Hi everyone! The Christmas Challenge was so successful last year I thought, why not run it again? So here it goes, if anyone wants to join me.

I had been hoping to get down to my real goal weight by the end of the year but though I've lost good amounts the last couple of weeks, I also had some really low, slow weeks, and I'm not sure I'll get there so for the challenge I'll just aim to lose 21lbs. Goal weight for Christmas: 160lbs

Sounds good to me!! I'd love to be in the low 180's by Christmas....so I'll make my goal 180, so 31 lbs to lose starting today. I'm doing a new goal as of October 2nd, so my new goal is 170! I'm going to up it again as of November 6th...my new goal is 165 pounds by Christmas. This challenge has been awesome for me!

Oh my, only 20 weeks!?! ulp.

Thanks for starting this.

OK, I'm aiming for 25lbs off.

This is because when I started my weightloss, October 2002, I got within 16lbs of goal by October 2004. I began to wobble. I kept track, albeit a wobbling track, right up to Christmas 2004, when I was 168 and after that, kaboom. 25lbs would take me to 1lb better than that!

So, "25 by the 25th!"

My original goal was to have a fifty pound loss before Christmas, but I am sure I can beat that. So my new goal is a sixty pound loss. That means I need to lose 22.5 pounds or 1.1 pounds a week.

Okay, I'm game. I'll say 25 pounds 'cause my average of 1.5 a week is taking a hit the lower my weight goes. I'd love to lose 31 to get to a "normal" BMI, but that would be pushing it. I'll try anyway - don't want to get discouraged by setting an unreasonable goal though. Good luck all.

My original goal was to lose 10 lbs a month, so I was shooting for losing a total of 50 between August 1st and January 1st. Since this is only til Christmas, I will amend that to 47 lbs by Christmas, so I would be down to 205. I haven't weighed that in like 7 years. It would be a nice present to myself!!!

I'm in. I would love to be in Onderland by Christmas, but since it is only 20 weeks away and my weight loss has slowed down to an average of 1.5 pounds a week I think I need to be realistic and say 30 pounds.

I am SO proud of what I have achieved since this challenge began. I started personal training sessions which have helped with the weight loss and toning. I reached my initial goal plus my first re-adjusted goal, and am almost at my next one! 2010 has been a fabulous year for me with my weight loss and 2011 is going to be a fab year for hitting my final goal and then maintaining it!

I'm pushing for 199 Lbs by Christmas - 61 Lb loss. That'll be 3 lbs a week for me which is very attainable. I've actually averaged a 4 Lb a week loss in the past when I switched to raw food. The challenge is staying completely raw. But our family festivities are over for a while so let the losing commence!

I'm down 2.0 from the beginning of this challenge, but only .5 from from the whoosh at the end of last week. I'm feeling a bit stalled because I dropped to 164.5 before going back up to 165. I'm hoping for a whoosh in the next 2 days. Come on scale - I'm only 1 pound away from merely overweight!

This week I'm child free (she's gone away with my mum for a week!) so am planning on working out most days.

I would like to lose 30 lbs by Christmas.

I'm 162 now so that would be ~132 by Christmas. Also, a guy I know from another forum (a gaming forum I participate in LOL he's becoming a personal trainer) told me to add to my focus on not just losing weight, but ADDING something healthy every week to my goals.

So this week I've added V8s into my diet every day (I got a 28 pack from Costco ^_^ and the main page on this forum gave me the idea) Next week I hope to add something else thats healthy into my lifestyle. 20 weeks is a long time though....how many healthy things can I add in every week for 20 weeks? He suggested "green leafy vegetables" but fresh things spoil pretty fast in my kitchen >.<

Hi everyone! I would love to join in!! My original goal was to have lost 100 lbs by Christmas. My starting weight was 380 (6 weeks ago) Now I am at 343. That puts my total weight loss goal from today til Christmas at 63 lbs. I know that is kinda high but I think I can maintain my weight loss at that rate (a little over 3 lbs a week)... I am excited about this challenge!!! Good luck everyone!!:)

Well, for week one I went down 1.4 soclose to the 1.5 I need to meet goal!!
So far this week Im already down 1.4 from that, so I'll be extra diligent cause I would LOVE to see 2 lbs this week!

