October was a horrible month for me, I gained 4 ish lbs, spent 2 weeks sick, still not 100% better. I seem to have spent the last couple of months in the 90s and I'm really getting sick of it. Even got the new gym membership but then I got sick and couldn't use it. Need to kick this month into gear. I'm also very appreciative of the fact that Thanksgiving is gone already for us Canadians. No goal this month, just going to see how it goes and do what I can.

I'm up today, no real surprise, I indulged a little yesterday, and today, so we'll see what tomorrow brings. Back on track as of dinner tonight, but I did munch on some chips during a big lunch meeting today.

Tonight is the Fair and tomorrow is my favorite restaurant. I have cut my calories the last couple of days. Hopefully there won't be too much of a negative impact. I don't plan on splurging at the fair. It doesn't seem worth it right now. I do plan on taking a bite of a couple things, though. Hopefully my planning will work. If not, maybe it just won't hurt so bad. :lol: Last night I was trying to think about the last time I splurged on something. I think it was Easter. Before that was Christmas and Thanksgiving Day.

Good Morning Friends!

I am happy with the scale today. I didnt make it to the gym last night because I have a tooth issue happening. My jaw hurts and the pain is radiating down my chin and up the side of my face. Yep, it's awesome. :lol: Thankfully, I have a dental appointment today. :crossed: that it goes well and they can make the pain STOP!

I was 100% on plan yesterday and will be again today especially since I cant get to the gym til Wednesday.

Just wanted you guys to know what's going on with me. I will BBL for personals. Gotta get ready to leave!! :)

Hello Ladies,

I'm not back but a good friend sent me an email yesterday telling me I need to check in ... :)

I think I have been scared straight. I got on the scale on October 29th/30th and it said 170.2. Ladies I do not plan to ever see that 7 behind the "1" again. My throat started to hurt like you wouldn't believe (from the huge lump that was in it). :cry: I was on my way to work and I wanted to cry :(. I decided then I had better enjoy what I ate for lunch (my break time is from 2:30-2:50a.m.) So I had a 1/4lb hot dog on a white bun (only ate about half didn't taste that great), a cake donut, and the edges of a 3 inch sugar cookie.(dumb I know but I don't want to slip into my own trap again) I didn't dare get on the scale after that. I did get on this morning though and was very happy to see 167.0 the 7 was in the right spot. :D. A friend said to me that it's a shame how we lose a little weight and decide to eat what we want and think it's OK we'll do better tomorrow, not really giving ourselves the needed enforcement to put the snacks down and keep on doing what has worked and allowing ourselves too often to snack ... at first I thought, well it won't hurt every now and then and it may not for some (but I am the one that got the kick). I also told myself that I will eat right tomorrow. Well now I know what she was saying because I fell into my own trap and I wasn't happy with my result. It was very easy for me to snack but the eat right tomorrow didn't come. My clothes were not getting tight but from all of my off eating and slacking off I saw a tummy pouch that I had worked so hard to get rid of and it appeared like I just snapped my fingers, but no snap to make it go away. I will get close to my 160 goal this month. I know I can, I know I can!! Well thanks for listening to me beat myself up, I need that beating bad.

I know my eating hasn't been great but it hasn't been horrible either. This better be lack of proper hydration cause Im one unhappy camper.

I am however, going to the gym on my lunch today. Its been too long since I've felt well enough to do it or even had the time with this work drama. I don't feel bad either that I just don't care that I will be unreachable for an hour . . . its my hour damn it!!

Ok, rant is over, I'm going to finish eating my oatmeal at my desk grrrrrrr

I am down 0.4 to 195.9 today. What eating a proper dinner will do for you? I absolutely didn't make it to the gym yesterday, I just had packed far too many things to get done in one day. And if I'm being a little honest, as a baseball junkie I didn't want to miss the World Series when there was potential for a champion to emerge yesterday and they did! Yippee, go Giants! :D

I was supposed to go to the downtown office today, but I started thinking about the time I would get home and the fact that I have a French assignment due tomorrow and making dinner and how would I fit the gym in there? So I made the executive decision to work from home, again and that way I could make dinner during my lunch break, do my French and go to the gym before hubby gets home, that way I won't have any reason not to go. It's been too long since I've had a decent workout (and 4 hours of walking around the mall doesn't count, although I did burn some good calories).

I haven't done personals in soo long because I've been so caught up with work, but I'm going to try:

Mama Congrats on your 12s. The wedding cake you made was absolutely gorgeous, I loved it. Is that what you do as a profession or is that a side interest?

Love Girlfriend, I have missed you! I absolutely understand the need to beat yourself up sometimes, but now you know what you're doing wrong and you can totally pull yourself out of this rut. I have faith in you! How's the new job going?

