Good morning! And a very happy (late) birthday to you! *sigh* It's my birthday too (on Saturday) but I'm turning 27! :o Yikes! How did I ever get this old?

Glad to hear that you're alright what with Emmett "beating" you over the head and all! :) Good excuse to ask for an u/s though! Good luck getting it...

As for the swimming thing, that sounds great. Wish we lived close together, then we could go swimming together! :) I haven't been in ages, and you made me start thinking about going back to aquajogging. Hmmmm... I've even got a maternity swimsuit that's not too scary, so maybe I should ask my mom if she wants to start going again. Be good for both of us, I suspect! :)

She wouldn't give me another u/s, lol. Very likely I will have another one towards the end though, to check on size! I'm debating whether it's good to find out the sex that close. Gives us a few days to buy some pink jammies if need be, or call my friend for her girl clothes that she offered. And we can maybe decide on a NAME!! LOL.

My back is feeling a lot better. We have colds now, lol. It never ends!

Trying to do some walking every day still. I don't have my maternity suit back yet and am debating if I want to buy one for $15 and if I will actually go. It would be nice though...

Pamela

I did it! :D Mom and I went to aquajogging last night, and it felt awesome to get into the water! I am definitely going again! The funniest parts were trying to stay upright in the water (my belly kept wanting to surface!) and when I came up the stairs to get out of the water, and I could feel myself getting soooooooooo heavy!

Sorry you didn't get your extra u/s... ;) Hopefully you'll still get a chance to take a peak! I kno wwhat you mean about the name thing though... we're set for a girl, but we're still really wavering on boys names! :smug: Could be "baby boy" for a little while!

Ooh glad the aquajogging went well!! I might have to spend the $15 on a suit and go, especially now that my friend/doula isn't leaving me for a whole month. I won't go alone. I'm scared to even go up and down stairs right now!!!
I did a lot of walking this week, I'm really proud of myself. I broke down and bought maternity jeans (it's been in the 40's after being in the 80's LAST WEEKEND, lol) and they're a size 12!! With room!!! I busted out of so many sizes with Em...

We're still not feeling so hot here. I wish we could boost up our immunities good. I had been giving him echinachea before this cold, maybe it shortened it? He threw up in the night though, but I think it was cause he was stealing cookies at a friend's house and had too many. Poor kid:(.

Congrats on the jeans! :) Size 12? You must be soooo proud! Oh, and I definitely recommend going to the pool, if for nothing else but the weightlessness! I can't wait to go again tomorrow night!

Wishing you guys better health!

Haha, dh is sick now!! Poor man. He did 2 overnight shifts this weekend, and was supposed to do his reg shift today (until 2:30 pm) and came in at 8:30 am. Nasty stomach bug going through his work. I'm just praying a lot and washing mine and Emmett's hands!!! LOL. It's not funny, really.

Did you have a good birthday?? Happy belated birthday!!
In Christ,
Pamela

10-09-2002, 12:09 PM
Ack! Your poor DH! :) You keep on washing and praying! You sure don't need to be sick again! ;)

My birthday was sort of boring... DH and I went to the city, did a little shopping, went for an awesome dinner (yum!) and then we were going to see a movie, but were too late, so we went o Walmart instead! We bought Monsters Inc, and took it home to watch... it was such a cute movie, have you seen it? Anyway, it was nice to spend so much time with DH...

Had my aquajogging class last night, and it was great, except for the shortness of breath and the heartburn! :( Finally realized, about halfway through, that maybe wearing the belt under my belly wasn't the best idea... so I switched to right under my chest, and it was tons better! I had heartburn again last night when I laid on my left side... ah, the joys of pregnancy!

Dh is much better now! My dad got it later this week. I think I was getting it but I prayed against it and I was fine, whew!! LOL. Ugh, the heartburn. I hate it. Today I took Em out errand running and pushing the carts just killed my back! I can't believe that that is such a struggle.

Can you believe I have not seen Monsters Inc yet!?? I've wanted to forever! We're thinking of getting Em a bunch of DVD's for Christmas to entertain him when I need to take care of the new baby (isn't that terrible???) and I'm thinking about that one.

