Well, we have had a few snowfalls up here in the last couple weeks ... but yesterday we actually had 2-3 inches! It actually looks gorgeous!
Can't stay long ... son and DIL are here and got to get coffee on .. will be back later on I hope. Just wanted to drop in and say hello.
Love you guys,

Hi guys.
Just a quick note as I am off to Michigan to get the things out of my Dad's garage since we sold the house.
Hey Sylvia, yes you sure did start a new thread and beat old CJ to boot. LOL Good for you, now you know what you will get don't you? YOU BRAT BRAT BRAT BRAT BRAT! There doesn't that feel good to join in the BRAT PACK? HA HA Well that's what you get for starting the new thead. HA HA No really good job on starting it, and it went well didn't it?
CJ-Poor thing, sure hope your head cold gets better soon. Have lots of fun with you son and DIL. Sure wish you were in Royal Oak and Ken and I could see you and Dick, but maybe next time. Snow already? Wow no snow here yet in Indiana, but it probabaly won't be too long till we get some.
Take care everyone and oh ya Jo, glad to have you back with us and don't worry we all have our slumps and you sound like yours is a thing of the past. Glad you posted and don't stay away again so long, got it? Or else, wow I wouldn't really ever hurt you, but if that works why not? HA HA My gosh you have sure went through alot, between your eye surgery and the biopsy. I will be praying for you that the results come back fine. Keep a positive head and it will help you get through this.
Talk to you guys when I come back, we will be staying at Chrissy's for a few days and than on to Ken's family on the other side of town to see them. His sister is undergoing really aggrasive Chemo for breast cancer and is not doing well. She has been through so much this year, first about 4 months ago her husband had an anurism and suddenly died and now this. They are treating her with chemo now, but in March she still has to get her breast removed regardless. Poor thing no one should have to endure all she has to in such a short period of time. So we will see her and try to cheer her up.
Love you guys, Sharon

Where the heck is everyone? I am in Michigan at SIL Chrissy's house and decided to get on her computer and check out if anyone else had posted after me and saw that no one has. So come on guys post and let us know how you are doing. :crossed:
Well things went fine here so far, we got everything loaded in the U-Haul and unhitched it and have it in Chrissy's back yard till we leave tomorrow to go to the other side of town to go see Ken's family. I am having lots of fun with Chrissy, and her daughters Emily and Ellen, never have had so much fun as when I with that bunch. We just laugh all the time. Chrissy is doing pretty good, she has a new job now. No longer working in the hospital as a nurse, but is on the Ask A Nurse phone line now helping people who call in. She only works 3 days a week now and really likes doing this and helping people out who need it. She has kept herself busy too, today she is working the poles working for a friend of her's whose husband is running for Judge. Gosh it has been 3 years since my brother, Rick and her husband was murdered and she is doing such a great job trying to built a life for herself without Rick. I think she is such an amazing woman, so strong, still keeping her sense of humor and trying to stay focused on what needs to be done. I don't know how she does it, but her daughters are a big reason I know. They have turned into such beautiful girls, so funny, loving and thoughful. They are both in college going to Wayne State University in Detroit. Emily wants to be a speech therapist for the elderly, to help people who have had strokes learn to talk again and Ellen is going to be a writer and I have read some of her papers the way she writes is wonderful. Yes they are all doing great and I keep tellling her to come back and post here again, but she is so busy going going going all the time, maybe one day she will surprise all of us and pop in. I hope so. :flow2:
Have seen my Dad in the assisted living home as well and he is doing good as well. When we went yesterday to take him to lunch I had brought him one of those plastic pumpkins just filled with candy and my gosh his eyes lit up when he saw it. He just loves candy and has a couple of pieces every day and when I come back the next time it is all gone and I always bring him more. Hey at 85, who cares? He still has his Lymponia/cancer, but so far it hasn't even bothered him, he still doesn't want to have treatment/chemo ect, but it is his decision and he may live a good many years if it is slow growing. So all is well with him, I love seeing him and treasure my time I spend with him. :lucky:
When we went to the house yesterday to load the stuff up that we had stored in the garage, I called the guy that bought it and told him I was there and he said to go on in the house and gave me the lock box combination. It is going to be for sale and he completely gutted the house and so far had painted it and he is doing all sorts of things to it before he sells it. It will look beautiful I think. I took a last look around and had a little cry  thinking of all the wonderful memories I had there growing up since I was 4 in that house and it not being my families anymore. But hey life goes on and nothing is forever is it? Everyone's life changes and we move on so to speak and I still will have those beautiful memories always.
Well good talking to you and hope I have some company soon, I am getting soooooo lonely here. :grouphug:
Take care guys and talk to you soon.
Love you, Sassy Sharon :goodvibes

