Playground- is there a cost to sign up for it? Or can you try at least one class free to see if it's something you like?
I think it's best to try a class at least once first. It might be difficult in the beginning (I think any new class or activity is!) but not impossible. And, if the instructor is good, he/she will be aware of the different fitness levels in the class, and offer modifications for the moves as needed. If the instructor isn't willing to modify the moves to accommodate the various needs, it won't be worth it (in my opinion)
But- if it's a good instructor- then go for it! I started my fitness journey with pilates DVD's at home. I couldn't do all the moves in the beginning, and some of them I still struggle with (I am horribly inflexible!
) but I think it's a lot of fun and can be a great addition to a workout program.
