GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there are two of them today. I really like the first one, but both are good!!
How many times must you fall and then get back up before reaching the goal? Do it as many times as it takes.
Do you really want to stay down after you've stumbled? Wouldn't you rather get back up and get back on your way? Sure, it hurts when you fall, but staying down and giving up will not ease that hurt one little bit. Getting up and going forward is what will move you past the pain and the disappointment.
If you've been pushed down by difficult obstacles, then you have already paid some of the price of success. So by all means move on ahead to where you can collect the reward.
Persistence can indeed be difficult. Yet failing to persist will put you in an even more intolerably difficult position of defeat and dismay. When you've fallen, get back up quickly and enthusiastically, knowing you've just taken a valuable and important step forward on the road to success.
- Ralph Marston

POSITIVE LIVING
Living positively is more than just repeating a few upbeat slogans. Living positively is done with your actions. It's more than just something you do on the days when everything is going right. The real power of positive living comes on the days when everything seems to be going against you.
There is always something you can do to add positive value to your own life and to the world around you. Even when life does not seem to be cooperating, there is always something positive you can do.
The small but consistent acts of positive value, repeated again and again, are what bring real and lasting treasures to life. These come in the moments when you choose discipline over temptation, when you choose kindness over cruelty or indifference, when you choose faith over despair.
Such positive choices are always available to you, regardless of the circumstances of the moment. Make those positive choices, the big ones and the little ones, every chance you get, and they'll add up to something great.

QUICKIE!:D
I'll have to catch up with posting later this evening. I have to get the kids to school, hopefully get in my run (it's now raining) and then get ready to go back to the school to help with a mailing for Michael's academy and probably won't come back home before the kids get out of school, then Michael has guitar, so, afterwards, I'll try my darndest to get caught up. Until then, thinking about you all and hope you had a great weekend!!

Another week! Wow! Sometimes I wonder why I want to rush through the days so it can be the weekend! I am getting too old to want my life to hurry up and pass me by! :D
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was peachy keen. We did not do much, but it was relaxing for me. :twirly:
Yesterday, my son in law, the chef, :chef: came over and made puff pastry in my kitchen. He made a batch for me using all whole wheat pastry flour. I can't wait to try using it! I am thinking apple strudel made with agave, :apple: or something like that! Yum!
Maybe I will use a part of it to make beef :moo: or salmon Wellingtons...
I have no great motivational thing to put on here. Just want to encourage you each to love  yourself enough to take care of yourself, and feed yourself with nutritious, healthy foods. They will help you feel your best, both physically and emotionally. You are worth it! I am thankful for each and everyone one of you, and the wonderful friendship and support you all give to one another. Have a great week! :goodvibes:

Morning Ya'll!!
Booger---ummm, that sounds yummy!!!
Well, i was bad yesterday. Went to a tailgate party and had wedding cake. Yes, you read that right. Got some diehard fans here in Titan land. Even though they SUCK!!
I can really tell when i cheat with this WOE!! I feel all blahhh the next day!!
Hope everyone is doing well---gotta take my doggie(max) to the vet. He is favoring a leg. He's never been hurt or sick--so, this should be FUN!-HE HATES THE VET!! Of course, what dog likes the vet??
Well, motivational Monday. I guess my input is i really feel good on this plan, even though i don't stick to it all the time. I've lost 9 pounds and am feeling great!!

Hi Everyone!
I don't have a quote for MM, but I hope my enthusiasm will be contagious. I did a bunch of reading on the net yesterday and it seems that exercise and a low glycemic index WOE is one of the best ways for me to get my PCOS under control.
I just HAVE to eat this way in order to feel good physically and mentally. I know if I eat too much bad stuff that I feel all bloated and crappy and it also makes me sluggish. I don't want to feel that way any more.
So thanks to my few email buddies and all my reading, I have REcommitted myself to making myself healthier. I am worth it. We ALL are. And if I'm not well, I'm no good to my family.
I still think that right now it's better for me to have just a few one on one buddies, seems to keep me more accountable. I know this board is full of support and I am going to try to stop in more often than I have been; I just get kind of overwhelmed with all the activity here:dizzy:
I agree with MONET when she says "I am thankful for each and everyone one of you, and the wonderful friendship and support you all give to one another." I skim the boards to keep up with you all.
So let's all have a GREAT OP day!

Monday. I am having a hard time waking up today. I think I could go back to bed and sleep all day. Not a good sign--this is the way I feel when I'm about to get sick. I've been feeling the allergy season coming on for about a week now.
Miss Belle and I celebrated our first anniversary yesterday! She came to live with me after my yard sale on the 29th last year. I had time to reflect what a good companion she has been to me over the last year. I am very thankful that we found each other. Last night she climbed onto my shoulder and was purring and nuzzling with me in the sweetest way--like she knew!
Looks like it was a good football weekend for everyone but Jack-K! . Auburn was playing until the wee hours of the morning before they could pull out the win! My NC State did well against UMass. Auburn and State have the week off next Saturday--so I'll be looking for other teams to root for!
I've got to try to have a good week this week. My schedule is such that I find myself making compromises all the time--and I can't do that. I made some applesauce this weekend. I just cut up some apples, put a little water in the pot, some agave and some apple pie spice and let it simmer. Boy was it good! My mother spoiled me with homemade apple sauce all my life and now I can't do the stuff in a jar. I hadn't made any in a long time--but with the agave it tastes just like my mom's! Good stuff!
Have a good week everyone!

Happy Monday To All!
Hope everyone is feelign chipper today. I am actually feeling better today. I think the sinus thing is about cleared up. Still coughing from the drainage. But things are looking up.
We got all the carpet pad out of ur basement and hugh fans blowing the carpet dry. Not too much was ruined. DD school books from last year (like she would ever look at them again anyway). My DH year book from his senior year, all mine were ok. He doesn't really care about it anyway. Now just to get it cleaned and the carpet relaid. It's always something. I just hope Lili doesn't come through and bring more rain my way. Dh is leaving Friday for Canada to duck hunt and I really don't like dealing with stuff on my own.
Since I couldn't get on the computer all weekend, I am really behind on posts:
Zanne, I'm going to check out the black bean hummus. Never tried it. Glad you have recommited to this WOE. I think it's the best.
Deb, A sump pump is a pump in a well type hole in the basement, that pumps out the ground water when it is excessive. Our (and several other people in the neighborhood) didn't come on. The float on ours was stuck. Once he jiggled it, it came right on and pumped out all the standing water. Going to look for that pot pie. My family loves them. Really liked the first MM message. I think we can all relate to that.
TV, Sure we missed you. Glad you could drop in. Glad you are back on the wagon and the scale is moving in the right direction. You gotta stay in here or that scale goes crazy. Welcome back!
Fillise, Sounds like a nice reunion with Frog. Can't wait to see the pics. How sweet Miss Belle is. I bet she knew.
Cherylco, Glad you are back. How is your mom doing? Better I hope. Awesome about the 4 lbs. Especially with all your stress. Isn't it great about the sizes. I almost think that is better than the scale going down. It sure is some good motivation. How wonderful you DD is doing SB. She will love her clothes fitting loser and loser and wearing cute things. Congrats to her.
Thunder1, You sound like me. I get bored so easily. I have to have something planned at all times. Hope you found soemthing to occupy your time. (hope it wasn't food).
Heartmom, The pics are simply adorable. Hope Boogie's cold is better.
Yellowrose, What you describe doesn't sound bad to me. Maybe drop down to 1 or 2 carbs a day and see if that helps for awhile.
Gracious, Have anice visit with your family.
Fruit, Hope you are feeling better. I sure hope Lili fades out and doesn't take the same trip. Stay dry and safe.
Bob, Thanks for pulling for the CATS. Yes it was a nail biter. I actually think we could have won that game if we hadn't shot our self in the foot so many times. At least it was close. WW? Not doing SB? Gotta do what works for you. Good luck.
Red1, I think my computer is ok. I turned it on and it came up. Sent it to college with DD. Hers was too slow for some internet connection they needed. Good ole mom, does w/o again. Hope your funk is better. Sending prayers for your DD. My DN just went through the same thing. In fact the alimony and stuff has been going on for 2 years and still isn't settled. He is a no good ...... The girls don't even like going to visit him.
JRed, Glad to hear from you. Sounds like you are going non-stop. Drop in when you can.
Monet, Hi!. Hope you are not getting more rain. Now I'm craving apple strudel. Send me some will ya?? It must be nice to have a chef in the family. What a sweet MM thougt.
Gator, We almost pulled it off. Yes, your special teams did stink! I think we really hurt ourselves. We should have won. Oh well, at least it wasn't a runaway. Sorry to hear about your friend.
Debyj, I agree with you, eat something off plan and the next day you feel yucky. Think it would deter us wouldn't you??? The Titans may stink, but they look good in those uniforms.
Have a good day everyone. Let's have a great week OP and see some positive results.

I'm with you on feeling the brunt of eating wrong.
I ate 2, yes 2, illegal pizzas on separate days), and a really illegal caramel sundae this weekend.
I feel like I want to puke. I've been having heartburn and sour stomach all night. I will have no carbs for a couple days and see if I can do some damage control on my stupidity.

(((hugzz))):grouphug: We had a great weekend. So busy I found it hard to find time to walk or do any exercise. But I did get a 35 minute walk in yesterday. So not too bad. Will probably miss a few days this week with it being vacation. But if I get out at least every other day to do something I will be happy.
I agree Jack-K we have to use something besides the scales to determine how good we are doing. I am constantly between 154-156 since April....but yesterday I put on some 30's that use to be skin tight and they fit nicely. And my tightest pair of pants is now a perfect fit. But I'm the first one to admit...when those scales bounce up to 156 I start frettin'. Glad you didn't lose too much when the pump went out. Our house use to flood when I was a teenager. Not a basement...but everytime we had flash floods it got hit. About 10 or 11 times I think. No fun to have your stuff ruined.
Cherlco...you'll do great. Don't let the cheats think they got ya cause they don't. You can get right back on track.
Fillisie...praying you aren't getting sick...just need to have a lazy day. :) I love lazy days....where you just kinda lay around and do nothing...kinda hard to find with five kids...well four now..my son lives with my sister as he prepares to go out on his own. Man...I am so not ready for that. I wonder if I'll ever be really ready for them to be grown and out on their own.
Monet....yum. What a treat to have a son in law that's a chef. Especially on willing you to make you goodies.
Zanne..thanks for your encouragment and excitement. It is contagious to see someone so motivated and excited about being OP.
I'm sure I've missed half of you wonderful ladies this morning but the kids are STARVING...or so they think. :)
Have a SUPER day!!!!!!! Stay strong and encouraged.