Hi Ladies……
I’m back!!! I missed everyone. I was gone for about 10 days…. Only saw Joanna for a couple of hours or so…. She looks great and is doing just fine….
We had a wonderful vacation doing the Elvis and the blues thing in Memphis and then onto Nashville where we had fourth row seats for the Grand Old Opry…. Had a wonderful time. My dad saw his first play and didn’t want to go as he felt it was kind of stupid to go watch someone pretend to be someone else…. It was Tammy Wynette’s life story… he lived through those years himself and didn’t see any since in it at all…. Well…. He praised it and thought it was one of the best things on the vacation… and then he fell in love with Minnie Pearl’s cousin at the General Jackson showboat and then the next day saw her at the Grand Old Opry…. He really liked her playing the Minnie Pearl role. He had his picture taken with her and praised her too…….. A good time was had by all.
I’ve been back about 2 weeks now…. Just trying to recoup from the vacation…. I have been so tired lately…. I go to bed early, wake up for work and keep slapping the alarm clock… Ugh…….
It is slow in here…. But if we all just keep coming back and posting a little bit… I haven’t taken the time to thoroughly read all the posts since I’ve been gone… but I thought….
JUDY/BLUNDER was a goner for sure……. Hehe…… you scared me into posting….. hehe….
KRISS I did see you were a newby and posted….. I hope you come back too… you are doing great on your weight loss and exercise program…….. keep up the good work…:bravo:
JO/JELLO good to hear from you too….. good luck on the test results… I know it can be a pain having to wait so long for results…. Keeping my fingers crossed :crossed: for you and saying a little prayer for you.
CJ/QUEEN You poor thing…. A bum knee and a cold….. drats… take care of yourself and hopefully you’ll be feeling much better before long.
WHO GOT THE NEW DELL DUDE? I read it but couldn’t find it again to acknowledge it…
SASSY SHARON Hope things look brighter for you now... and I miss you....... lets take it one meal at a time.... I think I fell into my halloween candy...... face first!!! :o
I’ve got to get back to work so everyone take care…..
Hugs to all Carolyn:grouphug:

Hi Ladies……
I can see not much has happened since I was here last Thursday. Everyone busy, busy, busy, getting ready for the holidays? :yikes:
I was kind of feeling down in the dumps :( and feeling really lazy on Saturday and even canceled plans with friends on Saturday and my aunt ended up calling me and her and my cousin came and spent the evening with me….. we had a nice dinner and I was thinking of taking them somewhere else for dessert…. We were to full for dessert so we decided to head for the casino :lucky: downtown Detroit…. My aunt doesn’t get a chance very often to do this as she lives in Jackson. We had a wonderful time spending our money and then afterward we took a tour of Detroit. My aunt had not been down here in 4 years and I don’t think my cousin had ever seen Detroit at night….. so we headed for the Renaissance Center, Greek Town, Mexicantown, Fox Theater, Comerica Park, Ford Field and the old Tiger Stadium…. An old school where my aunt had gone to grade school was still in use and that was some 55 – 60 years ago that she went there…. We were quite surprised to see it still there. We had a great evening…. We swung by the two Coney Island Restaurants that Detroit it known for, the old sight where J. L. Hudson’s used to stand which is now where a new building is going up……. History in the making….. Detroit is coming back full throttle….. so much for feeling kind of yucky and lazy on Saturday because I had a great “unplanned” time…… hehe….
Now its Monday afternoon and I am ready for a nap as I’ve just had lunch. Actually it’s a really quiet day here at work, no management, no attorneys, just the secretaries are here as there is an office meeting for the entire day off site….. so…… I plan to do as little as I can get away with as my work is pretty much caught up…. Nice planning on my part eh? Hehe…….
I haven’t gained any weight nor have I lost any….. not good but not to bad for not even trying either way….. I’ll take a “no weight change” over a “weight gain” any day of the week… hehe……
I am going to have to go for now…. Everyone take care and be good…..
Hugs to all…… Carolyn :grouphug:

