GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there are two of them today. :)
When you understand how something works, that understanding enables you to exercise control over how it goes. Take notice of what's going on with your own responses and you put yourself in a position to take full and powerful control of them.
Step back and watch objectively as you get angry, or become hungry for a snack, or are tempted to follow some course that is not in your best interest. Really take notice and you will see that there is a clear and observable separation between your response and the things to which you're responding. There is no direct, hard-wired connection between what happens to you and what you do about it. That connection is always, at some level, under your control.
Realize that nothing automatically makes you angry, or envious, or despairing. These are simply ways that you choose to respond, and they are completely under your control. Watch carefully and you'll see that nothing automatically makes you eat a bowl of ice cream, nothing automatically makes you say something spiteful. Even when the response has become such a habit that it seems automatic, it is, in reality, still a choice that you can control.
Observe yourself as you respond to the ups and downs of life, and you'll see the enormous amount of control you have over the direction your life goes. The more responsible and intentional you become with that control, the more empowered you'll be to go exactly where you want to go.
-- Ralph Marston
**************
INTENTION INTO REALITY
The moment you have the intention is the moment to begin moving steadily toward the fulfillment of it. Habits, distractions, procrastination and discouragement can stop you if you let them, so make the decision not to let them.
Your desire to persevere can be stronger than anything which stands in your way. Every single moment you have the option of continuing in the direction of achieving what you intend to achieve.
The moments will pass whether you make full use of them or not. They can lead to achievement or to regret. If you're sick and tired of enduring the sting of regret, you do not have to experience it even one moment longer. Always, you can choose to give all you have to all you can be, and what a grand experience that is.
Always you can choose to put the moments to work, to put yourself to work making a difference, making headway, making it happen. Always, you can choose to take one more step in the direction of your goal, and after that another step, and another.
There is no deep, dark secret for turning intention into reality, yet there is every possibility for anyone who is willing. When you put one foot in front of the other, take one step and then the next, when you start immediately and then keep on going, whatever you intend to do will get done.
-- Ralph Marston

Happy Monday Gang
First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian gals. I think I smell turkey. LOL:chicken: (closest thing to turkey on the list)
Lazy weekend. watched alot of football and baseball and just enjoyed DH being home. Cut that stupid grass again yesterday. At least I had a little help from DH. But it was the only exercise I got so oh well. Woke up with a :headache: today. Don't know why. I dreamed all night that I was in labor. :yikes: Now that is a nightmare at my age. Don't know where that came from. Sure glad when I woke up and it was just a dream. :fr: LOL
I feel fat today. Stomach is poochy (is that a word?) Snuck a peak at the scale and was up 1 lb mayble 2. :yikes: So that has me upset. Going to try to not eat any starcy carbs this week or at the most 1 and no eating after dinner. See if that will help. TOM will be here next week. Don't know if that is the problem or not. Got to get back to my daily exercising. Missed too much last week.
Bob, Glad your momis doing better. Glad she is going to AL for awhile. That will be a great help for you too. UT did such Sat along with the CATS. Gave that game away.
Tranquil, Serene is so lucky to have such a good friend. :ange;: You all are good for each other.
Serene, You have had your share of problems last week. Hope your DD is ok. Glad your son is recoverying. Try to get some rest yourself.
Melf, Great going winning the door prize. I guess you could always donate it back for next time.
Rosalie, Is that turkey I smell? Happy Thanksgiving!
Deb, Congrats to Michael and the film thing. How exciting. Really liked the MM today. I have to get in control. Not that i am eating bad, just not controling it like I should.
Fruit, LSU played a great game. Was thinking about you the whole time. Jump back on this wagon. It's coming around. Don't let it get out of control.
Gator, Yes UK played SC. Lost it in the 4th qtr. As always. We gave it to them. So frustrating. But you know how that feels.
Fillise, UGA looks pretty good this year. The SEC didn't fair good this weekend.
Beth, Just take one day at a time. You can do this. Things are looking better already.
Have a great day! It was only 39 here this morning with a high of 60. Fall is here.

Good Morning Everyone:wave:
Just cooling down from my walk. Did the usual 4.5 miles in 50:23. Still too hot out there for my liking.
Well, I am happy to report, as I had figured, the scale finally has taken a downward trend! I got on yesterday and was 130 before walking, and 129 after (I never count after walking though-that's just plain sweat that I loose). Though, this morning, scale was back at 130:shrug: I'm confident it will go down in the next day or so-if not, well, my confident attitude will just stay confident that it will go down soon.
Saturday night at SB went very well:D Michael played right along with the band like he'd played with them before, not like it was the first time. He wrote his own verse to Knockin On Heaven's Door-did really well. He wrote a song the day before and him and his friend Jimena sang it without practice (she heard it when she got to SB and read the words there) and they preformed the song their going to do on Thursday for the Make A Wish Foundation. Then Michael sang a few other songs, hard to hear him at time though, he's not use to a microphone. Many of his friends came to see him which was really nice. There was a nice crowd as well. They set up outside where there's a sitting area and had great speakers. They really sounded great and cars on the street (US1) where stopping and rolling down their windows, people stopping to listen to them. Nice evening.
Sunday ELI and I just spent a few hours together. He had to open the store and had to go back and close it, so he was only off for a few hours:(
This week I have 3 busy weeknights. Tomorrow I have a board meeting which means I won't be able to make chat, unless it ends early. I may make it while it's already in session. Wednesday is OPEN HOUSE at the kids school. How I'll work that, I won't know-2 kids in the same school:shrug: Thursday is the Make A Wish Foundation benefit that Michael will be in, so I'm going to go to that.
Speaking of chat, last week on the chat board we got an instant message that they are going to be changing the chat format. I don't know what that's going to entail as of yet. Will let you know if I hear anything.
I too am getting the pop ups all the time. I have to write SUZANNE a letter anyhow and will ask her what's going on that this is happening so much lately. I esp. HATE the one that lingers!!!!
Want to get in some replies while the board isn't too busy...
JACKK, dreaming of being in labor?:fr: Sounds more like a nightmare to me!!!!! Wonder what a dream like THAT means! I think the word you are looking for for the stomach is poofy? I think may of us can sympathize on that feeling sometime during the month. Porn site pop-ups? Is this happening when you are on this website??? Glad to hear DH is home safe and sound, though duckless. Glad to hear you've settled on a dress, the bridesmaids dressing do sound very classy. Did you find your MOTB dress yet, or an idea of what you want?
BOB, I don't think I've ever seen white sweet potatoes available in my area. Who carries them in yours and about what time of year do you see them? Would love to find some. Yes, now you all can fight over this new bed. What's the latest on your DM? Gotta get her well and walking again quickly, we have a date in January!!! I'm sure SKEETER is missing her terribly.
TRANQUIL, glad to have gotten to talk to you yesterday. Sorry we got cut off, Michael loves calling friends out of town on my cell phone on the weekends, yet, he doesn't go ahead and charge it back up, so it up and died on me. Will talk to you again soon.
SERENE, glad DS is home with you and doing better. Thank goodness it wasn't worse! I called TRANQUIL'S last night, for some reason I thought in a message you would be there but was a day late - oh well:shrug: I will try you sometime this week in the evening-maybe tonight since the next 3 nights will be busy ones. As for DD and the school incident, I'd definitely take it this matter farther if you haven't decided to do so. How long did these girls get suspended for? To people like that, they probably view it as a vacation.
MELF, sounds like you had a good time at your church function. You're a winner in so many ways:D Yes, I do love the garage sales, well, that is, when I can find a great bargain, esp. on something I really want and need and have looked for, that' the best!
ROSALIE, if it's only a week, really, why don't you come stay down here in Miami? I would love to have you come visit and stay at the Detox Dungeon, umm, I mean my humble abode:s: Really, the offer is open. You could take a bus down and then drive back with us to Orlando, stay the weekend and fly back to Canada from there. You have time, think about it. I promise, I won't cook for you!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
FRUIT, sorry to have missed you. Will try you again soon. Good luck today, tomorrow and all of this week (take it a little at a time).
FILLISE, I'm going to e-mail Suzanne about the pop-ups, they are annoying me as well. Okay, I'm not big on football, but those CANES, now that was an ending! Okay, I didn't get to watch the game as it happened, but I heard about it and saw hightlights on the news. Do you think you can come down in January??
BETH, geez, some people can be so lucky! You can eat all this crap and not gain weight? Can't imagine (can sure as heck wish though). If your caloric intake is below what it should be, junk or no junk, you won't gain, but you are probably losing muscle if you do lose, not fat. I'm sure you'll get back on the straight and narrow. Will be happy to give you a call, if I can remember, will try tonight. The reason I asked about your DM is I sometimes do a search on the board for wayward SB posters and months ago saw this post from this woman who was beaming about her daughter and how well she was doing on SB and how proud she was of her. If this is your DM, you are a very lucky and loved woman-she REALLY is proud of you and your accomplishments. That alone should be able to get you back on track. Of course, you should only do this for yourself, but do know that your DM, as well as all of us on this board, we all want you to succeed. :D And CONGRATS to your DM on her accomplishments!!
Well, I'm gonna sign off for now. I have a few things to get done today. If time permits, I will work on the recipe boards. Also, I am going to get in a post with some information about the WALT DISNEY WORLD MARATHON WEEKEND that we have planned in January. I hope you will try your best to attend, you will NOT want to miss being with your fellow SB'ers during this weekend!!!!!
Have a wonderful day, and a great week!

Good Monday morning everyone... Hope everybody had a good week-end. I did such fun things as grocery shopping, making a pot of chili, washing clothes... LOL... I did give away some of my bigger clothes. I need new jeans as mine are really baggy. So I'll plan the first of the month to do that. Also I'm still discovering things I've been eating that aren't right. Can't believe I've been eating SB since March and every once in awhile discover something I can have or that I've been eating that I shouldn't be. This time it was my stone ground bread. So back to the health food store I went and got Eziekle bread I know is right and also found some sprouted wheat hamburger buns and later this week might have me a real hamburger. LOL.. But right now I'm trying to limit my carbs. to get a jump start on my weight..:D
Debilli- I enjoyed your MM this morning and really took it to heart. I think I forget to thank you for working so hard for us at the board. You're an angel!!! Great on the downward trend on the weight... Congrads to Michael on his singing.. Sounds like he's really something to be proud of..
Jack-K-What a dream no wonder you woke with a headache.... Ouch..I'm trying to cut back on the starchy carbs too... sure need to get going down instead of hanging around this 166. So good luck with yours..
Bob-Good luck finding a place for your Mom. Its great shes doing so good...
Well off and running... LOL..

Good Morning Everyone!
It is an overcast but cool morning here in Auburn. Fall has finally arrived!
Feeling kind of sluggish this morning--guess why--I had some sugar this weekend. i can always tell when it is in my body. Ick. I'm really just trying to hang on through the election. My schedule is so crazy that planning is almost impossible. I do want to stay away from the sweets though. If I get stuck, just choose the least evil of the carbs, but no sweets.
Toni--Good for you on giving away the baggy clothes!!!!! It's a great feeling isn't it?
BOB--Good luck on your mission today. I hope it is successful!
Deb--It sounds like you have some really talented Kids! I'd love to come down in Jan for the mini-marathon. I'll have to see what finances are like then--after the election I will need to start drumming up new clients!
Jack-K--What a nightmare!!!!! I've never been through labor myself, but it's not something I think that many women remember fondly--no matter how much they love the end result!
Have a good week everyone! I'll check in when I can!

Good morning all... It is a holiday for me and I am being very lazy. Had a very nice time tis weekend at the film festival on Sun. I didn't see any film star. I am not sure if there were any but There were alot of people. We drove a 1949 Cadillac Limo in the parade. That was fun. I have pic of it and when I get it developed I will post it. Although I still haven't posted the gator pics. I have to get that done. I need to get a scanner so I don't have to depend on my DD. Going shopping today for material so I can start making my DIL's bedding sets for the twins. Not alot of places here to choose from. Will have to do the best we can.
Fillise - It does get cold here during the winter months. It can get down to the teens. Sometime it will snow a cuple of inches too. It hasn't done that for a while. Hoping for some this year as well as lot of rain. You were not to far from where I live if you were going from Bakersfield to Vegas.
Toni48 - I live in California. In the Majave desert about 150 miles from Los Angeles. There is a navy base here which is why the town is here. Otherwise there isn't much more supporting it. There is a chemical plant in Trona, which is where my husband works, which is the other place that employees people for the valley. It is nice here even though it does get hot. It is a dry heat so not to bad. Getting rid of your baggy clothes and getting some that fit will make you feel so much better. I put on a pair of jeans yesterday that I haven't been able to wear for months. I felt so great.
Serene - I am going to have to try the SF lemonade rita idea. That just might work. If so I am in BIG trouble.
Jack-K - You and Serene had the same idea. I am going to try it. I'll let you all know how they turn out. Have you tried the jalepeno's and cream cheese yet. They are the best. Great with the Margaritas!!
Beth2374 - I will write you again. The email will show that it is from ed townsend. For some reason it only has my hubby's name on the from line. I have to figure out how to change that. Glad to here that you are sticking with it . Take it one day at a time.
Melf - Sounds like you had a great weekend. Just like our friends said you all love to have festivals. Did you make any cajun foods? I love the cajun cooking. I should have been cajun. You guys could teach me. LOL!!!
Deb- Sorry I missed your call. I was a nice surprise to hear your message on the phone. Glad your scale has finally move down. I have to evaluate what I am doing. Other than the couple of margaritas on the weekend I am staying good and I can't get the scale to drop below 154. I know I need to walk. Maybe that will happen this week. Can't promise myself though. Sounds like you have a busy house. Sure Hope Micheal's dad doesn't get layed off. You don't need that stress. It doesn't look like I will be able to make it in January. With the Twins due the 8th of Jan, probably will be born in mid dec though, and DD baby is due feb 11, and will be born somewhere the end of Jan. I am not going anywhere. Will have to try the next time.
I'll try to get back later....
Have a great day.....:):)

Hi everyone! I had a wild week, and weekend, but hopefully, things are calming down now.
A good friend's son was getting married, so I decorated the bride's cakes and groom's cake for her. (she was doing most of the wedding arrangements for them, even tho it was her son...) We then headed down to the Valdosta area for the wedding, which was outside. It was beautiful, and everything went great. My MIL lives about 30 miles from the camp where the wedding was, so we spent the better part of the weekend with her. Had a great time! We even caught a family reunion Sunday afternoon for my hubby's grandmother's family. Of course, SB eating went out the window! There was NOTHING legal at the reunion, but I tried to concentrate on veggies and leaner meats. At the wedding I filled up on the marinaded veggies, but alas, I did drink some punch (grape juice and gingerale) and tried the cakes. Today, I am trying hard to be back 100%. So far, I have not had but one indiscretion.
I for one was delighted with Saturday's football games. How about them DAWGS? Woof! Woof! Woof!
DEB: What a pleasure to get your message when I got in last night. I am so sorry I missed you. Funny you called this weekend, when I was being naughty! How did you know? :) Hope you will try again....
I got tons to do, and will try and get back later to post more and read more to get caught up.
Any one know where Gracious is?

