General Diet Plans and Questions - Anyone up for another BodyBugg/GWF/Sensewear etc. challenge?

Hi everyone,

I was so inspired by your summer challenge (ended early June) and at the same time sooo sad that I had missed out. For once, rather than sit on my lovely behind and wait for someone else to start a challenge, I thought I'd start one myself - and of course anyone is more than welcome to join in (and please do! It will be very lonely, and not to mention boring without you!)

I've had my GWF for about 6 months but have never really pushed myself to use it properly. About 4 days ago I put my GWF on for the first time in literally months, and I am going well so far. Here's to challenging myself to finally get in shape and stay that way! ;)

If anyone else is up for joining the challenge, I thought we could basically follow the same plan that the previous challengers used i.e.

Rules of the challenge are:
(1) We will post our stats weekly on Wednesdays, starting June 23rd
(2) The challenge period ends October 20th - 17 weeks
(3) We will motivate each other
(4) We will have fun! :dizzy:

I live in Australia aka 'the future' - i.e. it's already Wednesday here. So I will get the ball rolling with my stats.

Current weight: 142.4 lb
Goal weight: 125.4 lb
Challenge goal: 17 lb i.e. 1 lb per wk.. I think it's something I can sustain :)

Hi nurse2be! I ordered mine from the 24 Hour Fitness site. It was $229 for both the BodyBugg and the digital display that you wear on your wrist, plus six months of access to their site. There was a coupon code to use (AFPBGD1) which made it a little cheaper. I don't know if you can possibly just go to 24 Hour Fitness and buy one there.

Good Morning all!! I am reluctantly posting my first week challenge numbers. Today is the last day of my second week wearing my GWF. Week 1 was good, but week 2 has been disappointing. Despite what should be a 1.5lb lose based on my GWF numbers, I actually have gained. I am hoping it is a TOM thing! :)

Current weight: 270 lb
Goal weight: 140 lb
Challenge goal: 249 lb (approx 1.25 lbs/wk)

Hey Ladies,
I love my GoWear Fit! I have lost 22lbs since I've recieved it in the mail on May 7th. It keeps me pumped and on track. I try to consume 1300-1500 calories a day. My calories burned is 2500 but I usually burn close to 4000 when I am working and on my days off I burn 3000. I have had nothing but success since wearing it. I hope u guys r having nothing but success too.

Start Weight: 233
Goal Weight: 160
Challenge Goal: 43lb loss making that 190lbs
I am so gonna cross my fingers for that goal and work my butt off hard.lol

Thank you vegandelite, I can't wait to get it. It is in the UPS system and I'm following it, hopefully it will be here soon. I was at a Tom Petty concert last night with my daughter and we were dancing the entire time and I was thinking, I wonder how many calories I'm burning? With the bodybugg I will know! I'm such a geek when it comes to gadgets, and I saw it has an iPhone app so that is going to be fun!

Nurse2be, did you get one ordered?

** I just finished my 4th week wearing my GWF! I am loving it. I was slow to lose at first, I think my body was in shock. It seems once my body realized I wasnt going to starve it, the weight loss just kicked in. YEA!!

I lost .5 a lb. Which is great but ladies I am slightly frustrated. I overestimated my calories when in doubt and I only started wearing my GWF on 7/6/40 but my defecit is 5078 so only .5 lb? Anyways I will keep on trucking. I jogged/briskly walked 2 miles in 30 min tonight :carrot:. I am training for a 5k in September. I hope to be jogging the entire 3.1 miles by then. Michelle ... keep going!! Since you just started wearing your GWF give it a few weeks. The 2nd week I wore mine, I gained 3 lbs even though the GWF numbers said I should have lost 1.5. I just finished week 5 of wearing my GWF and I am now 3 lbs ahead (or more lost) of where my GWF says I should be. In your case it is most likely water weight, and even the clothes you weigh in can affect the scales. This morning I weighed in a shirt that I dont normally weigh in and it added an extra pound! YUKE!! Needless to say, I changed back into the clothes I normally weigh in and the weight look much better. Also be careful with over-estimating your calorie intake. I tend to do the same, but if you are going to do that, you need to make sure that you are still eating a reasonable amount of calories. If you estimate 1000 but you are only eating 900, then your body will feel starved. If you are training for a 5k make sure you are eating enough calories. Congrats on the training for the run!! Wow, 2 miles in 30 mins is wonderful.. LOL Its all I can do to go 2 miles in an hour, but I'm trying! Good Luck!! :)
