10lbs by Christmas?
So I'm thinking I should hit a mini-goal, since I'm just starting out. I'm not sure what my over-all goal will be juuust yet.
So I figure 10lbs by Christmas. Sounds good, maybe? I have school and all that jazz to take up my time during the day, and homework. So I'm not sure how often I'll get to work out. Eating isn't a problem really except for weekends. But here's what I have in mind.
-Work out on equipment we have in the basement (Elliptical, treadmill, weights and other resistance stuff) at least 3 times a week for 30mins.
-eat low fat cereal in the mornings, veggies as snacks, etc.
-Work my butt off in gym (67 or 97 mins every day)
-do a 10min equipment-free workout on the weekends
These are just some ideas, I don't really know what's going to happen, haha.
Feel free to tell me if my goal seems easy/hard or if I should workout more/less... etc. I'd really like some support too... I'm honestly not sure if this is gonna go over like I want it to. hehe...

do you have experience working out, i mean is your body used to it? or will this be a shock to your system?
is it difficult for you to exercise consistently? (i can totally relate)
try to think of problems/challenges you may have juggling school and such. are you a mom? young college student? you need to come up with a plan. schedule for daily studying and what you will do. schedule time to write papers, labs, any extra projects for school. plan ahead! dont be like me, i procrastinate everything.
when you know how much time you have each day for everything- be sure to be flexible in areas. too packed and you'll be stressed. then make your w/o plans. then back up plans. and a back up for your back up.lol.
also, its a good idea to freeze some meals for when you have no time. or a healthy recipe you can make super quick.
when you have to study all night for finals what will you do?
whaf are your trigger foods/situations? decide how to handle those realistically, so you dont gain wt.
i think its good your goal is relatively low. i dont think you will have time for exercise to be first priority. so losing is a battle. but you can do it. walking to classes, taking the stairs,it all helps. good luck in your goals!

Thanks for the input Katy!
Experience working out... hmm... I suppose I have experience, and my system won't be shocked since I do get decent exercise in each day. Like you said, walking to classes and whatnot, it's a lot of exercise just doing that, and we don't have an elevator for public use, just 4 flights of stairs... oi. :P
I'm not a mom and I'm only a High School student, but I still have studies and whatnot. My after school schedule works like this, basically:
4:00-11:00 7hrs
1hr- friends/me time/whatever the crap before dinner
30min-1hr for dinner
By this time it's 5:30-6:00, and I do school work/studying if there's anything to be done, if not, I'm free for the rest of the night. Literally, haha.
Meals are not a problem, my dad makes dinner when he's home, when he's not my mom and I work together 2-3 times a week to try new recipes, but I can always just get her to work alone if my schedule is taken up. She wouldn't mind.
I don't have the BIG SCARY FINALS at the end of the year in my school- only unit finals in each class. Studying for them won't be a problem and I spread my studies over a week or two, not the night before.
Trigger situations are when my friends buy food from the cafeteria (SOO GOOD) or make a 711 run for slushies... in those situations I'm completely fine so long as I don't bring money with me. Which will be good for me anyway, since I'm always broke.
Sorry for the long rambly post, but I figured I'd organize my thoughts. Thanks for the tips!

I agree with a lot of things Katy said.
I see you are only in High School, so thankfully you don't have to worry about big finals or cooking meals all the time. However, I would like to suggest a few things. For 7-11 runs for slurpees, they normally have a sugar free one, which isn't bad and probably low in calories! You don't have to limit yourself on everything... There is always an alternative. As for buying food from the cafeteria, that isn't always bad if you get the right foods. I remember when I was in high school, they had a lot of healthy choices too. I count calories, I am not sure what you do??? However, if you eat within the right amount of calories, you don't have to take every bad food out of your diet at once unless they are trigger foods. There are times where I have to eat whatever someone else cooks (like if I go over to a friends house for dinner), and I do eat what they cook, but i make my fattening portions small and eat more veggies (most of the time there are always veggies!) than I do the fattening food. Anyway, eliminating everything at once normally contributed to my downfall in the past... Slowly cutting things out was easier for me. I do have a meal once a week that I indulge in (I save calories for it during the week), which really does help me not cheat during the week. Like I said earlier though, if it triggers eating, then don't do it. I have lost 27lbs since Aug. and all of these things have helped me. Good luck!!!

Well it sounds like you are doing very well so I wonder that you need advice.
But here is my advice for a teenage girl trying to lose weight.
Diet
Okay, some important things to remember....
Make sure
you are getting atleast 3 serves of Dairy a day, that should not be chocolate milk.
you are getting enough Iron.
Personally - I would keep free of Artificial Sugars... it confuses your body about what is sugar - and could result in metabolic issues, I have a friend with MS (Multiple Schlorosis) that her specialist think could have been woken up by her Diet Coke habit. So I contradict the ladies above who say go for the Sugar Free Slurpees. I think it's best to just to conquer sugar and sweet tooth now, if you don't conquer now you will still have to learn it one day. My advice - sparking water or Water with Bling is my 'rough day recovery'.

Thanks so much guys!
They don't have sugar free slushies here anymore So either way there's no problem. If I really want a slush, I'll just.... idk... not have one. lol.
Eating from the caf isn't a priority for me anyway, my lunches I get from home are good anyway, and they're decent in calories.
I'll try to get more Dairy in my diet, and I have prescribed Iron pills already so I think I've got that covered? :P Thanks for the tips, I'm feeling a lot more confident about this now.
