40-Somethings - July TargetsView Full Version : July Targets ange82much 06-30-2010, 12:45 PM ok, this isn't wishy washy "i'd like" stuff. This is what is definitely measurable and achievable by the end of july. It's fine to exceed any targets, but not ok to fall short.... ange82much 06-30-2010, 12:47 PM 1) Lose 1lb and get to 122. Sounds very modest but will actually take a huge effort! I CAN do it though. 2) Increase running distance so i can comfortably do 10km motivated chickie 06-30-2010, 03:36 PM I've been reading the challenge threads on 3FC & it looks like a lot of people are excited to set their July goals. I'm bursting with goals myself. Goal 1: Reduce frequency of binges I'd like to be accountable for the number of binges I have in July. I'd like to get the number of binge days to be under 6. Last month, I had about 10 binge days. Ideally, I'd love to have 0 binge days, but I'm not quite that recovered yet. Goal 2: Quit smoking & Rebuild fitness program This is absurd. I shouldn't be smoking. And when I smoke, I don't exercise. So, I am bundling quitting smoking & exercise together. I better be smoke free by the end of July. (Giving myself tough love right now) Goal 3: Weigh under my red line weight of 128. If I don't binge a lot, it's likely I'll lose a pound or two. But weight loss isn't my goal at the moment. But I will put my weight limit as 128, so my goal is not to gain. Right now, I'm at 127 pounds. Ok, that's plenty of goals for July. Hope I make progress. jigglefree 06-30-2010, 05:21 PM I want to join this challenge. I have some questions though...just like the new person always want to know something... Goals have to be what I will do and where I will be, right? Are we checking in daily? If my thoughts are correct, I'm in. If not I will adjust and still be in!! Goal #1 - Drink 2liters of water daily. Goal #2 - Work out at least once a day except on Sunday. FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!!! ange82much 06-30-2010, 06:55 PM Hi Jigglefree - Yep, your goals are what you will do and they have to be measurable. Yours look great. The only other thing i'd say is that the idea is that at the end of July you really should be able to look back and say for definite that you achieved exactly what you've said AT LEAST. Therefore with your goals perhaps you should allow yourself a bit more leeway. For example give yourself an extra 3 'floating' days during the month where if you don't work out during the week or you dont manage 2L water then it's ok you haven't failed. As i said originally it's ok to exceed your targets, so in your head plan to be absolutely strict, but if one day it doesn't happen then you're still on target. What do you reckon? ange82much 06-30-2010, 07:02 PM oops, forgot to say, check in daily or whenever you like. No rules on this one. My targets aren't do-able on a daily basis and it will take some time before i'm approaching them so I'm aiming for a more-than-weekly-check in on my own progress. kalliopikat 07-01-2010, 09:15 AM Hi. I think I'm going to try an exercise challenge. Will try to exercise 25 times this month, minimum of 45 mins each time. I have never tried an exercise challenge. It might to obsess about something other than food! lol. jigglefree 07-01-2010, 12:30 PM Ange - That sounds great especially since we have a family reunion coming up on the weekend of the 16th. Not sure how much working out I'll get done. So I will say I'm going to workout 20 times this month. I already have it done for today. I'm working on my two liters. I don't really get down on myself if I don't get my two in because I know this is a process and some days are better than others. For each time I workout and drink my two liters I will add a smiley for each. :running: For each workout. :running: :hat: For ever two liter day neurodoc 07-04-2010, 12:43 PM Ok, so this is by July 30th, right? Goal 1: Weight will stay solidly in the 130s, even on "high" days (lowest weight right now is 139.5). Goal 2: I will do at least 1 unassisted pull up and be able to jog for 30 minutes without slowing to a walk (currently need to walk at least 3-4 times for 1-2 min). If I can accomplish these goals, I will reward myself with a new pair of jeans, size 6 (can fit into them now, but they're tight ...). Losing It 2010 07-04-2010, 01:11 PM Hey I am new here on the boards but over 4 decades old, now, my July target is stay away from fast foods, no soda and eating healthier. My goal is not to kill my family as I get throught the first 30 days LOL JessLess 07-04-2010, 04:15 PM Goal #1 - Drink at least 1 liters of water daily. Goal #2 - Get down to 242 lbs or less. (I'm at 244 now) lyv33 07-04-2010, 11:08 PM I think I am doing ok with the eating now. So, I think that I will try drinking more water to see if that will help to drop at least 2-3 lbs this month. I would love to be 159 by the end of the month, but by the way I'm going 2 lbs will be good. Rochester 07-04-2010, 11:44 PM I'm joining Motivated Chickie on the quitting smoking goal! I tried to do this in June but was only moderately successful. I want to be COMPLETELY smoke free by August 1. I'm doing the Couch to 5K program and am starting Week 4 this week. My diligence