The start of a new weekend........and a new thread... don't forget to go back and read the last few posts.
Buenas noches mi amigas (Good Evening my friends....yes, I do know some Spanish)
Ruth ~ a wonderful idea, to meet somewhere. We live so far apart but maybe, one day, we'll be able to hook up. And thanks for the congrats.

Es ~ I want to see Red Dragon too....and the Banger Sisters, and, and, and.....we haven't been to the movies in about 2 months.
Jen ~ I went to Catholic school too......those nuns were wacky with the rulers. Some people think it's just a bad rap they have but I'm tellin' ya, it's not.
Terri ~ chicle en la bassura?? Ok, I give up.....:)
Well, tomorrow morning is weigh in....wish me luck

She said "Gum in the basket". :?:
I have a story about my crazy Spanish teacher.
Back in 1975 we had a great running back on the Steelers named Franco Harris. Steelers Football is BIG in my neck of the woods. They were on their way to one of their 4 Super Bowls.
Our baseball coach (very macho and funny) was teaching our History class and our Spanish teacher (Mrs. Bowman) came running down the hall screaming "Franco is dead, Franco is dead, Franco is dead..." Our Coach put his hand on his heart and the boys were glassy eyed and the coach was starting to stutter and I thought he was going to pass out. He grabbed her shoulders and said "Franco Harris?" I swear he was crying.
She got this look on her face that I won't forget. She was disgusted. She said "No, Francisco Franco of Spain." He sat down and had to calm down and he sighed "Oh, Good." That didn't go over too well with her. When she left we went into hysterics.
Being in a Catholic School we shouldn't have laughed after finding out someone died but you had to be there. I'll never forget our coach. He loved the Steelers.
Ruth,
Bet you are glad they are over. Not bad grades.
My kids have their Fall break this week.
Es,
I saw Red Dragon. It was good. It wasn't as gross as the second one. It had its moments though.
Jen,
Have fun. I was Teresa in school. Brittany took that name too.
Have a great weekend everyone. I am taking Brittany to see Sweet Home Alabama tomorrow.

Hola:
Terri - that story about Franco is hysterical!!! How could you not laugh? Can anyone guess what my name is in spanish??? DUH - Dianna - not such a big stretch is it. People, especially spanish people call me that - even one of my sisters does too, lol.
ZoeGirl - Good luck with wi - you've been doing so great girl!
Jen - I wonder how far you've driven so far. Enjoy!
Ruth - Please don't spend 4 days cleaning!!!!!!!!
Hi Janie - Hope you're okay.
Hi Sandy.
Es - I wish we all could meet - what would be the middle ground for all of us???? You and I are not far apart but everyone else is so far. I have friends on another chat that met in Ohio - about 30 of them met and spent the weekend together - they had a blast. There's so many of them that they plan different trips where some of them can meet in one place and some in another, depending on their locations. This month some of them are meeting in Boston. I could have gone to that one, but Alana's college is having parent weekend so that comes first.
Well, gonna go see Jessa and company today. Hope you all have a great one!
Hugs,
Dianne

Hello you's guys ~
Saturday mornign WI gave me another loss of 1.8 lbs for a total of 13.4 in 4 weeks. I really 'felt' like it was more than that but with TOM, I am thinking that this is really great.
Hope y'all are having a great Saturday afternoon. We have a surprise birthday party to be at by 6pm so I need to get ready. I am hoping to be able to have will power there.
Talk to you's guys tomorrow.

Hi Buddies:wave:
I'm feeling very lonely this evening. Pete had to work. He won't be home till around 1:AM & I'll be sleeping. I hardly see him anymore. This new shift stinks! He starts at 3:00 PM till 11:00 PM with overtime. When he gets OT he's doesn't get home till 2:30 AM. :(<sigh> Oh well, just got to get useto it. He calls me at least 3 times.
Dianne, that's cool that internet buddies get together. How's Alana doing? Have fun with Jessa. I'm going to Karinna's christening tomorrow. The twins birthday is Wed. so my SIL decided to combine the two!! Which means 3 gifts!
Terri, funny story about Franco:lol: I'll probably wait to see the Red Dragon on DVD.
Zoe, WOW! You are on a roll! I would be on :cloud9: I've been losing the same stinkin 4 lbs. Up & down, up & down. I think eating light ice cream every night is messing me up. That is definitely a red light food for me. I'm giving it up for a while.
Let me go browse around.
I'll try to get back here tomorrow night. If I'm too  after the christening I'll talk to you's Monday.
Have a great Sunday everybody.
Hugs,

Morning guys:
ZoeGirl - way to go with another great loss! Congrats!
Esperanza - what a great name - Hope - maybe I'll call you that from now on! Just kidding - I'm so used to Es now, it would be too strange, lol. Sorry about Pete's hours - how long is that for?
Alana's doing fine, she called yesterday to say her roommate's parents were up to visit and said "mommy, come here right now"
 My girl, she's still my baby girl:smug: We'll be visiting her in a couple of weeks, but last year she had already come home 3 times by now, lol.
My visit with Jessa was soooooooo much fun - she's such a cutie pie. Yesterday, willie was watching her with me, saying "nose, eyes, head", etc. and he said "wow, she really loves you". She's always in my arms - and its so funny, if I get up to go somewhere else, she's right behind me. It gives Lisa a break anyway, lol.
Well, today is "do everything I didn't do yesterday" day - like cleaning and laundry - BIG YUK! So I better get off this 'puter and get my butt in gear.
Hi Jen, Terri, Janie (hope you're doing okay) Ruth and Sandy - have a great Sunday everyone.
Hugs,

HI everyone,
Thank you all for your well wishes. I'm doing fine although I won't get the pathology report til tomorrow or Wed. I spent the weekend quilting, my favorite hobby next to singing. I am making a quilt for my mother's 80th birthday in January. I wish we could upload pictures so I could let you guys see some of my quilts.
On Thur I tried out 2 counselors. One is throuhg work and free but I didn't like her the other is private and very expensive but I really liked her. What to do? I think I am going to spend the money. I may be able to get my insurance to pick up some of the tab.
Zoe,
COngratulations!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Adios,

Hello my Buds
Just stopping in for a minute. We're watching TV tonight, not doing much of anything. Dinner was a WW recipe for some yummy quesadilla's. We had a surprise birthday party to go go on Saturday night and wasn't TOO bad......passed on the cake too. Yesterday was okay too....went to church at 8:30 and it didn't let out unitl about 11:30. I went straight to the grocery store and didn't get home until 5 minutes to 1.....with no food. So we went out to the mall and had Mexican food. But I was good. Had chicken fajitas, counted my chips and no queso. (oh pooh, but I LOVE queso) So I feel pretty good. I've had some severe munchies the last few days but I'm holding my own.
Janie ~ I'll bet your quilts are beautiful! I want to quilt so bad but have no idea how to get started. I even bought everything I could ever need to do it, just never have.
Esperanza ~ I really LOVE that name!! With all these Spanish names, I feel left out. :(
Dianne ~ did you get laundry done? I never did get to mine this weekend and I really HATE doing it after work. I'm always too tired.
Hi to everyone else....hope y'all are doing ok. Have a great evening and a blessed Tuesday.

Buenas Noches,
I hope everybody's week is getting off to a good start. I haven't made up my mind yet to whether this is a good week or not!! LOL
ZOE, send me some of your will power!! PLEASE!! I just can't seem to get things rolling like they should. Guess you could say things just aren't clicking. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. You are doing so great!! I know you are feeling great with the loss. We are all rooting for you!!
ES, I love the meaning of your name. For some reason, HOPE seems very fitting!! Sorry about the work hours. When Maurice was working for Fed Ex, his hours were horrible. It was only for about 5 months, but I'm so glad he is with me at nights again.
JANIE, the quilts sound beautiful. I've been wanting to "buy" a few quilts, I just haven't done so yet. I noticed Zoe said she wanted to learn to quilt, I just want to buy them. When I see homemade quilts, it reminds me of my childhood. During the winters when I was a little girl I slept under 3 or 4 quilts. They seemed so heavy and kept me so warm!!
DIANNE, between getting a husband off to work, my grandson off to school and all the studying that I have to do, I do very little around the house. It really needs a gooood cleaning. So, I will probably spend at least two of those days cleaning and washing clothes.
Well, need to head to bed. Hasta manana.
Ruth
P.S. Is Refugia (not sure if I spelled it correctly) the Spanish version of Ruth. Also, my first name is Helen, would it be Helena?