Thanks. No, I don't do cakes for a living. Sometimes I think I would like to, but it really is stressful to do wedding cakes. I only do them for friends and family. I always get asked if I do them for a living and when I say no they usually say "you should." This is the second wedding cake I've done this year and I did an anniversary cake. Where I live you can't legally bake at home and then sell unless you have a separate, health inspected kitchen. You are only allowed to bake and take to fundraiser-type bake sales twice a year, too. The house I live in has the original 1964 oven/stove and doesn't bake very well (and is small) so I baked this cake at the bride's church and the one earlier in the year I baked at the bride's parent's house. I think it would be fun to own some sort of bakery (but how smart would that be for someone with a weight problem? :dizzy:)

I have a good feeling this month is going to be good! :) I am ready to get into the 180's! I have been on plan and exercising. I am struggling with getting my weight lifting in, so I have added them in while walking on the treadmill. I know I need more than that, but I still feel my muscles working a little harder when I powerwalk with the weights, so it will have to do for now!

My biggest issues are Saturday and Sunday! :( I always end up adding a pound or two when I am at home. I really need to work on that and be mindful of what I am eating, for sure!

Looks like we got a few newbies on our thread! Welcome! I hope you all benefit from daily weigh ins as much as I do on this thread! I love the accountability this place gives me!

Love - My water I'm already back on track with for today anyways, its easier for me to drink water at work I'm noticing, then again the coffee is just gross, I'm not a fan of tea or hot chocolate so what other options are there :p

Kukkie - They have apparently hired a new person at work WOO HOO. Hope it's true anyways :) As for the smoking, I'm not even going to pretend that i've been doing well, I was doing really well for a while, then came to work and realized teh nasty little attitude I'll pick up when i'm nic-fitting is not going to help anything at work. I had the BEST reaction from the worst phone call today, it's so bizarre. Had a 'fight' I suppose youd call it about something out of my control, of course that made the other person pissy, which made them yell - Im not one to accept being yelled at, ever. Though, i've noticed that somwhere along the way after I had my son I lost that confidence I always had to speak my mind.
WELL . . . . that sure changed. I spoke my mind, in an adult way and made it clear there was no reason to be rude, be upset thats fine, don't try to make me feel like crap because of it.
Im actually surprised that I'm not livid, then again maybe I shouldn't be, I used to be the type that would be mad for 5 minutes then get over it and that was that. Now, I seem to be back to that. I spoke my mind, I let him speak his and let him know I didn't appreciate his tone or words.
I've found that condfidence, the drive and the fight that I used to have and so many friends admired. DAMN I missed it and WOW it feels good to have that switched on again.
That was a long ramble . . I'm just excited and determined now :carrot::p:D:D

.6 gain for me today. TOM showed up about 5-6 days early today...that was quite a surprise, but also explained quite a lot about my mood and my cravings over the last few days. Ooooh Halloween is tough. I can't just throw out the chips and candy, and I can't eat them either -- I'm being extra generous with how much DS can have so that they will all be gone sooner.

Vixsin -- Tooth pain is the worst. I hope your dentist was able to do something for you today to bring you some relief.

Rennie -- I'm so glad to hear from you, I was missing you. Don't beat yourself up. We all mess up sometimes, and this is a long journey, who could do it without ever falling off the wagon. Please be as kind to yourself as you always are to others. :hug:

So I went to the dentist today and things went well. Turns out I have an infection in my gums and it was abssessing at the spot where it hurts the worst.:eek: So I got an RX for antibiotics and Tylenol-3's. So after I popped a couple of those a little while ago, things are better. :p My mouth doesn't hurt as much and honestly I don't really care right now!!! :lol: Thank you for all of the well wishes. Looks like the rest of my teeth get to stay in my head. :)

We went to the Fair last night. I did try to estimate my calories. I have been trying to eat less calories the last few days and I upped my workouts. Yesterday was the last day of TTOM, so by my weigh in, it looks like I got rid of some water weight. Tonight is my favorite Japanese restaurant. I know I will go back up because of the sodium, though. We'll see. I'm working my plan the best I can.

Calories for yesterday: 1985 + Morning Joe

Weigh In: 186.4

Down: 1.4 pounds (new low)

Good morning everyone!!

up .9.. this is so frustrating :headache: I eat clean everyday,exercise everyday,always watching my carbs,drink enough water and don't even use salt any more but the scale won't show all my hard work. :( this must be some deep down hard fat cause it seems like it's gonna take a bulldozer to move it :lol:I know I'm losing inches but i want to see it on the scale :cry: I've been threw this before but each time it never gets easier. My goodness..all I'm fighting for is 3 little lbs and it's taking forever to get'um.I'll just stop thinking about them.Thanks for letting me rant guys,sorry.BUT..I will Fight On!!! :sumo:

Ona Thanks, but tomorrow it will turn around and bite me in the a$$. :lol: I know I need to think positive. :lol: I'm working it the best I can. Sometimes I think our body has to take time to adjust to the weight loss. This could be what you are going through.

