GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there are two of them today. I really like the first one, but both are good, esp. for those of us who are having rough times:)
How is it possible to move confidently toward the future after experiencing a disappointing setback? By learning from that disappointment, and knowing that you can adjust your approach accordingly.
If confidence resulted only from success, no one would ever have the confidence to reach success in the first place. In all confidence there is necessarily an element of faith.
Certainly past successes can add to your confidence, but past disappointments do not have to erode that confidence. Because you have the wonderful ability to improve with each effort. You can make adjustments and apply the lessons you've learned through experience. Those valuable lessons are yours to use in a positive way no matter what has happened before.
The powerful fact is that every experience can add to your confidence. The cheers and the sneers, the compliments and the complaints, the wins and the losses can all build confidence.
Take the best from what has happened and add the best of what can be. Move positively forward with a realistic, well-founded, ever-increasing confidence.
-- Ralph Marston

THE MOMENT YOU BEGIN
Even though today may be far from perfect, it is the perfect place from which to move positively and powerfully ahead. Even though the timing is not completely ideal, this is indeed the ideal time to begin doing whatever you can to get wherever you desire to go.
The moment you begin to take positive, effective steps toward your goal, you are no longer behind. Because the direction in which you are headed is vastly more significant than where you happen to be.
This is the moment you can begin to live at a higher level of commitment to those things you truly value. You've learned from the past what has always held you back and what has always moved you forward, so go with those things you know will move you ahead.
There are challenges, to be sure, and not everything will go the way you planned. But that's no reason to deny yourself the outstanding opportunity that stands right now in front of you.
You have the power, right this moment, to make this day one of those days that you'll always look back upon with satisfaction and delight. The day will quickly pass by, regardless of what you do with it, and with a little extra effort you can indeed make it great.
-- Ralph Marston

Good monday morning, all! I missed y'all over the weekend. Hope all had a great one. DH and I stayed home sick...just a cold but pretty sore throats. We're giving it a try going back to work this morning and we'll see if we make it through the day.
My positive thought for the day: This great SB support board is the greatest and most enjoyable way I have ever seen to stay motivated with a lot of sweet, precious friends...let's stay close and enjoy this journey every day together -- it will make it so much more fun and friendships will last a lifetime!
FIRST OF ALL, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEBBIE!!! Sorry it is a little belated. I had to laugh at your comments about ELI's gift certificate -- Larry does me the same way...and I know a whole lot of other men exactly the same way! I wonder why they are this way? Most of us women take great pains to think over what to give them for special occasions...don't they know how much it means to us for them to at least think about something to give us? Will they ever change? Guess not...now, about the nose piercing...it's not the age thing that bothers me...it's blowing your nose! I think I'd pierce about anything before I'd pierce my nose...but to each her own! If that's what would be fun to remember this Birthday by, you go, girl!
Solshine, glad to hear of your favorite sweeteners...I haven't tried Agave yet but hope to soon. I like Splenda, though.
Jack-K, you were wishing your week ended Thursdays like mine do. Well, it doesn't exactly end there...I work my full week Monday through Thursday and I clean my home on Fridays. I had always wanted to have a weekday to clean house so my weekends could be free and when I went to work where I do, they allowed me the "flex" hours...and I do love it! But I work harder at home Fridays than any other day of the week!
Red1, glad to hear where Ridgecrest is...sounds like you are far enough out of the booming metropolis to benefit. I lived in the Hollywood area from birth until I was 31 years old...the community was called Toluca Lake...the only family member left there is a brother and since we aren't close, I won't be out to California ever again...I just don't miss the smog and cement and HUGE population...I'm a country girl now! But I'd sure love to meet you...so if you're ever this direction, you be sure to let me know and we'll plan to get together.
Better get to work but I'll check in with y'all later.

Good morning everyone!
I had a good OP weekend--was able to cook all my own meals and therefore control my menus. Today I hit the road again. I do the best I can, but I'm afraid I make too many compromises--especially when it comes to lunch. Dinner seems to go much better for some reason. Anyway I started off with a good protein laden breakfast (egg and cheese omlet). If I eat protein in the AM then I tend not to be so hungry by lunchtime.
Ok everyone we need to work together on this little project.
This is the week that Heartmom takes Boogie to PA for his surgery. I'm hoping the fact that we haven't heard anything (I hope I haven't missed a post), means that they are on their way. Boogie's surgery is the 10th (Thursday). Let's put all our good wishes and prayers together and send them out to Heart, Boogie and Ashley all week!
Heartmom--you, Boogie, and Ashley remain in my prayers. Please let us know when you can how things are going. I'm praying for a successful surgery and a safe trip. God be with you.
MM Monday thought--I was reading in this month's Prevention about a woman that watched the 9-11 attacks and realized that if she had had to go down 70-80 flights of stairs in order to get out of the building, she would have probably never escaped. I know I'm in that category. This woman responded by spending the last year walking and getting into shape. How many of us are not in good enough shape to handle the emergencies our own lives produce? I know I'm not--I'm better off than I was two years ago, but I could still do better. What would it take--a peffect body? No, but losing even 10% of the weight we are carrying around now (for those of us not at goal) would make a tremendous difference. How about a challenge? 10%--that's all. For me thats about 24 lbs. No deadline--I'm just going to try to eat healthy and to walk and to get another 10% of weight off my body. Who's with me?????

Good Monday Morning Everyone:wave:
You all best be happy there's no smellavision on the computer, boy, do I stink as I sit here! WHEW!:fr: Got in my walk this morning and decided to get in a post while I cool down (and ferment) a while. Was able to get in those 4.5 miles in 50:53 today - still brutal out there!
Woke up tired :tired: today so it was hard to get me motivated to go out, but out I went!
If anyone could post more than one answer on this weeks poll, sorry, I couldn't change it to multiple choice after I had submitted it the first time, so just put your highest level achieved.
Okay gals, I'm making this a short goodmorning post and I'm going to TRY and work on the recipe boards for an hour or so, before I have to leave and get a few errands done (and eat something). If you haven't a clue what I'm talking about, please read my post from yesterday (Sunday).
Will check in later!
Have a wonderful week!

We had a fantastic weekend last week. Thursday night we went to the deer lease. This is my first year to go hunting or even camping. The kids had a blast. I didn't really get to see anything while I was hunting but it was nice to be outside. It was HOT. We kept hoping a cold front would come through and cool things down a little.
I didn't get to exersice in the traditional way. But you had to walk to the outhouse. Sometimes walk to the deer stand. And over all just be busy. I lost 3 pounds while we where there. There were tons of munchies but I didn't do too bad in that area because we were talking so much and just having a great time.
Yesterday I got on the scales to make sure I hadn't done too badly while on vacation...when I saw 152.5 I was jumping up and down...woo hoo. That would have been 147 on the scales I first started using way back when...of course they are in the scale grave yard....but it still felt great to see something under 154....so that was officially my new all time low since starting on plan about 18 months ago.
Deb...I think it's neat you want a nose ring. Don't let age deter you from anything you might want to do. I think sometimes we put age limits on things and stop ourselves from doing things we might really enjoy.
LKF...you are such an encouragement and joy to read. I look forward to your post everyday.
Fillise...I'll add my prayers to yours. I thinks its a great idea to remember Boogie and his family this week and in the weeks to come.
Melf....I'm sorry that you daughter lost her home but am so glad that you are all safe.
Happy birthday Sef and BigK this week. May the whole week be wonderful and YOUR week. ((hugzz))
I wish I had more time to respond this morning but we are trying to get back into our school routine. The kids are a little hyper but doing better than I thought they would.
Everyone have a great day. Eat well, play well and just enjoy.

Mornin' y'all. Well our week is off to a rocky start. I'm home with James this morning. He has strep and scarlet fever. He's feeling much better than he did yesterday, but no school for him today. He started feeling bad Saturday and I had plans to take him to the dr Sunday afternoon-our pedi clinic is open 2-4 on Sun. Anyway, about 4 o'clock Sun. a.m. he came in our room and said he couldn't swallow and was scared he wouldn't be able to breath, so I took him to the ER right away. He has to go back to his dr on Tues or Wed to find out exactly what the culture shows. Like I said, a rough way to start the week, but he's feeling OK now.
On a better note, Dennis is working.:cb: His old boss called him Fri and asked him to come back to work. He had left that job to try and get his home inspection business started. He's working full time for two weeks then will probably go to part time.
Thanks for the bday wishes for Sarah. We all had a good time.
COUNTRY: Your camping trip sounds fun. We're having cooler weather here today. Maybe it will move your way.
MELF: Glad to hear you're OK. Sorry to hear about your DD's house, but so thankful they are safe.
FILLISE: Joining in with you on prayers for Boogie, Ashley and Heart.
James is paging me. Lots of hugs and attention today.

Good Morning! Just a quick note. I had to get up early to take my daughter to meet the group going to a Tech student conference about 3 hours away from here. They had an awfully nice bus! It was so early, there wasn't any traffic yet! I came home, had to fix the stupid DSL, then crashed. I slept two hours, and now I feel better. We had more rain over the weekend. It was so muggy, my hubby told me to turn the a/c back on. I didn't argue... :)
Anyone know where Gracious is?

GOOD MONDAY MORNING TO YOU ALL!!!!
This will be a quickie as I'm at work, and we all know what that means
SUSAN: I'm with you about Boogie..God bless him, he's been through so much already in his little life...
I'm also with you on the 10%...just so happens that 10% is my goal at WW too, pluse my WW buddy here at work and I have started walking around the mall where our office is...Since there are no "shopping stores" ...only offices, the area is pretty clear to walk...I'll keep you posted on my progress...
DEB...look on google for "virus scan" and pick the McAfee free scan....just to be sure. I really don't know if the virus could cause the freeze...it atacked my address book and attached itself to the OPEN FLY joke that I sent to some of you...but it was also
other places in my files...the scan will get them and tell you what to do when they are done...
GOTTA GO...I'll see y'all after work!

Happy Monday Gang!
I thought I was going to get on the board last nite, I really needed some support and was ready to start eating, but after hooking up my computer I couldn't get it to recognize the keyboard. Computers can be sooo frustrating. So I said the heck with it and shut it down. So i got my butt out and walked to Meijers and bought myself 2 pairs of slacks and a top. Better than foods and lasts longer. So I am so far behind. I have read all the posts, but not going to be able to respond since I have several things to do at work today (imagine that). So forgive me I am starting new today with the posts.
Bob, Oh my Gawd! what a game. I couldn't believe 6 ot's. I came home and my SIL 2B was screaming at the Tv so I stayed up and watched the end. Exciting. I needed you Sat nite. DD & I went to rent a movie. I think we were in there for 45 minutes trying to find something. Either they had seen everything or they wern't any good. I was looking for a chick flick since it was girls nite, finally ended up with the Rookie with Dennis Quaid. It was good. I just hate when I go and can't find anything. WTG on the walking. Your buddy sure will keep you in line. LOL UK was off this weekend.
Gator, What happened to those Gators? Did you go to the game?
LKF, Hope you and your Dh are feeling better. Those summer colds can be tough. I know what you mean by cleaning on Saturdays. I hated working all week and spending my weekends cleaning. Especially now that the kids are grown, DH always wants to play on the weekends and I didn't have time to do it all. So I have a cleaning lady who comes every other week. Well worth the money. Plus I HATE to clean. I used to clean on the odd week, but not any more. I guess I'm getting older and just don't care that much. I do keep it picked up and that is 80% of it anyway.
Fillise, I'm with you on the prayers for Heartmom and Boogie. Especially on Thursday, we need to pray hard. I hope she is able to keep us posted. How interesting about the lady from 9-11. That is so true. Before now, I couldn't have saved myself. I'm with you on that too.
Red1, Where did you get the recipe for the jalepeno & bacon things?
Melf, So glad you are ok. Sorry about your DD's home. Glad she was not at home. Home's can be replaced. Be thankful they are safe. Lucky you get to have them with you all the time now! That is a good thing isn't it?
Deb, Loved the MM Today. Very inspiring. If you're like me, you gotta make yourself get out there. I'm afraid if I don't tomorrow will be easier to bypass and the next day easier and before I know it, I'm not going out at all. It was only 60 here, with a high of 62 today and tomorrow. Very nice.
Country, 3 more lbs. How awesome. You are doing great. 82 downs and only 13 to go.
Music, Scarlet fever? I didn't think anyone got that anymore. Hope he is feeling better soon. Happy that Dennis got his job back. Have a great day.
Monet, Our a/c is out again so I said the heck with it and opened the windows. Only 62 here today. Sort of nice. Hope you have a great day.

It's going to be an interesting week for me. Going back in for another block on Wed. morning which has the tendency to put me out of commission for a few days. Hubby still trying to get a job. Kids are well, although allergy/asthma season has begun.
Heartmom: Thinking of you and Joseph.
Music: I hope the antibiotics get in there and kick this thing for your little James. I'll be thinking of you.
Happy birthday Sef and BigK - hope it's a great week for both of you.
Eating is better for me. Still maintaining between 165.5 and 167.5 and it's TOM. Trying to get down to 160. (That's correct, I gave in and stood on the scale)
Have a good Monday.

Checking back to last week's post I needed to answer a couple of you.
Bob - I have emailed Nance too, sent her cards, she's not responding to me either. Sure do miss her.
Deb - I'd forgotten that my Bio wasn't there any longer, I'll do a brief one today.
Melf - Good to hear you and yours are well!

Fillisse, I am with you all the way in praying together for heartmom and all the family with Joseph -- Jack-K said especially Thursday so that must be when the surgery is.
Heartmom, please let us hear from you whenever you can grab a minute to tell us how things are going; in the meanwhile, feel our prayers at such a difficult time.
Country, you are every bit as much an encouragement to me as you feel I am...all of you are incredible support for me and I already need every one of you in my life, even though I can't always post to each of you...all of you mean so much to me. And hey, I am so proud of you for resisting all those munchies at the deer lease (I have no idea what a deer lease is but since I am on the deer's side, maybe I don't want to know...). Wow!!! 82 pounds in 18 months!!! Now THAT'S impressive! Talk about encourager!!! You and your weight loss encourage me IMMENSELY!!!
Jack-K, thanks for wishing me and DH well...we're not nearly as sick as you were a couple of weeks ago so we should be mended soon...and it helps to read your sweet wishes! A cleaning lady is even better than staying home doing it yourself! That's a great idea! Wish I could find someone out in the sticks who would come clean my house! Hee hee!!! Enjoy the cool weather...it is coming our way by tonight.
Music teach, so sorry to read about James with strep and scarlet fever...yikes! Bless his heart, he's a sick little man with all that. I pray he will be better really soon. Glad to read Dennis is working with the past boss a bit.
I have been learning how to cook in a crock pot since I gave up my microwave a couple of weeks ago. Actually, the food is pretty good! DH just loves it because he loves all the flavors striking through from slow cooking. I picked up a cute recipe book at Wal-Mart called "Fix It and Forget It Cookbook" -- it's loaded wit great recipes that are perfectly acceptable for us SB'ers.
More later!

I want to thank Deb this morning for the MM. I needed to hear it, my Dr. tells me I need to loose my weight because I am a walking time bomb:bomb: as he puts it. I think of loosing weight and I get hungry and lazy. I guess it is a good thing that I dont have a car or off to the store I would go.
Thanks for the advice of putting lemon in my water, it still didnt quite do the trick so I put a little crystal lite in the water, just enough to give it a flavor. Is this ok? If not I will try a little more lemon.
I forget the names but I hope that you have a wonderful birthday this week.
I do remember Country's name because I love camping and hunting but since I moved to Florida I dont go our very much. The bugs are two big and hungry here. I have become an air conditioner monster where the bugs dont roam. They dont have big bugs in Idaho where I am originally from.
I also want everyone that needs a prayer that I will add you to my list.
Thanks you everyone,