to this really dropped off this week so I need to remotivate myself. By August 1, I want to be on Week 6 (giving myself some leeway to repeat weeks if needed, but not to take weeks off). I want to be out of the 220s. I'm currently bouncing between 222 and 224, so this would be a 3-5 pound loss. I'd be ecstatic if it was more than that, but right now my body seems more interested in losing inches than pounds. So my three goals for the challenge are: :smoking: Quit smoking :running: Work towards Week 6 of C25k. :goodscale Lose 3-5 pounds. Thanks for letting me join the challenge! :) Im On A Boat 07-05-2010, 01:09 AM Hi - my goals. # 1 - Lose 7 pounds (184) # 2 - Quit smoking this month. I keep procrastinating. Ugh! Im On A Boat 07-05-2010, 01:14 AM Ok after I posted I read the thread, glad I am not the only one with a goal to quit smoking this month. I have joined several of the groups & challenges & everybody is so welcoming & very nice. Just start posting & everybody just includes you in everything. If you want to start running the couch to 5k is a great program, I use the program just for increasing my speed, intervals are a great way to accomplish this. There are a couple of groups on here for that program, it works, won't lie to you it is hard work. I was already running 5+ miles when I found the program but it really is great for non-runners. The one that I attempted to join 2 days ago and needed a reply to join is a Biggest Loser challenge. You need a reply back because they do teams and also because it was for the 30 something and I'm a 40 something. I'm a chatter box so yeah I've joined quite a few forums/threads just by jumping in. :) Well talk to you later and thanks for the tip of the Couch to 5K and the welcome. Have a wonderful day  Just checked again, I have a partner. :carrot: Rochester 07-05-2010, 10:37 AM Never mind. :) I was helping love2b150 but she'd figured it out. Caroline & Rochester - we can do this, right? :dizzy: What's your plan of attack, chickies? I've tried almost everything with no success. I really don't struggle with the nicotine cravings too badly, but that whole psychological-something-to-do-hand-to-mouth thing just about kills me and is always what makes me cave. love2b150 07-05-2010, 10:58 AM Never mind. :) I was helping love2b150 but she'd figured it out. Thanks Rochester, best of luck on your goals and me too  Im On A Boat 07-05-2010, 12:18 PM Rochester I don't have a plan of attack, but any plan would be better than me ignoring it. :D I am thinking right now since I don't smoke that much, about a 1/2 a pack a day that I probably could just stop cold turkey. I know I should be able to, but I totally procrastinate on picking a date to stop. So I really haven't accomplished much. love2b150 07-05-2010, 01:02 PM Hi Dee, I just looked at the Couch to 5K site and looked at the schedule. I'm gonna give this a try. Thanks for the suggestion. And best of luck all of you that are trying to quit smoking. I quit in 2003. Take care. neurodoc 07-05-2010, 01:57 PM Rochester, have you considered nicotine gum? I'm told that the prescription drug buproprion (Wellbutrin) also helps quell that "urge to do something" that keeps a lot of people from succeeding. You'd need to ask your doctor for a prescription though. Good luck! Rochester 07-05-2010, 08:23 PM Rochester, have you considered nicotine gum? I'm told that the prescription drug buproprion (Wellbutrin) also helps quell that "urge to do something" that keeps a lot of people from succeeding. Like Im On A Boat, I'm down to about a half pack a day, so I'm going to try going cold turkey. And I'm just going to try to suffer through the whole psychological withdrawal crap. @love2b150 - I'm doing C25K and I LOVE it. I'm starting W4 this week. It's a totally doable program no matter what fitness level you start at, and that's fantastic. Edited to ask: Why is it called "quitting cold turkey"? When are turkeys ever cold, and what does that have to do with giving up a bad habit? :?: :dizzy: weightlosswanted 07-05-2010, 09:38 PM my main goal for july is to increase my physical activity, so far it's been 8 straight days since I started. You"ll kick the habit quicker than you think because you already have the mind set to do it. You go Girl :) And wish me luck, I tried to get my husband to start this evening but he said not today, so I walked 3 1/2 miles. I will surely let you all know when I give it a go. jigglefree 07-06-2010, 09:21 AM Good Day everyone. I'm a little behind in my posting but I'm staying on track. The holiday weekend was a very restful but I made sure I got my workout and water in so I wouldn't get out of control. I also stayed within my calorie range except on yesterday. Crazy huh?? I was very strict on Sunday and threw caution to the wind yesterday...go figure. Well it's a great day to take care of your body...So let's have some fun. :running: For each workout :running::running::running::running: :hat: For ever two liter day :hat::hat: ange82much 07-06-2010, 11:51 PM Good work all you challengees. Especially the stop-smokers. That must be really tough and especially whilst you're trying to diet too. I haven't smoked before but i understand rochesters comment