Another quick update from me.. things are still crazy over here, BUT we had our huge head office visit at the store yesterday and it went well, which means that stress is over! I am still juggling work and helping my grandma unpack, she's been really sick so I've been trying to help her as much as I can. Life is pretty stressful - other relationship problems too, HOWEVER I am taking tomorrow, not answering the phone, not going anywhere.. nothing, just staying home to clean (we have company coming on Tuesday) and be alone. I also hope to catch up with all of you tomorrow too :D

I have a good feeling this month is going to be good! :) I am ready to get into the 180's! I have been on plan and exercising. I am struggling with getting my weight lifting in, so I have added them in while walking on the treadmill. I know I need more than that, but I still feel my muscles working a little harder when I powerwalk with the weights, so it will have to do for now!

My biggest issues are Saturday and Sunday! :( I always end up adding a pound or two when I am at home. I really need to work on that and be mindful of what I am eating, for sure!

Looks like we got a few newbies on our thread! Welcome! I hope you all benefit from daily weigh ins as much as I do on this thread! I love the accountability this place gives me!

Ona: You sure can do it! I for one have been battling the same 5 pound range for about 3 months now, and yes it's frustrating but think about our "old" selves--we would have given up easier, fluctuated to higher weights, and just really veered our train WAY off the track. Sometimes not losing is not a bad thing! It just means we are working on others areas such as gaining muscle mass through exercise, figuring out the portion controls and tweaking the levers that make our bodies tick. Hang in there! You and I can get to where we want shortly :)

Vladadog: October was rough for me too, but hopping back on board this train is always a great step in the right direction for November! Yay for us!

Kristi: 1 more pound!!! So awesome, congrats!

As for me, had a major whoosh today! Lost 2.8 since yesterday so I'm now 191.6. Once I get into the 80's I'm going to keep going this time!! Before, I would get there and then have all this confidence and say ohhh you can go off plan. Not this time!! I see how frustrated I am with the 90's now (a year ago I would have killed for them!).

Just a quick post from me - I'm finally doing in-person interviews for the internship position I mentioned a while back. All day, just had a chance to breathe and eat my lunch, almost 3 pm. Eek!

196.3 today, so up the 0.4 that I saw go bye bye yesterday but I'm okay with it, because I finally FINALLY made it to the new gym yesterday :carrot: and worked by butt off, so probably just water weight... I hope... As a side note though, 3 different people have asked me about my weight loss today, one was the same that asked me a few weeks (maybe a couple months) ago, which makes me wonder if I've been losing inches instead of pounds. Because I didn't think I had made any progress in the recent past.

Ona Well, 4:30 is not good when you went to bed at 11 PM. :dizzy: I don't know why I woke up like that. I plan on going to bed earlier tonight and hopefully I don't wake up earlier than than my alarm clock. :lol: It will probably take me a couple days to get rid of the sodium from the food last night. Hopefully my body will be back on track after that.

178.6 down another .8 today. Didn't hit the gym yesterday at lunch, more work drama go figure - but today . . . I don't care, I'm going.

I've realized something interesting, the fire in me to keep going is rage and entitlement. For the last year and a bit I've been WAY too passive . . . with everything and everyone. That's not me at all. Im an all in person.
There are things I can't control that cause chaos, but instead of letting that chaos get to me knowing I can't change it - I'm focussing on re-directing that energy to something positive.

FUNK anyone who tells me I can't have or do something.

I love this place :) :) :) Just thought I'd throw that in :D

It's Saturday. Hard to believe it's here already. Seems like just yesterday I was dress shopping but it's been 2 months. I am headng to the airport in about 4 1/2 hours. I'll be loving on grandbabies in about 12 hours (even if they are asleep :) ) I am hoping not to do too much damage to the weightloss while I'm gone but I'm not gonna worry about it and I will just pick back up when I get home.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I am not sure how much I will be online while I'm gone. I was gonna take my laptop but I decided against it.

We went to Sea World yesterday - it was stupid hot and, despite sunscreen and staying in the shade as much as I could, and guzzling water all day long, I really feel like I was thisclose to heat stroke. Really, we finally left because I was getting light headed and had a bad head ache and felt like I was going to throw up. Everyone else was hot, too, but it was hitting me really badly. Add that to what I can only assume was the saltiest meal I've ever eaten in my entire life and the fact that my feet and fingers are all swollen - well, I'm pretty sure that extra lb is entirely water.