Good afternoon everyone!
I can't believe that last week went by so quickly and I never did get back on to post. So, guess it is best to start fresh today.
First, an update on Tranquil's London adventure. She is having a wonderful time with her DS and Gram. They have been seeing lots of sights and enjoying everything, such as: A boat ride up the Thames River to Richmond to visit the Hampton Court Palace, a play called Bombay Dreams which she said was utterly incredible, that made them want to dance their way out of the theater, singing the songs. A show with Japanese Drummers, many museums and parks. Lunches and dinners at many types of restaurants: a famous Indian restaurant named khans, a french restaurant where she had a dinner "to die for", in her words. The meal included a chicken pot pie with puff pastry topping, a sticky toffee pudding that was incredible, and a bottle of wine. She said there was so much sugar in the dessert that it made her swell. And of course, the most important thing to do in London, SHOPPING! She says her feet are very sore and she will have to crawl when she gets back home. We've been in touch everyday through phone calls and email! She is the only person I know with international calling on her cell phone plan. She comes home this Wednesday, so I'm sure she will be sharing more info about her trip.
As for me, I have been busy with taking care of everyone's pets and houses, including my own. Having 5 greyhounds in the house is no trouble since they are such big couch potatoes and sleep all day anyway. It can be a bit tricky to walk them all at once though. I just make sure it is a night walk so that my neighbors can't see the crazy lady tangled up in the leashes of 5 big dogs. I
take them for walks in two groups when I'm not too tired. I've also been busy with the pet sitting that I do for my regular job, however, I go to client's homes to do that. We also added a new pet to our family this weekend, a precious 5 week old, part Himalayan kitten. She has 7 toes on one paw, and six on the other, with beautiful blue eyes. She is so tiny and cute that I just couldn't say no to my DD. We are thinking about naming her Pinkie. What's one more tiny kitty around the house anyway, right?? We are keeping her in my bedroom, away from the hounds until they get used to her. Don't want them thinking she is something to chase and catch.
I have been staying OP with my eating and my weight is back down to 211, which is my lowest weight I had reached before having problems with so much bloating. So, hopefully, the scale will start moving down again.
LKF, hope you and DH are feeling better today. I've been cooking with a crock pot for years and just love it. It is so nice to come home to an already cooked meal! Please share any good recipes that you find. Your posts are always so encouraging to everyone and a pleasure to read.
Fillise, I'm with you on the prayers and good wishes for Boogie this week. I enjoyed your story of the woman that watched the 9-11 attack. I'm also with you on losing 10% of my weight. My mini goal is to be below 200 by Thanksgiving, which is only 11 pounds away. Thanks for the challenge as I needed a new one right now.
Deb, I'm glad to hear that you at least got a gift for your birthday. I would of been there to help you celebrate if Sabrina hadn't plannd her trip during your birthday, the nerve of her! We will surely makes plans for it next year. Hey, we can have a late celebration in January, for yours and mine! The description of how bad you smelled this morning - not a good image to have in my mind when trying to eat!
Country, Sounds like you had a lot of fun last week. What is the deer lease that you mentioned? Do you deer hunt with your bow?Congrats on reaching your all time low weight!
:cp: :cp:
music, hope James is feeling better. It is so scary to have to rush a child to the ER in the early morning hours.
Monet, we are still having the same muggy weather here also. My pool water is still warm enough to swim in.
BOB - the Gators might have beat themselves this weekend, However, My JAGUARS ROCK!! Can't wait til they come Growling into Tennessee next weekend!
Jack-K, :grouphug: Bless your heart with all your troubles lately - AC problems, computer, flooding in basement. I think you made a great choice on the clothes instead of the food! Way to go girl!
melf, I'm so glad that you and your family are safe. I'm so sorry about the loss of their home. Even though belongings can be replaced, it must still be devastating to lose everything. Sabrina had asked about you last week. She was concerned about the storm and those in its path, even though she was away having a good time.
ladykwak, drinking water used to be difficult for me also. I have found that the more I drink, the more I actually crave it. What part of Florida do you live in? I am in Jacksonville. The bugs we have here can be nasty. I've been here all my life so guess I am used to them. Have you encountered the big, flying roaches yet?
Think I'm caught up for now and will try to stay that way this week. I have to work a few hours at the pet food store this afternoon so have to get going. It is fun to have a job where I can take one of my hounds to work with me.
Take Care,
Wendy

ladykwak, I didn't get to post to you earlier to welcome you so here's a big WELCOME from me, too!!! You will find all kinds of encouragement on this Board -- I just joined it a couple of months ago and I already can't do without all these wonderful new friends! Now, a word about Crystal Lite (assuming it is sugar-free, of course): I love Crystal Lite, too. Only a few days ago, I learned that aspartame (also known by many other titles like "Nutrasweet" and "Equal") isn't the best sweetener for your health. Here on this SugarBuster's Support Board, we recommend products like "Splenda" and "Agave." They are not so chemical-laden -- far more natural products. The whole idea behind SugarBusters (SB) is to try to get us back to consuming only healthy foods and liquids again. It just doesn't make sense to work hard at ridding your body of all the other processed foods and drinks only to add something like aspartame, which is nothing but a processed chemical. So if you can, get your drinks unsweetened and buy some Splenda or Agave to sweeten with -- then have all you want! Just this last weekend, I threw out all my Crystal Lite, went to the store and stocked up on my favorite flavors of Kool-Aid WITHOUT sugar, took it home, and added my own Splenda to it. It was great!
Now you're gunna find it troublesome to find sugarfree products that haven't added aspartame for sweetness -- welcome to the club! So if you have to consume something that has aspartame in it, it sure is better than having it with sugar...but I hope you can "wean" off all that artificially-sweetened stuff eventually...at least the stuff that has aspartame in it.
How does everyone else feel on this subject?

Good Monday afternoon everyone. Went to town this morning and got my flu shot. And then coffee with some friends. Bought a big bag of apples to make my sauce with this week. Went to a birthday party yesterday and was pleased I passed on the apple pie fresh out of the oven. But there was chili so I had some of that. Didn't get to walk this morning but am meeting my sis this evening for a walk at the campground. Its such a beautiful fall day it will be nice for that.
PRAYERS for Boogie and family!!!!! May God keep you in his hands...
ladykwak- Love your cat on your avatar.. You can do this way of eating... Just stick around here and take one day or one hour at a time...
LKF-I love to put stuff in the crock pot and forget it. You'll have to post some of the good recipes on here you've tried. And here in Missouri its such good weather for crock pot cooking now. Cool sunny fall.....
Idblond- I'm cheering for you to hit that 160.... You can do it.. I want to be there to.... I'm at 166.5
Jack-K- Yep those clothes are sooo much better than food and last sooo much longer. I got into a pair of black jeans I had put away and couldn't believe I had saved. I was sure thrilled and sure my butt looked so good... LOL.........
Bob- Love the picture, I think I need to live there.. Hope you have a great day at work..
CountryMom-Sounds like you had a great week-end. Is a deer lease a plot of land you deer hunt on?? Our weather has turned cool and you can see people getting there campers and stuff ready for deer hunting, which I think starts next week-end. My DH is building the first fire in our wood stove right now..
Debilli- Sounds like you're busy busy. Read your e-mail but I couldn't think of a way to improve on what you already had shown... Will have to go look after I post on this..
Fillise-I agree with you about prayers for Boogie and family... Great motivational speech....
Guess I'll go finish up here. Have a great day....

Wendy...the deer lease is a lot of acreage owned by the paper companies but leased out to a lease owner that lets you join. We just joined a nice lease this year. You can hunt deer and hogs. There are a lot of hogs that compete with the deer for food so it's important to get the hogs. They harvasted about 98 hogs one year and didn't even put a dent in them. I didn't see anything while in my stand but I did see a LARGE hog walk across the road on the way out. It's bow season here. Next month is gun season but I will still use my bow. It's more of a challenge to me. :) We are hopiing to fill our tags this year so we won't have to buy meat. Venision is like 90 something percent fat free....very healthy. Even the wild pigs are low in fat compared to domestic animals.
One of the members trapped a hog so we had some good fresh eats Friday night. Sorry to those of ya'll who don't care for hunting. I don't mean to offend anyone.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

Serene, I love reading your posts, too!!! Don't we have fun together here? And thanks for wishing my DH and I to be better -- we will be...it's just a yucky old cold. Hey, walking five large dogs...now I'd love a snapshot of that, even in the dark. But aren't they fun? One thing's for sure -- you can count all that walking and wrestling with them part of your exercise! I'm so proud of you for those scales showing you back down to where you are now -- if only I could be at the weight you are at RIGHT NOW!!!
Toni48 and Serene, y'all wanted to know some recipes I've already tried in my new crock pot. Well, last week was my first attempt and actually, so far, my favorite (my DH's, too). I took some lean, boneless pork chops out of the freezer (not even defrosted!) and laid them in the crock pot on top of 1 cup of brown Basmati rice (yum) UNCOOKED, and 2 1/2 cups of water. I added all kinds of my favorite flavorings, like onion salt, some regular salt, and garlic powder. I put the top on and turned it on low for 10 hours while I was at work! It was delicious!!! And the best part is that dinner was ready to eat when we got home!!! I love it. I think I'm gunna enjoy my new crock pot. I'll share more as I experiment!

Country, you are so sweet to be concerned that I was offended by your hunting...not at all, dear! I am just such an animal lover that I couldn't shoot one myself. I am proud that you eat the venison -- it's so good for you. I love the meat...just can't kill the animal myself.

Getting ready to head out. Got to get my nails done, then going to look for some shoes. Got to get home and get my walk in and eat some dinner, do my sit-ups, fool with that stupid computer (if you hear a crash, it's me throwing it out the window), and meet a friend at 9:00 to take her to Monday night football. A group of our friends (mostly males) meet at some place for football. I never go with DH, just think it's a man thing even though I love football. But my girlfriend is a huge Chicago Bears fan so she is going and her Dh is watching the kids, so she wants me to go with her. Oh well, soemthing to do to pass time. Except it's at a pizza place and there will be nothing for me to eat. I'm eating before hand, but the smell is going to kill me. I'll just have to tough it out.
Don't know if any of you all have noticed, but since I have lost my wt, my feet don't hurt near as bad as they used too. I do have the Ra in them, but I find I can wear some shoes other than the ugly support ones now. Can you lose wt in your feet. Just something else to look forward to if any of you have feet problems.
Idblond, Hope your DH finds a job soon. That has to be tough. Allergies are running rampart here too. DD has them and a virus on top of that and she is miserable (therefore, making me miserable) and I feel all that drainage in my throat. People probably wish I would quit clearing my throat all the time. Hope your shot goes ok. I really hope they help you in the long run. You'll be at that 160 before you know it. Just keep up the good work.
LKF, If you have any great crockpot meals, let me know. Always looking for new ideas for dinner, especially something easy.
Ladykwak, I hope that you are jumping right on in here especially if you are a walking time bomb. Do this for yourself. Have you read the SB book? I think it helps tremendously. I think the crystle lite is ok. My DD uses it too. I was never a big water drinker, but now can't drink anything but water. I always put a big lemon wedge in there and squeeze it hard. Best of luck tou you.
Serene, Thanks for the update on Tranquil. Sounds like a wonderful trip. I got a visual of you walking those 5 dogs. I don't know how you even walk in your home with those big dogs! And now yuo have a kitten. You are a glutten for punishment. WTG on getting back to 211. I hop eall your gyn problems ar over. I'm sure that scale will be going down, down, down. I bet Tranquil thinks you are alot thinner when she sees you. Your mini goal for Thanksgiving sounds great. It would be a wonderful feeling to be under 200 by then. I know when I did it, it felt like the world lifted. I know you can do it. I have a mini goal of my own. To be in the 150's by my cruise. I have 33 days and 6 lbs to go. I am hoping I can get there. We will strive toward those goals together.
Toni, I had to laugh about the jeans. I keep telling my DH that my butt looks no nice now too. I just agrees and goes on. Nothing wrong with a good opinion of yourself. Much better than the one I used to have. The chil was probably fine. If it had spaghetti in it, I would just count it as my carb and go on. Atleast you passed on the apple pie.
Country, I just can't imagine a woman out there killing deers and hogs. But more power to you. You go girl. My DH hunts ducks and geese, but I just can't eat them. He willb e bringing a cooler full home next weekend I'm sure.
Have a great nite everyone!

Hello all!
I am trying to post and read a little more than in the past few months. Hang in there with me. I have been tremendously busy and am trying to strike a balance between work, Southern Living at HOME, husband, and play/exercise.
Did go running a short 2 miles this morning before work, a big deal for me of late. Have had a hard time exercising with any regularity this summer and sleep has been a MAJOR problem :hypno2: . After finding a knot on my breast about a month ago I went to the doctor. The knot turned out to be a swollen lymph node :cp: , but the doc also talked to me about my sleeping problems and put me on a Rx temporarily to get me straightened out. Boy howdy has it! :faint: Better lving through chemistry! :D
Bill, Dixie (dog) and Mary-Ca =^..^= ("mary-kay" - cat) are all doing fine. Dixie has been dove hunting with her father and Mary-Ca has been hunting in the backyard! it was a :mouse:
Hockey season starts Wednesday nite and we're exciting. We have a 24 game plan and can't wait. Go Huuricanes! :twirly:
SLAH business has kept me busy and I've loved it. I am trying hard to win a trip to the Virgin Islands and am very close. I'll know the end of November if I've won it or not. If I am lucky enough to win I'll be there the week before the 1/2 marathon. I'll feel like a :queen: by the end of those two weeks.
It was good to get to see Fillise a few weeks ago and meet Belle. I hope to get to see you again soon Susan!
Well, time to go see the President's speech before Monday Night Football. Go Packers!
Peace,
FROG

Here's my MM contribution:
If my "needs" control me (even legitimate ones), then I am out of control.
Jack-K, No, I wasn't at the game. We had thought about going to Ole Miss last spring and check out The Grove, but decided to take an "at home" vacation instead. I was not too surprised to see the loss. I had seen the first 3 games and knew how bad the Gators had the potential to be. They certainly demonstrated it there in Miss. Fillise and BOB just didn't believe me and thought I was just yakkin', but that was what I had seen at the first 3 games, only this time it lasted the entire game!
I've been reading about "Midnight Madness" coming up soon. I guess the Wildcats are gearing up for another great season with Tubby and the powerful 'Cats. I hope y'all have a great season. It has been exciting to go to the UF-KY games because they are such high-tempo ball.
It's cooler here in Central Florida and just about time to turn off the old AC and open up the windows. Think we will do that this coming weekend.
I played golf today with my DH on a par 3 course near our home. I shot a 30, which is only 3 over par!! I was so excited because that is 6 strokes better that my previous best. I guess my DH brings out my best.

Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I've posted, so I thought I would post an update. Well, I have been very busy with a new job where I have been averaging 12+ hours a day. This new change in my life has brought about an eating crisis of sorts. For the first time since I started SB I have really messed up! The last week or so as been BINGE week for me. It is sooo much easier to eat fastfood for all my meals than to pack a lunch. I rationalize that I havent had the time to eat properly (I know its an excuse) but until I adjust to my new schedule (school and work). After 10 months of being completely chocolate free I finally fell of the wagon. I went so long without messing up and now I have had just about every type of food I should and have been avoiding for all this time. I have gained a few pounds back, but im worried that if I don't tackle this problem early it will lead to disaster! Anyway, I hope all of you are doing fine. Wish me luck, and of course, and suggestions you may have would be appreciated. Thanks!

Good Evening All
I've had a bit of a yucky day to-day. This morning I had to take my car in for servicing. I arrived there at 8.15 a.m. as arranged and expected to pick it up before 11.30. When I got back there they hadn't even touched the darn thing. I was really pissed as I usually play badminton Monday afternoon and I ended up missing it. Anyway I complained about it not being ready and I spoke to the service manager and he arranged a taxi for me to take me home and sent another one to pick me up when it was ready. Then they gave me a discount of $115 for not having it ready on time. I'd expected to pay about $450 and I ended up paying $332. So I guess it was worth missing badminton for $115 but I do miss the exercise. :smug: I was planning on going out to a movie with a friend this evening but she cancelled as she was called in to work. So I ended up going grocery shopping instead. A really exciting day. I think I will have to do my WATP tape before going to bed tonite. :jig: I've been strictly op to-day. Yesterday was a bad day. I was in a book store yesterday looking at a new book on the gi diet and came across a recipe for some granola type bars. So when I got home I couldn't wait to make the darn things. And guess what, I ate about half a dozen squares before going to bed last night and this morning I was up a couple of pounds. So I just had to get back op this morning. I've been eating really good for the past couple of weeks. I just don't know what makes me do these stupid things. :cbg: I just can't afford to make any of these goodies. We have a new Chinese grocery store just opened and they have these delicious pears. I've had Asian pears before, the ones that are yellow and look like a big apple, which I like. But these other ones I have tried are called Yali pears. They are green and look like a regular pear but they are so crisp and juicy and have a bit more flavor than the yellow ones. I also found some pluots. The first time I have seen these in the store and they are yummy too.
LKF - Hope you and dh are feeling better to-day. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your crockpot recipes when you try them. The one with the pork chops and brown rice sounds good. I may give that a try later this week. I did a pork roast in the crockpot a couple of weeks ago. I think someone had posted the recipe but I forget who. If I remember correctly it was just a lean pork roast with some seasoning and apple sauce added. It was delish.
Fillise - I'm with you in keeping HeartMom and Boogie and family in our prayers all week. Also liked the idea of aiming for a 10% loss. That would be 20 lbs for me.
HeartMom - I hope everything goes well for Boogie this week and his surgery is a success. Will be keeping you and Boogie in my thoughts.
Serene - Thanks for filling us in on Tranquil's trip. It sounds like she is having a wonderful time. I'm sure she'll need lots of rest when she gets back. Have you checked out the website for the show she saw BOMBAY DREAMS? If you go there you can hear some of the songs from the show. http://www.bombaydreamstheshow.com/index.html. It sounds like a fab show. I would love to see you walking those five big greyhounds down the road. That must be quite a feat. I like the name Pinkie for a cat. We used to have a cat with that name when the kids were little, and she was a cute little thing.
Deb - If you would really like a nose piercing then go for it. I don't think age should have anything to do with it. I just couldn't imagine having anything stuck up my nose.
CountryMom - Congrats on being able to lose while away for the weekend. I guess those walks to the outhouse must have helped. :)
Music teach - Sorry to hear James is sick. It's not very often you hear about scarlet fever these days. That must have been scary if he was having trouble breathing. Hope he is better soon.
Monet - Gracious was having her parents visit from Ontario. I don't know how long they were to be staying but she did say that she probably wouldn't be on the board while they were visiting.
Jack-K - Good for you choosing to go shopping to keep away from the food. The enjoyment you will get wearing the new clothes will last longer than any satisfaction you would have got from eating due to stress. Hope you can get your computer hooked up and working soon. Lucky you having a cleaning lady. You can send her over here when she has finished your place.. I've had foot problems in the past and usually wear an orthotic in my shoe but I have noticed a difference since losing the weight. And yes you can lose weight in your feet. It hasn't made any difference in the shoe size but some of my shoes do feel loser than they used to. So there's another reason for losing the weight and keeping it off.
Ldblond - Hope your treatment goes well. Good for you maintaining. I know you would sooner be losing but it certainly beats a gain.
Toni48 - WTG on resisting that fresh baked apple pie. That must have taken some willpower.
Frog - Hi. It's good to see you posting again. That would be fantastic if you could win the trip to the VI. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Bye.
Marie.

Rosalie, good to hear from you! And thanks for the good idea about the pork roast -- yum! Y'all really must try the pork chops and brown basmati rice recipe...it was great -- and the same would hold true, I'm sure, for using a pork roast like Rosalie recommended! It should cook together just fine with all the great seasoning.
More later!

