Ip Daily Chat - 8/16/10
Hi Everyone!
Just trying to get ready for a new week!
We have been asked several times during the past few months to create a daily chat thread, similar to what happens on the South Beach forum. It is supposed to make the thread load more easily for people on dial up. It should also help people not feel like they have fallen so far behind if they miss a day. Hopefully, as you search, you will also be able to find things more easily.
Let's give it a try and see what happens!
Have a great week everyone!
If anyone wants me to add link backs to anything in particular, PM to me and I will edit this.
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/idea...t-14-15-a.html Weekend chat Aug 14 and 15
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/idea...-7th-13th.html weekly chat Aug 7 to 13

Whoa! New week. Where did that come from?
I asked this question on the alternative thread, but was wondering, of those folks who are using alternative products such as Lindora, what do you think about the fact that some of them have Fructose as an ingredient on the IP plan? I use one alternative product a day, the other two I usually use IP. I have the strawberry, island fruit and berry creams, as well as chocolate and vanilla pudding/drink mixes. I haven't seen any slowdown, but wondered what others thought, and if they thought it could cause a problem? I am concerned about it, but again, have still seen good results with only substituing one a day. I also sometimes only sub the New Lifestyle ready made drinks, which I know are the same as IP.
Would appreciate any advice. I know Melissa, and maybe Bev S. used/are using exclusively Lindora or alt products.
Thanks much,
JC

Wow! I'm so glad you set up the one day at a time thread... I'm totally lost on the big weekly threads.. just can't keep up. Anyways, had my second WI and I'm over the moon!! 15lbs in two weeks and 12 inches gone forever!!! I'm finding IP so extremely easy. My son started a week ago and has 7lbs off. Also my mother-in-law is losing weight easily on this. I am so thankful that the Dr. developed this diet, I don't think he realizes how many lives he is changing!! My clothes are starting to get real loose... what a nice feeling, I have a closet full of my old "skinnier" clothes so I can progressively get back into them

Congrats on such great WI's, Petclerk! I'm with you...finding IP pretty easy to do. I lost my cravings and compulsion to eat during the 3-day jump-start. Have only been on the actual diet since Friday, but so far so good. Have not had the energy surge people talk about, but hopefully that will come. Maybe if I stopped getting up at 4-something in the morning, I'd have more pep during the day.
Very much looking forward to my weigh-in on Wednesday. I'm so tall, though, I have to lose 20 lbs before I start noticing a difference in my clothes. Last year I lost 28 lbs and nobody even noticed I was losing weight until I had lost 25. After a 28-lb weight drop, I went down only half a size. Bummer. Then I gained back 30 lbs. Double bummer.

Not budging ....
I'm a couple days into week 3 and am beginning to wonder what I'm doing wrong. I lost 2 pounds in week 2, and so far this week, the scale is not budging. I follow protocal strictly, my only "add-in" is the Target Market Pantry 0 cal, 0 carb, 0 fat drink mixes.
My veggies consist of broccoli, green peppers, cucumbers, onion, mushrooms and cauliflower and celery. Once a week I may have a couple of slices of tomato or a cup of green beans. If I have a flaw, it's my use of salt (both the provided salt and my own shaker)
I am currently using the omlet, chocolate drink, vanilla pudding, cappiciuno, packets.
I have stayed away from strenous exercise, with an occassional walk or bike ride or gardening.
Am I doing something wrong? Or just have too high expectations? Any help from the seasoned veterans out there would be appreciated.
many thanks!

I can't find any nutrition info on the Target Market Pantry drinks, but just because they are 0 cal/carb/fat does not necessarily mean they are ok. Do they happen to contain aspartame? How much protein do they have? If you could post some more of the nutrition info, along with the ingredients, someone may be able to help.

Oh Don't panic... this happens (well it did for me.. last week with not even a whole pound loss BUT 4 MORE inches!!! I ask to get measured EVERY week so I do NOT get discouraged..
this diet seems to shrink the inches faster than the scale goes down!
I avoid the choc drink myself cause it's higher than the cap. drink in carbs.. or have 1 drink per day and 2 puddings instead, if your not into the soups as a protein packet.. the puddings are almost half the carbs as the drinks, and I am so carb sensitive!!!
I go for my weigh in this morning, and my scale says I am down a POUND only.. their scale is always higher too.. BUT I have to remember I am losing inches!! IT really shows now on me, I look like I lost 25+ pounds and I have only lost 13.. hang in there honey..
and a special congrats to all the gals who had great weight losses!!!
A new week!!! Stay Strong Incredible Shrinking Ladies!!!!!!!!!!!
hugs!!!!!