Hope all of you ladies had a nice week end. It's a beautiful day here in SW LA. Have to work evening shift today, so had a chance to sit down & catch up on the posts & do some replies. Sorry I don't get to do that too often these days.
Debelli, Loved the MM's. That is sooo true, once we stumble & fall, if we just stay where we are, then we're definely defeated. We have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off & get back into the fight, back on the wagon, back in the game, & definitely back to the right WOE. I do fail over & over, cause I see it on the scale. I know what I'm doing when I do it, but I rationalize & say that I've earned the right to eat off plan, after all, haven't I lost 60 lbs? But then afterwards I realize & admit that even though I did loose the weight, if I continue to cheat, then I'm only hurting myself. I've worked too hard to let that happen too often.
BTW, exactly when is this Orlando get to gether in Jan 2003????
Monet, You are so right about the way we live fast, rushing through life to get where? Our days are going fast enough & we NEED to slow down, enjoy life, family & friends! Your idea for apple strudel made with agave sounds great. Enjoy your WW puff pastries! Such a sweet SIL to do those for you.
debyj, Tailgaiting & wedding cake? Hummm, sounds like an unusal combination. ;) Yes, you have done well to lose 9 lbs. Keep up the good work. I agree, we sure do feel it when we eat off plan & it's not a good feeling.
Zanne Glad to hear of your "REcommittment" to this WOE & staying healthy. All too often, I also "scan" the board to find that the posts are so overwhelming that I can't respond. I try to read the entries & see if anyone has addressed me but don't have the time to sit & respond to much. It's not that I don't want to, just don't have the time mostly. But I do appreciate all the support & friendships here so I certainly don't want to stay away either!
FILLISE, Happy anniverary to you & Miss Belle. It's so nice to have a warm loving companion that does't make too many demands of you, huh? ;) So glad to hear that your Home Party with Frog Friday night went well. Sounds like Frog is REALLY busy! Glad to hear that her venture in this business is going well.
Jack-K Glad to hear that you are feeling better from your sinus problem. I'm afraid mine is not cleared yet, however, I am finally bringing up the nastiest stuff! My voice is almost back to normal, but still croakey. I have a pain in my right cheeck that at first felt like an abcess in my upper gums, but it seems to be coming from my sinus cavity. Can't really explain it other than it hurts, especially when I try to blow my nose. The pain increses in my right cheek & right nostil when I push on the left nostril. How strange is that? Anyway, the coughing is not better either. I coughed till I vomited yesterday. Sure doesn't help with the headache either.
TVthatsME Great to see you posting again. You've been missed! Hope your trip to Orlando goes well with good weather for you. I will be leaving Oct 4th also, but will be heading to Texas, Oklahoma, then Arkansas. Will be a fast moving week, but DH will get a chance to see his brother & sister that he doesn't get to see very often.
cherylco, Wow, you are doing soooooo great:dance: And your DD too! That is wonderful. I know you must be so proud of her for making this committment to this WOE also. Hope your mom has a speedy recovery!
Heartmom, Your kids so real cuties!!You mentioned next Friday when you spoke of Boogie...is that when his surgery will be?? Will be praying that all goes well.
YellowRose, Sorry to hear that your weight is creeping back up. Right now, before you go any further, set yourself a limit! Do not allow yourself to get any further behind than you are right now. Face the scale & determine that you will not do anything to cause it to go up. You WANT to go down! Then re-evaluate the way that you have been eating. Debbie always talks about journaling. Even though I don't do this regually, I think it's a great idea cause it will put the truth right there in front of you. Sorry for being so rough on you, but that is my wake up call to myself when I'm out of control. You can do it!
My limit is 140. My lowest weight has been 132, but have only seen that weight for a short time. My goal was 135 which I reached, but I had lowered it to 130 which I thought was a good idea at the time. I'm not saying that I will never reach that, but at this time, I'm not real sure that I should aim for 130 because 133 seems to be my comfortable & obtaiable weight.
Swiss Chard from the garden and baked sweet potato..Yummm. That does sound great. DH usually plants swiss chard & we love it, but I'm not sure if he has any growing yet or not.
fruitloupe, You're so right. We do need to keep an eye opened for LILI. Hoping & praying that it does not become as much of a rain storm as Issy brought to everyone in it's path. Please be careful of the mosquitoes. With all this rain & standing water, they are saying the possiblity of a great epidemic of the West Nile Virus is present.
BOB, You & your cousin are raising the age for your goal eh?? You are just too funny. I do so hope to meet you one day :D
Red1, So glad to see you posting again! Oh, to be 75 degrees & NO humidity! :D That is just beyond my imagination. LOL My thoughts & prayers to you & your DD for a positive outcome to the court day Wed. It's hard enough when a parent choses to not see his child, but now to be told by the court that your DGD has to be allowed to visit this parent who has not been a part of her life....well, I think I can understand why you've been down. {{{HUGS & PRAYERS}}}
j red, Sounds like a really hectic schedule you have going there. Hope you don't get over-whelmed with it all & can keep up. No cooking sounds great to me, but I find when I'm in the no cooking mood, I tend to overdo on illegal stuff.
Gatorgal Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. My prayers for you & his family. I had a patient this week end that is only 49 & is dying of cancer. He has not taken care of himself & waited till it was too late before going to the doc. I first saw him about 2 weeks ago when he came for a biopsy of a mass in his neck. He is really struggling to breathe, can't eat, & is soooo skinny. I had to give him an injection yesterday & was actually afraid to because I knew I would hit the bone. Couldn't even insert a 1" needle fully into the largest hip muscle before striking bone. I could have cried when i saw how much he had deteriorated in the past 2 weeks.
CountryMom4Him, Enjoy your vacation!
Rosemary, fortytude, Sorry to hear that you have also been sick with this crud! Congrats on your 3 lb lose! And yes, I also agree with you... WE ARE WORTH IT! We must accept ourselves for who we are & how we are before we can change for the better.
Well gals, will try to get back before I go to work, but in case I don't, have a great day!

Well here I am. Got kind of discouraged last week after gaining a pound and not having my own computer so fell behind. But here I am again pulling my self up by the boot strings and posting once again. I've stuck to SB and did some walking at the campground here in the evenings. My DH had a job interview in Kansas, about 5 or 6 hours from here today so he has my car. I've got a pot of brown beans and ham cooking for dinner so if he comes home late its easy to heat up. I'll probably walk this evening on my treadmill...
Monet- Can't wait to hear what you make from your puff pastry...
debj- Those tailgate parties sound dangerous, LOL.....
Zanne- Wish you well on your recommittment!!!
Fillise- I've got to try homemade applesauce with the agave. Yours sounds so good...
Jack-K- Well we both weigh the same now.. I seemed to have slowed to a crawl with my weight and its so discourageing....
Cherylco- Well you've got a brand new week to deal with and a new start... Climb on board and lets do it....
CountryMom- You sound like you've got a great attitute!! Keep it going...
fortytude- Hope you're feeling better..
Melf- You sound awfully busy...
Well I'm off for now.. Everyone have a great day...

Thought I'd better take a minute to check in. I don't have much time so please forgive me not being able to respond to anyone specifically right now. I've been really busy with between working and helping Tranquil get everything ready for her London trip tomorrow. I will be taking her, Zach, and Gram to the airport very early in the morning. They have to be there at 4:00am.:tired: I should have more time for posting this week after tomorrow, hopefully.
I don't know if Tranquil will get a chance to post before leaving town, but I'm sure she will try. As you can imagine, she is having a busy day at work trying to get things finished for the boss.
I've been eating OP but my weight isn't budging right now. I'm still having ongoing Gyn problems so I believe that is the reason I'm at a stand still. Regardless, I will keep eating like I should.
I too, am so thankful for the friendship and support that is so freely given on this board.
Take care and I will check back soon.

Well things are a little slow at the hospital today & since I have been feeling so bad, my DON just called to ask if I wanted the evening off & I did not hesitate to say yes!! I'll stay home
Toni48, So glad to see you back on the board. Hope all goes well with dh's interview. Your pot of beans sounds like such a good idea that I'm gone put some to cook as soon as I post this. Was wondering what to do about supper.
Serene, I'm so glad you posted about Tranquil's trip. I meant to address both of you in my previous post to see how things were going with Zach & if she would still get to make her trip. I'm soooo glad to hear that all is falling into place for her. Please extend my sincere wishes for a great time & safe trip. Sorry to hear that you're still having problems with your health. Hope all gets better really soon {{{HUGS & PRAYERS}}}

Debbie--I have been trying to set up my computer so that I can participate in chat without all the mess ups I've been having with the chat. I am entering through Internet Explorer instead of Netscape. When I click on chat, the chat thing comes up, but also a small window that tells me that I must "enter a name." It has a button to click "OK." But I don't know where they want me to go to enter a name. I'm logged in, and I even re-logged in. That doesn't seem to fix the problem. When I click on the "Enter" button to enter a chat room, I keep getting the same "you must enter a name" dialog box. Do you know what this is and where must I go to "enter a name?"

Good afternoon Gang,
Glad this day is over. It's been frustrating. Going home to grills oem burgers and find some veggies. Then off to the grocery. My fridge is empty.
Did manage to get my walk and workout in this am so don't have to fool with that. Can't wait to get all done and veg out on the couch (probably 1 hr). Oh well.
Country, At 155 lbs I don't think you are wearing a size 30. Hope that was a typo. I can't imagine going through all that flooding especially with my home. The basement was bad enough.
Fortytude. Glad you are feeling better. There has been a lot of that junk going around here.
Melf, I know the feeling about your teeth & gums. Mine still hurt. I no longer have all the gunk in my nose, now it is in my throat. Nasty. I have neer had my teeth and ears hurt like this. Strange. Hope you start to feeling better soon. Hope you are taking an antibotic for yours.
Toni, Come on, we don't have that much further to go. We can do it. It is so discouraging that it is going so slow, but I feel like inches are still coming off quicker than the scale and we will get there. We got to just hang in there and in here and help one another. Almost 50 pounds is nothing to shirk about. Let's have a good week OP an exercising. We can do this.! Good wishes for your DH's interview. Will he work in Kansas?
Serene, I'm sure your gyn problems are contributing to your stall. Just keep doing the right way and you will see a huge drop one day. Looking forward to hearing more from you later in the week. I bet you are going to be lonely with Tranquil gone.
Tranquil. Have a wonderful time on your trip. Hope Zach is up to par. Don't hurt your foot walking too much. Enjoy. Watch your eating.
Have a great night everyone.

SIT DOWN! PICK YOUR CHIN UP OFF THE FLOOR!
SOLSHINE IS IN THE HOUSE!!!!
:D
DEBBIE said she was going to cut me off if I didn't get my butt on here and I don't want to quit getting her e-mails.....aw heck...I miss you guys when I can't get on!
Work has been total H-E-double hockey sticks. If you ever hear the letters S-A-P spoken in your office get the voodoo dolls out, start praying and stir up a strike. That German application stinks!!
Between SAP, Vixen my puppy (who is 5 months old now) and moving into a new house I have not even had time to sleep. I don't even want to talk about the half marathon.... :o
BOB I see we were rooting for Jackie's team together on Saturday! sorry, GatorGal! I'm not going to talk about MSU Bulldawgs as bad as they've been this year....and my mom is back in the football recruiting office....I've given her a talk or two!
MELF, MISSY and SEF you've been in my prayers with all the West Nile Virus and hurricaine stuff in your areas. I hope you're all doing well!
FILLISE, a reunion with FROG? I'm jealous!! One - I can't wait to meet you myself and two - I LOVE FROG! You'll just have to come join us in January so you get to see her and I can meet you!
MONET, we made your egg foo yung (sp?) and even got the guar gum or something like that you had recommended as a substitute for cornstarch. Didn't realize it would be so lumpy, but darn that's a keeper of a recipe!
I know I didn't get to 1/100th of you, but I have to run or I'm going to have to break the Febreeze out on the carpet. I will get on as much as I can and, maybe, if MARIE isn't too far ahead of me, I'll post my weight on WIW. :s:

hi everyone,
just popping in to say hi and thank you all for all the helpful posts i have been reading. i have been peeping in often and it looks like everyone is doing well. i have had a lot of stress eating (though it could have been a lot worse, i guess i have controlled cheats if there is such a thing) and therefore afraid to get on the scale! i have had a few suble indications that i have gained some, like the tighter scrub pants at work, but i am trying hard to get back on track. i need to post more because you guys are sooo supportive.
we were in orlando today as my 19 year old football player at UCF had surgery. he had to have an arthroscopic repair of some torn cartilage and repair of a dislocation of the shoulder joint, so he is home for the next few days so his mommynurse can take care of him. the surgery went very well but he is out for the rest of this season, will be back for spring practice and can hopefully re-earn his right tackle spot. the surgery center was across the street from the whole foods and outback restaurant where we had a sugarbuster get together the early part of the year. we grabbed a sandwich(legal) and i picked up some good things, legal chocolate and some whole wheat tortillas and buns. whole foods makes our wild oats seem so puny, they have some great stuff there.
anyway i will try to post more the end of the week when things settle down a bit.
your friend,
chris

BOB, Are you ok?? shake shake shake... sorry my arm wasn't long enough to reach you with the smelling salts. But I'll try again because here's another surprise visitor!
BigKnightsMomma Sorry Chris, I couldn't resist running onto BOB. No kidding, I'm so glad to see you posting again. Sorry to hear about your son's injury. OUCH! Arthroscopic repair of torn cartilage and repair of a dislocation of the shoulder joint ? That has got to hurt. He's really lucky to have you nurse him back to good health.

