gone by Thursday, or at least part of them!!!
Aced I know the feeling...I have had a two week cycle since the beginning just like you...one high week, one low week. I used to fret about the low weeks but then I just realized that my body knows what its doing...I just had to keep doing what I needed to.
Kira- wow..congrats..it feels so good to achieve a goal you have set...now there is no stopping you...you can go the whole way.
Tina..hmmmm how has my life changed.??? Good question. For one thing...I feel good about myself...I am more confident and I think people take me more seriously now. I am proud of my accomplishments. When I walk I hold my head up higher. I have a lot more energy now and generally feel better. I get more done.
I have also rewired my handling of stress...before I would eat...now I go for a walk or clean house or plan meals ( well balanced ones)
Oh yeah...I have found that I like shopping for clothes LOL...its so very nice to be able to buy something you like not just something that fits.
I still have a way to go....10 to dr. goal...and then at least 10 more to my own goal.
At our meeting we were given a paper to write a weight related goal that we want to acheive...Mine will be to continue going to WW meetings and journalling AFTER I reach lifetime. I want to make this a lifetime activity so I never again gain it all back.
Weigh to go all.....
It's the beginning or another weigh in week. :)
Kady, I love the answer to my question. I'm so proud of you.
About the clothes thing--I remember after I made lifetime, I went to my favorite department store and tried on one of those sexy evening dresses. It was such a fantastic feeling. ;)
I hope we all have good news of losses this week.
Tammy, hopefully, you won't be the same but will have a loss.
Susan, I bet you're trying to lose before your surgery. How long will you be off your feet?
Sis, Saffista, everyone else, I'll be looking for your post.

Well after last weeks low weight loss of .4 I lost 2.4 this week which brought me to my total loss of 85 pounds since Jan 2, 2002. I have 8 more lbs to go till my goal. I am still hoping to get there BEFORE Christmas. ( cross your fingers and toes for me all of you).
Tina , how long did it take you to get to your goal? How long has it been since you did?
Are you ready for my weigh in results??? Of course you are!!!!
Can you tell that I'm excited----
I lost 2 pounds!!!!!!!!!
This is such a big thing for me since it's been so long in coming.
I'm writing down everything that goes into my mouth. I haven't given up my diet drinks but am drinking more water now---and exercise is becoming a habit.
 :hat: :flow1:
Kady----Good going on your loss. You knew you'd be down this time. I have a good feeling that you'll lose all that weight by Christmas.
I did not have as much to lose as some people. It took me about 5 months to reach goal and then there was the maintenance, of course. That was in 1993, I think. :) Now, I have to admit that it's been at least 2 years since I've been in goal range. However, I'm back on track, finally.
Hope everyone has a great weigh in this time. If not, next time will be good.

Hi all
It's been almost a year since I've posted & also since I've tried to keep to some kind of plan. I'm surprised that I haven't gained more weight than I have! I have been reading the posts but just haven't had any incentive to do anything. But starting today I've made up my mind to start doing something again. Instead of bringing chocolate bars to work with me I'm taking fruit. Instead of a hotdog for lunch I'm going to have a nice big salad. Yesterday I walked to work(35 min walk) & today I'm going to do the same. Water-I've got a jug in the fridge & when I've finished that I know I've had my 8 cups.
Well I hope I'll be able to add something to the board. It's nice to be back
take care

Well.....here we are again, another Thursday. I weighed in today, it's the first time I've ever gained at a weigh in. I thought I did pretty good this week so I must say I was a little surprised. I gained 1.4 pounds. The group leader said that it could be added muscle weight from working out and lifting weights. I hope she's right though.
I'm kinda looking at like this: I lost about 3.5 ounds last week, and gaining back 1.4 isn't so bad, maybe it is muscle or maybe it's water. I haven't done anything terrible this week in the way of eating so if I just stay the course I'll be fine.
Anyway, i guess that's all. Has anyone else had a similar weigh in experience?
Well I don't know how I managed it but after a 2.5 lb gain week before last (I didn't WI last week.) I was down 1.25. I was happy with that since I have been having a very hard time the last few weeks. Not sure why. Hope everyone else had good luck at the scales. Have a great week end....Sis :D