Howdy ladies!:twirly:
I know I haven't been in here for a while, I've been quite busy. I've been taking care of my Mother in law and driving her around. Unfortunately, I didn't get the Tiffany job  I wanted that job. Pretty sad when I can't even get a Christmas job. Hopefully, I'll find something. I'm meeting with a temp agency tomorrow so hopefully they will have something.
Well, on Friday I went to my dietitian....you all know how much the dreaded weigh in is....well, I lost FIVE pounds!!:cb: I've lost 18 pounds since being laid off in February. I've also joined Curves for Women. I love that place....my own little sanctuary. I feel that it has made a difference. :strong: My husband thinks I'm nuts...I drive 35 minutes to go to Curves but wouldn't go up the street to the gym.
Well ladies, I've got to run and get my stuff ready for my meeting tomorrow.
Love to all-

Just checking in to say hi to everyone! Sorry, been fighting this terrible cold and busy doing other stuff. Have not been on the computer much (if you can believe that)! Right now the cabin is filled with DUST DUST DUST! We have been putting up knotty pine paneling and since Dick is cutting the wood inside (can't do it outside in rain & snow) well, what can I say? We are almost done now and I can clean it all up later today. The dust has not been too kind to my allergies - achoo! I am finally starting to feel "human" again ... getting rid of the nasty ole cold!
Sorry I am not addressing you all personally - accept to say to the "missing" members (you know who you are) GET YOUR BUTTS BACK IN HERE!
Well - off to do my dishes ... oh by the way -- I have all my christmas shopping DONE! Just a few more SS to get ... and wrap as soon as we get home which will be after Thanksgiving.
Sharon: Call me or I wil call you - we have some "catching up" to do.
Love you guys,
CJ

 Hello Ladies!
Where is everyone?
Well, I just popped in for a quick hello. I'm having a fabulous day and am on :cloud9:... Today was my weigh in and measuring day at Curves.... I LOST 11 INCHES,7 POUNDS & 1.30% BODY FAT!!! I'm doing the happy dance!:cb:
Ladies, we are all in this together...whether we come in here to post or not. I know you are out there....hopefully. Remembr that we are all human, we all go through those "funks" and we all get through it. We are lucky enough to have this support group. God brought us together in this forum for a reason...we all have a purpose in each other's lives. I hope you all come back even if it's just to say a quick "hello" :grouphug:

Slyvia - WTG!!! You go girl! You should be doing the happy dance! You have earned it! Keep up the good work. I'm not in a funk .. just have been busy ... have been trying to get myself back to journaling every day - not just now and then! I too wish everyone would post here more often .. don't understand why they don't - it doesn't matter whether there is 2 of us - 5 of us - or 10 of us .. it all equals support!
Come on guys - don't just "lurk" .. post too ... even if it's just to say hello, like Slyvia said ... We have been together much too long to let this thread die ... it only takes a minute to type a few lines - this thread will never get "busy" again if you all wait for the other person to post!
I'll be here tomorrow ... and I do hope I see some familiar "faces" in here!
Love, CJ

YOOOOOHHOOOOOOO (echo) I know you're out there....I can hear you breathing!!:D Don't really have much to say but, I thought I would pop in for a hello.
I've been sticking to the Curves expercise program. I guess now that I know it works, it motivates me even more. I'm going to a "mini" reunion with my ex-coworkers. This should be fun, I haven't seen many of them since I was laid off in February.
Well CJ, it looks like it's just you and me. Good job on the journaling. My nutritionist wants me to journal but for some reason, I have a hard time doing it. That's good CJ, make them all feel guilty!!! Hopefully they will all start posting!
Well CJ and all of you lurkers (won't name names...you know who you are!:D) I'm off to make some dinner!
Ciao!