I have a few minutes to sit here before the gang arrives for Thanksgiving dinner. I've been very organised to-day, turkey is in the oven, squash casserole and dressing ready to go in and other veggies and salads prepared and tables set. Just came out of the shower and relaxing for a few minutes. I expect by dd and kids to arrive shortly, and my ds and family.
Deb - As much as I would love to come and stay with you, and I really appreciate your offer, I think I had better head home with my family after our Orlando visit in December. Now I may consider returning the following weekend if I can get a cheap flight. I know fares will be quite reasonable by then. But won't make any plans at the moment, will just wait and see. Thanks once again for your offer. Once you make plans for your Orlando visit please let me know where you will be staying, just in case. Glad to see the scale moving downward for you again. Sounds like you had a wonderful evening at SB. Michael must be very talented.
Jack-K - That was certainly a night-mare that you had. I'm not surprised you awoke with a headache. Yes, that's turkey you smell. See my note above. I am sure that was a good work-out you had cutting the grass. I'm sure you will get rid of those two pounds once you get back to your regular exercise routine and cut down on the starchy carbs.
BOB - Glad you found a good place for your Mom. And that's great that it is so close to your home. Will make visiting that much easier. Sending good wishes your way for a good outcome for your Mom.
Toni48 - Isn't that a great feeling to give away those too big clothes.
Gotta run. My dd and kids just arrived.
Marie.

Hi Gang
Getting ready to go home. Going to grill out some cod and fix some veggies for dinner. Then to take my walk.
Deb, Yes that was a nightmare. Don't know what brought that one or what it means. Don't want to think about that. Yes the pron sites pop-up when on on this site (only at home) and any other site you may be on. The problem is the cover the whole screen and you can't get back to where you were originally. No MOTB dress yet. Really want to be down 20 more lbs. I have been looking. I have ordered 2 out of Chadwicks. 1 is going back, pretty, not dressy enough and haven't received the other one. Found one at the bridal shop. A celery color. Pretty dress, just not wild about the color and the price. The outing at SB sounded great. Sounds like Michael performed like a pro. Bet you were beaming. I used to love the open houses at the school. The year I had 2 in there I made DH go to the classes I wasn't interested in and I would go to the important ones. Men tend not to relate what goes on like women can. But I did hate missing some classes. So maybe pick the important ones for each kid if Eli can't help out. Great going on being back at 130. I knew you could do it. You're on your way down.
Bob, Good luck on finding a place for your mom. Glad she is getting better.
Toni, I hope limiting our carbs gives both of us the boost we need. Good luck. Isn't getting rid of those big clothes a great feeling. I surely don't want to keep those around to get back into. Fat clothes, be gone!!
Fillise, You are right. We can't always be prepared. Just eat the best carb, count it, and go on. Just stay away from that sugar and you should be fine. We know what to do, sometimes it just takes us awhile to listen. Good luck.
Red1, What a shame you didn't get to see any stars. Glad you had fun anyway. You are lucky to be so talented to sew your DD bedding sets. I can't even sew buttons on.Let me know about the ritas and then I will make the jalapenos! WTG on the jeans fitting. It's such a good feeling. Sounds like you are going to have diapers everywhere. How exciting.I'm ready for grandkids and my DD isn't even married yet.
Bob, what a relief to find a nice place and so close to your house too. I agree with you on the smell thing. Good job. I hope she likes it too. :grouphug:
BKM, Glad you had a nice BD and a surprise party to boot! I'm right there with ya on that 50, mine's in Feb. That's the last one I'm counting. LOL
Monet, I bet the cake was lovely as ususal. SOunds like a busy weekend. Glad you had fun. I was wondering about Gracious also. Dinner sounds delish. Enjoy your meal and family today.
Have a great evening everyone. See ya tomorrow.

I went for my second interview today at Vanderbilt and it went very well. I should know something soon!! Thanks for your wishes~!!
I was terrible this football weekend!! Had a party here on Saturday for the UGA vs TN game. Had beer-butt chicken, yummy!! I did okay until i dove into the layered mexican dip with chips and ---key lime pie!!! uhhhhgggg, it was soooo good. But, i feel very sluggish now and will have to work it out. I stressed myself over the job interview so i just dove into that comfort food!!
Don't worry, i will get back on the path!!---debyj:D

HiedieHo All!!
Okay, kick back, get a cuppa, and be prepared to read! Or else scroll down and forget it!!!!
I had such a wonderdul time on my vacation! Left here 9/10 (the airport and plane were practically empty!), flew into BWI. Spent the rest of the week with my DD. We went to D.C. one day. DD and my sister collect Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood pins and DD just realized she had none from D.C. We went to an ESPN Zone (another place with pins) and to the Hard Rock for lunch. Then to Ford Theater (which was closed for renovations) and over to the Lincoln House where he was taken after he was shot. Talked to the Park Service Ranger about the flag that is in Milford. It is the flag that pillowed Lincoln's head and has his blood stains on it. One of the locals was in the "American Cousin" company and acquired the flag, later the family donated it to the pike County Historical Society. From there we hiked up to the Smithsonian, I wanted to see the Julia Child exhibit, which was very interesting. We also went to see the Star Spangled Banner flag they are working on to preserve. By then my fat little (oops! anything but little!) legs gave out, so DD hiked back to parking garage by herself and came back to pick me up.
Spent the weekend with DB and his family in Doylestown, PA. They had Chinese food one night, my first cheat! My second was on Monday when I left, for beakfast we had Scrapple which I love! You don't get it in the south. DB and I spent a long time going through pictures. I think I told you I lost my rogues gallery in moving. I hit a 2 for 1 sale at CVS and copied about $50 worth of pictures for 25.
I rented a car and drove to Neptune, NJ and spent the next 4 nights on a very uncomfoprtable couch, but enjoyed the time with my stepmother. Then drove 1 mile and spent the next three nights with my sister and her husband. More pictures. We also went to the church we grew up in and were married in, there were actually some old timers still left! Third cheat, some cole slaw made with mayo.
Drove up to Milford! Had the most fabulous time! I was wined and dined at different friends homes. Drove all the roads to see what changes had been made (decided to keep the car another week). I stayed with two different friends. I visisted dozens of friends and talked over old times.
The neatest part of the visit was a surprise for all. My DD made arrangements for a surprise birthday party (no gifts, just an excuse to get together) at the church with all the old members of my church family. Not necessarily old by age, but old as in length of membership. The friends I was staying with got me to the church on pretense and I decided that I wanted to put flowers in the church as a joy offering. We planted flowers on my husband's grave and bought flowers for the church (huge pots of mums) and took them into church. Dom and I took them on elevator and Ila May disappeared. When we placed the flowers I told Dom we should put plates under them. Dom said he would get them but I said no (the man is 80) and headed for the kitchen to get some. When I went into Fellowship Hall I saw some people there and food set up, someone said "There's Shirley", hurrying through I said I was sorry to interrupt just needed some plates and quickly went into the kitchen. Ila May was there nd said surprise, told her I wondered where she went and thought she was just saying Hello to the people in the kitchen. Someone called me and said "Come in here", I said no I didn't want to interrupt their party and was told I wasn't interrupting it was all for me! I had surprised them by coming in early for the plates! It was truly a surprise all round! We had a wonderful time. My fourth cheat, everyone had brought covered dishes.......I had to eat something from each........I couldn't hurt their feelings.......right? RIGHT!?! It was wonderful.
Nothing was said the first Sunday I went to church but the second Sunday it was almost embarrassing! The minister went on and on about me being an old member of the church before most of them had even thought about coming into the church! Damn I'm not THAT old! Told them all to read my little book on church history and went on and on! Brought tears to my eyes!
Saturday 10/5 DD was In Bloomsburg for homecoming, drove that night to Milford and stayed with a cousin. We met in church the next day, went to a cousin's for dinner and then back to MD. I stayed with her until Thursday evening. I got to visit a TJ's, what a fba store. Bought stuff to bring home!
The only hitch in the whole trip was the rain delayed our takeoff and I arrived in N.O. an hour later than scheduled.
I am just so happy I went. I enjoyed myslef tremendously. I am broke now, but happy! Still it was good to get home, it's hard being perky for a month. I wasn't going to let arthur interfere with my fun!
Okay, enough boring you all. Have to check on supper.
I really did miss you all!
Take care, Shirley

HiedieHo!
Wanted to put in an MM thingy.
_WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING
(Written by a former child)
A message every adult should read, because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.
When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a "Creator" I could always talk to and I learned to trust in "The All Mighty One," "The Creator."
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked at you and wanted to say, "Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking."
I know it doesn't have anything to do w/ SB, but thought we all come into contact w/ children and we should be aware of the examples we set.

Good evening! Glad to see Sef and Melf are back still waiting for Heartmom's return, does anyone know how her son is doing? Everyday is a learning day, today I learned that Thanksgiving is celebrated in Canada....could someone be kind enough to educate me by email ldblond@hotmail.com (I'm embarassed to say I didn't know)... My treatment is over, we will see how it works out. Trying to stay on top of my diet, I'm fantazing about being at least 7lbs less by my birthday, but still struggling to get the weight to stay at 165.5, my lowest in a long time. 167 today. I know this condition and the meds don't help and I haven't been able to keep the carbs down as well, even if they are "good carbs". Ah well, this is a journey, not a diet so it will happen sooner or later.

Today's thought is:
Whoever thinks a faultless piece to see, Thinks what ne'er was, nor is,
nor shall be.
—Alexander Pope
Perfectionism is complex and subtle. Out loud, few of us would say,
"Perfection is my only acceptable standard," but in the privacy of our
own minds, many of us talk out of the other side of our mouths: "I must
always give 110 percent." "I must never fail a friend." "For winners,
there's really only first place and no place."
Setting a high standard and holding yourself to it is certainly admirable
behavior. No one who shoots too low accomplishes very much. But
there is a big difference between striving for a high standard and
expecting yourself to achieve it every time out. No one can "always"
put out a 110 percent effort; there are days when we only have 80
percent to give. No one "never" drops the ball or bungles an
opportunity; even world-class performers have their off days. And first
place is only as sweet as it is because it's not a permanent position—not
for anyone. In life, there is no such thing as a perfect score.
Impossible demands on self make self-esteem impossible, too. If our
approval is only won by superhuman feats, we won't have much to
cheer about. How much healthier and happier we will be when we
eliminate words like always and never from our inner code of conduct.
We need to hear more applause.
My opinion of myself must not rest on words like always and never.

Not much gong on today... SEF glad you are back and that you had a great time. I was sorry that we didn't get to meet when I was in NO. We will be back again and we will have to try again.
Ldblond - I don't want to sound to stupid but what type of treatments are you having and for what? If you want to share. I was hoping that maybe after the holidays and the first of the year that we could plan a meeting. I am not to far away. Maybe 3 hours. Let me know.
DebyJ - Beer butt chicken. We had that a couple of weeks ago. It was great. We barb b qued it instead of cooking it in the oven. The best chicken I have ever had. Heard anything on the job yet? I'ver got my fingers crossed.
Jack-K - The grandchildren are great. I was afraid to be a grandma at first but I wouldn't trade ir for anything now. Lyla is the sweetest little one. It is great to see them learn. You'll love it when your time comes. I got all the stuff that I was looking for. Now it is time to sew. My DD found something for her little one so all I have to do is make a crib skirt. I'll have to take pics and show you what I have dome when it is finished.
Everyone have a great evening.

Good Evening!
Shirley--glad to hear that you had a great vacation! Your birthday party sounds very special--it must have been wonderful. So glad you are home safely and back with us though!
Red1 and DebyJ--I'll bite. What is beer butt chicken? I never heard of it so I'm ready to be enlightened!
Lara--I don't know much about Canadian Thanksgiving either. I went to Vancouver one year over our THanksgiving weekend--and it was so weird to me that it wasn't a holiday there.
I hope all of our Canadian friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving today!