Hi everyone,
I have been OP 3 days in a row so far. Zoe/Patti has inspired me! Tonight is Girl's night out (GNO) so I hope I can be a good girl:angel: Last semester GNO was Thur which is the day after my WI. That worked out much better. THis semester it being Tue, the day before my WI has been a bit of a struggle. I am hoping that I can convince Ellen to go somewhere where I have more self control. I can't control myself if we go to Strizzi's, especially with all the local wines on the menu.
Es,
Esperanza is lovely. It sounds so exotic!
Ruth,
Please give yourself some time off. We all need it once in a while.
Have a wonderful Tues everyone,

Hi:wave:
How are my Buds? I'm feeling very sad today. The attorney I work for found her brother dead in his apt. today. His landlady called her & said that he hadn't paid his rent & that she hadn't seen him in a few days. He was in his mid forties. He had alot of problems. Depression, drugs, among other things. I feel so bad for her. She was sobbing on the phone when she called to tell me. I just wanted to put my arms around her.
Karinna's christening went well. The weather was so beautiful. She looked like a little doll.
Janie, thanks for the compliment.;) When I was a kid I hated my name. I wanted a common name like Maria or Christina. I like it now. Hope you had a nice time with Ellen. WTG with staying OP 3 days in a row. I've been doing okay but still can't get to my journaling. I keep forgeting! I wish I could see your quilts. They really sound beautiful.
Ruth, your first name is Helen? I thought it was Ruth. About the click, I never heard it either. We just have to keep trying.
Zoe, I always watch the Lakewood Church on TV. Do you know who I'm talking about? His father passed away then he took over. I can't remember his name but he is so good. I love his preaching.
Mi amiga, you could call me Esperanza if you want. :) It's just so long. Before I got married my maiden name was Rodriguez. They were both long! Now it's Rios. :D At least I kept my initials. Jessa sounds like she's getting cuter & cuter.
Well, let me say buenas noches:wave: Going to watch a little TV then to bed.

Afternoon ladies,
ES, my full name is Helen Ruth Craig. There was already a Helen in the family so I was called Ruth by most of my relatives and Ruthie by my dad's family. We have shared last names, my first husband was a Rivers, the anglicized version of del Rio. My grandmother was also a Rivers (del Rio). As I said, I have quite a bit of hispanic blood in me.
So, what would Helen Ruth be in Spanish?
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. That must have been very hard for her. I will keep her in my prayers!
JANIE, you are so sweet. I'll try not to work too hard on my break. Maybe I should get smart and start some of the cleaning tonight!! LOL How did you do with GNO??
Well, I better get some of this reading done, talk to you girls tomorrow.

Hi guys:
Es - I'm sorry to hear about your boss's brother - that's so sad. I'm sure she will appreciate whatever comfort you can give her. When I said I was going start calling you by that name, I meant Hope, But I don't think I can think of you as anything but Es or Essie.
Janie - congrats on keeping on program. Wish I could say the same. My "click" has appeared to have clicked off!:s:
Ruth - I hope that Refugia is NOT your name in spanish, lord have mercy! I've actually never heard the name Ruth in Spanish. Helen would be Helena, but you wouldn't pronouce the H - so it would be pronounced as Elena. Like Hector would be pronounced as Ector.
ZoeGirl - Yes I did do my laundry, but I didn't have fun doing it, lol.
Hey Jen - are you back yet? Or did you say Thursday? Hope you're having a great time!
Hi Sandy and Terri - how are you guys doing?
Well, gotta get back to work. Have a great Wednesday ("hump" day) everyone!

HI everyone,
I did pretty well last night. Ellen decided she wanted In & Out Burger. I don't think you have that in the East. In my opinion it is the best fast food around. Everything is fresh. Nothing is froZen. They even slice up fresh potatoes for the french fries. They make their shakes out of real ice cream. I didn't have a shake though, I had H2O, and I shared Ellen's Fries. All in all I was only .5 pts over yesterday. NOt too bad. I forgot to WI this morning. Maybe I should just move my WI day to THU. That could help the GNO problem.
After dinner we went shopping and we got some real bargains. She got 2 shirts, 2 prs of halloween socks, and a pair of shorts and I got 3 tops and a skirt and it was all under $50 with the tax. DOn't you just love retail therapy:lol: There was also a denim blazer that I really liked but they didn't have my size.
Es,
I am so sorry about your bosses brother. That is horrible. Do they know if it was suicide or accidental? I have known a couple of people who have committed suicide and it is heart wrenching.
Here is a big :grouphug:

Hi Girls:wave:
The attorney is not my boss but I've known her for 12 yrs. so we are kind of close. My boss works in another office. I have 3 bosses:rolleyes: She called me today from Florida. She had to go pick up her mother to bring her here. She's doing a little better. I have to keep praying for her & her family. We don't know much yet. I found out he was so decomposed that it was hard to ID him. :( I'll know more in a couple of days. He's going to be cremated(sp?).
Dianne, no matter what mood I'm in you always crack me up. What you said about Rufugia! You are too funny. Then about "the click"
Ruth, I understand now. So you're really Helen. Helena sounds pretty. I'm Esperanza Rios. If I could knock off the "s" I'll be River:lol: Very few people call me that. All our hispanic clients at work call me Esperanza. It's easier than Essie for them. Go figure:shrug:
Janie, that In & Out Burger place sounds sooo delicious. :T: I wish we had it here. Ellen will always treasure your girls night out. Thanks for the :grouphug: I needed it.
Zoe, I like reading your journal.:)

Es,
Sorry to hear of your friend's loss. That is so rough. So Young.
Hope Pete's schedule gets better.
JanieD,
Glad you had a great GDO. Britts and I are going out tomorrow.
Great bargains. Congrats!
Bruce has to leave for Fl. Friday morning and then straight to Houston from there until Wed. So we will be away from each other almost a week. :(
Someone at work made my husband an offer. They gave him the option to go to Iraq and be a weapons inspector. I freaked out. He asked a military person at Colorado Springs what she thought and she said "Look. Your wife did not marry a military man. She didn't have to prepare herself that this could happen one day. She didn't marry into that. It isn't fare to put her or your kids through that." He knew that but he wanted to hear it from someone that was objective. He admitted he was intrigued with the idea but he thinks he would have been apprehensive at the onset.
Well, I am going to bed.

Terri,
That is so interesting about Bruce, asked to be a weapons inspector. I know several of them from the lab here. They are usually not there for too long, several weeks at a time. They cycle them in and out. They also get additional hazardous duty pay. I do have to admit most of the ones I know who have gone don't still have kids at home. I only know one who took off and left his wife alone with the kids. All of the others their kids were grown. They also don't ask women to go to the middle east even if they have the expertise, because there are so many restrictions on what women are allowed to do there. It is really exciting to be able to have an impact on the global security. I am hoping that my job will be heading more in that direction.
Es,
I wish I could send you an In & Out burger. They are IMHO what fast food is supposed to taste like.
IF you guys ever get out to the west coast, you need to try it. I think they are only in CA, AZ and NV.
Zoe,
You have inspired me to get back on the wagon. I lost .5 lbs this week. Not a stellar preformance but it is a start. This weekend will be tough because we are going camping at the coast. The guys want to go abalone diving. Abalone is fine but the butter sauce really gets you. Maybe I can make some of my own with I can't believe its not butter.
HI to Sandy, Jen, Ruth, Diane etc,

JanieD,
The extra pay still wouldn't be enough for me to want him to go. I get nervous when he is in Washington D.C. I'd be a nut case if he went to Iraq.
Also congrats on the loss. That is fantastic especially with your gils night out. :D
Jen,
Glad you had a great time in the Ozarks. Sounds wonderful.
I saw Red Dragon with Brittany. I saw it last week but after I saw it we rented a movie called Manhunter. It was the Red Dragon with a different name and a different Hannible. It was made 4 yrs. prior to Silence of the Lambs. Will Graham (The head FBI Detective) was played by William Peterson (Grissom on CSI)
and Hannible was Billy Cox (Nowhere as good as Hopkins). It also had a different ending. It was interesting to see the first ever Hannible movie. But I wanted Brittany to see a better version and she wholeheartily agreed. It is a buyer.
Bruce leaves tomorrow. :( The kids go back to school next week. They had Fall Break this week. It has been fun. We went to Nashville yesterday and went to Pro Bass Shop in Outdoor World. It was amazing. We were freaking by all the stuffed animals and I mean stuffed. but other than that it was amazing. Then we ate at Joes Crab Shack. Brought back memories of Colorado Springs. That is the first place we ever saw
one or ate at one. Love that place. The waiters and waitresses dance and embarrass birthday people. It is so cool.
Have a great Friday.