Brrrrrr. A little chilli here this morning. I had to turn on the furnace to get the chill out of the house.
haven't been on on a while, don't have much time now, but had to get a couple of things in.
DEB--Happy Belated Birthday! :gift: :hat: :hb:
HEARTMOM---My thoughts are with Boogie, you and your family. :grouphug:
Something GOOD:D is happening! I jumped on the scale this morning and I'm down another pound to 165!!! I couldn't believe the numbers! I just have to start toning up the flabby areas.
I'm hoping to see that number again for WIW.
This is a double wammy weekend. It's our Thanksgiving weekend PLUS my DS's birthday. I'm combining both. And since I'm doing the cooking, I'm making sure there will be lots of good stuff for me to eat. I will be trying a wee piece of :hb: I know I won't be able to resist. But I'm making this a "planned" cheat so hopefully I won't overdo it.
Gotta go. I'm finishing the tile backsplash in my kitchen (I only started it 4 or 5 years ago) and I want to sew new covers for my couches. And I have to clean this joint before the crowd this weekend.
Hope all of you are doing well.

Good Morning.... I stopped in yesterday to see what was going on but didn't get a chance to post.
My weight is up a couple today. I think it is the corn chips that I ate over the weekend. Oh ya and the margaritas. I indulged to much this weekend. Funny how you can tell yourself oh a few won't hurt. Boy that isn't the truth at all. Well it's back on the wagon for me.
Deb - The MM was very good today. I printed up to give to my daughter. With everything that is going on in her life she need some good encouragement.
Jack-K - The recipe for the Jalepeno's is on the recipre board under appetizer "Stuffed Jalepenos". Try them they are the best. The spicier the pepper the better.
LKF - Sorry you won't be coming to CA again. I can understand your feelings about the city. That is why I don't even like to go visit. To many people. When I was younger I enjoyed to go there but any more I'd rather just stay home. We do go south to visit our friend in LA so you never know I might get to your house someday. Hope you're feeling better.
Heartmom - I am praying for a steady hand and quick recovery. Also that you will have peace during the surgery time.
Well ladies I want to talk to all but I have to get ready for work. I have to figue out how to get in my posts and not wait until the morning when I always run out of time.

Good Tuesday Morning!
Going to be a quickies here. Just got in from my walk/jog. Did the 4.5 miles in 53:04. Wasn't the greatest today, my left knee was bothering me, really painful, guess it's just old age:shrug:
ELI is off today, still asleep in there. I am going to get ready and get in the shower and get ready for a day with him. No great plans, maybe get in a movie if we can, not sure what to see. Don't have to be back to p/u Lauren from school til 5pm since she's staying after for Drama and Michael is getting a ride home with my Sister.
I worked on the recipe boards yesterday. As you all know, I started out with the most important recipe board, the DESSERTS!!!:spin: I was able to get through Jan. 2001, but there's still lots more to do and it's just going to take some time to complete this task til I can move on to another board. Bear with me everyone, this just has to get done and I've got to devote some of my posting here to working on the recipes. At least now, if someone wants a cookie recipe, they can just go to the board that has the baked goods on it. It will be a lot easier to locate recipes that you may be wanting to try or find.
TONIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST Hope you can all make it. I thought I had a meeting tonight but I haven't heard anything about it, so I'm taking it's not happening. So, unless there's a child who so desperately needs the computer during that 45 minute span, I plan on being in the room.
And of course, don't forget, though many of us would like to do so, TOMORROW IS WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY! I wish you all, myself included, luck with the metal monster.
I'll check in later this evening. I hope you all have a fabulous day!

Congratulations, Zanne, on the weight loss down to 165! You sound like a busy gal! I'll bet that makes it hard to stick with SB...so that weight loss is probably even more spectacular than I think!
Rosalie, this must be the time for everyone's car to break down...dh had to take ours to be serviced today and I imagine it will cost a pretty penny, too. Glad you got a price break, though.

1. Everyone around you has an attitude problem.
2. You're adding chocolate chips to your cheese omelet.
3. The dryer has shrunk every last pair of your jeans.
4. Your husband is suddenly agreeing to everything you say.
5. You're using your cellular phone to dial up every bumper, sticker that

BOB, congratulations on a fabulous weight loss! That's a wonderful weight loss for one week. Tell me, when are you going to break the news to the class that you are using SB to lose it? Hi everyone
Deb - Just wanted to say what a great job you are doing on the recipe boards and I really appreciate all the work you are doing on this board. I just had to scan through some of the baking recipes and found just the recipe my dil had been asking for. So I am now making the Sunflower Crunchie cookies. Have them in the oven at this time so have to listen for the timer to beep. You had made a comment about this recipe using a lot of oil so I tried it with less oil, everything else the same. I will let you know how they turn out.
BOB - I'm doing the happy dance for you to-day. You must feel great losing almost 6 pounds this week. Keep it up - I knew you could do it. :cp:  :cb:
Have a good day everyone.

Happy Tuesday Gang!
Made it through football at the pizza place. Didn't even bother me. I took peanuts with me, but never got them out. Had 1 glass of ice tea.
Going out at lunch to look for some shoes. Couldn't find any last nite. Isn't that always the way, when you are looking for something can't find anything. :frown:
I started this post this morning and then had to run out to a job site for a meeting so just ow getting caught up.
Frog, I'm so glad you took aminute from your busy schedule to drop in. It is nice to hear from you again. Sounds like you are very busy and your SLAH is doing so well. I hope you win that trip!. Sorry you are having sleep problems, but at least you have found something that helps. I have trouble sleeping too but don't want to take anything since I take so much as it is. So glad the lump in your breast turned out to be nothing. That is a relief I'm sure. Drop in when you get some time.
Gator, I loved your MM. How true! Yes Midnight Madness will soon be here. I love UK basketball. Oh yes the UK-UF are up tempo. I have only been to one and that was wild. Thanks for the article. Going to read it now and pass it on to a fellow UK co-worker.
Daramus, Hi. I have been asking about you for some time now. Glad to see you back. So sorry to hear about your binges. My suggestions are: pack your lunch and get back on this board. We will help you stay on the path. You don't want to lose those same poudns again do you? You did so good so far, don't let all your hard work be for nothing.
Rosalie, Your car deal was very frustrating I'm sure, but at least you saved some money. We really need to learn control. Like you mentioned with the bars. We must learn to eat in moderation or we will be back in the same boat we started. I surely don't want that. If we learn control and moderation, we will suceed in this wt loss. I think Gator's MM message says it all.
Zanne, WTG on another pound. That is great. Boy that sounds like some job you have undertaken. I couldn't do either one, especially the sewing one. Have a nice Thanksgiving dinner. Just be careful and don't overdo. You don't want to have to take off the pound you just loss.
Red1, thanks, I'll check out that recipe. I love anything hot and spicy.
Deb, Have a nice day with Eli. Thanks for all the work you are doing. Hope you get to chat tonite. I plan to be there with bells on.
Bob, How wonderful. I am doing the  all over the office for you (people are looking at me pretty weird too). I am so excited for you. I knew you could do it. Keep up the great work!!!! :cb:
I borrowed a keyboard from work and my computer works with it. So I must have bent a prong or soemthing. So I will definately be at chat tonite. Won't have to get off for anyone. Hope some of you guys will be there too.
Have a great day! :flow2:

I've been slacking off a bit myself. I've had a MAJOR cheesecake craving and have had it like 3 times the past couple weeks!
I've had a regular hard roll and half of a chocolate bar (tanks TOM).
Your problem seems to be lack of time and the thing that screws me up, poor planning. It's all about planning ahead and not getting to the point where your so hungrey you eat anything. I hope you can pull out of this and get back on track!
Who wants to get a nose ring? Deb? *ouch*
I have a hard time sleeping with earings on, a nose rig would drive me nuts! But if you want it go for it!

Jack-K, I am SO PROUD OF YOU for making it through your football evening at the pizza parlor without eating even a single piece! Now that's willpower! To think of sitting there smelling pizza and not getting any...I'm not sure I could do it...so I will have to stay out of pizza parlors. To be honest, when you said that's where you were going last night, I was worried about you! I'm thrilled!

I finally made it to the board :dizzy: I had company staying with us all weekend they left late Sunday evening. I spent yesterday catching up on my chores I never got done. I tell you it's an endless cycle
Bob- congrats on your wonderful loss. I'm glad for you. Keep up the good work. :cb:
Jack-k I'm glad you decided to go shopping instead of giving in to your cravings. You've come along way baby   You are such as inspiration.
Debbie- Thanks so much for all the work you do on the boards. We really appreciate it.

Hey everybody.
Well, it's icky and rainy outside. They keep saying we're getting a "cold front", but haven't seen anything yet. It's just been raining enough to mess up my car and keep me from walking last night.
Can't stay on long, but did want to get in a couple of things.
BOB - Way to go girl!!!
Heartmom - Please know that we are all thinking of you and Boogie. Hope all goes well.
Deb - Happy belated birthday! Our cruise actually leaves from Ft Lauderdale but isn't that pretty close?
Everybody else, sorry I can't post individually but I gotta run.
Have a good day!

Good afternoon. Got my applesauce going.. It smelled so good I just had some hot apples in a bowl with some cool whip on it.. Yummy. I used agave, cinnamon, a little cloves and a little nutmeg and lemon juice in my crockpot. I'll cook it all day. Walked on my treadmill this morning but yesterday walked at the campground where it was beautiful with all the leaves and the smell of fall in the air. Can't believe tomorrow is WIW already. Hope to goodness I've lost some weight..
Rosalie-Sounds like you've had one of those awful car days. But yea for saving 115. bucks... I can't bake and keep those type goodies in my house either, I just lose my mind. And eat and eat.. I even have trouble having peanuts in the house.
LKF- Yum pork chops and rice sounds good. That roast is really good cooked with the applesauce and rubbed with dry onion soup mix.
Zanne-Congradulations on losing the pound.. You're really doing great... I have a bunch of that flab to lose!! Hope you don't work to hard...
Red1- Well jump right up on that wagon.... Those margaritas will do it every time.
Debilli- Hope you have a great day with Eli....
Bob- Oh my gosh 5.5 lbs.. You are doing it lady.... A great big congradulations.
Jack-K- Hope you find your shoes......
cherylco-Come on climb back up on this old wagon.....
Mercy- Howdy there...
Guess I'll go and heat the last of my homemade soup. Hope you all have a great day...

Toni48, your applesauce sounds yummy! You talked of having Cool Whip on some hot apples...does Cool Whip have sugar in it? If so, are you just counting on the fact that it has less than the 3-gram limit? I still have so much to learn. Your idea of cooking a pork roast with applesauce would sound great to normal people but I'm one of those weird folks who doesn't like anything sweet with my main course. My DH can't understand me, either -- he's always wanted me to prepare stuff like you described and I just can't...it grosses me out. I know, I'm strange. But now the onion soup mix, now that's another story! I'd love that!!! Thanks for that great idea!

I'll have to try it again later, but wanted to say that I was thinking about you all. :grouphug:

Hi!
Getting ready to go home. No plans for tonite. Guess I should attempt to gut the grass. Don't really want to though. May see if I can talk a neighbor boy into doing it. Although it would be good exercise.
LKF, that was sweet of you to worry about me. I knew I could make it. Now, if I had been alone with all the pizza would be a different story. But I can't cheat in front of anyone who knows I am doing this WOE. I would feel like a failure.
Mercy, thanks for the sweet words. Today I got to wear a new sweater and slacks and boots. I haven't worn boots since forever. I was feeling pretty good about myself today. It is such a nice feeling to be able to wear normal clothes.
Toni, I can smell that applesauce cooking all the way over here. Is the recipe on the board? No shoes, again.
Serene, Don't ya just hate that. Have a great day. Hope to see you at chat tonite.
Should be at chat tonite. Hope some will be there. Good luck to everyone on WIW tomrrow.:D

Hey does anyone know anything about the Curves for Women fitness centers? Cost, facility in general? I really need to do some toning and strength training, but the thought of going into a gym with all those young hot bod types, just gives me the willies.

Jack-K, that's a pretty neat idea -- tell everyone you know you will be sharing time with that you are doing SB and acquaint them with enough of the program so they will know when you cheat...then you won't want to cheat in front of them! Now that's a brilliant idea! But you know, I do wish others wouldn't make you feel like such a failure if you goof up every now and then and eat that pizza! We are only human. On the other hand, it's kinda nice that there was enough "intimidation" to keep you away from that pizza!

OK GIRLS!
Our power came back on yesterday, after only 4 days of sweat, oil lamps & no water, not to speak of the mosqitoes. We finally got our water well primed last night & I was extatic (SP??) to have a nice warm shower before going to bed last night with a cool house! You don't know how much you depend on things like that till you're cut off. Our cable came back on sometimes today.
We have a team of volunteers from Samaritan's Purse, part of the Billy Graham ministry that moved into our area Sunday & have been working out of our church. They are helping with the clean up by covering roofs, cutting down trees, etc. in our community. What a blessing they are. I have been helping at the church since yesterday, answering phones & getting work orders written up from people that call in for help. This morning I got busy here at home & cooked a big pot of Okra, chicken & sausage gumbo & a big pot of rice & brought it to the church for lunch. There are about 15 of these guys from Boone, N.C. They sure enjoyed my cajun cooking & it blessed me to be able to do something for these volunteers that are so needed in our community right now. I'll be spending most of this week naning the phones. I feel it's a good way to spend my time off.
FEMA has already come to process DD's claim & totaled her mobile home. She should hear something back from them in 7-10 days they say. Then we'll have to pack up & store her things that were able to be salvaged. Her spirits are strong & so is her faith. I am sooooo proud of her for the way she is handling this.
School is still out because not everyone has their power restored yet. Food is still scarse in our stores. But we're managing well through it all.
Sorry to be long winded. It just feels good to be able to be back online & share with all of you. Thank you all for your prayers & good wishes. Didn't read all, but did scan the board to find those of you that had addressed me & appreciate all of you. Got to go. Will be back when I can.

WoW.... we have 3 PhD's on here... COOL!
OK.... so how has everyone been? I'd be doing FANTASTIC if I could get a new computer :) LOL! This one locks up about every 10 minutes and you have to unplug it to get it going again... so I'm praying that this post doesn't get destroyed. :(
I've been doing great in every way except for EATING! I've eaten everything in sight. I haven't had an OP day in weeks and the horrible thing is I haven't gained a single pound. That is NOT the way to motivate me to be healthy!!! I need to find that motivation I had at first. I like that I'm not gaining, but I need to want to lose more than wanting to stay.
I don't know if I told you all but several months back I got my boys each a male dwarf hamster... well one was not a male!!!! I now have 5 baby hamsters in my house. They are adorable and 10 days old and we are giving them away at 4 weeks cause they wean at 3 weeks and are able to breed at about 6 weeks!!
I'm still loving my job, and DH is still doing great at his business. The kids are loving school and the dogs and the bunny are fine. I'm gonna duck and run before I lock up.... anyone who wants to email me , I have better luck not locking up just emailing than I do trying to surf or post... :) It would be great to get some email motivation!!!!!!!!!! DavesGirl2374@aol.com
I miss you guys and I'm asking Santa for a new computer so I can get back on here full time. I stayed OP so much better when I was reading and posting every day, but it's just not possible with this POS on my desk... :) Keep your fingers crossed for me :)

BOB, I am so sorry your Mother broke her hip...bless her heart -- please feel my prayers for you both and let us know how she is doing as soon as you can get her taken care of.
Melf, so great to hear from you with your post. How wonderful that you have time to help the men and women from Samaritan's Purse, even to cooking some of your fine cajun cooking for them. I know they sure do appreciate you...and it really blessed me to read about what is going on down there since the storm hit...it's just like God to use a situation like this to bring out the best in people and bring them all together to work for restoration. And it was also a blessing to hear about how well your DD has been handling it -- it has to be her faith that helps her deal with this...aren't you glad you instilled that in her? Anyway, so glad you have power back and things are beginning to get back to normal, slowly but surely.
Now, Beth, let me encourage you to get back on program...you know it is only a matter of time until your eating all that junk will catch up with you and you'll see it on the scale -- you think you are getting away with it but you're not! Besides, I'll bet you don't feel as good with all that junk in you as you do when you are OP. That's been the best part of being OP for me -- I feel so much better and healthier and energetic! So come on, give up all that stuff you don't belong eating (I think BOB called the stuff "empty carbs") and get back in with us and stay there...and we'll all root for you getting a new computer for Christmas!

Firstly, thank you Monet for missing me! :) And thank you to you Rosalie for actually remembering why I was missing!
I had a fantastic week long visit with my parents. The kids loved seeing them and spending time with their grandparents. These are the only grandkids so it is always extra special. We won't see them again until Christmas but that will be here soon enough.
My parents left on Saturday morning but I have been running around and getting things back in order. Hubby was away for a conference in Ontario over the weekend so I was kept busy with the kids by myself. Then when I tried to get online here it would always freeze on me. I tried numerous times Monday and Tuesday so here is to hoping because I have gotten this far today and able to read the posts.
Remember my fabulous weight loss of 9 lbs? Well, we were wondering if it would stay off or not. I got 4 lbs of water back but it leveled off at a 5 lbs loss which I will happily take. If I have to lose 9 lbs, gain back 4 lbs of water and have a net loss of 5 lbs...how can I complain? I upped my carbs when my parents were here so I could eat meals with them but still kept them low by SB standards. I am back on my no carb kick and will see what happens this week.
We got my Dad a copy of Michel Montignac's Eat Yourself Slim. I was so impressed by it I went back and got myself one too! I scanned it quickly and have started to read it thoroughly. For anyone who hasn't read this book and follows SB, you really must. DEBELLI is always recommending it and now I know why. It lays things out for you and explains things much better than the SB book but is essentially the same plan.
BOB- Congrats on the Fantastic Loss!!! I am so happy for you! Regarding your poor mother, I hope they are taking good care of her. They must have done the replacement by now so I will pray for a quick and comfortable recovery for her.
MELF- What an encouragement to hear how fellow Christians came in to help your community at such a difficult time. God is glorified because of the willing work and love of His servants and that includes you with all that you have done. Thank you for sharing that with us!
SERENE- I love that new hamster pic you have! He is so sweet.
I am going to see if I can post this now. Oh..WIW...I am 169 and holding for a week now. But with my tweaking I am hoping to see another loss this week.