Good Morning all....:)
Fillise - Beer Butt Chicken or Drunken Chicken as our friends in NO call it is: Take a whole roasting chicken, season it up with a rub, salt the cavity, open a can of beer, any will do. We BBQ ours so you place the chicken over the can and set it on the grill. You don't place it over the flame part of the BBQ. Ours has two burners with two different control. You leave one side turned on an the other off. Shut the lid and check it every so often. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to cook. It comes out tender and very golden brown. The beer bubbles up and flavors the meat and keeps it moist. We are going to use a more stout beer the next time we make it. The Bud light we used last time was ok but we thought that the more stour the beer the more flavor. I'll let you know.
DebyJ - Do you cook yours in the oven? If so is it about the same?
Everyone have a great day.... Not sure if I'll be at chat. It is hard to get there since I am just getting home from work and need to get dinner ready. I will try.
Cyndi :)

Here I am! After my parents left last Saturday I only had a few days before I was running around with extra errands at my kids school and driving for field trips. Then we went into our long Thanksgiving weekend so that is why I have been absent from the board. Today everything is back to normal and I was able to pop back on to read.
Thanks for missing me MONET and JACK-K. I am doing well even though I took Friday and Saturday to do my Thanksgiving eating. I ate everything I wanted to! It was very yummy and I don't regret it a bit. I am up only 1 lb right now from my Friday morning weigh in so I am 167 this morning. I will get that last lb off by tomorrow morning though..or at least I am going to try!
LDBLOND & FILLISE- Sometimes you Americans make me just chuckle. Our Thanksgiving is the same as yours basically, except for the date we celebrate it. We have our harvest and we remember God's goodness to us in His love and provision. We give thanks for material blessings and the blessings of our families and friends. We *came over* to Canada from Europe just like the Americans did but our focus is probably less on the coming over since we don't have Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower. ;) Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes!
BOB-Good to hear you have your Mom all set so close to your home. What a relief that must be to you.
TONI- I noticed you, myself and JACK-K are all weighing in around the same. I am only trying to get to 154 though but for now we are all neck and neck!
I am going to try and post before it freezes on me again.

Hi All!
I'm doing a quick check in. Thanks for missing me JACK-K.
HEARTMOM-still thinking of you and your family.
BOB-Sorry to hear about your mom and her hip but glad you got her in a nice place so close to home.
TRANQUIL-Hope your son is doing ok.
Well, I was getting ready for our Thanksgiving. I decided to do it on the Saturday and combined it with DS's birthday. (Gave us the rest of the weekend to unwind). DS ended up with a bad cough/cold so I was tending to him and I I had migraines for a few days, and then our wee cat died all of a sudden on Sunday. Anyway, it took a bit out of me and I wasn't on the computer too much.
I did get down to 165. I think my body goes down about 5 lbs then hovers at that weight for a good long time before it lets the next 5 pound chunk go.
I did pretty good Saturday (when we had everyone here) ate well and only had a wee smidge of birthday cake. Sunday was good too. But yesterday was really bad. Huge piece of cake, chips, pop and too much legal stuff. I felt so gross when I went to bed. I also didn't drink enough water over the weekend. I DID get in a lot of walking around the zoo yesterday, so at least I got a bit of exercise.
Today is a new day and I threw out the rest of the cake. No temptation lying around. I have to make myself drink lots of water. I was up to 168 this morning:eek: But I'm not going to let that get me down. Gotta pull up the bootstraps and stick to my guns.
So my American friends, just remember to NOT eat too much and too much off plan when your Thanksgiving comes around. It's not worth it.
Gotta go give the big kitty some attention. He's a little lost and lonely without his buddy.
Bye for now:wave:

Good Tuesday Morning, everyone!
I have my art student today, so I need to get prepared. This is our last class for a while. I ordered some books for him, but they have not arrived. Oh well.
I feel kind of blah today. Not sure why, but I am thinking it has to do with whole wheat. I am laying off starches for a few days, but it has been torture today so far. I did ok yesterday, until after dinner, and I ended up eating a handful of candy rocks. (we used them on the groom's cake) I decided today I am going to have to fight like anything to get through this sugar withdrawal. It is not pretty....
Its raining cats and dogs here. The pool is about to overflow. The power has been flicking on and off, and the cat is hiding under the sofa. In addition, it is cold! Well, you northerners may not thing 58 is bad, but it sure feels cold after the high 80's!
Weather changes always bother my lupus, so I think I need to go and take another nap!
GRACIOUS: Good to see you back! Good job with only gaining 1 pound over a holiday! That ought to be easy to get rid of!

Good morning all... Wow what a crappy night I had. I watched every hour come and go. I'm wondering if its because I drank allot of caffene yesterday that I'm not used to.. Anyway its given a sluggish start to my day and I don't feel like using the treadmill yet. Maybe later.
Rosalie- Hope your dinner turned out good. It sure smelled wonderful... LOL.
Jack-K-Hope you find the perfect dress. Celery isn't my color either. Well tomorrow is the day. Hopefully we did something good on the metal monster.
debj-Oh my gosh I can't have key lime pie within a mile of me.. Its my absolute favorite. And of course I love mexican dip. Well this is another week so hop back on and take it from there. You can do it gal..
sef-Oh what a wonderful vacation you had.. I just loved reading your post and it was so interesting hearing about Washington D.C. You sound like you have a lovely DD...
Idblond- I don't know about the Thanksgiving in Canada either and would love to hear about it. I'm so glad your treatment is over and hope every thing is up hill from now on. Good luck on the 7 lbs. It looks like we're just about the same weight.
Red1-Just a howdy to ya.. I would like to try that beer butt chicken. Wonder if I can find my recipe. Being a Grandma is the greatest. I have three grandbabies and love it.. Oh I see you did post a recipe thank you so much...
Gracious-Thanks for posting about the Thanksgiving... I don't blame you for enjoying yours.. Yep we're around the same weight. Its neat watching what each person does with it.
Zanne-Sorry your son has been under the weather. And also about your little kitty. Sounds like you got a strong hold on the week and all is going to get better.. Good luck to you.. You can do it....
Debilli-Howdy gal on the run!!! How come you can have sourdough bread and not sourdough pretzels?
Well I'm off to the kitchen to make some breakfast and start my day...

I was really busy last week the other lady who works with me was on vacation so I was really busy at work.
Wow this board really moves fast
Tranquil- I'm so glad you and Serene are able to be there for each other that what friendship is all about.
Jack-k- Glad your DH came back early anf you had a chance to spend some time together. I'm sure you will find the perfect dress.

Deb- Thanks so much for all of your hard work on this board.:)

HiedieHo All!!
Will try to get up to speed. And we know my speed is not very fast!...........Unless I am driving!
DEB: Really appreciated your call. It was so nice to chat with you. WE should get your DS with my GD, she is going to college for films. She took a special class offered by the local PBS where they did, filming, editing, voiceovers etc. and made a PSA that was aired for the SPCA. She is one girl that reads the creditas of a movie!
BOB: I'm a little behind. Apparently your Mom is doing better. Lucky you found a place so close to home. What is the rehab for? Nursing homes should not smell, at least if they are a good place. White sweets? I've had purple in HI but have not seen them here.
Meant to tell you all about TJs. It is the greatest store. I found pasta made out of brown rice flour. No other ingredients listed. The best cocktail sauce with only 1g sugar, cheaper prices on Kashi, PJ and SF jelly. Their frozen veggies are just like fresh, we had precooked frozen shrimp that was great as well as frozen sweet potato fries. Chocolate covered cranberries and coffee beans. A multi grain bread that was great as well as WW pitas. Cheeses, nuts, sunflower kernels. I was amazed at the prices, much cheaper than here. DD was also impressed by the prices. The only thing we didn't care for was their rice pudding (DD ate it not me) as it was too loose (soupy).
SERENE: I hope your son is doing better. He was lucky, so many motorcycle accidents cause head trauma. Prayers for his recovery.
A silly thought........when I flew to Houston the first time I could hardly hook the seat belt. When I flew on this trip, same airline, I have about 5" of belt left over!
FILLISE: I had several headaches while on my trip. Unusual as I seem to have outgrown my migraines and seldom get headaches of any kind. When I stopped and analyzed they coincided with my cheats. Just used to all that sugar and white stuff anymore. You'd think that reaction would keep us on track but doesn't seem to work that was, at least for me. Also missed my real coffee, most of my friends drink decaf. I got headaches from that too, but drank pepsi, diet of course, and that helped. Thanx for welcome.
MOMMA: Aren't surprise parties fun? Congrats on the 5 0! I didn't say BIG 5 0, cause age doesn't bother me so why make it sound like it's bad?
ROSALIE: Hoped you enjoyed your Thanksgiving.
DEBYJ: You'll find I am very wordy!
LDBLOND: I am trying to catch up, missed what condition do you have? Whatever, I hope treatment is helping.
RED1: Thanx for welcome back. Maybe someday we will meet. I so enjoyed meeting Melf and Fruit. Beer Butt Chicken, isn't that made with a can of beer up the chicken's butt? Is that legal?
GRACIOUS: I have found that our lack of knowledge about others is always amusing. Especially our misconceptions! Nice to be educated by each other.
JACKK: I had a short IM chat with Quilter when I got back, so she's out there. She was at work when we talked very briefly as I got kicked off.
MONET: One thing I enjoyed on my trip was the brisk weather. Altho I will admit the first morning in Milford I woke up with an ice cube for a nose (I sleep with the window open)! I did miss the vivid colors as their weather has been unusually warm. Leaves were just beginning to change when I left. Seems like in the south I notice the coolness more, probably because of the dampness here. In PA it's a dry cold for the most part.
Well have to get busy and write some thank you notes. I also have a couple of letters to answer.
Will try to check in later!

Hey everyone!!
Well, i'm trying to do better but i have a nasty head cold so all i want is soup. Not much of an appetite so that's a good thing!1
on the beer butt chicken--i do mine on the grill. You know those injector things you can get at the store?? I saved mine from a turkey i did and now i inject the chickens with whatever and let them marinate for a while. Then i set them on the beer and whalla!! This time around i used moore's marinade and "dreamland" sauce from Dreamlands. Yummy!!!

Debyj, Keeping my fingers crossed for your job. What kind of job is it? Keep your triscuits handy for the mexican dip next time. Hope yu are back on track today. Hope your cold gets better.
Sef, Sounds like a wonderful vacation. Glad you got to visit with old friends. And a surprise party too! How neat. Hope yuo didn't come home to any damage from the hurricane. Glad to have you back ont he board. We missed you.
Idblond, We haven't heard from Heartmom. Sure wish we would. Hope your treatment helps this time. Yes this is a journey. One day at a time.
Red1, Please do take pics on your sewing. I would love to see it. I'm so jealous.
Gracious, There you are. I figured you were busy with Thanksgiving too. Sounds like you were busy all around. Glad to have you back. I'm sure that 1 lb will be gone soon. Yes, we are all 3 around the same. Toni & I keep waiting for each other. Join on in here. We'll make that trip down together.
Zanne, Glad to hear from you too. Sounds like your Thanksgiving was a little hectic though. Sorry about your kitty. Hope your DS is better and you are over your migraine. Don't ya just hate those things? Those 3 lbs will be gone soon. Jump back in here and start again.
Monet, The ugly weather probably has something to do with your mood. Stay away from that sugar, it will get you every time. Wishes for sunshine tomorrow :flow2: Enjoy your nap.
Toni, Sorry you didn't sleep well. I always get up at least 2 times to potty. Hate that. Don't know about the metal monster tomorrow. I have been feeling fat all week. It is getting slower and slower. Good luck.
Mercy, You have the rest of your life to clean house. Enjoy those special times with DH.
Sef, The seat belt thing, not a silly idea at all, just a great feeling. You go girl. Sounds like you got bucnhes of bargains at TJs.
Hope to see you at chat. Good luck on WIW.

HiedieHo All!!
JACKK: Although reports back east cited Slidell and St. Tammany many times (I thought it was being wiped off the face of the earth!) I called the kids and all was well. Melf's town was mentioned frequently too and apparently the reports were more accurate about that area. Thanx for asking. I guess only those who have been there can understand the seat belt thing. It could be anything that hits your fancy and enables you to say "GEE, look at that!"
TONI: I do have a wonderful DD. Many of my friends were aware of my woe as she had alerted them to it! I wish she would lose some weight though. Maybe I may have given her incentive. She bought several pieces of clothing and made a joke that if she died (no joke) on trip I could have her clothes. I quietly told her they were too big for me. No comment. We all have to do it when we are ready, no hints will make us.

Hiya everyone!!
Well I'd love to say I'm doing great... but I can't. Well... I'm alive and kicking and that's great, but you know what I mean  Today I ate Pop-Tarts, corn chips, a granola bar.... GRRRRRRRRR What is my DEAL??????? ( I don't feel so bad... called mom and she ate a bag of candy... LOL)
DEB - YES, that is my MOM! :) She's great. Funny thing is, I hadn't talked to her in a week or so and she got worried, so she started reading the SB board to see if I'd posted lately and there she saw my post to YOU saying how we didn't read each other's posts!!!! ROFL :D She emailed me and said "oh what a RED face I have!!" It was funny! I don't mind her reading, I tell her everything anyway. I just don't read her stuff, so she can feel free to say whatever she wants without feeling self conscious :) But you're right, she's proud and not afraid to show it. She'll tell anyone who'll listen how beautiful/talented/smart her daughter is :) I do the same with my kiddos too... That's my Mom :)
Well... I'm gonna try and get into chat tonite. Am dying my roots (not even 30 and covering the GRAY!!!) tonight, so will depend on the hair progress.
Everyone keep those fingers crossed for me! I'm trying to get my butt in gear, the transmission just keeps slipping! :^:

Happy WIW,
Well the only thing I'm happy about today is that it is payday. The scale is still up the 1 lb. TOM is due Monday, don't know if that is it or not. Stomach still feels so bloated. At this rate I'm not going to make my 6 lbs by our cruise. Oh well, this is for life. It will come off one day.
Sef, We are in the same boat with our DD losing wt. My oldest (the one getting married) needs to drop at least 60 pounds. She gave SB a try but didn't like it. But I think you have to be ready to do it yourself. Now she is working out with wts and walking everyday, but as we all know you got to lose the fat too. Now my other DD has taken my lead and is doing well with this WOE. We just have to hope and pray they finally take our lead.
Beth, Try saying "I can't have that" when you see things like pop-tarts (no way am I cheating with pop-tarts - cheese puffs maybe) LOL. Then find something you can have to replace it. You have to decide what you want the most, size 12's or pop-tarts? Sounds so easy doesn't it. I'm pulling for you. I know you can do this. Get going strong before the holidays hit us and really tempt us.
Mercy, Sorry no one was at chat. I had every intention, but the couch felt to good and I was snuggled up with DH and a blanket.
I sure hope most of you are losers today. Good luck

