Time for a new thread ladies! Woot Woot!

Thanks for the new thread, Jyoyo! I have had a strange reaction to WS from yesterday and I will make the disclaimer that I did not drink water ALL day. Bad me! I am retaining SO much fluid, it is unreal. Like puffy as a puffer fish, and I cannot help but worry, are these products loaded with sodium?? Or is it because I drank no water all day? If I drink the prescribed amount of water, will the sodium not affect me? I am totally SALT sensitive.

Hey Jen!
I drank little to no extra water yesterday which was really bad so I totally deserved the bloat. I see what you mean about the foods not having extra water in them since they are dehydrated. I am drinking my water today. Yesterday I ate one mac and cheese and 2 bags of the chips in addition to the shakes, so I think the 2 bags of chips were a bad idea. Well, I put yellow mustard on the pretzels and that is really salty but I was strangely craving salt. Today I am only having one bag of chips, and hopefully that will help along with the water. Thank you again!

Yippeee for the new thread!!!!

I have been eating crappy the past couple of days but finally hit the 160 mark and hope to see the 150's this week!!

I am super excited. My friend and her 13-year old daughter may be coming for Christmas. Her 45-year old husband died of a heart attack this summer and they think a change for the holidays may make this first one easier on them. So, who lives near the Mall of America? That would be me!!!

I'm doing "usability testing" all day yesterday and all day today. I'm feeling saturated and it doesn't help that they have snacks in the room for us! I brought some WS hot chocolate for today and I think that helped so good thing I have another one for this afternoon. We have 2 more sessions left and everyone will want to bail before the last one, using the need to vote as an excuse. Watching 8 people going through this is hard on the old noggin!

Hey Jen,

I had a total of 9 WS items. Everything other than the 2 chips (I count them as "2" of the WS items) - so 5 shakes, 1 hot chocolate and 1 mac and cheese. Today I have dropped 2 lbs already since this morning just using the restroom, and my engagement ring is less tight. I lived and learned for sure! BTW I ABSOLUTELY love the Golden Dijon chips, see I am more of a salty/savory eater than a sweets person...But I must keep them at 1 bag a day. They are a total treat!

Just you wait til you taste those Golden Dijon, girly, you will LOVE LOVE LOVE them - at least I sure DO! Like more than REAL chips which is saying a lot since Chips are my Kryptonite :) I tried a double chocolate cake today and thought for a second I was eating that Molten cake at Chili's...no one can say this food doesn't taste great! Have any of you guys ever seen the Easy Way Show, the Impatient Dieter, on youtube, or on her website? She is totally awesome and super gorgeous and is a WS-er! Her program calls for some regular solid foods in addition to her WS and she just totally rocks!

Looking forward to joining this group. My WS order should arrive today (went with the four week starter pack). As a a busy working mom with two little people, I needed a plan that required little thought or prep. I'm ready to go, so hoping to unpack and get started tomorrow.

Welcome newbies!

Wouldn't you know, just as soon as I post that I hit 160, today I'm back up to 161. My goal for this weekend is do the program 100% and see if I can't move forward and stay moving forward!!

Hi everyone - after reading about the water conversation, have decided to attach some information that I found some time ago and have shared previously. But think there are enough new people to share again, and it also does me good to remind myself about these things:

Water: 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated (likely applies to half the world population); in 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger; even mild dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%; one glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a Univ.of Washington study; lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue; preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers; a mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math & difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page; and drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79% and one is less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Actually, feel that I am one of the lucky ones as I do like real water. However, it needs to be cold for me......so I refrigerate my little bottles, or have it over ice. I have four 17.5 oz. snapple glass bottles that I use and refill daily to get my water. Hope this info. helps :)

I am currently doing Medifast but have started ordering some Wonderslim and Bariwise products as they are cheaper! Has anyone here transitioned over from one to the other? The Wonderslim plan as outlined on the dietsdirect website is a bit confusing and I am not sure what to eat if I go on that totally.

So it says the daily plan is
3 meal replacements
3 protein supplements
1 snack bar
1 lean and green

Then the menu includes fruit which is confusing me because its not on the daily plan.
Also on the menu it says
Breakfast: 1 WonderSlim® Pudding/Shake OR Smoothie
1 WonderSlim® Hot Cakes OR Crunch Cereal OR Hot Oatmeal
1 Optional OR 1 Dairy

Does that mean I have a shake, cereal and something else for breakfast? all of that?

it also says I starch at dinner, where does that fit in?

Right now I am doing right around 1,000 calories, 120g carbs, and 80-110g protein.

Jennifer- I have not forgotten you in regards to my daily food journal. I got bombarded with school, work and events that I have not had time to share those. I do not use fitday, I use my fitness pal so I was trying to figure out the easiest way to share them without having to type them up. Then I realized I have not even posted to my blog like I had planned to.

Anyway, I have been on program Thur, Fri, Sun, Mon, Tue and Today. Saturday night was a halloween party so I had a little extra. Today I decide to step on the scale, still no movement. Ugh.

As a positive, I have to admit that I do feel better. But it is still frustrating. Once the time change is done it will be easier for me to get back in to my exercise routine.

Also wanted to let you guys know I started a thread to share how we prepare our foods:

The Wonderslim Plan allows for a bit more food than the MediFast and New Lifestyle Plan. They tend to be around 800-1080 calories where WS rounds out about 1200.

Wonder Slim (if you are doing all supplements I think someone posted that in the Wonderslim #4 thread)

Breakfast: 1 Pudding, Shake or Smoothie AND
1 Hotcake, Cereal or Oatmeal AND
1 Optional or 1 Dairy (this is syrup for your pancakes or milk for your cereal.

AM Snack: 1 Pudding, Shake or Smoothie AND
1 Fruit

Lunch: 1 Lite Entrée or Soup AND
1 Snack Bar

PM Snack: 1 Pudding, Shake or Smoothie

Dinner: 1 Protein (4oz lean) AND
2 Vegetables (1 cup each, and there is a lot to choose from!)
AND
1 Starch (hello potato!) AND
1 Optional ( you can choose to use or not)

Dessert: 1 Chocolate Cake, Cheesecake, Pudding, Hot Drink or Fruit Drink (program food, of course)

1000-1200 Total Calories

I printed off the Food and Activity Diary to use weekly. Then I printed the Meal Plan and the Food List/Shopping Guide and put those in a plastic page keeper so they would not get all yucky and crinkled from use.

The fruit is allowed as a morning snack with the pudding/shake supplement. A fruit serving for WS is about 60 calories or less. For Breakfast, the easiest way to explain it is you get to pick one thing from EACH of the three rows. I usually do pudding, cereal and milk, or pudding, pancake and sugar free syrup, or pudding, eggs and some fat free cottage cheese. That gives me supplement, protein and the allowed dairy or optional. For dinner you have your lean, your greens. The starch included and it has to be 80 cals or less and their is an optional item with dinner too. These optional items are less than 20 cals.

Hope That Helps!

I was thinking I might work on a cheat sheet. I will post it to my blog and here as well when I am done.

that's awesome! thanks!
I've added in a serving of fruit to my daily 5 meal replacements & 1 lean and green, maybe in my next revision I'll move more towards the WS program, I like the idea of being able to have a slice of bread on occasion ( I even like Ezekiel bread!)

Doing the program without cheating must result in great loss. I eat nearly twice the estimated program calories and use WS as an adjunct (snacks, to make up when I have too much at one meal). I eat roughly 1700-1800 calories (I eat at the number of calories it might take to maintain GOAL weight) and use the hot cakes a lot for breakfast, often with one of the bariwise fruit drinks, I use the bars as desserts, and I use the shakes/puddings as meal replacements or between meal protein snacks.

I lose 1 to 2 lbs a week when I stay around 1800 or fewer calories. I guess I'd lose 3-4 if I followed their plan, but I like actual food and I want to train myself to eat the way I have to to maintain a healthful weight for what's left of my LIFE.

I had Ezekiel bread and eggs and papaya for my last two breakfasts, and for the previous ones this past week, I used WS hotcakes.

I had too much at lunch yesterday, so dinner was a WS vanilla cream shake. Snack was a shake, too.

Tonight, I had half a protein bar for dessert. I sometimes use the entrees as light lunches or light dinners (I especially like the spicy cheese pasta with added veggies cooked on the stovetop with some real cheese on top.)

I just made it past 50 pounds lost, and I credit a lot of breaking my 2+ years stall to WS helping keep me lower carb and fuller and higher protein. It's nice to have serving pouches and ease. And I love, love those hotcakes. :D

Plus having the puddings, shakes, and bars lets me have non-fruit desserts that are pre-portioned, which simplifies life.

But yeah, if you follow the program to the letter, you should have terrific weekly losses--at minimum 2 pounds for those with really slow metabolisms OR those slimmer and closer to their goal weights, to 3+ for others, even 4+ for the bigger folks. I'm okay with losing 1 to 1.5, sometimes 2, cause of my particular reason (eating at goal calorie level.)

From what I've seen from committed Medifast and WonderSlim dieters (no deviations, lower end of options), they lose BIG. But with WS, I think it's nice you can eat REAL food one meal and have some milk and fruit in addition.

Happy dieting this week...

YAY Irish!! That's a wonderful loss!! Keep it up...looks like you're doing your homework (and thanks for posting it here for us to "copy"!!)

I've been "mad" at hubs for the last few days...our son baked cookies Monday night and I had a HALF of a cookie in my hand - yep..you guessed it...blue lights and sirens - the FOOD POLICE said "you NEED to throw that away"..I growled and slung it across the kitchen and stomped off into the other room. He says "we were playing back and forth and I'm not apologizing for something I didn't do"...I say he was playing the food police and if I wanted to eat the WHOLE pan of cookies I can. So I've spoken to him only when necessary since then. If he's not apologizing I'm not forgiving! I know that's VERY petty considering how close our relationship is; he's my BEST friend; but he knows how I feel about people deciding for me what I can eat. And he can say he was playing all he wants - but it hurt my feelings and I think he should apologize for hurting me - whether he meant to or not. It's like rear-ending someone in a car; chances are you didn't mean to do it, but wouldn't you get out and apologize immediately anyways?? Am I wrong in my thinking?? So of course me in my meanness - I took it farther last night. At dinner I sat down at the table with only my drink and said, "well, you want to be my food police so you can fix my plate, give me whatever you think I should eat - if anything. And if you don't think I should eat, then don't give me anything". That made him mad - so he said, "You know you need to eat, and I'm not your food police so you fix your plate." I wouldn't budge. So I went to bed hungry last night. I did ask him around 9ish if he thought I could at least have a shake. He said "you are being rediculous". So I took that as a No. I know it sounds childish to the max - but like I said, I feel like an apology is owed to me. He is usually so loving and patient and quick to make things right when he's done something stupid - but for some reason he thinks it's my fault for him hurting my feelings...UGH...I need a shake...

That's a great loss for 1 week! Congratulations! Don't get discouraged. There is a girl in my office who is having to lose for her diabetes and she didn't lose at all last week and she actually had gained .5 and it really got to her. Try to remember how far you've come! :)

So my official 2 week weigh in was this morning and I have lost 8.2 lbs in the last 2 weeks on Wonderslim. I picked up a 10 lb weight this morning. And realizing that I shed almost that much and that I carried that much more weight around was a little unnerving! LOL

I have been really great with the diet though. I am finding I can subsititute a few things in there and still lose. Like lowfat cottage cheese, high in protein, no carbs (the one I had) and very little fat. Less than 2 grams. And so I don't have to do just the cereal or the dereadful eggs. blech....

And in the last 2 weeks I did fish tacos at Rubious and last night the kids wanted McDonalds after my daughters horse riding lessons and so I only got 2 of the small snack wraps , grilled and no soda, no fries and lost almost a lb yesterday. So my body is letting me throw in a semi-cheat day in there. I did eat a few of the hubby's fries. Oh were they delicious. I love french fries. ha ha ha.

So I am excited to just stick with it. I hadn't started exercising yet because when I do I tend to want to gorge myself and I wanted to give my body time to adjust to this new diet.

Hang in there everyone!!
Erin

Thank you!

I know this is not funny, but I had to give a little giggle. I don't really have any food police around, at least not those telling me what I can't have. But I do have the food pushers and the guilters around. The "oh you can have just one" or the "oh I worked so hard on that" even better, "I made your favorite!" UGH!! If anything I have become the food police in our house. I prepare all the meals on the weekends so I can make sure his daughter gets the proper nutrition she is suppose to have because at her moms they eat fast food ALL the time. And I fix her plate. I also make his plate, but only because I have to make my plate too and he pretty much gets what I don't. He gets to eat a lot of calories because he teaches JuJitsu 2 nights a week for 3-4 hours and MMA training 1-2X a week and he burns through pretty much what he eats. But right now, I am trying to get him to eat cleaner, better for his health.

The only thing I am REALLY bad about is Ramen noodles. OMG he used to eat 2 packages a DAY! So I dont even bring them in the house anymore. He will try once in a while at the store to get my to buy some and once in a blue moon I will buy 1-2 packages. When I make them I add peas or broccoli to them to bulk them up a bit. I hate them anyway, but him and his daughter love them.

Your temper sounds like me. I have a knack for throwing things across my kitchen, too! :)

Ah ha! SEE! I knew if you just stuck to it (especially knowing that you had that hormonal thing happening) that you'd see some terrific results! Way to go Chrystal! Keep up the awesome work! :carrot:

Also, watch the exercise. Depending upon how much you're eating (if you're staying around 1200 or so) you really don't need to do more than a good solid walk every day, and maybe a little light resistance training. It's, honestly more about getting in the habit of getting regular movement every day (especially as this will become essential in maintenance) than it is about killing yourself. In fact, I find I lose much better/more consistently when I keep the exercise to a minimum. Oddly, this is something my doc has noticed regularly in her practice.

-Jen

I did have a cheat night, and a night I ate out the first week and I tried to stay within the plan as best as I could. I am still learning and making those changes and getting used to ordering things differently when I go out to eat.

I don't like exercise to be honest with you. I am not a gym person. I do love my treadmill though and walking outside with the dogs when the weather is nice. That is me time. When I am on the treadmill I can read a magazine, a book or my Nook and just be free from reality for a little while. I also love the Walk Away the Pounds videos and have quite a few of those. I used to do Yoga all the time to help with stretching and stress. I would like to get back in to that as well. So maybe 15-30min on the treadmill, 10-20 yoga.

I do have that flabby skin on my upper arms and the upper part of my legs. I have a weight machine that I am going to start doing a few reps on that to help tighten my skin back up a bit.

Really, I just want to be healthy overall. And these are the best things for me to do since I know I wont stick to a workout regimen anyway. LOL

I even found some bars I liked! I like the butter toffee and the caramel brownie. As much as I love peanut butter it seems those are the ones that are super dry and hard to choke down.

My husband was doing the "just try it" and "mmmmm" when we would drive past some place that is delicious and totally unhealthy! LOL I told him if he did it again, he was sleeping on the couch. :) He hasn't done it since he has been SO supportive thankfully. He actually has lost a few lbs too! Just by changing our dinners around and my not bringing all of the regular snacks into the house.

Erin

Erin that is great!!!

I remember when I was in weight watchers and we would lose the first 5lbs, our leader would give us a bag of sugar to show us that is what we lost. It was a real eye opener.

This plan has been the easiest I have ever been on and its nice to not have to count points. Even the calorie count is minimal since 90% is already planned for you. I am reading the labels, making notes for when I go in to maintenance.

I have some little snack size (4oz) cottage cheese packs that I found and they are great as the dairy option.

Before I started WS and was just logging calories, when I went out for Mexican, say taco bell, I would order everything fresco style. No cheese, extra vegi and salsa. I do that when I go to a sit down Mexican. Hold the cheese or just use half depending on what I had that day. I get everything on the side. If I want chips, I break them up in to smaller pieces before digging in to the salsa, and I count them out before hand. I check calories on most things before I go out to eat, now I have most of them memorized and know what to pick at certain places. My weakness is avocados/guacamole. So I make sure to plan, plan, plan ahead! At home I make it fresh myself so I know exactly whats in it. I know some places mix it with sour cream.

After church we like to take his daughter to McD's because they have a playland. Most of the other church kids go so she can play with them a bit longer. I usually get a side salad, ff dressing and water or diet pop. Some days I have a fruit and yogurt parfait, but hold the granola. A regular hamburger can be part of a diet so long as its the small one and no cheese. I have even go so far as eating it with no bun, or taking the bottom half of the bun off and folding it in half. Once in a while I have a small fry. The fruit and walnut salad is a good option and very filling/yummy as well.

Wendy's is my favorite because you can get a plain baked potato and chili for minimal calories and its filling.

When I go to Subway I have them scoop out the extra bread and fill it full of vegetables.

Coffee shops used to bother me but I have learned over the years they all will cater to what you want. Tim Horton's is the only one I really have a problem with because they do not have skim milk, only 2%. So I tell them to put the milk in first, a splash. Should only fill not even an inch of the bottom of my cup. Splenda and we are good to go. Their coffee is pretty good so I don't mind it with no flavor. And then I have 1 donut hole. It is my treat. I have looked at their nutritional guides, they do have healthy option items. With Starbucks I order everything non fat milk no whip. And small. At my local coffee shop, which I LOVE, they have all the regular syrups in a sugar free version so the only calories my coffee has is from the little bit of milk. And the owner is awesome. We measure my milk once (1/4c) so I know exactly where to tell his workers to pour the milk to in the cups. LOL. Its a rare treat I go out and pay for coffee, so when I do, I want it to be worth it! Coffee at home is 8 O'clock brand Hazelnut whole beans. I grin the beans myself. No milk. Just splenda and 1tbsp pf fat free hazelnut cream. Its yummy.

So, over the years I have taken the time to stick to many of the changes I made while I was on weight watchers. I just slacked on it for a couple of years and within the last year started to really make those swaps again.

You can eat anywhere you want. The trick is to plan ahead, plan your other meals around it, try to find the nutritional value before you go, ask for things on the side, skip creams and butters, ask for extra vegetables, and so on. I have learned every place with do what you want, if you just ask!

I've got my bag of meals packed for the day. It's official - 20 lbs to lose. I had one heck of a migraine yesterday that seems to thankfully be gone today. Would have made for an extra tough start. Here we go!

I have been suffering from migraines since I was 9 yrs old. They suck! This time of year is always bad for me. With the time change close, all the darkness and the sudden drop in temps, it always seems to trigger me. I have woken up with a terrible headache the last 5 days and I know if I don't medicate, it will turn into a full blown migraine and that literally takes me out of commission for a whole day. So I have been drinking this new 50cal OJ mixed with water for some extra Vit C (i make that 1 serving last me all day) and green tea to keep myself from feeling like I have the funk.

I am very afraid to go anywhere to eat because I don't want to gain the weight back! LOL
But I am easing up as I realize that things like fish tacos with only salsa and cabbage are not BAD. I could make the same thing at home for my lean and green and add more veggies and there you go. So I am trying not to be too rigid I don't want to end up with OCD on the eating.

I am having the Wonderslim Chili. Just got it today and Yum! I threw in a tiny amt of shredded Kraft fat free cheese and non fat sour cream and it's delicious! Thing is with these small portions there is no need for a lot of anything like cheese because it would be too much. So literally a tsp or so and that's it.

But this is really good. I am going to try the Sloppy Joe tomorrow.

So far I like most everything on the WS diet. Not crazy about the spicy mac and cheese, cooks weird. And I can't stand the eggs I am just too lazy to send them back so i eat them about 1 time /week. Blech.

The rest has been really good. The steak and cheese mac is yummy too with a dash of hot sauce. :)

I enjoy eating out and its a part of my life. Not a lot mind you, but we do host dinner parties, and we rotate between houses of the other couples. We also have a girls night and that is either dinner here or out. Tonight it happens to be out and a movie. So I have to reteach myself what to eat and train myself to not be shy in front of the waiter/waitress.

I really enjoyed the chili and I actually had the sloppy joe today. I had some pepridge farm very thin wheat sliced bread. Very thin and very small. 2pc is about 70cals so I toasted those, used some I can't believe its not butter spray and put the joe mix on the bread. It was yummy. I had that for lunch.

I really like the mac and cheese but doubt I will order it again since its only 3 per box like the alfredo. Yummy, but I have found a frozen meal cheaper and pretty close to the same nutritional values so I wont be spending $9.99 for 3 packs on these two.

I do like the spicy cheese mac and the cheese steak. I have not added anything to either of these. I read a few recipes on the DD website, but I like them as-is.

I found the trick with the eggs is to not cook them in the microwave and add a little bit of extra water and some pepper. I even cooked some mushrooms and green peppers with them. I cook them slow in a PAM coated pan and stir consistently and found they cook up much better that way. WS says you can substitute egg beaters or egg whites. I might start doing that, I was doing egg whites before WS anyway. I can get eggs fairly cheap and often free from friends who have chickens.