just from trying to wean myself off having a piece of chocolate after my dinner at night!! I found some sort of substitution best (in my case a cup of mint tea instead of the choc). but that whole psychological-something-to-do-hand-to-mouth thing just about kills me and is always what makes me cave. But obviously it's a lot harder when there's that addictive factor in there too. Good luck to you all. You can do it. Think how good you'll feel by end of July...It's great that there's 3 of you doing it for a bit of moral support. My plan isn't going great. I've had a lower leg strain so decided to stop running for a few days (and have been doing spin classes at the gym instead). Today though i gave it another go and had about 30min run and i seem ok again so all is good, but i still think i need to ramp up the distance slowly if i can! (The temptation is to do too much too soon with these things as i've learnt the hard way many times before!!) I know so many people who love that C25K program though so good luck with it love2b150, keep us updated on how it's going, and good suggestion Dee. Also my diet isn't going very well and i haven't dared to get on the scales again for a few days. I feel a bit flabby but on the other hand my clothes seem looser. Hmmmm. Whatever - i need to buckle down and cut out fatty sugary stuff. Im On A Boat 07-07-2010, 12:20 PM Hi Everybody! Have two goals this month # 1 - lose 7 pounds - just for the record so far nothing! # 2 - quit smoking. This one I am doing today. Not happy, not in the best of moods, but the voices in my head are making me do it. So yeah I am a grouch! But I did not stop by the store & buy a pack, so good thing I am at work all by myself this week so none of my co-workers are in danger of me going postal on them. So for the remainder of this week I can't harm anyone & maybe, just maybe I can be social by the time next week comes. Have a good day everyone! :D love2b150 07-07-2010, 12:55 PM I haven't lost anything this week either, ugh. But I keep thinking I'll get my whoosh that I hear the ladies talking about. I finally came on after spotting for 2 days so let's see how this month goes. Dee you GO GIRL, you'll do fine. Hope that store that you stop in can be avoided, because I remember the gas station attendant saying to me no Benson & Hedges today. Funny how people try to pull you in. Have a great day :D christinemariep 07-07-2010, 01:36 PM I'm going to join you all here! My goal is to get to 140 pounds by the end of July. I weighed in at 144.6 this AM, so getting to this weight is definitely do-able, but will take focus on my part, which I've lacked over the past few weeks. I am looking forward to being a part of your group. :) jigglefree 07-07-2010, 02:13 PM Things are good!!! I did level2 of 30DS this morning and that one is always the hard on for me. I just got back for my two miles on the treadmill. I'm going to be getting more workouts in this week because of my schedule until August. But I feel fabulous after the 1 mile run and 1 mile walk/run. Have a great day everyone!! Don't get discouraged if you are at a plateau or haven't lost anything, at least you are not gaining!! Let's stay focused and we will be farther along than we were at the beginning of the month. :running: For each workout :running::running::running::running::running::runn ing: :hat: For ever two liter day :hat::hat::hat: love2b150 07-07-2010, 03:58 PM :welcome: ChristineMarie Don't get discouraged if you are at a plateau or haven't lost anything, at least you are not gaining!! Jiggle thanks again for the encouragement :) ange82much 07-07-2010, 06:25 PM Welcome christinemariep - good luck with getting stuck in and making your goal. Woo hoo Dee, you made the big decision. Sending you lots and lots of willpower! Jigglefree - great news that you're getting into the exercise. I just love to read posts like yours where you're sounding really enthusiastic! Lovetobe150 - stay patient and you'll start losing again soon. I plucked up courage to get on the scales this morning and was actually pleasantly surprised with 55.7kg (which apparently is 122.8lb) so that's encouraged me to try a bit harder and get this thing done. Rochester 07-07-2010, 10:17 PM I had a very scarey "I need to quit smoking" reminder today. :( The father of someone I was friends with growing up probably has lung cancer; he's going through tests right now. The first cigarette I ever had was stolen from one of his packs, when I was about 13, and I continued to steal cigarettes from him for about a year. When I told my mother about him, all I said was 'cancer' but she immediately said, "He probably has lung cancer; he's smoked for years." No, there really isn't any connection to me, but I still found it rather frightening. jigglefree 07-08-2010, 01:31 PM Still on task to meet my 25 workouts for this month. I'm feeling good about sticking to running a mile everyday this week. So far so good, just have to hit it hard tomorrow. I may try to workout this evening then again I may just wait until tomorrow. Don't want to over do it and wear my body down. Have a great on plan day everyone. Stay focused, don't beat yourself up if you miss it in a meal or workout. Every