My, My, my--SOL and BigK's momma! Good to hear from you!!!!!
SOL--Thanks for taking the time to let us know what is happening with you! It WAS great to see Frog this weekend. I hope to be able to come down for the do in Orlando in Jan! Please stay in touch--even if it just to say hello!
Melf--Frog seems to be doing great! She looked wonderful! Her business seems to be really taking off so between that and her fulltimejob she seems to have her hands full! She did a fun party--my friends really enjoyed her!
Big K's momma--surgery again?????? Take good care of your DS so he can go back to the team next season. I imagine being out is very hard on him. Can he get a red shirt for the year or has he played in too many games?
BOB--I hope the structure of WW--at least the weekly weigh-ins will give you the boost you need!
Toni--you've got to try the applesauce--so easy and so tasty! When I have good applesauce one of mt favorite breakfasts is SGWW toast with applesauce. Get you some good tart apples, some agave and apple pie spice and you are all set!
Heartmom--I hope Boogie is getting better--do y'all leave next Monday--or is it two weeks? The pictures were adorable!
I probably won't be back on the board until tomorrow night or even Wednesday. I hope tomorrow is good for everyone!

Here it is Tuesday... I am in a dither. My private art student comes this afternoon, and I have a ton to do before he gets here. I am doing ok, sticking OP and hoping to see something encouraging tomorrow for WIW.
Good to see SOL and BKM!
The guar gum is tricky. I have to admit, it works some, but I don't like it. The mouth feel is weird. I have been using ww flour and thickening the gravy that way, and like it much better.
Have a good day, everyone!

Mornin to everyone. It was great reading what all happened over the weekend. I have gotten behind due to heavy work load at the office, just like some of you. So please forgive me for kinda jumping in at this moment to sort start over from here.
Debbie, last week, you implied that you had a problem with Splenda but I can't remember why you said that. Can you explain why it isn't a good sugar substitute, assuming that it is a SB-related reason (don't want to pry into your private medical history if it is not SB-related). What sugar substitute is safe to use on SB that isn't aspartame?
And have I seen some of y'all writing about another sugar substitute called something like Agar? What is that?
I am so excited. Just as y'all said, I found ww tortillas in WalMart last night right by the other tortillas on the bread isle. They were the Mission brand and did show they included some sugar, but they were under the 3-gram rule. Say, I have been trying so hard to stay sugar-free that I have even been avoiding breads that (like Pepperidge Farm) have a little sugar in them but are under the 3-gram cut-off allowance. Is that being too strict?
Sorry for all the questions...y'all can kick me off here and tell me to go the SB question Board if you want...I'd understand.
Tomorrow is WIW and I'll be pulling for y'all...I will weigh with you this week, but I am only weighing once a month now, so whenever WIW is around the first of a month like this month, I'll weigh in with y'all but otherwise, I'll just share in the excitement and rejoice with every one of you as the pounds fall off.

Good morning!
I noticed there were no birthdays listed for this week! Could it be because our most humble dungeon mistress has one on Oct. 4th??
Well, Tranquil and family have left for their London adventure! I drove them to the airport at 3:45 am this morning for a 6 am flight. She called me at 8:30 from Washington to say hello as they have a 2 hour wait to change planes. They should arrive around 5 pm so I will keep you posted as I hear from her.
melf, Thanks for your thoughts and prayers regarding my health. I hope your sinus problems clear up soon. I can empathize as I had an infection a few years ago that caused intense pain and the left side of my face to swell. My doctor freaked when she saw me and I was immediately sent for an emergency MRI. She was concerned that it was moving towards my brain. Could that be why I'm a little crazy?? Maybe it did get to the brain.
Jack-K, yes I will miss my friend while she is away, However, I'm hoping she has a fabulous vacation. I will have plenty to keep myself busy. I have her two greyhounds staying at my house, along with my 3. I have wall to wall dog instead of carpet! I will also be going to her house and Gram's apartment everyday to take care of their cats. So, there is plenty to do besides the many other things I have to take care of. I'm glad to hear you are feeling better.
I have an 11 0'clock appointment so have to run for how.
Take care,
Wendy

Happy Tuesday Gang!
Hope everyone is peppy today!:jig:
Yes our humble :queen: does have a birthday coming up Friday. Let us not forget.
They say when it rains it pours. :sorry: Now our a/c is not working. We had turned it off b/c it turned cool, and over the weekend it warmed up and the house smelled so bad from the flood, that we turned it back on. Last nite it was 87 in there. :flame: Hope my SIL can fix it. I think we have had a problem with it every year since we have lived there. i think I have a :lemon:
I did get out and walk this morning. It was cooler outside than in the house so I druge myself out there. Felt like a snail but made pretty good time and still had time to workout :barbell:
Solshine, Wow what a nice surprise to hear from you. Sounds like you hare really busy. Hope you are still OP and doing well. Jump back on here when you get the chance, we miss hearing from you.
Bob, We send me the $10 every week and I'll call you and ask you what you weigh. Deal??Posting your WIW on here is not enough accountability for you? Shame to pay all that money especially if you are not doing the program. But what ever works for you. Good luck. Shame the Paxel makes you gain or hard to lose wt.
BKM, Glad to hear from you again too. Didn't your DS just recover from knee surgery and started back to practice? He got hurt again? Sending prayers and good thoughts his way. Jump back on this board. It is our salvation. Good luck to you. Take good care of your son.
Fillise, have a good day. :flow2:
Monet, hope you get your work done for your student. Have a great day.
LKF, Stevia is another legal sugar substitute. I have heard that it is bitter tasting. Some like it. I use Splenda. Not alot, just not much to put it in or on. Glad you found the ww tortillas. I'm going to check walmart for them too. I use bread that is under the 3 grams. Bread is about the only way I get my starchy carbs. Everything has sugar in it, it is hard to avoid it totally. Whatever works for you. Agave is a cactus syrup that is similar to honey. You can get it at the HFS if you are lucky. The body doesn't treat this like sugar. It is great, but expensive. Good luck with your weigh-in. :vibes:
Serene, Sounds like you will be busy with taking care of all their animals. You must have dogs everywhere. You are such a good friend.
Time to go eat my :apple: Have a great day everyone!

Hi everyone
I though I had better check in with you all before the DM clears me off of her mailing list. I've been very busy lately and just don't have the time to check in often and respond to you all but you are all in my thoughts and I wish you all well in your weight-loss endeavors.
I am staying op most of the time and have been trying to lose what I gained on holiday. I am down to 201 which is just one pound up from my pre-holiday weight. I've been keeping the starchy carbs down and still hoping to see some more results soon. I was out to dinner last night and out to lunch on Sunday. I ate a few potatoes on both occasions and a couple of small pastries but was op for the rest of those days. (I can't remember the last time I ate potatoes but they did taste good.) I find I have been snacking less lately. Where I was snacking most days on cheese and crispbread and sometimes fruit spread, lately my only snacks have been nuts or trail mix, fruit and sometimes a little cheese. I must be doing something right as I don't feel the need to snack as much as I used to. Of course it could also be beacause I have been busier lately and don't have as much time to think about food. I've proved to myself that I do snack more when I am bored.
This is the week that I start fall activities at the local recreation centre. I'll be going to badminton to-nite and tomorrow I start Tai Chi and an osteoporis weight training class. Wednesday's will be a busy day for me as I also go to badminton in the evening.
SONYA it was good to see you posting. Hope you are enjoying your new house and the new puppy. You don't have to worry about me getting too far ahead of you. I am about the same as I was the last time you posted. Which is about the same as I was a year ago. I think I just don't have the same resolve as I had at the beginning of this woe. It will be three years in November that I started on this woe, and I've lost a total of 40 lbs. If I could lose even ten more I would be happy.
Good to see you posting too CHRIS. Sorry to hear about ds having to have surgery again. He's having a tough time, what with his knee problem last year and now this. Hope he is on the mend soon.
Fillise - It's hard to believe that you have had Belle for a whole year. Where does the time go? Sounds like she is really good company for you.
Heartmom - You have two beautiful kids. Thanks for sharing their pics with us. Hope Boogie is feeling better and will be well enough for your trip to PA this week.
Deb - I saw you were asking the other day about popcorn. It's gi is 55 and 2 cups has only 12 grams of carbs. (Compare this to a sweet potato which has a gi of 54 and 20 grams of carbs in 1/2 cup. I know sweet potato is a healthier food but just mentioned it as a comparison for gi/carb content). I personally don't see any harm in having a little popcorn OCCASIONALLY. I don't think it should cause anyone to fall off the wagon. If I have it when I go to the movies I like to get the kids serving. It looks like it is about 2 cups and comes with a small drink. I first discovered this when I took the grandkids to the movies a while ago. I have the pocket book TGR Top 100 Low Glycemic Foods and this is what it has to say about POPCORN:
Popcorn is made from a special type of corn in which high heat causes the kernels to expand with heat and burst open, which then exposes the starchy centre of the grain. It has a surprisingly low glycemic index considering that popping gives other products a very high glycemic index. The reason for its low GI value could be because the corn has a low moisture content to start with, which may inhibit starch gelatinization. Popcorn contains a reasonable amount of fibre and can be low in fat (depending on preparation). Read labels carefully to make sure you are choosing a low fat product.
Melf - Hope you enjoyed your surprise day off and you are feeling better to-day.
Zanne - Thanks for posting the recipe for Black Bean Hummus. I'm going to try it soon. I've just finished a batch of regular hummus and will be making chili tonite so had better wait a few days .
BOB - You get right back on that wagon, girl. Whether it is WW or SB doesn't matter as long as you keep at it and don't let things get out of hand.
Greetings to everyone I have missed - which I know is lots of you.
I'm off to to do a few errands.
Bye for now.