I think the portions are great since I am retraining myself to get back in the vegi mode.

I am glad I made this choice and was even talking to my fiancé tonight about ordering another 4wks or 12wks as I will have some extra college money after tuition is paid and I think that would be a nice investment for myself. I have quite a bit of food here still, but I DO need more of the cream pudding/shake supplement. I was confused about what to order and did not order enough of that.

Hey, all. I've been missing notifications on this new thread, and I've been busier than a one-armed wallpaper hanger!

I've got an example of "Be careful what you wish for." I was wishing for a project for this weekend so I would keep busy and not binge. Well, my sis-in-law and her family are coming for Thanksgiving and they're planning on staying at our house (they thought maybe they'd use miles and stay at a hotel). So... that means I need to clear out the rooms and do a clean. Also, we're refinancing our house (@ 4% interest!!!!) and an appraiser will be coming through, so a clean/organize is needed anyway.

I am .2 pounds away from the 150's. Is this a deja vu for anyone?? I seem to have gone down this road before. But, I was able to use the 2nd clasp in on my formerly slightly too tight bra. My waist size is still pretty much the same!

I ate mashed potatoes for dinner!

Betty Crocker Cheddar and Sour cream, their packets come with only 2 servings, so I made that along with turkey meatloaf and asparagus for my husband and I. I couldn't even finish my mashed potatoes though!

2 months ago me not finishing mashed potatoes would have been crazy!

Hi All You Big Losers!
Hey Kristi - That whole scene - while kinda funny from the outside looking in - was what my mother would have called "cutting off your nose to spite your face!":^: The 'food pushers' and the 'food police' am sure all mean well.....but depending on my mood at the time, I can either blow it off or react. I've done both (as you could tell from my mom's old comment)... Am sure the two of you will be back to being best buds again soon if not already

Erin & Irish - Great jobs on your weight losses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree about the ICKY eggs! Then got to thinking about it and why not just eat real eggs anyway?!
Yay!! GMeg - still losing.......you need to adjust your ticker to reflect it too!!

 to everyone else.......hope you all have a good evening!

Irish and Erin - congrats on the weight loss! I am so happy to have found such an active support group.

Yesterday was my first day on plan, and WS made things so easy. I had a chocolate cream (yum), berry yogurt (okay) and vanilla cream shake (okay+). My entree was the spicy cheese and pasta, and honestly, had to choke it down. Was glad to follow it with the chocolate peanut butter snack bar. And dessert was the cheesecake. It could have used some coolwhip, but generally pretty tasty.

Can someone point me in the direction of the weight tickers? Would love to get one started! Down two pounds from yesterday, but it's that early, easy water loss.

Thanks for all the support!

I got the WS pancakes yesterday and I made them on my griddle and put sliced banana on them. And this is THE first thing WS that I have eaten that tastes like normal food. They are SO delicious. If there is an after taste, I am not tasting it at all. At least not with the banana on top. VERY tasty! made three really decent size pancakes. I will for sure be ordering these again.
I did go up yesterday :( Bummer. I was 213.6 but this morning back up to 214. Oh well...I am doing the Light the Night Walk tonight so maybe I will burn off some extra :dizzy:

The weight tickers are easy to locate and actually I have found if I click on some of them that it takes me to the site where you can grab the code and build one. But you have to be a memeber for x amt of days before you can put one on. I found that out last week because I am new. So I think there is a waiting period before it allows you to add one. Once you can, you go to User CP at the top of the page and it should have a link for you to add to your signature.

:cloud9: Yall will be glad to know that hubs and I are good now. Yesterday we talked. I said, "look, you say you won't apologize for something you didn't do; I say you hurt my feelings - how would you know if you did or not if you're not me?"...he said, "Ok, I am sorry that I hurt your feelings, but I was NOT being the food police". I told him, thank you, that's all I needed to hear! That he was sorry for hurting my feelings...then he added, "I wish you'd get over the super-sensitivity to food comments"...I told him, "ME TOO!! I wish I could just turn that off, but having had food issues my entire life, it's really hard to get past that!"...it totally sounds like a crutch and I pledge to work on not being so uber-sensitive!! Thanks for the advise girlies... ;) glad I could give yall a chuckle! It really was rediculous, the whole situation..but alas...isn't it the most rediculous stuff that really gets our gourd anyways???

Anyways, my official Friday weigh in 232.5!!! YAY!! That's 46.5 total pounds lost! WOOOHOOO!! I totally agree with Jen (I think it was) who mentioned movement...when I move - on purpose (walking, riding bike etc) I can see the pounds and inches just melt right off. I SO have got to get back to my lunchtime walks!

We'll be entertaining my in-laws tomorrow evening. I'm fixin Chili (frito chili pie), golfers cheese sandwiches and pumpkin pie for dessert...Not to mention that my movement tomorrow will be a thorough house cleaning! I can totally relate to ya Meg...

Hey, any of yall heard about the "It Works" products? We had a lady talk to us at our Project Grad meeting last night about doing a fundraiser w/ her. It's a wrap to loose inches...the officers are gonna give it a whirl just to see if it really does work..so I'm hoping I'll be able to get into the new jeans I bought that like about 2 inches to button...

Not my official weigh in day...but did see a 187 on the scale this morning. Thank goodness TOM is outta town for a while. Hopefully I can keep it gone for three months, that'll take me into the new year. My goal is 175 by 1/1/11. That's right around 1.5 lbs a week. I'm thinking that's doable as long as I don't binge over the holidays! Ugh!!

I've been doing a Zumba class at the gym...I LOVE it! I'm putting Zumba DVD's on my Christmas Wish List :)

Our local civic center is doing a zumba class soon....I just don't think I'm coordinated enough to do that...I'll need to watch some videos to see if I think I can do it or not!

Esilva - the food is yummy! I usually tweak it a bit - ff sour cream or ff cheese or lf crackers or something - but generally it's very satisfying! Thank goodness - how horrible would it be to have to eat crappy tasting stuff!

Yall - I ain' lyin'...it was just sleeting here in Middle TN! It's sooo cold outside and the wind will flat cut you in two....bbbbrrrr

Meg - 4 pounds is 4 pounds...GONE not added!!! YAY!!!

It has been a while girls...I have mostly stayed on track as far as not gaining anything back. However I have not lost anything in a couple of months I just ordered more wonderslim and I am back on track. I have altered my plan a little I now mix one of my meal replacements with trader joes protien powder and I use the Power crisp bars... I have been eating some carbs i.e. bread and sugar. haha! I was not staying under 1200 cals either. I have been doing an exam prep course for the PHR exam and it will be on Dec. 11th then my life should be back to normal. My goal starting today is to stick with the plan of 1200 cals a day over 80 grms of protein and under 100 grams of carbs. It seems to help me if I post me numbers each day. So look forward to the posts ladies! I am glad to see some old faces and new ones as well.

Welcome, Downerbeautiful! I'm just on day 3 of this diet, but so far it's been pretty easy to follow. I've made sure to get eat all the items on the list each day, and haven't been hungry. Let us know how you're doing!

I had a pretty good day 2. We are so busy at work, and pulling out a shake or bar makes life much easier. Even managed to stay out of the goodies at a group meeting. My only issue yesterday - I managed to leave the bar to go with my soup at home. I substitued a "Thin" bar from my desk. Lesson learned. I need to make sure there are some extra shakes and bars available in my desk.

Yesterday was strawberry shake (liked it alot) with an apple, chocolate cream shake (a favorite) with oatmeal (surprisingly good) and a splash of milk, chicken noodle soup (mixed in some peas and it was pretty tasty) and the before mentioned Thin bar, and a vanilla shake (it's growing on me). I had a grilled chicken breast, small serving of squash and cauliflower/broccoli for dinner. Oh - and a chocomint pudding for dessert (not a favorite - maybe it will be better as a shake). And I lost two more pounds yesterday, making four pounds in two days. It's a great start.

Fingers crossed for the weekend. We're always super busy with kids activities, but plan to just take a shake and bar along in the car.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Suzi

Everyone must be having busy weekends! Gotta love the time change. I was up and ready to go at 4:30 this morning.

Had a pretty good day yesterday. Stayed on plan. Had a few times when I went a little too long without food and got very hungry. But I managed to stay away from off-plan food, and got all the WS items in for the day. The toughest was a trip to Jimmy John's with the kids. The smell of that bread was enough to put me over the edge. But I had just had a shake, and had some diet coke as a treat and managed to stay on track.

And I made a really good chicken curry in the crockpot for my lean and green meal. It was basically chicken, one peeled potato (my starch), tomatoes and lots of spices. Very tasty, very easy and had to be low in calories.

Off for a run. And lots of yard work planned for today. It's going to be an active one!

SuziC - I'm happy for the time change. While I wasn't up early like you, I was still going before noon. Yea! Thanks for the words of encouragement, too. Day one went well, and today should be good, also. I tried one of those hard milk chocolate candy bars - phenom!! I have something I can really look forward to on this diet.

I understand the JJ temptation. Their vege-sammitch is worth 800-900 calories. It's hardly ever worth it, but they smell so good!

11-08-2010, 06:27 AM
Hi Downer - those bars are my favorites! And it's great that they are so portable. Really hand for when you are out and about, hungry, and without easy access to a shake. And I can't believe the calories in those JJ sandwiches! I never knew...

Didn't mention, and guessing this may be common. I had a chronic headache for about 3 days after starting the plan. Different from my normal TOM migraines, and the edge was easily taken off with some Tylenol. It's now passed, and I feel like I have a ton of energy. Must have been some sugar detox? Just thought I'd pass this along to the other newbies. I was wondering if that headache was ever going to leave me!

Had a good day yesterday. Took the kids (7 and 3) to the mall, which they love, but is honestly a bit of a nightmare. They love McNuggets but only get them as the very rare treat at the mall. And that was an easy one to pass on! I brought my shake and a bar and was perfectly content.

It's going to be a super crazy week at work. Getting my meal packages in line for the week (putting a whole day's worth in a bag), it should make for a smoother morning.

Happy Monday all!

I had been dealing with nasty headaches for the last 7 mornings. I was thinking it was lack of sleep, the time change, allergies or SOMETHING. After trying to ward it off for so long, yesterday I was finally hit with the full blown migraine that left me in bed all day. No light, no noise, no food and plenty of ice packs.

Today I have what I call the migraine hang over. My body is stiff and I feel groggy. We had a party Saturday night for all of our friends and the kids. So I did not stay on program for that. Sunday was not on program either, so I am pretty much getting back on track today. I am not looking for a loss this week, but I am happy that it is so easy for me to get right back on track.

Anyway, I was getting my vitamins and noticed that for the ENTIRE last week I had forgotten to pack my anti-depressant in the weekly vitamin pack container I have so I can take all my meds first thing in the AM. So NOW I am wondering if I was going through withdraws and thats why I was having such a headache/wanna be migraine. Ugh. I hate them, I can remember being 9 and having them. Sucks.

So, here I am. I had planned to get walking on the treadmill again, but I am not very motivated and have a ton of work and homework to get caught back up on.

I will check in on you guys later. Gotta get that homework done before I miss my due time.

Regarding Fat-
No, not the kind we are trying to get rid of, the kind we eat. :)
How much (grams) should we be eating per day?

I am eating right around 1,000 calories per day and my fat grams tend to be between 25 & 35 grams.

Not to be too TMI but when I go towards the low end of that or under, things slow down in the BM area and I get VERY uncomfortable.

I had my gallbladder out in 2004, so I don't have to worry about that part of things, but the lack of it does make my body process fats differently.

Just curious what you all think

Jen,

I admit I am right there with you, I was afraid the WS products were making me retain fluid, so I started eating regular food and went on a vacation this weekend and ate and drank alcohol...Needless to say I am up to 175 of water weight from my low of 170. I am so hungry again today and I have already eaten off plan but TOMORROW MORNING, I am back on plan 100% committed. I determined the WS was not making me retain, because when I was eating, I was still retaining. My fingers just got fatter cause I was 158 when I got the engagement ring sized (I wear a size 6 ring)....

The weekends seem so much harder for me. And mainly because we are running around. I gained 1 lb back this weekend from a baby shower and running around with my daughter shopping. We split a medium fries which I didn't need. Then at the shower I had some cake. Thankfully I only ate a small amt and tossed the rest. But it's hard when the food is just not there to eat. Yesterday I had access to turkey so that was ok. And my Mom is on WW so she always cooks amazing and healthy meals so that was easy. But the baby shower did me in. I am back down to my 2 week weigh in weight this morning though. So I have 3 more days to see what I can take off this week. Ugh.

I was planning on eating Thanksgiving during one whole day...like not the day before or the day after, just THAT day. And that will be HARD enough for me because I love the leftovers for a week :( But my wedding is Dec. 4, so the next week. I just need to get my weight low enough to enjoy one day of Thanksgiving and I am eating whatever I want on my honeymoon, but I will be hiking all day...Then when I return from the honeymoon, back on WS until goal....

So, I am curious - how is everyone planning ahead/going to handle Thanksgiving???

I was planning on using my lean and green for my turkey dinner and packing my program food if I was going to be at my fiancé's family for any length of time. I plan to stay away from the bread (even though its my homemade!) and butter, bringing a vegi tray (they love that anyway) and their will be salad so I will bring my own dressing. I can handle a slice of white meat, a spoonful of stuffing, some green beans and 1/2c of mashed potato. I think I will bring my own potato because I know his step mom uses whole milk and smart balance butter. She will keep green beans separate for me like she did last year. I will allow myself one small sliver of pumpkin pie so I wont be having on plan dessert. I was actually thinking about making a wonderslim vanilla pudding/shake with some pumpkin pie spice instead. I just want to plan ahead and try to stay on program as best as possible.

I've never been one gorge myself on Thanksgiving, but those cressent rolls are my down fall! I will be cooking this year. And so far the menu isn't too crazy.

I am finally back on track. I just had a McD's salad for dinner (w/ fat free dressing) and it was dang tasty.

Of course I was naughty this past weekend while DH was gone. But I was only up 1 pound this AM. He made noises about going hunting again this weekend and I don't want him to. I need him around to keep myself on track! (I like to eat in secret).

I really NEED to stay OP for turkey day or I'll never reach my goal of 175 by the 1st of the year. I keep wavering between staying as OP as possible or just gorging myself for a day and call it good. Here's how my brain works. If I gorge myself, then I'll feel totally satisfied as in I didn't miss out on anything....then I'll feel totally guilty for having done so...then I'll get right back on plan. Luckily dinner is NOT at my house so I won't have left overs. If I don't gorge myself and stay OP, then I'll feel good about my decisions, but then I'll feel like I missed out on Thanksgiving dinner and make up some excuse to eat in secret.....then feel guilty about that...and be OP....so ugh! What in the world do I do? bleh!

Thanksgiving will count as my once every 4-6 weeks pig out :)

I was off plan for a week (week before last), today was weigh in and I lost all the weight I gained plus another pound! and that was for 8 days off plan BIG TIME.

Hey All! Good to see our old PChop peeking in and checking back with us (11/5)

Kristi - Haven't heard from ya since the big dinner...it sure sounded yummy.
46.5# Girl!!! You are sooooo close to the big 50! Am sure you can almost taste it!

Jyoyo - Zumba sounds so much like something you would like and be good at too! Glad you found a new thing to help you toward your new goal. I am also liking the idea of a goal and have been kicking the idea around in my head. A 5% goal for me would be 9.5 lbs. - but 10 lbs would take me to a dream weight of 179! Wow, that would really be great.

Irish - thanks for giving us heads up on thoughts to share for Thanksgiving coming.

Jen - I sure can identify with the struggle you have been having......but glad to hear you are getting back on track with the liquid supplements only........ Does that include soups, or just shakes all day? Then, by detoxing for a week, didn't you say you just do the WS products only (entrees, etc.) and no lean/green?

Anyway, this food addiction we all seem to share really is a struggle and I don't believe I will ever be able to eat the way I used to ever again. Of course, I do not want to be back at that beginning weight and uncomfortable again either. Am beginning to feel fat again since plateauing and hopefully that will serve as incentive to stay OP too. Along with the idea of the 5% goal by the first of the year.

One thing about this.......we here are all in the same boat and it really helps to know that and have a place to come to in order to share our feelings.....ups and downs.

A personal trainer once reminded me that Thanksgiving is not a week or a weekend or a day. It's a meal. My plan is to exercise in the morning, eat on plan during the day. Thanksgiving dinner will be my lean and green. I'm not planning to go crazy, but will enjoy my husband's famous stuffing. And I'm going to order one piece of pecan pie for dessert. Thankfully, the rest of my family loves Baker's Square French Silk - and I just don't care for it. So if that remains in the house, it will be easy to stay clear. And after the meal, it's back to plan.

And a question - does anyone else have a long stretch between the noon meal and dinner? On some nights, I work late and don't eat dinner until 6:30 or 7. One shake between lunch and 6:30 or 7 is killing me (I'm chew my arm off hungry). Should I throw an extra shake in there? I didn't order any of the chips/pretzels, but wondering if a bag of those might help to hold me over? The weight is coming off at a nice clip, and hate to do anything that might interfere. But I also think that long wait for dinner is leading me to overeat my lean and green. Hoping for some suggestions!

Have a great day all. And Waterwoman - couldn't agree more. The support here is fantastic!

Hi all!! Yep, been busy like nuts around here lately...

Chop - good to see you again...btw...you callin' me old??? :D jk...Good luck with your exam and welcome back to the club!

Downer - welcome! Good to see you and best of luck as you embark on this wonderful weight loss journey!

Suzi - Good job on your loss so far and for planning ahead with having extra stuff readily available - that will help you more than you can imagine! I use to pack my daily food into a Gallon size zip loc bag. I labled them one for each day - that way I could keep up with what I had eaten and what I still had left. I just randomly made the choices on Sunday evening and would bring Mon - Fri to work w/ me. BUT now - since I'm still in my office alone I keep LOTS of boxes here (more storage here than at home) and I seem to be more on a schedule now - so I pretty much know if I've eaten all I'm suppose to or not..but yeah - the zip locs sure helped me out at first!

Jen - No doubt - not giving in to the off plan stuff is WAY better than the YUK you feel for days afterwards!! I liked your analogy on addicts..and you are SO right. Abstenance is the best way to rid yourself of addictions - however, we can't exactly do that with food - so it's best that we just retrain ourselves to do it right!

Keziah - My doctor told me Metamucil EVERYDAY..and I do it too! It's amazing how much better, more comfortable and easier ridding of waste is (is that a nice way to say poopin or what!!)...I like the Berry kind the best and always get the sugar free! It's not bad at all - a quick stir and down the hatch - it's not something you want to sip on and savor!!

Gotta get goin ladies, it's finally time to head home!! I'm SO HATIN' this new time...it's already DARK!!! UGH!!!

Kristi - I hear you on this time change! I picked my boy up from daycare last night, and it was DARK. I already miss the summer nights of playing with the kids at the park after work.

Thanks to the many who recommended adding something to the afternoon snack. I had a bag of the WS pretzels with my shake in the afternoon, and it did a much better job of holding me over until dinner. Now, the pretzels tasted a little like sawdust, but that's a story for another post. Going to order some additional bags of chips on Friday (payday:-)).

And peas are have been a huge help with the entrees. I love peas, and adding a spoonful into the soups - or even the spicy pasta and cheese - give them some freshness and extra flavor. Yummm!

Have a great day!

Hi everyone,
Just got my box of WS this evening.
Had the first shake, the taste reminds me of slim fast, which I liked a lot. I just could never have just a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch and then a "sensible" dinner :)
This program has a lot more shakes, structure, and protein than the old slim fast program, so I am excited to get started. All of your posts (500 plus!) convinced me to give it a try.
My biggest downfall is lack of accountability, so my goal will be to post an update once a week, and to respond a couple times a week to other people's posts.
I hadn't thought at all about Thanksgiving, so you have already given my some ideas of what different peple are doing; I like the idea of making sure I fit in exercise, eat on plan, and use my extras during the actual meal.

Welcome, Sydney! Let us know how yesterday went for you.

And talking about accountability. Ugh. I broke down and had a burrito last night. No cheese, no sour cream and lots of lettuce and veggies. But way too much food and certainly not the "goal" lean and green meal. I was in back-to back meetings yesterday and missed the afternoon snack. I also needed to work late. So I went for a quick dinner run before heading back to the office thinking I'd just get a Chipotle burrito bowl - lettuce, veggies, some lean meat. Somehow I walked out with a giant burrito and ate the entire thing. And yes, gained a pound yesterday.