It sounds like you had a fun birthday though!!
In Christ,
Pamela

10-15-2002, 04:45 PM
Oh, absolutely get Monsters Inc! You and your dh will enjoy that one too! :)

I feel your pain! Literally! ;) Finally got the nursery painted this weekend, and the crib set up, but boy, did it do a number on my muscles, which are still screaming! Good thing it's all for a good cause! Anyway, I'm taking this week off of aquajogging because of my muscle pain and my lack of sleep, but hopefully, I can get moving with other things... like decorating and doing laundry! :p

tupo_girl
10-16-2002, 02:31 AM
Well at least your nursery is done! I have no idea what to do with that. Em's in his crib with the side off (it converted). Maybe I should just buy another crib?? But then I'm scared Em would be in it all the time. I dunno. The baby will sleep somewhere I'm sure!

I think I will get Monsters Inc, hehe. I need to start Christmas shopping. The whole thing is soooooooo surreal, LOL.

I know! I gotta get moving too, since I want to have ALL of my Christmas shoppig done by the beginning of December, which is less than a month and a half away now! :o I'm probably about 1/3 done as of right now....

I've been lazy this week... have had 4 terrible nights of sleep in a row, and am looking forward to the weekend, though it's gonna be a busy one too! So much to do, so little time!

I'm gonna have to cut back on the excercise. Whenever I try walking, picking up toys, unloading the dishwasher, I start getting contractions. A lot of them. I notice they start up when I'm active or stressed. I don't want to be put on bed rest! I go in next week.

Thankfully, we got most of Em's Christmas shopping done this weekend. And with him, LOL. He's getting a slide and a big truck (good, good sale at Toys R Us!!) so now I just need to get him some stocking things, probably a coloring book, an apple and some M&M's. He's only 2.

I just need to control my eating very well now...

Hey girls... mind if I join?

Back on my regular board (I believe Pamela was over there originally too?), "Doin it the old fashioned way," I was pointed over here because of my prego status! At first I questioned this, because I am so far from an 'everyday exerciser' that I figured my presence here would be a good laugh ;) But after checking it out, I found that it was nice to actually see conversations among pregnant folx here.. the pregnant and staying fit thread is SO slow!!

The thing is, I'm a non-exerciser now that I'm pregnant.. and I keep saying I'm going to change that and start moving! But, tomorrow I'll be 27 weeks (due Jan 23, 2003) and so far, I'm still being lazy! Eeep! I've gained 28 pounds already so I really should get on the ball, before I'm too large to get started :(

So, I hope you don't mind my butting in here... ?

Christine :)

Hi Christine, Welcome!
Hmm, I think I did used to go to that board! It sounds familiar!
Your due date isn't too far from ours. I feel much better about my weight this time than with ds. I gained a total of 61 pounds with him. It was *everywhere*. I've been looking at my postpartum pics with him and I'm just shocked. I still had 10 pounds to lose before I got pregnant this time, but I was in a smaller pant size than before ds. I've gained about 29 pounds at 33 weeks. I think making a point to do some sort of excercise every day really does help, even if it's just some plies or arm excercises or walking in place!!

I'm feeling much better today!! Got a lot done in the house and dh and I did some walking before the concert we went to tonight. I didn't really get contractions until before bedtime, so that's why I'm here now.
In Christ,
Pamela

Hi Christine! Welcome to our group, and congrats on your pregnancy! :) I'm far from an everyday exerciser now too, simply because of fatigue and laziness! ;)

Basically, I just try to fit in little things, like parking further from my destination, and such... plus, I try to get to aquajogging class once a week or so... went on Tuesday, and the water was wonderful! I highly recommend swimming, especially since it lifts the weight off of you! I'm at 31.5 weeks, due Dec 23... and I'm up 24 (I think?) pounds...

Pamela ~ Sorry to hear your having bad contractions! Hopefully you can avoid strict bedrest, but if it happens, well, we'll deal with it if it comes, right? ;) Good for you getting the Christmas shopping done though... I'm still working on mine, but as long as I get it done by the beginning of Dec I'll be happy!

