Packaged Meals and Clinics - Nutrisystem, Medifast, Jenny Craig, Etc - Mirtika's Reviews of WonderSlim Products

07-25-2010, 02:26 AM
I'll post as I try them. Here is a repost from another review thread, so I can keep my reviews HERE in one place:

I got my order of WonderSlim stuff Wednesday. I did not order the starter kit, but ordered what seemed to be decently reviewed to sample and add more protein to my own self-designed meals.

HOT CAKES--these kept me satisfied a decently long time. Nice. The mix is super easy to make, cooks in a pan (don't overcook), and smells and tastes nicely vanilla-ey. However, the texture is like other high protein hotcakes--not quite what you might be used to. Dryer. BUT..that said, I add sugar free pancake syrup and enjoyed having "pancakes" that didn't blow my sugar levels up (my glucose is normal, but I have Metabolic Syndrome and had numbers going up back some years before I addressed this, so I prefer to keep sugar/carbs down these days). I'd reorder this for the luxury of hotcakes, even if not as good as regular. The lower calorie count is lovely.

Note: I cooked them on lower heat a bit longer, and much better. They didn't brown (just got a deeper color, but not BROWNED as one might do pancakes), but they fluffed up nicer and not a thing wrong withthe flavor. Just drier, still, than one is used to. I reordered 3 boxes today as they are on sale, two bucks or so off each box.

Creamy Hot Chocolate: Nice. Does get a creamyish texture and if you nuke a brief spell it after stirring, it's even better (gets a tad foamier). It's only mildly chocolatey and it's somewhat sweeter than I'd prefer (When I make hot chocolate, I make it quite chocolatey with raw cacao powder and very little sweetener, as I like to really experience the milky chocolate taste principally than the sweet taste.) Nice with some BariWise biscotti dipped. Nice dose of protein for so few calories

Vegetarian Joe: I made a sandwhich on whole wheat lite bread. It was a VERY small serving, but adequate for a sandwich with a slice of lowfat american cheese and two slices of tomator. Nice and filling that way for me. It came out to less then 300 cals for a high protein sandwich with fiber. I'd consider putting this on top if FiberGourmet lower-carb, lower-calorie, superhigh fiber pasta for a very filling dinner, plus veggies. It surely can be eaten alone, with maybe some cheddar shreds and lite sour cream for a still lower-carb lunch with some nice salad or a piece of fruit for fresh side.

NOTE: I had it the second time over a cup of the FiberGourmet spaghetti that I had leftover from dinner the day before, and it was very nice. I added chopped tomato and some cheddar, for a total calorie count around 450 and a ton of fiber and good amount of protein and some calcium. Filling. For those on stricter diets, just cut back the FiberGourmet to 1/2 cup and use fat free cheese or skip the cheese and add more veggies. I had a WONDERSLIM Cran-Grape protein fruit drink with it, so more protein for me for 60 calories.

Cheese Steak Macaroni: Um. Average. Not horrible. Not Great. Cheese flavor is present and pleasant. The "meat" is chewy (like beef chips), but the overall experience I'd call merely acceptable/adequate/okay. I may or may not reorder, not sure. Very small portion (I had it as dinner), about a cup when all is cooked. I added a cup of sauteed spinach, a boiled egg, and a muesli roll with peanut to bring up the nutrient count and make me nice and full. For those keeping to the lower calorie or Wonderslim plan, definitely add your "greens"--broccoli or spinach or zucchini or all of them, lightly cooked (steamed, boiled, nuked, sauteed with little oil) or have a nice big salad to fill the portion hole.

Protein Shake and Pudding--I got the Chocolate Cream. I have not had it as a shake. I like it as a pudding, so I keep having it that way. It's not REALLY a pudding. It's more like a mousse texture..a bit "rough" mousse. There's a bit of a bitter and proteiny aftertaste, but I like the portion, the texture (well, I like mousses better than puddings) and the chocolateyness is adequate. I add a tablespoon of organic shredded unsweetened coconut and a few chips of the ChocoPerfection sugarfree dark chocolate baking chips to make it fancier and tastier. The additions are lowcarb but add nice flavor punches for maybe 30 more calories.