Still down 5 pounds for the week since starting. Trying to stay positive. I'm heading to the office early today, and should be out at a reasonable time to have a reasonable dinner. Just really frustrated with myself for ending such a good first week on a bad note. Sigh....

I had really hoped that DietDirect would be having a Vet.'s day sale today but so far no emails. I will pop over to their site to be sure. I need to stock up on a few things.

Hi all! Wanted to tell you all that I went to see a Relexologist/Homeopathy lady yesterday. It was pretty neat - a little...oh Ok...a LOT scarey! I went because I get boils ALL THE TIME...they are BIG hard, red hot cysts and sometimes they will drain, other times not. They come up in the darndest places too...anyways...sorry to give yall all that info - She was actually more concerned with my lung capacity - kidney/spleen function - gallbladder and pancreas. Of course I have no idea of anything that is/could be wrong with that stuff. Evidently my boil issue will work itself out when I get all these other things under control. She gave me some stuff to take, but because of the possible side effects I haven't done one of the tablets yet (am going out of town tonight and didn't know what to expect with it). She recommended the Eat Right for Your Type diet - was totally against Wonderslim for me - because of the Soy in it. A type 0 blood should stay away from Soy according to that book...I'm doing sooo good on this plan though...I will probably finish my 12 week kit I'm in now and then may evaluate the "type diet" and see how that works for me for a few weeks...I'm scared though...anyone else been to one of these people?? Heard anything about them???

Kirstikins- My sister did the same thing and loves it. She found what works for her blood type and it really helped her with skin conditions. She kept breaking out with like teenage acne and hives oddly. My sister does Racke (sp?) and is very into Hollistic healing etc and sees a Homeopath. She is on Medifast now but has had great success with the Eat Right for Your Type diet. Her problem was sticking to it and portion sizes she wasn't watching like she is now with Medifast. And she hates the Medifast food so the fact that she mainly does shakes and bars helps her keep the weight off too.

Goddessmeg- CONGRATS!!!! YAY!!!! :)

I have a question ladies, I didn't order the premade WS kit because I knew it would come with items I didn't like and I don't do desserts and such. Anyway, apparently when you do the 4, 8, 12 week kit they send you a book that also has diet tips, etc...does anyone have that? And is there maintenance information somewhere for transitioning from WS to regular foods once you hit your goal weight??

SydneyM97
11-11-2010, 04:39 PM
Kirstikins- You can reduce your soy protein intake on WS, although it does drastically reduce your choices. In general the shakes/puddings are soy protein free, as are the cheesecake, most- maybe all? of the puddings, the oatmeal, and the mac and cheese and alfredo pasta. But only one bar is soy free (cinnamon raisin, but there are a few bars with limited soy in them: chocmint, choc, and choc peanut butter). The strawberry yog smoothie is soy free, the berry one has a little soy.

Please note: I am not considering soy lecthium in my definition of soy, because that is in everything nowadays, I am just trying to limit my intake of isolated soy protein.

Mostly isolated soy protein: cereal, pretzels, crisp bars, most entrees (veggie sloopy joe, etc.)

Hope this helps!

Hi Esilva - I ordered the 4 week kit and have the weight management binder. It has a nice chapter on weight maintenance and a few other things. I haven't used it much, but it seems like a good reference tool.

Esliva - good to know that your sister is into Homeopathy too - and hasn't died from it :D I did the "remedy" last night and so far nothing crazy's going on..so maybe I'm safe :?: ...I can totally see portion control being a bad thing to grab hold of - if not doing WS or a "diet" such as that. I did notice on the BTD site that doc guy has a protein powder specifically for each blood type...and they have bars too - that are safe for any blood type...I may try that too - so I can still keep on some sort of shake/bar plan...
As for the book...I have an extra (as I've ordered from DD several times)...you wanna PM me your addy and I'll send it to ya?? Or you can call DD and ask them to send it to you - they can email or mail it...they're usually very helpful and accomodating!

Syd - I have noticed that WS has LOTS less soy than say MF and other plans - but the soy lecthin is bad too...it's actually the grossest part of the soy that's left over (kinda reminds me of bologna - you know..it gets the leftover parts)...ick...

Mirtika - what's the brand of that protein powder you use?? what's its base??

WOOHOOO it's FRIDAY!!!! My son is job shaddowing today at the electric company...can't wait to hear what he thinks of it!

I really need to break my daily scale habit. Down 17lbs on Wednesday, now only down 15.8 today :(

I need to find where I can get some smooth move tea, the stool softeners and daily fiber are not working for me, must be my irritable bowel rearing its ugly head again.

For those of you following WS or a similar meal replacement plan, what are your average daily calories and how much exercise per week do you do?

Grocery stores should have the Smooth Move tea. Unless you've had the chocolate flavor before, or unless you really like anise root, I do not recommend that variety of Smooth Move. Try the other one they make. It's strange - I love Jagermeister and Nyquil, but I hate anything else anise/anisette flavored.

I do not follow the exact WS/Bariwise/ProtiDiet, but I do use their products. I consume about 600-950 calories a day and exercise every other day or so for about one to two hours. I'm uncertain whether or not it makes a difference if I consume that few or work out that much. I'm down about 4 pounds this week, but it's only week one.

Good Weight Loss!!!

Well, this week I had no loss. So my stats thus far is 5lbs in 3 weeks. Which, for me, is good.

Monday I plan to start back on the treadmill, my body has sure missed it and I just feel better overall when I get on it. I like to read while walking and I have not been because I have been recovering from a shoulder injury. So my pile of magazine has piled up. LOL

If I can get around the 5yr old (his, not mine) in the morning, I will get on it, but most of the time she follows me down to the basement exercise center (LOL, what can I say, she loves me) and she wants to "see how I am doing" then she will go upstairs to report to her dad that I am either walking or running (at the time I was doing a couch to 25k program) and then she comes back downstairs and wants to talk.

I tend to use the treadmill as some peaceful me time and I don't want to hurt her feelings, so I don't usually do it on the weekends.

Anyway, I was not excepting a loss this week. Last weekend we had a huge party and I drank and ate and drank and ate some more. I also had a couple of meals that we a little more than what they should have, the binge monster reared its ugly head. BOO

On a good note, UPS delivered another box of food to me. :) So I spent some time sorting and repacking so it would be easy for me to pick and choose, all the extra boxes went down in the basement. This should carry me well past all the holidays and perhaps in to next year. I figured I would make use of the coupons and do it now before the holiday busy season got the best of me.

For now, I will just keep pushing forward.

I stick to 1000-1200 calories. Any less and I get dizzy spells.
Since I started WS I have not exercised.

Before starting WS I was averaging abot 1600 cals a day, and I would exercise (run, walk) on the treadmill for 15min to an hour depending on the day/mood.

It is my second day on Wonderslim, I am following the plan they list on the website, so my daily calories should always be between 1050 and 1250.

This is the first high protein diet I have ever been on (as a vegetarian with limited soy tolerance), but I have to admit my hunger is better controlled on this than on Nutrisytem, even though the calories are about even.
I am not doing any exercise right now (except walking the dog and company errands within a few blocks). I am not good about making too many changes at once so I am figuring my diet out first and will worry about exercise in a few weeks when I know more about what I am doing.

Props to WS though, today was crazy, very little time to eat, but time enough to mix up shakes and drink them in 15 seconds and then on to the next task. Never distracted by hunger the whole day.

I too noticed the low fiber intake though (usually I eat a TON of fiber, 40-50grams a day). So I added three servings of benefiber per day for an extra 12 g on this plan, we'll see how that works. It really did have almost no taste at all in plain water.

So far, so good on the taste of the food/shakes. I am posting my reviews on another thread.

It's great to hear everyone's progress on this forum, thanks!

Sydney - sounds like it's going well for you! Those shakes really do make things convenient.

Irish - isn't it fun to get those boxes?

I seem to be a bit weight stuck. Also probably need to get away from the daily weigh-in. Just getting ready to go for a run. I need to start the regular exercise program again.

In terms of calories, I'm following the regular WS program, so guessing around 1200. Exercise has been sporadic - but that's changing starting today:-).

Hey Ladies, happy weekend, 3 weeks from today I will be dressing in my wedding dress! I am loving my WS right now, invented a new breakfast that made me feel like a decadent dessert eater..I take the berry chocolate cereal, add 4 oz of unsweetened almond milk (i am lactose intolerant), plus a mocha cream shake packet and a little water to thin it! This tasted GRAND. I was thinking creatively about my meal, and I realized I can have 2 pieces of diet bread, some fresh lettuce, tomato slices and delicious 4 oz of lean turkey, which is my favorite sandwich! I will add a little mustard as well but I am looking forward to this for the week. Tonight the fiancee and I are eating dinner out with friends, at an Italian place. Read the menu online and want to order a grilled chicken Caesar with no croutons and the dressing on the side..this is as close to a lean and green as i can get...and I will order water with lemon.

We're homebound today as we've had at least 8 inches of wet, heavy snow. DH is re-caulking the tub today. He's scraped out the old stuff and will start to add the new stuff. The tile grout keeps bleeding through and pissing him off. Once he's done with that, he'll get to tackle the driveway. And me, I've been doing laundry. Sometimes the jobs do even out!!

I "peeled" 2 pommegranites today so we've been snacking on the seeds. Yum! I tried the Jillian Michael's whey protein in a shake and YUCK!!!! I guess I'll continue on as a DD purchaser!!

Ahh, I'm so happy for you (which just intensifies my self-disappointment). Your morning food sounds delicious, and I am jealous, lucky girl.

I know it doesn't sound as delish~ as dressing, but I order my salads dry with extra tomato. I use the tomato juices as a lubricant for the salad in place of dressing, so it's healthier. Maybe it's worth a try for your dinner tonight. ???

Yesterday, for me, was super bad. I was more than off-plan. I'm just not going to talk about it. BUT, you know how sometimes you order a box, and it turns out to be a total MISS? Oye, I have two boxes of those, plus a couple protein bars. That makes today DAY 2 (of six) of "Cho'kem Down Day." Since I was so off-plan yesterday, it makes these bad meals I have to eat seem like a punishment. A five more day punishment.

Is there a way to make the tomato soup taste not taste like vomit?

Good dieting today!

That is what I use. It is the best fiber supplement I have found. I have a lot of intestinal issues and I find the extra helping of fiber help keep me from having stomach problems all day. I toss a tsp in my coffee, another in a couple of my shakes, and so on.

Hi, everyone! I'm on my second day of New Lifestyle. I did two days of the sample pack a week ago, and liked it, but I got extremely itchy on the second day. It was weird! So far, no itchiness this time.

I really like the food! Seriously! My plan is to focus on following the plan and not to weigh myself (I didn't even weigh myself to get a start weight, but I believe I weigh around 260). My first goal is to follow the plan for two months and see how it's going (meaning evaluating whether I am still following it consistently).

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hey downer!

I am impressed that you order your salads dry, I WISH I had that kind of self control...Last night, I had every good intention of ordering what I had planned but was having so much fun with friends and they ordered appetizers and desserts. Fiancee and I did at least only split an entree, and oddly enough, I am back down to 172..Dying to get to 158 in 19 days which is the weight I met him at and where my clothes fit. I have nothing getting in my way until the wedding except one more shower and then Thanksgiving "MEAL" - as I remember one poster saying her trainer called it - what a novel idea - not as per my usual a 5 day gorge yourself and gain 10 lbs extravaganza! I do need to drink more water today cause as usual I am dehydrated...it is my chronic state and I think a result of my surgery 4 years ago along with my crushing anemia.

On another note, has anyone ever gotten a MysticTan? I am thinking of trying the LIGHTEST setting today since it is 2 and 1/2 weeks til the wedding and if I hate it, it will wash off...this would be a trial run but i am terrified of that orange Christina/Paris tan they all seemed to have 5 years ago...

I've never had a MysticTan, but I pay for unlimited ones every month as a part of my tanning package. The salon I go to doesn't have one. Let us know how it goes.
Want to have a weight loss competition? I'd like to drop15 lbs ASAP, too.

OMG! I figured out how to make the soup and the oatmeal TOLERABLE!!! And I decided to have them for breakfast and lunch so that I get rid of them faster.

I do mystic tan's fairly often. I am VERY fair skinned (i.e. white as a ghost) and I get a #2 which is the medium setting. Get the tan 3 days!!! BEFORE the wedding. I learned this through trial and error. Enough time for any weirdness to fade away (if there are any spots that are uneven) and leave a nice healthy looking tan. I recommend doing it at least once before the wedding so you can get the hang of applying the blocker lotion and getting everything even.

I got married in July and I did my tan on Wednesday afternoon/evening for my Saturday morning wedding.

Get the nose plugs if the place has them, the stuff stinks to high heaven. And remember not to shower for 12 hours after you get it (you'll smell a little wierd for that 12 hours).
The stuff has an instant tanner in it as well as the stuff that tints your skin, so you'll look pretty dark right away, but when you shower most of that will wash off, just leaving the tinted skin which is lighter but still more tan than you were before.

downer, please tell how to make the oatmeal and soup tolerable, lol, i am up for any and every hint! And I WOULD LOVE a competition, absolutely love one! I am doing WS except for a bridal shower this Sunday and then Thanksgiving "meal" but other than that, I AM 100% on plan! As silly as it sounds, that 158 means so much to me, although my long term summer goal is 135 and ripped for the beach since I live at the beach. I live in Destin, FL and did NOT like being chubby at the beach this summer, I am just not comfortable. I want to be comfortable in my own skin, enjoying this beautiful place that I live. Going to the beach here is like going to the mall, and it's so hot, I want to wear shorts! Another part of my long term goal, and what I am asking for as a Christmas present is to do P90X, one cycle of it, mainly cause I want to see if it works and I need a good challenge.

Well ladies, thanks so much on the Mystic Tan advice, I tried it today on the Medium setting. It kinda freaked me out for a minute, being so dark and that stuff shooting at you! And they didn't have nose plugs so I could not figure the breathing out at all. Another weird thing for me, I am sweaty, like I sweat more than most. It was hot in the salon today from the beds and I was sweaty so the backs of my legs have some streaking. But I like the color so far, very glowy, although my face seems a bit darker but when I wash it again I am hoping it will die down. The package I bought was for 2 Mystic's and I have to use the other one by Friday so I am going to get a second spray Friday morning. I am thinking about trying the dark one although this medium is pretty darn good as is. I have jet black hair and blue eyes and fair but olive skin as odd as that sounds...my groom is strawberry blonde and blue eyed, with very fair skin. So I am thinking of getting him a light Mystic...sometimes I self tan him myself with a high end self tanner and it looks great on him so I may just use a light coat of that. He feels so confident when I self tan him! Well ladies I hope everyone has a wonderful, OP week ahead!

Well, with the maple oatmeal, I add 1-2 tsp of maple cream to my not more than 3 oz water. I boil them on the stove and add the packet once the water starts rolling. Then I stir and allow it to sit on the stove until it becomes super thick. Eat as quickly as possible.

The tomato basil soup was fun, haha, too. I boiled my 6 ounces of water, stirred in the mix; it actually dissolved throughly. Next I added a 35 cal wedge of Laughing Cow tomato basil cheese, some fresh ground pepper and garlic, and cooked a little while longer. It tasted so much better, and it didn't give me the impression of vomit.

So the challenge starts tomorrow, then! I'll be here daily, keeping you and me on our toes, er feet, to ensure we lose our 15-ish pounds in just a couple weeks. Wonderslim, gym, and Brazil Butt Lift here I come! I'm banking for some weight around 115 lbs.

Regardless, I'm sure you'll look lovely by your wedding date. No self-deprication - he loves you with or without that 15 lbs lost by your big day!

I don't have a problem with the oatmeal (only have cinnamon apple), but do add a little milk to it. The entrees are killing me. I add fresh veggies, but haven't found a really great solution yet.

Going to be a tough work week, but hoping to keep on track. I finally lost a pound that had been lingering. Need to get some exercise in this week!

Have a good week all!

downer, funny you mention that he loves me even with the weight on...i have a terrible, horrible body image. my friend has called me body dysmorphic, maybe i am, but never formally diagnosed. with the weight, i feel absolutely huge, but my fiancee..well, he will see women out and about, at the grocery store or the outlet mall while we are together and he will say, "that girl looks like Butter" (Butter is my nickname). and the woman will be thin and beautiful and i am so shocked he sees me that way cause i think i'm awful looking and couldn't hold a candle to that woman.

i really am so lucky to have him. it was a miracle we met, i was totally not into guys, just finishing my last year of law school. you see, i had a boyfriend of six years who died suddenly of an enlarged heart in 2006 at 33 years old. and i figured he was the love of my life, and that until i died one day, i would never know love again...

i was watching a football game with my gf at a sports bar and my fiancee walked in. he says he knew the second he laid eyes on me that i was the woman he was going to marry. he will be 32 in Jan and I just turned 29, and we have never been married before. but we were certainly 2 people whose paths crossed because of a much greater force...and my life has never been the same.

the anniversary of my first love's death is still a horrible and sad day for me, but i had a dream of him once and he was beautiful and told me he loved me....and it gave me such peace, i really believe he is in Heaven....

anyway, i know i have poured my heart out on this diet board but really when that love finds you, he does see you in a light that you may not see yourself in...but i am working on that!

BrunetteAtty - WOW...what a story...I definitely believe that your "Love" see's you in a different way than others do...at my heaviest weight (279) my womderful hubs would see someone who I saw as WAY smaller than me - and he'd say "look at that girl..that's what size you are"..I'd say "HA..I wish"...to me "that" girl looked 180 tops! He makes me feel sooo beautiful and SOOO sexy!! I too was NOT looking for love when I found him - I'd been thru a yucky divorce (a total cheating, drug using, idiot terd!) and had decided I was done with men - was content to just be me and my son...Hubs too was trying to rid himself of a bad relationship. A friend of a friend insisted on introducing us - and we both finally gave in. It took a couple meetings for the sparks to fly - cause we both were soooo resistent...but boy o boy when those sparks started...they still haven't stopped 14 years later! He adopted my son - and we are still as happy in love as we ever were! Oh sure - we have our ups and downs - but WAY more ups than downs!! And when we are down - it's not for very long and is always something really stupid!! Yep - I've got a gem too!! Good luck with your weight loss - I know you'll be a beautiful bride and your fiance is one lucky dude!!

Here's a funny about being a closet binger...On Sunday afternoons hubs goes for a bike ride and is usually gone for 2 hours provided the weather is nice. Well...while he's gone is usually when I scarf! LOOK out kitchen here I come...well yesterday he left about 1:45 (it was cold and dreary, but he was wanting to do a good 30 mile or so ride anyways)....I was busy in my craft room playing and about 2:30 I sat down at the computer to check emails - thought hhhmmm now'd be a good time for a big bowl of Froot Loops w/ Almond milk...so I go into the kitchen get the cereal - bowl, spoon and am just about to pour on the milk...KNOCK knock KNock at the door...it's HIM..he's back already...UGH...what to do...so I start shoving the cereal back into the box - loosing lots of it on the floor - scooping it up and into the trash, stick the cereal box back on the shelf - and toss the bowl into the sink giving him just enough time to dig out his key and is walking in the door (seems no one showed up for the club ride and it's was too cold outside to go far)..whew...that was close!! So needless to say - I didn't get to binge on my weekly 1/2 box of cereal - and almost got caught being a doofus! It's funny now that I think about it...why do I feel like I need to hide from him to eat junk??? Oh well...here's to Monday! A cold and rainy one at that! MEG - SNOW...really?? Already??

Last week I had a horrible sinus headache, so bad I had to leave work early and go home. On my way home I stopped at the gas station to get a big bottle of water and well i also bought a toblerone candy bar. After I ate it I hid the wrapper!
Ugh, this is not a healthy thought process for us, but it seems a lot of us do it.

Kristi: This is for you: a store 50 miles from me had TRIPLE coupons yesterday. I drove there and did my deal. The original total was $218. I paid out of pocket: $60!!! Can you believe it? I hope to go to another of their stores this coming Sunday, provided my house is spotless for my guests who arrive next Monday.

I'm still in a downward cycle (yeah!) and weighed in at 158.8 this morning. Sometimes I defy logic!

I did a big DD order: $250. I was getting low on dessert puddings.

Kristikins: Thank you for telling me your story too!! I want our love to last and part of me is scared, looking years ahead, I just pray that we always love each other like we do now. But I seem to love him more as we have more experiences together :) So I hope to have the years you have!!

Jennifer: Please tell me your food diet because obviously it is EXTREMELY effective! And the best part is that you feel better and in control and you lost that binge weight!! GOOD FOR YOU GIRL :) We can only take things one step at a time, one day at a time, and pick ourselves up when we fall. Cause we ALL fall.