long journey has a few potty breaks. :running: For each workout :running::running::running::running::running::runn ing::running: :hat: For ever two liter day :hat::hat::hat::hat: jigglefree 07-09-2010, 04:52 PM I'm so happy with myself. I got my workout and water in today. It wasn't easy but I did it. There are twenty two days left and I have seven workouts so far. That means I have to get in 18 workouts in those 22 days...I got this. I'm sure you all are working hard on your goals and we will be celebrating our accomplishments at the end of the month. :running: For each workout :running::running::running::running::running::runn ing::running: :hat: For ever two liter day :hat::hat::hat::hat: love2b150 07-09-2010, 09:16 PM Jiggle, you are such a motivator. I hope to get there one day. Keep inspiring :) ... I told this story on another thread but like always when I feel ignored I post some place else because it does matter to me and I'd like someone to be happy with me ... I have a small victory to share. My friend sent our daughter a box of clothes, well one of the tops in there looked too big for her so I took it out to try on. The shirt is a medium, (I own XL-2X tops) it didn't look bad but I think it will look better when I lose a few more pounds/inches. So I decide to ask my daughter to go to her closet and find two of her biggest tops. She comes down with her version of a big small and a medium. I got in the big small on but it looked like I had my daughters shirt on (not attractive). I put on the medium and ... not bad, it fit and looked better than I thought it would. So I was excited since I haven't thought about looking at medium shirts in the store. It will look better a few inches down the road but I'll tell you ... I can't remember the last time I wore/had on a medium shirt. Thanks for listening. neurodoc 07-09-2010, 09:33 PM WOOHOO, love2b. That is truly a pleasant surprise, and a great achievement. From 2x to a regular medium? Yeah! love2b150 07-09-2010, 10:11 PM Thanks neurodoc, I still have some losing to do before I go out and buy them but it was nice to actually put it on. :carrot: But I am really getting excited now. That really made my day since my scale hasn't moved in a while. My first month was great, this month has been scary with no loses. Thanks again :) ange82much 07-09-2010, 11:56 PM Official update time for me 1) Lose 1lb and get to 122. Sounds very modest but will actually take a huge effort! I CAN do it though. 2) Increase running distance so i can comfortably do 10km 1) 122.8lb Borderline on plan. by fluke i've not actually gained in the last couple of weeks, but i really need to actually change what i'm doing to achieve this target. Next week i'm working away but have a self catering appartment, so i'll go to the supermarket and buy only a small volume of healthy stuff and i should be able to manage my intake that way and get a little more along the way to 122lb without other people to sabotage my efforts!! 2) Max around 6.5km. Forced slow progress, but still confident of 10km by end July I injured myself on 1st July so i've been resting my running legs and doing mainly spin classes instead, however i ran about 5km on wed and again on thurs. My plan is to keep off running a couple more days til i'm away next week and by then i'm hoping to be fully fit. jigglefree 07-10-2010, 09:07 AM Still pressing in to my program. I'm excited about getting to my goal of 25 workouts. I'm halfway into my 2 liters of water for today. So I'm expecting great things by the end of the month. Love2b150 - That's an awesome surprise. Keep up the good work. Nothing like finding out you are smaller than you think you are. Ange - I thought I was doing something running a mile everyday. But 10km, DO THAT!!! I'm not really trying to be a runner, I just like the results I get inch wise from running. My plan is not to increase my distance but cut down on my time running a mile. Right now I'm at 13-14 minutes...slow I know but I'm just getting started. :running: For each workout :running::running::running::running::running::runn ing::running::running: :hat: For ever two liter day :hat::hat::hat::hat::hat: Okay everyone lets move these beautiful bodies and feed them to live. We are three weeks away from deadline and that's enough time to see some bragging rites!!!:cheer2::cheer3: ange82much 07-10-2010, 10:44 PM Ange - I'm not really trying to be a runner, I just like the results I get inch wise from running. Hi Jigglefree - Haaaaaa. That's what they all say. It's the slippery slope, you'll be hooked if you don't watch yourself!! Actually you ARE a real runner already. It took me ages to be able to call myself 'a runner' too, but it's nothing to do with the speed or how 'good' you are, so start accepting the label! Your target is a good one i think and similar to mine for last month, which was to average over 10mins a day (i'm easing myself back into things after a broken foot in April). Really it would make more sense for me to work on speed too rather than distance, but i don't like going fast!! I'm too lazy. I really enjoying going for a little trot round and it's a pleasure for me rather than real exercise - hence i'm more inclined to be