I'm back from vacation, back on the fitness wagon, and trying to clean house from top to bottom and dreading the dust allergies.

Headed to the doc tomorrow for a round of bloodwork. I am interested to see if my Glucose challenge numbers will be good! Other than that, the scale isn't moving! But oh well. I am running 3/week + doing cardio dance and a bunch of other stuff. I know I am getting smaller, hubby told me so tonight!

Who wants to give me a nice swift kick in the behind to get me back on track??? LOL Ugh I'm back. June wasn't a good month at all. I completely shut down, just totally went into deep depression mode and with the help of my boyfriend and my
friends I'm doing so much better.
Nothing new going on. Had a very serious talk with my boyfriend about babies. He has major baby fever so, I'm here to ask for some motivation because I'm on a mission to lose 50lbs. That's to start off with. So starting Juky 1st I'm gonna get back on track and keep my future kids as a motivation in case I start to slip again.
How is everyone doing?? I missed you gals

HeatherMcG: GL with the lab results! And WTG on the fitness progress!
Nicoyaangel: Welcome back! I had started to wonder what had happened to you!
The house is looking better. I want to run one last load of laundry for the night and call it done for today.
I already "green clean" to minimize chemicals but I sometimes wonder if I should invest in a steam cleaner. Does anyone do that for PCOS? Try to minimize chemical exposure?

I can't remember when I started changing to green cleaning... maybe in the late 90's before my dx? I was trying to reduce hormone load and I knew that it could be in what we eat and come in contact with.
Here's one article that explains some of the chemicals that are encodrine (hormone) disruptors
http://www.natural-hormone-health.co...isruptors.html
I always figured that with PCOS, I less crap I come across, the better.
But it's only been recently with the unrelenting allergies that I've considered stepping up to a steam cleaner.

I've also got a follow-up with my doctor tomorrow to go over the blood work results from 2 weeks ago. It's been 7 years since my blood sugar was tested, and I hope that I haven't tipped over into diabetic or pre-diabetic levels. I'm a little nervous about it, but hopeful that the doctor and I can settle on a birth-control pill that's the best choice for me.
For July, I'm hoping that these next diet & exercise changes will become more routine. I have a few days off this week, so I'm hoping hubby & I can try some hiking those days & the weekend of the 10th.
I'm trying to really work on my journaling & letters for therapy this month as well. I need to get a much done as I can before August 30th, when my classes start. In two months I'll be back in school to get my Master's in Business Education, all while trying to work full time AND exercise, eek!
Maybe with all this newfound energy, I can get some stuff done around the house too.

clm72 -- have fun camping!
whencatsattack: GL with it! Sounds like a bunch of us are due for labs around now. WTG on working toward a masters too!
I just got done with my workout. I checked out Ellen Barrett in "Self: Bikini Ready Fast" which is a weight resistance workout. I enjoyed it even though it had a scratch that made it skip a bit. Now that I previewed it from the library I can buy my own copy later.
Food wasn't so good today -- too much cereal/bread because of a) heat and not wanting to cook and b) a friend coming over.
I like her but I've noticed that if she's around I veer too far off the food plan in being hospitable. I have to work on that.

Hi all!!
its been a whiiiilllllle since my last post on here didn't lose or gain weight at all since then.
Its been hectic for me @ the new job, I'm only there for 3 months come 11th of July and so far and I'm already handling 3 different positions!
Its tough but I want to get back on track with the weight loss. I'm still stuck around 221-220lbs still haven't seen the 199s yet and I want to be able to do that in July.
I want to at least reach 196 by end of July and lose 4-5 lbs every month if I can. My brother's wedding is in November so I want to look 'decent' by then lol
I miss you ladies & miss all the motivation on here.

Jiggly like you I can't seem to lose weight recently. Today's goal is to push myself to pull my bike out of the shed....loook at it and give it some TLC. Maybe I can get myself to even ride it even though my brain is saying that that is asking too much at the moment... A good day of outdoor activities should do me some good, hopefully one evening you can try to take an after dinner walk or a lunchtime walk outdoors....

I had a follow-up visit with my OBGYN today. Based on my bloodwork, he confirmed that I do indeed have insulin resistance and elevated testosterone levels. But I'm not diabetic, yay!
He is thrilled by the 10lb weight loss & thinks I'm doing great with my 50-55%C/25-30%P/20-25%F ratio. He didn't even put me on any medication because he said the weight loss & reduction of carbs would improve my IR faster & better than medication would. He also put me on a different BC pill (Sprintec?) to help regulate my testosterone level. He wants me to come back in 3 months for a check to make sure everything is OK.
He also stated that I should have never been put on Triphasic BC pills because those can really elevate the testosterone level in women with PCOS. I've been taking that type of BC pill ever since I was 18 (10 years almost). I was having irregular & heavy periods as a teenager, and taking this type of BC pill is probably what tipped me over into full-blow hormone wackiness.
I'm so happy I decided to change what I was eating 2 weeks ago. The thought of just now changing how I eat is a sad thought. 2 weeks has felt like 2 years in terms of my increased energy & mood.
Hubby & I are supposed to go hiking tomorrow on my day off. My thighs are a little sore from the core exercises I did yesterday, but I'm trying to walk that out a bit today. Hopefully they'll be ready for the hike. And then it's weigh-in on Friday. Cross your fingers!

Exercise today was taking my kid to the pool and trying to remember my water aerobics routine and doing as much as I could while she swam around me. Also did a DVD workout for weights.
Just had a weird moment. Remember how the last two TOMs I was having crazy cravings? Not too bad this time AND no urges for sweets. Some minor urges for raisin bran for breakfast but that's been about it. ( I don't normally do cereal.)
I wandered into the kitchen thinking about strawberry ice cream for dessert and took it out, looked at it, and thought "You know, smoothie would be better so I get more fruit exchanges in today."
Then I made a yogurt/blueberry/banana smoothie instead.
Emotionally I was happy with it, but mentally I was like WTF!? I never walk away from ice cream. What's my blood sugar?
It was 117 for a random check.
The only thing that's different is that I've been more diligent about taking a Rainbow Light Prenatal multi vitamin to make sure I have my iron up.
Weird.

Thats cool, Apost! It's nice to know that if you give the body what it needs its possible to get around all the crazy cravings we tend to get...
I'm happy to say today i got on my little bike and rode. 6.8 miles in about 40 minutes. I'm hoping it makes my weigh in less disappointing tomorrow. I was good as far as food today - maybe i'll ride again tomorrow.