Well good morning to you all..... I am down to 155. I haven't been that low for along time. It seems though that I am stalling. I know that part of the problem is that I can't get enough water in me. I get so busy at work that I forget to drink and I can't get it ll in before bed. I had good intentions of getting to chat last night but I didn't get home from work at the usual time so, maybe next week.
BOB - Prayers coming your way for you and your mom. Way to go on the weight loss. :cb:
LKF - Your post are so encouraging to read. I only wish I could post half as much as you are able to. I think it help us get to know each other better when we can talk more. Keep up the good work. Where is Springville located exactly? What took you there from Los Angeles?
debyj - Where do you work? an hour to and from? It must be hard to have to go that far everyday. Do you get to your email easier than to the board? If so maybe we can email you. Hang in there and keep up the good work.
Beth2374 - I jotted down your email and will drop you a line. It is easier for me to email from work so look for the mail. I know it can be so frustrating without a computer. We have become so dependent on them. Talk to you soon...
Melf - Girl it is so good to hear from you. Glad everything is coming along. Your gumbe sounded good. I do miss cajun cooking. You know if it wasn't so humid I could easily live in your neck of the woods. Our friends Dad and Mom live not to far from you all. They went to our friends house to stay and are still there. They got out just before the storm hit. I am sure that they'll be back this weekend to start cleaning up if they haven't already started. I still haven't got my pics scanned so I can post them. I am asking for a digital camera for christmas.
Toni48 - I would love it to be camping all the time. That is what my hubby and I want to do when we retire. The smell of fall is here in the desert too. It is my most favorite times of the year.
Cherylco - Try debs cheesecake. It is the best. You can have two slices if you want and it won't be too damaging. It is very easy to make too.
Got to go. Everyone have a great WIW.

Gracious, so glad to see you back! Glad you had a good visit with your parents. And congratulations on the maintenance of that 5 pound weight loss! Way to go! Thanks for the additional recommendation on the book "Eat Yourself Slim" -- I just e-mailed your recommendation to my hubby to find it for me on line.
Cyndi, good to hear from you again. Where I now live in Springville, Alabama is about 50 miles northeast of Birmingham. It's actually an unincorporated area out in the woods. We have 50 acres with a darling little log home nestled right in the midst of it. This all came about as an extreme reaction to growing up in Southern California where you could shake hands with your neighbor out your bathroom window! My Mother thought I had lost my mind when I left California but after all these years here, I think she finally had to accept the fact that I needed country around me when I went home at night. I love people but when I go home at night, all I want close by are owls and foxes and turkeys! Ha! I married a fine Southern gentleman who brought me back home on a vacation and as soon as I got off the plane, I asked "When can we move?" Don't tell anybody, though -- everyone will want to move here and my sweet country home will soon be as populated as Southern California!

Happy WIW Gang
Hope that scale was good to everyone today. I stayed the same. Oh well, I was expecting it since I had 2 weeks of good losses. I haven't been eating much since DH is gone. Nice break from cooking, but I haven't eaten many veggies and no fruit on the weekends. I want to lose 6 lbs by 11-6 so I am back to journaling today and getting in those veggies.
Tomorrow is my 1 year SB anniversary. I was hoping to have all 110 lbs off by that time. Oh well, just 20 to go. I will keep plugging away at them.
I went home last nite and decided to cut the front yard. Well it was so high and they are calling for rain the rest of the week, so I went on & cut the the back yard (which is huge). I cut that grass for 2 solid hours with no break (except when the mower would stall out and then I spent that time cussing :censored: But it's done now. The sad thing is I'll probably have to cut it again Sunday morning if it rains all week. I figured 2 hours of pushing that mower counted as exercise and I didn't get my walk in. Don't think I could have made it. In fact, I didn't do much at all after that. I was worn out. Made a pot of chil for dinner tonite. It is still very cool here. In the 60's. They say a big cold front in coming through on Sunday.
Debyj, SO sorry you won't be able to check in at work. That is a full packed day. Drop in when you can.
Melf, You are truly an  helping out in your off time. We do take life's conveniences for granted. Glad things are getting back to normal there.
Bob, Your poor mom. Having to lay there all day. She sure has had a time of it lately. I know you will take good care of her. Keep us posted. Sending prayers your way.
Gracious, Yes we did miss you. Glad you had a nice visit with your parents. Hey, 5 lbs is nothing to sneeze at. Congrats. :flow2:
Red1, Congrats on your all time low. :cp: I forgot to tell you that I'm jealous of you having those margarietas. Man I would kill for one. One day! :hyper: Keep drinking that water.
LKF, Good morning. Hope you are having a great day and a great WIW. :flow1:

Jack-K, staying the same weight seems to happen to us all now and then...especially when you've had a couple of weeks of good loss...in fact, that happened to me so much that I decided not to weigh but once a month. I'll always report that loss to y'all and I hope occasionally, the first of the month when I weigh will be close to a WIW! Happy SB Anniversary tomorrow! Please don't be upset that you didn't lose all the weight you wanted to inside your first year with SB -- just remember that we want to eat like this for life for our health and the weight will come off as a wonderful benefit...but in its own time. I still marvel when I look at what you have lost in a year! I'm going to do my best to mimic you!

Just a quick note this am before I head out the door to answer phones at the church. Got a pot of red beans & ham that's been cooking all night to bring to the crew for lunch.
It's been raining here since last evening. Not a good thing, but we'll handle it! It will probably slow down the restoration crews. They are saying it will rain 90% today & tomorrow.
BOB, poor mom!! hugs & prayers to both of you!
LKF & Gracious, thanks for your sweet encouragement! I have faith that all will work out for His Glory!
RED1, Glad to hear that your friends' parents found safety out of harm's way. Hope that they do not find too much damage when they return. Those of us that have escaped the serious damage realize how blessed we are when we look around us to see the extent of the damage everywhere, but that is part of Louisiana living.
Debelli, yes, FL & LA along with AL & MS are all hurricane vunerable. We have been really lucky here that we had not had a really bad one in quiet a few years. I know you are very well familiar with what we're going through down here. I remember how bad you got it for Andrew. We sure did breathe a big sigh of relief when it narrowly escaped us then. It had past about 30 miles from us then & DD got some wind damage at that time also, but the brunt of it did not hit us. The humidity is really bad right now, but we're waiting for that cool front that this rain is suppose to bring us.
Serene, thanks for the note that Sabrina asked about us even while enjoying her wonderful trip. Hope she has a safe trip home & that you're not too over-worked with all those pets!
Rosalie, Hi! Thanks for your note of encouragement.
Well girls, I know I missed some of you, but will try to get back this afternoon or tonight, depending on the weather.
I need to get moving. WIW is not too good for me, but I did expect what I saw. I'm up to 136 & have been since the end of last week. That's up 3-4 lbs, but considering that I have been eating what is available the past week, I guess that's not too bad. As soon as everything settles down, I WILL be back OP.

Howdy ho everyone... Got up to a toasty fire going in our wood stove this morning that DH had made. It rainned last night and is really cool. I made my applesauce yesterday and it turned out good. I'm mad mad mad at myself for getting lax on my serving sizes. I keep getting them a little bigger so only lost 1/2 lb. this week. I know what I'm doing wrong and can't seem to help myself. The bigger they get the hungrier I am. So this week I need to buckle down. Also its time for TOM is I had it him anymore, LOL..... So hopefully next week will be better...
Jack-K- I just peeled the apples ( thank goodness I have an apple peeler) put about a cup of agave, cinnamon, a dash of cloves and nutmeg in. Let it cook all day in my crockpot on high and then whizzed it around with one of the hand held mixers for a few seconds. Walla!!! Yum... I guess the body has to stop and catch up after really good losses. So maybe next week will be really good. Wow it should after that mowing!!
Trishaloo- Theres no gym's in our little town. But I sure would go if I wanted to and good for you for looking into it. I would love to have a place to go and to heck with the hot bodies!!
debj- Ouch a crown, those are so expensive!!! I've just about got all my dental stuff done and ooooo it sure hurts the pocket book..
Melf- Oh my gosh your food sounds wonderful.. I'll bet it was so good. Its so good to see you posting. I'm glad you're getting your home together complete with water. Many prayers for your DD and you all.. I'm so glad you're alright...
Beth- I'm still using my DH's computer cause mine is still sick. I just hate it.. So know how awful it is to have trouble with one. I'm laughing at your hamster story....
Bob- I'm so sorry about your Mother. How awful. Sending up prayers for her. Keep us posted...
Gracious-Oh my gosh there you are. I'm so glad you had a good time with your parents. Way to go on the weight loss. I agree I would take it that way...
Red1-I'm having trouble with the water to and I think that is making a big difference... I'm trying so hard today make a big effort to drink it. Can you bring bottled water with you? You are so close to your goal!! Congradulations..
LKF- I use the cool whip lite and under 3 gram rule. I hope thats right but I believe it is...It really adds something to jello. So I feel like I'm getting a big treat. Love reading your little posts all over...
Well time for breakfast. So off I go... Have a great day everyone...

Toni, that toasty fire sounds so good right now! Our blood thins during the summer and the first cold snap really makes us feel extra cold. Your applesauce sounds yummy and seeing as how I just purchased a brand new crock pot, I'll just have to try your recipe (if I can find some Agave)...thanks so much for the recipe right here in the midst of apple season!

Good heavens--I miss a day and all **** breaks loose on the board!
BOB--My prayers are with your mom today. Please let us know how she is doing. I'll be thinking about you too!
Daramus and Beth--Been there---done that! One of the things that always helps me when I fall off is to reread the SB book. It reminds me about all the terrible things sugar does to our bodies.
Melf--Good to hear from you! I went to college in Boone NC! (Frog got her MA degree there). Give those Boone guys a big hug for me--they are great folks! I remember all the folks who came to help out in NC after Fran and Floyd. They are such a blessing--it sounds like you are being quite the trooper--and your DD too! Thank goodness the airconditioning is back!
Tomorrow is Boogie's surgery! Since we haven't hear from Heartmom this week, I'm taking that as a sign that they have gone to PA for the surgery. Let's remember our little project for tomorrow and Keepp Boogie, Heart, and Ashley in our thoughts and prayers.
Jenn--looking forward to hearing all about your wedding!
10% challenge--I have no idea how I'm doing! My scale is still dead (and I didn't do anything this time)--but I'm trying to do all the right things in the thought that the scale will take care of itself. last night wasn't the best--but I'm not going to let it turn into a full scale slide.

Good afternoon,
Thank goodness this day is over. One word can describe it: MEN:dizzy:
I think the only solution is shopping:D
I do have to get my walk in and work out too. I really need to get those Halloween decorations out too.
LKF, you are doing so good yourself, you will be at goal before you know it. I know it is for life, but I had really just wanted to be in a place where I can starting muying clothes. I have bought the basics (blue & black pants) all the way as I went down, but I want to be able to buy the wardrobe in the size that I will stay. I am impatient I know.
Melf, I hate that it raining on La. How much more can go wrong. Don't worry about your eating, I'm sure once things get back to normal you will be right back OP and dropping those pounds.
Toni, I'm waiting for you. I have gone back to journaling. My portins are too large also. I am also re-reading the book for some deeper motivation. Think I'll get Montigue's book too.
Fillise, Definately will be sending bunches of prayers for Boogie tomorrow. I wish we could hear something.
Mercy, WTG on that 1 lb. That's wonderful.

Evening All:wave:
Wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone! Just got finished with doing up to the June 2001 Dessert Recipes, going to try and find a little easier way of doing this job. Hate that it's going to take so long and keep me from posting regularly on here-I'm already having withdrawls.
Not much news to tell, finally did my taxes today. Didn't pay anything, not getting anything. Gotta find a real J-O-B!
WIW, I did get on the scale and I'm still above my goal weight  I'm at 131.5 - where I've been for weeks. No matter what I do, I'm seemingly stuck. Well, actually, in a few days, I SHOULD see a fall on the scale after mid-cycle, usually do, so I'm just being patient and waiting to see what happens. Gals, when you cheat, it's definitely 3 steps back you go, and then some.
Will continue to try and read the posts when I get a chance. Just know I'm with you all in spirit while I get this little job on the recipe boards started.
Gott run, hungry-time for chow!!

Good evening everyone
I have nothing new to report for WIW. The same old story. Up one day and down the next, or vice versa. Congrats to everyone who has lost or maintained this week. Had a busy day to-day. Tai Chi this morning followed by weight class, then badminton this evening. I just don't like the timing though for the weight class because it starts right after Tai Chi at 11.45 and goes on until 1.15 so makes it kind of late for lunch. Now I guess I am looking for excuses for they way I ate to-day. I got home about 1.30 and had some left over spaghetti sauce with meatballs with spaghetti squash. Then I attacked a couple of the oatmeal cookies that I made yesterday, then ate a couple of the bars I had made the other day. Luckily all the other cookies are in the freezer - out of sight out of mind. Everything was op, just too much of it.
Jack-k - Glad you figured out what was wrong with your computer. That was great that you made it through the evening at the pizza place. Two hours pushing a lawn mower. I would definitely consider that exercise. :strong: You certainly deserved a rest after that.
Toni48 - Your apple sauce sounds wonderful. That wood stove sounds cozy. We used to have a wood stove in our family room but we replaced it with a gas stove a few years ago. It's much cleaner and easier to care for but certainly not as cozy.
Melf - It's good to hear that you have your power back and things are beginning to get back to normal. You appreciate these things much more when you have been without them for awhile. It's great that you have the volunteers helping with the cleanup and I'm sure they are enjoying the wonderful cooking you are doing for them.
BOB - Sorry to hear about your Mom breaking her hip. Sending good thoughts your way. Let's know how things are going when you get the chance. :grouphug:
Gracious - Glad you had a good visit with your parents. I'm sure you will get rid of that 4 pounds water weight in no time, soon as you cut down the carbs again. That always seems to get rid of excess fluid. I'm glad you liked Montingnac's book. His book was the first one I read about this woe and it certainly is superior to the SB book. He explains things in much more detail. His book was out long before the SB book most of which is copied from Montignac's.
Greetings to everyone I've missed.
Nite.
Marie.

Jack-K, I know what you mean about wanting to go buy your new wardrobe...and you're not impatient at all. I was just wanting to encourage you about where you have come from and by your continued faithfulness, encouraging you that you'll be at your goal before you know it. And then, you will be able to go out and get all that fine-looking wardrobe with accessories and oh, boy, will you look GREAT!
Debbie, 131.5 is only a couple of pounds over your goal...and you're back OP now so you know it will come off when it is ready. But we all appreciate your straight talk about what penalty we pay when we cheat and believe me, we will remember what you are going through when we are tempted. That's one of the beauties of this support board -- we are all in this together sharing our ups and downs and what we experience in the process so we can learn together. Oh, and we are all having withdrawals from not having you with us as much on the Board, too, though we are so grateful to you for your dedication to the recipe board right now...gosh, you can't do everything!
Rosalie, I'm glad you put those cookies in the freezer. That's a safer place for them right now, huh? I don't dare ask for the recipe for those cookies right now but I am curious about the spaghetti and spaghetti squash recipe! Do you use the squash in place of the wheat pasta? I'm not real keen on the wheat pasta -- that's why I am anxious to find an alternative to that stuff...yuck! It's about the only modification in my eating OP that I haven't found a suitable substitute for.
Heartmom, we are all praying for you and Boogie especially today and will be so anxious to hear from you when you have a minute to let us know how surgery went.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! SEF :hb: :hat: :flow2: Have a great day!!!!
Today is my Friday. Usually.... Tomorrow we have the Assistant Secretary of the Navy coming and I was asked if I would help with the visit. Shouldn't be to bad but it will be most of the day. I didn't have anythng else planned so a little more comp time on the paycheck will be good. At least now I won't have to use any of my regular leave at Christmas.
Sunday we are going to Lone Pine, a little town north of here that Hollywood uses alot for filming. They have a filming festival there every year with several of the stars participating in a parade. A friend of ours gathers the vehicles to carry them down the parade route and this year Ed and I will be driving one of them. Looking forward to the event. The town is a quaint and old. Alot of the classic movies were shot there and in the Alabama Hills not to far away.
Rosalie - You will get past the ups and downs. Don't get discouraged. At least you are exercising. I still can't get my bhind in gear and at least walk.
Deb - Thanks for all your hard work in getting the board organized. I know I truely enjoy the recipes. :cp:
Jack-K - I work around alot of men too. Are the construction men any different than the engineers???? :?: Wanted to say way to go with your weight loss for the year. You should not get down that you didn't make the 110 mark. 80 or was that 90 lbs in a year that is great :cp:
Mercy - You sound disappointed. 1 lb is 1 lbs and it is GONE!!! Yahoo!!!
Fillise - I know what you mean about missinga day and WOW!! I have been trying to get here everyday this week and so far so good.
Heartmom - Prayers for you and Boogie today. God has him in his hands and is taking care of him and you.
Everyone have a great Thursday... The week is almost over.

