Default Deli Meat

I was wondering about eating deli turkey or ham - there are a couple of reduced sodium varieties at Sam's Club that don't have any added sugars or carbs. Is this a no-no or okay to do every once in a while? Thanks.

I believe Ham is not allowed due to the high amount of fat in it. I believe turkey is ok. Beware: a lot of deli turkey includes fillers. If this one has 0 carbs it probably doesn't. Also, deli meat is known to be high in sodium so be sure to drink plenty of water with your turkey.

The phase 1 sheet says ham is allowed.

I found some turkey that was 0 carbs and it was labled as "natural". I will check on the brand. It doesn't have fillers and no MSG. It seems ok to have as long as it is not the only meats you eat.

I eat deli turkey all the time! I like it rolled up with yellow mustard. I'll generally take a roll up with my veggies and packet for lunch. Getting the meat that is presliced and packaged lets you check the nutritional information and the fact that it is of a uniform size means that you don't necessarily have to weight it once you know what an ounce is! For example, I know that 2 slices of the turkey I get is 1 oz.