I have another Thanksgiving meal planned UGHHH - fiancee just told me his mother is having Thanksgiving this Saturday for us since we will be with my family at the beach on the real holiday. I CANNOT eat too much, she will understand, I think..I can stick to turkey but this lady cooks at least 3 desserts at every meal. It is hard to pass up and the FUNNIEST part of this story is RIGHT after this meal, I have to go to the seamstress for measurements, and tailoring!! Please Lord give me the self control to not stuff myself so I cannot fit in my dress LOL

Hello everyone, I basically have been a lurker for sometime now and am always inspired by everyones stories.
I started WonderSlim in July of 2010 but had to quit due to health reasons. I have Multiple Sclerosis and I had a small relapse and I needed to focus on other things. So I have over 188 packets left and am selling them on ebay. Just posted tonight. I know this is a no-no but felt I would chance it... wanted to give someone the chance here to get a good deal on products since Christmas is coming up and know lots of people need to save where ever they can... please feel free to PM me or search ebay for WonderSlim. Good luck and best wishes to everyone.

Heck, I'll jump in with my "love story." I didn't marry until I was 38 yrs. old. I joked that by marrying so late, we were avoiding that first divorce. However, the boy (and I use that word on purpose) that I married was not the man I dated. He sucked the life out of me for nearly three years until I booted him out of the house and out of our marriage. (he has narcassistic personality disorder). He moved back into his parent's basement (yes, when we married, he moved out of his parent's basement. Red flag, no??).

I took a year or more by myself. Recovering and regaining my life and spirit again. I had lunch with a former boss and he encouraged me to "get out there again." I started looking into on-line personals.

I was leaving for a month vacation in South Africa when I decided to do a "blitz." DH was one of the guys and he responded. I was very cautious (which bugged him, since he's not an axe murderer).

The first evening we met, he knew that he'd marry me. I knew that we were "long term" before we had our 2nd date. DH had had a very rough patch. His DW of 11 years died of cancer. He remarried too quickly to provide a mother for his son (yet another story of the person one dated is NOT the person he ended up married to). He filed for divorce 4 times and even at the last minute tried to make his marriage work because it killed him to be away from his sons.

We've been together 4.5 years and married for over 3. We don't fight, we don't argue. He said that he doesn't "do big." But he never saw me as "big." He tells me all the time how proud he is of me. I'm VERY Blessed.

Aww, since we're sharing our loves of our lives, I feel like I want to contribute to.

I would like to believe that despite my age and unmarried status, I can feel loved, too. Like you, BrunetteAtty, I see my body as something it is not. After unexpectedly and reluctantly falling into a relationship, my s/o has spent the past two and a half years trying to convince me that I am something I do not believe I am. He doesn't point out other women and say, "You're more/just as attractive as she," but he does go out of his way to convince me that I am what he wants. Unfortunately instead of acquiescing, I've developed a counter to prove him wrong. He's none too keen on that, but he's steadfast; usually he offers his dissenting point of view. Recently he said, "It's not my fault you don't consider yourself attractive enough to eat," regarding what we would do if we wanted to go out to eat. It's resonating with me. I see room for self improvement, but he sees someone he'd love regardless. It's sweet, and I feel guilty I cannot see what he sees, or even agree with him. His support of me for me is essential, even if I try to brush it off.

Anyway, thankfully I did well in today's eating.

I have exams to study form. Ick.

BrunetteAtty, you could always exercise A LOT before going to dinner to justify the caloric expense of your meals.

Oh Ladies, I LOVE all these stories of love, loss, etc.! It is amazing all the journeys we go through in life. And I never thought at this time last year I would be marrying mine in 18 days!

Downer: We are just like that with our men, at least some women like us, but I would rather be friends with HUMBLE women any day than these cocky ones I see running around where I live! My fiancee fell in love with me because I didn't look at him as a meal ticket. Before me, the women who were AFTER him and I mean AFTER him were money grubbers and plastic surgery queens (and many much older than him) so when he saw my smile and warmth, he fell...And I made him CHASE ME because I have NEVER chased a man in my life (I am a Southern belle whose mother taught her, let the man call you, don't call him). He was not used to that and LOVED IT!

I can tell you ladies are nice and I like that, we need to probably work on having a little MORE self esteem but at least we have some humility which makes us THAT more human and has taught us compassion.

I was OP yesterday but I did have one bite of fiancee's Chalupa - didn't show up on the scale, luckily. He can truly eat a bagful of TB after a burger lunch and a biscuit breakfast and have ABS - his sister is the SAME WAY. One weekend of eating their mother's food, I GAIN 5 lbs - QUICK. His sister eats more than me, and her size 4 bridesmaid's dress is GETTING BIG on her! Oh the luck of the genetic draw LOL

That diet honestly looks absolutely delicious! Made my mouth water reading about it LOL.

I know that holding steady at your weight is probably a good goal because we are the EXACT same height, and if you have a medium-larger build, you must look amazing at 159-160. Oddly when I was at that weight, I could wear YOUTH XL's in clothes like Saints shirts and a football jersey. And I had a fitted pair of Misses Size 6 pants. Much of what I purchased was Small (4-6) and my Medium's were baggy. People are shocked about that, but probably much of it is Vanity Sizing.

Case in point, my mother and I had her wedding dress restored by a museum restoration company for my wedding. The dress is 30 years old, and she was a Size 8 - at my height of 5'7 and 135 lbs! I am having panels put into the side because obviously 135 isn't in my immediate future like in less than 3 weeks LOL but that DRESS WAS TINY! Even my teenage track star and cheerleader cousin couldn't fit into it so that made me feel better :)

But Jennifer you keep rockin that plan, girl! Your positive attitude will keep you getting healthy and staying that way. Doesn't control feel good!?!

Wedding dress sizes have always been weird, usually bigger than our actual clothes size, I have no idea why, but that's the way they are. My wedding dress was 2sizes bigger than my clothes at the time and still had to be let out a tiny bit in order to zip comfortably.

my love story-My (now) husband and I met in 1997, online. We met on an online bulletin board system way before meeting online was cool! He was living in Minnesota and I was in North Carolina. He flew down to meet me for the first time on my 23rd birthday. A year and a day later I moved to St. Louis where he had moved not long after we met. We lived together for almost 12 years before getting married this past summer. I weighed 142lbs and wore a size 10-12 when we met and by the time we got married I was an 18/20. He will sometimes rub my tummy and tell me he loves my soft belly.
He's a big guy too, 6'6" and 365lbs.

LOL, my cousin is named after the Police song Roxanne. So we tease her that she is named after a stripper (her 20something year old brother picked the name).

My middle names (yes, I have 2) are from singers on the Lawrence Welk show that my 3 year older brother was obsessed with.

I think the moral of the story is don't let men name children!

Wow congrats Erin! The program works if you work it! As for me, I know I went on about how sweet my fiancee is and HE IS..but he is a junk food junkie and last night I made spaghetti squash, he hated it, and he ended up going to McDonald's. My piggy self rode along, and once we pulled up and I smelled it, we were in trouble. I ate HORRIBLE yesterday. Had a WS supplement this morning and will try my hardest to do better today..How do you retrain a man's palette who grew up eating junk food and country cookin' and plenty of fried foods and desserts? I am at a total loss here....

The reason I posted is because this 4 (now 5) day upswing IS unusual for me. I do weigh daily and this is out of the norm for my usual ups and downs.

The stovetop and stuff yesterday was an anomaly. Bad day, I started not even to log it all yesterday, but did anyway, for my own accountability.

Regarding bacos, croutons and ranch dressing, its one serving each (usually) of the bacos and croutons (which are whole grain) on a HUGE green salad (I often don't write down the actual salad greens, my bad there) and its light ranch dressing which I additionally water down.

So regarding your comment that I likely won't see success on my current plan, I have to disagree with you. I feel that you can have a semi normal diet and lose weight. Its about changing the way you eat (or I eat), lower carbs, more whole grain, more small meals, less sodium, all that. I lost 65lbs 5 years ago by simply reducing the amount I ate, I just failed to keep it off, so this time around I am also learning the lower carb, small meals lesson in addtion to the eat less lesson.

I know I have not posted anything about my diet lately. I have just been so busy working on getting all my blogs and the links in order that I just keep going on the program and did not take the time to post any reviews of what I had been eating.

It has been busy with all the events going on, along with school and work. I will *try* be more diligent about writing. I need to. I enjoy it. I just need to write it in my schedule to make sure I do it!

This weekend is going to be tough as we are leaving Friday and not returning until Sunday. The UFC is coming to MI and instead of just driving to the show Saturday night, we decided to make a little mini vacay out of it and stay in a nice hotel for the weekend and maybe do some shopping and such. Spend time in the pool, hot tub, relax. I thought about taking the program food with me, but we already seem to have a list of places to eat at. Thankfully, I have a healthy option at every place. So, if I can walk away without a gain, then I think I did well.

Maybe I just did not pick a good time to start a weight loss adventure! LOL.

Sunday I went shopping with my mother and my aunt. I was gone pretty much all day. Matt had taken Maddy over to his moms around 3pm. It was her birthday and they were having a birthday dinner for her. I got home around 6pm.

I was happy when I walked in to not see a pile of doggy piddle on the floor. It does not happen often, but it does happen.

In my kitchen sits two giant boxes crammed with the New Lifestyle and Wonderslim boxes of food. I had spent some time Friday sorting and making one box to keep up in the kitchen and the rest of the food was going to be stored in the basement. I had been keeping these boxes on top of the dog cages, but they had been on the floor for a few days and the dogs did not even seem to care.

Well, Sunday they cared.

I found the wrapper for 4 Wonderslim protein bars, 2 packages of BBQ Snack Bites and 1 Sour Cream and Onion Snack Bite. However, there were still 10 more bars unaccounted for. I did not have these things boxed; they were single, on top of everything else.

My dogs helped themselves. I was worried because they have chocolate in them. But, they seemed to be OK. Just a little gas Monday and now they are fine and my box is now back on top of the dog cages. I don’t have a lot of room in my kitchen as it is, so I have no idea where I am going to start storing my foods. I might have to take everything out of the boxes and just put a week’s worth of packets in the drawer at a time.

Also I wanted to ask you guys how do you combat boredom with the foods???? Today I feel like I am in a funk and feel really bored...oh I don't want that, oh I just had that yesterday..and so on. I have tried researching ideas on the DD reviews and even poked around mymedifast. I do not want to get bored because I dont want to give up. I was thinking maybe a Lean Cuisine here and there might be OK. As a program meal, not as my lean and green.

hey irish - before i got my product, i discovered many lean cuisines and smart ones around 200-250 calories. and i think we have talked about our budget plan, so for that, i discovered some EXCELLENT Great Value brand lean cuisines at Wally World. They taste really good! Last night I was in a pinch and wanted a Lean Cuisine for dinner - they are 3.79 at winn dixie by my house! these are the bad things about living in a resort area. but luckily i get my food (usually) at Wally World. I really don't think Lean Cuisines would hurt. When I first had my stomach surgery, I would eat a Lean Cuisine for lunch and dinner, and a Kashi bar for a snack and lost consistently. Now, 4 years older, I am so much more salt sensitive and just have to watch every little bit of processed stuff I eat.

To me, Lean Cuisines/Smart Ones can be a binge preventer..here is why: when I am craving Chinese (RARELY), Mexican (ALL THE TIME!), Italian or even comfort foods, there is a Meal for that. Chicken enchilada suiza smart one is good for Mex. Pizzas are great too. and i LOVE LOVE LOVE the 3 cheese ziti macaroni...

Whheewww...still holding my 47 pound loss :carrot:- even with all the rediculous closet eating I've been doing this week...and I know TOM is right around the corner (meaning any day now)...so perhaps that's why I've been such a barbarian!

My wonderful son got me and hubs tix for a concert for my birthday - did I tell yall??? ...anyways - it was Warrant - Firehouse - and LA Guns...OMG...it was last night - I feel like the walking dead today :coffee:- but luckily I'm only working half day..so maybe my time will pass quickly here at the office and I can nap on the way to Georgia (we're taking our son to tour a school there)...well, so back to the concert....talk about ROCKIN...it was AWESOME!! All 3 bands were insane...it was WAY too loud (maybe I'm getting old...nah...I think it's where our seats were!)...needless to say; since these are older bands who are getting close to being nobody's again, it wasn't a sold out show - so hubs and I pretty much had the whole 3rd floor to ourselves! It was WAY sweet!! And I now have a renewed love for 80's/early 90's heavy rock!

Hope yall have a good day...and WEEKEND!!! Hot Diggety Dog it's FINALLY FRIDAY!!!

When I lived in OK, the WalMart was right down the road. When I did WW the first time I did use the LC and WW meals for when I really wanted something and did not want to use money or points by eating out. They were good. And now they have so much more to choose from. I do like the Healthy Choice because they also provide a vegi serving in most of their meals. I am like you I LOVE Mexican food and could eat it every day so I am very thankful that the Smart Ones line from WW has SO many to choose from. I actually had one last night for dinner, I just did not feel like cooking, so I had that and a big salad. The Ziti is one of my faves as well.

I am ok with breakfast. I switch between the WS pancakes, omelet and cereals. I have some breakfast pastries from New Lifestyle. It has not been too bad.

I think the lunch is where I am started to get bored because as much as I like pasta, I am eating it almost every day. I do have some soups (chicken, tomato, vegetable) and the vegetarian joe and a box of chili from WS or NL. So I think I would like to incorporate a WW meal here and there to break it up, and then that will make my food supply last a little longer.

For dinner its easy as I don't like a lot of meats anyway. I bought small potatoes just for my plan and I love green vegi anyway.

I have found some bars I really like so no problems there really. Its like eating a candy bar for me. And oddly enough I am not sick of all the puddings. I dont make shakes out of them, I like the thought of eating a snack rather than drinking it. I have had the smoothie from WS and I like it quite well.

So, next shopping trip, some meals, and I need some more vegetables!

OMG I love those bands! They were in my top 10 faves when I was in high school!

Congrats on the 47 and still holding :)

I am going to the UFC this weekend. It is coming to Michigan finally and my fiance and I decided to make a weekend mini vacay out of it. So we are about to head out the door and will be back on Sunday.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I got an email from New Lifestyle last night and they gave me some great recipes for Thanksgiving (which you can use the WS products for since they are the same). Some of them look pretty interesting. Since we were talking about Turkey day I thought I would share them. I don't want to post them all here and fill up the forum, so if you are interested here is the link to the page on my blog:

I use Wonderslim & Bariwise (and what Medifast stuff I have left) to replace 2 to 3 meal per day, sometimes 4 depending on how busy I am :)
I am trying to slowly (very slowly) move away from the meal replacements to my own food as I think that is more sustainable in the long run.

This morning I got up and somehow yesterday I had lost 2 lbs. Not sure how. My scale yesterday morning matched the Dr's yesterday morning down to ounces. So that was reassuring. But this morning...2 lbs lighter.

But today, I decided I just HAD to have this stupid burrito from Fresh and Easy. It's 90% rice 5% beans and cheese and then a small amt of Carne Asada. But the thing had 600 calories...but the carbs were something like 89g! What the heck? But now I am having this horrible guilt for eating it!

I am just going to eat my WS food for the rest of the day. But I am wondering if I am taking this just a bit too far or too seriously. I mean in 4 weeks I really haven't had 1 cheat day/meal even. Argh.

I really shouldn't feel this unnerved from having had a burrito that was almost all whole grain rice right?

Well this morning's weigh in was good. After gliding on he Gazelle for 20 min's last night, I am exactly where I was yesterday morning. So I guess the burrito didn't doom me but it sure made me feel like crud all day yesterday. Argh. I think it was just too big. But I am glad I didn't pack on pounds.

I have always been thin and after my daughter was born 7 years ago, I was thin until I stopped breast feeding her at 1.. then I just blew up! 76 lbs! I guess I just don't know how to handle this immense weight gain and now that it's coming off I am getting really freaked out about it coming back. LOL I really should try not to be so anal about it I guess.

Hi Y'all,
was on jenny craig for two weeks and lost a few lbs. Decided I can't afford it though. I bought a 2 week starter kit from WS to see what was up. I did my first day today and I am STARVING! How do you get through this?

Also, I was looking through the diet direct catalogue they sent with the kit and the boxes of food are so expensive!
Ten bucks for 7 protein bars? 10 bucks for 7 powdered soups? I feel like I could get all this cheaper shopping a grocery store and using those protein bars and other parts of the program with comparable calorie counts. Do you guys pay these prices or just use the starter kits?

Esilva - Don't fret over a cheat day here and there; it can slow your loss down, but I doubt there's ever been someone who died from a cheat day!! :D I still have your book here - am going to PO at lunch today - last week was sooo stinkin busy...concert on Thurs night (1.5 hours away), then on Friday we took our son to tour a school in Georgia (1.5 hours the other direction from our house); Sat was a trip to the local craft fair (way cool stuff I might add) and then to my in-laws for dinner (45 mins away) and then yesterday after church we had lunch at my sisters (for my bday on Tuesday) then we dashed off for Nashville (1.5 hours away again) to see the Blue Man Group...they were great and if any of you ever get a chance to see them I say - definitley do so!! Finally today I can get back to somewhat of a normal day! So yep - will be sending your book today and will let you know what postage is...

Dingo - welcome to our group! I usually just buy the kit (you get bulk discounts that way) and every Monday they post "Sale" items - that's a good time to stock up on your favorites! Really if you divide the cost out by the number of servings - it's only $1.43 per meal/supplement/snack - so not too bad if you look at it that way. Having said that - the more you buy the better discount you get as far as the kits go..I usually get the 12 wk kit (well, the 2 times I've orderd I have) - cause then it averages out to be a lot less than $9.99 a box! Hope that helps!!

Anyone going shopping on Friday?? What are the best deals you've seen or the items your looking for?

Kristikins thank you SO much! I will pay pal ya! :)

Dingo- I didn't buy the starter kit because you can't pick the foods you want in it and I don't usually eat deserts and such so I ordered a months worth (or 28 days actually) of items that I wanted.. and I only paid 189 with free shipping.

189.00 for 28 days worth of food really is not very much. And then what I did was once I ordered the 1 month, two weeks later, I then ordered 2 weeks worth. I did this so I would always have a supply. Fedex takes just about 7 days to arrive. And so now I just order every 2 weeks so I can pay it over 2 pay periods and not all at once. And I always have a supply just in case. But it's not very expensive when you average it out. For me it came out to around 7.00 /day to eat.

And are you drinking a lot of water? Water will fill you up and make you feel not so hungry. I average about 80 oz's a day. And it works. At 29 days I lost 13 lbs. And don't forget you can add things like fruit and some starches. I actually do have a small amt of potatoes with my eggs sometimes. Or with my dinner or rice and also fruit. Love my daily fruit :)

Good luck!

Good morning all!! Anyone have a boat I can borrow?? It's raining cats and dogs here this morning - UGH what a miserable drive to work!! Anyways; even though I'm still in the ofc by myself I am putting up the Xmas decorations today - began with assembling the tree late yesterday afternoon - so today I'll be finishing that junk up...almost decided to not go all out on the decor since I'm here alone - but being a business I just hate to not have a tree up....

Today is my birthday...I'm 38...hard to believe in 2 years I'll be hitting 40 and if I'm not mistaken my 40th will land smack dab on Black Friday!!! I know what I'll be doing that day!

Hubs is coming to have lunch w/ me today and we have church tonight instead of tomorrow night due to all the cooking/travelling/preparing for Turkey day...

I ordered some of those Capella flavor drops and the sweetner too; can't wait till they get here so I can give'em a whirl...I'll let yall know what I think about them! I need a cheaper/smaller alternative to those Torani syrups - so I'm hoping these will do the trick! I have those dang bottles everywhere!

Gotta get busy on that tree - later gaters!

Did everyone survive turkey day!? I stuffed myself silly literally and thankfully only gained a few ounces not even a full pound.

Found aa caffeine free diet pepsi. 0 calories, carbs and sugar that actually tastes really good and I am a pepsi snob. Yummm. Nice for those moments when I want a soda. And low sodium too! Yay!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday!!

It's been quiet here for a few days - guess everyone is still enjoying the Thanksgiving bounty! We had a great few days! I think I did ok with my eating - will use a weigh in on Monday this time since I was black friday shopping yesterday and was snacking on sausage balls for some quick energy and then had breakfast at Mimi's Cafe - pumpkin pancakes - YUM!

Oh I got my Capella's flavor drops in yesterday. Tried the French Toast one in a choc shake last night - pretty good (I added the sweetener too); had that after I finished my Mimi's left overs for dinner! Then just now had the fudge brownie and sweetener in my Mocha shake...again..pretty tasty! I got several of the flavors so I'll be letting yall know how they are as I try them. Am thinking of doing only WS today to get me back on track from the last few days; so it's possible I'll try all the flavors today! They are certainly a lot easier to tote around and store than those Torani syrups!