Good Tuesday Morning All:wave:
Wasn't able to get on the board yesterday evening as I had thought, both the kids needed the computer for school. I just have to take a back seat at these times.
I don't have much time to post this morning, ELI is due home at any minute with his daughter Denise who's going to spend the day with us and go out to lunch with us, so as soon as they walk in the door, I have to get off of the computer, but until then, I'm going to try and catch up.
Hmmm, let's see...well, Saturday was garage sale day. It really sucked out there, not many garage sales and they were far apart, so I really didn't get much of anything with the exception of a printer. We needed a new one, the other one wouldn't print, no matter what we tried and kept giving us beeping signals, so I was thrilled to get a printer for $1.00 and figured if it worked, great, if not, only lost $1. Not only does it work, BUT, it's almost the same exact model I had (this is a Canon BJC-5000, and I had a BJC-5100), so I'm able to use the same ink cartridges, which I have a few spares:D
After g sales I spent the rest of the day with my sister and Lauren up in Broward. I didn't get home til 8pm and I was asleep by 8:30pm that evening because the night before (Fri) I didn't sleep a wink all night. Blame that on the chocolate that had not only caffeine in it, but coffee as well, which I stupidly ate late at night. I guess that's the price I paid for indulging, but at least it was SB LEGAL, just ate a bit more than I should of, esp. that late.
Sunday I spend the day with ELI. We got a late start and really didn't do much of anything. Lauren had a picnic from her Thespian Club at school that we had to drop her off at at 1pm.
Yesterday (Monday) I had on my walking gear and out I went. About a half mile from the house I see, down the street, a wall of rain coming towards me. I turned around and tried to run back towards home, the rain beat me. I was stuck under trees (thank goodness, no lightning) for about 45 minutes until it let up. I figured it was just sprinkling, and since I was wet (though not drenched) I'd try to go on, but a little farther on it started to rain again, so I just went home. I don't think I got in a mile and a half, but at least I get an "A" for effort! Today I almost didn't make it out there either. ELI was trying to get me to come back in bed, and feeling tired, it was very enticing, but I didn't cave in to pressure and was able to get in my 4.5 miles, though it took me a bit longer than it has lately, at 55:01. I think I'm feeling tired and achey due to TOM which came like the fast and furious on Sat and should be ending today or tomorrow.
It's funny, the question I asked in last weeks poll, about our weight loss efforts, how many people think others are thwarting our efforts, and I am one who knows that ELI tries to do just that (he's not the only one, just the main one). Well, we got in to a "discussion" the other day and to put it in a nutshell, he said I was no fun to go out and eat with. Now, I don't think he meant that I was no fun, but not eating anything off plan, not partaking in anything he offers me, to try something new, to him, I believe, I am no fun. I sort of understand how he feels, but then think that maybe he just feels guilty for eating the crap that he does and wants someone else to eat this stuff along with him to make himself feel better. It all started when he came home and was going to make some chicken, just for me, as he had already eaten at BK. I got pissed that he'd go there and eat that crappy food. I don't want to eat alone, nor do I want him to come home and cook something just for me that only I am going to eat. On Sunday, we went to the mall so he could get his favorite Aunt Anne's pretzel (jalapeno) and I took a small piece of it (I do love them, but haven't eaten any since starting SB) and said "See! I do eat some things!!!" Does anyone else get this from their DH'S? Anyone have any thoughts on this? I wonder about those who try to thwart our efforts, how does it make them feel and what's the underlying reasons?
Eating continues to be very good. I am eating the popcorn when I get those night time munchies and it most definitely helps curb them. I don't know what the scale is saying, though I know I'm still up (can feel it, can see it), but the fanny pack I wear during walking is a tad looser!
Anyhow, I better get ready the rest of the way. I will try to get back on later and catch up with individual posts.
Please remember, TONIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST If the kids aren't on here, or if they are and I can boot them off, I'll be here-I have no plans tonight!!!
Oh, you GULF COAST GALS, good luck with the incoming hurricane LILI. We understand that TX & LA are going to get it the most and they say it looks like it will hit there with 120mph impact-so batten down those hatches gals!!!
Be back later!!

DEB: Reading your experiences with Eli and your weight management got me thinking. I have read a lot about weight and family, just because my hubby is always wanting to help me, but feels frustrated with what to do to help. How long have you been married to Eli? Did you lose the bulk of your weight before or after your marriage? That may be a clue to why he sabotages your efforts. If you lost after, he may feel threatened, after all, you do look fabulous. He may feel insecure, and subconciously feels he is safer with you less attractive. Of course, he may just like a more rounded shape... and one thing you mentioned, about him eating crap, but wanting to make something just for you... that may be guilt. ( Just let him make something for you, and insist he sit and talk to you while you eat it! Then you can rub it in about how good it is, and how good you feel eating right!) He may really admire you for your self discipline, but it would make him feel less guilty about eating crap if you occasionally slipped. Just keep in mind, men have such fragile psyches... :) Anyway...just my thoughts on the subject.

I read this from the Mayo clinic about water consumption:
We should take our weight, divide it by half, and that is the amount of water we should drink a day. Geez, that means I would need to drink 106 ounces. Has anyone ever heard this before? I do good to get in 64 ounces and can't imagine being able to drink such a large amount. I wouldn't be able to go anywhere as I would have to stay close to the toilet.:(

Well girls, we in SW LA missed Izzy, but it starting to look as though Lili is heading straight for us! :fr: I'm due to return to work tomorrow & Thursday for 12 hr days, so it looks like I will be bringing extra clothes, food & bedding with me. I wasn't too concerned about the last one, but they are saying this is already a category 2 hurricane & that it is taking the path of Hilda (1964) which I remember only toooo well. That one was also around the beginning of Oct.
We plan to leave Friday evening after work for a week of vacation, but right now we're kind of in limbo about what we'll do. It depends on where, when & how hard Lili will hit.
I've got GS Daxton for the afternoon today. He's quiet content right now with his animal cookies, but I guess I need to get a few other things done, like washing clothes. I started this post early this morning, but think I'm caught up with everyone now. Feels good to be able to not only catch up with the posts, but also to be able to reply to everyone for a change.
MISSY Are you ready for Lili? It looks like you'll be well to the east of it, but that will mean lots more rain for you & probably for New Orleans area too. Not good after all that rain from Izzy!
FILLISE, Your homemade applesauce sounds really good. Will have to try it. Have you tried it with Splenda or any of those types sweeteners? I'm sure it is better with Agave, but I don't have much left. :)
Monet, Sounds like you have a really busy day ahead. Hope your art lessons goes well.
LKF, I find that I do better without the breads also. Even the acceptable ones. It's not too often that I will breakdown & eat some. Good luck with WIW. Sounds like you are doing well. :cp:
Serene, Good catch Wendy! Our dungeon mistress probably thought she could slip by without anyone taking notice. :nono: I love your anology of why you might be crazy! I can relate! When I went to the dr Thurs, it seemed as though all I needed was another round of decongestants, but since yesterday it seems as though it has gone down into my chest. Last night I almost went to ER because I was having so much trouble breathing. I felt like I did when I had pneumonia, but this morning it didn't seem to be so bad. I just called my dr. & he said to come by his office. He'll give me a round of antibiotics before it progresses any futher. So hopefully this will nip it in the bud. Sounds like you will be plenty busy while Tranquil is gone. Hey, that rule of thumb for water is a good idea, easy to remember, but I'm like you...I'm doing good if I drink 64 oz per day. :dizzy: Oh, & I see that you have a new name???
Jack-K Sounds like you've had your share of problems lately. Don't you just hate that smell after a flood? Back in 1980, we had the worst flood in our ares that I can remember. Had over a foot of water inside the house for our a week. It took well over 3 more weeks to get it cleaned out enough to go back home. Sorry to hear that now your A/C is giving you problems. Sure hope you can get it fixed soon.
ROSALIE, Sounds like you are busier now that you have retired. LOL Glad to see you posting again. Have missed you. Sorry to hear that you have been fighting the same few lbs over the past year, but don't let that discourage you too much because the fact that you HAVE lost 40 lbs is quiet an accomplishment & at least you are keeping them off. I know what you mean about snacking when bored. :nono: Thanks for posting that info on popcorn. That certainly is good news. It's one of the things that I have missed on SB.
Debelli, I understand what you're saying about Eli's eating & comments about you not eating adventurous stuff. Even though I did not make that choice on the poll, there are times that I feel that some people are trying to subotage my eating habits. This comes mostly from some of my co-workers when they bring snacks & say oh just one won't hurt, or don't you ever eat anything that's not "health" foods? There are some days that I do give in, depending on what the snack is:o, but most of the times & try to stand firm & remind them (& myself) that I didn't loose all this weight just to gain it back with junk foods. It's not always easy to turn away, but it's worth it. At home, my DH is totally supportive of this WOE. I'm truely thankful of that.
My weight this morning is back down to 132! That's my lowest weight again. Sure will try to keep it that way.

Good afternoon everyone.. Just got a few errands done... Sitting here at home hopeing my DH gets a call from the place he got an interview from yesterday. Don't you just hate waiting?!! Can't believe tomorrow is WIW already..
Howdy jred....
Fillise- Have you ever tried making the applesauce in your crockpot? I've always made mine on the stove with cloves and brown sugar etc. Yum I can smell it cooking LOL.....
Monet- Hmmm I've never tried thickening with wwflour but think I'll try now... I swear you can learn something everyday....Thanks for the idea.. Good luck on your WIW...
LKF- I think the mission brand ww tortillas aren't legal to use on SB. They have raisin syrup and something else you can't have on SB. I know I ate a package before I read on the sweet sence board about them.. I would kill for some you can have without making your own.... Agave is a sweetner that doesn't raise your insulin level. Its kind of like molasses and does well in baking. Its made from the blue cactus. You find it in Health food stores and on line.. Debilli can't tell you where.
Serene- Oh yea for Tranquil and what a good friend you are to take care of her animals... Sounds like you will be busy!!!
Jack-K- Not your air cond..... Anything but that.. Hope your SIL can fix it... Well how are we going to do this WIW?
Rosalie- I've not been posting much the last couple of weeks... I see I'm not the only one.. LOL Maybe we'll both get back in the groove... Maybe you'll get rid of that pound tomorrow...
Debilli- Sounds like you're busy as usual but doing good.. I still feel funny about trying popcorn.. How much do you eat? 1 cup, 2 cups??? I'm the one that feels I'm no fun or its no fun to go out and eat because I'm limited. So I don't say "hey lets go out and eat".... I think my sister kind of quietly thinks I'm a stick in the mud food wise because going out to lunch used to be our favorite thing to do and I'm no longer interested, its just easier to eat at home.. Wow life is full of twists and turns isn't it...
Melf- Big congradulations on your weight loss... Ah you've got my dream weight!!!!
Well guess I'll go have lunch.... Talk to you all later....

Hey guys. I'm sitting here at my desk looking at a bouquet of roses from my sweetie! We've been married 19 years today. We're going out to dinner tonight at our favorite restaurant. I'll try to be good. This place specializes in Louisiana cooking, lots of wonderful fish and shrimp entrees. I just have to stay away from the dessert, though. Yikes.
Glad to see I wasn't the only wayward child to re-appear. Deb, you asked if it was guilt or fear that made me come back. I'd have to say a little of both. Fear that without this board, I wouldn't be as successful as I have been and guilt, that without you terrific folks, I know I wouldn't be as successful as I have been.
Gotta run, now. See ya later.

Jack-K, thanks a MILLION for all the great counsel on sugar substitutes! I'll just have to look for Stevia but am glad you use Splenda, too...I don't use a lot of any sweetener, either, but when I need it, it sure helps to have something.
Uh, oh, Jack-K, I apparently led you wrong on the ww tortillas. Toni wrote saying the Mission brand is NOT LEGAL!!! Oops! I must give them away (probably the raccoons will be the only things that will eat them...everyone else I know eats those nastey things with processed flour in them!). Sorry to get your hopes up...guess we will just have to follow that recipe for them that we learned about last week.
Toni, thanks so much for all the good help you offered on the Mission tortillas...boo hoo...is there anything fast in the kitchen if you are to eat like you should? Oh, I know -- eat everything raw and you won't have to cook at all! Ha!
Melf, you were helpful, too, about breads...I do eat one or two a day, though because I think our bodies need them...but I'll bet you lose better than I do!
Y'all are just too cool -- you didn't even kick me off the support board for asking so many questions earlier today! You're the greatest!
Tomorrow is WIW! Are we ready, girls?

