Craving Chocolate...
I am really craving chocolate, but don't know how to curb the craving. All chocolate has sugar in it! I was thinking I would get some sugar free pudding, but it has stupid cornstartch in it.
I don't like the ricotta desserts, just to yuck for me. Is there any way to curb it besides that and nsa fudgesicles? I am thinking tom might be around the corner....any suggestions welcome! (Phase 1)

Hi I am not on South Beach & don't really know too much about that diet. When I crave chocolate I usually get a small handful of almonds or macadamia nuts & those seem to really help. Not sure if you can have nuts but if you can it might be worth a try.

A SBD Peanut Butter Cup Dessert helps to satisfy my chocolate cravings. You can find the recipe for it in the recipe section under Phase 1 desserts.
You could also stir some cocoa powder into your yogurt with a little Splenda or other artificial sweetener of your choice.

I don't follow SBD, but if protein drinks are allowed that usually helps me. I do a scoop of chocolate protein powder and a cup of skim milk and that helps. It's even better if you throw it in the blender w/ some ice and make a milkshake out of it!

You could buy the unsweetened baking squares of chocolate, melt and stir in some splenda, then put in a mold or something and freeze to make a "chocolate" bar.

Russell Stover makes some great sugar free chocolates. Wal Mart carries them. I'm trying to avoid them on PhI, but I've had them before and they're very good.
I'd send you a link to the Russell Stover website, but I don't have quite enough posts yet for that privilege.

Honeysox is right, Russel Stover has the best SF candy I've ever had. The thing is though, it should probably only be a once in awhile treat. Probably be great for when you just HAVE to have candy or chocolate and nothing else will do. A lot of substitutes don't taste as good. Russel Stover tastes like the real deal. But it's also got lots of preservative and weird stuff in it too, hence why I'd bet it's only a once in awhile treat.

Watch out for that sugar free candy. It has bad effects on your bathroom activity...just sayin...keep the servings to a minimum. I bought some dark chocolate chips and put them in the freezer. A few of those does wonders for those cravings.
