Talking Hopping on counters!

I was on the phone with my brother last night, and without thinking I hopped up on our kitchen counter. Just hopped right up there! I haven't done that in YEARS! First, I couldn't! Second, I'd have gone through the whole mental game of wondering whether or not it could hold me.

When I was a kid, my mom hated for me to sit up there, but I sat on the counter ALL the time. I find it very comfortable, maybe because I'm short. It gives me a little height.

Weird thing to be so happy about, but holy toledo, I jumped up on that counter without even thinking about it and it was just as easy as it used to be.

Don't you love when a NSV sneaks up on you and you can do something you hadn't even realized that you'd stopped doing?

Yes, I think the unexpected NSV's are the best! I really hadn't thought about the fact I hadn't done it. My son does it and it makes me smile (the opposite of my own mom's reaction). I think I chocked it up to being a kid thing.

Katie, I don't know why either.

It really is all the 'little' things that make losing weight ... dare I say it ... fun! Things we don't even know about (like concave armpits, haha), or things we'd forgotten about - like jumping on counters!

Congrats on your NSV and feeling like a kid again.

I love it! I find myself sitting indian style alot and being totally comfortable. It's those little things that make me so glad I took control over my life.

Happy counter sitting to YOU!

Yep, indian style was starting to make my legs go to sleep, or the skin pulled too tight around the knee. Now, no problem. I am one to pull my legs in close to my body at any opportunity so I'm really glad to be able to do this comfortably again.

It's the littlest things ONLY we notice that are so inspiring. Me? I don't touch both sides of my tub any more. Just more and more space!
