View Full Version : Party time?

I know I'm getting WAY ahead of myself haha, but last night my boyfriend and I were talking - or it might have been this morning, I can't remember. When I'm sleepy my memory goes weird. Anyway, that's beside the point.

He was talking about having a party of sorts when I reach my goal weight/size/shape or whatever. I'm not sure what kind of party he meant. Like a "lets-just-us-2-go-out-and-celebrate" or a "lets-invite-all-our-friends-and-celebrate".

Obviously it's going to be noticeable to people I know that I'm losing weight. If it wasn't, I'd be disappointed. I get that it isn't right now, but I'm thinking that in another 5-10 pounds time, it might start to be noticeable. And then again when I'm down 30-40pounds from where I started, I'd really hope it would be noticeable.

However I know that a lot of people on here would rather not talk to others about their weight loss. I'm have this kind of awkwardness that I think is going to appear like... I don't take compliments well, I never really have. I'm learning to, but usually I say "thanks but you're wrong" kind of thing rather than being grateful haha. So I'm kind worried about how to react!

Another thing is - I want people to notice! I want them to see that I'm making an effort to change my life to become healthier and fitter and have a body that I'm more comfortable in! So celebrating this seems ideal! But then I guess it could make others uncomfortable as well...

I think I've just confused myself haha, and probably anyone else reading this - but anyone got any insights on this kind of thing? I realise that I may have not even worded this so it is a question.. but just thoughts?

I guess it depends on what you're comfortable with. I know I wont be doing anything when I get to goal. Maybe just a dinner with my family or something but I don't think my friends or myself would be comfortable with a big party like that...
Maybe treat yourself to a professional photo shoot and put them on facebook or something so people can comment there?

Also yay you're from NZ! :D

Hey sorry I never saw the response to this post, I think it got bumped down before I got a chance!

The photoshoot idea sounds pretty good! Even if it's just informal and I get someone I know to do it - I am one of those people that pretty much hates photos haha.

And yes, New Zealand! Are you as well?