It's about time! :) 2 lbs down! I really want to see 180's and I have been really, really good on weekdays staying OP with food and exercise. I am biting my lip being patient in the scale movement, so today made me pretty happy! :D

My husband just told me that we are going to have dinner at a friends tonight. I am not ready, I didnt plan on this, so I hope they will have something I can eat and not gain. I don't want to be seen as rude if I don't eat too much of the dinner. They are Turkish and oh man! I love Turkish food! NO BAKLAVA, NO BAKLAVA! :)

Angie- I know how hard that is! I really had a hard time when I separated from my kids Dad. I wasn't married - thankfully! But it still really hurt and the indignity of being cheated on is what really got me. You sound like your head is in the right place! I am so glad you are focused on yourself and your DS! It's a good thing airport food is so expensive or i might be really tempted to do some stress eating. i was told by a customer service rep that my dress could be hung in the closet on the plane and not count as a carry on. The lady working the gate said too bad, only 1st class gets to use the closet and the dress counts as a carry on so she said I will have to shove it into my (already full) carry on or not take it.

Well that's just bad customer service all around IMO. What would have been so hard to say "Normally that is reserved for first class, let me see if it is full to capacity and try to get your dress in there"

So the flight is full and they have too many carry ons so they asked people to volunteer to check their carry on and get priority boarding, so I did. That got me on the plane much quicker and meant my dress counted as my carry on and as soon as I got on the plane I said to the attendant "they said you could hang this up for me" and she said "no problem." Hopefully the next leg of the trip will work that way too.

Mama: Sorry you are having airline issues on your trip. Just be confident and have more of a "I'll tell you how it is" approach. I fly 9-10 months out of the year, and I've noticed the gate agents try and exhibit some sort of self proclaimed power, so if you can just stand your ground, the stewardesses are typically more accommodating. I'm platinum on Delta, and the gate agent insisted that they no longer did standby for earlier flights. Are you joking!? So I called the hotline and got right through, got put on standby and just smugly gave that gate agent a nice smile when she checked me in.

Aimee -- I asked my DH to move out back in July, and it finally happened in August. Not an easy decision but one I needed to make and long overdue. Once I made that difficult change and realized that it was right and made me feel good I wanted to make more changes, so I took on weight loss. I've also made some attitude and habit changes at work, and I think things there are going really well too.

Leah - thanks :hug: It was the right decision for me, so I might as well focus on what's working about it, right? Congratulations on your 50lb milestone!! You need another banana in your signature :)

Akelly -- Thank you :hug: Yes, I can't stop thinking about all the cute clothes I can buy next spring :) :) I have a bathing suit now that I love but didn't fit well this summer, it's going to fit perfectly for our trip to Disney in December though :D

Well the dress and I arrived safe and sound, however the suitcase they had me check at the beginning didn't. It got left in Atlanta. They said it might be here tomorrow around noon. The only positive is they have to buy you a change of clothes and after losing a total of 70 lbs I really needed new underwear. I shopped off the clearance rack and got a pair of jeans, size 12, and a nice blouse because the boys and I are having our pictures taken together tomorrow. I also got a pair of jammies, socks and the undies. :)

My daughter and both boys met me at the airport. Micah saw me from far away and came running yelling "oh ma, oh ma." It was awesome. He ran into my arms. It was so cute.

Well I better get to sleep. Thanks for all the well wishes. I am getting online on my phone so it's not so easy to do personals. You guys are awesome.

I went to bed early last night and got 10 hours of sleep! It felt really good. The scale still hasn't settled. I guess I'm glad I "watched" what I ate and did extra workouts, etc. How bad would things be if I didn't? Although I think the impact was minimal and most of the gain is water.

Angie I know for a fact that I am allergic to my multivitamin. I put that back in several times and had reactions. Last week I decided to try blueberries again. At the same time, I decided (not thinking) to add garlic to my spinach and mushroom omelet every morning. I had another major reaction. My whole food multivitamin has blueberries and garlic in it. The bad thing, is that I don't know if it was the blueberries or the garlic. Why didn't I think before I started with garlic? So basically, again, I don't know which one is the problem. That has been another issue I have had in the last week with my weight. I had another allergic reaction. I didn't mention it on here, though. What's so frustrating is that when most people have a reaction to seafood, peanuts, etc. it's immediate. Mine is not like that. It's like it has to build up over a couple of days. Then once you eliminate the allergen, it takes another week or week and a half to get over the reaction.

232 even this morning. I expected an upswing. I'm SUPER pumped that it's only .8!! :cheer2: After losing 5.6 lbs since Monday, I expected my body to rebound at some point. I did notice that my calories were significantly lower at the beginning of the week due to the tooth pain. I think I jolted my body a little with those few days of low cals.

What is my goal for this weekend you ask? To lose or maintain my weight. I want all healthy meals this weekend. I have been doing pretty good these past few weekends with no major slip ups. I'm hoping for another one.

Not enough water, not enough eating and when I did eat it was too late to be eating. The result, I'm up somewhere between 0.5 and 1 lb - I bounced between the numbers on the scale this morning, so I'm taking the higher weight. My fault, I know. Have to do better. Worst possible day to do it on. Today is a major festival in my culture, it's Diwali, which is considered the most important festival in Hinduism. Essentially, it means lots of eats and in true Indian fashion, lots of sweets. Oy! Hubs and I are going to do prayers with his parents in the evening and then off to my parents for prayers and celebrations (including dinner) with them. So at least, I know dinner will be something good and knowing my mom she'll modify for me in some way. Portions and water will be my motto for the day! Fingers crossed.