Got more laundry to do ...gotta hit it! Later Gaters!

I guess I missed something, at Diet Direct with the starter kits I thought we could chat live, call them, or email them to tell them what substitutions we wanted in the starter kits? I thought thats how you guys got exactly what you wanted? So far I have not ordered a kit from WS/DD b/c NL keeps sending me coupons so I buy the kits from them and they have an order form to order what you want, and then I order the extra things from WS that NL does not have. I stock up during the sales too. :)

I am sorry I am late!

Happy Birthday Kristi!!!

I survived turkey day. I had planned on taking my pudding/shakes that were premade and a lean cusine turkey meal. Then, I just decided to scratch that. I hate a late start to my day, had WS breakfast, then a pudding right before I left. I literally had two bites of everything, shared a piece of pie, had a half piece of the homemade bread I made, and taste of this or that. I did not stuff myself and I felt good that I was able to have a taste and I really took my time to enjoy it and enjoy the company. So, to me I feel like this was a good non-scale victory.

However, we have been eating out a lot as of late due to traveling and being away from home. I have been afraid to step on the scale, so today I am re-comitting and getting my rear back in gear. I am home alone today so I do not have to worry about cooking for anyone but me. So, I am going to do program food all day.

Funny thing is, as much as I like eating out for the fun and social aspect, once being on program for so long and going to eat something maybe not so good, it really made me feel yucky. Not mentally, but physically I just did not feel good. Maybe that in itself was a victory for me mentally, so now I know just what that stuff is doing to my body and I need to stick to salads, baked, broiled, grilled things. :)

I am so glad you liked them. I was waiting for you to let us know how they were. I did get some sugar free caramel flavor from Dollar General, but I just can't seem to get it to taste like caramel! Thankfully, it was only $1. LOL. They had Vanilla too.

I am going to order some of these drops today. A Christmas gift to myself. It always helps to have something different for my water, coffee, tea and to mix up these pudding/shakes a bit.

I was tickled when I saw one that was pop flavor! I was thinking of trying that and then the mini kit. I had another few, oh yes, Irish Cream because my sugar free creamer still has 30 cals for my coffee!

I am also doing all program food today! Aside from some salad and going to try the honey mustard dressing I got from Diet Direct.

:D thanks for the bday wishes!! You are right - you can change the kit order around anyway you like - provided you stick with the same category - for instance - I don't (well didn't) do the WS desserts, but when i ordered I could make the desserts any dessert I wanted, but had to order desserts - couldn't be more entree's or shakes or bars...make sense? They are always SUPER helpful and very nice - even when I tweak the 12 week kit until it no longer resembles a variety kit! Hey, I like what I like!!

As for the Capella drops - so far I've been very pleased with them - I ordered: the mini kit (and got 1 of each), also got the sweetener (it's pretty good) - i use 4 or 5 drops in my shakes (I like'em sweet!) and French Vanilla (YUM) and Pralines & Cream (will try that in a few mins)...so far the Choc fudge brownie, french toast and vanilla custard are good too! Haven't tried the cina danish swirl, caramel or coconut yet...I have found that so far my shakes need 3-5 drops of flavor and as I said 4 or 5 of the sweet. I will be ordering more for sure, there are so many more flavors I wanna try!

You will LOVE the honey mustard from DD...it's SO yummy! I keep some in my purse most of the time - and love it on chicken or as a dip for...fries...I bought several boxes when it was on sale so I'm stocked and ready!

I did pretty good yesterday - and ok today (not great)..but have a nice new journal to log my food in - so will begin that tomorrow!

Getting on the scale this morning was not happy time. :(

Oh well, back on the wagon today, plan on eating bare bones this week and kicking up the exercise to get the 6 !!!! pounds the scale says I gained since Wednesday off.

I got EA Sports Active 2 for Wii on Saturday, I did the intro 15 minute workout that evening. WOW, I am STILL sore in the front of my thighs.

On a different note, I can't imagine adding sweetener to the shakes, they are already much too sweet for me!

Into week 6 now and I am down 15.5 lbs! Yay...I was teetering for about a week but remarkably yesterday I dropped 2.2 lbs eating mostly regular (but healthy) foods! I didn't eat anything WS but 1 shake and a pasta.
I ate cottage cheese for breakfast
pasta and a huge ceasar salad for lunch
an apple
and then a portabello mushroom/swiss patty on a bed of lettuce with pickles and a small handfull of fries (baked in the oven) for dinner.
And somehow I lost 2 lbs. So yay!! LOL
I must have been doing something ok.

I am off to go take my college placement exams. UH...yeah 22 years out of HS and I can't remember ANYTHING math. I am hosed I think. ;)
Oh well we'll see!

Have a wonderful day and keep on plugging away!!

Erin - How wonderful that you are going back to school...I think I'd have a hard time with that myself! Will be celebrating my 20th HS reunion next year - so I can feel your pain! As for math..it has to make sense to me - adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing I'm good at and sometimes even fractions unless they are rediculous fractions - but it's the word problems and algebra that totally screw with me! I have to know why something is this way or that way; with algebra it just is what it is and therefore makes NO sense to me whatsoever!

Yesterday was good for me - except I went over my calories (yep - logged it all in!)...went over by 500 (YIKES) but the scale was down this morning anyways (I'm sure its water). Today is a good day for me (so far), I SO wanna hit 50 pounds soon and I'm only 3.5 pounds from that...UGH...

Hope you all have a great day - it's rainy and cold here (but the rain sure beats the heck out of snow - do I hear any Amen's??)...

I've been doing some thinking, and I think that I am going to start weaning myself off bars and shakes and onto "real" food. There are two primary reasons for this, 1. the bars and shakes are expensive 2. I think it will be more reasonable and sustainable long term to learn how to eat real food, in 5-6 small meals a day at a controlled calorie/carb limit than to lose it all relying on "temporary" food.

This is just me, and my thinking may be flawed, who knows. I am going to go slowly, breakfast is hardest for me because I am SOOO not a morning person, I have to drag myself out of bed daily, I really love to sleep. So if I can get up 20 minutes early and have some egg beaters and whole wheat toast for breakfast everyday for a week or two then I'll be fairly confident that I can move forward with my plan.

Working this week on getting the Thanksgiving weight off and stepping up the exercise.

Hi Kristi! Sorry WS isn't working out for you! It IS expensive no doubt! And for sure is a temporary fix to a lifelong problem! I think your plan is VERY do-able, just be sure to keep loggin your food/calorie intake or it'll creep up on ya quickly! That's my problem. As long as I'm loggin my calories in I can see what's going on, but the first meal I don't log - there she blows! I've regained some control over my eating this week -yeah I know it's only Wednesday, but so far 3 days in and 3 days good! I've been loggin everything - and been getting ALL my water in! I watched the Impatient Dieter videos last weekend and it got me all motivated again! And I realized that I don't have to drink straight water all day - I can mix it with the SF kool-aid and still loose - I do have to count that 5 cals per bottle - but it's well worth it to get it in! In doing so good this week I am already back to my pre-turkey day weight; holding at 232! So I'm hoping to see 50 pounds gone by this Friday (I'm just 3 pounds away from that)! Im not sticking to 1200 or less cals - but am trying to stay below 1500; I figure at my current weight that's do-able for me, and I don't feel like I'm starving/deprived. I know I can't stick to less than 1500 forever, will have to drop below that to drop more pounds - but its a heck of alot better than the 3000+ I was eating just 7 months ago, and will hopefully help me get thru the holidays and still loose some! Please still check in w/ us here - when it's quiet I feel like I'm in here all alone, chuggin' and pluggin' away...I do like company and encouragement!

It's finally quitting time...hope you have a good night!

Wonderslim is working for me (the modified version I am using anyway ) its just that I think that real food is more sustainable for me along with the small meal principal. I lost 60+ pounds 5 years ago counting calories and not exercising, just didnt keep it off. So this time I'm trying to learn better habits, exercise and small meals.

Awesome on your success this week! I'm working to get my turkey day (week) weight off!

I'm diggin' those Capella flavor drops! Not so much on the sweetener though..it's chemically tasting - but I think the flavors w/ a packet of splenda are right on target for a super yummy shake! YAY!

Still doing good this week! Jumped on the scale today and I'm down another 1/2 pound...so 47.5...maybe I won't hit 50 by tomorrow, but I will for sure be there or more by our Christmas trip in 2 weeks!

Yall gettin all your holiday shopping done??

Kristi(kins) - I still have not ordered those darn things! LOL I am trying to finish off the flavors I have off first. Congrats on the loss and I am sure that 50 is just around the corner! How awesome!!

My Christmas shopping is just about done. While my brave boyfriend went out shopping Thanksgiving night and Black Friday, I did all of my shopping online. His daughter is done, his mom is done, his step mom needs 1 more thing, his dad needs a little something else, my mom needs a little something else, and there is 1 more thing from me to him that I need to order. Until I met him I was done with Christmas in July! LOL

Kristi (keziah23) - You are right, it is a bit expensive, but it is a great training tool to get you on track with portion control and getting in to the habit of eating more protien , more often, and smaller meals. That is the only reason I decided to purchase it. I was able to use coupons and sales to get about 5-6 weeks worth of food for super duper cheap. I am slowly mixing in things like:

Egg whites or egg beaters instead of the omelet

GNC Total Lean or Jillian Michaels protein shakes instead of the shakes/puddings. I add a bit of benefiber to these as well.

I use Lean Cuisines and Smart Ones for my lunches. Many of these have a great protien count for being a frozen meal.

For the hot drinks and soups I have substituted Lipton cup of soup.

For the oatmeal I substitute McCanns Irish Oats

For the cereal many here use Kashi

Special K makes protein water mix packets, this is a low cal option to add more protein to your diet.

So, there are things you can do to mix it up a bit and be a bit more budget friendly.

These things are very inexpensive and on sale quite often. I find adding these to my WS foods help to make it last longer. I hope that by the time my boxes of food are gone I have my portion back under control. I have been really slow to use substitutions and I do not do it all the time. Just a few here and there.

There will be things I might always order, like I love the cheesecake! And the honey mustard Bariwise dressing is yummy!

irishchik-thanks for those suggestions!

Its been such a day. Woke up in a bad mood, much frustration at work, decided to have a bag of popcorn for lunch because I felt the need to crunch and chew, put it in the microwave and my phone rang so the popcorn burned to black bits and smoked up the entire office. I'm really glad I've got camera club tonight at a local bistro, I think I'll have a drink!

Nothing ruins my day more than a burnt bag of popcorn!! OMG! Doesn't happen to me too much anymore. I finally broke down and got an airpopper so that I could add my own butter and flavors. Microwave is just for in a pinch!

But I can relate to those day. I am having one right now. I bought a new laptop to replace my mini and my desktop (which was on its last leg being over 5yrs old) and I purchased a new desk and bookcase at Staples on Black Friday. I had the BF put them together today and I tried to work in the bedroom ( I work from home as a writer and I had homework to do) on the laptop. But between him , the 2 dogs and the cat, I did not get much done. So here it is almost 5pm and I caved. I don't have time to cook, so I ordered a sandwich from the local pizza place to be delivered. I am going to eat a large salad with it, which I premade a huge bowl the other day!

Eh...life happens. We can't be perfect all the time.

It's nice to hear that others have crappy days too! Makes us realize that we're not in this thing called life all alone! With that said, I've done sooo good this week!!! YAY ME!! I'm down 48 pounds and am thrilled that the scale is moving in the right direction (or shall I say left direction!)!! It feels good that I have this renewed drive for my weight loss efforts! And TOOT TOOT...I must toot my horn here - I had a project grad meeting last night (officers) - we meet once a month before the BIG meeting each month to discuss what's going on and what's coming up and any issues that need to be resolved...we are starting a new fundraiser effective our next meeting...Little Debbies...OMG can you imagine!!! Well, the lady in charge of that fundraiser had all the ins and outs on it for us last night, along with SAMPLES...I didn't even touch one! Oh I wanted to...chocolate covered honey buns...but I didn't! I've worked too hard this week writing all my food down and keeping up with it, making sure I've got my water in, etc...I wasn't gonna ruin a weeks worth of that for 1 honey bun! BUT, the weekend is here now and I'm hoping to stick to my guns! Hopefully by Monday I can announce that I finally hit the 50 mark!....fingers crossed and prayers said!

Yall enjoy the day..It's finally FRIDAY!!! YAY!!

Things got better last night, I went to my camera club meeting, had some goat cheese and french bread and a cocktail. I was at about 1500 calories total for the day and I'm okay with that.

Haven't been doing well on the water this week for some reason, have to step that up. Have lost 3.8 of my 7.4lb Thanksgiving binge weight, hope to lost the rest of it by Monday weigh in but I'm afraid that may be wishful thinking.

Have a great day everyone.

It's official: I'm a glutton. I was at a conference all week, along with enough WS products to get me through. Oh, I had those, but I also had other crap. I even mapquested Krispy Kremes and ate 6 of them within 12 hours.

I was in MUCH need of color and a trim...instead of the trim I decided on a new do...it's the Jennifer Anniston from the 90's, but looks so good on my head - with all this super thick curly hair, it's got body to spare! Looking forward to getting all dolled up in just a few minutes...maybe I'll post a pic of hubs and me!!

Day 1 of the "eat something besides a bar or shake for breakfast" experiment. I had 1/2 cup of egg beaters and 2 slices of Healthy Life bread for breakfast (as a sandwich eaten in the car :D )
130 calories
12 carbs
16 protein

My regular bar would be
170 Calories
12 carbs
15 protein

I can't believe how FILLING it was! I ate that about 8:15 (running late this morning as Monday is "measurements" day). At 11am when I am usually starving if I have not had my morning snack, I was only mildly hungry. I ate 1.5 ounce of lowfat cheddar cheese and a small orange.

Lunch is a ham and turkey sandwich with healthy life bread, 1 cup of light progresso soup and a 60 cal packet of prunes ( l love prunes)

Afternoon snack is vanilla greek yogurt

Dinner is a HUGE salad with grilled chicken

Haven't decided on post workout/evening snack yet, maybe a bar or an apple & some cheese.

All that is around 1200 calories.

I am finally back on the treadmill! I did 45min today after about 2 months off! I am also (So far) back on track with the plan. I am going to the grocery store tonight and plan to get some protein powder and lean cuisines to supplement my program food. I am getting bored of soups and macaroni!

Hi all! The weekend was ho-hum for me with my plan...I did good on Sat - until we got to the restaurant - bread, full fat dressing on salad, and CARAMEL PIE...YUm...so that wasn't sooo bad...but yesterday we had a pot luck meal after church services - again, not too bad...but then last night was our ladies bible class party; so yet another dessert...and full fat dressing on the salad (why didn't I remember to pack my DD HM??)....Was going to be on point for today - BUT...my son called me around 9 this morning with horrible pain - lower back...he came to my office and was in tears; so off to the ER we went (I could tell he was really hurting, and was thinking kidney stone)...after 4 hours we finally got to leave - yep a kidney stone alright...sent us home with pain meds to try to pass it. He went home and I'm at work - starving, had a small Wendy's burger and fries and then a huge bowl of HN cheerios...so I guess today is off the books..tomorrow I'll jump back on and hopefully there won't be anything crazy weird with the day!

Oh...the Capella's sweetener...is pretty chemically tasting..not sure if I mentioned that or not. JIC someone wants to try some...I've been doing the flavors w/ a splenda packet though and it's GREAT! Also Irish - you mentioned the V or Caramel syrup at Dollar General for a buck...I got some of that too..it's good but not sweet enough - so again I've added a packet of splenda and it's great! Not too bad for ONE dollar!

Kristi: Kidney stones must be popular right now. DH is pretty sure he passed one (after 4 hours in "Urgent" care). He's to get a CAT scan to see what the deal is since the doctor there found no UTI.

Trying to get back on track. So so start today.

Meg - My hubs gets stones every 3 or 4 years - the first time he got them he had to have them removed as one was lodged in the ureter, but talk about relief when he came out of that procedure!! Hopefully your hubs is ok!! I asked my son this morning if he felt like he had a baby yesterday - he said, "Ohhhh yeah....". Said he's still a bit sore from it, I can imagine!

So far today I'm on track - writing down and doing good!

llboyce - welcome! We're glad you found us too! You'll be SO excited when your big box of goodies is delivered!! WS is all about learning to eat small meals, several times a day. It works, if you work it! Tell us about yourself...

A good motivator is "the easy way show" website! She's a bit goofy, but full of energy and great motivation! I downloaded the Type Z book she talks about onto my Ipod - she's got lots of videos on the site and is full of great ideas on getting thru this weight loss plan - the EASY way! She doesn't follow WS strictly though - she does 7 shakes and 2 (250) cal meals a day; but hey...it's what works for her! She even has daily pics of her thru her journey - pretty amazing results!

Thanks Kristikins for the warm welcome. I live in Memphis, TN. I'm married and a mother of a one year old. I work as a police dispatcher and all I do is sit on my rump and spread like peanut butter (not for long)! Anyhoo... I learned about wonderslim thru the impatientdieter youtube channel (the easy way show) and you are right she is a bit of a goofball, but one **** of a motivator! By the way congrats on your 48lbs lost, I can't wait to join you! Keep up the good work cause you are motivating me as well.

YAY!! So glad you got it, now for the fun part..planning your daily menu's!! Not sure if you read any of our "tips" for spicing up the shakes or not...At Walmart you can get the Sugar Free Torani flavored syrups (in the coffee isle) - I add those to my shakes - YUMMY! I've also, like Irishchick, found at the Dollar General store some s/f syrups - only $1 but not as sweet or flavorful as the Tornai ones. I've been adding a packet of splenda (I like sweet stuff) when I use the DG syrups. They only have Vanilla and Caramel. The Torani comes in several flavors at WMT and you can order any flavor you can imagine online! Also, Capella Flavor drops are good. I've gotten several of them - only not a fan of the sweetner they sell - so again I use a packet of splenda! I use a single serve blender, 10-12 oz water (not the 8 that the packet says), 2 ice cubes, and the splenda/flavor drops or syrup stuff and blend. Blends up wonderfully smooth and frothy! The volume fills a large Solo cup, so I really feel filled! Hope that helps you to make your shakes irresistable! (after I'd been blending them - I tried to just shake one from the packet one day w/ out adding anything and thought I'd gag! My way sure makes an impressive difference in how they taste!)

The Spicy Mac stuff is EXTRA YUMMY when you add a TB of FF sour cream - as is the Cheesesteak Mac stuff. Heck actually I add the FF Sr cream to all the entrees/soups, etc...gives it the creamy kick I Love!! (just be sure to add your 10 cals for the sr cream!)

As for the cereals...I LOVE LOVE LOVE the berries and choc cereal - but it is absolutely delish in Almond milk! The Almond milk saves you several calories and it's really yummy!

Sorry to ramble, just wanted to enlighten you on some changes you can make to really enjoy the plan!

Hey ladies! I've been lurking in here for a bit and I feel like I know you all already! I used to post on 3FC a few years ago when I lost about 40 pounds just counting calories, but now I have gained it all back and my husband and I have just started Wonderslim yesterday. So far, I am loving it! Thanks so much for all the tips and tricks to modify the food!

Kristikins-I tried whirling the shakes in the blender with ice and extra water and some sf Torani syrup as you suggested- WORLDS of difference!!

I have also been adding SriRacha sauce to most of the pasta/ sloppy joe/soup entrees- it's the asian hot sauce with the rooster on the bottle. I like it better than just plain hot sauce or tobasco because I think it has more flavor- garlicky and oniony rather than just hot. Delish!! I've also been using boullion cubes instead of just water to mix them up with. I found a BUNCH of different kinds of boullion in the Mexican section of my grocery store: tomato & chicken/ cilantro& tomato/ saffron.

Also have been adding a packet of TruLemon and a packet of stevia to the lemon pudding which I think makes it great!!

I look forward to posting more and doing this with you guys!

Hi Dezzie - no doubt!! Like I said, I tried the shakes the regular way AFTER I'd done them my way...YUK! In the Mocha ones I even put in a bit of decaf instant coffee granuals and use the Caramel or Vanilla syrup - tastes like a Starbucks Frapp!!

Welcome to our group! It's been pretty quiet in here the last few weeks...everyone must be dealing with Turkey day hangovers and/or preparing themselves for the Xmas hangover!!

I've never heard of SriRacha before - I'm not big into HOT; I like a lil bite, but not so hot that it burns all the way down (cause if it's that hot going in, imagine what it's gonna feel like coming out!! Sorry!)...But using the boullion souds like a good idea..I'll have to give that a try!

Today is my sweet Hub's 40th birthday!! We are going out for Mexican tonight! I'm trying to decide what I'll be having...

Hey I notice you are from the "dirty south"...where are ya?? I'm in Middle TN.