Kady, I liked your stress ideas. Now I just need to do the same as you. Congratulations for getting a handle on things!! And only 8 pounds to goal? That is super!
Congrats on the 2 pounds Tina!! lol Yes, we could tell that you were excited. You deserve it!! I'm proud of you for journaling. I get it started for a couple days, then I don't do it.
Welcome Back Maureen!!! I used to keep a jug of water in the fridge and do the same thing. Wonder why I don't do that anymore?? Might have to get it started again.
Kira, I think your leader is probably right. Years ago when I was first doing WW, I also started working out at the Y. Oh my! I gained one week that I had been extremely good. I was crushed, but then when they told me what they thought it was, I felt much better. Don't go so much by the number on the scales. Go by your measurements and the way that your clothes fit(or the way they don't fit when they get too big!!!).
Good job Sis!
Now for my own report. I lost the 3 pounds that I was up last week because of TOM, and I also lost another pound!!! I was thrilled!
Has anyone ever heard of Curves? It's a fitness/weighloss place for women. I joined this past Monday, and have done 2 workouts so far. I went on Mon. and Wed. I'll go tomorrow after school or Sat. morning. They recommend a day of rest between workouts (strength training machines). I know they are all over the US. Since I'm not attending WW meetings, I thought I'd give something else a try. I can still do the Points thing (when I get the materials out), but now I am doing more than just walking for my workouts. I'll be getting weighed there once a week, and I will also be measured once a month. They also did a body fat reading and the BMI. I think my body fat was 100%. Well, maybe not quite that high, but it was alot higher than it should be. Should be interesting to see how that changes with the workouts.
I think that I've written a book. Glad tomorrow is Friday!!!!!!!!

Hello all
first I wanted to say to Kirar if your reading this don't get upset over weight gain if you are using weights the chances are it is muscle gain not fat muscle weighs more than fat. I was going to the gym last year worked my but off for almost 11 months then on my last 6 weeks weigh in I totally lost it when i found out i had gained 6 lbs ( first 6 weeks I lost 14 inches and 7 lbs) so being the person I am I quit now i'm back to square 1 so PLEASE don't make the same mstake I did ok keep working out and you'll see a difference I see I did the wrong thing by giving up now I have to start over oh well live and learn hope you learn from my mistakes rather than finding out i'm right the hard way.
ok now for my weigh in today been on herbalife of 7 days and I lost 2 lbs YIP YEE! had a terrible craving to day for chocolate actually went to the store to buy a candy bar and fought with myself in the store for 10 minutes but I won I PUT IT BACK AND WALKED AWAY!:smug: so 1 battle won but not the war.

Kira- dont fret over the weight gain. Whether its hormones, water or muscle...if you've been doing what you know you must do...eventually the scale will show it. I have found that the weeks that I lose the least or show a slight gain- are the weeks that I notice the biggest changes in my clothes. Next week, things will even out. Keep your eye on the total losses not each individual weeks. My weight loss fluctuated widely but each month I hit the same losses. Guess the body knows what it is doing.
Tina- WOW on th e2 lb loss....you have really struggled with it and its nice that you are seeing the results of your efforts.
Tammy Curves is in Canada too...lots of people love it. I just dont like the 1 year committment you need to make ( here in Canada anyway) I like to have more flexibility. Guess its a good thing I prefer walking and aquacise.

Tammy/Angel-Feathers/Kady~Thanks so much for the encouragement. I'm gonna keep trying and I know eventually I'll end up ahead of the game. Thanks again, you all are super! :)
Happy Friday,
Kira, ditto to everything said! When you have a gain, just try on some of your clothes and see that they are starting to fit better. That gives me a boost. You really are doing super!
Tammy-----WOW what else can be said:D :D :D
Your loss is terrific.
Sis---Way to go!
Angel-feathers--welcome. And, congratulations on beginning again. :bravo: A special bravo for putting back that chocolate.
These days, I find it very difficult to pass the candy at the check-out when I'm so tired and would love a little "pick-me-up."
Tammy--we have a Curves for Women that just opened up about 2 miles from me. They're having a special intro. offer of $49. I don't know if that's per month or what. Please tell us what you do each time you go.

Kady, I did have to make a 1-year commitment to Curves. My hubby wasn't pleased with that part of it. I wasn't thrilled, but so far I really am enjoying it.
At Curves, I will pay $29 a month. When you go in, you do a warm-up which usually I just march in place. There are quite a few machines. They don't have adjustable weights on them. They are hydraulic (?) and the resistence depends on how fast you move the parts. The machines work different body parts. There is one that is bothering my lower back, so I know I'm going to have to do something different on that one. I noticed a couple other women did too. After each machine, you walk/march in place, then on to the next machine.
After all of the machines, you do stretches according to a wall chart. Hold each stretch for 15 seconds. Also during the routine, you stop and take your pulse rate at least 3 times. From the beginning to the end of the workout, is about 30 minutes (a little bit more). I think that's why I like it. I get in, do my thing, and I get out.
Tomorrow I have an in-service meeting after school, but I have my clothes packed to change into to head to Curves right afterwards. I should be home by 5:30-6:00.
Can't believe that it's Sunday already. Weekends go fast. Sad thing is, we didn't have school on Friday becuase of icy roads! I always want more time off!!! lol
This week we have school on Mon. and Tues. Then we are out till the following Monday. We didn't take a day off earlier in the month when we had conferences, so we are taking the day before Thanksgiving off. Time to get stuff done for the big day!
Take care!
Tammy, thanks for telling us about Curves. I think the price is $49 here. I don't think I want to commit for a whole year, though.
I'm going to start another weigh in results thread for this month. This one is sooooo long.