Thanks Vixsin and Onami for the encouragement. I fell off plan and fell hard. It was just one bad meal with desert, including chocolate with it's poisonous (for me) caffeine (Tuesday was the only day calories were over 850) but it clobbered my forward momentum. My goal for next week is to get back down below where I was last week and regain my forward motion. That will largely require MOTION.

I have to get back rolling on my treadmill. I think I've figured out that a big part of my pitty party is feeling wimpy from having missed my vitamins. I just took todays. Perhaps if I'm more careful with that I'll keep my head in the game better. I need those B vitamins for energy! Keeping the energy levels high keeps the mood high; and that helps keep me motivated.

Last night I was in danger of giving up. I did have a snack, but kept total calories to 838 for the day. This morning I had to dig through my closet to find some pants that weren't about falling off. That was a HUGE help in getting back on track.

Coon Thanks, she really is my rock and my number one supporter when it comes to my weight loss. A few years ago when I did LA Weight Loss, I was still in school, so had a crazy schedule in addition to working a lot, but my mom said to me, if this is what you want to do, then we'll make it happen. All she asked of me was to create my weekly eating schedule and she'd measure out all my portions and cook them the way I needed it done, so that I'd still be eating properly and losing weight despite my brutal schedule. I loved her for it then and I love her even more for it now that I'm not living at home anymore. She really made it so easy for me so that I wouldn't have any excuses.

So I called the airport to see if my suitcase was in and they said sorry, check back in two hours and maybe it will be on the next flight from Atlanta. I called the 800 number to see if they could mark my bag as a priority and she checked the computer system and said my bag was sitting in claims in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Had I not called the 800 number it would have just sat there until someone figured it out and sent it on. I tracked down the number for the Chattanooga airport (Delta here and the customer service people wouldn't give it to me). I called and got an actual person who went into that office and said "yep, I have my hands on your suitcase." I said "it needs to be on the next flight to Atlanta and then on to NC." He said he was going to put a priority tag and an expedited tag on it and would take it personally to be loaded on the plane. Soooo.....hopefully we will have my suitcase around 6:00 pm (and making the 40 minute drive to the airport to pick it up).

Once again thanks to everyone for the support. I'm loving the babies and getting ready to go get our pictures taken together. I will post ball pictures as soon as possible.

Guys! I think I may have figured out why I have gained the last two days, even though I've been eating on plan, drinking my water, and exercising! And why I was grumpy with my daughter today! Why my hair has been disgustingly oily, and why I want to shove Snickers and pretzels in my mouth, two fisted....

I may be starting my period!

Seriously - you don't know how awesome this is. I have PCOS, and haven't had a period since April - and have only had ONE period since I had my daughter in July 2009. I was prescribed Provera at the beginning of October to kickstart my period, but I didn't want to take it yet, because I knew if I continued losing weight I might start on my own, and I didn't want the bad hormone swing. But I just started spotting! Eeeeeeek! I'm probably the only person here who would be this ecstatic about starting her period!

I live about 3.5 miles from work and I've been walking to and from everyday. I need exercise to be kind of mindless otherwise I can't make myself do it consistently. Thing is - I also got my period 2 days ago and I've been so exhausted. The scale is 5 pounds up from where is usually is and I'm feeling all sorts of distress. Weight loss is so slow that it seems the effort to lose is so overwhelming and futile. Is it really worth it? Can the weight really come off through walking 7 miles 5x a day and eating about 1400 calories a day?

I hate to think all of the restriction + slipping up from time to time = staying right where I am now.

Sorry, I'm just sad to be at the bottom of the mountain. I've always been a healthful eater but exercise -never-.

Right now I just feel overwhelming knowing I'll probably have to change everything and force myself into a different way of life rather than naturally losing weight with ease (although slow) and having fun.

I rushed home last night after work and squeezed in a quick run! Otherwise I would have skipped my workout and I am trying to exercise M-F without fail!

So after last nights meal, darn it, I am up. On the positive, I was a very good guest AND I did my absolute best to stick to OP stuff. Although I did have a piece of this AMAZING Turkish desert. Just one though! :) I know I will be back down. But this is where discipline comes in because it is Friday and I need to remind myself that I need to be very careful this weekend AND to exercise on Saturday, so that I can keep up the momentum!

I am so behind on some work things, so I will have to go without doing personals. Just know that I am thinking of you all and cheering every success you all have and sending out virtual hugs to any set backs.