I've started off the morning right... shredded wheat and agave :)
I just have to keep it going all day long!
JACKIE - if only it were that easy!!! (There are occasions I'd rather have the pop tarts than be a size 12!) The holidays don't really tempt me. I have never been one to go for the pies cakes and candy. I'm a bread girl. I'm more likely to cheat with mashed potatoes than I am with chocolate. I don't really go for sweets. Of course in my family the traditional Christmas dinner is Italian food, so I'll have to bring my own made with WW pasta, unless I can get them to buy the 100% durum semolina. LOL!
Thanks for the support y'all... it means a lot that you all are sticking with me and trying to get me back on track!! I went to MIL's the other day... still no gain on the scale. I wish that sucker would go up 10 pounds, maybe that would scare me straight!! But like I said, I'm one of those who only gained when I was preggers, and never any other time. I just don't gain easily... but I don't lose it easily either!!
I'm hoping today will continue the same way it has started!!! I'll probably check back later. Maybe having to post my cheats the minute I cheat will make me think twice!!! As long as you all don't get tired of hearing from me a million times a day! LOLOLOL
Have a wonderful Wednesday Y'all... I'm heading to the Chiropractor and to put in a job application for the same type of job I do now (which I LOVE) but it's at the other law enforcement agency in town and it pays $4.50 more an hour, plus the hours are way better! Cross those fingers for me! :)
Bye

The traffic light wasn't working on the corner of Broadway and 72nd Street, so the blonde stood with a large crowd of people waiting to cross. A cop was directing traffic.
Finally, the cop blew his whistle, motioned to the crowd, and shouted, "Okay, pedestrians!" The swelling throng surged across Broadway -- all except the blonde, who stayed on the corner.
When the walkers were safely on the other side of the street, the cop moved the cross-traffic through the intersection. Half a minute later, he stopped the cars on Broadway and sent the 72nd Street traffic into motion.
Again, he got around to the blonde's corner, where by this time she had again been joined by a crowd of people. Tweeeeeeeet! "Okay, pedestrians!"
The crowd crossed the street, but again the blonde stayed put. She looked at her watch and tapped her foot as if she was in a hurry to get somewhere, but never budged from the sidewalk.
The cop ran the traffic through seven more cycles, each time blowing his whistle and then yelling "Okay, pedestrians!" The blonde never moved.
Finally, after the cop yelled "Okay, pedestrians!" for the eighth time, the blonde shouted across traffic, "Yo! Officer! Isn't it about time you let the Catholics cross?"

ARE NORTHERNERS "BLUE NECKS?"
By now, you have heard all the Redneck jokes. Now here are some takes on how Southern folks look at their Northern cousins.
YOU JUST MIGHT BE A BLUE NECK IF:
1. You think barbecue is a verb meaning, "to cook outside."
2. You think Heinz Ketchup is REALLY spicy!
3. You don't have any problems pronouncing "Worcestershire sauce" correctly.
4. For breakfast, you would prefer potato au gratin to grits.
5. You don't know what a Moon Pie is.
6. You've never had an RC Cola.
7. You have never, ever eaten okra, fried OR boiled.
8. You eat fried chicken with a knife and fork.
9. You've never seen a live chicken, and the only cows you've seen are on road trips.
10. You have no idea what a polecat is.
11. You don't see anything wrong with putting a sweater on a poodle.
12. You don't have bangs.
13. You would rather vacation at Martha's Vineyard than Six Flags.
14. More than two generations of your family have been kicked out of the same prep school in Connecticut.
15. You would rather have your son become a lawyer than grow up to get his own TV fishing show.
16. Instead of referring to two or more people as "y'all," you call them "you guys," even if both of them are women.
17. You don't think Ted Kennedy has an accent.
18. You have never planned your summer vacation around a gun-n-knife show.
19. You think more money should go to important scientific research at your university than to pay the salary of the head football coach.
20. You don't have at least one can of WD-40 somewhere around the house. (Not to mention duct tape!)
21. The last time you smiled was when you prevented someone from getting on an onramp to the highway.
22. You don't have any caps in your closet that advertise feed stores.
23. The farthest south you've ever been is the perfume counter at Neiman Marcus.
24. You call binoculars opera glasses.
25. You can't spit out the car window without pulling over to the side of road and stopping.
26. You would never wear pink or an applique sweatshirt.
27. You don't know what applique is.
28. You don't know anyone with at least two first names (i.e. Joe Bob,Faye Ellen, Billy Ray, Mary Jo, Bubba Dean, Joe Dan, Mary Alice)
29. You don't have doilies, and you certainly don't know how to make one.
30. You get freaked out when people on the subway talk to you.
31. You can do your laundry without quarters.
32. None of your fur coats are homemade

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone:wave:
Just got in from my walk/jog, though lots more than a walk than jog. I got a late start today, it was raining earlier this morning. I did get caught up in a few sprinkles here and there, they felt good and were welcome, but I could of done without the gusts of wind. We are getting some rains from this tropical system Marco. They had said earlier in the week that we were going to have cooler weather here today, now, they say tomorrow, as it sure as heck didn't get any cooler today! You never can count on anything the weather people say when it comes to getting cooler air in Miami-but I'm hoping they'll be right tomorrow, it would be nice to be able to jog when it's 70 degrees (yes, that's cooler for us!).
Well, I have a statement and a coffesion! First, I am NOT:nono: weighing in today for WIW! No way, no how am I getting on the scale!! Which leads me in to my confession....
Yesterday we went up to Broward, late, but we went. ELI'S daughter Denise went up with us. We had promised her back in August for her bday to take her up there to Carrabas. She works for Outback and they are owned by the same company and she had heard how good it was, and of course, I had heard many of you mention how good it is. So we went for an early dinner since she had to be at work at 7pm and I too had the meeting at 7pm. Well, first off, I have to say, I did not regret eating all that I did, not one little bit! I can't remember the last time I ate such a wonderful meal and really and truly enjoyed the food. Oh yes, I cheated, big time, and I have to say, if you are going to cheat, do it on something worthwhile! I don't regret it one little bit, despite me feeling like the Good Year Blimp took residence in my pants with me yesterday! We ordered the calimari which was the best I had ever tasted, tender and tasty and the marinara sauce was to die for. The salad was delicious, or actually, I should say the dressing, it was some parmesan dressing that was as thick as pudding. Then entree was eggplant parmisan. I didn't want the pasta so they put some extra grilled eggplant on the plate. Their eggplant, I swear, it melted in your mouth, like buttah! It's not fried, nor breaded-it was just phenominal. Then, the pease de resistance...we shared a piece of their tiramisu. Well, let me tell you about me and tiramisu...there use to be a place near me called Italianni's who had the BEST tiramisu (in my opinion) anywhere. Remember, I had a pizzeria and I'd go to all the trade shows and restaurant shows and would consistently try tiramisus and not a single one ever came close. Even when we had the last SB GET TOGETHER in Orlando, where there still is an Italianni's, their tiramisu wasn't the same as what we had here. Anyhow, I skeptically tried Carrabas tiramisu - to die for! They make it there and damn was it delish! I think I ate more than ELI and DENISE and the worst part of it all was, I wanted more! Of course, I didn't confess this until after we left the parking lot. I honestly can't remember feeling so good about eating such a meal in so long and again, even though I know without stepping on the scale that it's up, I don't regret eating all of this at all. Now, if it had been a bag of MnM's, the story would be different!
Sorry I didn't make it to chat last night. We were suppose to get out of the meeting early, didn't happen. Tonight I have the kids OPEN HOUSE at their school, so will be busy there. Have a few errands to run before I get the kids from school today. Actually, have to get Lauren at normal time then go back an hour later and get Michael because he has to stay for rehersal for tomorrow, then go back 2 hours later for the open house. I swear, sometimes I feel I should just make a bed over at the school!
TONI, what could be wrong with the SGWW bread that you had been eating? That's wonderful that you've been able to part with your bigger clothes and that you'll be out shopping for new duds soon. Who said we couldn't have SD PRETZELS? Not I! I have a box in the house, the ones from FRESH MARKET are the best, no junk in them! They're legal, but remember, just 1 (if you have that brand, not sure of others).
FILLISE, I too can feel physical differences when I eat a lot of sugar, esp. when my skin begins to itch! I really hope you southern bells can make it down for the Jan. get together - if you all carpool, and with room sharing and it being so cheap, it will be a cheap vacation, and I'm sure you could be well deserving of one by then.
RED1, sounds like you had fun at the film festival. I'm looking forward to June when the film festival for the Children's Museum and the class Michael is taking comes around. Who knows, maybe someone famous will show for it-one never knows. Did you see any films that you thought were good? Sorry I missed you too, but don't worry, when you least expect it, your telephone just may ring...
BOB, CONGRATS OLD GAL!! Geez, when you decide to do something and take the bull by the gonads, you sure give it your all! That's a wonderful loss you had this week and the 2 weeks combined. Darn, don't I wish I could do that in 2 weeks time, my problems would be solved, at least the one I'm having with the scale. You keep up the great work, we're all so proud of you! Glad to hear DM is doing well as well. Thanks for the FF today-we are gung ho, a little early, but welcomed nonetheless!
BIGK, glad to hear your bday was not only a surprise, but a success and OMG, that Carabbas! As you probably read above, I love that place!!!!!! I can't wait to go back again - hmmm, maybe at the next SB GET TOGETHER instead of Outback....:s:
MONET, sounds like you had a great weekend. Of course, the one weekend I do call I miss you. Don't worry, I'll try again, just can't pinpoint when, it's the luck of the draw with me.
ROSALIE, hope you had a good Thanksgiving with your family. You know, no matter when, the door is always open for you and anyone else on the board to come and visit. I know it would be hard for you to stay on in Orlando after the family is gone, but to be sooo close and then only a week away from everyone getting together, well, I know if there was any way you could, you would stay. I just have to say that I am happy to have already had the chance to meet you and I'd love for the other gals who haven't to have the opportunity:D
JACKK, I'm sure you'll find the perfect MOTB dress, when you least expect it. I still think Penney's has a great selection, well, at least the ones down here do. I'm only going to 2 of Michael's classes tonight, his art and his biology, the rest will be Lauren's classes, though she wants me to go to her classes that are the same time as Michael's 2 that I'm going to - can't make everyone happy!
DEBY, beer butt chicken? Sounds like a dish a guy came up with! Okay, RED1 sorta gave an idea about it, but what the heck do you do with the beer? Shove the entire can up it's butt? Hmmm, my DM makes brisket in beer gravy. Is this SB LEGAL????
SEF, was interesting to read all of your travel events and happenings. You sure did get around and seems you had a good time and many had a good time seeing you! Of course, I'm SURE the highlight of your trip was those 3 visits to TJ'S;) Okay, what the heck is Scrapple? Sounds nasty to me. It's okay to be broke, as long as you are happy!!!!!! Hey, maybe if you save up some $$$ you AND GD can come visit one day, I'm sure Michael would love to talk to her!! She probably likes indy films, like he does.
BETH, THAT is funny with your DM and this board! Did she mention that she read my post and what I said about her? Sounds like you two have an awesome relationship and your kids are lucky that you do as it will be the same with them! My DM and I have a great relationship as well and my kids do too with both my parents. Even at the age of 16 and almost 15, my kids still like sleeping over at Gradma and Grampa's house. Nowadays, that's rare, at an age like this. Glad to see you are starting the day off good. The confidence you have going in to this job interview should be the same confidence you have with this WOE. You can do it and you know you can! Good luck on the job interview, let us know how it goes!
LDBLOND, glad to see your post. I haven't a clue about HEART, sure do wish that someone had more info or a way to find out how BOOGIE'S doing! Anything at all from NANCE? Hope now that the treatments are done you'll feel better.
GRACIOUS, hope you all had a good Thanksgiving as well. Girl, I'm right with you about not regreting eating some good food. I'm sure we'll both get this temporary enjoyment weight off of us soon!
ZANNE, hope your Thanksgiving was good too, well, despite DS, migranes and the cat. Guess it put a damper in the weekend. Thought, it's good to see all our Canuks back on the board after feasting day! Like you, I have to work on the water. I don't think I even had 1 glass yesterday!:fr:
MERCY, so, what movies did you and DH watch on your day off, anything good, worth recommending???
Whew, I do believe I'm caught up for now. Have to go and get in the kitchen and put some chicken I bought for Lauren away in my Food Saver bags (vaccum pack) before it goes bad.
Will try to check in later!
Good luck to everyone else today for WIW!!!

Good morning everyone... Well today I can finally do the happy dance!!! I lost 2.5 lbs. this week. I really think it helped to cut back on the bread. But tonight I'm going to try my first hamburger buns. Legal ones that I got at the HFS last week. That will be my celebration dinner for losing weight..
Mercy-Sounds like you had a night day with DH. What a treat..
Sef-Oh my gosh your store sounds wonderful. Frozen sweet potato fries, yummy...
debyj-Hope you get over your cold soon... Love the sound of that chicken.
Jack-K- So this week isn't so great. You know next week you'll get that bloat you've been feeling all week off! And so you know you'll do better when TOM is done...
Beth-Okay to the detox dungeon you go. You can do it gal, take one day at a time. Sometimes even an hour at a time. It will come.
Bob- Oh Bob doing the happy dance for you.... Yea for you.. Wow thats great...
Debilli- Now thats a meal out! Thats how it should be if you're going to treat yourself...But what the heck is tiramisu... Remember I live in the sticks...LOL. Great about the pretzels.. Thank you.
Well time to go get dressed and start doing something..... Have a great day..