Chicken Vegetable Cream Soup: Um. Ew. Reminds me of when cup soups were newish on the scene years ago, and they were all sort of oversalted and not at all exciting. A little "creamy", too too too salty, slightly chickeny, small vegetable bits. I had half and put the rest in the fridge to see if it might work tomorrow as a "cold summer soup" touched up with some milk to cut the salt. This was the best rated of the soups, which is kinda scary. The portion is good, though.

Cinna Choco Crunch: I tasted a small palmful. Nice and crunchy. I like the cinnamon combo with chocolate (I thought I'd hate it). This I got as a sample, but I might get another bag. I've had a snack of the single bag twice --and I have more than half of the bag still left. I just use a few balls as a "dessert treat" after a saltier meal.

I'll post reviews as I do them, so you may need to skim through thread to see future ones. I may later incorporate them here to have them all in one place, though. :D

Ya know, there were sooo many reviews about how much better this was than MediFast oatmeal, so like real oatmeal, five-star reviews, that I'm thinking that MediFast oatmeal must be incredibly awful, cause this was passable. Now, if I had been eating the world's ickiest oatmeal and had this, I'd give it 5 stars, too, I guess. Flavor is apple n cinnamon. It did have a nice apple and cinnamon taste and the rolled oats were REAL and so the texture was nice (if not overcooked, like my first batch. Use less time than the directions and increase as needed). But like so many of the higher protein, lower calorie diet stuff I've tried over the years, there is this aftertaste, this bitterish undertone.

So, side by side with REAL oatmeal, it would get no more than 2 out of five stars (and that for the nutrients/low calorie/appleyness). If you compare it to some other diet protein/soy oatmeals I've tried, yes it fares better. I will say it fixes fast, is easy to eat once you get used to the aftertaste, and is filling for its portion. I like it as a side to eggs to quell my voracious appetite in the am, and as a snack between meals. Worth trying, especially if you are an oatmeal lover who has tried other diet/protein oatmeals and found them wanting. Texture and appley/cinnamoneyness saved this from being a loss. I did reorder (just so nicely filling, worth it to me).

ETA: When I added 1/3 cup of 2% milk with cinnamon, this became so much better. Wow. I really like it this way. But some of y'all might not like milk or want to keep VLC. Still, if you aren't averse to a bit more calories, try splashing cold milk to the cooked oatmeal and sprinkle more cinnamon. Nice.

WonderSlim Fruit Drink: I only tried Cran-Grape.
Think diet Jello in liquid form. BUT..this is much better than the protein fruit drink I had in 2004 when I tried doing Atkins. I forget who it was from, Proti or Bari, but it was dreadful in my mouth, the texture. This one is liquidy and not weirdly textured, and it tastes fine--IF YOU LIKE the taste of diet jellos. So, that's pretty much the dividing line. If you hate the taste of diet gelatin, you won't like this flavored drink. But it's a nice change from hot chocolate or protein shakes and it's nice to add extra protein to a meal as a juice substitute.

It blended PERFECTLY in my Blender Bottle with Shaker ball. (My fave shaker cup of all time. It doesn't leak. That shaker ball is miraculous in blending stuff together. If your shaker bottles/cups leave you leaky or unblended, try it. I got it pretty cheap on Amazon.)

07-26-2010, 02:19 AM
WS ChocoMint Snack Bar: Yeah, this is nice. It's a chewy texture (not crunchy) and tastes like you would expect, like a Thin Mint (my fave GS Cookie, btw). But the nutritionals are junk. I think these should be used very, very sparingly in the WS Diet. I had half of one bar for dessert yesterday. Did not derail my loss (I was 3/4 of a pound down from day before).

I think if you eat one third to one half of these bars, you will be fine. But if sweet/sugary things set you off on binges or mess up your loss trajectory, avoid them. Just read the ingredients--it's crap. And like a lot of candy/crap...tastes yummy. heh.