Morning Ladies,
Well, the weekend is almost here. I'm hoping I can get some things done around the house. I did absolutely nothing yesterday. Maurice took yesterday off because it was his birthday. We just sat around watching television and enjoyed being together. He works six days a week every other week, so we don't get alot of time together anymore.
Today I'm going downtown to the courthouse to view court procedings for extra credit in my business law class. We were going to do it yesterday, but it was raining, so we put it off.
TERRI, sounds like you guys have had a nice spring break. We are getting an Bass Pro Shop and a Joe's Crab Shack here in Bossier. I've never been to either, so it will be nice to have them here. We are a gambling community that is trying to build on the tourist business. Our boats are downtown on the Red River and both Shreveport & Bossier (sister cities) are trying to open entertainment district on one side and a family oriented venue on the other side. I live in Bossier, we will have a large Regal cinema, several Branson style theaters, restuarants, etc. On the Shreveport side of the River, they have gotten several restuarants, and they are getting several clubs. One is a disco, yes, I said "DISCO" called Poly-Esters. Isn't that hilarious.
JEN, where the leaves changing colors already. I've been wanting to go up into Arkansas, but my husband just doesn't have the time off.
DIANNE, well, according to my Spanish teacher, RUTH is RUTH in Spanish. Refugia means refugee, but I have seen it in the family tree, it was the closes looking name that I could see as being Ruth. LOL
Well, I need to run, I'll check in again later.

Welcome back. I am so glad you had such a nice time with your sister. How was the wine tasting? I love that too and I am so spoiled because we have 30 wineries within 30 minutes of my house, but Steve doesn't drink wine so I have to drag anyone who comes to visit.
Well I should find out the results of my biopsy today. I will be leaving for the coast right after so I'll have to tell you folks SUnday night or Monday. I am pretty optomistic. The dr was pretty sure there was nothing there when he looked at it.
Terri,
Thanks for the congrats. I still have those last few lbs to get to my goal. I have been hovering up and down since january. I know it's my own fault.

Happy Friday Evening!!
Well, tomorrow is Saturday, weigh day. I'm nervous but I have been so OP, I promise I have. Tomorrow is going to be a long day too.....I have a nail appt at 7am....yes, you heard that right, 7am!! Then WW meeting at 8am. I won't stay for the meeting unless I can see I'll have time. I am hoping to reach 15 lbs lost so I get a star....don't wanna miss out on that, right??? :D Then we have our company golf tournament. We have 2 a year, spring and fall, and that's the ONLY time I play. Anyway, we have to be there around 9am or before so I may have to RUN from the WW meeting but I'll let you's all know how it went later on in the day.
Jen ~ Welcome back girl!! So happy you have a great time with your sis. We're glad to have ya back.
Sorry I can't stay to post and address everyone. I have laundry going and the dryer is buzzing. It's going to be a busy weekend. Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. Talk to you's guys tomorrow.

Terri,
I would be a basket case if my husband were asked to be a weapons inspector....God bless those who go. What an interesting line of work Bruce is in, to be considered for such an opportunity. We've got a Bass Pro shop at the outlet mall; when we go, we coordinate our watches, Joe spends his time in the fishing store, and I shop at all the others, then we meet.
Es,
Yes, Kathie and I both cried when we said our good-byes. She is very happy there, but we were both emotional. Enjoy your long weekend!
Zoe,
Good luck golfing! Hope your weekend is great...let us know about weigh in.
Ruth,
:hb: to Maurice! Hope it was good. We were about 2 weeks early for the fall colors in Arkansas; didn't want to go later in the month, however, as it's Joey's birthday, then Halloween.
Glad your name is Ruth in Spanish, Refugia sounds too depressing!
Janie,
There were 5 wineries that we visited...am embarrassed to say we returned home with lots of wine! Very pretty countryside, most were small vineyards, one larger commercial one. I'd love to visit Napa Valley. My fingers are crossed for the results of your biopsy; glad your dr. is positive.
We've got the boys here till tomorrow afternoon; Jess had an endoscopy and a colonoscopy today. Precautionary, as she's had some problems. Good results, nothing to worry about. Took the boys to a pumpkin farm today, everyone's pooped.
later,

Hi guys:
Jen - welcome back, so glad you had a good time with your sister. Now, don't drink all that wine at once - oh wait -you could have a party and invite us, we'll help ya out!
I feel like I need a drink right now. Willie is in the hospital. He had a problem with his boss yesterday and got so excited that he had chest pains. One of his co-workers called an ambulance and they took him to the hospital. The dr. said his blood pressure was very high and they gave him nitroglycerol (sp??) pills. When I got home from work there was a message on the machine telling me he was in the hospital, but not to worry, he was okay. Well, no one mentioned WHICH hospital he was in, so I had to start calling around and could not find him. Finally he called to tell me in was in the ER at a hospital I had never even heard of before.
Anyway, he said he was okay and it was just a precaution to keep him overnight for observation. He didn't even want me to come to the hospital cause it was pouring rain here and he was worried about me getting lost, probably, since I'm the WORST person in the world for directions and I had no idea where the heck this hospital was. He has a boss that everyone hates, he's just always on top of them, he's like 25 years old and doesn't even know the job they do, but he's the boss cause he went to college. Everyone has been complaining about him. I hope they do something about it now. Well, thank God he'll be home today and will take some time off.
Ruth I'm soooooooooo glad to hear you're not a refugee:lol: Ruth sounds so much prettier that Refugia! I'd stick with that if I were you:devil:
Es - I'm glad I crack you up - I do seem to have that effect on people:lol: Sometimes its not such a good thing - some people don't have a sense of humor and can take me literally. Oh, well, ya gotta laugh in this life, or go nuts.
Terri - I'm glad Bruce isn't going to take that assignment. You and the kids would be worried constantly.
Janie - I'm sure you'll have good news on your results. I'm thinking of ya.
ZoeGirl - Good luck with WI -- and you better have some really good looking nails to go out there at 7:00 a.m. -YIKES.
Hi Sandy - how are ya?
Well, let me go get ready to pick up willie. I hope he doesn't get excited again when he tells me what happened. I don't have any nitroglycerin pills on me:s:
Hope you all have a great weekend. Talk to you's soon.

Dianne, is Willie okay? What a scare that must have been for him & you. So sorry. :( These bosses, especially the young ones, need to chill. The office manager at my job has calmed down quite a bit. Lots of people complained about her. They even brought it up to the Union & I guess she panicked. Maybe this is what Willie's boss needs. My brother-in-law takes those pills but he has a heart condition. Does Willie? He needs some R & R before he goes back to work. You're just like me when it comes to directions. :dizzy: I hate driving as it is & if I don't know where I'm going I become a wreck! On the weekends Pete does all the driving. You're in my thoughts amiga.
We went to see the Red Dragon. It was soooooo good.
Jen, the boys must have loved the pumpkin farm. That was nice of you to take them. I know how much you love spending time with them.:)
Zoe, hope your weigh-in went well.
I haven't been on the computer at all today so I'm going to try & get as much motivation as I can from the weightloss sites. Not that I can't get here. I'm going to browse here also.
Have a nice evening.
Dianne, this is for you:grouphug:
Luv ya;)

Hello Bud's ~
Dianne ~ You poor thing, you must have been petrified. I'm glad that Willie is okay and pray that he is as good as new.
Just a quick note here ~ I'm so upset today....I missed my WW meeting for the first time since I started 5 weeks ago. I had a nail appt at 7am so that I could go to the 8am WW meeting because we had our company golf tournament at 9am.....well, the girl was late for my appt and I couldn't be late for the tee times. I am so bummed!! I did jump on my scale at home and it looks like it's about 2 lbs down but I won't make that official until I weigh next Saturday. UGH!!! I really didn't want to miss.....I can't tell you how annoyed I am, especially since the whole reason I went to get my nails done at 7:00am was so I could go to WW. <sigh> Ok, so I've complained enough.........
Have a great Saturday evening. Talk to you's guys tomorrow after church.

Dianne,
I am so sorry about Willy. I hope he is taking it easy.
I'll bet you were so scared. My prayers are with all of you!
Zoe,
Sorry about you missing your meeting. You had a busy morning.
Es,
Red Dragon was good wasn't it? I loved it. Wait til' you see manhunter. It is weird to see a different Hannible.
Jen,
Glad Jess had a good outcome. That had to be scary.
I took the kids to the Mall and we ate the lowfat sub from Subway at the food court. I took my own cheese from home.
We had a nice little day. We came home and watched the rest of the Soap Marathon.
I hate for them to go back to school. I will start doing rooms Monday. No housework this weekend.