When I first started this WOE Dennis was supportive. Since I've lost some weight though, his support isn't quite as strong as it used to be. I know he feels insecure about his weight (he could stand to lose at least 100 lbs) and maybe that's part of it. Plus he does like a "more rounded figure", which I definitely have. Last night was a first though. He had a dessert made for supper last night-jello. I know we had some SF jello so I asked if that's what it was. As far as I know was his answer. Anyway, being of a suspicious nature I dug in the trash and found the box. Of course, it was regular jello with allllll that sugar in it. I was not happy. I didn't confront him with it. Didn't know what to do. But I won't be eating any more of it.
Sorry I can't get to everyone. I did want to say HI TO SOL AND BKM.

Just wanted to get this posted before I leave today
Rosalie, It was nice to hear from you. You are always on the go and very busy. Thanks for posting the popcorn info. Very interesting. I really crave that crunchy salty food. Occasional treats may be nice.
Deb, what a great deal on the printer. Especially since you have some spare cartridges. They are out rageous! I can't see why Eili says you are no fun. I find I can eat anywhere except pizza places. And some of them work sometimes. I think it is guilt over the junk he eats and you don't. Maybe he is insecure with your new body. He always says he thinks you are too thin. I would think after the struggles you have had lateley he would realize how much of a problem it is for you and he would be more udnerstanding. But then, men are from Mars and don't think anything like us. You can't figure them out. Why try. You have to do what is good for you. I don't think I could pass up my DH asking me to come back to bed, no matter what his motives. According to the info Rosalie posted on popcorn, it doesn't sound too bad. If it helps, why not.
Serene, Gosh that is a lot of water. Never heard that before. What about flushing out your electrolytes.
Melf, I hope Lili doesn't mess up your vacation plans. That would stink. Sounds like you are prepared for the worse. Hope it doesn't come your way. Yeah on your low. You are under goal and maintaining. That is wonderful. Keep up the good work.
Toni, Hope your DH hears soon about his job Will he commute? I I don't think I'll see a loss tomorrow. A sneak peak showed the same. Maybe I'll have a miracle tonight lol.
Trish, Happy Anniversary, that is wonderful. Roses are so pretty. Are they red?
LKF, I wouldn't throw the tortillas away. If they are under the 3 grams of sugar, I would eat them. I don't think one every once in awhile will hurt you. Throw you off for ??. Never. that's what we are here from. I learn something new everyday.
I won't be at chat tonite (boo hoo) since my computer is not hooked up from the flood. Enjoy it. Don't talk about me.

Jack-K, if you promise I won't gain weight from eating them, I won't throw the ww tortillas away. Promise? Hee hee...and if anyone talks about you tonight, it will have to be only good things! You're too sweet!

Hi all!!
Just a quick post to say hello and to say all is well. Sorry I don't have time for individual post I just wanted to check in.
I have heard the water theory Serene mentioned a friend and I at work did it last year and all we accomplished was alot of bathroom breaks:lol:
I have been OP and I'm looking to post a lost tommorrow. Hopefully I will make it to chat tonight. Even though I have been busy I've been keeping up reading the board. I couldn't do without it. Have a great evening:)

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!
Thinking I might better get some SLICKERS and RUBBER BOOTS on the next bus to LA....My word...y'all better dig in and get those sand bags filled up!!!
BOB went to WW last night and there are only three words that I can say..OH....MY....GAWD!!!!! Don't even ask...I even measured when I got home.... and today we started walking around the mall where our office is. BOB is back on track....;)
JACKIE...I read and reread your post about the AC...couldn't for the life of me figure out what BLUE CROSS had to do with it! DUH!!!!
I really don't mind paying the $11...when we were in line, we heard the leader telling a couple about the family plan and that the fee would be $11 and $6...well...yeah..you got it..BOB and her buddy tried to pull one off, but she wouldn't buy it...SO...I went ahead and did the $99
plan so I will have to go after paying that money...It's money that I would have spent in Orlando, so at least this is a good cause...
BKM??????? OH MELF>>>>GET MY BOTTLE!!!! I can't take much more excitement...WELCOME BACK!!
I sure did enjoy our conversation the other night...Hope the BK
gets better real soon...Is he staying at school or coming home?
Give him my best...
ROSALIE...good to see you...I'm trying hard to climb back over the side..I think that SUSAN or MISSY knocked my out the back end!!!

Did somebody say popcorn was legal?!
Solshine- Welcome back!
Serene- I try to drink at LEAST a gallon a day- really. I have problems with fluid retention and it seems to be the only thing that really helps.
Boogie still has the infection/cold- we're just going to wait and see how he is this weekend. We're suppossed to leave this Sunday.
I'm actually looking forward to WIW! Can u believe it? I've been good, so we'll see.. Remind me to tell you guys what happened this morning concerning the GUMEY bug and potty training! Right now, I have to go...

Toni Hang in there & you will get to your dream weight too. I started Sb 4 yrs ago & was not weighing much less than your high. I didn't think at that time that I would ever get this low, but persistence pays :)
Trishaloo Happy Anniversary :cp:
LKF The Mission brand of WW tortilas are the only brand that I have found & although it may not be completely legal, if you don't over do with them too often, they should be ok. I only eat them occasional & they keep well in the frig.
Music Teach You are a wise woman. Some things are best left unsaid.
Jackie, You're right that would stink if we can't leave for our vacation. Dh would be very disappointed cause we're going to see his family who he doesn't get to see very often at all.
Mercy, Nice to see you posting again, even if it's just to say hello.
BOB, Here, take this cold cloth & put it over your face. If that doesn't help, lean over as far as you can & put your head between your knees. Well maybe the thought will help anyway. I'm afraid that SLICKERS and RUBBER BOOTS may not be enough for this one, BOB! And as far as sand bags, forget it. That will only help those that have brick homes. My house is off the ground, but definitely in a flood zone. We're way below the sea level here. My main problem would be getting in & out on these roads if it floods. My house will be ok.
Heartmom Good luck with WIW.
Well, I'd best get busy. DH is home & trying to get things situated outside. I need to get some things together & finish ironing uniforms. I think I'll go ahead & put my things in the trunk of my car tonight instead of waiting till tomorrow night. Just in case!!!
Not sure if I'll make it to chat tonight, but will sure try.

This has to be the oddest "diet" because I'm not losing pounds on the scale so much as inches on my body. My daughter is losing inches no pounds. I'm happy either way.
She had a little trouble past few days because of TOM cravings. She asks me if she can eat things and my response is usually "You can if you want but it has a high GI. It will slow down your weight loss"
She usually chooses not to eat it then I'll list stuff that's legal for her to choose from.
She was craving chocolate ice cream real bad so I told her that she's probably better off eating a small bowl of ice cream then eating a bunch of stuff trying to fill the craving.
I am so thankful I started this plan. It's making such a huge impact on out lives!
BOB
Have you tried Celexa?
I've been on it about 4 months and it's great.
About Sugar substitutes: I tried Stevia and it's NASTY!
Splenda is good.
Agave is THE BEST!!!
Oh and Sugar Busters mayonnaise is great too. I ordered it from Sugar Free Kitchen.
Rosalie
I find myself snacking on cheese and Trisects. I crave cheese now and I never was a big cheese eater before.
Thanks for the popcorn info.
About these sabotaging hubbys:
Mine is proud of me, and brags about how well I'm doing, YET he thinks nothing of saying "Oh it won't hurt if you eat some this time"
He's usually pretty good, but I do not trust him  and will not depend on him to help me.
He doesn't want it thrown in his face how bad his habits are (cases of beer and coke) so I just keep it quite because I know he'll join us eventually.

Melf, we will certainly be praying for you and all the gals on the SB board in the path of Lili so as you clear out of there, feel our prayers!
And Melf, thanks for the words on the ww tortillas...last night, I fixed fajitas planning to use the ww tortillas...and just as I was about to spread the fajitas onto the tortilla, I chickened out and used a ww stone-ground pita! But my dh ate one with his and said it was delicious...he's on SB, too, and losing even better than I am! Natch!!! He's a man!!! But your advice is right -- enjoy them only very rarely -- and I will!
Cherylco, I appreciate your advice on Splenda -- I like it, too. Debelli had said it was not as legal a sugar substitute or I wouldn't have raised the question. I think the word in all this is "moderation."
NOW FOR THE EXCITING NEWS OF THE MONTH FOR ME: I weighed in with y'all today and am happily now 3 more pounds toward goal, bringing my total weight loss in two months to 20 pounds! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Can't wait to hear all about how much everyone loses as we all report in today.
Again, all in Lili's path, feel our prayers!!!

Good morning everyone!
First off, WIW. I'm down 4 pounds today, that's a grand total of 53. Yee-haw!!!
DH and I went to dinner last night for our anniversary. Our fav restaurant was closed, so we ended up going to another place. It was very nice, but not quite the same. I did pretty good, had a small filet mignon with veggies but did have a couple of bites of polenta. Also snuck in a couple of bites of cheesecake. Could have been worse, I could have eaten the whole cheesecake which is what I would have done last year. Moderation, moderation.
LKF - I'm in agreement with everyone else on the tortillas. Fortunately, here in Texas, my supermarket has a tortilleria. That's where they make them right there in front of you. They usually have legal whole wheat tortillas and let me tell you they are awesome. Anybody want to make a road trip to Pflugerville??? Way to go on the loss!!
Jack-K - Yes, the roses were red. Actually a beautiful crimson red. He's such a sweetie. Wow, just 1 month until your cruise. I'm such a cruise addict. Ours isn't until next year and I'm already planning everything. Where are you going?
Jaci888 - Smoothie recipe. I just kind of eyeball it. I use about a cup of fruit, 1/2 cup of plain unsweetened yogurt, a little orance juice or water, ice cubes, and whirl. Sometimes I put in about a tbsp of protein powder. I use the frozen unsweetened fruits a lot, but the fresh would probably taste so much better. Sometimes, I add a little bit of sweetener, depending on the fruit.
BOB - Are you a NYPD Blue fan? I fell asleep last night before it was over, and I don't know what happened. Did you see Amazing Race starts again tonight? I'm so excited.
Heartmom - Sending out good thoughts that Boogie fights off the cold. I know how anxious you must be.
Melf - Hope you guys have battened down the hatches. Looks like it's headed your way. Hope everything is alright.
Cherylco - I noticed the inches thing too. In fact, I still do. Sometimes, I'll be eating exactly what I'm supposed to and nothing happens on the scale, but my clothes are fitting much better. Your daughter was craving chocolate ice cream - I know it's not something you'd want to do all the time, but Dreyers makes an awesome sugar-free chocolate ice cream. Sometimes, you just need that chocolate fix and nothing else will do. Just remember, moderation. Did you try the liquid or powdered stevia? I found it but haven't bought any, because it's pretty expensive. Can you cook with it?
Deb - I hope you notice that this is 2 posts in 2 days. Can I be off the dungeon list now?
Well, everyone, better go now. Have a terrific day and everyone in Lili's path, we're thinking of you.
Trish