WS Smoothies: OH MY GOSH. I love this Strawberry Yogurt smoothie. I could not detect a nasty tone (like on some of the other protein stuff). Much tastier than the other shake, and it had strawberry bits. I think next time I will add thawed frozen strawberries to punch up nutritionals and taste, but I liked it fine as is. I used a BlenderBottle to shake it up, and it required A LOT OF SHAKING and I still had to use a knife to scrape the bottom and shake again. Normally, my shaker ball blender bottle gets everything mixed up. This one is a tad stubborn, but worth it. If you use a blender, it should be even better with ice. I just used cold water and a couple ice cubes in the bottle. The strawberry taste is like strawberry ice cream/frozen yogurt. Nice. I am buying 3 more boxes. :D

07-26-2010, 12:40 PM
The Strawberry smoothies are yummy. I add a handful of frozen mixed berries. Nice morning pick me up.

07-26-2010, 01:06 PM
I'm having the hot cakes right now that I topped with some strawberries (frozen, unsweetened, organic) that I nuked, added some Nature's Hollow sugar free syrup to give a mapley flavor to. Cran-grape drink as "juice". nice...

Mirtika - you should join us on the WS thread...we talk about lots of stuff!! Come on over!

07-26-2010, 07:18 PM
Thanks for the invite, Kristikins. I figured since I didn't do the plan itself, but simply used WS products for snacks and some meals, not all, and added my own non-low-carb stuff, that I might not really fit in, ya know?

But I do check what folks have posted from time to time.

I wanted to post reviews, just cause I saw so few on here in an easily clicked place (other than the other couple useful reviews threads). For those of us, like me, who were looking for, "Okay, aside from all those Affiliate promotional WS butt-kissing link sites, what does this REALLY TASTE LIKE?" It seemed to me so many of the stuff that came up on google searches was promotional and not really helpful. This forum, thank God, is actually helpful. :D

Appreciate the inclusion...

07-27-2010, 10:52 AM
Mirtika - so glad you joined us over there!! And I appreciate your reviews here!! Most of the stuff I've eaten has been good or at least tolerable with some doctoring!! But you are right, it is nice to know another opinion before you make a purchase!!!

Crispy Peanut Nutrition Bar: Egads. Why did this get decent reviews. At most, a 2.5 to 3 stars (and that's taking into consideration it's diet fare). I find it rather unappealing. There's that powdery proteiny thing going on beneath the soy-crisp texture. It definitely has peanutty taste, for those who love peanuts. It has a chewy-crisp combo going on. But, really, this would be more "utile" than "treat" in my book. You use it to fill up as a mini-meal with some water or another protein fruit drink or hot cocoa, but this is not something I'd buy if I wasn't doing a lower carb plan. Just has that aftertaste thing and leaves a coating on my mouth/tongue like, well, like the way Milk of Magnesia used to do for me as a kid. Eh.

Raspberry Hot Chocolate: Now, that's much better. MUCH. I like this more than the regular one (and I thought I'd hate it, so glad I took the risk). It's very tasty. The raspberry flavor is sufficient, yet subtle. You smell it (nice) and then you get the gist of raspberryness in the sips. Not cloyingly fruity, just pleasantly so. Thumbs up.

07-29-2010, 10:00 PM
Caramel Pudding.

Me loves this. It does smell like caramel when you open the packet. It isn't very pudding, but rather mousse meets pudding. But the texture is acceptable for me, cause what I'm about is the taste ,and this rocks. Seriously like it better than chocolate pudding/shake pudding version. It has a caramel meets butterscotch vibe I totally dig (but I love butterscoth, so ...)

This one I'd rebuy. :D Really feels like a nice sweet treat.

OH OH OH OH. Delicious. What a change from the semi-icky oatmeal. THIS I could have every day, happily, sometimes as breakfast with milk, somtimes as a crunchy snack while watching telly.

The crunch is just perfect cereal-y crunch (think corn flakes with cocoa puffs with some chex-y kinda thing.) I am gonna order 3 boxes next time, maybe 4.

Can you tell I love it? Well, I don't love the soy or the incarnations of sugar in this stuff (ECJ, sugar, HFCS...). I just don't understand why they'd put that in there...oh, well... :(, so I won't have it every day, but it's a really good cereal, period (not diet or nothing, just good). There is that chocolatey flavor, that berry bit every now and then, and all that crunch.Woohoo.