I'm in Houston. It's pretty dirty down here!

I saw you hadn't tried the baking extracts cuz they were expensive- I was just at Kroger earlier and they had their brand of small-size extracts on sale for $1.59 each! I got coconut, orange, and banana. They also had peppermint, almond, vanilla, and I think a couple of others. I haven't tried 'em yet, but in case you have a Kroger in your neck of the woods, might be worth checking out!

The SriRacha can get pretty hot if you add a lot- it's not as spicy as Tabasco, though.

I also think I'm gonna try freezing a shake into icecube trays and see how that blends up. Has anybody tried that before? I thought it might make it thicker/more ice-cream like, though I'm not sure if it might separate?

hi all! so i just ended my first day of wonderslim and i have a few questions.
1. Do i have to add skim milk to my cereal?
i am a dry cereal eater and need to know if the dairy is vital?
2. Do i have to have the "optional" and "starch" with my dinner?

Kristikins

Dezzie - Yep - Houston is pretty dirty :D I have a dear cousin who lives in Pearland and my hubs has a buddy in League City! We do have Kroger - I'm all about Kroger now with my new couponing adventure! I'll have to give a try on them if they're that cheap! I'd think it wouldn't take much since they are extracts! Let me know how they work for ya! As far as I know, no one has tried freezing the shakes into cubes - some girls were whipping up their shakes then putting them in the freezer till slushy, they didn't mention having any separation issues...

llboyce - if you are happy with them the regular way - I say don't change, but if you're like me and always are trying to make food more exciting - then you have my instructions! I swear I should'a been a chef! I LOVE to experiment in the kitchen. Sometimes it's quite a surprise what I whip up; other times not so much! Mocha is by far my fav too! I know the smoothies have gotten a bad rap - but the strawberry yogurt smoothie is really good and a good alternative for those days (if ever) you get tired of chocolate based things...doesn't happen to me much at all; but sometimes it does!

Where - I'm not sure that you HAVE to do either of your questions - I like almond milk on my cereal (way less calories and still yummy) but I'm not a dry cereal girl...As for the optional/starch - I think that may be to keep you from desiring those things so much that you binge on them. Plus it helps to round out your nutrition! (if you check out easywayshow.com you will see that she has lost like 70?? pounds in a few months from having 7 shakes, grape water (sugar free grape cool-aid from walmart) and 2 - 250 cal meals a day AND she includes fat in her meals! So she didn't follow WS's plan - but was still successful! Oh...and be sure that you are popping a good multi-vitamin daily - that'll help with what you're not getting!

Well, we have about 4 inches of snow at my house - so hubs drove me in to work today..I hate being stranded here w/out a car...but I HATE driving in snow/ice more! Gotta get busy...yall have a good day!

4 inches of snow?! I scoff at you!!! Try 17!!! This is the one time where I'm glad I drew the "girl" card. DH was outside, struggling with the snow (and a snowblower that broke) and I was warm and toasty inside, baking cookies!!

Said cookies were too hard to resist, but somehow, despite them, I am nearly back down to where I was!! I'll take it!

Meg - :D 17 inches of snow....no way..I'd be moving south! Oh wait...I do live in the south and we still got this crap! The difference of us getting it and yall getting it - is that we don't get it very often, therefore we don't know how to drive in it! So there are idiots out making an attempt - crazy! Hubs drove me in again today, and now I have to try to get ahold of my Dad to see if he is coming to town so he can take me to Walmart. (I'm sending a care package to my cousin in China - and need to get a few more things before I can ship it, and it needs to get there before Xmas)...Yeah - I'm glad I'm a chick too - 2nd morning in a row hubs has had to scrape the car off!

:D:D I took SS2 to Target last night to Christmas shop. Since he wanted to be alone (not that he got anything for me :?:) I decided to try on some jeans. And I am proud to state that I fit into size 14 Skinny Jeans without a problem. So I had to buy them (that and the fact that my other jeans have me pulling them up 19 times/day). So I am wearing my Skinny Jeans (their actual name) today!!

It's a great feeling to go down one whole size!

Kristi: Yeah, well, people around here don't know how to drive in it either. Yesterday, the roads were clear but the idiot in front of me was going 40 on the freeway.

Congrats on everyones losses and non scale victories.

I have not posted in a while, I fell off the wagon. More than once. I find myself getting bored of the pasta (except for the plain mac and chz and alfredo) and so I had to buy some Healthy Choice and Lean Pockets to break up.

We have been doing a lot of eating out and I have not been making good choices. Shame on me. I was doing so good.

I did the treadmill a few times last week, but I got so busy with finals and work stuff that I was putting in 10 hour days.

Today I was looking for a desktop program for office exercise or desk exercise. I had one on my pc about 5 years ago and for the life of me can't remember the name, so I had to do some digging today.

Through a fellow blogger I found My Break Pal and I wanted to pass it along to you guys. I am not sure how your office feels about you putting a program on your pc, but the free individual is a just a pop up to tell you its time, you pick the exercise and it takes you to the web video. So the program is small. They do have premium individual as well as corporate and office accounts.

So far I really like it. I do something every 30 mins. Each break is 1-4min long. So you could get a good amount of exercise.

They have sitting and standing to choose from.

http://www.breakpal.com/affiliate/2392 (I don't get any monetary compensation for this, it will just add you as my friend and give me a point) apparently they do like sparkpeople and give you motivation points

So, so far today I have been back on plan.

CONGRATS Meg on those skinny jeans...you go girl!!! So proud of you and for you!! Now that's something to shout from the rooftops!! "I'm in SKINNY JEANS!!"....I finally broke down and bought some fitting jeans too - the ones I was wearing were 26's so when I finally found a pair that I LOVED the fit..they were 22's...No wonder I was tuggin and pullin at them all the time! (I could even pull them up and down w/out unbuttoning them!)

Irish - Welcome back..I knew since you'd not been on for a while you must have felt guilty :D aren't we all like that! Anyways, dust yourself off and keep it going! Supplementing with pre-made frozen meals should be ok, provided that you're watching calories/carbs, etc. and it sounds like you are...but still I want you to post in here...I miss ya when you're gone!

llboyce - Hey girl...weighing the same is WAY better than a gain - especially since you confessed to "cheating"! So don't sweat that at all! You know..I've been "cheating" too - it's almost TOM for me, and I feel like I could snack all day long! PLUS I am going on my families Xmas trip tomorrow for the weekend...in a cabin...8-10 of us...with LOTS of JUNK food around and some awesome home-made meals and several meals out...BUT I'm determined to take my WS along and do the best I can! I'm up 1 pound myself, but after all the crap I've eaten this week - I'll take that! And I was SO close to 50 pounds, had hoped to hit that before the trip..oh well, its my own fault - I "cheated" on no one but myself! So you pick yourself up - if you think about it - you would have had a loss if you hadn't chose to faulter..so you can see that it'll work, if you work it!

{hugs} to you all!
We CAN do this...we WILL do this...it's for no one but ourselves!! We ARE worth it and we DO deserve it!!
Lets vow to just do our best thru the holidays - and kick it into high gear on Jan 1st! That's what I'm gonna do - eat right when I can, do the best I can when I can't and hope for the best. But let me tell ya...on Jan 1st - I'm 100% focused on loosing - and this extra 66 pounds WILL go away!

We have ALL been there. 4 days is nothing to laugh at!! You just got to get back on track with your very next meal! Something I learned a long time ago (in WW) that we should allow ourself to eat what we desire, nothing is off limits, but it has to be in moderation. That is why I went on WS to retrain my thought process of eating smaller meals so that I could eat the things I wanted and remain within the realm of portion control.

Instead of eating, find something to do. I know it is easier said than done, but I find if I keep myself busy, I dont munch. I read. I write. Sometimes I knit. I take the dogs for a walk. If its crappy out I will walk on the treadmill or even go up and down my stairs a few times. Anything to keep your hands and mind busy.

Another thing, if you feel hungry or the need to eat, drink a HUGE glass of water. The hunger is usually thirst and it will go away.

And like Kristikins stated, there is no gain, so that in itself is a non scale victory!!!

I have fallen off the wagon so many times in the last few weeks, but I am NOT giving up. I just get right back on track with my next meal.

I'm guessing that everyone here likes the food that they order since most of us custom order our packages.

I have some things I am truly bored of (I know, already?) and I am not sure how much of a hassle it would be to return them/exchange for something else. Or for those products I don't really like and still have most of the box left.

Maybe we could have a swap party? LOL

Oh, and just a heads up, some of those new Lean Pockets with the multi-grain/wheat crusts have 18-20g of protein. They have a few more calories than the WS entrées, but for me to break up the pasta boredom a few extra calories is worth it here and there.

Hey LADIES!!

I am back and MARRIED and it was beyond my wildest dreams!!!! How is everyone? I am trying to read back on some posts, and looking for familiar faces :) I still have a lot of product, right before the wedding, things got so fast paced that I did no diet plan, and my dress was a little loose to perfect fitting! I did not eat much just from nerves and almost fainted at the seamstress's! Anyway, on my honeymoon and at the wedding, I ate everything not nailed down, without abandon and have NO guilt at all about it! That is a non-scale victory, I am only up 6 lbs and know WS will get it off :)

I saw someone else loves the easy way show - i LOVE her! she is where I first discovered WS products. She is a beauty - what great skin and her figure is amazing! I really think her method - of eating 2, 250 calorie meals is best for the metabolism. She also walked 2 hours a day on the treadmill and I do think all those things together kept her metabolism stoked. I have begun to think more about metabolism since I am very hypothyroid and sometimes my cals go too low and I won't lose a lb.

I tried to do a Jillian Michaels' DVD yesterday and was so out of breath. Are any of you ladies anemic? I am SEVERELY and I wonder if that (in addition to being out of shape) is what is making me SO breathless...thoughts?

Hey ladies! Irish - I think you only have 30 days to return any "unliked" foods; as for a swap party, that's a great idea! I have not idea what I could swap with you though...I'm liking everything I've got! But if I have something you'd like to try, I'd swap a few packs of stuff w/ ya!

llboyce - See...you were stressed about nothing....So glad that you saw a loss - keep on going...just be careful w/ the cheats!

Atty - CONGRATS on your wedding! I know you were a beautiful bride! No worries on the 6 pound gain girl..you had good reason! But like you said you can WS those pounds right out of your life! I was talking w/ hubs today on our drive up to the mountains about the easy way chick - I think she must not work or have a family to deal with to be able to devote 2 hours a day to the treadmill; I wish I could do that or even had the drive to do that...but - I don't love to move - YET!

Well girlies..I need to go; we are at the cabin in Pigeon Forge this weekend w/ my family for Christmas - having a BIG time! Make good choices girls!

Kristi - Guess where I just returned from on my honeymoon!! Hippensteal's Inn and Buckhorn Inn high in the mountains of Gatlinburg! Those gourmet breakfasts and 5 course dinners are what did me in - but I did hike Ramsay's Cascade (4 miles up a mountain, 4 miles back down) in a SNOWSTORM! It was just me, husband and 2 crazy guys we met who were super nice. Even at 174 lbs, I was proud of being extremely strong. The snow was deep and I just kept treading along. So to say I envy you in Pigeon Forge is an understatement - we were in Gatlinburg at the Inns for 8 days and they were absolutely wonderful, great place to be for Christmas :)

As for the easy way chick, does it seem she hasn't updated her website in a while? I may not be looking at the right place on her site for new videos. But yes she either (1) doesn't work or (2) is self employed and works from home. I think it is (2), one of her video's gave me that impression. What is awesome to me about her is the amount of research she put into losing weight, the necessity of some fat, ample protein, walking in her target heart rate for weight loss, water consumption, etc. My only problem with her plan for me is finding small 250 calorie meals. I am not crazy about the Wally world salads she recommends or the tuna packs. Do you ladies know of any ways to find small, easy 250 calorie meals? I may purchase the bags of dark green salads (romaine, etc.) and just count cals for the dressings and maybe put a little chicken or tuna on top.

I regret having purchased an elliptical machine and not a treadmill because she is absolutely correct about target heart zone for fat burning. My elliptical is too hard for me to stay on a full hour even on the lowest setting.

llboyce - you are welcome! I am not perfect with the plan by any means, but I am not giving up. I just pick right back up again and keep going. It takes time to change habits and it is all a learning experience. Sometimes water retention is a culprit! My first week I did not lose anything on the plan, but the next week I was down 5. There are so many different variables, and every persons body is different. One thing to remember too is if you are working out, muscle weights more than fat. So you might be losing weight but gaining muscle.

BrunetteAtty- congrats!! You know, I tried to watch the Easy Way show and while she has some good points, I wonder, does she work? It seems like with her plan (2 hours walking) all the drinking and pee breaks that she must not work, unless she works from home. Also, her over excitement kinda gets to me. I know that sounds weird, but its almost like shes over doing it. Just my 2 cents. It makes it hard to watch for me. But, its amazing her transformation!

Kristikins- you are right about the 30days, but I bought my last shipment the first of Nov to tide me over through the holidays. So, no returns for me. I like pretty much everything I have too, for the most part. But I think boredom of the entrées has started to set in.

I was thinking I would take advantage of the DD December coupon and get a box of smoothies, another box of the cappuccino , some Alfredo and the plain mac and cheese. Those are the things I ran out of. And those little packets take up less room than the Smart Ones, Lean Cuisines and Healthy Choice do in my freezer. I have purchased a few of those to break up the lunch, and for dinner on the nights my fiancé works late.

I don't want to buy a lot of WS as I want to wean myself off of it at some point. I still have a LOT of food. 2 big boxes full (should get me through till Feb!). I stocked up! But a few things I ran out of, I would like to have some more of while I finish off the boxes.

I should have read this before I started writing my last post! That is exactly what I was thinking. She did say she signed up as an affiliate with "her company" in one of her videos and I am pretty sure its DD given some of the things on her website and in her vids. I was wondering that too, about her work situation because she talks about drinking all day long and how much she has to go potty and her eating times. Plus she walks 2 hours a day. I was thinking, I work from home and I STILL dont have time for all of that!

I am determined to get back on the treadmill and complete my couch to 5k program!! I also found some office exercises on you tube that I saved so I can take breaks and not have to leave my office. Every time I do I lose my creativity (I'm a writer) and I also put a program on my desktop to remind me of break times and I do yoga exercises.

Slowly getting back in to the game. I am just trying to survive the holidays and then I will hit the new year running.

I wanted to get to 180 by June 26. I am 225 right now. I keep going up and down. June 26th is the day I am finally going to see U2. I have been a fan since I was 13, and living in OK at the time they never came as their was never a venue large enough for them. Dallas would always sell out before I could get tickets. Now that I am in MI, it seems everyone comes here. So I was using that as my goal.

As for the 250 calorie meal, I like fish and there is not much calories in that, so I usually do like fish and spinach. A small piece of chicken breast or a tuna packet is good too, with some green beans or a salad. Also, not sure how you feel about Lean Pockets, lean cuisines, or healthy choice but their is a nice variety of those under 250.

Atty - Isn't Gatlinburg the BEST!!! We come here every year for Christmas, the weekend before...it's GREAT! Did you get any shopping in at the Outlets? We did a little bit today, but not as much as I usually do. I did get 2 pairs of Merrell's - I'm So excited about finally getting some good shoes for my painful feet! We don't do "outside" stuff like hiking, but always plan some sort of group outting, so tomorrow we are doing breakfast at the Black Bear Jamboree! It'll be FUN!

Irish - good thinking on stocking up! I've got quite a bit still left too. Thought it should get me thru the new year, but since I've been "cheating" I think I'll have enough to get me thru longer! I've not tried the alfredo - is it good?? I've not done the plain mac-chz either (only 3 servings in the box for the same $ as 7 pks of chz burger mac, I just can't make that work in my brain!). I don't mind the pasta meals - spicy and chz steak, but I mix it up by throwing a soup in a couple days a week...I also have LF ritz crackers w/ my soup - helps make me think I'm eating "real" food!

Well, gotta start getting ready for dinner...my b-i-l is grilling steaks tonight! YUM!!

Irish- I saw you liked the smoothies...is there a trick to them? I ordered a box of each flavor, and, to be quite frank, they're the first thing I've ordered that literally made me gag. Maybe it's just a difference of taste, but are you doctoring them in some magical way to make them delicious? ;) Just thought I'd ask.

Congratulations to everyone on their losses! I am a little disappointed- I have been on plan for a week and a half- no cheating and no deviating- but I have only lost 5 lbs. It doesn't seem like much for how restrictive my diet has been- and I know the first week's loss is supposed to be the fastest. That said, 5 lbs is still 5 lbs, and I am going to keep at it. I was just really hoping for a bit quicker loss at the beginning to stay motivated.

Is anyone else starving all the time? I was fine the first week- which is weird, because almost everything I've read has said that the first three days are the worst- but actually the last few days have been terrible. I'm so hungry, all I can think about is the next time I can eat!

Dezzie - I'm sorry you are struggling with hunger..are you getting your water in? Perhaps you're not eating enough? There are lots of reasons why you may be at a stall or not loosing fast - that said, fast isn't always a good way to loose (although it is the most encouraging!). From your description though, it sounds like you may not be getting enough calories to carry you thru the day w/ out hunger therefore you won't loose if you're body thinks you are starving it! It's a sick little game that our bodies play on us! Most of the big losses that folks see that first week are water - not fat. So if you were a water drinker before WS, you may not have had that much water to loose and your 5 pounds is likely fat! YAY! That being said 5 pounds is 5 pounds! I hope I've helped, I know it can be a crapper to not loose fast and feel like you're depriving yourself...hang in there girl...and maybe try to increase your calories a smidge!

Well, we are back from our mini-vaca; and back to work for us. It was a FUN trip and luckily the weather coming home was much better than going! It was 30 on the way - snowy, icy and YUK! But coming back yesterday it was in the 40's and sunny! We have already booked for next year too! Hubs and I toured the Titanic museum; absolutely amazing! They even have a place with water in it that's the same 28 degrees as it was that fateful night - so you can stick your hand in it and see how bone chilling it was! We finished watching the Titanic movie last night too; also amazing how they took so much fact from eye wittnesses and incorporated it into the movie!

Gotta get busy - later chickies!

Hello everyone! Happy Holidays!!
Well I am trying to catch up on everyone's posts at least from the last few days. I hope everyone is well!?
I have had such discipline this holiday season. I have surprised myself for sure.
I can count on one hand any sweets or anything I have had since Thanksgiving. And so far after something like 57 days, I lost my first 20 lbs! YYYAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!
And I noticed I haven't really ordered much of my Wonderslim stuff.
I still eat it, but not as dilligently. I just make better choices.

I tend to eat the cereals but if not, I have egg beaters and fruit, or small cup of cottage cheese (low fat, 1/2 cup at most). Lots of fruits and greens. Seasoned tuna (no mayo) with crackers for lunch or my WS pastas...trying to stay on the eating many times a day, that's hard sometimes as much as I run around. But doing ok. I just noticed that since I have cut soda, bread, big glasses of milk etc out of the pictures, its melting off (for now.)

Keep on losing everyone! Good luck and Happy Holidays!!!
Erin

Well, after reading this forum I ordered WS. My box comes tomorrow!!! I am pretty excited, but worried. A while back I tried Medifast and it was just so awful I made it less than one week. I read a lot of reviews that WS is much better. My biggest question to everyone is, why does it seem like nobody does the plan as it is laid out? Is it too hard, or are all the substitutions allowed?

So, looking forward to my box and letting you all know how my work in progress goes.

Hi Little Camper! Welcome to our WS group! I've not tried MF - but I think WS is good! You said you've read the forum - so I'm assuming that you took notes on how I fix my shakes??...that's the BEST way - to make'em super YUMMY! If you didn't take notes - let me know and I'll hunt down the post number for ya!
As for why few follow the "plan" - I'm not real sure. I guess maybe they need more variety in their day, maybe it makes WS easier to do - if you're tweaking it to your own liking...I try to follow - when I'm being good - as closely as I can anyway. Sometimes are better than others; but I will be kicking it into high gear on jan 1st! If you follow the plan, strictly, you'll see better and quicker results I think - but sometimes we fall into our old routines and begin to tweak WS's plan. Check out easywayshow.com she's got some great tips on there - she's lost a BUNCH of pounds, and did it in a few months by tweaking it her own way!
Can't wait for you to get your box! It's like Christmas for YOU!!! Have fun with the sorting; and try not to get overwhelmed! I work outside my home - and so when I started WS I'd pack a gallon zip loc baggie with my food for the whole week; I had a bag for each day. Once my baggie was empty for that day - I was done eating, until I got home for my dinner (dinner is the meal I eat w/ my family). It really helped me to stay organized and keep up with what I'd eaten and what I hadn't eaten! Some of the girls use those over the door shoe things to put their packets in. Hope these tips help ya keep things straight!
Have a wonderful day!