Hey, Cyndi! I enjoy your posts on the Board, too, and always look forward to hearing from you. When you come to Wetumpka, we will have to meet for dinner or something! I think it is down around Montgomery or Selma, about 150 miles from me, but I'll make every effort to meet you when you come to visit, no matter where it is. Enjoy Lone Pine -- I remember the place well and all the great films made there. Tell everyone HI from an old friend! Ha! Cyndi, you are such an encouragement to us all -- thanks for such personal care for each of us.

Good morning everyone!
Wow--after a very busy Monday and Tuesday--Wed was a little slow on the board. That makes it easy to catch up!
LKF--so glad to hear that you like living in Alabama. I'm in Auburn and love it here. I was reading a murder mystery last weekend that is set in Birmingham. The characters were talking about Springville--and I thought--hey! LKF lives there!
Book Alert----Speaking of which--if you haven't read the Southern Sisters murder mystery series by Ann George you are missing a real treat. They are hilarious! The first one is called Murder on a Bad Hair Day. They are set in and around Birmingham, Alabama. There are 7 or 8 books in the series and there won'tbe any more since the author passed away a little over a year ago. I've read all but one--and I'm trying to wait until after the election to read it.
Red1--Your festival sounds like fun this weekend! You'll have to let us know who you will be driving! Have fun with the bigwigs tomorrow!
Rosalie--hang in there--we've all fought those battles.
Deb--I'm going to take a look at the work you are doing on the recipe boards---it's necessary work, but we'll be glad to have you back with us! About the over goal thing--I'm sure once you pass through mid-cycle you'll be there again. I know you will not let this get away from you--basically because there are too many of us that would just Loooooovvvve to come put the mistress herself through the detox dungen!!!!!!!:s: Actually I need a little time in the dungon myself, so I'd better not get smug.
SEF--Happy Birthday!!!!!!!:gift: :hat: :hb: I hope you have a great day today!!!!!!!!
Gracious--water weight just s**ks--there's just no other way around it!!!!! Glad you had a good visit with your parents.
Jack-K--Men! Yeah--I've got some of those to deal with workwise and they are infuriating. I'm working with a group that don't think women should be in leadership positions, but when it comes time to volunteer to get a job done, they all sit on their hands and it is the women who do all the work. But the men should get all the glory. I tell you what I'd like to give them all of :censored: HAH!
BOB--Hope your mom is doing better. My thoughts and prayers are with you!
Everyone--Today is Boogie's surgery, so I know you are with me in saying a prayer for Heartmom and Boogie today! Let's surround them with a big group hug all day long!:grouphug:
Have a good day everyone!

Good morning everyone... Well I really did it yesterday. Found some of those peanut butter cups by Russell Stover. (sugar free) in the grocery store yesterday. And I can't believe I ate the whole bag!!! I just can't have stuff like that around me. I have no self control. This is the reason I have a weight problem. And I know SB is teaching us how to eat right. Anyway I'll put this behind me and learn from it. But I sure am disappointed in myself..
Happy Birthday Sef!!!! Hope you have a great one....
LKF-Weighing in once a month is a good idea.. But I almost think I'm going to weigh everyday.. LOL maybe that will teach me not to eat so much!!!
Fillise- Hop back on lady you can do it... Today is a brand new day. And we want to be dug in before those holidays get here.
Mercy- Congrads on your pound loss. Good for you...
Gracious- Don't you just love when you can smell the first fires of the season starting. The smell of the smoke outside is so good. I love to set a pot of chili or homemade soup on mine to simmer all day...
Jack-K- You've had a wonderful year of loss. 90 lbs. is sure something to be proud of. We all know what an awful struggle that is. A great big Congradulations gal.. You're my hero... Yep maybe I'll reread Montique's book again. You're right about journaling I think I need to do it to... And then after my sugar free candy binge yesterday I sure am going to need to do something. I think its easy to get lax after awhile OP.
Debilli- Your honest open posts are a real inspiration. You show us this is a life long program. And when we forget that it is, is when we lose the battle. Especially in this society where we have so much food available and reaching out to us. Who would have thought the sugar free products would be out there and taste like sugar!!!! Hope you had a great day with Eli.
Rosalie-Yep the wood stove is messy. We have a love hate relationship with it... But when the cool weather starts its pure love..... Oh I'm so jealous of your Tai Chi class. Why oh why don't they have one around here.
Red1- Oh Lone Pine sounds great. Are you in Calif.? I can't remember anything anymore. But I have a feeling I've been to a place like that in Calif but it was called something else. Sounds like you're busy busy at work..
Well better go get some breakfast, gee I might starve to death.. LOL and then get busy with my day. Think I'll go walk in the campground sometime today to...

Toni, I'm glad all those peanut butter cups are gone! Sorry you are the reason they are all gone but hey, at least you don't face them in your possession any more! You have the right idea -- those are definitely "red light" foods to stay away from. But your attitude is great -- put that behind you and go from here, having learned from it. I hope we can all learn from our past and really get a handle on our bad habits and put them away forever! A little disappointment in yourself is probably a good thing but not for long -- you can start spiraling from that if you stay in that boat for too long...so please, just pick yourself up and go from here...we'll help!
Incidentally, y'all, I ordered Montique's book last night so I'm going to start reading it soon, too. I've heard so much good stuff here about it that I just have to...especially when several of you have said it is even more clear than the SB book.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!
I wanted to share this with you all
Inner Peace
I read an article that said the way to achieve inner peace is to finish
things you've started. It is definitely working for me. I am now making a
point of always finishing what I start, and I think I am well on my way
toward finding inner peace.
Because I care for you, I am passing this wisdom on to you:
Today I finished two bags of Ruffles, a chocolate cheesecake, a package of
Oreos, a bottle of wine and a small box of Chocolates. I feel better
already. Send this along to everyone you know who needs "Inner Peace."
Thanks so much for everyone's prayers...she made it through the surgery, but they ended up not doing it until 8pm last evening!
That poor women went without food and water for two days
Of course, they were running glucose, but that's just not the same. They DID NOT have to do a replacement, but did screws and pins. NO WEIGHT BARING FOR 1 MONTH!!! I told her this morning that she will have to do EVERYTHING THEY SAY because she cannot come home and not be able to take care of herself and most of all she will not be able to stay by herself if she can't
walk! SO turn your good thoughts toward that...keeping her in line and focus!
I've got to get back to work....I'll check in later...THANKS AGAIN
BOB, thanks for the update on your Mom...I am so glad they could do the surgery and she is going to be O.K., if she behaves herself and does what they tell her to before she comes home. You tell her all of your friends on the SB board are praying for her...and YOU and that she'd better wait to get back on her feet until they tell her she is ready. Please keep us posted on her progress. Oh, and I loved the little paragraph on "Inner Peace"...the best thing for me is to do is not even start on all that stuff so I don't even get the chance to finish it!

Happy Thursday Gang: wave:
Went shopping last night at Target (oh boy) got 2 pairs of shoes and a sweater. Made me feel bettr anyway. Went home got my 3 miles walk in and then my weight workout. The girls in the office and I did lower body exercises at lunch. So I felt good about my exercising for the day.
:rain: here today. Supposed to be all day and nite. Going to be 80 Sat and 50 Sunday. Go figure
Sef: Happy Birthday. :hb: :gift: :hat: Hope it is a special day for you. Are you even back yet from vacation?
Gracious, I am thrilled that I have lost 90 lbs. I like myself so much better now. I really like being able to buy normal clothes.
Deb, Man, wish I was at 131.5. Keep plugging along you will be under goal before long. I totally agree with you on cheating. Just not worth it.
Rosalie, are the oatlmeal cookies legal? Are they good? They are my favorite. Would like to try some for the holidays if they are good. Got to get that book. I reread the SB book this week. It helps to refresh yourself.
LKF, I don't like the ww pasta either. I buy 100% duram semolina pasta. Can't tell any difference in it. it is supposed to be legal plus I only eat it about 1x a month.
Red1, These were engineers I was complaining about. They think they know everything and have no common sense. I think engineers are the worst. Your weekend sounds fun. Hope you get to meet some famous people. Take pics.
Fillise, I have said many prayers for Boogie this morning. I wish we could hear something. :grouphug:
Bob Glad to hear they didn't have to do the replacement. Hopefully this will be a speedier recovery. You should be able to keep her in line. Just crack that whip. Sending good thoughts your way.
Toni, If you ate the whole bag, you are probably feeling the side effects today, get my drift? I used to control the SF candy until I bought the toffee chips. Oh my Gawd (as BOb would say), they taste JUST like Heath bars. I ate 6 of them Monday. I finally gave the rest of them to a girl in the office to keep. That way I have to ask for them and I wouldn't go back 6 times. The things we do.
Have a great day. Be back later

Jack-K, I always learn from you!!! Thanks a MILLION for the tip on 100% duram semolina...I think I have even seen them in the area where the ww pasta is but wasn't sure they were SB legal -- but I do remember the SB book talking about that...gotta keep all this in my mind! I'll get some right away. But I'll control how often I eat it, like you said you do. Thanks again! WHAT A TEAM!!!
Y'all scare me when you start talking about losing control over all the SF candy out there...I've never tried a single piece of it and from the sounds of y'all having all the trouble with it, I don't think I'll even put the first piece in my mouth...might start something! Better I don't know a thing about it!

Good Morning:wave:
Just a quickie...
Didn't get in my walk today, was all dressed but didn't go, woke up tired and with a light headache. Crawled back in bed with ELI :s: and fell asleep til about 10am. Still feel like I could sleep more. Has to be due to mid-cycle.
Haven't worked on the recipe board today but will try to work on a bit more later on. I'm wanting to get the year 2000 done totally and then work on the next board. I'll find a way to make it easier and faster, the brain just hasn't kicked out the idea on how to do that yet.
Hoping we will hear something from HEART soon about BOOGIE. Glad to hear all went well with BOB'S DM (will call you later BOB). Hoping SEF will see all our bday wishes (not sure if/when she's home), HAPPY SB ANNIVERSARY JACKK! Welcome back from the UK TRANQUIL!
I'm sure I've missed something, so please forgive me if I did, I don't mean to miss anything important. Hoping to take a break and get on a post in the next day or two. I'm about to burst from withdrawls-my fingers need to type to you all instead of copying and pasting!!!

I'm so disgusted with myself... WHY CAN'T I GET MY *** BACK IN THE WAGON????????????
Ok, I'm over that fit ;)
Hey LKF - I live just outside Huntsville... we might not be too far from each other. We'll have to do a legal lunch. (Heck it may be the only way to get me to eat a whole legal meal... supervision!) LOL!!!
The baby hamsters are wandering all around the tank... it's really cute, but I'm still not happy about this! LOL! I have no idea how the HE** I'm gonna get rid of 5 baby hamsters! Nobody I know wants a little rodent in their house! The pet store won't take them either. Grrrrrrrrrr!
OK... I've already eaten something I shouldn't today... but for the rest of the day I'm going to do my VERY best to stay OP!!!! I want to be a size 12 by Christmas! I mean it... I want to have 12's falling off me by Christmas day, so that is going to be my motivation to get back OP... Christmas PICTURES!!!!!! LOL If knowing you're gonna have your picture made won't keep you honest, what will? LOL!
Keep your fingers crossed for me ladies (and Daramus!) and I'm gonna do my best not to let myself down again! :)
Have a great day!!!

Beth, so good to meet you, my fellow Southern Sister! I'm not close to you (about 200 miles southeast) but I'd still love to meet you and have that legal lunch together. Meanwhile, you can do this thing -- get completely back OP and deal with it a day at a time, knowing you CAN make it through one day OP. Come on, now, your "fit" is over -- you've had your fun (and I kinda hope your body is talking back to you already for messing up...smile!) so now, come on back and have fun with us. Stay on this Board -- it helps so much.
Now, y'all, I must bid ado for a few days...I'll be out of pocket until October 21 and will sorely miss each one of you...but I'll be back Monday, the 21st and look forward to being with you all. Hope you will miss me, too.

Beth, Girl, bend over. Now get back on this wagon. Chrismas will be here before you know it. No time for slip ups. Keep coming back to this board, that will help. Ask yourself each time you go to eat something "bad", what do I want the most this piece of____ or to lose this wt? Find something to substitute for the bad. Be prepared.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEF :hb: :gift: :hat: :joker:
LKF - I did use the spaghetti squash in place of the pasta. I usually eat the ww pasta which I now like better than the regular one. I used the squash this time as I am trying to keep my starchy carbs down. It tasted great with the spaghetti sauce and meatballs on top. If you don't like the ww pasta the regular pasta is o.k. too. I always buy the one made with durum semolina - actually that is the only wheat pasta that I have ever seen in the stores here. There's some good information about pasta in Montignac's book - a copy of the same information is also on the SB Information Board if you care to check it out before you get your book.
Red1 - Hope you have a great weekend and enjoy your time with the stars.
Fillise - I'll have to check out the Ann George mysteries. I've been reading some Elizabeth George mysteries, which I think you recommended too a while back. But I am ready for something a little lighter before I get to the next one on my list.
Toni48 - I know that feeling of lack of self conrol when the goodies are around as you saw from my previous posts this week. But all we can do is put it behind us and start afresh.
BOB - Thanks for Inner Peace. Just what I needed to hear this week. Glad to hear that your Mom made it through surgery o.k. and hope she takes the doctor's advice. I know it will be very hard for her to be non weight-bearing for that length of time. She will need lots of encouragement.
Jack-K - Sounds like you had a good day to-day. Glad you found some shoes at last. I know if you have problems with your feet it is very hard to find shoes that fit and are comfortable. I have a heck of a time to find shoes I can wear. WTG on the exercises - you really had a good workout to-day. It's great that you have lost 90 pounds in a year. That is awesome. One of the good things about losing is being able to buy clothes in regular sizes. Makes shopping so much easier too. The oatmeal cookies are legal. It's a recipe posted by Deb and it is on the new Recipe Board. If you go to the Recipe Boards and click on Cookies, Cakes, etc. you will find the recipe. It is called Sunflower Crunchies. I thought they tasted really good, the only problem was that they break and crumble very easily. I did use less oil than the recipe called for (1/4 cup instead of a 1/2 cup). Maybe they would not break so easily if you used the whole amount of oil. Anyway the taste was fine.
Deb - Don't worry about not getting in your walk this morning. I'm sure crawling back into bed with Eli was much better than being on the road at the crack of dawn.
Bye for now.
Marie.

Hi,
I have not been on the board because my daughter called last Thursday morning and said she and her husband were going to hop on a plane and come see us. I think you all remember how sad I was that they had to cancel the trip Tues. due to Lili's path to Galveston. Since it passed them by, they decided to fly although they lost most of the money on the first cancelled flight. We had a grand time making applesauce, grape and apricot preserves. (All sugar free for me or with a little agave.) They left this morning and I have been busy catching up on laundry, etc. It will take me awhile to catch up on past posts but I wanted to stop in and say hello.
Trishaloo: I will be back in Dallas some time the middle of Nov. Maybe we could all plan a get together in Jan after the holidays. What do you say, ladies? I am open to other times.
Fruitloupe: I am glad that the storm left you in one piece also.
I need to prepare dinner and get ready for Survivor tonight. Hope all is well with everyone.

Happy Friday Gang :cb:
Can't believe it is finally here. DH comes home Sunday. Thank goodness.
Went to a Mexican rest. last nite with some old friends. I took my 7 triscuits for the salsa and I ordered the fajitas w/o the wraps. Only ate half of them, brought the rest for lunch today. Now for the bad part. I did have 2 margariettas. :nono: Boy were they good.:D I drank them very slowly and made them last the whole 3 hours we were there. I did come home and worked out and did 80 sit-ups. I figured I had to learn some control. I only had 2 and normally would have had 4 or 5:devil:
Only 1 carb for me for the next few days. Maybe I can counter-act any damage. Hey at least the tequila is made from Agave.;)
Bob, Glad you Mom is on the mend. Will she have to use a walker? She doesn't have to stay totally off of it for a month does she. Good wishes coming her way. :grouphug:
Tranquil. Glad you are back and had a wonderful time. Jump back on here soon.
Country, It has been cool here too. Sunday it is only going to be 50. Don't you hate when you see a low number and it doesn't stick. Depressing. Hopefully you will see it soon.
Yellowrose, So glad you finally got to visit with your family. Sounds like you spent it productively.
Debyj, Good luck on your interview. Yeah on the 3 lbs. :cp: Keep us posted.
Rosalie, Thanks for the info on the cookies. I might give them a try. I would liek to try that spaghetti squash but I have heard they are hard to cook to get the meat out of. ANy suggestions?
Wish we would hear from Heartmom on Boogie. Still sending prayers.
Have a great day.

Good Morning.... Not much gone on here since yesterday. The weather is trying to cool off. Still in the high 90's. I am praying for a very cold and wet winter. It is so dry here that I am surprised that the desert doesn't catch on fire from pure heat bearing down on it.
Debj - Good luck on your interview. Hope the job is closer to home.
YellowRose - Glad you got to see your DD. What a treat. Sounds like you all had a great visit.
CountryMom- I can relate to the cold. As I mentioned it is still in the high 90's. Not much or no humidity but still very warm. Come on cold.....
Tranquil - Glad you are back home and that you had a great time.
BOB - You get some well deserved sleep and we will see you later. Hope all it doing well with your Mom.
Beth2374 - Did you get my email? In the from is my hubby's name so I hope you didn't trash it since you don't know the name. I will do that if I don't know who it is from so I don't get virus'. How is the computer? You need to stay focused. You can do it. You did so good when you first got started and you need to remember then. Don't beat yourself up. That only makes it worse.
LKF - Not sure if you are still on the board but have a great vacation. What are you goning to be doing?? Be safe !!!
Jack-K - Yes those engineers can be so....... and you are right about common sense. Enjoy the rain and cool front that comes your way.
Deb - Is there anything we can do to help with the recipe board? It doesn't seem fair that you should have to do it all by yourself. Have a great weekend.
Everyone have a great weekend.
Not sure if I will have the time to get back on the board until later so
BKM have a greatbirthday tomorrow :hb:

Good Morning all
Just a quickie...............
Jack-K - I cooked the remainder of my spaghetti squash last nite in the microwave and it was much easier/quicker than doing it in the oven. I cut it into four pieces (that was half a squash) and put it in a covered dish with about half a cup of water and nuked it for 10 minutes. Came out perfect. I'm having the leftovers with my spaghetti sauce and meatballs for dinner to-day.
Will try to get back on later. Have chores this morning, badminton this afternoon and then off to work for an evening shift.
If I don't get back have a good weekend everyone. And to the Canadians out there Happy Thanksgiving.
Marie.