Obviously, add sugar and chocolate to stuff and it improves it. HAH. But we fat chicks don't need sugar, HFSC, or even evaporated can juice. So, in moderation, this should be okay, but I wish they'd find a way to keep the crunch, berryness, chocolatetyness, and rid it of sugar.

Okay! I was just looking at that cereal in the catalog. I'll add that to my next shipment. Thanks!

For those who like the Vegetarian Joe and haven't placed an order in a while, it's on sale until, er, Sunday, I believe, at $1.50 less per box than usual.

I'll be getting a few boxes to keep in stock:

Toffee Pudding: This is pleasant. I'd almost call this a vanilla or a custard flavored pudding, maybe cause I'm not altogether sure what toffee actually tastes like, since I don't recall ever having any. It has little crunchy "toffee" bits, and that was a nice change from just smooth puddingyness. I might or might not reorder. I'd have to try it a few more times and see if having a milder flavor option suits me.

Lemon Pudding: THis tastes like those mild lemon candies you can get from your older aunts or greataunts. Lemony, but very mildy, not at all tart, not at all soury sort of lemon. :) I like it. I added real lemon juice (squeezed and mixed it in after it had semi-set, then let it finish setting. I preferred it with more real lemon flavor, but would eat it as is. I'd reorder, yeah. One gets tired of chocolateyness (why are they so limited in flavors?). So, this is a nice change. This and the caramel seem to be my fave puddings, yes.

08-10-2010, 06:49 PM
:D I love the cereal too..both kinds they have!! I have some everyday (well, weekdays only) with my plain Almond milk...YUMMY!! It's a great midmorning snack!!

08-12-2010, 03:27 PM
Have you tried any of the other kinds of drinks? Like the Bari Wise fruit drinks? Or their smoothies? I'm looking for reviews on them too

I've tried the Bariwise Aloha Mango (got one in a sample pack) and I really like it. It's an odd taste/smell: like Jolly Rancher Watermelon candy , that's what it first smelled like, tasted, then the aftertaste is more "manogey". It's odd, but for me, in a pleasant way. I'm ordering 3 boxes. It's a fun change from the usual flavors. It's definitely a hate/love it kind of thing, I imagine, since it's so candyish meets fruit.

Other than that, haven't tried stuff. I am gonna order a grape Bariwise fruit drink and maybe an orange Wonderslim to have alternatives to breakfast juices I was used to drinking.

I really wish the people doing WonderSlim here would do more product reviews. It's hard to find them even googling, ya know? Of course, there are reviews AT THE SITE (ie, Diet direct), and it's valuable to look at the pro/con ones and see what idea you can get of what you'd prefer, after looking at ingredients, too. I tend not to like drinks that taste like Jello, cause I'd rather EAT gelatin than drink it.

So, when YOU try stuff, please make sure to review.

Have you tried any of the other kinds of drinks? Like the Bari Wise fruit drinks? Or their smoothies? I'm looking for reviews on them too

Yesterday, for the first time, I tried one of the Bariwise Fruit Drinks, the Grape. I really, really like it. It tastes like Kool-Aid if that beverage had some more thickness to its consistency. But not weirdly so.

I found the WonderSlim fruit drink like watery Jello. I thought the BariWise one would be the same (I'd had a fruit drink with protein about 7 years ago when I first tried Low-Carb, Atkins, which wasn't for me, neither the drink nor the Atkins, that icky unset Jello thing and aftertaste).

But no. I didn't get a heavy Jello flavor that is a bit offputting to me.

It really tasted like some kid's grape-flavored fruit drink (only with more "body"). I tend to use more water than they recommend to dilute the sweetness, but this one I'd reorder and even risk other flavors. I'll be googling to see if there might be a promo code and stock up. Now, this flavor works for me, as I have fond memories of having a slice of pizza and 'grape drink' back in my childhood when I'd go out to a pizzeria with my dad in NYC. If you hate grape Kool-Aid, skip this. If it makes you nostalgic, maybe give it a go. Or just try another flavor.

NOTE: If you wanted to try the WS fruit drinks--not the BariWise one I just reviewed-- they're on sale right now, and you can use code WS102

Mirtika - I was reading on another thread that you ordered some Solgar Whey to go protein powder...where'd you find the best price and what do you think about it??