Soooo...I made a *great* shake today. I used a vanilla WS pudding/shake mix, 8 oz water, and about 1/4 tsp banana flavoring (the unsweetened kind that I got at Kroger a couple weeks ago) and about a tsp of caramel Torani sugar-free syrup. It tasted like one of those banana fudge-cicles! Soo great!

I am not struggling as much with the hunger, but am kind of struggling with not losing very much. I lost 4lbs the first week and this is my second full week- tomorrow's my weigh-in day (officially) and I think I'm only going to have lost about a pound!! I figured I would plateau eventually, but I'm not very thrilled about having been on such a restrictive diet and starving all week for a skeensy pound of loss. Still, I know it's something...

About tweaking WS- I think a lot of it has to do with just kind of getting the learning curve down of how to fix the meals. There are a lot of options, but I do think that a lot of the pastas and soups taste a lot alike, and the sweet stuff is not that sweet or that interesting, really, so adding herbs and hot sauce or zero-calorie extracts/syrups to them really does help A LOT with the taste for me. WS is GOOD for packaged, dry, diet food, but it IS still packaged, dry diet food! I think a lot of it has to do with them knowing that this has to go out to a large market of people with different tastes, so if it's fairly bland and inoffensive, more people will be able to stick with it.

Dez - I think you're right on your reasoning as to why WS needs a little kick! Personally I like the meals (well, the Chz steak Mac and Spicy one are my fav - but I do add a dollop of FF sr cream to both of them!) As for a slow weight loss - I know it gets discouraging when loosing slowly - but you've got to think - this is the holiday time, when folks are force feeding you and it's mostly bad for you stuff; so a loss during this time, no matter how small - or heck even a maintain - will be a step in the right direction! Myself, I'm hanging on as best I can until Jan 1st - get these stinking holidays behind me and then I'm gonna be bustin' a big ole move on sticking to WS plan, riding my indoor bike and getting this FAT off my body for good!

I brought the rest of my gifts to work today - gotta get them wrapped!

Kristikins- thanks. Your shake receipe sounds wonderful and i can't wait to try it. As it is, I am planning on starting WS January 1, since the holidays are always super busy with a bunch of food parties and such. I know myself and I know there is no way to start anything until after the holidays. I am a cheater and don't want to fail right out of the gate. But at least I have a little over a week to clear out the crap from my kitchen and get other stuff from the store.
Can I ask, is anyone else a coffee addict? Is there any way to work in the coffee? I usually have a large travel mug (2 cups) with two splenda and a cinnamon or hazelnut cream. I have not ever seen a low cal or fat free flavored creamer. Any ideas?

Camper - You are thinking right - don't attempt a new eating regimen right at the holidays - could foil your whole plan! Would mine!! As for coffee - you can mix your shakes in cold coffee (i use decaf inst. coffee granuals in mine); have you tried the hazelnut Tornai sf syrup? It's sweetened w/ Splenda - may be your trick! You can get TONS of Tornai flavors online if your Walmart doesn't have a bunch - our WMT only carries, Vanilla, Choc, Kahlua, Hazelnut. As for making is creamier - use unsweetened Almond Milk - WAY less calories than milk; but still yummy good!

Sounds like everyone is doing ok with the holidays! Great non scale victories!

When I started the WS/NL journey it was due in part that DHS had taken away my food assistance. Well, reduced it from $200 to $16. I complained and sent in papers, nothing about my living situation or income has changed. So, I have no idea why such a change. Anyway, I figured, well if I have to pay for groceries, may as well by some WS food. Now I have a credit card bill of about $400 lol Now I can use my food benefits to make the transition into grocery store foods.

Lately, I find myself bored. Seems to be a problem I have when following any plan, aside from Weight Watchers, where I can eat whatever. I have learned a lot from the weeks I have spent on WS, so honestly, I am happy and it was not a total loss.

However, I would like to get my credit card bill taken care of and its too late for me to return the food. So eBay, here I come. That is really the only thing I know to do with it. Otherwise it might just sit here and collect dust.

I AM still going to follow the guidelines of the WS plan as well as I have finally found an exercise plan that works for me! I took the time to roam my local grocery store to find comparable products, at least the best they offer. Protein is not really an issue for me as hunger is not the problem, emotional eating is. I am working on that too.

I have made a list of the items on WS I like and the nutritional info. I am sure the grocery store folks thought I was a mystery shopper or something. I went during the day when no one was there. And read, read, read all the labels of things. Some are pal in comparison, and some are close enough.

I also have a discount store that sells open boxed, dinged canned items for 80% off retail. I got my freezer, fridge and cupboards stocked for $100. I will be glad when I am done with school and can work more so I dont have to deal with this. Although, I will always shop on a budget! I prefer the more for less method. HAHAH

So, breakfast items I am going to use
skim milk
kroger brand eggbeaters
dozen eggs (i do egg whites, my family eats the yolks in their scrambled)
all bran cereal
box fiber one cereal
multi grain cheerioes
fiber one pancakes (makes 3, eat 1 save 2)
Quaker oatmeal, in packets
Irish oatmeal (i have instant and slow cook)
Grits

So, while some of these are a bit higher in calories than WS, the portions are a bit bigger too. The fiber and protein are close. Fiber fills me just like protein does so I am ok there.

For the Pudding/Shake supplement I am going to use Jillian Micheal's brand protein powder. I think I read that here. Its easy to find and I can use my benefits on it as oppose to going to GNC.

For lunch I found some Smart Ones, Lean Pockets, Lean Cuisines and Healthy Choice that work. Again, a few more calories, but the portions are bigger too. Lipton makes cup of soup packets that are great, low cal and taste good.

The only thing I am not sure about is the protein bars. I loved Pria bars back in the day, but can't seem to find those. I thought maybe Luna would be good but they seem really high in calories. So I am not sure what to do about a bar. I am afraid to try the ones at the store. So I may just supplement with powder or skip the bar since the meals have more cals.

Dinner will be lean and green!

I have been using the calorie free syrups for more variety. Even in my coffee. YUM! And I have gotten back in the habit of having hot tea when I feel the need to snack.

Now, if only I could get my exercise motivation back so I can put forth my plan, I would be good to go!

Oh, and I actually found something I really liked at Applebees. We go there ALOT and I can't get enough of their spinach dip and boneless wings. However, not diet friendly. My mom and I were out Tuesday and we went there for lunch. I tried the Dijon Chicken that was on their 550 menu. OMG! It was to die for. Who needs hot wings????? I think that is my new favorite item at Applebees. I was pretty excited about my find.

Irish - sorry to hear of your issues, but glad you've figured out other ways to still keep on the right track! I'll possibly be interested in some of your goods; will you let me know what you have and what your price is?? My fav's are Mocha shakes, Choc shakes, Cheesesteak Mac and Spicey Chz Mac and the berries & Choc crunch cereal - the oatmeal is good too...maybe since you're having trouble finding bars; keep the ones you have??...

Hello Everyone. I just joined up with 3fatchicks.com as well as doing my first order of wonderslims. I am excited and worried at the same time of trying another diet plan. I have tried Weight Watchers and LA Weight Loss. I did have luck with weight watchers when I first tried them as I had gone from 285 lbs down to 250lbs. I stopped doing it online because of money and motivation. I then tried LA as my best friend tried it and she was having great success. For me though it was a huge waste of money and time as I never lost more than 1 - 2 lbs a week but it always jumped back up and extra pound 2 weeks later so it was a constant rollercoaster for 4 months then I finally gave up. I did sign back up with weight watchers but I am unsure how well that would work because of my job now. I am a Community Health Worker (Care Aide) and I am constantly driving so I don't have the time to eat proper meals, let alone prepare them. My shifts mainly start at 12noon but leave home just after 11am so lunch is usually after 1 of my clients and then I work till 10pm so majority of the time I am away from home at supper time. Most of my shifts I do not actually have time to sit and enjoy my meal, I have to literally eat it while driving so I am hoping that Wonderslim will help in this aspect.

I find $41 a bit much to spend on shipping for 2 wks supply but between WS and MF the overall cost I think is cheaper. I was debating NS but have read to many negative reviews. Look forward to giving and recieving support and information.

BTW I have also been diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago and am battling to loose the weight to have baby number 2.

Hi Smiley,
I am also new to 3fc and ws. I got my box a few days ago and spent a lot of time sorting everything. I have seen all the same frustrations as you with other plans and am hoping ws works for me. This time around my boyfriend is doing this with me and I have extra support here. Good luck to you, fellow newbie. Looking forward to sharing this journey together.

Good morning and WELCOME!! I think you both will do well w/ WS - if you work it! Don't get discouraged when you first try the WS food - I'm gonna shoot straight w/ ya...it does NOT taste like a Big Mac or Pizza or a yummy home made meal...BUT - here's the light at the end of that tunnel - if you tweak it a tad (by adding spices, FF sour cream, etc or sf flavored syrups/extracts) it's really good! I mean - it's diet food; we are just trying to retrain our bodies on the apprpriate portion size and training it to eat for fuel, not pleasure. I can tell you though - that I bought a BUNCH of Nutrisystem food for cheap on ebay a few years ago and that stuff was CRAP! Everything I tried tasted like cardboard - it was amazing how they can make chocolate cake and lasagna taste exactly the same! WS is WAY better! So good luck to you - and please come in and post often - questions, comments, recipes, just chit chat...I think I'm the only "original" WSmer here now; and oh how I miss my buddies!

Kristi you give such great advice!!

I have made a list of things to get at the store, ff sour cream, ff or 2% shredded cheese and so on to add to the cheese steak and spicy mac to give it a bit more variation.

I am NOT ready to give up yet. I do have more entrees than I have pudding/shake mixes so I am going to get Jillian Michaels protein powder as a replacement.

I am going to spend some time tweaking the WS food. I started to get a little lazy and just eat it right out of the microwave even though I know some of them were better on the stove.

It just got crazy busy there for a while.

I like WS and I have not really ever been able to say that about a program with food before. Although, 20 years ago NutriSystem was yummy. That is when you went to the centers. I tried it again about 3 years ago, yuck!

I did find out a weight watchers meeting is now 5mins from me as opposed to an 30-45min drive when I first moved here. I am thinking about taking advantage of my lifetime membership, even though I am way over goal, and start going to meetings for some face to face support. I'm just not sure it really fits in my budget right now. Weekly fees do add up.

My main goal was to lose 40 by June. I figured once I got closer to my goal weight, or at goal, then I would be able to go back for free since I am lifetime, with the hopes that would keep me motivated to not gain again. LOL.

Anyway....I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Mine was great. I am back on program (minus the handful of movie theater popcorn leftover from last night I just snacked on) and loading up with water. I am about to pop in a DVD and exercise. Working from home has some perks, I can take an exercise break. LOL

My program anyway. I had some Fiber One cereal for breakfast. Its like shredded wheat and really yummy. With 1/2c skim milk and my coffee. That filled me up. My AM snack was a mocha pudding. I like making the packets into pudding to get that satisfaction of eating rather than drinking.

I have some Special K protein water packets I am putting into my water. Pretty yummy tea flavor and I toss a dash of lemon juice in there.

I am not sure about lunch yet. I was thinking maybe vegi joe with a piece of light bread or some soup.

For Christmas my man bought me tickets to go see Bret Michaels of Poison tonight, so we are going to be eating out. Honestly, I am so tired of eating out food! I am feeling gross. Lately I have been eating a lot of grilled chicken when we have been going out so I am guessing today will be the same. Or just a huge salad.

Now that the holidays are over, I can focus again. New Years Eve isn't going to be too big of a deal. So I am not too worried about that.

Ok, off to exercise!!

Yeap, no Big Macs here. I love Kens Red Hot sauce so I pretty much doctor up a lot of these recipes. On the Diet Direct website people post reviews of the food and they have posted how they doctor it and make their own recipes. I posted my own on my blog, although I have been slacking lately because I was just eating it right out of the box. Mistake, then you get bored. LOL

For example, with the Cheesecake, once in a while I will had pumpkin spice, to make pumpkin cheesecake. Or once it has set I will add a small drizzle of Hershey sugar free strawberry or chocolate syrup.

On the chili I add a spoon of fat free sour cream and a sprinkle of fat free or 2% cheese (whatevers on sale) and some hot sauce. I had hot sauce to the cheese steak mac. The spicy mac I have been known to throw in some broccolli and do that with the Alfredo as well. Even a packet of tuna.

It really is a game of experimentation because what one person likes, another may not.

I add sugar free calorie free flavors to the pudding/shakes to get a bit more variety. If you have a Dollar General by you they have a couple flavors for $1 if you wanted a test run without spending a lot of money.

http://capellaflavordrops.com/ Capella has over 50 flavors and they have mini sizes for trial too.

http://www.minimus.biz/ sells trial sizes and mini sizes of food items, which are quite handy when eating out or traveling.

I like the berry smoothies as is. I don't doctor those at all. To me it tastes just like berry yogurt smoothie. As for the mocha, chocolate, vanilla cream pudding/shakes, for those I don't make the shake option. I would rather use a spoon and eat. Works better for me. Can trick my mind. The mocha I do not use anything with. The chocolate I have added caramel sugar free syrup. I use 40z of water with a packet and use a shaker cup and shake the crap out of it. I guess I get a little arm workout in the process. There is no grit and its nice and creamy like pudding. For the vanilla I have added hazelnut sugar free syrup, another time I added pumpkin spice. I don't do too much doctoring of these. Mostly because I have yet to order any sugar free syrups from Capella.

I have not really been cheating during the day, what my problem was not following the lean and green dinner. We had so many events, parties, functions, eating out , yadda yadda that I just was not making good choices, and for the most part, did not care. Not that I was giving up on my diet, I just wanted to eat what I wanted to eat. I am over it now, all out of my system and still moving forward.

I am going to have to add LF Ritz to my grocery list!

If you follow this link:http://www.selfemployedwriter.com/search/label/Wonder%20Slim

those are all my wonderslim related posts. Tips, tricks, cheat sheets, menus, recipes and so on.

Many of us do use the plan that is on the WS website. We tweak the food a bit more for flavor and so that we can incorporate a few real food items. People still lose and it makes the plan so easy and yummy. For some, the cost is an issue so comparable grocery store items are thrown in to make the program food last longer.

Any ideas?

I have to have my coffee. No way around that. A cup of coffee does not have many calories, like 5 if even that. I use splenda and sugar free creamer. I just suck it up and drink those few calories. I use My Fitness Pal to keep track of my calories and I do pretty good, even with my coffee.

Hiya! Just came on to update my ticker (down 12 lbs since I last updated it in, er...? November early?).

I don't do the WS plan, or even half do it anymore, I segued to normal food with my WS as occasional adjuncts, and it's going fine so far. I do think the period of using WS products more frequently very much jumpstarted me well into this WL journey.

My DNA results said I should eat high carb/low fat, and it's been hard doing that. I'm so used to lower carb, but I've added potatoes and rice and stuff. So far, still okay. :) But I used an Aloha Mango with my toast and cheese this am for added protein.

I wish all the WonderSlimmers a great New Year and may you and I all get to or close to our goal weights in 2011!

I gotta admit my personal fault-, I am sooooo lazy. I don't like to workout. I like to lay around, watch TV and eat fast food at night. So, for Christmas my BF bought me a recumbent bike. Kinda neat. Since I am the type that can't leave anything in a box or unopened, I made him put it together right away. I rode for 1/2 hour on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was tough, but I did it. Kinda helps that the TV is in the same room. (can we say reality TV junkie?) Well, I was wondering, how far do you all go in the excercise category? Any one have any great ideas on how to work out without it feeling like a chore? What kind of things do you do? The bike is great, but I think I may get bored with it eventually and should probably do other things as well.

I freaking HATE to exercise. Once upon a time I didn't. Well I hated the gym, still do, but I loved walking and running. Still love walking, just can't run. I do things that don't really seam like exercise. Yoga, walking, bike, roller blades, running around the yard with dogs and a 5yr old, I have a treadmill , and a home gym. I watch tv when I am on the treadmill. I have some exercise videos that I use, mostly walk away the pounds and yoga. Then I have a program on my PC that makes me takes breaks and exercise during my work day. I posted about it a few posts back. Every little bit helps. The key is finding what you do enjoy and going with that.

Hi Smiley,
I am also new to 3fc and ws.

Didn't know whether I should have deleted your response in my reply or not so I didn't and we will see how it turns out. Thats great you have the extra support and that your BF is doing this as well. My husband isn't doing this but he is supporting with this. More or less he is going with it because it is cheaper than JC and you don't know what works until you try it. He is just disappointed when I tried LA that it didn't work for me because a fair bit of money went into it. He just wants to see me happy and to succeed, especially since it isn't just my overall health but because I need to loose it if we are going to go for further fertility treatment. I was diagnosed with PCOS probably about 6 yrs ago when we decided we wanted to try for child number #2. The first one is 8 yrs old now, and we so want to have another child. Hubby feels he is starting to get too old to have a 2nd so we gotta hurry up now and so I ended up signing up for a fertility specialist and have been trying the basic meds almost as far as we can without going up to injections or even IVF. It is also possible too that if I can loose enough weight we can have another naturally without fertility help. I'm tired of wearing plus size clothes, I am ashamed of what size I am, ever since I had my son I have been over 250lbs. I just want to be healthy, and at least at what I weighed when I met my hubby even though that weight is still considered obese.

I look forward to this new adventure and really hope I have better success. Its mainly being motivated to exercise and eating healthier and not as much junkie food. I can't obstain from unhealthy food otherwise I will binge but I will put sweets as a treat, if I crave it only have small amounts and in smart moderation......Look forward to the support here and hope I can be of support too.

I'm an exersize hater too! The bike will get old after a little bit, so be prepared for that! I have a stationary bike too - it's in my craft room - needless to say - when I'm in there I'm more interested in creating a work of art rather than riding that thing! I am resolved though - beginning Jan 1st I will ride it EVERY DAY that I don't have stuff going on right after work - bored with it or not...I'll plug my Ipod into the docking station and JAM out!

O, BTW I also forgot to mention yesterday that I had a call from DD just to confirm my address since it is international (Canada) and they said it would be sent out today and delivered in 7-14 business days. I got my confirmation email today saying its been shipped but it seems so far away. I wonder if I should have gone from the $41 shipping to the $73 shipping as then it would have been 6 days max. I think I will wait and see how long it takes, if it takes closer to 14 days then next time I will spend the extra $ and do the faster shipping. Just hope there won't be issues going across the border (customs)....

Smiley - not sure how Canada post service works, but I've found in the states it really doesn't matter if you pay for quick shipping, you usually get your item in just a couple days anyways! And sometimes even if you pay for quick ship it can take longer! Hopefully you'll get your goodies soon! I know there was someone on here at one time from Canada - don't remember who it was or how quick they got their box though...

Have a fun day!

Today my bf suprised the heck out of me. He is one of those guys who won't read directions or learn about new things that he's not that into. When we did South Beach together he would ask me every single day what he could eat, when he could eat it, what he had to do for excercise. It got soooo frustrating with him that I eventually stopped helping him at all- that is what got us off the beach. Well, he looked through all the stuff that came in the box, even though I sorted it into ziploc bags so all he would have to do is grab a bag in the morning and go. Well, the suprise is that he went through the book and actually read it. He is even filling in pages that set goals. I just can't believe it. He took the initiative. WOW. He is even looking at recipes and tips for how to prepare everything. Even more, he is planning our first day (January 1) and has decided we are having pancakes for breakfast!

Fantastic. I just added you too. I think this is a great thing we are doing, and I am glad we are both starting at the same time. A little extra motivation. I don't know about you, but day one for me is Saturday and I can hardly wait. I am ready, set and motivated. Of course, Friday is one of the most indulgent days of the year for me. It is my 14th anniversary with my bf and we tend to have too much of a nice meal and of course too much champagne. I just cant cancel the celebration this year, so I am calling it a Wonderslim Welcome Party.

Hope your celebration turns out to be awesome, same for you Kristikins and everyone else here. Blessings this year!

Hope everyone had a great New Years celebration. I kicked off the New year with a great evening with my bf and started the new year with with WS. I think my bf is gonna quit fast. He likes the shakes, with Kristikins recipes. They are pretty yummy. The smoothies are great too. I added some strawberries and actually really like the berry yogurt. The problem is the lite entrees. I think they are ok, but my bf is having a lot of trouble already. He couldn't finish the vegetarian joe at all. I added onions to mine and thought it was ok. He also found the spicy mac in his words "repulsive." Odd, I really like the spicy mac.
So, does anyone have any suggestions for things that we can replace WS entrees for him and keep him mostly on the plan? He is a really big guy who can't weigh himself on our bathroom scale so we have no idea what he weighs. I want to get both of us healthy and I like this plan. Are lean cuisine's an acceptable replacement, or any canned soups? Let me know if you have any ideas that will help.

