I really want to join ww again, but hate how uncomfortable I feel at the beginning... have lots of you done it alone? The closest ww to me is downtown, next to my work, so its not realistic for my husband or friends to go with me if they were to join...
I joined first with my grandmother, and now I attend meetings with my best friend. However I've gone to lots of meetings alone. Everyone's been really nice at the 3 different meeting locations I've been to. It's definitely more fun and motivating to bring a buddy, especially when they hold you accountable to go each week, but it's really easy to make friends at WW meetings.
I've joined WW and TOPS groups alone many times, and a lot of other groups besides. Hubby usually goes with me now that we're both on disability and I don't drive (I don't trust my reaction time and night vision).
In fact, next week I want to join the area writer's group - and I'm a little nervous, because I won't know anyone, and I've never joined an in-person writing group before.
The first time I joined my friend was already attending meetings & successfully losing weight, so I decided to join her. The second time I joined I did it by myself, but did not stick with it. This is my third time & I joined solo once again. The people in my meeting range from about 15-80. I have been attending this meeting since March & I love our group. It can be overwhelming & uncomfortable at first, but just remember everyone is in the same boat as you. Maybe they have a meeting during your lunch break, or one day when you get out of work. You could try doing a weight loss challenge at your work to get coworkers involved also. Good luck!
By myself But it doesn't really matter because when I joined my entire family joined. Not literally but I have informed them so much about WW and I am always taking about losing weight and walking and eating good portions and the fact that I can still eat CHOCOLATE, pizza and cheese burgers and lose weight...LOL
thanks everyone! I'm definitely gonna do it. I'm thinking a lot of other people will also be alone, since all that is in the are4a is either tourist attractions, or offices. So I'm thinking lots of corporate-America type people... there is a meeting Thurasday mornings about 2 blocks from my work. I'm gonna do it as soon as hubby and I are financially back on track. So I'm thinking October... moving 1000 miles is expensive!