Mirtika - I was reading on another thread that you ordered some Solgar Whey to go protein powder...where'd you find the best price and what do you think about it??

I got it on (though health food stores carry it online) and I wrote a review for the vanilla one on amazon under "Mir".

I like it. It's not filling, but it's very quick and easy to mix and the taste is highly discreet , not cloying. It goes down quick and is so mild that it's easy to mix with other things and not overpower the taste of fruits, etc. The chocolate did not mix as well as the vanilla and the taste is also very discreet. I like both, but find that for a quick downer, a shaker cup and the vanilla are perfect. People who like strongly flavored, more like milkshake type of protein mixes won't like this. I like the great report from Consumer reports (no heavy metal contamination) and the ease and mild taste (since a lot of vanilla flavors out there I find nasty).

I usually use it when I'm in a hurry out the door and want something in my stomach, or pre workout with some green tea and acai on the side for energy. And it's very easy to make smoothies with it. I will use fiber pills when I go with this to make the combo more filling. :D When I want a fruit between meals, like a craving, ya know...I'll have this with it to ease the sugar spike aspect of fruit. (I try never to have carbs alone but always mix with protein and, ideally, some fat, too.)

I again found that the Bariwise beat the WonderSlim.

WonderSlim Orange Drink: Didn't like. Didn't finish. Again, tasted like liquid Jell-o, only less nice.

Bariwise Wild Berry: Tastes like one of those kids' fruit punches (like Hawaiian Punch or Kool Aid Fruit Punch) with a tinge of strawberry Jell-o.

In general, I'm not a huge protein fruid drink person, but I'd reorder the BariWise grape and wild berry flavors and plan to try others. I'm DONE with the WS fruit drinks. Ick.

09-15-2010, 12:06 AM
OMIGOSH, how I love the BariSlim pineapple flavor fruit drink. Adore it. I need to get some organic lite coconut milk and make a high protein pina colada with it. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yummy.

I gotta keep an eye out for a promo code, cause I wanna buy like 4 boxes.

Jalapeno honey mustard pretzels by Kay (Diet Direct sells them): MMMM. Really has a kick mixed with the sweet that makes me feel like I'm having a self-indulgent snack. Worth a try if you like those flavors.

Kay's Apple Cinnamon cereal: Better than the WonderSlim. Even hubby, who is Mr. PickyEater, will eat these as a snack. Sorta like a less sweet Apple Jacks...Apple Jacks cereal for grown ups. Hubby said, "Better than Apple Jacks." Very nice crunch. I eat these as snacks, but they'd be great with milk.

10-11-2010, 07:37 PM
I tried the WONDERSLIM PRETZEL BOWS and the texture is a little odd. Very, very powdery/crumbly/dry. However, the first bite is very crisp, and that crispness is kinda satisfying. It's quite salty (for those who like the salted pretzel vibe). If you can put up with the powdery/crumbliness, it's nice to have something crispy handy that isn't high-carb. I had 5 bows with soup for lunch today (and added red chard and mushrooms to the soup.)

I did end up trying the Pineapple BARIWISE fruit drink with a quarter cup of lite coconut milk (organic). Delicious! Like a diet pina colada. I loved it so much I ordered 3 boxes of the Pineapple drink to have alone and with cocont milk. Mmmm.

Tried the Taco Puffs (WonderSlim). Eh. Okay. Just okay. I wish the WonderSlim people would find more flavors other than just the tomato based ones like the better entrees. BBQ and such. Gets old. Would be nice if they could come up with some creamy, herbally, NOT tomatoey and not cheese stuff and not chocolate for entrees and snacks. They really make it monotonous by emphasizing chocolate/cheese/BBQ-chili-tomatoey.

Variety would be nice. :)

I love that you guys write reviews here on the products. I am going to subscribe to this thread so I can write your reviews next to the products in the DD catalog, that way I know what you guys thought!

10-16-2010, 01:22 PM
I think it would be a great thing if EVERYONE doing these sorts of diets (WonderSlim, MediFast, Bistro MD, Diet To Go, etc) would do reviews. Cause it really helps the rest of us who want to try new things.

Don't just read people's reviews. WRITE SOME! :)

Now, onto my fave new pudding-shake from WonderSlim: ChocoMint.

