100 lb. Club - Oh my gosh!!! I just realized!!!!!

07-07-2010, 07:59 PM
Well, knock me over with a feather.... I just happened to glance at my own ticker and I realized what it said....

18 lbs to goal.

18???? To goal????? Just a week ago, I was thinking that goal seemed as distant as ever!!!! But 18 lbs, which is, precisely, less than 20 lbs. Less than ten pounds x two. It's less than 5 lbs times 4.

Now, I know, in the back of my mind that I'll probably readjust that ticker eventually, since my current goal is above a healthy BMI, but even so.

18 lbs?????????

You are so close! Even if you change it, you're almost to the goal you dreamed about in the beginning. Congratulations!

Hey-- and I just noticed that you are only 13 lbs to goal!!! That is not even 5 lbs x three!!!!

I know I'm changing mine when I get there, so I'm kind of holding off on the excitement. It was the lowest I could fathom back in September.

But I guess, either way, it's reason to celebrate! Good for both of us!

Fantastic!!

That's so awesome!!

Yay! I think that even if you plan to change it, it is still a thing to be celebrated (that goes for you too emily). Your original goal is still a milestone like the first 10%, 50 pounds down, 100 pounds down, onederland, no longer obese, etc. There are lots of milestones to be celebrated here at 3FC and I think that when you hit this one you should celebrate your heart out before you go changing it. Good job! :yay:

Great stuff! What a realization!

You're right there!! It's yours. It's yours. You ARE going to get there. Without a doubt. INCREDIBLE!!

And for the record, I too lowered my *goal* once I got there. I had set it just into the overweight category, never imagining I could get lower, given my previous former low weights (as a teen, very young adult), but given the healthy foods, exercise and good habits that became part of my life - no problem - smashed that original goal and went on to a normal, healthy BMI.

You always have to time to re-assess and than re-asses once more. Nothing is set in stone. It's all up to you. :)

07-08-2010, 09:57 AM
This is great! :) And, yes, I got to goal a few months ago, and decided to lower it by another 20 pounds. I'm still not entirely convinced I'm where I want to be, so I very well may end up losing more. Point is, I think the best time to reassess your goal is once you get there, or very close, because it's just so hard to guess what'll be right for you until you're near.

Thanks Catherine and Robin for giving your perspective on the "goal" issue.

I know I picked 175 for one reason and one reason only. I simply could not bear putting a lower weight because then my fitday ticker would not allow me to get to goal by this summer-- so I picked the lowest weight fitday would allow me to get to in 14 months, and even then, fitday was giving me a "warning" that my rate would be too fast.... well, sigh, fitday was right and I did not hit that goal by July.

I am going to reevaluate when I hit 175 but the great thing is that two weeks ago I thought that goal was at least 6 months away, and now I feel like I think I can get there faster.

07-08-2010, 11:27 AM
Oh my gosh, that's exactly why I picked 195 as my goal way back when! FitDay yelled at me when I put in 175, so I meekly knocked it back up to 195 to make the nasty red warning go away.

07-08-2010, 12:31 PM
Very awesome!
