South Beach Diet - Changing my mindset and making that leap!

I am not sure about anyone else here but I came to South Beach from Atkins. (And ******* too but that's another long story) and the hardest part I am having trouble with is not worrying about "natural" carb counts. So if it's truly whole wheat bread I shouldn't worry, right?
That the biggest thing we are watching is fat grams? That I don't care about the carbs as long as everything is natural?
Yes, I've read the book. I still track everything on The Daily Plate, I'm Type A personality so that stuff is important to me :)
Can someone let me know what I'm worrying about? I would appreciate it!
Edited to add I find it hilarious that diet name I mentioned is a bad word- as it SHOULD BE!!!

:welcome: to The Beach, ladywyyn! I'm glad you've read the book before getting started on this plan.
As long as your bread is 100% whole wheat, it's fine. But remember, no bread, fruit or other grains until Phase 2.
Although we do watch our fat grams on this plan, we mostly concentrate on avoiding sugars, white flour, white pasta, white rice, and any refined, processed foods. Carbs are fine, as long as they are healthy carbs.
Good luck and I look forward to hearing from you often!

Thanks for the reply!
I've actually been on SB for almost a month now so last week I graduated myself to Phase 2. Which is worrisome for me for the above stated reasons!
I still find it surprisingly easy to do but I still worry :D

It has been a few months since I have read the book but if I emember correctly breads like rye and sourdough were better choices than white bread but obviously whole wheat bread is the best choice. I love sourdough so I opt for that with my eggs in the morning since I looooooooove (sarcastic) eggs now.

:welcome3: to the Beach :) I did the same thing, tracking everything while I was losing. Now I track a little less, though still log my food every day. That's only because making good choices has become a habit and I know what works for me (not to say I never make a bad choice ).
Here's an article about choosing breads (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/sbd-frequently-asked-questions/59303-phase-2-how-choose-breads.html). I'm not sure about the brands because companies often change formulas, so make sure to read the labels. the basic information about bread choices is really helpful though.
Hope you have time to join us in the Daily too :)

Welcome! Personally, I struggle with bread. I tend to crave it and overeat it. Even the healthy stuff. But that's me.

Any thoughts on the best tool to track SBD? Preferably something that has a BlackBerry app? I have gone through about 10 different options in the last few weeks. Nothing is quite doing it.

I use a Blackberry Storm myself but I've not found anything user-friendly for it yet. So I track using thedailyplate.com.