Terri, now Manhunter is the 1st, Red Dragon the 2nd, Silence of the Lambs the 3rd & Hannibal the 4th? The only thing was, the movie was great, but I had a woman in back of me that was chewing like a horse!!! She made so much noise eating popcorn that I had to change my seat & I STILL HEARD HER!!! Geeeezzzzz SO ANNOYING! That's why I like to go on Fridays matinee cause it's usually empty. Pete's no longer off on Fridays so I have to settle for Saturdays.
How was the lowfat sub? You are too funny:lol:bringing your own cheese.
Zoe, I know how that feels. Once I was so psyched to go to a meeting & there was only one meeting that day cause of a holiday. Usually they have 2 in the morning. You've been doing great so your scale is probably right. Were you in our Halloween challenge?
Why oh why can't I give up the chinese food<sigh>. The other day I was 174 & this morning I'm 179.5:eek: We had chinese yesterday after the movies. I would hate to have to give it up. I know it's water. I HOPE!!!
Well, I'm not sure what I'm doing today. The weather is so dreary. I have to go food shopping then I'll decide.
Till later:wave:

Dianne,
How's Willie doing now that he's home and relaxing? That is so scary, how awful to have a jerk boss be the cause. Take good care of your hubby  He's in my prayers.
Es,
My kids love the Hannibal movies....I purchased the very first book, Silence of the Lambs, way back when it came out...read the first chapter and threw it away! I've never done that with a book before; it just rubbed me the wrong way. Glad you're enjoying all the sequels (and prequels?)
Don't fret the Chinese gain..you know it's temporary. Halloween challenge? Oh yeah :o I forgot about that.
Zoe,
Well, no meeting, but great nails! I'll bet you'll post a loss next week. Fingers crossed!
Terri,
I love the Subway low fat sandwiches; they make it truly easy to "be good". Bears stunk on Monday Night Football; we watched it at my sister's, only till the 3rd quarter...too depressing!
The full-time faculty did go on strike at my school; we've missed one week of classes already. I've been hanging in there, haven't withdrawn yet, and am now unsure of how this will play out.
I've got tons of stuff to do.....changing the closets from summer to winter clothes today. Had to turn the heat on this morning!

Hi guys:
Willie's doing fine, thanks for all your thoughts, prayers and well wishes. He apparently had an angina attack, which I guess can be almost as painful as a heart attack. He has to take it easy on the stress right now. Would you believe his boss called the house to see how he was doing????!!!!!! I told him, you are the last person in the world my husband wants to talk to right now and hung up on him. Que cojones!!!!!!!! (sorry, but I really got pissed off). Anyway, he'll be out for a least the week and has to follow up with his own cardiologist. But he's doing okay.
Es - Isn't going to the movies so annoying all of a sudden. I mean you never know who's going to be sitting behind you doing something stupid. The last time we went to the movies there was a woman actually talking on her cell phone! Everyone told her to shut it off - or leave. How rude - I mean why bother going to the movies if you really just want to talk on the phone. Anyway, I'm dying(well not dying) to see "red dragon" and "my big fat greek wedding". I also want to see the movie with Dustin Hoffman and Susan Sarandon - the true story of the young actress, Rebecca Shaefer, who gets killed by a fan. I love both of those actors.
Jen - Its a bit chilly here too - had to turn up the heat. I guess we're finally in the fall. How are Brandon and Matthew doing?
And how does Joey like his new apartment? Are you still doing his laundry?
Terri - How many points are those subway sandwiches? Did you try the chicken terriyaki one - it looks so good on tv.
ZoeGirl - Sorry you missed your meeting, but your probably did lose those couple of pounds. You've been so on program. Don't know when I'll get back on program - I've been stuffing my face like there's no tomorrow. I don't have the cruise as an excuse anymore. Guess I'm in the "sabatage" frame of mind right now. Well, I'll get back soon, hopefully. Maybe I'll catch some of your motivation.
Hey ruth and Janie - how are you guys doing?
Today is laundry again - sheesh I love it so! NOT!!! You'd think it would be so much easier without Alana being here, but its still a pain. Justin is home and I think he uses each towel one time.
Hope you all have a great sunday and I'll talk to you's soon.
Hugs,
Dianne

Es,
Manhunter was a movie based on the book RED DRAGON.
Then the movie, Silence..., was made in 1990 with Hopkins and was such a success (Best Picture, best actor and best actress) that they decided to make a sequal 10 years later with the book Hannible and then they decided to make a remake of Manhunter now called Red Dragon, after the book, using the best Hannible the Cannible ever, Anthony Hopkins. Can you tell I love these characters.
I am sure the weight was from the Chinese Food. It does hold the water. It will be gone fast. Drink lots of water.
I gained 2 in the last few weeks. It is from not exercising due to my back and the kids being off. We went out a lot and ate. Getting serious NOW!!!!
Dianne,
I am so happy that Willy is doing better. I don't blame you for being mad.
Go see Sweet Home Alabama too. So cute. Moonlight Mile is the Dustin Hoffman movie. I am seeing that next.
I had three bad experiences the last 3 times I went to the movie. When we went to see Signs teens came in and sat up front and were so rude. They were yelling across the aisles at each other. Bruce went out twice to complain. The manager finally came in and threatened them that they would be kicked out and finally they settled down. I went home and kissed Brittany.
The second time there was so much commotion in the hallway outside the theater that I missed the words in the first scene of Red Dragon and I had to go up and shut the door.
This last time Britts and I were the only 2 people there at this time and 2 people came in and they HAD TO SIT right behind us and over a bit. An empty theater and they had to sit by us.
When Red Dragon started this time the guy started tapping his foot (must be a nervous geture) and I kept turning around and then she had her foot on the seat in front of her and started shaking her foot and vibrating the seats we were in. I loudly said, "Let's move Brittany, these people are rude." We went to
2 rows in front of us and I bravely said, when the movie was over, "Wait til' they leave and then we will get up."
I am seriously thinking of waiting for DVD's to come out and watch on our 53 in. TV with surround sound. It is way better than a theater anyway but I can't wait that long.
The subs are 7 points depending what you put on them.
I put lettuce, tomatoes and the teriaki sauce they have.
Here's the website. They have a lot of subs under 6 grams of fat.
http://www.subway.com/
I hate the towel situation here too. Where do they all go?
Like the "other sock" and the hangers.
Jen,
Bruce loved all the books. My mom is on the Red Dragon now and I get it when she is done. Brittany read all the books except for Red Dragon. I am doing the closets in another month. It is in the 70's now and will stay that way til probably Nov. It is very comfortable now.

I want to know something. Where do the weekend go??? I mean, it's Sunday night already and I feel like it was JUST Friday!! I just don't get it. :?: :?:
Terri ~ Brought your own cheese?? Wow, that sure is staying OP! I usually just have my Subway without cheese but your way is better. :) And don't you just hate rude people?? We usually sit right in front of someone who is either CRUNCHING loudly or talking through the entire movie. Oh, and you lose hangers too?? I thought I was the only one.....they must elope with the socks.
Es ~ I went food shopping today too. There we were (Greg comes with me), Greg reading the label to me while I figure out the points. It's one of our "do it together" things.
Jen ~ Can you come do my closets when you're done? Ha!! I am dreading it but yesterday was 85 degrees. This coming week is supposed to be cooler but no heat on yet.
Dianne ~ Thank God that Willie is okay. What a scare for you both. Oh, and our cruise is booked and paid for so I really have to be good now. We go 2/9 - 2/16. I think I can be at my goal by then or darn close to it. :D Sending you some motivation girlfriend.......right at ya. :flow1: :flow2: :flow1:
Starting tomorrow, I am going to eat on the low side of my points for the entire week. Not that I've been bad but I've eaten WAY up to the high number, possibly over by a few on Saturday. (but I think golf was exercise, right??)
Well, gotta run. I want to watch the Jackie Gleason movie that's on tonight. I just love the Honeymooners!!! This means I'll be taping shows while I watch. Have a wonderful Monday my friends.

Hi Buddies,
I am trying to get back in the swing of things. I would love it so much to hang out with you here more often.
The big news is that last week we moved my mother back into her own house. I never thought she would walk again after her car accident, let alone that she could ever be this independent again. She has the equivalent of the "First alert" system, and she wears a bracelet with a button to call for help if she is alone and in trouble. The local council on aging provides a weekly trip to the market and also transportation to medical appointments. I am still bound to visit her lots, of course, and so will my brother. What a change! We have had four years of lots of agony and disappointments. I have to admit that I had a hard time keeping the faith that she could achieve what she wanted. For now, I am just so thankful for the present!
Dianne,
I hope Willie is doing well. That had to be quite a scare for both of you. I am getting concerned about Mike, my husband's, stress level too. We need to teach our guys how to take care of themselves.
We finally saw "My big fat Greek Wedding". What a delightful movie! I could see it again, no problem.
I am hoping to start WW meetings again, I can go to an early one on Friday mornings before I go to work. I'll try to keep you all posted. You are in my thoughts. I hope all is well.