soft on myself and go farther rather than longer. love2b150 07-11-2010, 01:53 PM Lovetobe150 - stay patient and you'll start losing again soon. Well Ange82much, the scale said 181.4 this morning ... we're moving again and maybe when my TOM is finally over I'll see my 170 something. I can't wait. Thanks Jiggle, I can't wait to put on a dress with a real waistline like you and take a photo. So far the ones that I have snapped still look blahhh. My day is coming. :carrot: I have never been one of the shapely girls, kind of irregular I guess I would say. But must not have been too bad my DH has had his eye on me since middle school :D Jiggle is there a reason you keep track of how much exercise you do? Have you found some enlightening news on how much exercise will get us to goal quicker :)? Inquiring minds want to know? or Is it just one of your wonderful goals to achieve? I do a hour of walking just about everyday maybe I should keep tabs on my exercise also. :cheer2:I keep telling you ... you motivate me.:cheer2: I have an exercise tape that will really kick me into gear and get stuff moving. Haven't done it in a while and was only able to do 20 minutes when I got it and easily just gave up. I've grown up since then (yay) and I have seen the results of the work out first hand. I will start tomorrow and let you all know my results. I'm having some shoulder/upper arm issues today so I don't want to push it today. Hope everyone, including me has an ON POINT day. neurodoc 07-11-2010, 01:57 PM Jigglefree- just an observation from the many exercise books I've read. When you're trying for fat loss, the longer you stay moving, the more calories you burn while doing it, AND THE LONGER YOUR METABOLISM STAYS REVVED AFTERWARD. So, if you do 2 workouts that burn the same number of calories, but one takes 20 min. and the other takes 40, you will gain more "afterburn" from the 40 min workout. Plus, most people don't workout "twice as hard" in half the time, so you don't even get the same number of calories burned directly. My advice- stay at the same number of minutes exercising a day, and increase your distance as you get stronger. weightlosswanted 07-11-2010, 10:23 PM Jigglefree said, Every long journey has a few potty breaks omg, I love it!!! I did some extra walking yesterday and really stepped it up today, but nothing extra on Friday...I'm going to count the extra walking yesterday because in 105-110 degree temps with the heat index just standing outside turns me into a puddle! Back to the gym tomorrow and I really want to start doing some swimming after work. Need to stay off the computer when I get home! So far I've only missed one day out of 11 so I'm on track. Did horribly with my food yesterday so I'm not sure why the scale showed a 3lb drop this morning unless it was water weight I lost walking in the heat. If it sticks then it just brought be back to 162, and I'm still yo-yoing between 162-164, sometimes bouncing back up to 166 : ( Waiting for that next whoosh where I drop a couple of pounds and then go back to the roller-coaster between the new low and the old one. I told my sister today at the rate I'm losing I'll get that extra 40lbs off by the time I'm 50, which is another 4.5 years! I'm back on track with my food, went to the farmer's market yesterday and cooked up some food for the week tonight. Fresh corn on the cob, a zucchini/squash/spinich casserole and a mixed fruit crisp (healthy one) with blueberries and peaches. So I fell off the wagon with the food yesterday, but overall I'm staying on target to reach my july goals : ) Everybody is doing awesome, and y'all are big source of inspiration! weightlosswanted 07-11-2010, 10:28 PM my bounty from the farmer's market jigglefree 07-12-2010, 03:15 PM Love2B150 - No cool revelation on tracking workout, just set a goal for July that could be measured at the end. Sometimes the waistline is a curse. I go to buy clothes and have to shop for my hips and the waist is too big. Depending on where I get it the cost to fix it is more than the clothing. But it does have it's benefits!! :carrot::carrot: Neurodoc - I'm thinking the people that wrote the exercise books haven't spent 20 minutes with Jillian and 30 day shred. I will take that into consideration. My body tends to need changes every couple weeks to a month. :dizzy::dizzy: Weightloss - Potty breaks are important when you start traveling long distance. My husband hates it because I drink lots of water and want a potty break more than the baby. That bounty looks tasty and quite refreshing. :running: For every workout :running::running::running::running::running: :running::running::running::running: :hat: For every two liter day :hat::hat::hat::hat::hat::hat: Okay so we know the routine...eat healthy and workout. Do what you can so your body doesn't get complacent. If your upper body has an injury work the lower half by doing some toning or if the lower body has an injury do some upper body workouts...do something or at least keep those meal plans on point. WE CAN DO THIS!! jigglefree 07-13-2010, 12:48 PM I'm getting it done today!! I'm feeling really good. I think Raggae Music and running is a winning combination for me. It could be the playlist