OMIGOSH. I love mint-chip ice cream (though I haven't had any in ages). This is like that. I shake it up in a blender cup with ice, and it's like a mint chip shake. I really love this. Better than any other flavor I tried.

I also tried the Vanilla Cream. You can note a bit more of the protein chalkiness in this one, but if you like drinking melted vanilla ice cream (remember when the ice cream melts in the bottom of a cup?) then this is kinda like that if you use a lot of ice to shake it up and make it really cold. Yummy.

I tried the BariWise Pineapple-Orange fruit drink. Did I review that already? Can't remember. This is a very nice breakfast option, cause it isn't all that pineapply, more orangey, but is smoother and "cleaner/fresher" tasting than the regular orangeade one. I like this a lot with bkfst. I like the Pineapple one alone or with snacks.

I wish Diet Direct would specify if they did heavy metal/toxins testing on their protein products. While I really have been enjoying several items, I worry about that.

Oh, well...

10-16-2010, 02:32 PM
I will be reviewing them here as I try them as well as on my website. I have WS and NL products coming in, which are the same thing just different brands, but the same manufacturer makes them.

So far I have tried:

Mocha Cream Pudding/Shake. I use 1/2 c water and whisked it for a minute. I thought this was really yummy and I am quite pleased with it. It is not quite a coffee mocha, but it does have a nice light mocha flavor.

Chocolate Cream Pudding/Shake. I make puddings as I like the "eat" instead of "drink". I used 1/2 c water, again whisked. It only takes a minute to set, and I use cold water out of the fridge. It is nice and creamy. I like that the sugar content is low in these so that it is no so sweet.

Vanilla Cream Pudding/Shake. Made the same. It was sort of bland as vanilla so I sprinkled in some pumpkin pie spice season and some nutmeg. It make it really yummy.

Strawberry Cream Pudding/Shake. Was not a fan. I am not big on strawberry flavored things anyway, just fresh berries. This reminded me of the strawberry milk mixed we had as a kid. It was not awful, I could eat it, but it had a weird aftertaste. This is not one I will order again, although it might be OK as a base for a smoothie if you blend it with some berries.

Caramel Brownie Nut Bar. I was quite happy with this. I was afraid that it was going to be overly sweet like a Slim Fast bar, but it wasn't. The bar was somewhat of a heavy consistency, but the chocolate was nice and creamy. No weird aftertaste, but I did have to have a sip of milk before I guzzled some water. They do make you thirsty. The texture is just heavy but not dry like some bars.

So far thats all I have tried from my Sample Pack.

So far I am pleased with the pudding/shakes.

Alrighty goes my run down on WS products...

Upon ordering the 12 week starter kit and tweaking it for all of 4 or 5 star only products I had lots to choose from. That being said I ended up still sending some things back for exchanges:

Mocha Cream Shake: My absolute favorite! I don't love coffee, but a hint of coffee flavor is divine! I usually mix mine with 10-12 oz COLD water, 2 ice cubes, a sprinkle of decaf inst coffee granuals and SF Torani vanilla syrup. Mix it in my HB single serve blender and WAH-LAH...a perfect frappuccino!

Chocolate Cream Shake: My second choice! I generally mix it the same as the Mocha - cause it's so stinkin yummy...but sometimes I do add SF Peanut Butter Torani syrup/ SF Butterscotch Syrup or PB2 powder to give it a different twist!

ChocoMint Shake: Couldn't really tell the mint in this one - bought some SF DaVinci Creme de Menth syrup to mint it up a bit more..still not a huge fan of this one (as I can add they CDM syrup to choc and get the same result).

Vanilla Shake: Something weird about the texture of this one - very slimey and had to choke down all the packets of it - even added Pumpkin Pie SF syrup, and all the other ones I had to try to make it bearable but to no avail. I don't order Vanilla anymore!

Strawberry Yogurt Shake: This is good for a switch up from Choc! I really enjoy this one - of course I add the SF Vanilla syrup to it. YUMMY! Only thing is the strawberry seeds in the bottom of the glass - someone with diverticulitis shouldn't attempt this shake...

