Default Let me tell you why I am so happy right now.

Just want to share...

I started this weight loss project on June 29. I could barely walk a mile and my hands swelled so much after exercise that I had to take of my wedding ring and couldn't ball up my fist. And I was in so much pain that I thought I had a stress fracture in my hip. I even went to the doctor. No stress fracture. Just fat and out of shape.

Weeeellllll..... Three days ago, I finished walking/running my first 5k!!! Yep. And I have walked/run three miles every evening since then. I do C25k (I hate it, but I'm used to it so I'm sticking with it) and then continue to do short running and long walking intervals until I complete 3 miles. Every morning I walk 2 miles.

Today I felt like I finally hit my stride. At the end of my evening intervals tonight, I was still going strong and feeling great!

After just 2.5 weeks of exercise, I feel stronger and happier. Plus, my asthma is nonexistent and the swelling is completely gone. The only soreness is from working hard, not overuse or stress (I've learned to tell the difference between the two). I've stopped starving myself and eat full, balanced meals.

Amazing what getting off the couch can do for you!!!!

that is truly amazing what a couple of weeks will do for your overall fitness. I remember when i first started jogging i could only go for a couple of yards, and i was 22.

Congratulations on your success!

I experienced this also during the first few weeks I excersized. It doesnt happen anymore and I didnt even think about it til I read this post. It really is amazing what a bit of movement will do.

I still just walk fast. Ive tried jogging and can only do it in short distances. I envy the joggers that pass me with what seems like no effort while Im breathing really hard! Im still losing the weight though and I just hit 214 which I havent weighed since 9th grade!

WOW!!! I just checked in on this thread b/c I'm looking for support and I happen to be 30-something... You're amazing!! My hands always swell when I walk, and right now there is NO WAY I could run. It just kills me. I think you have just inspired me to start walking every day! Keep doing what you are doing!