too. How is everyone doing today? I'm up to 10 only 15 workouts left for the month. I can do this!! :running: For every workout :running::running::running::running::running: :running::running::running::running::running: :hat: For every two liter day :hat::hat::hat::hat::hat::hat::hat: Alrighty now we got 2.5 weeks left to make an impact in our own lives so lets hit and hit it hard!! weightlosswanted 07-13-2010, 04:00 PM Back on track, 10 mins on the elliptical before work, 20 minute workout during lunch : ) Extra physical activitiy 10 out of 13 days, go me! ange82much 07-14-2010, 06:46 AM I just ran 10.2km!! Not exactly speedy, but no stopping and no walking. I intended to do about 8.5 but ended up doing 9.5 then decided i might as well extend it and make it 10. So i'm pleased about that, but i also want to be able to do it again possibly a couple of times before the end of July. It felt further than normal, and i want it to feel normal, or at least be able to go a bit further to fully achieve my July targets. Wish the weight loss bit of my targets could be rolled over so easily... Rochester 07-14-2010, 07:12 AM My July targets and updates. Quit smoking. (Meh. Just can't totally kick it. ) Work towards Week 6 of C25k. (Right on track and doing my first 5K Saturday! :running: ) Lose 3-5 pounds. (I wanna blow up the scale. ) JJ Canada 07-14-2010, 07:30 AM Hello all. i am new here and not sure how this all works but just thought I needed the motivation to get started. I'm almost 6' tall and have about 50 lbs to lose. i am soo tired of everyone telling me that I look great the way I am...(like 240 lbs is a good thing even with my height) How do I get one of those weight loss timeline things? I've done WW at homeon my own(my sister in law gave me all her stuff) and I had done really well. I had lost 15 lbs in about a month but then I found out about some health problems through routine bloodwork and fell off the wagon and have not been able to get back on. That was about a year ago. So here goes again...wish me luck:) ange82much 07-14-2010, 08:08 AM Good luck with starting again JJ. At least you know that WW works for you. All you have to do now is be good and stick to it! Make a promise to yourself that you must do it til at least the end of July, then hopefully you'll be seeing results by then and you'll be motivated to continue. Keep us updated. You'll have to wait about 3 weeks i think it is, for your ticker. And you'll also have to make minimum 20 posts (or something) during that time. love2b150 07-14-2010, 11:29 AM OK regarding my JULY TARGET ... ~I am so far away from getting to 170 ... my scale is going the wrong way :( ~I have managed to get up to 3 miles constantly, sometimes 3.5 except when it rains. Now pushing for more ... need to do something else. Have yet to try C25K :( I have workout DVD's and haven't done those either Well the good news is I am still OP with my eating that hasn't changed I just need to get my hinny in gear, forget about this pain in my shoulder/arm and do this thing. Pouting again ... I so want to see 170 something ... maybe I can trick myself.;) Jiggle :woohoo: You go Girl :carrot: Rochester it'll happen may not be right now but as long as you keep speaking it and believing that you can kick it just as with the weight and the scale for me right now ... it will happen for us. :welcome: JJ Canada Ange I'm still being patient :D :woohoo: on your :running: Have a terrific on point day Ladies. :grouphug: jigglefree 07-14-2010, 01:38 PM I'm back from my afternoon workout. I salute those of you that run outside when it's hot. I run on the treadmill and as hot as I get...Ya'll go head on!! Love2b150 - I've never seen C25K. I hear a lot about it though. Jump on the scale and tell it to go the other direction. Ange - You ran 10.2km...WOW!!! I thought I was doing something running 1 mile. This is why I love this site...someone is working it and I can be hopeful. :running: for every workout :running::running::running::running::running: :running::running::running::running::running: :running: :hat: For every 2 liter day :hat::hat::hat::hat::hat: :hat::hat::hat: love2b150 07-14-2010, 03:17 PM I googled Couch to 5K and printed a schedule of what you are supposed to do. Wish I had a partner to get started with me, so far I haven't found someone that wants to run/jog. So maybe I'll just plan to start in the winter when my husband finally gets the treadmill. :) I sure would love to tell that scale a few things, but I don't want to make it madder than what it is, LOL :) weightlosswanted 07-15-2010, 06:39 PM Wow, everyone seems to be doing great w/ your goals! Jigglefree, I have the opposite problem - if it fits my waist then it's baggy in the hips/butt/thighs. For a skirt or dress to fit me around most often it will end up being floor length! Love2B, don't do it! procrastination is the enemy! post an ad on craigslist if you need to find a workout buddy : ) I got in 30 extra minutes today - elliptical, bike, treadmill and armbike. go me! lyv33 07-18-2010, 04:05 PM I haven't lost anymore weight, but I haven't gained any either. I am getting a little discouraged by the slow weight loss, but I really can't complain much. love2b150 