What fun news. Hangers eloping with the sock.
If your motivation and enthusiasm stays you will be there with no problem. You will have so much fun.
I didn't get a chance to see the Jacki Gleason movie. How was Brad Garrett? I love him on Raymond. The previews looked amazing. He is actually almost a foot taller than Jackie Gleason and they had to raise everyone else up.
Hi Sandy.
Welcome back. Missed you. BFGW was a cute movie. I can't wait until it comes on DVD. It has been in the theaters since May or June. It just sat there and waited and then exploded.
Good luck with WW. I know you will do well.

That's one of the reasons I don't go to the movies anymore, there is no way I'm going to put up with all that. Plus, I get "antsy" and sometimes can't sit thru a whole movie without a break, so it's much more convenient to watch them at home; snuggled up, shoes off...etc.
Last time I went to the show was last December with Jess to see Mel in What Women Want...had to see him on the big screen
Dianne,
You go!!! Way to go on saying that to Willie's boss. Like a mother bear defending her cubs...sometimes we have to be that way.
Yep, I'm still doing Joey's laundry  but I really don't mind. He owes me some hangers, tho! Seems like they leave and never return.
Sandy,
That news about your Mom is just great; she has come a long way. Keep up your positive attitude :)
Zoe,
Congrats on the great golfing! You could be famous, give Tiger a run for his money. Your cruise is approaching quickly, how nice to be on it for Valentine's Day.
Terri,
I thought the Gleason movie was good; Brad Garrett did an excellent job of portraying him. I remember all of us watching his show every week. I loved the June Taylor dancers! How is your back? Did you go to a chiropractor?
Es,
I downloaded the new 8.0 version on Friday. The new mail features are great, can weed out the junk.
Lots to do today, I'll stop by later.
Have a fantastic Monday!!!

Hi ladies,
Did you girls have a good weekend? I did get the majority of my house cleaned. It looks so much better than it has looked for the last few months. I didn't do any studying so, I guess I didn't over exert myself.;)
JANIE, that is great news!! You definitely needed to unwind for a few days!!! I had a lipoma recently, in the middle of my forehead. I decided to have the dermatologist remove it, well, she must have not only taken the fat, but she must have taken out some of the flesh too, now I have a small intention in my forehead. I think that will be the last thing I do for vanity's sake!!!
We didn't get to watch the Jackie Gleason show. We live in a military town, so Maurice had quite a few friends that moved away when he was a teenager. He has spent the last 18 years wondering about a friend of his named Stan. Well last night, right before the movie came on, we recieved a phone call from my brother-in-law that the father of Maurice's friend Stan was in town looking for Maurice. So, we ended up going to visit them at their motel room. He got the address and phone number for Stan and spent over an hour on the phone with him last night. I was really thrilled for him! Hey, now he wants to vacation in California!!! I can go for that, of course, it will probably be a few years before we can get out there.
SANDY, what wonderful news about your mom. I know the past few years have been rough, but your faith paid off. I completely understand the times when your faith was tested, we have all been there, sometimes, more than we would like to be.
Do most of you have AOL? I have compuserve, which is owned by AOL, could I put you ladies on my buddie list?

Janie,
Congrats on the news. I have one of those on my back. I will have it removed some day. I'll bet you are sooo relieved.
Thanks Jen,
My back is getting better. I actually did treadmill today.
I loved the Honeymooners and Jackie's variety show in Miami. I loved when the camera went toward the shoreline. Can you imagine living like Alice?
Bruce is in Houston and he had a dinner tonight with O'Keefe (Administrator to all of NASA from Washington, John Young (Moon astronaut and Shuttle Astronaut) and this afternoon he was at Space Congress thingy and he met Valerie Harper. He called like a little kid and whispered in his phone "Guess who I just shook hands with?" It was so cute.

Another Monday under my belt. I've had din-din and everything is cleaned up.....it's Monday night and I like to watch 7th Heaven. It comes on in about 10 minutes. I also have a few magazines that I haven't read.....I'm so behind on my reading. So my evening is headed for relaxation mode and I for one am glad about that.
Sandy ~ Great to hear from you. Just come chat when you can. Great news about your Mom. She's doing so great now. Hope you start WW again. It's been so much of a help to me.
Terri ~ I love Brad Garrett too! He was GREAT and the show was really good. I didn't realize that Jackie Gleason had 2 children.
Janie ~ Praising God here for your wonderful news, that it's lipoma and not dangerous. Don't worry about your eating too much. I would have done the same thing after such news of relief.

Janie, I was so frustrated after I lost them cause they were both long. One said "error website not responding" then the second one had too many smilies & I lost it somehow. It's not the first time this has happened. Anyway, how are you? I'm sooooo happy for you. I told you you were going to be alright.;) Prayers always work. I was getting optimum online but it costs too much & for the time I spend online it wasn't worth it.
Zoe, WTG with your trophies. I don't know anything about golf. :(
To get those trophies I know you're good.
Terri, sorry you weren't feeling well. I'll never forget when I had back pain!!!

Janie, I wanted to chime in and say What a relief!!! I am really happy that you are past all that uncertainty with a good diagnosis.
Terri, take good care of your back.
Es, I really look forward to seeing your posts. Don't get lost, please:)
I am still hopping around a lot with my volunteer projects, and my work. I had 4 volunteer meetings this week and 2 work meetings, plus tried to find time to just do some of the actual database work on the computer.
I went to Trader Joe's yesterday and stocked up on lots of interesting frozen veggies, frozen shrimp, and turkey meatballs.
:chef: I dearly love cooking, but time in the kitchen is hard to come by for now. I am trying to get back on the WW track, but that is one meeting that I won't be able to get to yet. I think that if I try to concentrate on the veggies and low fat choices, and up the exercise time, that I will start to make progress again. I have been exactly the same for 6 months!
Greg and I haven't been to the club to exercise more than once a week too! I am letting work come first, and he has a lead in the high school play. They are putting on the Odd Couple and he got the part of Felix Unger. I am so amazed and proud of him. But he is so busy too. They rehearse 4 times a week and as it gets closer it will be even more.
Hi Jen, Zoe, Ruth, I hope you are all well, thanks for your caring thoughts.
I am just glad and grateful to be here.

Sandy,
What a role for Greg to get! You have every reason to be proud :D Hey, staying the same for 6 months is a good thing; those who have reached goal say maintenance is more difficult than losing. I love Trader Joe's; they've built one close to us, and now that I'm only cooking for 2, I'm having fun trying new dishes with a wider variety of ingredients. The days of hot dogs and Kraft dinner are over now that the kids are grown
Keep in touch!
A friend (ex-coworker of Joe's) is very ill; she's been diagnosed with stage 3 multiple myeloma, which is bone cancer. Apparently she hadn't been feeling good for the last couple of months. It's so scary, she's 4 months younger than me. She's single, and it's sad that she has to go through this without someone by her side. Her parents are 85, siblings live in other states. She's been in a drug-induced coma for a week and a half; they're waking her this week to begin chemo and inform her that she's got a year. Please keep her in your prayers, her name is Debbie.
Terri,

Hi everyone,
Thank you all again for the support you all gave me during this scary and uncertain time. It is strange all the weird things that go through your head. What will I look like with no hair?, Will my husband still love me if I only have 1? How will I take care of Ellen? It is kind of funny to think back on it but it was really scary at the time. Hi Girls,
I'm so happy that it's Thursday(my weekend starts). I've been doing pretty good, food wise & exercise is always in my schedule. I love my Firm Body Sculpting tapes. They're tough!
Janie, I had such a strong feeling about you being fine. Sometimes with certain people I have to pray extra hard cause I sense something bad but not with you. I'm sorry you were so stressed over it but that's normal.
Jen , so sad about Joe's co-worker.:( I know a few cancer survivors. Let's pray she will be one of them.
Sandy, I should take advantage of Trader Joe's. There's one by my son's house. I've only been there twice. They have a WW center right next to it. Great store. I have to stock up on healthy food. The past few days I've been craving sweets. Well, I always want sweets but lately it's been more than usual. Pete bought these great Low Carb choc. bars.:T: They're 3 points & taste so good. They sell them at the Nutrition Warehouse. I could get hooked but then I'll have the runs! I useto love the Odd Couple. WTG Greg(high five)!
I'm not doing Halloween this year. I know, I know, I feel bad but I'm going to be home alone & people are acting too crazy these days. And...I WON'T HAVE CANDY IN THE HOUSE! With this sweet tooth I'll wind up eating it all.:ink:
Well, gotta go stuff my face. KIDDING:lol: Seriously, I'm starving so let me go eat my dinner & catch up on my soaps.
Hasta manana.