Bars: I LOVE the Cookie Dough Bar (tastes just like cookie dough wrapped in choc - YUM) and the Creamy Cookie one (can we say oreo??? YUMMY) in line would be Chocolate - although dry its very filling and because it's dryer I can down a whole bottle of water while I eat it! Choc PB is pretty good but I don't love the Choc PB Crisp (not a fan of any of the crispy bars - I'm sure cows eating hay can relate!) Choc Coconut is ok - it's kind of doughy but flavor wise it's good. Caramel Butter Pecan - Not a fan of the caramel - it's almost too strong for me. Caramel brownie nut - same as Caramel butter pecan.

Snacks: YUCK on the Pretzel Bows - again like eating salty hay. Like the crunch, but that was about it! BBQ Bites - are just ok as are the SC&O bites. Didn't love any of the Chips they were like eating overcooked cardboard with flavor sprinkles on them. The Cinnamon choc crunchies are pretty good - better in milk like cereal though!

Meals: LOVE the Cheesesteak Mac and Spicy Cheese N Pasta - have these most days! I usually add a tsp of FF sour cream and it's like eating a home made casserole or Hamb Helper! The Veggie Joe is ok - it's a bit sweet, but again I add the tsp of FF Sour Cream and it's ok. Soups: Creamy chicken & Veg is very good and the zesty chili is very good. Haven't tried the others yet. Like Jen I stay away from the chicken entrees as the reviews on them are pretty scary!!

Breakfasts: LOVE the Choc and Berries cereal - have that just about every day with my 60 cal Almond Breeze! YUM!! The Hot cakes are good too. Oatmeal was ok - ate it, but didn't order more of it. Too scared to try the omlets!

Desserts: Double Choc cake to me tastes like cocoa'd eggs - but is tolerable with a dollup of FF Cool whip. The Cheesecake is ok - flavor is good but mixed according to directions it's too thick and chewy (will try it again with more water!) and again adding ff cool whip! Caramel pudding is ok - again with the thick chewy texture so will remake it with more water should make it better. Haven't tried the other puddings yet.

I think that's pretty much everything I've tried..HTH!!

I've been on a vanilla WS shake kick. I grew to like it enough to order 4 boxes today with the $10 off promo code they emailed today.

I don't know if it's that I was sick of chocolate, but lately I wanna have the vanilla more often. Had two of them today.

Right now, the Chocomint is the most appetite suppressing. Someting about the MINT aspect makes me NOT feel like eating after it, so I like it for my last shake of the day. It's like the "after dinner mint" psychological effect. :)

I ordered CLICK espresso shot protein mix cause it had great reviews and Amazon has it on special. I wanted a real coffee, stronger mocha option. Will see if I like that.

But it makes me laugh that the shake I thought I'd like least is right now the one I want to drink the most (ie vanilla). Tastes like melted vanilla ice cream to me....

I had some Kay's Naturals Better Balance protein chips in chili nacho cheese tonight with some lowfat cheese as my late snack, and I like those. Nice crunch. Decent flavor. I'd reorder those from Diet Direct. In fact, I find the Kay's Naturals snacks and cookie bites and such are much better than the WS ones in terms of texture and taste.

I had 1/3 of the bag for 55 cals and I think it was 5 grams of protein (the whole serving is 10). It has fiber and no gluten. Nice. Goes well with the WS tomatoey based entrees (veg joe, beans chili, spicy cheese pasta). Worth looking into...

The Kay's Natural pretzels are better than the WS ones, too, in terms of flavor.

I am so glad I read this thread. I had NO idea that there were other puddings! I am so new to the Wonderslim diet. And I saw the puddings and shakes because I have those. But I didn't realize in addition to those there were caramel and lemon. Darned if I didn't just get a box of food today! But I am for sure ordering these next time. I can't wait to try the lemon and caramel. They seem to be the fave on the diet direct site. Thank you SO much for posting these!!!

I wanted to add my reviews. I am solely WS and new so I haven't tried alot.

Cinnamon Crunch Cereal. I really like it. I use fat free milk and it's delicious and even though the portion seems so tiny I find I am actually full after I eat it.

Berries and Chocolate Cereal YUM I love this one. Again, tiny portion, but it's doing the job. I am not hungry until my next meal which is my shake/fruit.