07-21-2010, 10:30 PM Love2B, don't do it! procrastination is the enemy! post an ad on craigslist if you need to find a workout buddy : ) Thanks weightlosswanted, We've had some nutty people doing things using craigslist here lately. They have even gone as far as meeting people yards away from the sheriffs station. :dizzy: So I will workout like I've been doing ... :D with my two walking buddies when they come and my hubby when I can keep up ... even though I know the 3 of them will never jog let alone run ;) I just started yesterday doing a Leslie Sansone DVD, that's a great 3 mile work out. I'm down 4lbs for the month, only 10 more days till the end. I know I won't reach 170, but maybe 175:crossed: jigglefree 07-22-2010, 06:17 AM Good Day!! I'm back from our trip to New Orleans and some crazy work days. Been eating on plan and getting my workouts in. I've been so tired since we got back. But had an AMAZING time with the family. Next Saturday will be the measuring day and I want to be somewhere near or past my goals. :running: for every workout - 11 more workouts before goal...I think I can make it. :running::running::running::running::running: :running::running::running::running::running: :running::running::running::running: :hat: For ever 2 liter day :hat::hat::hat::hat::hat: :hat::hat::hat::hat::hat: Ok so my bday is on the 6th of August and I'm very excited. I will be 46 and throwing myself a party. I get really excited about birthdays and make sure I celebrate me, in case everyone else forgets I still get celebrated. No usually does because I remind them everyday for two weeks. jigglefree 07-24-2010, 06:58 PM Good evening ladies. I'm proud of myself today. I have been eating so on plan but I'm way below my calorie budget of 1400. Who cares...I may make up for it later this week. Been getting some unconventional workouts in but I'm getting them done. Hope everyone is having a great day...one week to go!!! :running: 1 for every workout :running::running::running::running::running: :running::running::running::running::running: :running::running::running::running::running: :hat: 1 for every two liter day :hat::hat::hat::hat::hat: :hat::hat::hat::hat::hat: :hat: love2b150 07-24-2010, 10:15 PM Back at cha Jiggle. I can't believe we only have one week left in July. But it does make me happy to know that I have done this for almost 2 full months. I am so proud of myself. Well take care enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone. weightlosswanted 07-26-2010, 07:45 AM Woo-hoo, I got to move my ticker! Down 2 lbs : ) Just one more and it will be 10lbs even since I started on 3fc. 14 lbs altogether. Still soooo far from my goal weight though : ( Lost track of my workouts so I'll go by whatever the log at the gym says. I have been pretty good about getting in extra walking or a swim on the days I don't get to do an actual workout. love2b150 07-26-2010, 08:40 AM That's great Kathi :) I'm up 1.4 from yesterday. So may have to move mine the other way :( Have a great day everyone :) jigglefree 07-26-2010, 02:35 PM Hey everyone. I'm feeling like a champ today. Still getting my workouts and water in. We are down to the last 5 days and I need 7 workouts...what to do??? Looks like there will be some doubling up on days because I will get to 25 workouts. Since nobody is checking in I've just been editing my workouts and water days. :running: for every workout :running::running::running::running::running: :running::running::running::running::running: :running::running::running::running::running: :running::running::running::running::running: :hat: for every two liter day :hat::hat::hat::hat::hat: :hat::hat::hat::hat::hat: :hat::hat::hat::hat::hat: weightlosswanted 07-29-2010, 05:26 PM Love2B150: I never move it back up, once I've seen a lower weight 3x that's it. I yo-yo so much I would have to change it everyday and it will discourage me. Walking in 120 degree heat should melt off the pounds I would think, especially as I'm drinking lots of water while I'm hopping the buses. Had a full bottle gone before I hit work today and just keep on drinking. I think that's why my weight went went back up while I had company. We stayed in or drove everywhere and I don't focus on drinking water as much as when I'm out in the heat. According to the log in at the gym I've got 18 workouts in : ) neurodoc 07-30-2010, 09:17 PM Ladies, really stupid question: how do you move your ticker? I can't seem to edit mine, only create a whole new one. JessLess 07-30-2010, 10:01 PM Goal #1 - Drink at least 1 liters of water daily. Goal #2 - Get down to 242 lbs or less. (I'm at 244 now) I feel pretty good. I exceeded my weightloss target and am at 241. I missed the liter a couple of times on weekends, but got it down 90% of the time. :carrot: love2b150 07-30-2010, 10:17 PM Kathi, I saw 176 but the last 4-5 days I've seen 178 so I figured stop looking at my lie and taunting myself until it decides to come back :D which it hasn't done. It had been really hot here and we were waiting to go out at 7:45-8:00 but we were pushing it trying to do 3 miles. And even though I go with my husband I'm afraid of what might come out of the woods at night. I love animals but they are only