Good evening Slyvia - and all the "lurkers":
Just came to check to see if anyone posted. Thanks Sylvia - looks like your right - it's just you and me for now! Well, that sure makes a support team, right?
I would love to try curves, but don't think I would stay with it ... when we get home from the cabin (end of the month) I am going to try really hard to get on my treadmill every day .. still pampering my bad knew, it is sloooooooowly getting better. At least the swelling is down now.
Well, went to the laudromat and played "slots" but didn't win anything! lol So when we were done with our laundry we did go to the casino - still didn't win. Well, I did, but put it all back in the machine - and then some!
OK ... off to do my journal for today ... was a bit high, but at least I journaled!
Good nite Sylvia - talk to ya tomorrow ... good nite all you lurkers! Shame on you all for not posting!

GOOD MORNING!
I feel the shame!!!!!!
I've been sooo busy. Guess what I'm doing? I'm making quilt blocks! I got this bug to do a quilt so I went to WalMart and bought all the supplies and got myself started. The pattern I'm making is called "Chevron", pretty simple, a good one for a beginner like me. Almost ready for the fun part, putting it together with the batting and the backing. I have no idea what I'm doing but I got information online and I think I can do it! I remember my mother making quilts when I was a kid and making it look so easy. Believe me, it's not that easy!:dizzy:
Okay, I posted, now back to work!

Hello Ladies....or should I say lurkers:devil: I know, I'm bad! I just came in for a quick hello.
So nice to hear from you Judy! Sounds like your quilt is going to be beautiful.
CJ- Hope your knee gets better. Pretty hard to do anything with a bad knee. Sorry to hear about your trip to the casino. You should have won some $$$$$ ..... maybe they will so bad the next time you go in that you will win some! :) Wouldn't that be nice.....heck, if that really happened, I would be in all of the casinos in Las Vegas to get my money back!
Well, I hope you all come in here soon! We miss you!!!

Well, good morning! A big Welcome to Senamay! I hope you will come back and post with us often so we can get to know you and give support on your weight loss journey. As you can see our group is a little slow right now - some of us probably are in funks and some of us are too busy! I'm hoping they get back in here soon tho - so thank you for posting with us!
Judy - Judy - Judy! So we shamed you, eh? Good! lol Hey girl, you are doing a quilt? Way to go! I've always wanted to do a quilt - just never took the plunge. I'm sure it will look just gorgeous when you are done! You'll have to take a picture and show us. But ... save out a few minutes a day to post here! I don't want to shame you again! hahahahaha
Slyvia: Hey, we got one lurker to post - how about that! Hope you are having a great day - I journaled again yesterday .. have to go post it now.

Howdy!
Welcome to our group Senamay! As CJ said, this group is a bit slow at the moment but, we are very supportive of each other. You will love it here.
Now, here comes the bad news....I'm PMSing and have been eating, eating and eating some more. :( Here I am doing the :cp: happy dance for losing those 11 inches and 7 pounds and I think I gained most of it back in the last three days {sigh} Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Like my nutrtionist said, "don't beat yourself over one bad day. Learn from it and do better the next meal." I think I'll take his advise. Maybe it's the fact that I threw out the rest of those oreos that my husband brought home the other day. Talk about PMS dangers! :sorry:
Howdy CJ- Yeah, we got a lurker to post. Hopefully the rest will post soon as well. The holidays are approaching and the "Thin Group" version of Christmas caroling won't be the same with just us two. How does your knee feel today? Better I hope.
Well, I'm off to bed. Tomorrow is my ex work reunion so that should be a lot of fun. A the good ol' days of the dot com era. Of course we are meeting up at a bar...tequila :T: anyone? I'll try to be good! ;)
Have a great day!

A friend of mine sent this poem to me. Thought I would share with all of you.
"Twas the night of Thanksgiving,
But I just couldn't sleep,
I tried counting backwards,
I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned-
The dark meat and white
But I fought the temptation
With all of my might.
Tossing and turning,
with anticipation,
The thought of a snack,
Became infatuation.
So, I raced to the kitchen,
Flung open the door,
And gazed at the fridge,
Full of goodies galore.
I gobble up turkey,
And buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots,
Beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling,
So plump and so round,
'til all of a sudden,
I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling,
Floating into the sky,
With a mouthful of pudding,
And a handful of pie.
But, I manage to yell,
As I soared past the trees...
"Happy eating to all-
Pass the cranberries, please".
May your stuffing be tasty,
May your turkey be plump,
May your potatoes 'n gravy,
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious,
May your pies take the prize,
May your Thanksgiving dinner,
Stay off of your thighs.
and most of all-
May your Thanksgiving be blessed!!
Hugs, Judy