A thought to ponder...
At 2 billion cans per year, canned tuna sales are performing swimmingly (pun intended). Not only is tuna an excellent source of protein, it's also fairly inexpensive, although you may be getting less tuna in your can than the label suggests, according to a study commissioned by the Boston Globe.
Tuna labels usually state that the net weight is 6 ounces, yet the Nutrition Facts panel states a can provides two and a half 2-ounce servings, which suggests a 5-ounce content. But if you were to drain the liquid and weigh the tuna, you would likely have only about 4 or 4.5 ounces of tuna on your plate.
It may sound fishy, but it's legal. In fact, a 6-ounce can of solid tuna must contain only 3.75 ounces of fish to comply with current rules set by the Food and Drug Administration. Under a proposal at FDA, new rules would require label serving sizes to match up with total weight. Some vegetable canners are already listing drained weight on their labels.

Good Wed. morning! At 167 today, down a 1/2 lb from last week, Debelli mentioned the other day that she was about 10lbs heavier than you were last year. Me too, looking back, I weighed approx. 156 - 158 in Nov. Now I'm ranging between 165-167, interesting. Definitely don't want to go up, would like to find a happy medium around 160 and stay there ;) But it seems harder now, I'm not giving in though.
Red1, I have a condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, which was caused by a repetitive motion injury to my right hand and wrist. I am having nerve blocks done every few weeks to try and stop the pain syndrome from progressing in Stages and also to keep it from spreading further as it's already progressed through my right leg and up to my buttocks and lower back. I would like to meet you, too. Maybe we could communicate more via email, that we could get to know one another better, being that we live so close to one another?
Gracious, Thanks for the explanation. It just shows that my new hobbie now that I'm at home, needs to be studying the world around me.
Bob, Glad to hear your mother is doing better. Congrats on the fantastic weight loss. Any pointers you would like to share?
Toni48, we are about the same weight. Thanks for the boost of encouragement.
SEF, see my note to RED. thanks. Sounds like you had a fantastic trip.
Deb, Nance won't respond to my emails or cards either. I just don't know what happened to her. I certainly miss her though.
Have a good day.

Sugar
A recent USDA survey revealed that Americans eat an average of 20 teaspoons a day of sugar which is added to foods. The Nutrition Facts panel show the total amount of sugar per serving, but that is a combination of naturally occuring as well as added sugars. Added sugars appear on the ingredients list, but not the the amounts. Common added sugars include white, brown, and raw sugar, corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, honey, molasses or sorghum syrup, and fruit juice concentrate. No matter which form is added, nutritionally, it is the same as white table sugar. Sugar provides 16 calories per teaspoon and virtually no nutrients. The average American gains 320 empty calories every day.
In 1996, we consumed an average of 25 pounds of sugar more than we did in 1986. The main culprits are soft drinks and low-fat foods. Soft drink consumption increased from 28 gallons per person per year in 1973 to almost 53 gallons in 1996 so it is no surprise that they contribute more sugar to the average American’s diet than any other food. Generally, sugars are used to replace fats in low-fat foods.
The USDA recommends limiting added sugar to 6 teaspoons if you eat 1,600 calories a day, 12 teaspoons if you eat 2,200 calories a day, and 18 teaspoons if you eat 2,800 calories a day. The rationale is that sugar contributes to obesity and in people who are insulin-resistant, sugar raises their risk of heart disease because it boosts triglycerides more than other carbohydrates do. Reducing our sugar intake will be harder than you think. Just take a look at the list at the site below:
LIST OF SUGAR IN PRODUCTS (http://www.springboard4health.com/monthly/grocery_patrol/gp_11_98.html)

HiedieHo All!
I have a question. I was so pleased that I found pasta made with only brown rice flour. My DIL raised an interesting thought. We cannot have white flour because of all the processing etc. Would brown rice flour be affected the same way? DEB, any answers you might have or any one else?
I've been invited to a Pampered Chef party tomorrow night. Is there anything that you have that you think is a good buy. We have BBQ tongs, and spray bottles, little spatula and turner. I don't have a lot to spend but want to get something, you know how it is, a friend invites and you feel you have to go and get something. MY DD is in the market for a home, maybe I'll get something for Xmas or housewarming.
JACKK: Don't know about your DD but we often have to walk on eggs with her about many things. She knows about SB and says the reason I don't feel like I am on a diet is because it is a complete food plan, I did suggest she might try it but got no response. I did mention going from a size 13 panty to a size 9. But did not want to be preachy as that would probably cause a reverse effect. Years ago I bugged her about her weight and she said "Look at you!", I told her that was why I didn't want to see her gain as she was. Oh well, if and when she is ready it will be her decision, after all she is an adult and makes her own
BOB: WONDERFUL!!!!!
BETH: Good luck with job hunt.
DEB: Let's just say one of the highlights of the trip wasTJs. Scrapple is PA Dutch. It is made with scraps of pork and cooked with cornmeal, it is then put in a pan to set. When it is set, you slice it and bake or fry it and it is gooood. Don't care what's in it, it's goooood! The commercial stuff isn't good, but the kind you get at the Dutch Market is goooood. It is NOT nasty. Now it's tuna! You're always teaching us, thank you! Sugar lesson too!
TONI: Good loss. I wish there was a TJs here. It is a wonderful store. Not very big but the stuff they have crammed in is amazing!
LDBLOND: Thanx for reminding us what your condition is, I had forgotten. Have you noticed any change with the nerve blocks. Sounds like they don't help pain, just the progrssion through the body.
Well, have to get busy. Day is flying by. Have choir tonight.
Went to nursing home yesterday. They were so nice, glad to have me back. I had a full house. They are so great.
Will try to check in later.

Just thought I would check back in.. Went for a walk at that campground and walked twice as far today.. Yoo hoo... I'm so proud of me... LOL..
Debilli-Sure believe the oz. on tuna. By the time you drain it theres just almost half left...
Idblond-Hope you're having a good day.. Yep we'll have to watch each other on our weight..

Looks like the board is kind of slow today so I'll go.. Have a great evening.

I can't complain about my weight today. I've stayed the same since last week and that is a miracle considering how bloated I feel. I have a visit with my Gyn in the morning so I'm hoping to find out something about all the problems I've been having.
I want to thank everyone for the prayers and good thoughts for my son, Adam. He is out of the hospital and I was able to be Nurse Mom for a couple of days. I can't even find the words to express how thankful I am that he was wearing his helmet when he was thrown off his motorcycle. I have seen his damaged helmet and bike, and realize that his head would have severely injured if not for the helmet. He is still very sore with lots of scrapes and bruises. The worst is on his hands, shoulder and elbow. The scrapes look as if they are 3rd degree burns - not a pretty sight at all. But at least he will heal, in time. He goes to the Surgeon next Monday for a catscan to make sure his spleen is not bleeding, but it seems OK.
BOB - congrats on such a great loss! Are you counting the points on WW or just going to the meetings for support? Best wishes for your Mom's continued healing.
Toni - I'm doing the happy dance with you on your loss! I think you are right that cutting back on the bread helps to lose weight. Think I need to try that once again to get the scale moving. Hope you really enjoy that celebration dinner tonight!
Deb - you just live in the wrong part of the state. Our weather is gorgeous today with cooler temperatures. I have the air off and windows open for the first time this fall. And believe me, I am not quick to turn the air off. You'd better get yourself back on that wagon or Tranquil and I will throw you in the Detox Dungeon when we come to visit again! Sounds like we will need BOB's help also!
Hi Mercy  Sorry to have missed you on chat last night. I was visiting with Tranquil at her house so we didn't make it. I'm sure you will show a loss next week. Looks like TOM is affecting a lot of us this week.
Jackk - I'm sure your 1lb gain is due to TOM. Just keep in mind of how much you've lost in the last year, instead of what you haven't lost in time for your cruise. You have done such a fabulous job with this WOE. And TOM should be gone in time for your cruise, right? ;)
Beth - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you to get your BUTT in gear! You can do it! Best wishes on getting the higher paying job!
sef - sounds like you had a wonderful trip. I enjoyed reading about it! I missed you on the board and am glad you are back.
Red1 - Have you tried the SF lemonade rita idea yet? If it works, we will both be in BIG Trouble!
gracious - good to see you back on the board. I missed you!
Debyj - hope you feel better soon!
Wanted to let you all know that Tranquil had to go the doctor today because her eye started "bleeding" again. She is going to see a specialist in the morning. It apparently can be a serious condition that can cause loss of vision. It comes on rather suddenly as she was just at work and it started bothering her. I know she would appreciate you keeping her in your prayers. Our appointments are in the same building tomorrow, so I will pop over and check on her after my appointment.
I had an email from Quilter and she has been very busy with some projects at work - getting home late and working 6 days a week. Said she has been too tired at night to tackle the board but is doing OK.
Hello to everyone I didn't get to respond to. Have to get busy with some things at home.
Ta Ta for now!

HOW STUPID DOES BOB FEEL?????
The telephone man came to fix my phone. Tested outside and determined that the problem is on the inside...I'm thinking.."I'm so glad that I got that inside wire insurance" :s: Well, he
tested everything and said it must be in the jack, then unplugged the wire going to the phone to test something else, and guess what the problem was???? 5 days without phone call being able to come into the house.... I NEED A NEW PHONE CORD!!!!! :o
I'm still doing the :cb: :cb: :cp: on my loss this week...it's got to slow down pretty soon, and I'm ready for that...I know I didn't put this on over night...and it's going to take some time to get it off...
I'm not following the point system, I've drastically cut down on my portions, which were a huge problem for me. I've not been eating a lot of bread, and sometimes none at all. Not eating between meals, and sometimes, I'm not hungry at night, so I'm not eating unless I am. One thing I am doing, is drinking a lot more water.
Fat has to be flushed, and the only way to flush is to pee...the only way to pee is to DRINK THAT H2o!!!!

OK.... having said that. I did have a bite of enchilada today that wasn't legal, but we were trying a new restaurant and I wanted to taste the stuff on DH's plate too... LOL. I'm really doing well all in all today. I'm having some grilled chicken and veggies for dinner. I did have a sugar free fudgesicle... I get that craving and I'd rather eat the SF than cheat with regular even tho the SF isn't that great for me!
Anywho... I'm off to stay legal... gonna try and drink some H2O before I go to bed. I haven't had water in probably 3 days! :o

Good evening all. The weather has been the bomb the last couple of days. I was finally able to get my rear in gear and start walking again. I've been so busy doing everything but what I should be. The eating is going well.
Deb...your meal sounds fantastic! And I agree..if you are gonna eat the cheats enjoy them. Except for dessert it didn't sound like too bad of a meal.
Beth...girl you had me in stitches today...and really really wanting a pop tart. :)
Toni..woo hoo on the weight loss!!!!!!! Go Toni..shake your skinny bootie....
Serene and Tranquil...praying for you both. It has to be very scary for your eyes to bleed. Serene...so glad your son is doing so well after his accident.
Jack-K...that pound and then some will be gone next week.
Bob...way to go! Awesome two week weight loss.
Sef..I love scrapple. When I was growing up in North Carolina we use to get it in the store and momma would cook it up...yum yum. I can't get it here in Texas. Which is probably a good thing.
Idblond....wtg on the half pound.
Well ya'll I've got to wake up early so I can sneak over to mom's. Hopefully we will get her up and running on ebay. She has some awesome treasures to sale. It ought to be fun. Be blessed...be strong..and be encouraged.
Love and hugs,

Hi All! Yes, it's me . . . the one who gets lost from time to time. I just wanted to report in to say that I'm in one busy crunch time at work. We are having our huge event next week, and I am carrying quite a lot of the burden of getting it done right. So the past two weeks have been crazy. And I just don't have time to read or post. Last week I worked six days and will most likely do the same this week. Plus bringing work home and night and not being able to finish all of that before I crash on the couch. This is so gross!!!! I'm quickly getting fed up, but know that the stress is talking now, not my real self.
Catch you all when life gets back to normal.

I wanted to check in and say hello. After my last post on Tuesday, everything kind of went downhill. Today, I feel like something warmed over...my throat is sore, my joints are sore, my head is sore...you get the picture. I am going to toddle off to bed and sleep and read the morning away, and hope it helps me to feel better. I am still fighting that sugar monster, and not doing so hot. Shame on me. To add insult to injury, I had to buy Halloween candy for my husband to take to work...but he didn't need the whole bag. Now I have three opened bags of candy sitting on the table staring at me. Guess I need to hide them. :s:
BOB: Wow, woman! Those losses are wonderful! Keep it up!
SERENE: I must have missed about your son's accident. Glad to hear he is doing better. Motorcycles can be very scarey! After spending time in Sturgis, SD, tho, I realize some people just LOVE them, no matter how dangerous.
TRANQUIL: Will be praying for your eye...a friend of mine had some bleeding in hers very suddenly, but it arrested, and eventually the redness was reabsorbed. Hope it is the same with you.
BETH: I am jealous you can get SGWW hamburger buns! I have to make my own, since no one here has them. Wish NO would sell them in Atlanta too.
SEF: I love a lot of the pampered chef stuff, but my favorites have been the garlic press, BBQ brush, and the set of plastic cooking utensils. I would love one of their pizza stones too. Thats a good idea to get something as a present....
DEB: Guess I am going to have to try Carrabas. There is one by my husbands office, but have never heard anyone here talk about it. When we go out, we tend to use a coupon out of the Gold C book, or go to old favorites..usually in ChinaTown... If they are owned by the same company as Outback, that is a point in their favor. I really like Outback.
LDBLOND: Those nerve blocks don't sound like fun. Are they helping? Does this syndrome progress only due to stressing the limbs effected, or is it independent of that? Is it like Carpal Tunnel syndrome? I have a friend who has a similar problem in her feet, that is moving up her legs. She is really frustrated with how it is hindering her movement...she can't walk to maintain her weight anymore. Her condition has a long name..which I can't remember, of course! :)
TONI: Good for you for walking twice as far! I need to get back to using my treadmill regularly...guess I will wait until I am feeling better. Or do you think treadmilling will make me feel better? ;)
GRACIOUS: Hi! Of course I missed you. Did you miss me? hehe! :)
I know I missed some...and I apologize. I just need to get back in bed and sleep. I feel like someone pulled a plug and all my energy has drained out....:halfempty

Hi All: Thanks for the well wishes and prayers, I go to the doctor in 30 minutes at Shands, the University of Florida's hospital, and I am hoping that they can just give me drops and the okay that all will be well. It is very painful, red - and my iris is not shutting correctly causing it to be painful with lights! If it is not one thing, it is another!!! AHHHHHH!!!!! Meanwhile, thanks to Serene I am eating legal every night - she made me chili - and I just heat it up for dinner when I get home. Well I copied all posts onto Word, so when I get back in the office around lunch time I can start writing a regular post. I feel like I have missed too much and want to know what is going on! WIW was not a good one for me, I was 254! So, something has got to give in this body, I am not a happy camper....of course, TOM being due does not help....Oh well....I have a new goal to be 30 pounds lighter by January, when we have the WDW Marathon!
Write you all later... Sabrina

Good Thursday Morning Y'all!
I started my day with some Graden Vegetable Egg Beaters with some beef brisket and cheddar cheese thrown in for good measure. I'm sure I got some protein there :) (I'm not gonna think about the fat from the cheese!! )
CRYSTLE - Glad to be of service!! Hey if I can't keep my butt legal at least I'm good for comic relief ;) Hehehehehe!!!
I'm gonna try and drink some water today. Yeah, I know I said that yesterday... I didn't yesterday. Probably won't today, but if it's the thought that counts, then I've had gallons ;) YES I WILL have water today.... I HAVE TO. :)
Well... I have gotta get my bootie in gear and get some laundry and cleaning done around here today. If I keep myself busy, maybe I won't be tempted to cheat!!!
See y'all later!!!!!