Hello everyone :dancer:
Returned from a completely manic whistle stop tour of the UK. I was good, infact very good with my choices, and walked like nothing else. Find I am down 0.4 on the scale this morning :( very disappointing, because I felt that I deserved better. We were sat in the car for around 9 hours yesterday, including a 2 hour traffic jam where we moved 2 miles . GRRRRRR. So I guess it could be water weight because my legs were very swollen last night.
Feeling very down- the meeting I went to was in Westminster, near the houses of Parliament. I went to meet with my employers who have given us all illegal contracts. This means at the end of the year I will be without a job :nono: It is a job I love and one which I have excelled in. It was not a nice meeting, and was very stressful because we had to travel to the uk and fight our way around London. I feel so much anger for them and the way they have treated me and the many others who have taken legal action against them. It also took four days out of my week off, and today I feel exhuasted and emotionally damaged by the whole experience.
On the upside my brother and his girlfriend were bowled over by how I look. In the past few weeks my body has really begun to change and I do, for me, look quite small :carrot:
I also bought some clothes, all in a size 16 uk (size 12 US). That was great ! I bought a size 14 pair of jeans (Size 10 us) just to see how long it takes me to get into them- I'm aiming for the ski trip in January for those :D Last year when I went I was in a 24 uk ( size 20 US)
Sorry this is so rambling. I am so churned up and fed up about my job I almost lose sight of the positives in myself.

A positive for me is that the scale was very kind to me. A negative, I didn't start back with the progesterone cream this week. It looks like TTOM is starting again. The progesterone makes you retain water and I was in the midst of my allergy reaction. I just didn't want to deal with anymore of that. Also, I was noticing I was having some emotional days. One day I was weepy all day and other I was very sharp and aggravated with everyone. This is unlike me. I decided to take a break from the progesterone and see if maybe my hormones have regulated any. I guess it will take time for it to regulate off the progesterone. :( Nothing is ever simple for me. :lol:

starbrite I'm sorry to hear about your job situation. Especially since it's a job that you enjoy. :hug: I always feel that when a door is closed another one is opened for you. Now you are available for something even better to come your way. :hug:

We had a get together for my local mommy forum that I run at Buca di Beppo, since one of the ladies has a husband running in the marathon this morning (he needed to carb load, I guess). I was totally concerned going in about how to eat there, since most everything is sold family style, and finding something that I could eat that my husband would want to eat would be a challenge. But we just ended up ordering a salad and a cheese pizza - I ate most of the salad for dinner and 1 slice of pizza. So I was able to turn a potential gorge-fest into a fairly on plan night! :carrot:

Checking in late today, but still checking in!! Was down another .6 this morning to 188.2 :) Was MUCH better today than the past 10 Saturdays; ate a healthy dinner but I did have some chips and salsa as an appetizer with friends. Regardless, those chips and salsa were the only off plan thing I had, so I'm not going to cry about it. If that's the only bad thing I do on the weekends, then I've already made so much progress compared to Sept/Oct!!

Vixsin: Just like you I'll take my .6 and run!

Diana: Amazing loss! I knew you'd snap back to your old self once that dinner made its rounds ;)

Kristi: Awesome job with the will power!!! Eating more salad and only 1 piece of pizza...simply wow. I admire you for that. My 2 weaknesses are Italian and Sweets. I can eat so much pasta and so many various sweets/candy. I'm sure I will always have a love for those foods in the future, but have to work on building my "moderation" muscle!! Kudos to you for having a strong one :)

Ona: 4.5 miles in this crazy cold weather we are having!!! (I'm in GA, so this cold front GA/FL is having is definitely crazy!) I noticed that when I started running/jogging, my scale didn't always go down, but 3-4 weeks into my new workouts people started noticing my weight loss like crazy! It's like the running/walking tones the body and I lose belly fat, and people think I've lost 25 pounds when in reality I had only lost maybe 10 since the last time I had seen that person! Great job being a warrior!

Star: Congrats on the 2nd goal met!!! You are rocking it this month so far! 5 pounds gone! I'm killing it too; must be something about November lighting a fire under us since the holidays are so close. I think I'm trying so hard to get down so my clothes can be cuter than last year AND I can have a little wiggle room for the parties and not feel as guilty :)

Angie - Sounds like one positive change lead to another, I'm very impressed with your courage! I can't even imagine how hard that conversation must have been, my parents were divorced when I was young and I've always been in awe of how hard it must have been for my mom. But definitely a positive choice for her too. The 42 pounds lost is nothing to sneeze at either ;)

Alright, I did it! I got on the scale this morning. Up 3.3, putting me at 259.0. Could have been WAY worse, and I'm determined not to let stress get the best of me! I was off work today which was nice, however I went to my grandma's and helped her unpack and organize for 7 hours - we were both SO exhausted by the end of the day. I finally found a curtain rod I liked, and so I've been busy hanging curtains tonight too! Bed will feel SO good :D

akelly,yeah,it's pretty nippy out but with layers of clothes on and once i start moving faster,with my music on..it feels good!You did and excellent job yesterday.:cp: it's just a matter of pushing ourselves isn't it? and sometimes for me even getting mad..cause i want the food but know how it'll set me back and the next day i'll be mad at myself.So i just get mad cause i can't eat stuff :lol: but the madness passes :) and i find something else healthy that's satisfying. Oh,sorry about the bulldogs in the Fla/Ga game.would you believe I'm a Bulldog fan!:)