Thanks, Marvin. I just put some heat on my back and that helped stop them. I'm very curious about my appointment on Tuesday. I'm so glad it's with a certain midwife, she's so sweet. I had 3, but one left. I like all of them, but this one in particular is very motherly and caring. I hope she delivers me. Getting nervous about the weight though. I know I'll be fine if I can control the eating, which I feel like has gotten away from me a little this week. Not too bad, but I can't remember what I eat! Not much longer though...

In Christ,
Pamela

Whoa! Wednesday already! ;) Can't believe how fast this time is flying!

How was your appt yesterday? Hope that all is well.. you're right though, not much longer now! You're what, 34 weeks now?

Me, feeling alright, but tired and stiff... not that I'm doing much of anything to deserve sore muscles! Just busy running around, and totally looking forward to the weekend. Also, looking forward to the end of the month, which is when I start my leave! Yay! :smug:

It went pretty well! I'm trying not to freak out about my weight, but I'm going to ditch the sweets after Halloween. I tried to today, but you know, chocolate really has some calming properties!

The contractions have slowed quite a bit, so I'm getting a bit more active. I still get them a bit in the evening when it gets stressful, but my hubby's been good about helping me out a lot then.

I'm not dilated at all, baby's head down, got a flu shot, all sorts of good things, hehe. I'm so looking forward to it!! 6 more weeks!!

Awesome about you starting maternity leave soon:). You can 'nest'.

Pamela

Gees! Long time, no talk to! :o I've been pretty bad with getting online, sorry! I suppose it won't get much better after the baby's here, eh?

Everything is still going well here... achey, tired, and crabby, but that's to be expected in the home stretch, isn't it? ;) Less than 7 weeks for me now! (5 for you, right?) :p

tupo_girl
11-07-2002, 02:41 AM
Yay for us!! I say 5-7 for me, just in case this one is poky like Em! Emmett has the chicken pox right now!! It's crazy, but kind of good. We just lay on the couch and cuddle and watch videos. I'm kind of glad to have this with him right now before the baby gets here. Usually he's too busy to cuddle with!

I'm jealous girls.. I still have 11 weeks to go and that's only if baby is on time (last one was 2 weeks late and I had to be induced).

Had an appointment Monday and I'm up 30 pounds :( Yuck! Could be worse though! Otherwise everything is looking good. Unfortunately they were not sympathetic to my request for another ultrasound (the first one was a mere 3 minutes long and did not satisfy me in the least.. how do they check everything in 3 minutes!? I didn't get to find out the sex either).

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know I'm still here and reading.. just don't know what to say really.. so I've been quiet :)

Haha, Christine, I know what you mean. It takes me 5 minutes to get up from anywhere and excercise?? I count lugging my 2 year old around as excercise. That's really stinky about your u/s! I keep dreaming this one is a girl, since we were unable to find out at ours.

Sooooooo, I failed my 2nd 1 hour glucose test. Gotta do the 3 hour. I've been eating so bad, especially with the sweets. Maybe this is a good wake up call. And if I do have it, maybe I won't end up with such a large baby this time if they all know it!
In Christ,
Pamela

11-12-2002, 01:14 PM
Ugh! You want me to exercise! Seriously, the most I do is run around the house, trying to get it into some semblance of order! ;)

Pamela ~ Sucks you have to do the 3 hr GTT! Sorry about that! Hopefully, all is well... just cut back on those sweets! Easier said than done right, especially with the halloween candies, just lying around screaming Eat Me!

Christine ~ A 3 minute u/s? What a ripoff! Gees, my "big" one at 18 weeks was about 45 minutes long... Hopefully you get the chance to have another peak at the little one. Try not to fret too much about the weight gain though, kay? I'm up about 30 lbs too, and it's more than I wanted to gain. But, over all the real goal is a healthy babe, so I'll take the good with the bad... just means that much more hard work after the baby's here!