Happy Thursday,
I tried to post before I went home last night, but we were getting a DSL line installed and the system was down, so I am far behind.
Is it summer yet?? It was so cold this morning, 45. I think I am colder now since I have lost wt. I guess I don't have all that fat insualtion. Going to 37 tonite. Brrr.
It's been a crazy-bad morning here so far. Boss is in a "mood"
Had bunco last nite (won 1st prize - a 25 days of Christmas wall hanging). She had cheese and veggies and nuts and triscuits. Only ate a dab, trying not to eat at night. Passed on the peanut butter hot fudge brownies with ice cream. Did have 2 scoops of sf ice cream.
Beth, I'm like you, not a sweets person. It's hard to pass up the bread and potatoes and salty stuff. Post on here BEFORE you have your cheat. Maybe we can prevent it. Good luck on the new job.
Bob, I am dancing a jig for you today!! :cb: WTG girl! I knew you could do it. Doesn't it feel great!!!!!Keep up the good work.
Deb, It doesn't sound like you ate too much off plan except for the tiramisu, the salad and eggplant sound legal and the calimari wasn't that bad. I guess just the portion sizes were large. Oh well, today is a new day. I feel like I have that blimp in my pants too and don't know why! So if I ever eat there, would the eggplant be legal? in moderation of course.
Toni, Yeah for you! 2.5 is great  At least someone lost this week. I hope I catch up with you next week. I have only had 1 starchy carb since Monday. Maybe that will help if I can hang in there that way.Great going.
Idblond. WTG on the 1/2 lb. Hang in there you'll see that 160 before too long.
Sef, I have the Pampered Chef, pizza cutter, chopper (it's great), the grapefuit knife (couldn't live w/o it.) ice cream scoop, pizza stone, brownie pan (brownies don't get hard around the edges) Their paring knives $1.00 are great too. Most of their stuff is very durable. Oh, I have their cutting board which lays next to my sink. Use it twice a day. I tell my kids the same thing, they didn't want to end up looking like me. Now my youngest doesn't want me fitting in her clothes so she is trying it.
Toni, WTG on your walking. Keep up the good work.
Serene, Glad Adam is feeling better. It will just take time. Hope you get some answers at the gyn. Do you think we would have to put triple sec in the ritas? I thought it might containsugar? I thought the sf lemonade, lime juice, tequilla maybe some splenda, ice. whirl away. Where's there's a will there's a way. Can anything else happen to you two? Thanks for the update on Quilter.
Tranquil, Hope your eye is ok. Let us know. You can make your Jan goal. I have faith in you.
Bob, You are right abut the eating at night. I did much better when I didn't do that. Yes water is very helpful. I like your attitude. I'm so proud of you.
Beth, You are doing great. I too was excited when I found the ww buns. Except my niece in MD has to bring them to me when she comes home. We don't carry them in KY at all. So mine are in the freezer for special occasions. Drink up!!!
Country, Sounds like you are doing great with your walking and eating. Keep up the good work.
Quilter, Sooo glad to hear from you. I've been wondering about you. Sounds like you are super busy. Hopes things slow down so you can get back on here.
Monet, sorry you are feeling poorly today. Go back to bed and get some rest. Stay away from that candy. I bought stuff I didn't like.
Have a great day everyone. Think I will start mine over.

Good morning everyone. Tried my sprouted wheat hamburger buns and they were good. I felt like I was really getting a treat. But now back to watching the bread I eat.
Serene- Hope your son continues to recoup.. And great for you staying the same when you feel bloated. That means next week will be a really good loss.. So look forward to that..Yep I'm convinced cutting back on the bread helps..
Bob-Glad you got your phone fixed. We just had to have the phone co. out here to. Must happen when the weather turns LOL. I'm with you on cutting down on the size on the plate, it seems to grow bigger and bigger, I'm watching mine to. I think the three things has to be. Cut back on carbs. watch the size on the plate, and drink drink drink that water..
Beth- Okay for a hamburger. Plus you can take the buns with you if you're going some place where you might have a hamburger out and switch the bun. I'm really pleased I finally got some.
CountryMom- Hooray on walking again. I did a great big walk yesterday and am going again today. But we've had some really cool weather and I've got to wait till it warms a bit outside. Keep up the good work. Enjoy your self at your Moms!!
The Quilter- Well there you are. Missed your good newsy posts. Hope it settles down soon and you can get back to posting.. Stay out of that stress if you can..
Monet- So sorry you're not feeling good. Sure sounds like you need to crawl up in bed and let your body start healing itself. THis will all pass and then to detox with you and back to the treadmill...Hurry up and get back on your feet.
Tranquil- Hope you're feeling better soon... I'll be thinking of you as you go to the doctor. It sure is neat you have a friend to keep you fed!! LOL now thats a true friend.... I'm just sure next week will be allot better Weighing in... So look forward to it...
Jack-K- Well we've got a whole week spread out in front of us to do with as we please. Sounds like you're off to a great start. And you did so well passing on those brownies! And cutting back on the starches. Bet you have a good weigh in next week. Know what you mean about that cold weather. We have it here and brr.....
Well I'm off to go do my walking. Have a great day.....

Well, WIW was ok, 167. Today I was up to 168 but it's midcycle and I bloat up, I can feel it!:p
Well, I'm doing the happy dance today:cb:  The size 12 jeans I bought the other day didn't feel quite right, so I returned them and bought the size (drumroll here) 10!!!!!!!:cp: Actually I think the 10's are made bigger than the 12's  but they fit in the hips and waist nicer. And hey, I'll take the psych with the numbers!!!!! Mind you, I did buy some dress pants and they were a 14 so go figure!:dizzy:
I've come to realize that my night-time snacking is more of a habit than because I'm hungry, so I've been making a BIG cup of green tea and having that at night.
BOB--WOW! You've done great with the weight loss! It sounds like you've got a plan and are looking at this journey realistically and that will help you tremendously. Keep up the good work!:cp:
TRANQUIL--Hope the eye is better.
SERENE--Glad DS is doing better. Hope the gyno can help you.
DEBELLI--My theory is to have a cheat once in a while, so I don't go all nuts with a big binge on bad food. Actually, what you had didn't sound too bad and you didn't eat a whole serving of tiramisu. Thanks for the articles.
A big HI  to everyone. Sorry I didn't address more of you. I'm trying to get here more often to keep me going with this WOE. Gotta go get lunch for the munchkin.

Hey All:wave:
Oye, am I pooped today! Not sure what's gotten over me:shrug: I woke up this morning feeling drained but just the same, got dressed as I always do to take the kids to school which is in my exercise clothes. Came home and just hopped back in bed and fell back asleep until 10am. Even after waking up I still felt, and still feel tired. What kind of crap is this??? Even last night, ELI wanted me to stay up later and I just flat out told him "no" and went to sleep a little after 10pm, right after AMAZING RACE was over. Doesn't help much that I've not only not started the day out right but I ate way off plan already and it's only early afternoon!:fr: The day is still young! Must be some funk my body is going through that it's not telling my mind about.
Went to the OPEN HOUSE last night at the kids school. Went to 2 of Michael's classes and the rest were Laurens. Only got to speak to one teacher, which was Michaels. It's really not a day to do anything but introduce yourself to the teacher but his art teacher got a hold of me and told me what a wonderfully talented child I have and how much she loves him - I told her she didn't have to live with him though! He really loves her and her class though and I was glad she feels the same about him. He's at a technology school with her today speaking about his videos he's done. Wish I had been able to go and see the reaction to the videos being shown-even his teacher said other teachers said they were dying of laughter. One video his teacher saw, which I just about died when I found out that he showed her was one we made when we were in NC in April which is the one FROG is in-oye! It's a must see! I wish we had a way to load these on the computer so others could see them!
Tonight is the benefit that Michael is in with his friend Jimena, so that starts at 7:30pm, so another busy evening.
Oh, geez, I almost forgot! I spoke about putting in a resume for a PT job I saw in the paper on Sunday, well, what a shock to get a phone call yesterday to schedule a interview on Tuesday morning! I'm asking for all good thoughts:goodvibes: from you guys, I surely will need them. I haven't been on a job interview since, ummmm, hmmmm, I think it's about 18 years maybe? I've been self employed for years and then out of the job market years as well, so this is really like a new experience for me, esp. since so much has changed and how fierce the job markets are these days. It's for a PT Territory Assistant for 20-25 hours. It involves hiring, training and supervising merchandisers assistanting with resets and developing retailer relationships in the local retail stores. I can't even begin to tell you how I've wanted a job exactly like this! I almost want to go to the interview and tell the lady that she shouldn't look any further!
Okay, back down Debbie, back down! Tomorrow, the kids are out of school, I think it's a teacher's work day. Not sure what we'll do, maybe a movie. Saturday I have to take Michael to his film class. ELI is off on Saturday instead of Sunday, so not sure what the rest of the day will entail. Sunday is my Niece Ainsley's 5th bday so my sister is having cake and ice cream at her house late afternoon. My parent's are leaving NC to come home (finally) tomorrow, so they'll be there, along with my Grandparents and my Great Aunt, all who I haven't seen since early July.
Well, I don't have time right now to reply to any individual posts, so I hope you all forgive me. I'll try to catch up with my replys in the next day or so. I hate when I can't get to everyone but I figured a partial post was better than none.
Tomorrow I should be back on track - it's suppose to be cooler tomorrow morning and I'm hoping to get out and run and take advantage of the "cooler" weather that's usually a rare occurance down in these parts. Hope to hit the bed early tonight since ELI is closing the store and hope to wake up feeling refreshed!!!
{{{HUGS}}} to you all:grouphug:

I hate these new ads on this board. They make me freeze constantly. This is like the 20th time of trying. Sheesh. I think I am going to have to stop coming here because it is so frustrating to me.
However, I wanted to say that today is my 1 year anniversary of lowcarbing/SB and I met my mini goal of making my signature true! I am 164 today and now 10 lbs from my final goal.
MONET- I was trying to find your email and couldn't sheesh, it has been frustrating today for me with this machine! I am at lcc though.
In any case, unless my computer gets revived miraculously I think you won't be seeing much of me.
I will try and check in when it lets me but when absent you will know why....those creepy floating ads!

Just checking in again
My day has gone from bad to worse. Again, "MEN". Think I will make DH take me out for dinner.
Toni, We must be having the same weather. We're going to be having a fire sooner than ususal. I hope that's not a sign of a bad winter. Have a great day.
Zanne, Congrats on the size 10's. I actually got on some 10's myself today. I almost took them back a few weeks ago b/c I thought they were too tight. Today they are fine. It is a good feeling. Crazy how we let those numbers psych us out. Keep up the good work.
Gracious, Please don't stop coming to the board. We would miss you terribly. We need your inspiration and motivation. Congrats on your 1 yr anniversary. Only 10 more to go. That is wonderful. You are truly an inspiration. You have done so great. You should be so proud of yourself.
Have a great evening everyone.

The doctor said it was a virus in the eye...something wierd. Oh well, it will take about 3 weeks to totally clear up and then I go for a recheck. Yuch!
Meanwhile, I am having Survivor night with Serene.
JackK - Hope your evening is better than your day has been :)
Gracious - Happy SB Anniversary and WAY TO GO!!!! :cb:
Beth - Glad you resisted those Poptarts! They are bad for you and they taste like chemicals! :nono:
Deb- I cannot imagine you not getting that position - you are definitely perfect for that job! So all good thoughts are headed your way! Go BREAK a leg! You go get 'em!!!!
Zanne - WTG on the smaller jeans!!!!! You must be on :cloud9:
Toni - Thank you....meanwhile, those buns sound yummy, where did you get them?
Monet - I hope you get to feeling better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone
I've been sitting here for almost an hour doing a post and suddenly it is GONE. I'm so darn mad. 90% of the time I save as I go but of course tonite I didn't save anything. And I would love to know which keys I inadvertantly hit to make it disappear. I was just reading Gracious's remarks about her computer freezing with all the pop-ups and thinking "I haven't had any pop-ups lately" and whoosh, suddenly it was gone. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Anyway thinking of you all.
Will try again later.