Good Morning!!!
Got a few minutes to check in this am, so I thought I'd try to respond to a few of ya.
Bob, so glad to hear that your mom ordered you to rest. You need to take care of BOB!
Tranquil, soooo glad to see that you made it back home safe & sound. Sorry to hear that you had to go straight back to work, but it's worth it, isn't it?? waiting to hear about all your adventures in the UK!
CountryMom4Him, the cool front finially readed us here in SW LA! It's a nice 62 this am. Makes me want to get out & walk! (almost) :D
YellowRose, so glad that your DD was able to make the trip after all. I know you had a wonderful time. I have a DD in Texas also & I know how I feel when I get half a chance to visit, even if it's not for long, like last week end. It wasn't for a full 24 hours, but it was a boost for me!
debyj, thanks for the BD wishes, but mine was last month! But I'll take it anyway. It's BKM's BD tomorrow & it was SEF's yesterday. Good luck on your job interview!!
Jack-K, fajitas sound good, but glad to hear that you stopped at 2 margariettas instead of 4 :yikes: Maybe the exercise you put yourself through will counter-act those
Debelli, you sound really busy with the recipe boards. We miss you here but know that you are on a mission to get this done. Sorry to hear that you are still up with your weight. Sometimes I get discouraged too with the weight doing the see-saw like it does, but I know that it won't stay up too long. I just need to get myself geared back up to being OP & buckle down & get some exercise done. I know that would help.
Hey, I didn't write down the dates of the January get together in Orlando. Can someone please tell me again when it will be so that I can jot it down & figure out if it's my work week or not??? I really need to figure it out now to see if I need to put in a request for time off or not.
Well, got to go. Have GS with me today. Still no school here since the hurricane. Not everyone has power. Some of our schools sustained much damage, so they have decided to wait till Monday to send kids back to school. I'm going to answer phones at the church again today, then back to work this evening & the week end. Have a good day all!!
SEF where are you????? You should be back from vacation by now! Hope the floods from Izzy are not keeping you off the board. I know it was pretty bad in your area. Please let us know that you are back. We need your FF's!!!

Morning everyone! TOM is here (has been all week) and I can tell that today is going to be a crampy day--lovely.
Melf--It sure takes a while for things to get back to normal doesn't it? Thoughts are still with you and you help out the folks that need it after the storm.
Tranquil--Welcome Home girl!!! You'll have to tell us about the trip. Don't worry about occassional lapses--your home now and can jump right back on!
Marie--I have to admit, I've never tried the spaghetti squash. How do you cook it when you use it in place of spaghetti? I've got to make a pot of sauce soon and would like to try the squash.
Cyndi--I think it is finally going to cool off here next week. I drove throught the CA desert (from Bakersfield to Las Vegas) a few years ago--in August. My gosh--how do you stand it? There were cards all over the highway with hoods up and steam pouring out--new old it didn't matter. Even at night it was like the air was on fire. If there was wind, it was hot--no coolness to it at all.
Jack-K--yup we need SF rita mixes. I find that when I go to a Mexican Restaurant and drink a rita--I wake up with (as Deb calls it) that barfy feeling. I do much better if I stick with a glass of red wine. But I do love the ritas!
DebyJ--WTG on the three pounds!!!!!!!
YellowRose--It's good to hear from you!
Country--Cool front--I'm jealous! I think it will be here by Monday--so they say. I know how it is when you have a barrior you just can't get through. You've already flirted with the 152--you'll bust through for good soon!
BOB--Good to hear that your mom came through the surgery OK! Why does it NOT surprise me that she might be a tad headstrong and opinionated????? What's that about apples not falling far from trees??????
Deb--Go back and get some sleep--you deserve it!
Tomorrow's a big footall day! Auburn and Ark are here. I'm hoping BOB's UT wore out the Razorbacks in that 6th overtime last week! Meanwhile UT and UGA fight it out in Athens--Sorry BOB but I have to root for UGA on this one! NC State plays UNC--so this is a big game in NC! Lot's to keep an eye on. I don't remember who UF and UK are playing. What's LSU up to Missy?
Have a good day everyone!

Good Friday Morning Everyone:wave:
Just got in from doing the usual 4.5 miles. Only took me 50:58 today, knee felt better so I was able to jog more today. Still brutally hot down here though. I keep praying for cooler air.
Weight is about the same. Yes, I stepped on the scale again. I'm waiting for the usual downward trend that I usually get right after mid-cycle and with today being day 14, well, I'm really hoping things will go as they usually have in the past and all of a sudden I'll see a drop on the scale. It sure as heck can't be that the scale is staying up from what I'm eating. I've been journaling just about every day and have been staying well within all limits. PLUS, with the miles I put in every week, you'd figure that would help as well. THOUGH, looking back, there were a few times that the scale went up, but the majority of the time it went down. So, hopefully, in the next 4-5 days I'll see something "give". Gaining a few pounds back made me once again think about the section from the book that I posted about the rats and yo-yo dieting a couple months ago. Every pound I gain comes on easier and is harder and takes longer to get off. You'd think that would be stuck in my mind. Maybe if I posted this information on the fridge/cupboards I'd think twice about cheating!
Speaking of weight...I haven't used my WC program in a while, so went on today and since I hadn't been on on my birthday it takes note of that and wishes you a happy bday and asks you what you think you'll weigh next birthday, so I put 122. Then it tells you your predictions that you put last birthday for this one (forgot that I did this) and I had put 123. Last year on my bday I weighed in at 121.5. So, in 1 years time, I've put on 10lbs!:fr: Not a nice thing to give ones self for their birthday! I would REALLY like to get back into my cushion of 119-124 with 122 being the place I'd really like to be again, but right now, just getting back to 129 in my focus!
I think I mentioned to you all about this couch problem my sister was having a few weeks ago? Anyhow, this new couch that was falling apart and the company kept coming out to repair and it was STILL falling apart but they wouldn't give her her money back, yadda, yadda, yadda...we left a msg. for the supervisor of this customer service mgr., who never returned the call. SO, I wrote a letter to the CEO of the company, sent it to my sister, she sent it certified mail. Didn't hear anything for almost 2 weeks and was ready to call one of those help lines from TV, or newspaper, to make this short-she got a letter of apology on Wed and they came to get the couch yesterday and is giving her a full refund:D Boy, was she happy!
Nothing too much doing with me here today. Lauren is staying after school til late to help with a play they are preforming tonight. As a Freshman, they don't preform in the large productions until they are Jr. & Sr.'s, but help with other stuff. Michael will probably just stay home and practice his guitar. He wrote a song for a friend of his named Suzie about a week and a half ago and then his friend Jimena asked if she could sing it and he would play the guitar so they could try out for a slot to perform at this benefit that's being held for the Make A Wish Foundation on Oct. 17th and he just found out they made it in. He was so excited, esp. he was up against kids who are in the music program at school and he's only been taking lessons for less than 4 months.
Tomorrow night I'll be over at SB. ELI booked the COFFEE HOUSE GYPSIES (better known as CHG) and they'll be playing from 7-10pm. They asked Michael to play a set with them, and to write his own verse for Knockin On Heaven's Door. Also, when they go take an intermission they said he and Jimena and do their song, which is titled Lock Without A Key. Okay, I know, brag, brag, brag, but just two more:^: Michael was also asked to go speak at some technical school about his video making. Only 3 kids from the school were asked, all in different areas of technology. And, of course, can't leave out Lauren. She went to take her drama teacher some papers the other day and he was teaching a class of 11th & 12th graders and he asked her to preform, right then, on the spot and she did. He wrote in her journal that he would of never asked her to do that if he didn't think she wasn't able to do it and unprepared and he knew when he asked her she'd be great, which she was. She was beaming! Okay, enough bragging.
Anyhow, do want to get in a few individual posts while I can before I have to get a few things done.
MELF, hope things start getting back to normal up there for your DD and everyone else in the community. It's tough enough to go through all this but I think even just as tough as dealing with insurance companies. They love to take our money, but go ask them to pay on claims...The WDW takes place on Jan. 12th, which is that Sunday. I will be coming in on Friday, Jan. 10th in the morning. We will most likely be staying at the RIU. I am going to post more info about the weekend on Monday.
ROSALIE, Happy Thanksgiving! Are you doing a big dinner? I think those cookies do tend to break easier. I remember I kept those in the freezer to keep them hard. They were delicious. I'm trying to not want to make something, lately I've wanted to bake something, but I know that can spell T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!
RED1, I think we are both praying for cooler weather, let's hope our prayers are answered SOON! Thanks for offering to help with the boards. I'll be taking you up on your offer soon and I truly believe it will make the job a lot easier, as well as faster:)
JACKK, 3 hours at a restaurant? Sounds like you had a good time. I'm sure those drinks aren't going to affect your weight if you're right back on track today - now, your mind and ability last night, that's another story. I think one drink would knock me to my knees. Not a drinker at all. Don't even care for wine, unless it's REALLY sweet. Seems I only care for the sweet stuff like Mogen David and I don't even take but a sip during Passover!
DEBY, good luck with the interview today. Please let us know how it goes. Good going with dropping those 3 pounds again!
YELLOW, glad to see your post and to know you had a good time with your DD visiting you. My parents are still in NC and won't be leaving til the end of this month. They are just loving it up there. They got new carpeting up there, some other changes and just have made it feel so much like home that they don't want to come back anytime soon. If it wasn't for the grandkids I don't think they'd come back til much later. My DM told me they went to the new library in Greenville and that it was so awesome. If you are in that area, you may want to stop in, if you like libraries. I love looking at the cookbooks, Michael loves the forgeign films.
COUNTRY, I'm hoping you are right with the scales moving again, as long as it's in the right direction!!!
TRANQUIL, glad to see you're back, safe and sound. I'm sure you have a lot to catch up with at work, with Zach and homework, with stuff in general. I can't wait to hear all about your trip! Was going to call you last night and by the time I turned around, it was 11pm, figured you were in the middle of your beauty sleep!
BOB, I'll be calling you later today to hear the latest about you Mom. Try not to let all this stress you out, it will all work out. Wish I was closer to help out, you know I would if I could:)
BETH, I'm sure you'll get back on track. Is it your Mom who posts on the 3FC'S site as well? Someone's Mom does and was wondering if it's yours. Should I give you a DD phone call???? Did you try taking the hamsters to a pet store?
FILLISE, wow, would I have loved to have gone back to sleep today, but no, I had to get in that walk. I took off yesterday and with tomorrow being garage sale day, I don't walk on Saturdays, so today, I had to get my butt out. Hope you feel better!!!
Okay, gals, that's going to be it for me, for now. Sorry if I didn't get in a personal reply to many of you. Just know, you are ALL in my thoughts, all the time.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I'll check in later today.

I'm silly I know..but I am so excited this morning. The scales say........152!! That is 87 or 88 pounds down. I know my numbers won't show that but that's because of different scales. But I know...woo hoo!!
Also I know why I put on a couple of pounds this week only to lose them right back. Something about the brown rice makes me hold onto water weight. So...because I am so vain I won't be eating very much brown rice. :) After bouncing between 154-157 it feels great to finally be below that. What's so funny is those 2 pounds are just enough for all my pants to fit comfortably instead of being just a little snug.
So those of you who feel stuck in the same weight forever..it took me almost 6 months to finally lose a couple of pounds. Hang in there.
Love,
Crystle

Good morning all.. Just got back from having coffee at the cafe with some lady friends and some breakfast while there. The weirdest thing is happening everytime I eat eggs lately I get kind of sick to my stomach. I guess it wouldn't hurt me not to eat them the rest of my life but they're such a great source of protein.... Oh well.... I also walked in the campground before coming home. You can tell I live in a small town. Population 600. My DH and I walked last night so I'm getting my week in. Its damp and gloomy out today. Need to find something warm and comforting for dinner.. LOL...
Happy Birthday BKM
Happy Birthday SEF!!!!
Rosalie- Yep that self control drives me crazy!! Spraggetti sounds so good right now.. I may have to make some tonight...
Bob- Hope you get some much needed rest and lots of prayers for your Mom on getting along fine now..
Tranquil- Can't wait to hear about your trip.... Sure don't blame you for not eating OP...
CountryMom-Oh no don't tell me there is turtles that are sugar free. Oh my gosh turtles are my favorite in the world. Well because I ate those so fast I don't even know what one serving is. I can't believe I have so little self control. Need to get off those carbs for a bit too. In fact maybe I need to get locked in a rubber room... LOL... A great big congradulations on getting to 152. Way to go girl....
Yellowrose- Oh my goodness do you have a recipe for making preserves with agave. I have some plum and grape juice canned up and would love to make it into stuff I can eat... Its so great your daughter got to come visit. What a nice treat. I'm looking forward to my kids and grandkids coming from Colo. at the end of the month..
debyj- Congradulations on the losing the weight.. It feels so good to lose that gained weight. Hope you do well with your job interview... Wow I'm going to have to look at that italian stew recipe.
Jack-K- I cook my spraggetti squash in the microwave and it comes out great. There was a little tag on mine that said how. Love that mexican food and those marquitas... I'll have to try having the fajitas without the wraps... Sounds like you really did the exercise...
Red1-What state are you living in... Yep sugar free marquitas would be nice. Might have to use crystal light limade LOL...
Melf-It sounds like you have a busy day at the church.. Take you a snack along...
Fillise- Hope you get over that crampy feeling and have a great day.
Debilli- You're doing a wonderful job on the recipe board. Thank you so much for all your hard work... Your post about weight gives me a scare. I've been at my goal weight before and gained it back and lots more and have done this 3 times. The thought of doing this again scares me to death. Its discourageing to think of this being a constant fight no matter what we do. Not that it for a minute makes me want to get off this program or to stop trying. And I guess anyone with a drinking or drug problem thinks about this too. And I have a whole new respect for everyone that gets and keeps there life in control... Good for you writing the letter for your sister. It must have been really good, and I'll bet shes really thankful to your writing skills!!! Your kids are doing so great and you should be a proud mama bragging on them..
Well clothes should just about be ready to get out of the dryer and I think I've posted to everyone I can.. Happy Friday to you all.

Hi:
Thanks all for the welcome back and the encouragement to jump back in the group! I missed you all! I need you ALL!!!!! You all keep me on track more than you can possibly know it!
I will catch up today after I go pick up my salad and get back to my desk. I also thought I would post a travel report about the trip on our section Off the Eaten Path for those who want to read about the trip....
Debbie, my last dinner in London was at Al Bustan, a Lebanese restaurant to die for.... incredibly delicious! I thought of you and Bob as I dipped my bread into all kinds of delicious salads, hummus, and cheeses, etc.!!!!