Aimee,40 degrees out is cold to me :lol:I like cold weather,it's the wind blowing i can do without.Glad you got on the scale,facing your fears and moving on..great!! Diana - Oh, its rough. ROUGH. I was up 3 times last night taking care of things - very very heavy. That is the only unfortunate thing about not having a period for 6-12 months - once it comes, its bad! I'm hoping that it doesn't hang around a really long time, and that once its gone it comes back on a regular basis!

I'm down a teensy bit today, but pretty frustrated with myself this last week. I've been fooling around with the same few pounds and the reason is that I haven't stayed true to my plan. I found some excuse to have a little cheat nearly every day -- it's got to stop. This week is my week, on plan all the time. I'm going to go hop on my treadmill to start off on the right foot.

Hey, believe it or not we've put up nearly all our Christmas decorations, my DS asked if we could put up the tree yesterday, so we did, and it also gave me a chance to sort through some stuff in our storage room. Today I put up the outside lights. Just a few things left to do, but I would say we have officially launched the Christmas season in our house!

Ona The only medicine I take is my Thyroid meds. I will have to take that the rest of my life. My thyroid is deader (is that a word? :lol:) than dead. I do take supplements to improve my health, though. Even at my highest weight 356 + I didn't have to take any medicine. I guess I've been very blessed

Diana: 185!!! Sooo great!!! I've been watching you and your journey since August and to see you hit your goal is awesome!!

kristi: Sorry TOM is heavy, but soo glad that your body is getting itself back on track. I used to be very irregular when I was heavier in the 250's and 240's. Once I hit the high 220's my TOM came back and has stuck with me every month since then. Blessing in disguise!

Aimee: Glad to see you back and good for you for getting back on the scale to see where you "stand" :) That takes a lot! Lord knows I've been there many times! But the difference between those that lose the weight and those that entirely give up is getting on the scale daily/weekly and continuing to battle!

Angie: Christmas!!! WOOOHOOO!!! It is my FAVORITE season by far. I sometimes feel like Buddy the Elf with how much I smile :) Yay for getting on the treadmill!

As for me, down .2 today--not much, but a loss is better than a gain, and they keep adding up so I'll keep taking them. Also hoping to have a BM (TMI I know!!) since I haven't gone in a few days. Hoping that will help me lose a little bit.

Down 1.4 to 182.6 and a new low. I figured out that my gain and water retention were not entirely from getting dehydrated walking around Sea World in the heat - it was also PMS. AF showed up today and I had a huge drop. I'm starting to not mind AF so much :lol:

Eclipse Thank you. Great job on the 1.4. I don't think I am going to make any more goals right now. It seems like when I make them, it makes things more difficult. That could be a mental thing though. :lol: I am going to keep working my program though. ;)

Once I am under 185 I plan on buying some jeans and underwear. I think the baggier pants kinda make me look bigger. The baggy panties are not falling off, yet, but they are getting aggravating. I'm thinking I will buy some new bras at the end of the year. I have all the adjustments (band and straps) as tight as I can get them.

Man, my laptop died last week and I didn't even bother going to my desktop this weekend (still sick and didn't want to sit in the basement lol), I feel like I missed a ton!

Ona - awesome job on 100 lbs! you rock lady :)

Aimee - I may be back in the 260's too, I didn't weigh this morning (running late), but my weekend wasn't fabulous. Wasn't horrible, but I ate pizza on Saturday when we were out at a friend's house. UGH!

Everyone else - sorry I will catch up later. What I skimmed through though were good losses!

I am still congested, still coughing, totally grossed out bloated in my lower tummy. No BM in god knows how long, no wonder right? Really need to get running regularly again, it helped a ton in that department.

Even with my mom's healthier versions of food for me, I just ate way too much this weekend, totally off-plan. I kept up with my water, but still ended up weighing in this morning at 197.5 - must do better. I desperately want to be out of the 90s by the end of this month and I know I can do it, I just need to be more disciplined about how I go about it.

Ona Congrats on your 100 lbs lost. What a fabulous achievement.

Kukkie Yes, I used to take generic, but I am doing a lot better on Brand. I was up to 250 Mcg per day, if I remember correctly. Now I am down to 200 mcg 5 days a week and 224 on Saturday and Sunday. Confusing, I know. LOL If you don't mind sharing, what is your dosage? Did you ever take generic?

LOL I had to figure out the conversion because we go by mg here instead of mcg and I was totally confused. But I'm on 0.25 mg which is your 250 Mcg. I've never taken generic. I think I took a generic bc once upon a time and had a bad reaction to it, so no more generics after that. How long were you on the generic until you switched?