Happy WIW Everyone
Hope the scale is good to everyone today. I said it would take a miracle for me to see a loss this week. Guess what, I am a believer in miracles. I was down 2 lbs. Don't know why. I ate OP all week, but did have more wine than I should have and some vodka. But I drank alot of juices with this stupid cold and really thought that would stall me. Go figure. I'll gladly take the 2 lbs.
Helped cut the grass last nite. It was the first time I have done that in over 3 months. I cut alot more than I normally do and boy were my legs worn out. Had to go to the store later and I could hardly walk. This morning I didn't want to go for my walk but knew I couldn't do it tonite so I drug myself out there. Could hardly jog much, and it took me longer but I made it. Those weights sure were extra heavy this morning too. Guess I wore my body out. So I'm going to sit at my desk all day and hope I don't have to get up much.
I'm in a panic, they say we are to get about 4" of rain from Lili Friday or Sat. I guess I will be watching the basement closely, except DH leaves for Canada Friday morning and I wouldn't know what to do if this happens all over again. We did go out last night and buy another sump pump, so hopely that will help. DH thought about cancelling his trip, but I would feel bad if he did, even though I would love it. Those are some long 10 days he is gone.
Music, What a dirty trick your DH played. He had to know what kind it was. Do you cook different meals for him? I'm surprised he hasn't lost some way just by you doing this WOE and cooking right.
Mercy, hope WIW is good to you.
Bob, I'm so glad to hear you are back on track. Now just stay right there and don't wander around. b/c is because. Sorry was using my shorthand. Hey a guys gotta try to save a buck. They wouldn't buy that you were sisters?
Heartmom, Sure hope Boogie kicks that cold so you can make your trip. It must be such an emotional rollacoaster for your family. Prayers coming your way. Can't wait to hear that story. Hope WIW is great for you.
Melf, Glad your house will be safe. I hope it is wind proof. I think I heard 115 mph winds. I can't imagine. Hope it doesn't really hit you all that hard. Please stay safe.
Cherlyco, get some SF or NSA ice cream for your DD. I also have some SF chocolate candy handy for those cravings. If you crave chocolate, cheese isn't going to satisfy that craving. I agree this is a great WOE.
LKF, Congrats. I am doing the  for you today. 20 lbs in 2 months is great. You will probably continue to do about 10 lbs a month. I did until the last couple months. I think that is what kept me motivated. I was losing so good, losing inches like crazy, and feeling great and eating great too. Keep up the great work.
Trish, How awesome, 4 lbs. I am doing a happy dance for you :cb:. 53 lbs is wonderful and with eating your dinner out. Yes moderationis the key. Funny how we learn that after so long. Just hope we always remember it. We are going to the EAstern Carribean: St. Martin, St Thomas, San Juan & Bahamas. I can't wait. I'm trying to fit into my DD formal. Still a little snug, but that's my goal.
All you Texas and La gals, take care from Lili and stay safe.
Hope to see alot of losses today. I think it is going to be a good day.

Hi gang! Only 3 days left till the wedding. I probably won't even look at a computer until next week sometime... I'll miss you all!
My aunt and uncle from Washington (state) arrived; we had a wonderful dinner at Timberlodge Steak House last night. Prime Rib and steamed veggies with a side salad. YUM!
My best friend is arriving today, along with Dan's brother (um, not together). Tomorrow my mom and another good friend from California arrive. Friday is the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, then Saturday's the BIG DAY! :cb:
After the wedding, we're taking Dan's son back to his mom's house, dropping my mom and my 2 friends at their respective airport hotels (they are all leaving early Sunday morning), and the two of us are spending the night at a romantic Bed and Breakfast with a jacuzzi tub and fireplace in the room. :cloud9:
Sunday we'll be attending church with my aunt and uncle - our first service as husband and wife. Wow, what a warm, fuzzy feeling that statement gives to me. You'd think I was in luuuuuuuv or something! :o
I am looking forward to getting back firmly OP next week. I start back at work Wednesday, so will be sure to drop in and say hello.
Think happy thoughts for me! :goodvibes:
Hugs to all!

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone:wave:
Got in that much needed walk/jog this morning and surprisingly did better than I expected. Took me less than 51 minutes today-haven't seen a decent time like that in a while. Still blistering hot out there, we're still in the 90's. I am really looking forward to somewhat cooler weather. Anything around the 80 degree mark for a high would be a nice change!
I'm working on doing a flyer for ELI for SB for a party next Saturday, the 12th, so that's going to be one of the things I have to focus on today. That and the grocery store are the highlights of the day!
Yesterday we went up to Broward. NO, we didn't go to OLE OLE, surprised? Well, so were we. We actually went there, they had no power, so we had to go somewhere else. Ended up at one of the ME places that's really good up that way and had some wonderful falafel! Actually, I liked the change that day. Stopped for some Carbolite on the way home, pistachio and white chocolate macadamia-yummy!:D It was a realy short day out, just ran up there for lunch, stopped at one store and the carbolite place and came home.
Actually, had to go get my car before we came home. Had to take it to the mechanic yesterday, ended up coming back to me and me giving up $228.00:fr: I swear, if it's not one thing, it's another!
MONET had asked about my weight history and ELI. ELI's seen me heavy and ELI'S seen me thin. He's never liked skinny women, likes a little meat on them. He loves me no matter what, but he doesn't hold his tongue in telling me I'm too skinny, that he would like it if I had, as he says, a little more meat on my bones. Ask anyone who's met him and they'll tell you that he says I'm all skin and bones. He knows I won't change and gain weight to please him, and I'm sure that his having to lose some weight has something to do with it, though not much because he wasn't this weight years ago and he still liked a little larger woman. He really should be happy, I mean, I was at a low of 118, though not where I wanted to be, but even at the point of my cushion, I'm up some pounds, so I am heavier than I was last year. People tell me I look good now, whereas before, many people told me I was too thin. A couple weeks ago we went to a ME rest. that we've been going to for years, and know the owner and we hadn't been there in months, so Samir comes over and tells me I look good, a lot better than I had the last time I was there, that I was too thin. My sister told me the same thing, that her and my BIL thought my face looked shallow. I guess what we see in the mirror is different than how others perceive us, but who's more important to please - ME!!!!!
I am not going to weigh in. I thought about waiting til my next anniversary, the 22nd, but I think I will weigh in next week. I made goal on the 10th, and next week is the 9th, so that's close enough. I'm not going to count on much since I usually have 2 weeks of being up after TOM ends which is what's happening now.
Sorry I didn't make it to chat last night, I had all good intentions. I was on the computer earlier and then Lauren came home from bbsitting for her English teacher and needed the computer and my good intentions were thrown to the wind. With nothing on TV and not being able to get on the computer, I climbed in to bed and called BOB to get me through having board withdrawls. Sorry to those of you who made it, I really wanted to get in on this weeks chat.
Going to jump in here with replies before I find myself once again not having any time to catch up. I'm starting from Monday, so if I missed anything over the weekend that needs attention, please let me know.
MONET, you MUST tell us how the puff pastry came out. I'd love to have the recipe if it's good. I doubt I'd ever make it though, sounds hard, but one never knows, other miracles have happened during the time of man;) Why guar gum and not agar agar, or arrowstarch for a thickner, even ww flour?
DEBY, what the heck were they doing with wedding cake at a tailgate party? What did the vet say about Max and his leg? Okay, 9 pounds is wonderful, now it's time to focus on make it a nice rounded even number of 10, and beyond. See how good you feel when you are following OP and when you aren't. Imagine just how good you will feel if you don't indugle, staying OP AND seeing the scale go down and the number of pounds you've lost increase-there's no greater high!!!!
ZANNE, I too find a lot of motivation from what I read on the net, all the information that confirms this WOE is the best, at least for me. The words that Ralph Mariston writes are also a great inspiration as well, but as you know, the wonderful people on this board are the best inspiration anyone could ever want:D
FILLISE, hope you are feeling more rested today and NOT coming down with anything. I feel like crawling back in to bed most days and that's not having any feelings of being sick. I just think some days, things tend to catch up with you and your body needs more sleep. I'm sure some of it is hormonal. WOW, I can't believe it's been a whole year since you got Belle, I remember when you posted her homecoming on the board, seems like yesterday! I love home made applesauce too. I don't add anything to mine, seems to me to be sweet enough. I made some but also threw in peaches, plums, whatever I had that I needed to use up, it's delicious. I just got a new (old) book with a recipe that uses applesauce in it, for a cake, will have to post it soon, it sounds wonderful!
JACKK, CONGRATS on your 2lb loss this week! Awesome job! Keep up the great work, you'll be needing all new cruise wear the way you are going! Duck hunting all the way to Canada? Okay, do you eat these ducks? I just have to ask! If you really like pot pies, I know, among the hundred books I have, there's bound to be a recipe or two-actually, I do remember seeing some, so if you want me to look, just let me know. I may have possible posted one long ago on the recipe boards, will have to do a search. The one I bought was delicious and in fact, since you mentioned it, I am going over to the HFS today and may just pick up one for dinner. If you find it, just to let you know, it says to cook it for an hour, but 45-50 minutes is long enough, at least in my oven. I think I like the crust better than anything! What's going on with the a/c-hope it's nothing major and your SIL can fix it.
CHERYL, sorry to hear you didn't feel well after all that indulging:s: Hopefully, it will deter you should the need to eat crappy food arise again! It's not so bad if we can learn from these experiences, but if one continues to do it over and over again, that's a whole different story. When DD gets cravings during TOM and mid-cycle, these are normal. Try upping her protein intake and you can up her food, just try to keep it all SB LEGAL. I think it was good to give in to the ice cream desire and agree, it's that or nothing, or at least that's the way it usually is. As long as it stops at that, I'm one that can't stop at a half cup. You could try making a "chocolate milkshake" like I do, it's delicious!
COUNTRY, 30's?? What the heck size is 30? Not one you wear!
FORTY, sorry to hear you weren't feeling well, but glad to hear you're doing better. CONGRATS on losing another 3lbs-awesome job, keep it up!
MELF, here's hoping that you and your family are all safe and sound and I know you'll get back on here and let us know what's happened after LILI passed through. I pray y'all don't suffer any damages or losses, I know what going through a hurricane is like, though luckily, we never had to evacuate. Andrew just did his damage while we were hunkered down in the house. As for us, getting to goal and occasionally eating off plan. I too sometimes think that I've gone through all this and should be entitled to splurge once in a while if I do wish to do so, but the reality is that if I do this, I'm going to see the rise on the scale and more than likely, it's not going to be just a one-time thing, which is worse than eating that first bite of whatever it is. This is just something I need to work on and just as it took time for me to lose the weight, this is going to take time as well. I also think we have to remember that even if we have a goal weight and that we reach it, we are going to go up and down, that no one stays at that same number, day in and day out. That's another reason I wanted that cushion and it to be lower, but I haven't been back to that cushion in months and now I'm just hoping that I can get back to my goal and below soon! I know I'm above it! Orlando, the weekend of the 12th of January. Will be posting more info about it soon, as I'm hoping you and others will consider coming down-such a gorgeous time of year! Swiss chard-I make a delicious soup using it, with lentils, if you ever want the recipe- easy too!
TONI, can't get hung up about a pound gain, you can easily gain 5-6 pounds from hormones, 1lb is easy to get right back off, it's when you are eating off plan, and the scales go up, up and away that you need to worry. I'm sure you've lost that pound, esp. since you are walking again. How did DH's interview go?
SERENE, I'm sure you are keeping busy with all the dogs, running to Sabrina and her Grams house to take care of everything, not to mention, taking care of your own family. Wish I was up there to help you out. Tell Sabrina she'll need a vacation from her vacation AND that you too need one, so to come to stay down in the free villa you have here in Miami as soon as you can! Can't wait to see what you may have found at the bookstore today. To me, that's better than being in a candy store, umm, hmmm:chin: maybe that should be better than the grocery store! You got me pegged, yes, I personally haven't listed bdays-I'll get them posted AFTER this weekend. I'm at the age I don't want to be reminded! Yes, I have heard that about the water, and actually, I like it that way, even though, for me, whether I figure it out that way, or do the recommended 8 glasses a day, with my weight, it comes out the same.
GATOR, sorry, didn't see your post about the chat til this morning. Contact SUZANNE and she'll be able to help you out with whatever trouble you are having, remember, I'm computer stupid!
SOL, well, geezus! Your post was a sight for sore eyes! Now, now:nono: I didn't say those words about your butt and cutting you off, but I'm glad that you thought that:s: Whatever it takes to get you back with us. Look at all the love on the board and all the people who have missed you-how can you even think about staying away for that long without a hello! I don't know what the heck SAP is, but whatever it is, get rid of it and leave SAP (Sonya At Peace). I hope you can find just a little time for yourself (okay, for us, I'm stingy). I, as well as the rest of us, understand with work, new fur child and a new house, you've been busy. Hoping that you haven't forgotten Vince through all this! Do you guys ever see each other? WDW Marathon, girl, you better not let me down-I'll drag your arse there if I have to, so you better get on the ball, we've only got 3 months to go!!! I'm coming up there no matter what, and I've got a possee coming with me as well. If you read between the lines from the e-mail I sent you that got you on the board, read between the lines now-I know where you live and I'll show up, with SB FRIENDS!!!!!!!!:s: Honestly, I was just thrilled to see your post-WELCOME BACK!!!! Now, will you stay back for Godsakes!
BIGK, glad to see that all went well with Jeff's surgery and that you are now nursing him back to health. Sucks that he's out for the season. Sounds like you had a good time running through WHOLE FOODS next to the Outback. Which tortilla's did you buy, the CEDAR LANE? I love those! Will try to give you another holler soon, sorry I missed you the other day.
LKF, okay, many people use Splenda without trouble. I personally don't use it. In small amounts, it's fine, but I have prefered stevia over splenda due to the maltodextrin in it. What happened is, I made a PB PIE, twice, using splenda and, as you know, moderate eating is just not one of my strong points, so I ate a lot of the pb pie, in one day, and polished it off quite quickly. Well, that's not moderation in eating, or the amount of splenda and both times I did this the scale went waaay up, I mean 5-6 pounds up. The first time I wasn't sure it was splenda related, but the second time I was sure of it. So, in small amounts, it's okay, but I won't use it unless there's nothing else around, and then it would be just a packet. I think for those people who may, say, drink unsweetened tea and possible use 2 packets in a glass and drink a few glasses a day-this may be a problem, but using it in moderation, you should be okay. Many people don't like stevia because they overuse it and put too much and it does taste nasty if you do so. The key is to try a little and add until you get the desired sweetness. I tend to do things a little different than what SB says, like, the 3grams of sugar rule. I basically won't buy something if it has sugar listed in the ingredients (not talking about sb legal chocolates, of course), even if it does fall under the 3 gram rule. There's usually an alternative out there. I didn't realize, for instance, some beans I bought, had added sugars, I won't use them anymore, and was able to find the same beans without the added sugar. Are you talking about agave when you asked about the sweetener? Don't ever be afraid to ask questions, we're all eager to throw in our 2 cents.
ROSALIE, glad to see your post-was getting a bit worried about you there! Sounds like your fall schedule is going to be a busy one, you are always doing something! Thanks for posting the info on the popcorn. Unfortunately, 2 cups just doesn't do anything much for me, more like a bag most days, though sometimes I'll stop at a half bag. It's like ice cream, a half cup serving just doesn't fly with me, more like a half-gallon! At least the one I do get for myself has only corn and salt, nothing else, so it's definitely the lowest fat one you can buy!
TONI, about the popcorn, read my post to ROSALIE above to answer your question. I would only be afraid to eat it if it's a major trigger food for you. If not, you can try a cup and just see how your body reacts to eating it. If you don't see any problems, then you have found something you can easily tolerate, if you do see trouble, then all you have to do is stop eating it. I second your sentiments about eating at home, easier AND cheaper to boot!
TRISH, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! WOW!!! 4lbs, that's awesome. Happy Belated Anniversary! WOW, one more year til the big 20th! I hope you and DH enjoyed our evening out and being together. Sounds like you had the same experience as we did yesterday with the closed restaurant! Glad to have you back on the board!!!! Yes, you are off the hook, just don't disappear again!!!!!
MUSIC, I'd of hung DH up by his toes if he did that to me with the jello. Oh no, that wouldn't fly with me. That's definite sabotage. How are you going to handle him-throw him to the wolves!??? He sounds like ELI, maybe we can lock them both up in my dungeon!
MERCY, thanks for checking in!!!!
JACI, actually, there's a smoothie recipe posted on the recipe boards. If you are looking for something in particular though, let us know, we'll be happy to try and get a recipe to fit your need. Until then, here's the recipe I had posted:
Here is one of the recipes I adapted using the agave syrup.
FRESH & FRUITY AGAVE SMOOTHIE
Makes approx. 4 servings.
1 pint fresh strawberries, stemmed and sliced
OR 2 cups frozen strawberries, slightly thawed
1 cup milk
1 cup (8oz) plain or vanilla low-fat yogurt
1/2 cup agave syrup, or to taste
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup crushed ice
In a blender or food processor, combine all ingredients; process until smooth. Serve immediately.
OTHER SUGGESTIONS: You may use 2 cups of any fresh or frozen fruit or a combination of fruits such as sliced strawberries and sliced peaches or whole raspberries and mango.
The possibilities are endless!
BOB, glad to chat with you last night. GOOD LUCK this round, you can do it, you know you can, now would you just believe it??? I will only admit that I'm not as old as you by 9 years+!!!!
HEART, hoping BOOGIE is going to be okay before the weekend-have my fingers crossed! Keep us posted!!
JENN, so good to see your post, and with all that's going on, well, I think I can speak for us all in saying how special you make us feel to take the time to check in during all that you are facing in the next few days. I just want to wish you to have the most beautiful time of your life and I know we all can't wait to hear about your wedding after you get back and everything settles down for you and Dan. We'll be thinking about you this Saturday!!!! BEST WISHES!!!!
Okay, it's almost 11:30pm and I'm hungry, so I'm closing this up for now. Will try to check in later!
Have a wonderful day!