beautiful from a distance. Neurodoc, go to User CP and click edit signature and change the number. Not a stupid question, I had no idea how to do it either. :woohoo: JessLess, good for YOU!! :) lyv33 07-31-2010, 04:01 PM Well, I only lost 1 lb this month. I did start out by drinking more water, but the last couple of weeks have been very stressful with work. So, I am going to be happy with the 1 lb weight loss and overall loss of 12 lbs. I can't be unhappy about that. neurodoc 07-31-2010, 04:32 PM Ok, now I really really feel stupid. I simply can't edit my ticker. I can get to the "edit signature" box in the User CP area, but all I can do is move the whole ticker around, not change elements of it. How do I input a new weight? Thanks for helping the "slow girl." Andrea love2b150 07-31-2010, 04:42 PM Neurodoc, No you scroll don't until you see your actual link and then change the number. Again don't feel stupid I didn't scroll down either. love2b150 07-31-2010, 04:53 PM Well, I only lost 1 lb this month. I did start out by drinking more water, but the last couple of weeks have been very stressful with work. So, I am going to be happy with the 1 lb weight loss and overall loss of 12 lbs. I can't be unhappy about that. Hi lyv33, I am with you, I started out really well and some where I slacked off and it showed. I was upset that I wasn't losing like I wanted and was constantly told not to give up and don't discouraged. I just love 3FC. I lost 5lbs this month and 12.2 last month so I have a total loss of 17.2lbs and even though I am not jumping with joy. I can't complain because something is better than nothing. Have a great day and better luck to us both in August and the months to come  lyv33 07-31-2010, 10:34 PM Neurodoc, when you go to the edit signature page and you see the actual ticker- go down below it to the next box and you will see your 3 numbers xxx/xxx/xxx. This is where you change the number and save it. Then the ticker will automatically change. You don't really do anything to the actual ticker, just the numbers in the box below it. ange82much 08-01-2010, 01:26 PM Well i didn't really do as well in July as i wanted to! I think i will have gained a pound or two, not lost any. Chiefly due to an indulgent few days holiday. Not dared to get on the scales since.... I did manage a 10km run which i'm happy about though. Origianlly i wanted to do a few runs of this distance in July, but in reality my broken foot is still complaining if i do too much so i'm happy with having achieved my target but still been sensible on that one. Wow. It's August............. Rochester 08-01-2010, 01:31 PM The moment of truth. July has ended. So my three goals for the challenge were: :smoking: Quit smoking EPIC FAIL! :running: Work towards Week 6 of C25k. Did C25K W6D3 yesterday! 2 1/4 mile run with no walking! :cheer2: Week 7, here I come. :goodscale Lose 3-5 pounds. 224.6 to 221.3 = 3.3 pounds lost! love2b150 08-01-2010, 02:31 PM ~I'd like to get down to 170 not sure if that's possible so I will say I'd like to be 175 to 177 by July 31st. ~I'd love to start jogging but I am just barely able to walk 3 full miles. I have done it a few times, but if left up to me I would stop at 2 1/2 walking OK Ange & Rochester ... my turn ~~ I said 175-177, I made it to 178 and got stuck for the last week :) ~~ I didn't get to the jogging part but can easily walk 3 to 3.5 miles and have even gone 4 a couple of times Ready for you to set up the August Target thread :D Happy August to Ya  weightlosswanted 08-01-2010, 04:05 PM Hey Rochester, you hit 2 out of 3 - AWESOME! You'll get there with the smoking : ) Love2B: you might not have hit your goals, but you HAVE lost weight and are getting fitter. good job! Ange: the damage may not be as bad as you think. sorry to here the foot's still giving you issues. And running 10k even one time? You're my hero! According to the gym tally I got in 21 workouts, not including the extra walks and swimming I did on my days off. The scale went down then back up again. Just doing my yo-yo thing until the next whoosh. Hard to believe it's August already! One more month or maybe 6 weeks until the heat starts breaking, I hope! love2b150 08-01-2010, 04:26 PM Thanks Kathi :) Im On A Boat 08-01-2010, 08:25 PM Hi - my goals were: # 1 - Lose 7 pounds (184) # 2 - Quit smoking this month. I keep procrastinating. Ugh! ************************************************** **** # 1 - not so much, failed miserably, I think I lost 1 lb.for the whole month. # 2 - going fine. Not too disappointed but would have liked to lose a little more. love2b150 08-01-2010, 10:36 PM There's a new thread for August I don't know how to post links. But I found it under New Post. Thanks Ange :D neurodoc 08-02-2010, 06:01 PM My goals were: 1. to get "solidly" into the 130s (my weight bounces a lot from day to day, so it's hard to trust a particular number). GOAL MET. I haven't seen 140 on the scale in over 2 weeks. I am averaging 137. 2. To do a single unassisted pull-up/chin-up. GOAL NOT MET. I still can't, although I'm a bit closer (can get about halfway-two thirds to the bar before I fall back). New goals set for August. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
