I started my Metformin (Glucophage) this weekend. So far, no side effects. I took everyone's advice and take it with my meals. After this week, I'll start taking my two doses a day, with lunch and dinner.

I love my metformin as a Insulin Resistance person. I take 500 mg/day and I beleive within a week I felt hunger suppressed which is good for me (everyone is affected differently). Good luck on it.
