General chatter - REAL Pictures of Actors/Models/Famous People

Most of the visuals of celebrities we see from magazines to film have been altered. Before the media is even altered a lot of work has gone into making celebs/models look better than they really do. Then many of us see these images and try to live up to an impossible ideal. Every once in a while I get a reality check when I see an unaltered picture of a celebrity.

I ran across this picture today of an untouched up photo of Kim Kardashian. She is beautiful either way, but it was a reality check on how much most photos are altered before we see them. Note the cellulite and clothing that has been "smoothed" to make her look thinner.

Does anyone else have photographs that show celebrities as they really are?

And all of a sudden I feel much better about myself lol! :D thanks for posting those! I do know a bit about photoshop and airbrushing photos - I have edited quite a few photos of myself as I don't think I'm that photogenic and I have acne ick! But this just shows that celebs are just like the rest of us :p!

it's kind of disturbing that they lighten her too.

This is great. Thanks for sharing. It can get discouraging thumbing through magazines and thinking you will never look like that. It's nice to see that they don't either. ;P

One of my friends used to work at a modeling agency, and she was talking once about one of the models. This particular one was flipping through a fashion magazine, and then sighed at one particular picture. "I wish I looked like that" she said. Two moments later she burst out laughing. It was a picture of HER.

I don't put much stock in how celebrities and models look in magazines and movies. There's so much done to "change" them... it's ridiculous. ;) Half of them I actually prefer them WITHOUT the two tons of makeup and all the digital photo editing.

There are all kinds of videos on youtube showing celebs and others and how photoshop can change a pic, so even the "perfect" aren't perfect.

Some of the women look better sans makeup, others are almost unrecognizable!

it always really bothers me when they change the colour of someone's skin. That's who they are. Even more so than changing their size.

but it is nice to realise that even celebs are human :D

I found another website of a company that does retouching for magazines. This page was particularly telling on how much they change the figures of even very skinny models!

I haven't found a way to keep the before pictures up. You have to click on the thumbnails on the left hand side to see before change to after.

If you go to the CORRECTIONS page, you can go back to the Before by sliding the little white box next to the After back towards the right :) (Took me a while to figure it out, ha!)