Hi,
I am really mad about this Lili. Not only is it messing with peoples lives, it is working on our minds. My daughter and her husband were suppose to come visit yesterday and they had to cancel at the last minute because of the hurricane. Now, they can't even get far from the house because they need to be close in case they need to flee. I feel so sorry for everyone that is even near the path of that storm.
I was so depressed yesterday about anticipating the visit and then the let down. My husband and I went into town to run some errands and try to cheer ourselves up. He even bought me a pretty mum plant to up my spirits. I am feeling better today but worrying about what will happen with the hurricane is still on my mind. I might tell you that my daughter and her husband live near Galveston, Texas.
Melf: I was sorry to hear that the storm is getting so close to you, too.
Thank you for the input about my eating distress. I don't know why I stop journaling when I know how important it can be. I did get up the courage to weigh (It is still hanging in at 149.My absolute upper limit is 150 which I hope never to see again.) and I started journaling this morning. I use a program called Diet Power and it is very handy. I don't think you were rough on me at all and I appreciate that you took the time to advise me. This gradual weight increase has me crazy but I am determined to work through it.
Jack-K: I am also taking your advise and dropping down to 2 carbs a day rather than the 3 I usually have. I will cut out the 2 glasses of red wine a day and some of the almonds and get myself together here.
Trishaloo: WOW, 4 pounds, congrats! When I return to Dallas I will be busy until after the holidays, then you might see me picking you up and rushing for the Tortilleria. I have a nephew that lives in Austin and will have another excuse to visit that area.
Since I am lucky and today is beautiful in NC I should take advantage and get out there and walk. We are suppose to get some rain from Lili Friday and I will be inside for awhile.
Bye for now.

Hello there! Thanks for your understanding when it comes to my inablity to post. Tuesday treatment lasted 3.5 hours although it is frustrating, I have to think positive that this treatment could work even better next time. I just wish they would treat my leg and back, they are in 1st stage and haven't progressed like the hand. Dr. said I'm to keep taking short daily walks to try to keep my foot from getting worse.
When I last posted to the boards, we were all discussing the battles of cheating. I talked to my dh about this, his theory is that we cheat because we see SB as a diet and not a way of eating, much like a vegetarian. After having allowing my eating habits slide for a week, I can see that trying to identify with my dear dh's theory has only given my mind permission to eat those very things that I so NEED to get away from. So yesterday with the exception of about 2 tsps of chocolate syrup on my sf/ff ice cream right now, I am back to not thinking that I can have anything and control it. Maybe some day, but I think for me, eating the wrong things is very much like smoking was for me, I know if I ever pick up a dag gum cig again, I would for sure pick up my hold habit (I quit in '97). I think the very same is true for my eating, when I eat the sinfully wonderful desserts and baked goods I love, I just don't stop. Funny, what I do find is that the sf/ff things like the ice cream or even the yummy sf cheese cake with almond crust, satisfy me with one serving and I don't have the urge to keep going back for more the same day.
I didn't step on the scale today, don't know how long I can avoid the silly thing but I would like to go with Deb's idea and try once a month instead of every day and let the clothes tell me how I'm doing.
Here's a late MM, but I thought it was totally worth it to post.
There is only one way to solve problems: to face them honestly and confront them head-on. Running away won't work, or trying to squirm around and under them, or pretending they aren't there or never existed. You have to plow straight through problems, live straight through them, until you come out the other side. This is persistence. It takes courage to confront problems, a clear eye to face the facts, and a clear mind to do the next right thing. Persistence may be the most necessary human quality of all. Today, I will try, and try, and try again to solve my problems. I'll make persistence a part of my own life, for myself and as an example to others.

QUICKIE...
Just updated my e-mail addresses for the board. You should all have received an e-mail to confirm I have your address and it's correct. If you did NOT get an e-mail from me, you are either not on my list due to my negligence, you are not on our bio board, I entered your e-mail address incorrectly (though I'd learn this when I got it kicked back to me), or I've deleted your address due to you not posting in about 2 months time.
If you want me to add you to the list, just let me know. You can e-mail me at Debelli@AOL.COM at any time.

This happened yesterday(copied it )..
Joseph sleeps alot in our bed- this morning he woke up and was scratching his
leg so I looked and it seemed like a wasp sting to me, I slung the blankets
everywhere and there was no bug to be found. So I take him to the bathroom
and get out the alcohol, I then notice he has several bumps/bites on his
legs. So I stripped him down and looked him over- no bug. He even had the
"bites" on his toes, and he had been wearing socks. So I redress him and we
go to the kitchen to take the morning meds- another one pops up on his knee!
No darn bug- by then I'm thinking what the heck? I call the doc and of course
have to leave a message. When I get off the phone, another one has appeared!
I'm then thinking he's having a reaction to something. I take him to the
doctor and he's sees him and smiles saying it is bug bites! I told him that
there's no bug. He pointed out the actual bite mark the invisible bug made-
so in a nutshell, the GUMEY bug bit him, lol. For those of you wondering what
the heck is a Gumey bug- there's only 1 in the whole wide world. He's
imaginary, and I keep him in my pocket and get him out when he wants to
tickle Joseph like crazy. This is a game between us- but seriously, it was a
bug that bit him and it wasn't visible to the eye, go figure. So we get home
and i dunk the kids in the tub- when I took boogie's diaper off, it was dry,
I wondered why since I had given him lasix before we left the house, so I
said great- he's going to pee in the tub, so I put him in anyway. About 3
minutes later, here comes Boogie soaking wet and butt naked running down the
hall hollering "MAMA!" and holding his thingy in his hand. I realized what
was wrong- he actually got out of the tub to let me know he had to pee(excuse
me, um..urinate)! I couldn't believe it! So I'm frantically trying to get the
potty ready why he's shouting Mama and holding his thingermijiggy. I got it
and he sat down and ........PEED!!! Can you tell I'm excited?
WIW- I am down 3 pounds from last WIW! And I'm down 1 1/2 " from last week. I can really tell my pants are baggy on me now and longer. I just wish I could hurry up and lose a few more so that I can get into the next size comfortably. Right now, some 20's fit me good and other's are too snug- but my 22's are very baggy.