HiedieHo All!
Well, I went to the Pampered Chef's party. I bought the BBQ fork and brush, also the handy dandy opener for bottles, caps and jars. A couple of ladies there said they had it and it works great, so my hands not being as strong as they used to I'm getting it. We have the BBQ tongs and they are good. Thought I'd save the others for Christmas present for DS. I guess it's like giving a mop for a present! Thanx for those that offered suggestions. Of course there were refreshments, but I just had some briccoli and coffee, how's that for a combo?
Bought a new phone today. Mine died and a new battery for it was the same as a new phone. How do they do that?
SERENE: Glad son is home. Hope CT gives reassurance on the spleen.
TRANQUIL: So sorry about your eye. I hope you are not too uncomfortable. To me anything to do with the eyes is scary. At least they can treat it, hopefully three weeks will go quicklt. Prayers going your way.
BOB: Hope I really needed a new phone and not just some embarrassing thing. Pretty sure, it was dead and would not take a charge.
BETH: Love those buns, they are good just by themselves. It may be the thought that counts, but it won't flush you out! See you can resist. Love the SF Fudgesicles. In MD I found creamsicles, yum.
COUNTRY: CAn't get Scrapple here either not even the horrible canned kind. Like you say, good thing too!
QUILT: Hope life gets back to normal too. I used to feel the same way for Pike County Days. I lived and breathed that four day event for weeks ahead of time and lived there during. Afterwars I would just collapse. But there was the saisfaxtion of a job well done, which you will have too, making it all worthwhile.
MONET: I hoped you stared down those bags of candy! Hope you're feeling better.
DEB: Good luck with the interview.I wouldn't worry about your cheatin' dinner. It's not a regular event. I cheated big time at my surprise party and did it without a moment's conscience, well maybe a moment!
No one had any thoughts about the brown rice flour? Had some pasta tonight, it is really very good!
Time to end this and read awhile.
See y'all tomorrow on the Board.

Sef - I had a comment about the brown rice flour pasta in the post that disappeared. So I'll try again. I would think that the ww durum semolina pasta would be the better choice as it is less refined than the rice flour. I checked brown rice pasta on the GI list that I have and it gives it a gi of 92. There was a note at the bottom of the page stating that the testing was done on pasta made with low-amylose rice flour. This is the rice that has a higher gi than high amylose rice. (Basmati is an example of a high amylose rice, and that has a moderate gi.). If the pasta was made with a high amylose rice flour it may have a lower gi, although I would still think that the regular wheat pasta would have a lower gi. JMHO.
Nite.

Morning everyone- Is it Friday already? Better walk outside today as we're supposed to get rain tomorrow and then a big cold front. Well today I start being a little stricter on myself. I think I've been having a little to many snacks and so I want to cut back so I'll lose good this week again. And also don't want to mess up on the week-end..
Zanne- Congradulations on the weight loss..And most of all yee haa on the size 10 jeans. Woopie ki ah......... Now thats something to spur you on. Can't wait till I can go shopping and see what sizes I can get into....Makes me excited..
Debilli- I'll be saying a little prayer for your job interview!! I'm sure you'll do great.. After all you are the fearless leader and we've got complete faith in you... And I'm sure you'll shine.
Beth-Good for you and the poptarts!! Thats the way to build self control gal... Each time you do stuff like that it makes you a stronger person...
gracious- I'm so sad about your computer. I'm typing on our notebook right now as mine is down and we don't have the money to fix it yet. Maybe you need a new modem like me...Congradulations on your year and yee ha for just 10 lbs. to go till goal. You can do it..... Please keep coming to the board, we need you and would miss your posts so much..
Jack-K- We'll then you're going to get rain... LOL Where do you live? I'm in Missouri. Here comes the week-end gal, easy on the dinner!!! Don't let them "Men" get you down.. huh wonder if I can get mine to take me out for dinner??!!
Tranquil- Oh no not an eye virus.. Gee I've never heard of that either but I hope it clears up soon.. sounds painful. Watched survivor too. That Stephanie did it to herself and even on the Early Show she didn't rate any high marks with me. She still was making excuses why she acted so bad... I got my burger buns at the Health food store in the freezer section where they keep the bread. They had hot dog buns to but I couldn't see paying 3.00 for them..
Rosalie- So sorry about your post. That can drive me crazy. Miss your big post, I enjoy them so much. Wish the pop ups would go away.
Sef-Sounds like the pampered chef party was good. I wouldn't mind getting my brother the barbeque fork. I love my pizza stone I got from them and use it when ever I make pizza. I think I need a new phone to. I haven't had mine that long and it fades in and out. I'm going to try and take it back to radio shack.
Well guess I need to get busy and make breakfast and start doing somethings. Maybe get me a fast walk on the treadmill...Everyone have a good Friday and a nice week-end

Sad news, I had to buy a pair of size 12 jeans yesterday. Just couldn't stand squeezing into my 10s any longer and didn't fit in 10 jeans at the store, so it's not that I've shrunk them. Still maintaining the 167, just need to get it down.
Tranquil, Sorry you're not feeling well, hope you're better soon.
Monet, Halloween candy, I can't even have that stuff in my home! My DH and I decided not to buy it until almost the 31st and then he's going to hide it from me. Sorry you're not feeling well, hope you're better soon.
Bob, thanks for the tips, my little one just brought mommy a glass of water and as soon as I drink it down, I'll have him fill another.
Deb, Best of luck with the job interview.
On to the weekend. Thinking of all you.

Hi y'all. No I haven't disappered...yet. It's just been toooo busy lately. From the looks of things it seems like all of us have been busy too. :stress: Dennis is working full time now.:) That's great, but I've lost my cook, laundry person, house keeper, etc. He's great about helping around the house and when he was home all the time he did all of those things. Now he's working 12-14 hrs a day and it's up to me.
Food wise it hasn't been pretty. I've blown it every day and making concisous decisions that have set me back a few pounds.:( But it's a new day and so far so good. But I'm holding by a very thin thread.
Sorry I'm not responding individually. I'm just not up to it.

[b]Jake was dying. His wife, Becky, was maintaining candlelight vigil by his
side. She held his fragile hand, tears running down her face. Her praying
roused him from his slumber. He looked up and his pale lips began to move
slightly.
"My darling Becky," he whispered.
"Hush, my love," she said. "Rest. Shhh, don't talk."
He was insistent. "Becky," he said in his tired voice, "I have something I
must confess to you."
"There's nothing to confess," replied the weeping Becky. "Everything's all
right, go to sleep."
"No, no. I must die in peace, Becky. I...I slept with your sister, your best
friend, her best friend, and your mother!"
"I know," Becky whispered softly. "That's why I poisoned you."

Happy Friday! :cb:
Man our internet was down all morning until 1:00. Don't they know that I need to be on here. I thought I was going to be way behind, but it looks like the board is a little slow today.
Not much going on here today. Going to :rain: later tonite. 62 for the high.
Deb, you just march right in that interview and tell them just that (that they need to look no further). They will like your confidence. I'm sure you will get the job. Sure hope they have the internet so you can stay on here too.
Tranquil, Glad it was nothing serious with your eye. Hope it clears up quickly.
Rosalie, How frustrating losing your post. Have a great day and weekend.
Sef, Broccoli and coffee? I guess it beats the alternative. Good going. Glad yo found something to buy at the PC party.
Deby, Good thoughts for your job. Of course, 1 month is a long time for me to keep my fingers crossed. LOL. Plan on being good this weekend, not bad. You can do it. Just substitute something legal for something bad. Be prepared.
Toni, yes we are getting rain tonite. I'm in Lou., KY. My dinner was good, Portabella mushroom chicken. I just hope the sauce was legal. I have been trying not to snack. It is hard sometimes.
Idblond, Not every pair of jeans or pants fit the same. Maybe it was the way they are cut.
Music, Glad Dennis has found a job, but I guess it's bad for you to have to do all the work alone now. Jump back on this wagon. We can do this. Try to get back on here. It really helps.
No big plans for the weekend. Happy hour tonite. I'll behave. I've already got my triscuits in my purse in case we go for Mexican afterwards. Going to the UL game tomorrow. No big deal. Suit hunting for DH on Sunday.
Have a great weekend everyone :flow2:

I DID IT!!! I stayed OP all day yesterday even at work with the girl who loves to go out and buy us tacos!!! I've been OP all day today too. My son had a field trip and I packed an OP PB&J and some oat bran pretzel sticks. :) I only ate the sandwich, wasn't too hungry walking around in that heat!
I came home and drank some WATER (go me!) and ate a SF Fudgesicle. Gotta have a treat ;)
I'm about to make a hamburger with no bun to take to work for dinner and some green beans, I'm craving them!
Well I gotta scoot!! Almost time to leave, and I'm not even in uniform yet.
OH YEAH - keep those prayers coming for the job, they've had 231 applicants so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the good vibes everyone... They're helping me stay OP! I CAN DO IT!!! 1.5 days back on track and counting!!!

HiedieHo All!
Have been trying to do some housework. Not my favorite thing in the whole wide world, but the maid is me so do it I must! Tonight the Young At Heart are going to a restaurant for the early bird specials and then to the community theater to see "Dial M for Murder", should be a good evening.
ROSALIE: Thanx for the input on the brown rice pasta. I only bought two 12 oz. bags. Good thing!
DEBYJ: Now, now. Keep on track. Just think of your hips!
TONI: Easy to get hung up on snacks. I do better if I eat smaller more often, but can get carried away!
MUSIC: Spider webs are very thin threads and look how strong they are! So hang on to that thread for all your worth, and you know you're worth a lot!
BETH: Like the little engine, you knew you could do it!
Gotta get ready to go out.

WEDDED BLISS!
_Marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence. A second marriage is the triumph of hope over experience.
A woman took out a classified ad that read: "Husband wanted." The next day she received a hundred response letters. They all said the same thing: "You can have mine."
The bride, upon getting engaged, went to her mother and said, "I've found a man just like Daddy!" Her mother replied, "So what do you want from me, sympathy?"
A husband said to his wife, "You know, I was a fool when I married you." She replied, "Yes dear, but I was in love and didn't notice."
If you want your spouse to listen and pay strict attention to every word you say,
talk in your sleep!
A woman said to her friend, "I made my husband a millionaire." "And what was he
before you married him?" asked the friend. The woman replied, "A billionaire!"
Getting married is very much like going to a restaurant with friends. You order what you want, then when you see what the other person has, you wish you had ordered that!
You know the honeymoon is pretty much over when you start to go out with the boys on Wednesday nights, and so does she.
Husband: "Well, if you'd learn to cook and clean this place, we could fire the maid." Wife: "Oh yeah? Well, if you'd learn how to make love, we could fire the chauffeur and the gardener."
At a cocktail party, one woman said to another, "Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?" The other woman replied, "Yes, I married the wrong man."
First guy: "My wife's an angel!" Second guy: "You're lucky, mine's still alive."
According to the latest surveys, when making love, most married men fantasize that their wives aren't fantasizing!

A man is dining in a fancy restaurant and there is a gorgeous redhead sitting at the next table. He has been checking her out since he sat down, but lacks the nerve to talk with her. Suddenly, she sneezes and her glass eye comes flying out of its socket towards the man. He reflexively reaches out, grabs it out of the air, and hands it back. "Oh my, I am so sorry," the woman says as she pops her eye back in place. "Let me buy you dinner to make it up to you," she says.
They enjoy a wonderful dinner together, and afterwards the theater followed by drinks. They talk, they laugh, she shares her deepest dreams and he shares his. She listens.
After paying for everything, she asks him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap ......... and stay for breakfast.
The next morning, she cooks a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy is amazed!! Everything had been SO incredible!!!! "You know," he said, "you are the perfect woman. Are you this nice to every guy you meet?".
"No," she replies........."

An elderly couple is vacationing in the West. Sam always wanted a pair of
authentic cowboy boots. Seeing some on sale one day, he buys them, wears them home, walking proudly. He walks into their hotel room and says to his wife, "Notice anything different, Bessie?"
Bessie looks him over, "Nope."
Sam says excitedly, "Come on, Bessie, take a good look. Notice anything different about me?"
Bessie looks again, "Nope."
Frustrated, Sam storms off into the bathroom, undresses, and walks back into the room completely naked except for his boots. Again, he asks, a little louder this time, "Notice anything DIFFERENT?"
Bessie looks up and says, "Sam, what's different? It's hanging down today, it was hanging down yesterday, and the damn thing will be hanging down again tomorrow."
Furious, Sam Yells, 'AND DO YOU KNOW WHY THE SON OF A ***** IS
HANGING DOWN, BESSIE? IT'S HANGING DOWN BECAUSE IT'S LOOKING AT MY NEW BOOTS!!!!"
To which Bessie replies, "Shoulda bought a hat, Sam. ....... Shoulda bought a hat."