Kukkie I think I took generics until I started going to my current Endo. I started going to her in '08. I was diagnosed around '93 I think. She does not believe in generic thyroid meds.

Awoke at 4.30 am, was determined to go back to sleep.....so determined that I kept myself awake :dizzy: I truly wish I could do something about this. I have no trouble going to sleep, but am awake at 4.39 am almost every morning. I've checked for alarms, noises etc but it seems to be random. It's driving me CRAZY !!
Stayed the same today - not surprisingly my cortisol levels must be sky high !

starbrite Sorry about the waking early. If you couldn't go to sleep, I would suggest melatonin or a sustained release melatonin. Sustained release would stay active so you can get at least 6-8 hours sleep. If your mind is racing so you can't sleep, maybe try Holy Basil or Ashwagandha. They also help with cortisol. Worse case solution, go to bed an hour or two earlier. If you still wake at 4 something maybe you will have enough sleep. :hug:

I feel productive this morning. I'm working from home today and really, only because I didn't want to put the effort into doing my hair and makeup this morning. But, instead of being lazy, I pretty much decided to clean, so I tidied the bedroom, made the bed, the laundry has been separated and ready to go in the washer, the living room has been tidied and the sofa throws are folded and organized, I put away laundry I've had folded for almost 2 weeks (I don't mind doing laundry, it's the putting away part that I hate and I really don't know why), my home office area is decluttered. Woo hoo! Now I'm ready to work, with the hope that my productivity will extend into my professional life today.

I'm also down 0.5 to 197.0 - still making up for that weekend, but because I worked from home today, hubs took my car so I can get in a workout without having to worry about picking him up from work. Yippee!

what a freakin whielwind of a weekend. Started off with a gain to 179 on saturday, but that morning i went to my first spin class . . .Holy crap i love that! then came the 60th wedding anniversary for my grandparents, family came in from out of town . .. . if you've ever seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding . . . that's my family and how we celebrate right there. To top it off, TOM decided to make a visit and he's making up for being nice last month :p
Up to 181 on sunday. Monday I didn't bother weighing in at all, but this morning I'm back down to 179 so hopefully i'll be done with TOM gain this time and loose a little more.


Shyla - no worries, keep on keeping on and those 250's will disapear . . . throw down with them!!

Aimme - Ditto to you . . . a lot of people would throw their hands up, say Im out and be done with the amount of stress you've been dealing with. Be PROUD of yourself for jumping back on that scale and doing the things you need to get where you want. We all know how hard that can be and it takes a strong strong person to get back on track when the easier thing to do is give up. Good for you :hug:

Coon - LOL, I am excited indeed, I know for me, I need to workout to feel better and as much as it sort of sounds like a cop-out, I haven't been able to set a regular schedule with getting to the new gym, even though it's 5 minutes away because a lot of my time is organized around when I have to drop off or pick up hubby from work. In another week or so, he starts a new schedule and he's back on afternoons, so he won't get home til 11 pm. As much as I hate that we'll have less time together, it's good for me in that I'll finally have some time for me! At least for the 6 weeks of that schedule anyway.

Star: TOM is so quirky with people! Some lose, some gain. I am a gainer too :(

Coon: Hang in there! You are a recipe for success and I know you can get the scale moving in the right direction soon!

I wanted to share some NSV's that I recently had.

A couple weeks ago I went through the bank drive through and the teller said 'OMG you have lost a lot of weight!'

I thought this was really funny because I have been going through the drive through and seeing her every week and she just noticed that I lost weight.

Last week DH and I went to eat at a cafeteria. We go to this place at least ever other week, if not ever week. The waitress came up to the table and told DH that he had a new wife. Then she looked at me and said that I look great, I am a perfect weight and not to lose any more.

I find this so funny. How can I be a perfect weight and still weigh so much?

I just went through the bank drive through again. A teller that takes care of me when I go inside came over to the window and said 'You are so little! When did you get that little?'
I just laughed and told her that I have been losing weight for a while. (yeah since 2008 and people are just starting to notice. :lol:) The thing that got me was that she called me 'little' more than once. :D I think I need to go to the bank more often. What do you think? :D

I'm actually starting to get worried that I'm going to have a problem crossing the border soon. I live in Mexico, near the US border, and go up to the US usually a couple of times a week. When I got my SENTRI pass (that lets me bypass the hours long line to drive from Mexico to the US in favor of a line that rarely takes longer than 5-10 minutes), I weighed more than 100 lbs more than I do now. Aside from that, it was pre-blood pressure medication - and when my blood pressure was high, my face was really puffy and weird looking. I don't want to pay for a new pass and not have it for the time it would take to get a new one - but I'm worried that at some point they won't think I'm me :lol:

I have to get back on track. So I decided to start tracking and needed to start weighing in daily. So I started today!

9th: 251.6

Goal is to get back to 245!