That is so cool that Greg got the Felix part. I love that movie/series. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!
Es,
I don't blame you about Halloween. My mom didn't do it since we all left the house. She was always afraid that she would get accused of tampering with candy. Crazy world out there.
JanieD,
I am so happy for you!!!!! I'll bet it was a huge relief. Understatement huh?
Jen,
I am so sorry about Debbie. It makes me cry thinking of her getting the news. Poor thing. She will be in my prayers.
As far as Survivor I was hoping that jackass Rob would go. He is such a baby. He told Jeff that they were beating the other team and Jeff shot him down. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is hard to believe that Jan is only 53. That island can sure age you. Clay cracks me up. He is such a redneck. Billy was on Days of Our Lives for awhile and then quit acting. I think he wants back in.
Zoe,
I didn't realize Gleason had kids either. Remember the movies with Burt Reynolds? Was it the Smoky and the Bandit movie Gleason was the sheriff?
I have about 10 Woman's World and 2 PEOPLE mags. to catch up on. I hate that.
Hi,
I just wanted to say that in the past 2-3 weeks I gained 2 pounds mainly because of a back problem and not working out and a bad attitude for a few days. LOL Well I decided to take it slow and do treadmill for a minimum of 20 mins. and I cut out snacks, especially high carb. ones. I had breakfast, lunch dinner and a couple snacks. I upped my veggies considerably too. Well I lost 4.5 pounds this week. It was so cool. Just wanted to share.
Brandon (for boy scouts) is going on a 2 night hiking backpack camping trip without dad. It is worry time this weekend. Bruce has to go on Bradley weeblo haunted weekend campout. He is too young to go without him. If I could tent camp by myself I would have taken Bradley. Brittany and I will hang out at home and watch movies and eat a little junk, within points of course with maybe a few banked points.
Have a great Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terri,
You did such a good job! I'm inspired by you again, knowing that it IS possible, using common sense and determination. I've been so far off for the last month, I'm getting panicky again. The snacks and sweets just do me in. Just reading your post has me feeling positive. Thank you and congrats :D
Enjoy your special time alone with Brits....knowing you've got points banked is a good feeling, right? Hope Brandon has a great time, Bruce and Bradley also.
Yep, I wanted Rob voted off also....what a jerk.
Es,
I don't blame you for skipping Halloween; having the candy here is a great temptation. I've tied the bag shut with a double knot.
Joey does a big production of decorating, sets up elaborate scenes in front of the house, and scares the kids. Everyone in the neighborhood loves it, the parents stop and talk, there's no way I can NOT answer the door with candy!
have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Weekend!
I had a very nice day today. I convinced Pete to take off. We did a little shopping. I went to BJ's and was so excited that I found the Leslie Sansone tapes with the blue balls. My sister, who is on a cruise, her birthday was the 16th & she gets home on Sunday. This is her birthday gift from me. I hope she uses them! She likes to walk but sometimes gets scared with stray dogs. This will be perfect for her. I can't wait. I get like a little kid when it comes to giving gifts.
Jen, I remember in the past you had mentioned Halloween decorations at your house. If I had small kids (grandchildren) I would have made up a couple of bags. Since Pete can't have candy & I definitely need to stay away from it I'll spend it in the room with Susie. She'll bark at first but then she'll calm down. Maybe I'll rent a spooky movie that night. Any suggestions?
Terri, you are so awesome!!! When you set your mind to lose weight you "just do it". This is what I'm talking about when it comes to motivation, support & inspiration. This is the place to come to. Like Jen said, just by reading your post it did something to me, like sort of a click. This prgram really works. High 5 Girlfriend;) My SIL was so worried when she sent my nephew on his 1st boyscout camping trip by himself. All weekend she was stressed. They grow up too fast. Have a fun time with Britt(my girl).;)
Amiga, where are you?
Myra, I miss you. :(
Hi Janie, Sandy, Ruth & Zoe.
Have a nice evening everybody.

Hi Gang
Just got home from WW and wanted to post. I lost 3 lbs for a total of 16.4!! I'm having to do a happy dance for myself cuz I am just soooooo thrilled!! :cb: :cp: :dancer: So now I'm on my way out to the mall. I have an urge to buy shoes. I don't know why, I just do. Then I'm going to buy a birthday gift for a friend for a party tonight.
How is everyone doing? I can't stay right now but I'll be back tonight. Greg is out of town AGAIN so I will have the computer to myself. :D
Have a great day!!

I saw an 11 yr. old boy on Oprah yesterday that, 2 yrs. ago, weighed 200# . He lost 90# over two years. He was so happy. I cried during the tape from 2 yrs. ago. He was such a sad little boy.
He is 13 now and weighs 110. He looked so good and he was so happy.
She had on Bob Greene and it was about his book "Get With the Program". Bruce bought it today. So many women said when they read his book it just clicked. It is mainly exercise.
Click on this:
Get with the Program! (That is the name of his book)
Getting real about your weight, health, and emotional well-being.
By Bob Greene
From the show Emotional Eating
We all know that losing weight is the easy part.
It's keeping the weight off that's hard. In Get with the Program! Bob Greene, best-selling author of Make the Connection, gives you the keys to losing weight and staying fit for a lifetime.
The four-phase plan in Get with the Program! is like having your own personal trainer take you through the psychological, physical, and emotional challenges that are keeping you from weight-loss success. There are no arbitrary deadlines here: you move forward at your own pace, making lifestyle and dietary changes and increasing the intensity level of your exercise when it's right for you to do so. Journal entries, worksheets, and questionnaires let you establish, track, and evaluate your fitness goals.
In Phase One, you'll make the commitment to yourself to Get with the Program, and change the way you think about diet and exercise.
Phase Two will show you how to rev up your metabolism using aerobic exercise.
In Phase Three you'll take control of emotional eating, the eating you do to satisfy your emotional, not physical, hunger. You'll also see the positive results of your efforts.
Phase Four is all about building muscle, making sure you're making the best food choices, and making your new habits of health, activity, and good eating a continuing lifestyle. Included is a week-by-week diary for you to track your progress.
Get with the Program! is full of anecdotes and stories of women and men who met their personal goals, further helping to inspire you to move on to the next level of health and fitness.
Zoe,
That is a fantastic loss. Keep it going girl!
Thanks for the congrats Es and Jen!!! It feels so good.
That is sweet of you to get your sister the gift. I love giving too. :gift:
Bruce bought the book. It is so good. So many women said that exercise just clicked when they read this.
He advocates only 20 mins. on the treadmill 3 days a week and
weights 3 days a week. It is a good read.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Hello:wave:
Terri, I remember when they first showed it women all over the internet were saying anyone with that much money could have their own trainer if they wanted. You saw her house?! I'm not sure but that might have been her own gym.
Yesterday I felt so down. My arm is hurting again & I'm feeling very fat. I really need to do something. If I work this program the way I'm suppose to I stay hungry. I'm craving sweets most of the time. I'm not into vegetables. I like salad, broccoli, corn(so so)& green beans. I'm going to try & cut out carbs as much as possible. I know I'm going to struggle but if I don't do it this way I'm never going to lose weight. I don't feel attractive anymore.:( I never ever let Pete see me without my clothes on. I know I'm whining but I can't talk about this with anybody. Everybody thinks I'm always happy because I never complain, but Lord knows my self esteem is way down. Enough self pity. Let me dust myself off & do something about it.
I'll be back later.
Have a blessed Sunday.
Hugs,
Es

Zoe, Great loss! :cp: :cp: :cp: You're doing so well, I'm proud of you. The shoe thing made perfect sense to me...what a great reward. Your stats look great. :D
Es, Remember how much you mean to everyone around you....including all of us here. You've been successful in losing in the past; right now you're in a slump. We can't give up! Perhaps this is the low you have to get to in order to hear "the click"????I'm wondering how low one has to get. I totally understand the thing about not being undressed in front of Pete; I do exactly the same thing. And I thank God that Joe looks beyond the tummy to the real me. The past month has been a downward spiral for me. But remember we are NOT our bodies....we are beautiful, smart, sexy women. How we look is not who we are.
Cutting down on the carbs sounds like a good idea. I know what works for me...following the ww program to a T...journalling, H2O, and exercise. I know that if I do all of those, the craving for sweets subsides; now I've just got to do it. Good luck, if you want to do this/vent via email, you know where I am.
HI  Terri, Dianne, Janie, Sandy, Ruth....have a wonderful Sunday.