Hi everyone
I'll try and do a post again, but will make sure that I save it as I go this time. I haven't caught up with to-day's board yet. Had a busy morning, then badminton this afternoon and work this evening. I missed WIW again this week as Wednesday is a very busy day for me with Tai Chi, exercise class and badminton in the evening. The news wasn't good anyway. I was up to 203 lbs, which didn't surprise me as I had pigged out on some mini donuts at work the previous day. I keep getting comments at work about how slim I am getting and people saying that I am losing so much weight but I haven't lost anything (just on again off again) for about a year. And I really haven't noticed any difference in the way my clothes are fitting. Lucky they don't see me with no clothes on - then they would see the flab. It's a good feeling to get compliments though about the way I look but maybe this is part of the reason I don't seem to have the resolve to stay op all the time and get the weight off. Most of the time I eat well and keep the starchy carbs down but then I have days when I eat too much bread or rice. This evening at work about 11 p.m. I was getting hungry. I didn't have any snacks left and almost went down to the machine to get a bag of chips before heading home. I decided instead to show some willpower and came home and boiled a couple of eggs and had a piece of cheese. I thought the protein was a better choice. I think the reason that I was hungry was because I didn't have any veggies with my supper. I had some curried beef with rice but I had forgotten to take any veggies with me. I did have a fruit cup and a pear but I missed my veggies. I'd better finish this post soon and get off to bed before I get hungry again.
Deb - Sounds like that was a wonderful meal you had the other day out at Broward. If you are going to cheat you may as well enjoy it. BTW what is tiramisu? I wish you well at the job interview on Tuesday. Will be thinking of you. It's too bad that I won't be at the WDW Mini Marathon but I will always treasure the time I spent with you and other SBers earlier this year.
Sef - I can see that you really had a good holiday. I enjoyed reading your description of your travels and meetings with old friends. That must have been a very pleasant surprise when they had the party for you. I'm glad to see you back posting and thanks for all the FFs.
Zanne - WTG on the pants. Even if we know they are a bigger fit it still feels good to get into that smaller number.
Tranquil - Hope your eyes get better soon.
Serene - Glad to hear that Adam is home. Hope he is feeling better soon.
BOB - Doing the happy dance again for you this week. Keep it up. :jig: :cp: :cb:
Monet - Hope you are feeling better to-day.
Gracious - Congrats on reaching your mini-goal.
Beth - Good for you resisting those poptarts and for staying op. I know you can do it. And good luck with the job - will be sending good thoughts your way.
MusicTeach - I am glad to hear that Dennis has a job but it's too bad that you have lost your housekeeper .
ldblond - Too bad you had to buy bigger pants but at least you are maintaining which is better than a gain. I'm sure you will go down again soon.
Toni - We are having some colder weather here too. Haven't had to scrape ice off the windshield in the morning yet but I am sure that'll be happening soon.
Jack-K - We'll have to talk to that boss of yours to make sure he keeps the internet up and running. We can't have you going into withdrawal. :)
Well I'd better get this posted and get off to bed. I've probably missed a few of you but I am doing this from memory as I haven't time to read all the posts again that I had replied to yesterday.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Marie.

Man, yesterday was one of those days. I had to come face to face with my finacial situation and it wasn't pretty. Talk about stress eating. I stood in the kitchen stuffing cheese flavored chips and chili cheese fritos one after the other into my mouth. What's worse is I said to myself...."I am stress eating" and it didn't stop me. The good thing if there is one is that I didn't eat much more than the junk until dinner. When I had some frito pie..ugh. :) Today is a new day and I'm trying to put yesterday where it belongs....in yesterday. Refocus and start fresh this morning.
Beth...WTG 1.5 days OP and many more to come. You are doing wonderful. I think it's great you have started fresh and are doing so good.
Rosalie...stay encouraged. If people are noticing that you are losing that means the scales should be close behind. Watch those sneaky little donuts...:) You'll get there.
Bob...thanks for the great thoughts yesterday. It's good to sit and rethink how we look at things.
Have a SUPER day. Be blessed...be strong and be encouraged. You are the best you there is. And as you reach for your goals know that it's a journey and enjoy the trip.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

The meal was good, I had shrimp and eggplant casserole (the least dangerous item on the menu), soup, salad. The play was awful! I usually like their productions, but this one was unispired, just terrible! But I had a good time with the group, they are a swell bunch.
JACKK: Thanx.
BOB: Good food for thought!
ROSALIE: Thanx to you too. I find that when I skip proteins I get the hungries. Funny how we all have our differences but each obtain results. Good for you to leave the chip thought behind and go home to something that was better.
Things are slow aren't they?

Jack-K, thanks for the good thoughts, unfortunatley I tried on about 10 pairs of pants and none of them fit me in the smaller size, but I'm confident, I'm going to get back there.
Music, keep your chin up, each day is a new one, with a new opportunity to make better food choices.
Beth, way to go! Sometimes I think the first 3 days are the worst, then it starts going by easier and faster, until it's second nature to be op.
Country, what a beautiful way to end your post, thank you.
The last effects from the treatment are fading rapidly as of yesterday afternoon, but I'm still encouraged as it lasted 9 days this time. A busy weekend lies ahead as we need to go clothes shopping for my little ones. Their so beautiful and growing sooooo fast!
Have a super, terriffic, and blessed weekend!

I'm back on track!!!!! I'm STILL OP! This makes 2.5 days so far and I'm not falling back off the wagon again!
I had 36 ounces of water yesterday which is really not great, but it's much better than the ZERO I had for a couple of weeks before it! :)
Keep those positive thoughts coming! My dad's wedding is tomorrow and I'm going to resist the cheesecake I know will be there. Hey... maybe I'll make one and take it! What an idea!!!
I haven't heard anything about the job yet. My dad found out that there have been almost 250 applicants for that ONE position!!! I do have the advantage of already being certified for the position, and am already working in a similar position for a different agency in the same county, but still with 250 applicants, it has to be hard to stand out!!! So just keep those good thoughts and prayers coming. If I get this job I'll make about $7000 more a year!!!!! And the insurance is better!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend. I'm gonna go get some lovely reading done... and do absolutely NOTHING until I go in to work at midnite. :)
Bye Y'all!!!

Another one of my quickies...
Just seems I've been running, non stop, in circles (TRANQUIL can attest to the circles part, LOL). Eli's off today, but he's already put in 10hrs at work already-does something just not seem right with this narrative picture? Waiting for him to get home to maybe have a few hours together. Just been running.
Hoping to get on tomorrow morning and get in a post. Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Well it started out wonderful with the gorgeous weather here, and then I got to talk to Deb on the phone which is always enjoyable, and then best of all got kiddos report card - and let me tell you, I am on a happy kick at the moment - he did very well!!!!!! I am thrilled!!!!!
Meanwhile, going to try and make either a whole wheat sf bread pudding tonight or the brown rice sf pudding - with the weather being cooler in the evenings, it will be yummy and perfect - I am also cooking black beans and turkey sausage for dinner. Serene is coming over to watch movies and be my guinea pig.
Tomorrow if the weather stays the same = going to meet Serene and her hounds at the dog park with mine - will pack a SB Legal picnic.
Sef - thanks for the prayers about the eye - it is so much better today - no pain - a bit red still - but not so ugly as it was! Yeah!!! Meanwhile, loved your funnies. Thank you for sharing them!!! I am so glad to hear you enjoyed your vacation!!! Sad when we have to end those great vacations and get back to day to day life! I am already wanting to head on off for the next one :)
Toni - That is great about getting to see your kids next week! I bet you are happy about that! Sorry your weather is gloomy today, but those days can be so comforting too - snuggled up inside! :rain:
Beth - good luck with getting that job!
Idblond - Hang in there, the smaller pants will fit soon!! Hope you are feeling better....
Country - OH NO!!!!! Stress eating!!! I can sympathize!!!! HUGS!!!!!!!!! Hope you jump back on that wagon!!! Things will look better again!
Rosalie - Enjoy those compliments from work - maybe the scale is not showing it, or you are not noticing, but they are!!! That is great!!!! Keep up the good work!!!! With all the activities you do, I cannot imagine that you are NOT losing weight!!!
Well, I am sorry I am missing on replying to a lot of you, but me and kidlet need to get outside and clean out my car for tomorrow's picnic.
Hello to all that I missed!!!
Sabrina (Meanwhile TOM is here so I feel much better about the weight gain)

Just a quick post. I feel worse than ever...and I have to do this groom's cake. I am excited about the ideas I have, but have no energy to do it. I took a nap, and had some chicken soup, but my head is spinning and I feel pretty rotten. I don't feel like eating at all, which is helping me to resist the sugar monster. I guess I can be thankful for that!
I am going to get some hot tea and take ANOTHER nap...this napping is getting old, ladies. It would be great if sleeping made me feel better, but it doesn't. Maybe it at least is keeping me from getting worse? Heaven forbid! I don't even want to think about that.
Ok, gotta go. I must seek out the ibuprofen bottle....

Sunday Morning
Hi Gang!
Grabbed a few minutes on the computer this morning. Got home from church and wasn't hungry so I ate some yogurt. Surprised I wasn't famished as we didn't have supper last nite. I've been having weird dreams the last two nites and wake up in a funky mood. Don't know what's causing that.
Getting ready to go with DD to get measured for her bridal dress. then to the mall to look for DH a suit.
Deb, Stefani said you called. Sorry I missed your call. We are hardly every home on the weekends. Especially in the afternoons. Would have enjoyed talking to you.
Rosalie, WTG on chosing the eggs and cheese over the chips. Keep that mentality going and you willsee those podns drops off. I agree all the compliments make you pleased with yourself and then you want to cheat. But keeping thinking of your goal and you will succeed.
Country, Stress eating is the worst. And financial stress is definately the worse kind of stress. Don't add to your problems with food. Net time go do some exercises. You will feel better and it will be better for you.
Sef, sorry the play was no good. Glad you had fun wit your friends anyway.
Idblond, Sorry you are not getting good results from your injections. Nine days doesn't seem like a long time. Hopefully they will last longer. Have fun shopping.
Beth, WTG 2.5 days OP. You can do this girlfriend. Good idea about taking some legal cheesecake to the wedding. That's the way to succeed. Being prepared. Sending good thoughts your way for the job. 250 applicants. I'm sure you will shine above them.
Toni, It rained here all day yesterday too. Yucky day for a ballgame. How nice you are going to get to visist with your kids.
Tranquil, Congrats to your DS on his report card. Makes a mom proud. Sounds like a nice dinner and picnic plan. Making me hungry.
Monet, Sounds like you have the flu. Hope you feel better soon. take care of yourself.
Bettr get going for all these pop-ups take over my computer.
Have a great day.

HiedieHo All!
We went to Gulfport to Magic Casino for their buffet last night. I treated to celebrate our birthdays (my DS is the day before mine) we weren't able to go last week. I thought "it's my birthday what the heck." I'll tell you what the heck! I had such a headache this morning and slept so lousy last night that I didn't go to church this morning. When I was on vacation, I did a couple of cheats and would get a headache too even when I had regular coffee (lack of caffiene also gave me a headache. So I guess. and hope, I have learned my lesson.
Got some bad news this morning. My cousin, who I grew up with, has had triple bypass surgery. When I visited him on my trip he was complaining of chest pain. My sister and I tried to convince him to go to doctor. He felt it was just a little angina! He is grossly overweight and diabetic, giving himself a couple of shots a day. He does not follow his diabetic diet as he should and look what it all got him! I talked to him a minute today but did not rebuke him.
LDBLOND: Only nine days of relief? Must be miserable, prayers with you.
BETH: HOORAY for staying OP. Fingers and toes crossed about the job!
TONI: I figured the people I was with were more important than what we ate or saw!
TRANQUIL: Glad your eye is improving! Yeah, there is a little let down when you come home from a wonderful vacation. At the same timeit's nice to be among your own things and sleep in your own bed. Also it was hard being perky all month but when you only have so much time you push yourself, I did find it good to rest. My usual activities started immediately so didn't have too much time to think about the let down part of things. I am going to wear out, not rust out! I have not tried turkey sausage, is it really good?
MONET: Hope you feel better! Naps sometimes make you groggy, at least they do me.
Glad the Board is slow, means not a lot to answer. Think I will go read the paper and do crossword puzzle.
Later will check in again.

Fillise--I've missed you on the board. I know you have been really busy, but wonder if you are out of town somewhere.
The game was wild. Gators came up lucky, but it was a fluke and the Plainsmen could have won just as easily. Your guys played their hearts out and that running back that came in after the injury was terrific. My DH said that he reminded him of Emmitt Smith. Neither of our teams looked great, but we are hoping you can beat the Jaw-Jah dawgs. I try not to pick sides within the SEC, but our rivalry with them dawgs runs D-e-e-e-e-p! Actually, we probably will lose to them in 2 weeks. :(
Here's a nice present in honor of the game, and I think you will like the history in this. :)

Fillise--oops! the URL is now too old and I don't think you will be able to go to that site. Too bad because it was a great history of Jordan Hare stadium and the Auburn Tigers from the beginning. Very interesting stuff.
Try this one and see if it gets you there:

The address looks the same, but one seems to work and the other doesnt.

Hello all! It's been a hectic week and next week will be even more so as we found out late Friday afternoon than none other than President George W. Bush will be visiting Auburn on Thursday. He is campaigning for two of our candidates (one of them is one of my clients). I'm so excited I can't stand it!
Gator--Congratulations on your win last night! Y'all deserve it because you played well when it counted. I think Tuberville's days are probably numbered here--mostly because of his decision to stick with Cobb as the starting quarterback when Campbell is the one that seems to get the job done. I was proud that Auburn didn't give up after Carnell was injured--I thought that was going to be the nail in our coffin--but it was the spark in an almost comeback! I hope we beat UGA too--but don't hold your breath! I enjoyed your little history of Jordan-Hare!
BOB--a day off before you have to play Bama next week. I hope y'all whomp the you-know-what out of them!
My NC STATE is still undefeated after a close call yesterday--but at win is a win! They play again on Thursday.
SEF--Sorry to hear about your cousin. A reminder to all of us to keep with the program!
Jack-K--I get that not hungry feeling sometimes too (not often, mind you) but I generally try to make myself eat so I done't get ravenous later--which is very dangerous for me.
Monet--I hope you get to feeling better soon! It is the pits to have lots to do when you feel like crap. And let's face it--you never get sick unless there is lots to do. One of life's little ironies! Please take care of yourself.
Deb--Tell Eli that a day off means no work! I hope y'all got to spend some time together!
I spent all day yesterday at a local fall festival here. It was a gorgeous fall day--I was campaigning--but it was so beautiful that it was fun! It is raining today so I'm trying to get some rest because this week will be h**l on wheels!
I am going to Walmart in a little while. I actually found the sales receipt from my bathroom and kitchen scales that have quit working--so I'm taking them back!
Heartmom--still thinking about you and Boogie!
Jenn--still looking forward to hearing about your wedding!
Gracious--I know what you mean about the pop-ups. My ISP, Earthlink, has a pop-up blocker that is wonderful!
