What are the ingredients and in what quantities? That would help a lot in trying to figure calories.

I jsut made home made chili last night too! I made a big crock pot full and divided it up into 5 servings (I used cereal bowls). each serving was about 305 calories. I had a can of chili beans, a can of black beans, a bag of frozen corn, a can of tomato sauce, half a can of chicken broth, one packet of taco seasoning, one can of diced tomatoes with green chiles. and two chicken breasts shredded up . so if that was similar to the ingredients you had that might help.. I topped off with fat free cheddar cheese, fat free sour cream adn chives.. but those are not included into the calorie count

I just discovered that www.sparkrecipes.com has a recipe calculator - go put all your ingredients in there and it will tell you!

I made some chilli a few weeks ago. I actually found it an easier recipe to figure out calories per cup. Because I knew the size of each can I added. I figured mine can out to about 160 calories per cup.

What I do with dishes like that is I add up all the calories that went into the entire pot/pan/skillet/what have you and divide that by how much you are actually serving. So, for an example (I'm pulling numbers out of my bum)

ground turkey (total package) 200 calories
seasinging (entire package) 40 calories
peppers/onions 30 calories
salsa 110 calories

total= 380 / the fourth of the pot you ate = 95 calories.

This method might not work for everyone, or in ever situation, but I do it for casseroles and chili and whatnot.