Just started wonderslim as well, had a few missteps at first with the food, I was just estimating how much water to put in and doing a bad job of it, with shockingly terrible results. So far I don't really like the shakes at all, but I've never liked any protein shake before. Hopefully as I try more of the flavors I'll find a few I like. If it doesn't get any better I am just going to add as little water as possible so I have less to choke down... The bars are waaaay better then other protein bars I have tried, so thats a plus.

I don't know about replacing the entrees with a lean cuisine, lean cuisines are usually around 200+ calories, but looking at the men's plan he gets a starch and an optional with his entree so maybe it could even out calorie wise. Not all lean cuisines (or Smart Ones, etc) are high protein, so you would need to read the nutrition labels.

DiKKY- congratulations on starting WS. I have to say I tried Medifast before and it was terrible. WS is soooo much better. As for the shakes, check out Kristikins receipe posts from a while back. They are really good. I think the trick is the flavored syrups. And thanks for the info on the lean cuisines and smart ones. I am sorry to report that my bf has quit. He has a horrible headache and is whining so much and he is blaming it all on the entrees. I think he will regret it when he sees my future success.

Yay Day 1 of my WS re-birth post holidays/wedding food fest! I have enough WS food I think, I split half of it with my Mama. She has a lap band and just got a fill and I think they finally got her tight enough. Her bariatric doctor has a plan that is remarkably do able and uses the 100 calorie protein shakes, in boxes that look just like WS, and he even lists Wonderslim on his diet plan as an acceptable shake! I have never seen a doctor endorse WS itself so I was really happy to see it.

Little Camper, the doctor has put my mother (and I am putting myself, since Jan. 15, 2011 is my 4 year anniversary of my gastric bypass and I have gained 30 lbs back from my lowest weight) on a plan that I will list for you. It looks a lot like "Impatient Dieter"(a YouTube personality who uses WS) plan but this is coming from a doctor....You stay between 1,000-1,200 calories a day. For breaky, you have 1 or 2 WS shakes. AM Snack is a WS snack. Lunch is a Lean Cuisines/Smart One/Kashi frozen meal between 250-300 calories. Afternoon snack is a protein shake. Dinner is another frozen meal between 250-300 calories and then PM snack is a WS shake or snack....Just staying between those calorie req's. And of course drinking TONS of water in between meals. Taking a multi-vitamin as well. His literature says you can stay on this plan until you reach goal. He does have an option to kick start the plan where you have only the shakes and no solid food but I just don't think I can swing that one! I would pass out, especially with the amount of food I have grown accustomed to eating.

I got on a body fat scale at the doctor's and it said I should be between 135-143 for the best body fat. I have unfortunately GAINED a lot of FAT lately, not muscle. At least since the last time I got on this scale, maybe in 2009. I actually lost precious muscle which is understandable since I was not exercising much. Anyway, ladies, I hope you all have a wonderful on plan day!! And I will check in later for accountability!

Hello everyone and welcome 2011!!! Today is my re-newed dedication to WS! I took off a few days thru the holidays and luckily it only set me back about 6 pounds...not good to have a gain; but 6 pounds will be gone in week or so! I'm gonna tweak my WS plan too; gonna do more shakes and less of their meals - need to find that happy balance for me again...I like 1200 calories a day; makes me feel good - not stuffed and bloated and definitely not starving! Plus I saw GREAT results with 1200! Just need to figure out my strategy to get me at 1200 daily!

Camper - sorry to hear your BF gave up. But like Smiley said - he'll see the results you are getting and will want to join ya again! I posted some time back that food is fuel - not entertainment, not a comforter and not for boredom - fuel for our bodies - that's all! If he could get to that understanding he wouldn't care that the food doesn't taste like Moma's home made yummies. You just keep on trekking toward the light at the end of the tunnel - he'll follow! Oh...not sure if you read my posts on adding stuff to the meals to make them yummy - FF sour cream will go a long way to sprucing up the Vegi joe - well, heck...all of the meals!! And some even add extra veggies to bulk'em up too! (i've not done that - but may try it!)

Smiley - You just keep doing what you know is right..you'll be pregnant in no time and then you'll have a crying, pooping, eating machine and you'll be asking yourself "why'd I want this"...:-) keep your chin up girlie!

Atty - So good to see your back!! Fat schmat...you know what it takes to get it off - regain that muscle and look and feel fabulous! Nose to the grindstone girl...

I purchased Chrystal's ws leftovers - so I have no doubt the meals she'll be sending me will push me on to the goal; all I should have to get extra will be shakes! YAY!!

Hope you all have a wonderful 2011 - we will work on this weight loss together and will be hitting our goals soon! WOOT WOOT!!

That was me falling off the WS wagon! Between the week before Thanksgiving and today, I re-gained 4.5 pounds! :(

But I am also re-committed and ready to hit the ground running (even if I am going to cancel our gym membership.) I am thrilled to see DD's special this week includes the Bariwise protein bars-carmel crunch is absolutely the BEST!!!! Yum!! I am stocking up.

I'm pleased that I am still fitting into size 14 pants - I purchased another pair of jeans during this time.

I really, really, really want to go to Europe this year so I'm going to check into that and I really want to wear "normal" sized clothes so I can buy things there. If Europe doesn't work out, we'll do a cruise and I'll still want to weigh less!

LittleCamper
01-03-2011, 01:57 PM
Thanks BrunetteAtty for the plan your Dr. listed out. I am going to propose that to my BF tonight to see if he will rejoin me. I think with the two meals and not a WS entree he may be able to do it.

Kristikins *DOING THE HAPPY DANCE FOR YOU* so glad to see your enthusiasm. It really helps to have a great motivator/cheerleader like you. Plus, your shake recipes are fabulous. I have used several and no missteps so far!

Goddessmeg, at least you only fell off the wagon and not the mountain! Dust yourself off and get ready for that European Vacay. I personally have taken a few trips to Europe, but I worked for a cruiseline in College. I would definitly recommend the cruise. Even better, I would take a Mediterranean cruise. Best of both worlds.

Good luck all with the renewed enthusiasm and commitment.

Hi all!! I've been lurking on this forum for a few weeks while i ordered my WS starter kit and then waited until after the holiday craziness to start today :carrot:

So far so good! I had the apple cinnamon oatmeal this morning (probably would have ben better had i eaten it right after cooking it instead of forgetting it and eating after i had a shower...but still okay reheated and with a little extra water. Over the morning i managed to get in two shakes (mocha and strawberry--both surprisingly tasty. Much better than some other protein shakes I have in the cabinet right now), 4 oz of banana. I need to plato get that early breakfast in. I've gotten in the habit of grabbing coffee on the way out the door to take my son to school. Lunch was the creamy chicken soup and a bar. So didn't feel like enough food so i also had some cut cucumbers and carrots. Soup was good (a bit of an aftertaste, but nothing offensive) and the double peanut butter bar was delish. I pre made the cheesecake dessert so it would be good and chilled. Dinner will be some chicken on a salad with lots of veggies and a side of some starch. (rice?)

Looking forward to checking in with you inspirational ladies and getting off to a great start for the n ew year:)

I am glad I could help.

I just wanted to let the newbies know that I am not quitting on purpose. Well, more or less. The only reason I made the choice to do WS is because DHS took my food benefits away. I figured if I had to buy food, I may as well buy something to help my weight.

I used coupons and codes and stocked up. I am pretty much convinced when it was all said and done I had 4 months worth of food!

I did lose 5 pounds and I got my portion control in check. I read labels, I roamed my grocery store and checked everything! I was surprised at some things I found. I use the WS meal plan as a guide.

So, when they gave me my food benefits back, I also got my credit card statement, and at the same time I was getting nauseous just thinking about eating spicy mac or cheese steak! But, I LOVED just about everything I tried. Some was OK. But there wasn't anything I could say I really hated or would not order again.

Kristi and I did a swap. I get to pay my credit card and she gets my food and I get to eat comparable items from the grocery store. It was a win-win situation.

I should be graduating college this June. After that I will be able to go back to work full time. More $$ = no food benefits, but I will be able to buy the food items I really need too.

I would DEFIANTLY recommend WS to everyone I know AND I would love to do the plan again if I needed.

Lately I have been thinking about sucking up my embarrassment and just using the benefit of my lifetime membership of being a WW Lifetimer. I just dont want to be that girl that gained her weight back. I live out in the country, and until recently did not have meetings close. Now there is one 5miles away. Better than the 40-60 the others were. But, even as a lifetime member, I have to pay since I am over my goal weight. It is a reduced fee, but it still adds up ever week. The online program is only $18 a month, so I have thought about getting hooked back up on WW.

I wish I could do it the free way and count calories, measure portions, read labels. I have an account at My Fitness Pal that I use faithfully. I was doing good until my shoulder injury at the end of last summer. That put me out or months exercising and put me behind with my career. So, really what I need is a bottle of exercise motivation!!!

Anyway, I will be checking in with you guys!!

Hi everyone, I'm back after my holiday break (ate pretty much whatever I wanted from 12/10-1/2). I was afraid to get on the scale yesterday but was surprised to see it only up 3.5lbs from my 12/9 weight and today those 3.5 are gone (don't you love water weight fluctuations in your favor?! :D )

Kristikins

Chrystal - WW does add up with that weekly fee - maybe you could go a couple times to get the materials and then wing it - we'll kick your rear here if you need it! A 5 minute drive to the meetings certainly beats the heck out of the longer commute - no doubt!! I mentioned WW to you earlier - I think another issue I have with WW is our leader - SUCKS!!! She is absolultely NOT motivating - very crabby and hateful actually; and she's an old lady who doesn't understand that some of us still go out and enjoy our lives/dinners etc...Oh well...maybe when she finally gets gone (she's been the leader for 20 some odd years) and they get someone fantastic in there; I'll be at my goal and can go for accountability!

Kez - Congrats on your mini-gain and quick loss...yes, I did that too; 3 pounds of water gone in 1 day!! WOO HOO!!!

:dizzy: Hey everyone!! Happy New Year! I haven't been on for a bit but I hope everyone is doing great! I stayed stagnent for a couple of weeks during the holidays. No gaining (yay!) but no loss. So I am back on track and just lost a few more lbs this last few days finally! Wearing some clothes that I couldn't fit into at ALL 2 mths ago which is nice.

And LittleCamper- I have hamburgers all of the time :)
I have them wrapped in lettuce. No bun. Actually very yummy. I take leafs of romaine and either wrap my patty with fixings or just lay it on a bed of lettuce. I do usually eat turkey burgers, but not always. Fresh and Easy (not sure if you have one) has pattys that are beef and mushroom and swiss and such. And I have gotten those and had no problem losing weight that day. I have even had a Carl's Jr 6 dollar lean. Which is the same. They wrap it in lettuce and the patty is lean beef.

Good luck!!
23lbs since Oct 21st. I guess I am doing ok but I have lots more to go! I have been incorporating some regular food in my WS diet. I order small amts every 2 weeks. Bars, a lunch or cereal. Seems to be working.
LOL
Hope everyone is doing well on their weight loss goals and the holidays didn't get you too badly!!

Camper - Boca makes pretty good "fake" burgers, my favorite is the All American one, tastes flame grilled (I bake mine in the oven on a Pampered Chef stone) - Also - Healthy Life makes a Lite burger bun, it's whole wheat and only 80 cals - if you NEED a bun! Oh...and if you've not tried the Morning Star breaded chicken patty - YUM! I bake it too and it gets crispy on the outside - very yummy! (we have those sometimes for a quick wed night supper before church!)

YAY Erin's back! So good to see you lady! And good to know that the holidays were kind to you! I like to hear how everyone is tweaking their plan to fit them...WS is so versatile!! Welcome back!

I tried a Healthy Choice steam meal yesterday - Chicken Parmigana - OMG was it delish!! 260 cals - 21g protein - and tasty to the max! So glad I bought 2 of them..now I can have it again in a couple days!

It's finally HUMP day yall! SO glad! This is gonna be a long week - since it's a full work week - the first in several weeks! Hope you all are doing well!

Yesterday was HUMP day for me as I work Sundays to Thursdays.

Well it shouldn't be long until my first order arrives at my house as I checked the status with the tracker and it arrived here in Canada yesterday at 2pm and went into customs. Now all I have to do is wait for it to get through customs.......Hope they don't take their sweet *** time as I am getting impatient. Also hope that the additional fees I will have won't be too bad, hopefully just the Canadian HST tax (12%).

hey all,
so after 4 weeks i am starting to find all of the entrees except spicy mac repulsive. i want to return the entrees and was wondering if anyone knows how to order the snack bites as part of the starter package or if its even possible. Id much rather eat a bag of sour cream and onion crunch bites than try and slam down another bowl of the chili, its getting gross.

Thanks for the great burger ideas. I love Boca Burgers and I think I will try it tonight with a lettuce wrap. It sounds pretty good.

Smiley- Yay, hopefully you will have your box any day so you can get started.

WhereAmIHidingIt- was just wondering if when you first started everything tasted allright or if you thought the entrees were repulsive at the start. I am planning my next order and wasn't sure if I should get more variety or stick with what I like already.

Kristikins- I am with you on the Health Choice Steam meals-they are ridiculously good, and Lean Cuisine has really improved. I had a lean cuisine mushroom tortelloni that was so delish I could eat it every day.

little camper- it was not repulsive from the get go. but what i realized is lunch is the only part of my diet i hate, i like the bar but the entrees are so lacking, i am a realist i cant doctor them up without turning them into more calories than i need. i could eat the spicy mac all day long but hate the cheesesteak mac, i am getting very turned off by the chili and vege joe the more i have to eat them (i ordered mostly these with just two boxes of spicy mac.) im reaching out for help because i dont want to eat off the diet so what else on WS can i eat the few days i dont want to eat spicy mac.

Smiley - What exactly do they do in "customs"? I hope you get your package soon!!

Hiding It - I don't think they'll let you mix a snack into a starter kit...Seems like the last time I ordered I wanted more shakes and less desserts and they wouldn't let me (had to be from the same category)...Sorry you're getting sick of the entree's..have you tried to doctor them up? I use FF sour cream in EVERY entree (even soups, chili and veggie joe) - it really makes a tasty, creamy difference! Someone here puts hot sauce in theirs, but I'm more of a "creamy" kind of girl :D and some add extra veggies...I actually didn't like the snack bites at all! To me they were like cardboard and no way to dress them up...I've tried to choke'em down, but YUK! Even the BBQ ones are nasty to me! (funny how our tastes differ huh!) I hope you find a way to make it work for ya!!

Meg - a cruise!!??!! I'd LOVE a cruise! There is NO way I can get hubby to do one though - I've tried and he won't budge on it! So I decided I'll have to take one w/ my Mom...we'll do a cropping (scrapbooking) cruise in a couple years (got to get that extra week of vacation awarded to be able to work it in!)...Soo.....where ya goin? I'd LOVE to cruise to Alaska or even a mediterranian cruise - but w/ my Mom, it'll have to be a tropical location :D

Kristikins - I have no clue what they do EXACTLY in "customs". I guess just make sure there is nothing in the box that can make bombs or anything to do with weapons.

Gotta make sure there are no parts to make the 'ATOMIC BOMB'....LMAO

ooooooo a cruise! I want to do one of those. $$ is always the issue though plus with my job I am just a casual so I have to request the time off and in prime season (summer, long weekends, holidays) good bloody luck!

I remember seeing a post somewhere on here about flavor syrups....What were they used for? I know I will want to Doctor stuff up as I get bored of things easily.

Smiley - the flavored syrups are Torani or DaVinci sugar Free flavored syrups. They are usually found in the coffee isle at a grocery store and Walmart! Irish Chik mentioned and I found them too at the Dollar General store only they are a different brand - but for $1!!! The small bottles at Walmart are around $4.50 here. However, the DG ones aren't as flavorful or sweet as the Torani or DaVinci ones! You can also find those name brand syrups online (Amazon and Lollicup, etc). The bottles look like wine bottles that they are in. I will not drink a shake without doctoring it up a bit - I mean, if I'm gonna drink it - it needs to taste good, right!!?? Oh...also, Irish chik found a site called Capella Flavor Drops - they are teeny tiny little dropper bottles of flavors; way easier to store than the Torani/Da Vinci bottles; they are good - NOT the sweetener though, I do better with a packet of splenda. I've tried several of the mini-drops from Capella (cheaper and to see what's good) and Pralines & Cream and French Vanilla in the bigger drops - like I said, they are good, sometimes if you use too much though you can taste a chemical aftertaste...As for the Torani and DaVinci syrups; there are TONS of flavors! I've got Brown Sugar/Cinnamon, Coconut, Creme de Menth, Peanut Butter, Vanilla, Buttescotch, Pumpkin Pie, Caramel, Kaluah. They are good for a switch up but my favorite is the vanilla with some decaf inst. coffee granuals in the mocha shake with a couple ice cubes and 10oz water...YUM!! Like a frapp! Hope I've not overloaded you with info - but I'm a firm believer in mking things taste good (i'm from the south - we are sticklers on sweet, fat laden comfort foods!!)...

Thanks for the info on the syrups. I think I will go check out the Walmart by my place and see what they have. I checked out the Capella site last night and I want to try 42 of the flavors but 42 x $5.95 adds up ya know.....lol
Anywhoo like I said I'll see what the Canadian Walmart has:dizzy:

I got the gingerbread Torani syrup at Dominicks. It is soooooo good with all the shakes. Definitly recommend it. And, I got the cinnamon syrup to go in my morning coffee since I am a flavored coffee drinker and can't give up the habit. Not a bad replacement for the cinnamon creamer I prefer to use. I haven't tried the cinnamon in the shake yet since I think it may not be a good flavor match, but we'll see.

Well I checked out the Canadian Walmart Supercentre and they don't have any flavor syrups whatsoever except the usual Nesquick for milk. I found a site called Coffee-Authority that sells Davinci syrups at $6.49 per bottle or as low as $4.99 per bottle in quantity. As low as $59.88 for case of 12 mixed bottles.

Shipping for the 12 pack is anywhere from $35.80 (3-5 day) up to $132.39 (1 day) for UPS.

Cruisin'!!

Yep, booked a cruise. We ended up on a different one since the original one I was looking at disappeared from their deals (and now we paid $300 more. Oh, well). It might not be a tropical cruise since we leave from NYC, but it gives me something to look forward to and something to work towards. My motivation seems to have disappeared!

I have a headache today so I might skip my CVS stop tonight. Or not.

Smiley - you enticed me yesterday to hunt for more syrups..I found at We sell coffee .com was probably the best deal the BIG bottles were $4.25; shipping is a pain no matter what - cause they are glass bottles and are heavy...check out that site - I ordered 6 more flavors: Irish Cream, Vanilla, French Vanilla, Chocolate, White Chocolate and Almond! The big bottles from this site are cheaper than the smaller ones at Walmart, plus theres SO many more flavor options!

Meg - I'm SO excited for you - a cruise...aahhhhh!!! Did you see the Extreme Couponing show on TLC? OMG...Those people have it BAD!!! I'm enjoying the way I'm couponing - and I'm making a small stock pile, but nothing like what they are doing!!! I think their show should be called "Extreme Couponing leads to Hoarding"!!

10 LBS GONE!!!!! Today was my official weigh in day and in one full week I am down 10LBS!!!!! How fantastic is that???? 5 more to my mini goal and I reward myself with a mani/pedi. I can't wait.

Kristikins- what is an extreme couponer? people who clip too many coupons? I saw a show once on TLC about "sweepers" (people who play for sweepstakes a lot) and that show gave me the creepies. These people had so much stuff they didn't need and cluttered their homes, all for the thrill of a deal. I love a deal, but I love my uncluttered home more.

Meg- I am jealous of you. I LOVE crusing. And even better, you leave from NYC. Are you planning to spend some time there as well? So much to see and do that would be an awesome trip!!!

Camper - Extreme Couponing on TLC was about these 4 people who pretty much take couponing to the NEXT level! They order coupons from the internet from couponing sites (and pay a fee for the handling) but they get thousands of coupons that they request. One girls house had 3 rooms taken up by her stash and an entire wall of toilet paper. Another girl goes dumpster diving for the disgarded coupon inserts from the Sunday papers and a guy they showed has turned his 2 car garage into his own grocery store. He bought 1100 boxes of total cereal for $150 (they were free, but he had to pay the taxes on them). He has over 1500 sticks of deoderant...1500 sticks they estimate will do the average person 150 years...REALLY...does he NEED that much deo??? It was NUTS! I've heard about people stock piling - and I do stock pile to an extent (stock up when it's on sale) but these people act like there will never be another sale on that item...CRAZZZZY!