OK... I'm in! I am also doing the 30 pounds by Christmas challange, but I am doing Atkins so (at least right now!)I think that losing 40 pounds is pretty realistic...

I joined 3FC's around Aug 7th so actually know my weekly weights...I HATE MONDAY weight-in's and always weigh on (far less stressful) THURSDAYS. So the Saturday weigh-in day for this challenge really works with my schedule.

Hi Everyone!

I've been lurking here for a week or so, and since my "lifestyle change" begins on Monday, when school starts, I thought I would join this challenge. I am now at 258lbs and am desperate not to reach 260lbs!

I would love to join in!! I'd like to lose 40 lbs by Christmas. That would put me at 245. I know I'm joining in a month late, and that only gives me 16 weeks to do it in, but oooh it would be nice. :D I have my weights from the beginning of the challenge should I post those toO? I wish I'd found this post earlier - but that's my fault for never clicking on it! I started my weight loss at the beginning of August, so I'm going to post my old weights too, hope that's okay. My goal for Christmas is 225lb. The lowest I've been as an adult is 230, for like 5 months, so that 225 is pretty exciting. I've only tried to lose once or twice before and neither effort was very serious. I'm much more confident this time and I don't feel like I'm on a diet. It's more like a MASSIVE overhaul of my eating habits -- I can still eat that brownie or go out to brunch, I just can't do it every single day.

I've never done a Christmas challenge before (or any other kind, really), but I'd love to join this one! I don't really have anyone to discuss my weight loss with (usual story of my whole family and all my friends being skinny and/or really built in the case of the guys).

I know I'm a bit late joining, but I'd still love to start.

A goal I'm afraid to use is 28 lbs. I'm scared I won't make it and will feel discouraged, but after another 28 lbs I'll be in the "normal" weight bracket! That's be... wow, amazing. I haven't been that small since I was like 13.

So, hopeful goal of 28 lbs, but I'd be thrilled with 22 lbs, which is about 1.5 lbs a month and reasonable.

Just checking in so you all don't think I bailed!

Had some medical problems that cause a great deal of fluid retention to begin with then 10 days on massive amounts of IV fluids.

I couldn't snap or zip what were my losses pants on fFirday bu they fit today so things are looks positive.

I will weigh as soon as I feel the fluid is gone or next thursday which ever is soonest!

I'm definitely starting this challenge a little late, but am very excited to join. My goal for Christmas is 30lbs lost. Which will help me break my mini goal of being in the 220s and over 50lbs lost total!!

Can't wait to spend the next 12 weeks with Jillian :drill:, the 5K I'm running in 8 weeks, and all of you ladies! :)

So in the end I made it down to 250 even, 5 over my goal but still close to 11 and a half lbs down from the start date of oct 1st. Decent... Especially since my goal for the halloweeen/thanksgiving/christmas season to be better then what I am but not be perfect. and I do believe I achieved that, I didn't ever buy a whole pie and pig out on it by myself and in the past I'd do that at least once, usually closer to two or three times. Come the new year I am going to be stricter on my diet once more and will hopefully go back to quicker losses

Wow southernbelle you're doing awesome!

I lost 3 pounds this week, so only 7 pounds to my original goal of 180, so I upped (downed??) my goal to 170, so 17 pounds to go! I can't wait to lose that title of obese which will happen once I pass 174. WOO HOO! Keep going ladies! :)

I would love to join! Since I'm starting today (10/13/10), that means I have 10 weeks before Christmas. My goal will be 2lbs per week or 20lbs total by Christmas. I weigh-in on Wednesdays so I adjusted the dates to fit my weigh-ins.