Vegetable Cheese Omelet Avoid this one. It's just disgusting. I choke it down, but it's not pleasant at all. And if you over cook it, it's worse. I add a dash of hot sauce and a tiny bit of realy grated Parmesan to sort of give it more taste. But the texture and the taste are almost unbearable.

Chocolate Cream Pudding/Shake
Cocomint Pudding/Shake I love these. They both are really delicious as shakes. The only thing I have noticed is sometimes the powder is stubborn when mixing. I haven't tried them as a pudding yet.And after reading this thread I am going to try them blended with ice. Sounds delicious. As shakes, very yummy and satisfying. I might even blend my chocolate with my fruit (banana) .

Protein Bars
I have tried the Peanut Butter Crisp and Chocolate so far. And both I really enjoy. I am not much of a sweets person. But when I crave chocolate this hits the spot. I also have the chocomint that I can't wait to try.

Strawberry Smoothie this is so good mixed with cold water or milk. Either way it's delicious! I love this one as a way to get away from the chocolate.

Zesty Vegetable Chili I just got this today and decided to have it for lunch. 1 tiny amt of fat free shredded cheese and sour cream and this was the perfect lunch!

Steak and Cheese Mac I really like this one. The beef is like chipped beef and what I do to mine is add a bit of oregano or seasoning and a couple dashes of hot sauce and it fills me up nicely for lunch. The portion size on this one seems larger than the others. Once you add a little to it, it's very palatable.

Spice Mac and Cheese I don't care for this one. The taste is ok, but it never seems to cook just right for me and the portion is tiny. It's not bad tasting. I just wish it had a tiny bit more to it and that it cooked to the same consistency of the Steak Mac and Cheese. It always seems over cooked. Will probably order something else next time.

Hot Chocolate I got this in my sample pack and it's really not bad. I actually added mine to my coffee for some flavor in the morning and it's very good!

Pretzel bows I got these in my sample pack again. I ate them the 1st time because I was wanting some crunchy, but they have a weird texture I can't seem to get past. I won't be ordering these. They also have strange taste that I can't seem to put my finger on.

But so far, I am very happy on Wonderslim. And I am just drinking lots and lots of water. And Crystal Light if I need some flavor.

I've been posting on the regular WS thread, but thought this might be a better spot to add some reviews:

Strawberry Smoothie Really yummy. This might be one of my favorites. I should add that I was a fan of that fake strawberry milk as a kid, and this has a bit of that taste.

Pancakes I really liked them. They cooked up fast, and it was really nice to have a more regular breakfast while my family was having their usual Saturday morning eggs and bacon.

Berry Smoothie Okay, but not one of my favorites. Given that I really like the strawberry, not sure what it is about the berry that I don't like. The flavor just doesn't hit me right.

Creamy Chicken Soup Pretty tasty. Some people have mentioned that they don't like the soups, but I find them filling and okay tasting. I add extra peas to give it some freshness. All the soups do taste REALLY salty to me. Good news is that I am easily able to down a full 12 ounce bottle of water after I eat one.

Chocomocha Shake Was worried about this one, but loved it. I'm a big coffee fan, and was worried this would get messed up in a diet shake. But the mocha taste was really mild. Would like to try this with some crushed ice next time.

Double Chocolate Cake I don't think I've ever said this about anything chocolate, but blagh. Maybe my expectation were too high? The smell was good, but the taste was really lacking. I was only able to get it down with the help of some sf cool whip.

Thanks for all the posts! This thread has been so helpful as I get started!

Just wanted to add that I bagged up all the remnants of WonderSlim (and I had a lot left). I haven't eaten them in a while, and I realized I'm never gonna eat them as I've given up eating "processed fake food". I had considered a food pantry--but I don't think I'd want to pass on unhealthful processed stuff.

I am going to pass to the food pantry the stuff that has actual, real food in it that I won't eat these days as I'm gluten-free. Someone can benefit from that.

Just a disclaimer, as I no longer recommend WS or any diet that relies on processed, not-real food.

Feeling better, still losing, downt o 181 as of today. 21 pounds to go to goal. Yeah!

Best of health to everyone...EAT REAL FOOD!
