I am newly pre-diabetic and in doing some research on diets, found that the Weight Watchers old Core plan is the closest to the type of diet I need.

Are there any pre-diabetic support groups here? If I joined a diabetic (as opposed to PRE-diabetic) group, I wouldn't really understand some of their posts relating to numbers and insulin.

Thanks for answering.

MAMMADUCK ~ I was pre-diabetic and post in the diabetic monthly chat. It is for anyone dealing with any level of diabetes. There are others there that are pre-diabetic also. You could start a thread in the diabetic forum (above) and I'm sure others (like myself) would answer it.

WW CORE is a good program and there are others that people use to help them get their blood sugar levels back in line (ie South Beach, Sugarbusters, the Diabetic Association's Plans, Calorie-Counting, the GI Diet, Atkins, plus Vegetarian, and many others). Everyone is different, and should use whatever works for them ... :D

I am also pre-diabetic and find the diabetes forum very helpful. If you are pre-diabetic, you will be talking with your health provider about sugar testing anyhow, and getting a sugar monitor anyhow. You will learn about numbers anyhow. We deal with two systems, (americans use g/dl, others using mmol/l) so we all get used to seeing different numbers. Its such a friendly bunch, and there is some good inspiration there. you would be welcome.