Since I didn't get to report in on WIW, I will do so now. I am down 1 pound this week! I am thrilled after being up for so many weeks. I feel the bloating coming on again so will enjoy this while it lasts.
I am so happy that the Witch (Tranquil) has returned from London! OK, I'm not really calling my buddy a name. She bought a pair of black shoes, with a silver buckle and very pointed toes, that look just like something you would imagine on a witch. Well, maybe I should call her that for the delicious candy that she brought me back to eat that was not SB legal! LOL
Tranquil - I don't blame you for all the indulgences you allowed yourself while on vacation. I'm sure I would have done the same thing. Now, it's back on the wagon and we can help keep each other on board!
country - Yippee for you on the 88 pound loss! How exciting for you. Thanks for explaining what a deer lease is. I kind of thought that was it. I agree that Bow hunting is much more challenging. I learned to shoot and hunt at the age of 8, so would love to be able to get out in the woods with you. I personally don't see anything wrong with hunting when the meat is used for personal consumption. I think I would have a problem shooting a deer now, only because one of my greyhounds looks so much like one.
Rosalie - We did end up naming the new kitty, Pinky. Thanks for giving me the web sight for Bombay Dreams. I figured that anything produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber had to be good. Hope you car is running good now that you had to spend so much on it this week.
gracious - glad you are back on the board. I missed you! I loved the hamster picture too. It reminds me so much of myself! LOL
Jackk- congratulations on your one year anniversary on SB. Your weight loss is totally awesome and inspiring! I love margaritas too and would have a hard time passing them up. You did good with only having two. If I'm decide I'm going to have one, then it actually ends up being about 4..
Red1- I had the same thought about finding a sugar free mixer for margaritas. Like they say, great minds think alike!
BOB - What a good loser you are! WOW - 6 pounds!
Toni - your fresh applesauce sounds so delicious! What type of apple do you use? I'm going to try to make some soon.
Fillise and Jack-k - Problems with men at work this week?? All the more reason that I enjoy my work being mostly with dogs and cats. They are much easier to deal with.
mercy - I say losing 1 pound is great! I'll take that any day over a gain. Actually, I never get tired of pet sitting, especially for the greyhounds. They are so sweet, gentle and laid back.
Sef - hope you had a Happy Birthday and are well and safe!
Quilter - I've been missing you! What have you been up to? Don't stay away too long now!
Well, have to get out of here and go work for a few hours. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

I got a nice big surprise this morning. I came to visit my mom. You hear me talk about all the different scales ect at my house since I started. Well, mom has a scale that has been the same since last Dec...I am excited to say...my fully dressed weight on those was 149...10 down from Christmas last year. I was truly surprised. Enough about my weight.
Welcome back Tranquil!!! Did you take a done of pictures to share? Did you have a total blast? I have a friend coming to visit from England. I keep teasing her and telling her to keep the chocolates over there. Last year from Christmas she sent a ton of the delicious stuff...and yep I had to taste just a little. :)
Serene...I think it's so cool that you know how to use a bow too. I haven't had a chance to shoot in days. I use to shoot every day. I hope my husband and I can get back to that after deer season. Congrates on the 1!!!! Every pound counts. Keep up the good work.
Toni....yep...sugar free and da bomb! Three little tutles are a serving. I also like the chocolate truffles...they torture me until they are all gone. :D I have a problem with the eggs also...I get indigestion that is almost unbearable. Every now and then I will still eat them just because I like them.
Susan...thanks for your encouragement.
Well, I'm at my mom's so I'd better not stay on this thing too long. Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend. Full of good OP eats and laughter.
Love,

I am still here and want to congratulate all those who lost this week! Way to go!!!
Jack-K: Whooo Hooo on your total. You truly are in inspiration. You'll be buying that whole new wardrobe before you know it!
LKM: You are just an encourager. Glad you are on the board with us and hope you have a glorious vacation.
Deb: Thanks for all the work you put in on the boards. The recipes are looking good.
Tranquil: Welcome back. We expect pictures real soon.
Fillise: I'm going to track down those Southern Sisters books. After reading about how to teach multi-cultural children, I need something light. I have one more chapter and two more reaction papers to write. And three more classes this semester.
Rose: We'll have to plan a get together when you get back to BigD. And we better make it soon, before my DH ships me off to Amarillo. He loves it out there. (We'll see what he's saying in January!)
Beth: You still got my email address, girlfriend? You can write and whine to me whenever you need to. My folks are in your neck of the woods visiting my DB this weekend.
CM4H: I am sooo glad this front came through. We finally got rain we needed and I love the cool weather. I can't wait for that blue northern they are talking about. Supposed to be here Saturday night and Sunday night's low will be in the 40s.
Tina: Hope your DH's job is going great for him. How will you go to part time? How's your mom?
Melf: Glad you are okay. I heard Erath got it bad and I know folks there. Haven't heard from them in years and am not sure they even still live there. But I've been thinking about them, none the less.
Daramus: Get yourself pulled up by your bootstraps, Son. You can do this. Keep coming back here and reading about us poor old ladies and you'll feel so sorry for us you'll lose your appetite! Don't let the slips cause you to give up. You are having such success getting healthy. Don't give up now
BOB: Glad your mom is improving. Hope you get lots of rest. Good luck with your team this weekend. I'm not holding my breath for either one of mine.
My time has run out and I have to leave for the airport to pick up DH. Have a splendid weekend, all.

White Sweet Potatoes
White sweet potatoes are a variety of regular orange sweet potatoes. Both orange and white sweet potatoes are in the Morning glory family, Convolvulaceae. White sweet potatoes are also called camote, boniato, or batata. The outside skin of the white sweet potato is a brownish-purple or a reddish-purple color. The inside flesh of the white sweet potato is white or cream colored and is very firm. (Sweet potatoes are not related to regular white potatoes, which are in the night-shade family, Solanaceae. Sweet potatoes are not related to true yams, family Dioscoreaceae).
White sweet potato flour is high in fiber. There are about 1520 calories in one pound of white sweet potato flour. The composition is approximately: 77% carbohydrates, 2.1% protein, 2.1% fat, 14.3% fiber, 0.8% water, and 3.6% minerals (By way of comparison, whole wheat flour has 1500 calories, and has the following composition: 68.7% carbohydrates, 13.3% protein, 2% fat, 2.3% fiber, 12% water, and 2.4% minerals. Wheat is in the grass family, Gramineae).
White sweet potato flour is raw, not roasted flour, and it does not require cooking or roasting before use. White sweet potato flour can be used to make muffins, milk, imitation nut butter, cookies, breads, pancakes, dough-nuts, dumplings, bagels and who knows what else. (Recipes are supplied with the flours).
ALL recipes are made without wheat or other grains, without yeast, and without milk, eggs, or sugar. Amazingly, everything is delicious! White sweet potato flour is a good thickener for gravies, soups, stews and sauces. White sweet potato pasta is light brown in color and is brittle; when cooked, the pasta is the color of whole-wheat noodles and the consistency of regular noodles.

Hey Gang,
The week is finally over for me. Yeah!! Going to dinner and maybe a movie with my DN tonite. Art/craft show in Bardstown, KY tomorrow and then one last bridal shop to check for dresses. If we don't find anything, we will order one we found somewhere else. Then Sunday, DH returns.
BKM, Have a great birthday tomorrow. :hb: :gift: :hat:
Red1, It probably doesn't get too cold out there does it? I'm not a winter person, so right after Christmas I am ready for summer. I need to live in Fla or somewhere hot all the time. How about some sf lemonade mixed with tequilla and frozen ice? Think that would be close?
Rosalie, thanks for the idea. I will get some at the grocery next time.
Melf, See you are still at your volunteering. That is so sweet of you. Bet your GS is glad to be tagging along with you today. I wonder if Sef doesn't have power and can't get back on here.
Fillise, Shame I didn't have that "barfy feeling" today. Maybe it would keep me from doing it again. UK plays SC. we are favored to win. let's hope we can do it.
Deb, How exciting for Michael. I bet he is trilled. Lauren too, I can't imagine performing on demand like that. She must be good. Don't worry about bragging. That's what mom's are supposed to do. and You can do all you want right here. I think it is wonderful when kids excel. Makes you so proud. Glad your knee is better. Have fun at the SB thing. You should video Michael performing if you can. It is scary when you look at the whole year that you have gained 10 lbs. One or two here and there doesn't seem too bad, but 10 makes you think. We must be very careful or that 10 turns to 20 or 30 really quick. I'm sure you will see that drop real soon. WTG on getting your DS's money back. I have a niece like that. SOmetimes it pays to be pushy.
Country, Woo Hoo is right. I am doing the  for you today. 152 is great or 149. Plus 87 or 88 is fantastic. That is a whole person. With you being so young, I bet you look hot! :flame:
Toni, Sounds like you got some walking in. Good for you. Can't imagine why the eggs would make you sick. Maybe it's the way they are prepared or with what. I'm going to have to try that spaghetti squash.
Serene, Yes dogs should be easier to work with, unless maybe males dogs are like men. Don't you eat that candy. Give it to your son.
Have a great nite and weekend. Hope to be on here sometime Sat.

FRIDAY FUNNIES
A small tourist hotel was all abuzz about an afternoon wedding where the groom was 95 and the bride was 23. The groom looked pretty feeble and the feeling was that the wedding night might kill him, because his bride was a healthy, vivacious young woman. But lo and behold, the next morning, the bride came down the main staircase slowly, step by step, hanging onto the
banister for dear life.
She finally managed to get to the counter of the little shop in the hotel. The clerk looked really concerned, "Whatever happened to you, honey? You look like you've been wrestling an alligator!"
The bride groaned, hung on to the counter and managed to speak, "Ohhh God! He told me he'd been saving up for 75 years, and I thought he meant his money!!"

A saleswoman is driving toward home in Northern Arizona when she sees a Navajo woman hitchhiking. Because the trip had been long and quiet, she stops the car and the Navajo woman climbs in. During their small talk, the Navajo woman glances surreptitiously at a brown bag on the front seat between them.
"If you're wondering what's in the bag," offers the saleswoman, "it's a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband."
The Navajo woman is silent for awhile, nods several times and says, "Good trade."

Hi all, just a really quick note to say 2 things...
1. Debelli, Jan 12th is my week end off!!! I will talk with dh & see if we can maybe swing it for me to fly up to orlando. Let me know about the hotel that you will be staying at if you would. It would be wonderful to be able to be there. Wouldn't it be fabulous if a bunch of us SB gals could be there????
2. SEF has returned. Got a quick email note from her. She got home just last night so she should be popping in soon.
Got to get ready for work. Have to do a 4 hr shift tonight & back in the morning for 4 hrs so that I can have tomorrow afternoon off for our fall festive at our church. We're having 3 gospel bands, burgers, dogs, soft drinks, games for the kids, etc. Don't want to miss it! Later!!!

I posted this in the past, I just updated the list:
Here's what I have in my stash. Please note, I personally do not believe one should eat ANY chocolates until you are close to or at goal-I've seen too many people get into trouble with it. Montgnac says at maintenance. I believe GETTING THE SUGAR OUT means no chocolate-but to each his own. I didn't have my first piece of SB LEGAL CHOCOLATE until almost 1 year OP. Some of the bars I've had sitting in my cupboard for well over a year now (since June 2000)-and to think, I was once a CHOCOHOLIC!!
Some of these bars have been bought out of the country, I tried to note the ones that were to the best of my recollection.

Evening All:wave:
Hope you are all ready for the weekend. I sure am!!
Well, Michael got accepted in to this film class and he's so excited! I didn't think he got in because he told me 2 people in his school were accepted and they were called on the phone. When he got home, he checked his e-mail and there was an acceptance letter there that he was in the class. This means every other Saturday til March 22nd, he'll be going downtown to this class and at the end of the class his film is shown in a Film Festival-so, needless to say, we have a happy camper here today.
On the other hand, his father just called me to tell me he got suspended from his job. He went to get something to eat after leaving the bank with a deposit and was followed. They broke in his car and stole $600. Instead of replacing the money he reported the theft and since he didn't safeguard the money to company standards, they suspended him. There's a good chance he'll loose his job, even though he's been with the company for 22 years. Just have to wait to see what's going to happen, but worried that if this is the case he won't be able to give me money as he's always done. Things can easily go from bad to worse! Why do I always go for men in retail????
I've gotta tell you about my yummy lunch today. I took a ww tortilla and put it on my iron pan and got it hot, then took a pkg of tuna (the new ones that are not in the can), added a little salt, pepper, garlic powder and .2oz of lf mayo and mixed that up and put it on the tortilla (while it's still on the griddle), topped it with an ounce of lf cheese til it was all hot and melted. Topped half with almost a tbl of lf sour cream and then put mild taco sauce (thanks Taco Bell) on top - YUM! It's delicious, and filling too!
When we use to have our pizzeria, we did a dessert pizza that was really popular, not made with regular pizza crust, but a flaky crust made for desserts. I'm going to try and make one on a ww tortilla one day. We topped it with a whipped cream cheese mixture which I'm sure I can duplicate using agave and then had a fruit toppping, baked it til hot a bubbly. I'll let you know when I do and how it comes out.
COUNTRY, CONGRATS on showing a loss-no matter who's scale it's on. I personally won't get on any other scale, not even at the Dr.'s (when I dare go), as I know I'll always weigh more, no matter what. At home I weigh in the buff, can't try that out in public! Keep up the great work, I'm gearing up for a big happy dance when you hit the 90lb mark!!!
TONI, that's odd that eggs are now beginning to bother you. I've been eating more eggs in the last few weeks, ever since I opened up the SF ketchup I bought a while back. I have to agree, they are a good source of protein without a lot of calories and not too much fat.
I've met my intended goal weight once and I too gained it back. We have to think about what we've learned from past experiences, or what we haven't learned so this won't happen again. Unfortunately, once we lose the weight we don't magically become one of those fortunate people who can eat anything and not worry about it, it's something that has to be in the forefront of our minds forever.
TRANQUIL, hmmm, I swear, I've heard/been to a ME rest. by the same name here in the States! I bet your meal was delish! Can't wait to hear about all the other goodies you ate. As I told you before, sites don't get me all excited, the food does! What a sick puppy I am!
SERENE, you go girl! Down another pound! WOO HOO! Okay, did you talk to TRANQUIL about that much-needed vacation that you need after taking care of all the hounds and cats? Can't wait to see those witch shoes! Are you sure they can't double up as cockaroach killers? Hey, love the greyhound picture - how about having that one tatooed on you???? LOL!!
JRED, have a good weekend with DH!
JACKK, I love good art shows and craft shows. They don't start down here til Nov., until it gets a bit cooler. Enjoy yourself. Hope you have some luck at the other bridal store. I'm sure you can't wait for DH to come home. Will he be bringing lots of dead animals home for you to cook up?:s: My BIL has deer at home but my sister refuses to try it. I'd try it, now that I know he didn't die from it since he already ate some. I read a story about bad deer meat in a magazine, so would be hesitant to be the first to try it-I'm not taking any chances!!! Yes, doesn't it all out suck that I've gained 10lbs since last year. Granted, I was well below my goal weight then, but still, 10lbs is 10lbs. If I really want to make matters worse, I've gained even more from my all time low of 118, not a place I ever intended to be. But, I can make myself feel a tad better by saying I've only gained 2.5lbs (as of today) from my goal. Even though they're just numbers, they still make a big impact on the way I feel.
MELF, that would be wonderful if you could come down that weekend! What about DH coming with you? If not, I'm sure you could room with someone if you want to. The more the merrier! Hey, maybe you can get some other gals from the area to drive down with you and make it a road trip. Think about the different possibilities available. I'm definitely excited!!!!! Thanks for letting us know SEF is home. Maybe you can snag her to come down in Jan too!!!
DEBY, WOO HOO! Good news on the job interview! Good luck on Monday. Okay, so maybe I missed it, what kind of job is it for???
Okay, I'm outta here for the evening. Eli told me he was closing the store, but called me a couple hours ago to tell me he'd be home around 7pm,which in coffee talk means 8-9. Won't complain, it's better than 1-2am, that's for sure. Going to see what I can scrounge up and call dinner.
Have a wonderful weekend. Will try to check in tomorrow!!

Good evening all, or should I say good morning :)
BOB - Hope you are feeling rested and your Mom is doing o.k.
Tranquil - Welcome back. Glad you enjoyed your holiday. I enjoyed reading the report you posted. Sounds like you had a very busy time and did lots of interesting stuff. I just love Indian food and there are so many good restaurants in London.
YellowRose - That's great that your daughter was able to visit with you. I'm sure that was a pleasant surprise for you after your disappointment last week.
Jack-K - Glad you enjoyed those margaritas. If you are going to go off plan you may as well have fun doing it
Melf - Hope things are beginning to get back to normal for you although it sounds like there is a lot of cleaning up to do. I bet the kids were happy to get some extra time off school though.
Fillise - You cook the spaghetti squash the same as any other squash. The last time I cooked it I did it in the microwave in a covered dish with a little water for about ten minutes. When it is cooked just scrape it off the skin with a fork and it comes off in strands. Yummy.
Deb - Glad to hear your knee is feeling better. BTW try and keep some of that hot weather around for December. That's when I am coming down to Orlando again, this time with with my son, dil and 2 grandkids as well as my other ds. We will be there for Christmas but unfortunately will be home before the WDW marathon. Too bad it couldn't be a week later but we have to do it while the kids are on school holidays. Ten pounds up since this time last year. What happened. Has this been a gradual gain or has it crept up recently? I hope you can nip it in the bud and not let things get too far out of hand. You have come too far to let things get out of control. I guess we will have to put you in the dungeon! Glad to hear that your sister got her money back for the couch. Obviously you did the right thing writing that letter. Congrats to both Lauren and Michael. You have every right to be proud of them. I'm going to be cooking a turkey dinner on Monday. I will have my family as well as my dil's parents and a friend of mine. There'll be 15 of us altogether, including six kids from age 9 to 15. I'm planning on doing a squash casserole, green peas, coleslaw and green salad. I'll also have to do some rice or potatoes, not sure which one yet. I don't plan on eating either, although I'll probably have a little turkey dressing. For dessert I will be making a trifle. Not exactly legal but my kids like it and about the only time I make it is when we have company. I'll also have some fresh fruit for dessert. Sorry to hear about the kids Dad getting suspended from his job. That's really tough. I hope his boss will show some compassion and not fire him.
CountryMom - I'm doing the happy dance for you. That's wonderful that you have lost 88 pounds. I understand what you mean about the scales. It's the same with me. The scales I am using now weigh about 5 pounds heavier than my old scale. But as long as we are aware of the total we have lost, that is all that matters.
Serene - Glad your buddy is home safe and sound.
Debyj - Glad your interview went well. Good luck with the second one on Monday.
Sef - Welcome back. Glad you enjoyed your holiday. Looking forward to your posts. Have missed you.
Time to hit the sack before I need to go and raid the 'fridge.
Nite all.
Marie.