I've gained at least 35 pounds *avoids scale like the plague*. I have a terrible cold so don't wanna go in and do the test cause I think being sick can affect your blood sugar! I've been doing a lot better with the sweets, but tonight, oh tonight...we went to a concert and swung by Denny's on the way home. One of our good friends was working there and brought us each a free choc milk shake with strawberries and bananas! I keep telling myself it has milk and fruit, LOL. I drank the whole thing!

I *did* go for a walk today, it felt soooooo good. Gonna try and just go around the neighborhood once a day (it's not too big). Just getting down the driveway for the mail is a workout;).

Not too much else, except the waiting, waiting, waiting!! Urgh!

Hi Marvin and Pam: I have not been on here for a few months and just logged on to see how you two are doing with your pregnancies and health.

Christine, I see you've joined this group. I am NOT expecting - way past that. I have a 12 year old. But I still like to get on here since I've been posting with the Every Day excercisers for a while.

I have not been much of an every-day excerciser since we closed our pool for the summer. I'd say it's more like twice a week. I did get on our eliptical trainer yesterday and did some situps. Hopefully I can make myself do some yoga today. I miss it. I haven't done it for about a month.

Well, it was good to read your posts and catch up a bit. I hope everyone has a good week!

Argh went in for false labor the other night! 3 more weeks to go, it's a workout to get the phone, LOL.

11-25-2002, 01:18 PM
Whew! Am I really 36 weeks along today? :dizzy:

Pamela ~ Sorry to hear about the false labor! Here's hoping it turns into the real thing pretty soon! You have got to be getting tired! (Like I am! )

Stamper ~ Good to see you! :) Glad that you haven't given up altogether! It's hard to make that transition to "winter" exercise, isn't it? Just keep movin' girl!

Probably won't be in much for this last month... as Friday is my last day at work, and I'll be on my ever-so-slow dial up connection at home from now on. Don't worry though, I'll check in! Gotta keep up to date on Pamela's little one, and let you know when my little one arrives too! :smug:

Ooh, you're done with work, yay! I can't believe I'll be 38 weeks tomorrow! I'm so frustrated with everything in my life right now, but still enjoying the baby being in there. I wish me and him/her could just take off somewhere for awhile. Hehe. Life should be more chaotic soon, LOL.

11-29-2002, 01:11 PM
Yay! Today is my last day! ;)

Just wanted to check in and post for the last time from here... gonna miss this high-speed connection, let me tell you that much! :D Oh well, at least I'll be home, where hopefully I can get some rest in, and *try* to get "ready" for this huge life-changing event about to happen to me....

Pamela ~ 38 weeks, huh? Can't believe that we're this far! :p Anyway, regardless, I hope you have a wonderful, easy delivery.. with an adorable little one to add joy to your life... *sniff*

Okay, getting teary again.. gotta go!

Wow! Congratulations everyone. It's baby city.

I used to log in here a lot about a year ago ~ but then kind of hid for a year while having my own baby. He's a first for me too. Now I am trying to shed all those baby lbs and get back into exercising.

Let's strap on those baby carriers and get walking!

My son (Wil) is 12 weeks old and has a strong enough neck that I have started using him as a weight. I lie on my back and do baby bench presses. He's only 11 lbs - but he's growing fast. I need to get those lbs off of me and onto him.

tupo_girl
12-09-2002, 02:26 PM
Morrigan, good to see you again! Congrats on your little one!

I'm 40 weeks on Wed and we're going for an ultrasound today to see how big this one is (ds was over 10 pounds!). I did a lot of walking the past couple of days. I kind of have to or else baby stays way too high. Took yesterday off cause my back was hurting. It's really nice here today though, 33 degrees!, so I might attempt a walk later.

I hope I have good news later this week!

Quillan McKell was born on Dec 19 at 2:34 pm. He weighed 9 pounds, 14 oz and was 22.5 inches long. I had a 5 hour, all natural labor which was a really amazing experience:). He's a real sweetheart.

Congrats!! :cp: Sounds like your labor and delivery went pretty smoothly!

I knew someone here had to be having a baby by now but when I checked in the other day, nothing!

I'm only 3 1/2 weeks from due now :)

Enjoy your new addition!! I can't wait for mine :)