Great job! Isn't this program amazing?!? I too, am finding myself reaching back into clothes I haven't been able to wear respectably for a long time. I cleaned out all my really big stuff 'cause I'm never going there again! And it feels so good to every now and then ditch another piece that's just "toooo biiiigggg!!"
Have a great day, all!
Barbara
One for every five pounds lost:
WI#1: -8.2 lbs, -19.75 in.
WI#2: -2.4 lbs, -10.00 in.

I don't use products with Fructose, just Stevia. If you saw a slowdown it could be just that, you could be sensitive to it. You could keep with those products, just make sure your overall carbs are still in the right zone for you because I've found that Lindora are higher in total carbs that IP products.

Well, our bodies aren't on a clock so when we tell them to drop weight, they don't necessarily do just that, even with the proper fuel. A lot of people around here weigh once a week because of the frustration of fluctuations, or lack thereof. It can be frustrating to see nothing happening.
You are on the right path. I don't know about your Target drink, how much are you using, and what is the sweetener? You could be sensitive to that sweetener. IP recs stevia based products which unfortunately are hard to find. Some coaches allow Crystal Light, some do not at all, and some only allow the ones sweetened with Stevia. You could switch to plain water with lemon to see if it is the drink.

Hi, Jessica, I already answered this on the alternative thread, but I think I'll go ahead and put it on this one as well in case you didn't see it. I used the Lindora berry and strawberry creme drinks successfully. I didn't worry about the fructose because I was told that all carbs turn to sugar in our bodies. So I just counted net carbs. Try to stay under 30 net carbs per day and you should lose just fine. I also used NOW whey protein isolate, which only has 1 carb per serving, and my substitute pancake mix, which only has 3 1/2 net carbs in a 4-pancake batch. I also had (and still have) a bar every day. Since not everyone may have the same experience I did, you just have to see what works for you.

Sounds like you're doing everything right! Do you still have periods? TOM can really mess with the scale, but the following week should show a bigger loss. Make sure you're getting at least 64 oz. of water every day as well as your supplements and oil. Could it be you're holding weight from constipation and/or water retention? Don't give up so soon. Measure yourself and see if you're losing inches no matter what the scale says.

Hiya Everyone old and new! Wow how the forum has grown - how fantastic!!
It seems like everyone is doing wonderfully on program, I'm kind of jealous and miss it everyday. Today would have been my restart day to get back to phase 1 and get the rest of the weight off so I'm feeling a bit saddened that I will have to wait until after the baby is born and I'm finished breast feeding to get back at it. I suppose at least I know I have a wonderful program to get back to and I know it works like a charm!
Speaking of baby - I'm excited and nervous today because I have an ultrasound to see if we're having twins...TWINS!! Can you believe it? I still think there is only one in there, my doctor isn't sure, and my husband is fully convinced there are two. Being that I have a 15 month old, twins seems a bit daunting... 3 babies under the age of two....GULP!!
Anyway I hope everyone is well, again I will try my best to stay in touch but life seems to be flying by these days and before I know it I'm laying my head down ending another busy day

UGH - I know I'm the worst for getting back to people lately and for that I apologize. My little guy is down to one nap a day which I'm going to have to admit is when I nap too...and maybe get something done around the house - which leaves me with no computer time at all!! Hard to adjust to being that being on the computer used to be my full time occupation lol.
We've told our families about baby, and they are all very excited. I haven't mentioned it on facebook yet because we were waiting to get past the first trimester. After the ultrasound this evening though, if all goes well, I think I'll break the news on FB and let everyone know!
Only my dad knows about the possibility of twins though, my mum is in Europe until this evening so I wanted it to be a surprise for when she came home...either a "hooray it's twins" or a "hooray, here's a picture of baby" surprise...I figured either one would be nice surprise after traveling all day.