I can't believe I'm up and have a brisket in the oven already. :) I was out of marinate so I just rubbed it with salt, garlic, pepper and chipotle sauce. Man, it smells devine already. My tummy is growling. I didn't have a big eating day yesterday. I just wasn't hungry. I can tell today is gonna be different....my tummy is a growling away.
The reason I have a brisket in the oven is we are going camping tonight and tomorrow. This way it's done and I can just slice and serve. So much easier than trying to cook while we are out there. A front is suppose to come through tomorrow and really drop the temps....yeah.
Jeannie...enjoy the cool weather. I think you are gonna a little colder than us. I like it now but come winter I whine when it gets too cold.:)
Rosalie....thank you. And good morning. I see you were up moving early this morning. I'm up but I'm moving slow...LOL I need to be packing. Yawn......:D
Deb....thanks for all the funnies and info on the yams. I love them. I was gonna pick some up yesterday but forgot. They are finally on sale here. 3 pounds for a dollar. I also weigh in the buff at home. I'm a totaly goober. I have my morning weight..my night weight. I fully dressed weight and my nakie weight. I know where they all should be....aint that terrible.
Sef...welcome back! ((hugzz)) Glad to hear that you had a great vacation.
Debyj.....woo hoo on the good interview. Praying the next one goes as well.
Jack-K ...thank you. Not hot but a lot better than 17 months ago.
:) I think I will always have this extra skin in the tummy leg area..but snug pants help alot. You are doing so good. You encourage me every day not to give up. Have fun today shopping. Hope you find the perfect dress.
Well, guess I'd better getting moving. Or at least stretch..LOL Have a SUPER weekend.
Love,

Well I woke up to a phone call from Serene, her oldest son, who was on his way to a bachelor's party last night on his motorcycle, had an accident, and he is in the hospital badly scraped and bruised, but they are scanning him for internal injury...so far he seems to be just badly beaten up from the tumble, thank God! So she is with him around the corner from where I live, and in a few I will get ready to run out and bring her a bite to eat and some coffee.
Today is one of those days where I have to unpack, laundry, clean house, you name it! Yuch!!!!!
Country - Have fun camping, be safe, and the brisket sounds delicious!
Rosalie - Glad to know I am not alone in loving Indian food! :) I wonder if you will have a free moment and some of us can get together in December to say hello in Orlando?
Deb - I am getting very excited about seeing everyone for the WDW Marathon! I am also going to try and figure out how I can get away with taking a day off to drive down to Miami for a visit! I need a vacation from my vacation, hahahaha
Sef - I am so glad you had a good vacation!!!! My brother just flew in to NJ to visit my parents for the next three weeks. He lives in Japan and teaches English to little children.
DebyJ - YOU GO GIRL WITH YOUR INTERVIEWS!!! Break a Leg!!!!
Melf - I was worried about you during the hurricane, but glad to see you did not get washed away!!!! Serene told me you were at the hospital working, safe and sound, how did your home do?
Where did DH go during the storm?
JackK - Margueritas are yummy, but good for you bringing your triscuits and eating the fajitas without the wraps!!! Good idea for me because I love Mexican food, but I need to wait awhile before tempting myself to sit without ordering a Marguerita - hahaha...need to lose some much needed weight first! I need to remember that if all of you can be successful losers, so can I!
Oh Country - Sorry, I forgot to say Congratulations on your weight - that is so wonderful!!!!!!!!
JRed - Thanks for the welcome. As soon as I get some pictures back from the developing, I will scan them and post them right away!!!!
Bob - I am so sorry to hear about your Mom! Meanwhile, I thought of you as I ate at the Lebanese restaurant in London, thought how much you would have enjoyed it too - these are the times when you wish everyone can come with you on vacation so you can share the experience!
Well, got to get ready to do chores and take care of Serene!
Sabrina :)

Hey All:wave:
Just wanted to pop in and get in a post before it gets too late and I find I don't have time. I'm home all alone:D so the computer is mine, all mine!!!!:s:
Not many garage sales out there today. Found a few things for the kids and bought a brand new Queen size inflatable bed that has the frame underneath so whenever any of my SB PALS come to visit, I'll have even more space to put y'all! :D
SEF, once again, welcome back! Was great to talk with you today - enjoy all the wonderful TJ's items you carted home!!!
ROSALIE, Poop! Darn! You know how much I wish you could be with us in WDW, esp. with the prospect of MELF coming, and I'm trying to see if SEF can come down too-heck, I'd like to convince everyone to come. How about you just stay behind when the rest of the family leaves. Maybe you can hide somewhere inside Cinderella's Castle and stay there until we come down, then fly home? Do you think anyone at WDW would notice you if you just moved in??? LOL!! Well, you could always come down and stay with me for a few weeks and then go to Orlando with me and then fly home-make an extended vacation. Hey, can't say I don't try! The pounds have inched their way on in recent months. Now that they have they are harder to get off than the first time. I know it's impossible to stay one set weight, but I really want to stay in the cushion, lower than my goal with goal being the highest I would ever go. I never wanted to see the 130's ever again and I'm just hoping to get back in the 120's soon, very soon! Enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner!!
COUNTRY, I think you got my mouth watering too! Sounds yummy! Have fun camping. You are too funny, and I thought I was bad with the scale!!!
TRANQUIL, I tried calling SERENE this morning. Spoke to Lindsay, she didn't say anything about her being at the hospital! When did this all happen, and how? Tell her I'm sending good thoughts their way - geez, this is all she needs, something else to worry about. Give her a big hug for me, would you? I'm getting excited about the WDW Marathon as well, it's going to be a blast! You know you are welcome any time for a Miami vacation - we just have to make it a weekend that Michael doesn't have the film class.
Well, I'm going to go out to the car and fish out the rest of the junk I have in there, start some laundry, maybe take a nap??? Actually, I think I will make a new walking tape. I need some new music to jog to and get me pumped up.
I will probably not check in later this evening, won't be home til 11pm and will probably be pooped. Will try to check in sometime tomorrow though.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Gang
Will hav to make this fast. For some odd reason my computer keeps getting these pop-ups. Tons of them (porn sites too). I already got interruppted 5 times just so far. I had to keep clicking while I was reading the posts. It is so annoying. Anyone have any suggetions on how to stop this?
I got a nice surprise today. DH came home a day early. The hunting was not good. No water, no ducks. But I am happy he is home safet and sound. No luck at the Bridal shop. We will order one we have found. Got a good deal. It was about $300 cheaper through this discount order house. Keeping my fingers crossed that it goes ok. Have settled ont he bridesmaids dress too. The skirts are black and the tops are black and silver plaid and strapless. Very classy looking.
Better run before this stupid computer goes totally crazy.
BKM have a great birthday!
Serene, Hope your son is doing ok. take care of yourself too. You two girls have had enough troubles.
Hugs to everyone else. Thinking of you all.

Good to talk to you this morning while you were shopping at the
yard sales. It made me feel like I was there with you!
I went to SEARS yesterday and bought myself a 27 inch TV for $199  It's like having a movie screen in my bedroom..after all these years of having a 19 inch, it
is a great addition...
I'm taking advantage of being home by myself to get this house cleaned! I've let it go for too long and I'm finding dust bunnies in places where I never thought they could get...
COUNTRY MOM made me hungry for beef, so I've got a hunk of meat to throw on the grill a little later.
I'm off to do some more cleaning...

I just got back from being with Serene and her son. He is suffering from bruises, soreness and road rash - along with a small laceration on his spleen (but not bleeding, so no surgery), and he really hurts, causing Serene to fret of course. After he saw the surgeon and she got a good report that he is to be checked out tomorrow, her son got a shot for the pain, and then I took her out to get a bite to eat. She will head on over my way this evening and check on him...I live very close to the hospital he is at....It is difficult to see him suffer, but I know if he keeps getting shots and plenty of sleep in the meantime he won't suffer so much....
Well, I have to get to my chores...
BOB - I posted on the Off the Eaten Track about my vacation...and I will post pics on it as well as soon as they are back from developing :) I am eager to see the photos myself!!!
Take care ALL!!!! Sabrina

Good Afternoon!
I am home for a few minutes and thought I'd get in a quick post.
Tranquil, thank you for posting about my son's accident. As always, you came to my rescue with starbuck's coffee, food and your caring heart. Don't know how I would get along without you!
Deb, I got the dreaded call at 1am from my older son's father. You know the one where they say "he is gonna be OK, BUT....... "
Adam is always very carfeful on his motorcyle but it was one of those unavoidable things where it was the fault of someone being stupid in a car. He tried to stop, the brakes froze, the bike fishtailed and he was thrown off of it - about 20 feet, rolling on the asphalt. I thank God that he wears a helmet or might not be alive. He has a broken rib, sprained ankle, the small laceration on the spleen as Tranquil mentioned, and lots of scrapes (road rash) and bruises on the hands, arms, shoulders, face and knees. As we all know, asphalt is not very kind to the skin. The main concern was the spleen and if it were bleeding. He is in a lot of pain but will heal in time. He was supposed to be in his best friends wedding this afternoon, so that is most upsetting to him. He wanted to try to make it to the wedding but of course the surgeon told him no way. I don't think that Lindsey knew about it when you called this morning as I did not wake her up before leaving for the hospital. So, soon I will leave and go by the hospital again, then on to Tranquil's house to relax and watch a movie. I will be just around the corner from the hospital if I am needed and Adam will be sleeping a lot due to the pain shots. You can call me at her house tonight if you would like to, say after nine to be sure I am there already.
Thanks for the thoughts and good wishes for my son from everybody.
BOB - such good news that your Mom is doing better! Sounds like she is on her way to a speedy recovery.
Happy Birthday Chris!:hb: Hope you are having a happy day.
Welcome back sef!
Happy camping Cyrstle!
Well, I for one am glad this week is almost over. My daughter got beat up at school on Tuesday and now this with my son. That is quite enough to handle for one week.

What a day!! We had a Fall Festival at our church today with fun & games for the kids & 3 Gospel groups came to sing. We had drawings for door prizes & guess who won the main door prize?? :cp: Yeap! It was me!! My pastor's wife had crocheted a large doll. She put alot of work in it & it's really cute, but I said which grand-daughter will I give it too??? I gest. I only have 4 grandsons with NO prospects for a GD at all! :( Oh well, I'll just keep it to put on my bed or some little girl may end up with it.
Tranquil thanks for the lovely compliment. You are sooo sweet. You are truely a sweet friend to Serene. She is very fortunate to have you for a friend. I'm so glad you were back for her!
Serene, you surely have had a trying week with all that going on! {{{HUGS & PRAYERS}}} :grouphug: I sure hope things go well for Adam. That even SOUNDS painful! OUCH! Poor guy. Hope he gets a good night's rest & you too.
BOB, glad to hear that your mom is on the road to recovery. Hope things go well for her at the Assisted Living & Rehab.
Jack-K, those pop ups sound really annoying! What you think? Do you have a good anti virus program & updated??? Hope you get it cleared up soon.
Debelli, you sure are a good garage sale shopper! You always seems to find good buys! Isn't it nice not to have to compete for the puter sometimes? Hey, that was great news about Michael & Lauren the other day. I know you must be a very proud moma!
Rosalie, I agree with Debbie, too bad your vacation is a little sooner than the WDW Marathon. It would be great to be able to meet you too. I'm still not sure that I will be able to go, but right now, I'm sure planning to give it my very best try!
Well, I've got to go. Tomorrow it's back to work for me. The good thing about that is that it's another day closer to next week end. :D Bye ya'll

Chris - HAPPY BIRTHDAY :hat: :gift: :hb: :joker:
CountryMom - Hope you have a good weekend camping.
Tranquil - I would love to be able to meet you and some of my other sb pals in December but I think that it might be difficult to arrange as I will be there Christmas week and so close to the WDW meeting. We are planning on leaving here on the 22nd, arriving in Orlando late on the 23rd if things go as planned. We will be leaving Orlando the weekend before the WDW get together. I was in Orlando in March of this year and had a great get together with several sbers, including Debbie, Bob, Chris, Sonya and a few others.
Deb - The idea of staying behind when my family returns home does sound interesting. Perhaps if it was just a couple of days until the WDW I might consider it but I don't think I could manage a whole week. Thanks for the offer of a vacation with you but are you sure you meant for a few weeks. I'm sure you would be sick of me long before a week was up. ;)
BOB - Glad to hear your Mom is doing better.
Serene - So sorry to hear about your son's accident. Hope he is on the mend soon.
Melf - Congrats on winning the door prize at the church festival. I'm sorry too that I will not be at the get together at WDW. I would love to meet you too. I sure enjoyed the last sb get together that we had in Orlando.
Jack-K - Sorry to hear that dh's hunting trip wasn't very good but I am sure you were very happy to have him home a day early.
Have to go and get a few things ready for the morning. I have an early shift to work tomorrrow.
Bye.
Marie.

Well, let me run - I've got to get to the grocery store to buy my SB legal food!!

Hi guys. Just got back from our trip to Gainesville. My sister and her DH went with us and we stayed in a darling little cottage with its own courtyard--with a fountain and garden and all. It's at the B & B place we stay at when we go up in the fall for weekends. We are taking our 2 kids next weekend and are staying in another little house with 3 bedrooms. Should be fun, I hope.
The weekend was fun, except for the game. Congrats, Missy. The Tigers looked great and I'm sorry ghe Gators didn't give y'all more competition. The Gators' play was a joke, and, although I could see at the beginning of the season when they played the two "warm up teams" that this was DEFINITELY not goin' to be the Year of the Gator, I didn't not expect them to make a 180 quite so fast!! The defense actually has gotten better, but the offense has gotten worse each week. So our defense had to play almost the entire game, and those poor boys were mighty tired after playing virtually the whole game. And Rex was confused, poor guy. I think this might only be a 4 year stay for our new coach, unless something drastic happens. Poor guy.
In answer to your question, yep, we did see some tasteless LSU fans, Missy. Not too many, and we tried to make all that we saw feel at home in Gainesville by saying "welcome, and stuff like that. But some of the young "men" who, I think, get their self-image and bravado from how well their team is doing, were strutting around downtown before the game dragging toy gators along the ground. Pretty classless, I thought, but they did go home happy. It was a big win for LSU because the Gators had the Tigers' number for most of the past 14 years. I'm just sorry you missed coming here, as we could have had fun tailgating and visiting. Maybe in a couple of years. (If Zook is still coach, and he probably will be, it will be a W for your side!)
So, BOB and Fillise, a tough weekend for y'all too? I'm so sorry. I was pulling for you, although it is difficult to choose when 2 SEC teams play. I am always FOR the Gators, of course, and for SEC teams when they play any other conference, but it's hard to know who to root for when SEC teams play each other. I try not to be AGAINST any team. But since I know you all, I was pulling for you.
BOB, I'm really sorry Ewe Tea lost to UGA. The rivalry between UF and UGA runs deep and I actually think they are our biggest "foe." Since this is a SUPPORT board, and I want to stay supportive and not flame anyone, I will be careful to not say how deep. I think there is someone on the board who is a UGA fan and don't want to offend. But, I was a little sorry y'all didn't pick 'em off. Looks like they will go all the way to Atlanta.
Fillise, we see the UA Tigers next week. We'll be there, but don't know if the Gators will show up, mentally! LOL! It should be an interesting game. The Gators are on a downward spiral right now, so AU may come away with a big W. Hope not, but wouldn't be surprised. I hope you don't think I am poor mouthing anymore. If so, try to get the tape of either the Ole Miss-UF game or the LSU-UF game. You'll see what I mean. Some pathetic football on our side of the line.
I munched a little more this weekend. Had some WW pita bread with hummus for hors-d'oevres, along with some wheat crackers (prob. not SB legal) with cream cheese and hot pepper jelly. All you southern girls know how good that is! Then we went out for dinner and I had shrimp with garlic and a salad. Had SB cheesecake back at our cottage for dessert. Yum. Thanks again for that recipe, Deb.
Actually, I think my biggest faux pas was overeating with the nibbling. We had pistachios for snacks and we just kept nibbling and drinking wine!! :)
I DID take a 2 mile walk on Sat. morning, though, so I get a gold star for that. Gainesville has tons of historic victorian homes, such as the B & B we stay in, and we walk through that district for a lovely venue for exercise.
Well, I'm gonna go and study a little before we take off for the small group we lead. Wanted to say hi to my SEC buddies before next week.
BTW, Hi to Jack-K? Did UK play this week? Didn't notice any score.

Hello All!
OK is it just me or are those pop up ads that block the screen really annoying? I know the ads help to keep the website afloat, but I'm really put out by the ones that drop down over what you are trying to read--and are animated and take their sweet time about doing their thing. I don't mind ads on the website--but these I do mind!
Uh-Oh There's a whole lot of unhappy on the board after yesterday's games. Congrats Missy--I think you are the only SEC gal whose team won yesterday! I guess mine did if you count UGA--but Auburn stunk. Gator, I wouldn't worry too much about next week--we don't have a quarterback--and apparently no defense either.
Now my REAL team did just fine yesterday! NC State beat the you know what out of Carolina (UNC). I saw they are ranked in the top ten in one poll today. What was that you SEC gals were saying about the ACC????? I believe my beloved Wolfpack is ranked higher than either UF (could it be not ranked at all???) or UT! Sorry gals---NOT!
Tranquil--It is good to hear that your DS is going to be OK--how scary!!!! I hope his recovery is swift!
BIG K--Happy belated birthday!!!!! Yesterday was my father's birthday too--the football game was the best present he got! I hope you had a great day!
Talk to everyone tomorrow!

Well, I'm not completely back on track, but I'm getting there. I've done much better the last few days than I have been. Still no upward swing on the scale but really I kind of expected that. I've never been one to GAIN weight. I put on all my weight with my pregnancies ONLY, I just couldn't lose it. Even when I ate fast food for every meal, every day, I never put weight on. So that doesn't make it easier for me to stay legal, because I know I don't have much of a gaining problem :( BUT, I know this is best for me and I need to get back with it FULL force instead of half a$$ed so I can get in those 12's by Christmas!!!
DEB - I might need a DD phone call sometime soon!! I'm off tomorrow night, feel free to motivate me  Yes, my mom posts I think in the Weight Watchers boards. I don't know really, we sort of leave each other alone on the boards, and I don't read her stuff and I don't think she reads mine. Kind of letting each other be comfortable saying whatever we want to say without worrying the other will read it sort of thing. She called me last week on her birthday and was finally down under 200 for the first time in I think over a year!! I'm really proud of her!
JRED - Yes I still have your email addy and I need to get to typing instead of snacking!!! I'll send you one soon!
CINDY - I didn't get your email :( I think I must've 86'd it as spam. I tend to delete everything I don't recognize right away. If you'll put SUGAR BUSTERS really big in the subject line I'll get the hint I'm sure!! :) I'd love to write with you!
DARAMUS - you still out there? I need to get back on the ball of writing to you too!!! I did so much better when we were writing more often! I miss my "pen" pal!!! I'm working tonight, but expect some email tomorrow!!! :)
OK... I'm tempting fate enough being on here this long... so I'm gonna end this before my computer eats it!!