Jen, you're post made me teary eyed in a good way. Thanks for your support.;)
I got this from someone on another website.
This is what I needed to read today.
************************************************
Don’t Confuse Disappointment with Disaster
Just as we experience many joys as we travel down the road to better health, we also face some disappointments in our weight-loss journey.
Perhaps we overate and are disappointed in our behavior. Perhaps during weigh-in we maintained or showed a gain and we are disappointed in the results. Perhaps we can't get motivated to exercise and we are disappointed in our lack of effort.
To think we will do this program without encountering some low points along the way is unrealistic. However, those unrealistic expectations are what cause many to quit before they reach their ultimate goal. We know we cannot walk the tightrope without falling off a time or two - yet we still demand that perfection of ourselves. We set ourselves up for failure because it's an easy way out.
Don’t confuse disappointment with disaster.
Stop thinking every minor setback is a reason to quit. A gain is not a reason to quit. “Just a two-pound loss” this week is not reason to quit. Missing your goal this week by 5 or .5 pounds is not reason to quit. Binging for an hour, a day, a week or a month is not reason to quit.
These are not disasters within themselves - but quitting because of these reasons is disastrous. How are you ever going to get healthier and fit by stopping? Halfway following your weight-loss program is better than not at all. And, always remember, you can always, ALWAYS get back on track as quick as you got off of it. Just stop what you are doing and replace negative behaviors with positive ones. Take control of yourself.
When you are faced with disappointment, just know it will all work out in the end if you keep your eye on your goal and your body moving forward. Success will ultimately come if you just keep pushing. You have to want this more than anything else.
When you are faced with disappointment, you first have to address it. Yes, it is frustrating. Yes, it can be hurtful. Yes, it makes you feel like quitting sometimes. Don't bottle up your emotions or try to push them to the back of your mind in hopes you are hiding them. Feel them. Explore why you are disappointed. Talk it out with yourself and with anyone else you feel comfortable sharing with.
Once you have brought your disappointment into the light, you will see it is not as intimidating as it was in the dark corners of your mind. You will see you CAN overcome it - it's not bigger than your desire to succeed. Yes, it is very real but it is not as disastrous as you imagined it to be.
After you have addressed your feelings, then work toward a solution to overcome the disappointment. If you binged, figure out how to avoid another one. What triggered you? If you gained, figure out what might have caused it. If it is an unexplained gain, just strengthen yourself mentally to realize you need non-scale victories to show progress until the scale catches up with your good habits.
Don’t confuse disappointment with disaster.
Be prepared for the bumps in the road and be flexible enough to deal with them. Take time for yourself - feel the disappointment and then move on to bigger and better things. Just remember, the only disaster would be if you gave up on something that holds so much promise of happiness and health for you.
Mental exercise for the day:
Identify some past disappointments you've had. Did you work through them and come out a better person, or did you throw in the towel and quit? How can you better deal with the disappointments that are sure to come in your weight-loss journey?
Be sure to remember the good when dealing with the bad. Make a list of all the positives you have encountered in your journey. It will help keep it all in perspective.

Hello friends
It's late Sunday evening and I'm just about ready to settle into the bedroom with my book. Greg is out of town so I'm restless. I didn't do much today, just a lazy sort of day. It was cool and cloudy today so it felt good to just stay in. Church was wonderful this morning, as usual. The praise and worship part lasted an hour and 5 minutes!! Fabulous! I go to a charismatic church and if any of you do too, you know how wonderful the praise and worship part can be.
Terri ~ I never did give you your HIGH-5 for that wonderful loss!! WTG girl! Do you not just feel great??? :D Keep up the good work!
Es ~ to be honest, the only thing that made it "click" this time was that I put it in God's hands. I mean, I actually asked Him to help me with this and told Him that I was powerless ~ He's just so good to me. :D
Jen ~ yes, I have decided that I am going to reward myself with 'things' instead of food. I have about 30 or so pounds to go before my cruise in February and I really want to be down as far as possible. The shoes were a good choice in rewards, don't ya think???
Dianne ~ where you be girl??? I miss you. Come back, come back.

Hello my Bud's
Just a quick note before I head for the shower and off to work. Greg got home last night from his Nashville trip, was gone 5 days. The single life can be nice, sitting around, not having to cook, shopping at the mall after work. But now, bact to reality.
Es ~ I see the apt complexes around here and how they decorate for a holiday. WOW! It must be nice to drive in and see all the lights. I love lights. :) WTG on your journaling. I try to convince a friend of mine who isn't doing well with her program that the journaling part is SO important. I don't think I'd do as well if I didn't do it. Keep up the good work girl. You're on your way!! I'm proud of ya.
Jen ~ you are so right. This really IS the best thread and has to most supportive group of friends. I sometimes think that I don't contribute enough since my life is so busy at times and I'm not here like I want to be but you all have been a wonderful support ~ ears, shoulders and friends ~ this is the best place to come when I need a boost. :grouphug:

ESSIE, it's great that your journaling. I can say that it was much easier staying on track when I was journaling!! I really liked the message you posted. Sometimes we seem to think that one little setback is the end of the world, when actually it isn't. And yes, I too think of you all as best cyber friends.
ZOE, I know what you mean, I sometimes feel like I'm neglecting the group. My life is busy, but I find that when I'm in a low period is when I'm less likely to post. I know that is silly, that we are all here for each other, promise I'll try to do better.

Terri,
Rob the jerk is gone! And congrats on the Steelers' win on Monday!
My sister is in town from Arkansas...her daughter has colon cancer, had to have some tests done, but as her husband is a U.S.Marshall and was sent to the Washington D.C. area because of the sniper situation and couldn't be here, she wanted her Mom here to be with her for the tests. My niece is doing okay; it's wonderful that she's got her Mom for a visit, now her husband will be on his way home also, thank God. I know that's a long explanation
I spent the day with my sister yesterday. She needed to make a shopping trip to Trader Joe's for items she can't get down there. We had lunch and a great visit. Doesn't matter that I just went down to see her, we found plenty to talk about! ;)
Hi  to Zoe

Good Friday Morning Bud's !!
It's a little after 6am and I thought I'd come in here first thing. I've been up for awhile but just having coffee, reading the paper, having a relaxing morning before I get myself ready and out the door to work. Greg is in a golf tournament today, Sat and Sun. His practice round was yesterday and they got rained out. It looks to be a wet tournament for them. But they're fanatics, they'll play anyway.
Jen ~ When people here 'colon cancer', they get so afraid because all of the stories we hear aren't good. Maybe you can relay to your sister and neice this story....my grandfather, my mom's dad, died of colon cancer. He was in his late 70's and the reason he died is because he had had problems for years and years and never got it looked at. My mom got a report that SHE had colon cancer but it was when she went to the doctor early. She is fine today, years later. So I pray that all is well with your neice and know that it isn't the DARK prognosis everyone thinks. :D:D
Es ~ Hope you are feeling ok. Those shots can debilitate you for days. Be well girl. How's your journaling coming? I use WW etools and love it. It will calculate everything for you. It's great!
Janie ~ The way I look at weigh in's is that if it stays the same, it's a PLUS. :) Down by a "point something" or the same is so much better than UP 2. Hang in there ~ you'll do it.
Janie, Terri and Ruth ~ How are you's guys doing?
Dianne ~ I'm starting to wonder about you. I hope all is ok with Willie. Where are you???
well, gotta run. Have a great Friday. Tomorrow morning is my WI so wish me luck.

Thanks, Zoe, you're right. My niece was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when she was 11...studies show that colon cancer usually follows. She's 34 now, and due to the fact that she's had regular colonoscopies and treatment, she's living a very productive life. Is a teacher, has 2 daughters....definitely not the picture of illness that everyone expects.
It's great that your Mom caught it early and is healthy. Life is so good.
Good luck w/your WI. :D

Hi Buddies,
I'm back to normal.:D No pain today. I'm a happy camper. I have to go for PT 3 times a week for a month. I hate it but I gotta do what the dr. says. I have an appt. at 3:00 today. Fun:rolleyes:
Jen, I hope your niece will be okay. Sounds like she's a fighter. Pete's okay, the gym fanatic. It annoys me sometimes cause we hardly spend much time together but he has to go & spend at least 2 1/2 or 3 hrs. there. I guess it's worth it cause he looks really good. Even the men stare at him! It takes dedication & persistence. Something I don't have. I guess I'm jealous.
Zoe, how much is etools? There's 2 of them right? Etools & ww online or they're both the same? I'm still journaling. It's a pain but I'm trying to stick with it. I weigh-in on Sunday.