Hi everyone - it's me again. I just got done talking to Sharon and they are on their way to Michigan for Thanksgiving. She wanted me to post and say hi to you all and to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving. She hasn't been able to email or post cuz their computer crashed!!!!!!!! Ken is fixing it .. hopefully when they get home after Thanksgiving he can get it up and running again and she'll be back! Of course, I will be missing her again as we are still up at our cabin and won't be coming back until next week.
Sharon: maybe we will be able to connect at Christmastime or maybe after the new year - like I said, Dick and I were talking about coming out there for a couple days. We miss you guys!
OK ... HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone! All you "lurkers" better get in here soon and start posting - :^: (this smiley says "pretty please")

Well ... I guess everyone got thin and doesn't need support anymore, eh? Well, I DIDN'T, and I DO need support! What has happened to our group??? No one seems to want to be here anymore - What has happened to all the closeness we always shared? Some of you always mention that only a few post .. sooooo you just lurk and don't post! Well, that is one reason why there is only a few posters - the rest are lurking! Has everyone just lost interest in this group? What is the problem? I really miss you guys - I feel like I lost a bunch of great friends! We had a couple new posters recently, but I don't blame them for not coming back - no one is here - no one seems to care!
I CARE!

Hey CJ-
It looks like you and I are posting at the same time! At least we are posting. I CARE TOO!!!! I guess it's up to you and me to keep this alive. I know in the past I didn't post that often because I felt like I didn't have anything to contribute and I realized that something was missing in my weight loss adventure (if I call it journey, I may never get to wherever I want to be). I realized that I'm not alone and that we are all in this together. Having the support of people who are not judgemental about my appearance and what I do does make a difference. It's not all about what you eat and exercise, it's an emotional roller coaster as well and that's the beauty of this group (when they come out of lurking). We are each other's therapy. And it's a lot cheaper than a Psychiatrist!!
Hang in there Chickie, you and I can keep this going. I know it's sad because we remember what it was like in the "good ole' days" but just remember that if we bug them enough, they will come back! :D:
Take care-

Good morning Slyvia and "the lurkers"
Slyvia: Thank you for you sweet reply .. I was ready to throw in the towel with this group and even close it down! I don't want to do that but if no one is interested any more what else can we do? OK .. I will hang in there - you are so right - you and I can make this a support group. I know Sharon will be back as soon as she gets her computer fixed. I'm sure a few of the others will eventually return. We're not dead yet!
Senamay: I wish you much success in your weight loss venture. Thanks for the invite to the Christmas challenge .. I may check you out. But, I cannot desert this group yet ... we have been together for tooooooo long!
Sharon: Tell Ken to hurry up and get that computer back up and running! And Dick and I are sure looking forward to seeing you in January! Yippee! Can't wait. In case anyone is wondering, we are going to take a trip to Indiana to see our wonderful friends Sharon and Ken!
This will be my last post from our cabin for a while .. we are closing down and heading for home. It is sooooooo cold here .. 4 degrees - and another 4 inches of snow dumped on us. I don't mind it tho -- it is very beautiful! But need to get home - have to get ready for xmas (gifts wrapped, house cleaned, tree up) my daughter and family are coming home for xmas from Kansas and hubby does not know about it .. we're keeping it a SURPRISE!
Well, have to shut down and disconnect .. am taking my computer home with me ... not good for it to set here in the cold, and believe me, this cabin gets cold when the heat is not running.
Hope to see some "smiling faces" in here soon!
Slyvia, it's you and me baby, for now. Talk to you soon!
Love, CJ

Helloooo (echo).....I know you are reading this.....I can hear you lurking!!! Don't put your head down.....(laying on the guilt) You know you feel guilty. That's OK, I guess you lost all of the weight you wanted to lose and now you don't need us anymore. That's great! Please let us know how you did it! At least let us know what we need to do! At least stop "pop" in for a quick hello!
