I find that making a game of it works for me too
I have a program on my computer that counts calories, fat grams, protein etc. I can even factor in exercise. I like to type in what i've eaten and know EXACTLY how i've done that day
You've probably lost a little more than you expected because you've raised your metabolism
I know once I get into exercise I can 'cheat' a lot more without facing the consequences
I actually feel more 'revved' up.