Hi all ~
Just got home and waiting for Greg to get here. I am wondering if he's going to be here for dinner (it probably would be a good idea to call his cell, doncha think??...) since he is in a golf tournament and I believe there is a dinner tonight. I'm going to get on etools and log my food for today.
Es ~ I think that etools and WW online are 2 different things. WW online members are those who cannot get to meetings and can use/buy into etools. To use etools, you have to be a current member, wheather online (I would think) or going to meetings. It's $12.95 a month ~ you can save a little if you buy 3 months at a time. The journaling there is great, calculates it all for you, no more looking up foods. And you can look up anything! It's a great tool. Oh, and there is a chart to chart your progress, showing that line going down, down, down. I need that visualy stuff. :D
Janie ~ I believe that colon cancer does in fact follow many crohn's disease patients. There is a woman who works for Greg and her husband has Crohn's and just recently had some colon problems ~ he has a temporary ostomy which they are hoping will be done away with soon.
Jen ~ You niece will be fine. Early detection is the key and she is doing everything she is supposed to do. I wish my grandfather hadn't ignored his problems. But thank God that we are more aware of colon cancer these days. Back then, no one even thought of that.
Hi to everyone else. Hope you have a great Friday evening. I'll check in tomorrow afternoon with my WI results.
Love to you all,
Patti and Zoe  <><

My prayers are with your niece. I am glad she is up on everything. What a time that family went through. Worrying about those dang snipers. Thank God they were caught.
Thanks about the Steelers. It was fun to watch.
I was mad that I couldn't enjoy Rob getting out. I started to feel for him.

I am so glad that you are pain free now. That must be awful.
I hope Pete is still doing ok.
The E-Tools and On-line are about the same. I belonged to e-tools first. Then I joined On-Line. On-line helps a lot with me.
Ruth,
It is great to hear from you again.
Poor Bruce. 3 weekends in a row he has had to go camping for Boy Scouts. The first weekend with Brandon, in the rain, the second with Bradley,in the rain, and this weekend with other leaders, no kids, for training, in the rain. He is not a HAPPY CAMPER. :dizzy:
I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Good Sunday Morning!
It's 6:15am and I'm having my coffee and going to be getting ready for church soon. With the time change, I feel wide awake. Ha! Hope you all had a great Saturday. I tried to do some Christmas shopping but ended up buying for myself. I need to get my act together if I'm going to meet my own goal of finishing my Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving.
Yesterday was my WI ~ I lost another 3.2 lbs which gave me my 10%, over my 10% ~ a total loss in the last 7 weeks of 19.6 lbs! Ask me if I wasn't (and still am) dancing all over the house, front lawn and street... :cb:  :cb:  Thank you all for all your support. I love all of you!
Terri ~ poor Bruce. Is it cold there yet? To be camping in the rain has to be the pits. You need to be ready for him when he gets home ~ warm clothes, a nice warm meal......:D
Hi to the rest of you wonderful 40-somethings. Y'all must be so busy. I am going to church and then my 'plan' was to go to the office for a few hours but I don't wanna. I think I'll think about that a little more.
Have a blessed Sunday everyone.

Hi Buddies:wave:
I am feeling so good I have to stop & knock on wood(tap tap tap)!
Seriously. I pray that it lasts. When I have pain in my arm I don't feel like working out & that makes me feel sick.
Did everyone change their clocks back? I love love love it now. It really feels like fall. I can't believe halloween is here.
I'm thinking about joining WW online.
The only thing is you don't get their materials. :( I'm really not one for the meetings. I could never get there & I hate going after work. We'll see.
Terri, we had so much rain yesterday. I stayed in all day. I convinced Pete not to go to the gym & stay home. We watched movies all day. It was great. Poor Bruce:( I'm bet he's not a happy camper.
Zoe, so WW online would be much cheaper. I have 8 prepaid coupons from the last time but I want to save them for 2003. You know they always change their program every year. In the meantime, I'll probably do the online plan. We pay $12 a week. You save alot doing it online. Except you can't chit chat but I'm not a chit chatter anyway.
DIANNE!!!! What's up girl! Stop in & say hi. We miss you.
Janie, I hope you're feeling better.
Jen, I'm so relieved they caught the sniper. Your niece's husband is home right? She's really something. God Bless her.
My buds, I'll be back later. Hi to the rest of the gang.
Hugs,
Es

Zoe. HA! I am ordering pizza.
CONGRATS to you~ You are cooking~ That is a WOWIE . You go girl! I'll bet you were dancing. Keep it up!!!!!!
Es,
I am knocking too. I hate pain. I also love turning the clocks back too! I can't wait to see what time it gets dark. No neighborhood kids after 5 from now on! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do on-line. After registration fees it is like $9.00 something a month compared to $11.00 a week. Also if you go to Dottis site you can get the weekly topic. The regular girl is on her honeymoon so she is out for a little while and she has a sub and it isn't as in depth as usual but it gives you sme insight. Here is the
link :
It is on the message boards. The thread is called "Topic for week".
Have a great Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ZOE, WAY TO GO!!!!:bravo: :cp: We must have been posting around the same time so I missed your post. Awesome!! What are you doing that you're losing so fast this time? I know it's prayer but what are you eating? Higher protein? Whatever it is, keep it up Girl. I am so proud of you. :) About Christmas, I haven't started my list yet. I guess it'll be one of those last minute gifts this year. Money is a little tight.
Terri, I'll check out the website before I sign off. Thanks Bud.;)
We went to the chinese buffet & the line was out the door. I think it's one of the best in Suffolk County & you can't beat the price. Weekdays it's $6.00 per person & weekends $7.00. What's so good about it is that you can eat so healthy. They have a salad bar & lots of chicken. Pete loves it. I kinda like it but it's hard to journal. No more than once a week for me. :nono:
Have a great evening.
Love you's,
Es

Good Monday Morning ~
thank you all for the congrats. I really am feeling great. I wasn't 100% over the weekend but not horrible ~ just over my pts by a small bit. But that's what I do....I eat the extra points, THEN I bank them. I guess I do it backwards but hey, it's working.
Terri How was that pizza?? :D
Es ~ I don't know if WW online is cheaper ~ I don't know how it works but I would think that you don't have to pay the 'up front' cost, the 'joining' fee. I love etools though and I would recommend it once you start going to meetings in January. And yes, they do always change something the beginning of each year. I think they are coming out with an updated "Eating Out" book soon.
Hi Janie, Jen and Ruth
Dianne ~ Hey girl....come talk to us. :)
Later you's guys.

Zoe!!
You're doing so well :D Your stats are verry impressive. :cb: :cb: That backwards banking thing is working for you, I wouldn't change it either. This year I've decided to get the bulk of the shopping done early also; I'll leave 1 or 2 small gifts for the annual shopping trip Joe and I make in early Dec.
Es,
Joe would love that Chinese buffet. There are some in this area, but we haven't heard such great things about them.
Terri,
It got dark yesterday at 5 and I thought of your post :) I love when it does this, we tend to eat dinner much earlier! Hope Bruce survived yet another camping weekend! I had to laugh, Jess was a Happy Camper for a Halloween party on Saturday, her costume was cute.
have a good day,
~Jen

Jen,
AWW! I love costumes...on other people.
I'll bet she looked cute. What are your grandbabies going as?
Zoe,
Bruce and the kids devoured it but I saved mine for today. I wasn't in the mood afterall.
I call the backward banking "EATING ON CREDIT". I try to "PAY" the balance off at the end of the week instead of paying "INTEREST". I do this a lot too. It works.
Es,
I love ours too. I usually count the veggie delight
as 1 for any fats they put in it.
I bought my candy for Halloween. I bought stuff the kids love but I can do without like skittles, twizzlers, 3 Muskateers. None of that interests me. I put it in the witch's couldron and is in my closet waiting. No temptations. I plan on taking a couple reese cups from the kids bags and that is it. I will pre-plan for them so no guilt is involved.
Have a great Monday.

ZZZOOOEEE!!!
WTG You are leaving the rest of us in the dust. I have been kind of sick with a cold and slight fever for the last week. I haven't been watching my points but I haven't had much of an appetite either. I miss working out though. I feel like such a sloth.
Es,
I am so glad that you are feeling better. I'll keep knocking too ;)