Thanks for the notification, Debbie, that some of us weren't on your e-mail list. I just sent you an e-mail asking to be put on.
And thanks, too, for clearing me up on the Splenda thing -- I understand now...it's that moderation thing again...keeps coming up, doesn't it?
Congratulations to all the losers today! Isn't this the greatest!? Feel good and lose weight, too!!!

Okay---I'm trying to memorize everyone's name and it's hard!!!
Congrats Losers of the week!!!
You girls in texas and louisiana be careful!! I will send up a prayer!!
My dog (max) has a strained knee so he can't run and play for a week---He will be just fine, thanks deb. I'm so glad it wasn't any more serious than that (or expensive!)
We should be getting a lot of rain from lil also!!
I weigh when i get to work this evening so i will post later. It's hard to gauge that way since it's in the evening, if i've had something to eat. Need to get some scales at home!!
I've got an exciting lead on a new job! It's at a hospital here in town so i won't have to drive an 1hour every nite like i do now. I'm praying it all works out for the best.
Thanks everyone for the daily inspiration!!--debyj:D

Good afternoon everyone. Hope everyone is having a good OP day. I only lost a 1/2 lb. today.. Boo hoo. But really am happy I lost.. Think I need to get back to exerciseing and more portion control.. Also try to cut down on my carbs. I did walk on the treadmill this morning so am glad about that. Tomorrow I go to the dentist to get my stiches out of my mouth.. So terror of a dentist sets in today.. Even though I know thats all he's going to do.. What a baby I am..
Debilli-Thanks for asking about DH's interview... He thought it went well and now we're waiting for them to call back and let us know there decision on who's going to work for them. There was one more man coming to interview. I hate that waiting. And of course I'm wondering if they'll call Steve to let him know if they don't hire him... Hmmm we'll see. You sure did great on your walk/jog... I can't wait for cooler weather so I can at least have a change of pace from always walking on the treadmill... Oh my gosh thanks for the smoothie recipe. I can't wait to try it..
cherylco- I know what you mean about those DH. Mine drinks beer, eats cookies and potatoes and needs to be on SB but is stubborn as a mule. I just don't say anything because I don't want him to stub up... I just keep losing and figure one day he'll jump on SB or not. But I sure didn't want him telling me I was fat and needed to lose weight and bless his heart he didn't and hasn't...
Melf- Oh my gosh Melf my prayers and thoughts are with you. And you're a wise woman to go when they tell you to... Will be anxious to hear everything is all right.
LKF- Wow 3 lbs. is great.. What an inspiration!!!! Keep up the good work.. What a great idea putting the fajitas on pita bread... I've got to try that. I'll bet it was good.
Trishaloo- You go girl, 4 lbs. is wonderful and 53 lbs. is a dream... You to keep up that great work.. What a sweetie your DH is. Your dinner and roses sound so romantic!!! Happy belated anniversery to you............
Jack-K-Oh you did great 2 lbs. is terrific.. Oh no fall down kick my feet sling my arms and scream, you've went below me....I'll have to work so hard this week and catch you next week... So lady be forewarned this is it and I'm coming after you... ( I throw the glove down!!! Put my chin high in air and suck in some water...)
Jenn in MN- Oh many blessings and good to wishes to you.. May you have a wonderful wedding and a blissful night for your honeymoon... I can tell you're smiling big and happy.....
Yellowrose- I'm so sorry your daughter didn't get to come.. What an awful disappointment that would be... I hope she is safe from the hurricane..
Mercy- You did so good, congradulations on losing the big 3 lbs. That is simply marvelous...Keep up the good work..
Idblond- Sometimes I think losing weight is allot attitude. We need to look not at what we can't have but be positive about what we can have.. And how good we can make it. I think if we dwell about not getting what we want it makes it harder to stay OP...
heartmom-Congradulations to Boogie!!!! Your story is so cute it made my day... And great on losing weight...
Well I'm off to the grocery store to buy a turkey breast thats on sale... Have a great day....

debyj, so glad Max only strained his knee...poor baby...he doesn't understand and I'm sure he looks up at you with those big brown eyes and asks why he hurts. Please give him some extra hugs from me! Here's hoping your weigh-in tonight rewards you for your faithfulness to program!
Toni, please be thankful for that half pound you lost last week! A half pound is GOOD!!! And, as we all must keep reminding ourselves, the weight coming off is only a wonderful "side" benefit of the healthy eating that we are going to do for the rest of our lives...so what's the hurry? Oh, I love to lose...don't get me wrong! But I'm in this for life and none of us have to be in a hurry to get it done -- just relax and enjoy feeling good. I really do feel too good to be losing! But boy, am I glad I am!!! Hope your visit to the dentist tomorrow is a breeze! It will be over before you know it...and thanks for the congrats on my weight loss. I loved it when you called me an inspiration -- that's what all of you are to ME! And you JUST GOTTA try putting the fajita top on a ww pita, Toni -- it was GREAT! You could even slide it in half so it is extra thin...that would be better but I never manage to slide it thin like that very well...I am such a clutz in the kitchen!

Hi guys,
I'm still here, don't know if anyone noticed I wasn't. LOL
I'm still sticking to SB's and I am at 152. The other morning I got on the scale and it said 149.8...now I knew it would not stay that way BUT it was so excellent to see the 140's even if for a few hours.
I read the board, but I don't have enough attention span to reply to everyone....plus I am making small gingerbread ornaments, big gb houses...and teaching my self how to make high end candles. I'm doing some craft shows in Nov. Throw in some kids and you have a full day.
Hope everyone is doing well!!

Well WIW was the same as the last few weeks--no loss, but no gain. So I guess I'll be satisfied with that for now. I've been OP except for the jello incident. :s: It will come down, I know, if I'm patient.
HOUSTON TEXAN FANS.....
Any out there????? I'm still a Cowboys fan myself, but I am happy we have two TX football teams again. My bro. travels for the paper to all the Texan football games. Just got in from Philly last night and gave me a call. We also found out that their kicker is Dennis's cousin down the line. His GM and my MIL are sisters. Of course, he doesn't know us at all. Our small claim to fame.
HEART: So... were they bug bites or what??? I totally understand about the potty thing. Good for Boogie!:cb:
LDBLOND: I think you've hit the nail on the head. I have GOT to quit thinking of this as a diet. I know I refer to it as a WOE, but it's hard to beak old habits.
MERCY: WTG on losing those 3 lbs.:cp:
YELLOWROSE: Hope your DD doesn't have to evacuate. It's looking pretty nasty in that region.
DEBBIE: I still haven't said anything to Dennis about the jello incident. I'll see if he notices that I made some SF pudding just for ME. And no, I'm not sharing with anybody!
JACKIE: Congrats on losing those 2lbs. That's great. I'd be soooo happy if I saw any kind of loss. He eats pretty much the same thing I do, but he usually wants a baked potato. Everything else he eats the same.
TRISH: YOU GO GIRL!:cb:
LKF: A big WTG to you too for your loss this week!:cb:
I have been working on this on and off all day. Sorry I didn't get to everyone. I'll check in later.

Good afternoon everyone
I have nothing new to report for WIW. Weighed in the same as yesterday. Just one more pound to go to get to my pre-holiday weight.
Deb - That was a great deal you got on the printer. I don't know how you can be so energetic when the weather is so hot out there.
Melf - Thinking of you and hope you remain safe from Lili. Hope you are able to go on your vacation.
Toni - That pound is still with me! No changes this morning. But at least it is better than a gain. At least you managed to lose a half pound. So you are ahead of me. :) Good luck at the dentist tomorrow. I'll be sending good thoughts your way.
Trishaloo - Congrats on your nineteenth wedding anniversary. Also on your weight loss this week. Fifty three pounds total is awesome. Sounds like you did well at your anniversary dinner.
LFK - No one will ever be kicked off of the board for asking questions. We all learn from other peoples questions. So keep asking. Congrats on your loss this week. Twenty pounds in two months is wonderful.
Heartmom - I wouldn't say that popcorn is legal as nothing with corn in it is considered legal on SB. I was just quoting some information I had and giving my opinion. It's up to each of us to decide if we can eat certain things without jeapordizing our weight loss. What works for one person may not work for another. But as I said before I can't see that eating it occasionally could do much harm.
Cherylco - Those inches are just as important as the pounds. That's one of the good things about this woe. When you are eating right you can feel good even if the pounds are not coming off. When I started this woe I used to buy Triscuits. But once I started on them I couldn't keep my hand out of the bag so I stopped buying them. I'm the same with the Oatbran Pretzels. When I discovered them about 6 months ago I would sit down and eat half a bag at a time. I stopped buying them and then last week I decided to try them again and started off by eating almost half a bag. I did control myself afterwards and since have only eaten a few at a time. But I'm probably better off not buying them. Just have no willpower once I start.
Jack-K - Congrats on the two pounds lost. WTG.
Jenn - Sending happy thoughts your way for your wedding day.
I went for the osteoporis weight training class this morning. We had a very good workout. It's surprising how much exercise you can get sitting on a chair or standing by the chair. Some of the exercises were similar to my WATP tape. I don't have any weights yet but they didn't want us to use them in the first class. I've just ordered some and will be picking them up tomorrow. Also went to Tai Chai. Didn't do an awful lot there as the instructor spent more time talking. But she seems to be a good teacher. I'd forgotton some of the moves but at least if you stand in the middle of the row you can copy the others.
Congrats to any losers this week that I missed.
Off to do some kitchen chores.
Bye for now.
Marie.

Hey, music teach!!! You hang in there! You are right, it WILL come off one day...if you are staying as close to program as you are able, it's gotta! One of these days, you're going to come on the Board and say GIRLS!!! I DID IT! PERSISTENCE PAID OFF!!! And it is such a fabulous WOE and we feel so good, how can we go wrong? Enjoy your pudding...every time I make it, my dh digs right in as if I made it for him, too...but I have no place to hide it in our fridge!!!
Thanks, too, music teach, for the atta girl...it sure means a lot to me and I am so encouraged by your excitement with me!

Hey, Rosalie! Only one pound more til you are at your pre-Holiday goal! Oh, you'll get there for sure!!! And thanks for the congrats -- it means so much to me! You are an inspiration to me with the exercise program you went to today...I am SO BAD about exercising...it's a wonder I have lost so well so far...but I know my days are numbered -- one day, I will quit losing so well and the exercise will have to begin!

Hi Gang
Getting ready to go home and grill out some steaks. Boy am I dragging today. Got to go buy DH a suit for our cruise. Valeu City had them for $99. He doesn't wear one much so don't want to put a lot of money into one.
Sounds like a pretty good day on losses. Should have totaled them all up for a grand total loss.
Jenn, I am so excited for you. I know you are bursting with happiness. Your honeymoon sounds so lovely. Sometimes it's the simple things that are such pleasures. I am sure you will be a beautiful bride. Please post some pics. Congrats.
Deb, I'm with you on the car expense. It's one thing or the other and it always costs $$$$. Man you always make me hungry for Carbolite. Sure wish I could get some here. If everyone is telling you that you look better at this wt, maybe you have set your goal too low. I know how you feel about being where you want to be. Everyone asks me if I am finished losing and when I tell them I have 20 more they always say that will be too much. But I don't think 165 is thin. But sometimes we are not a good judge of ourselves. No I don't eat the ducks. But he makes them wrapped in bacon and the people who do eat them love it. Just can't get over the fact that they are ducks. Plus I hate that he is gone for 10 days and a 26 hour drive (which they drive straight though). It makes me crazy. I'm with you, I like the crust best on the pot pie. If you have the recipe handy, great, but don't go to a lot of trouble. I will check at the HFS for the other one. A/C is till out, SIL hasn't had time to get by and don't know if he can even fix it. I probably will just let it go for now. With all the expense of the basement flooding and it is cooler at nite now. I think I can make it.
Yellowrose, I know what you mean about Lili. I am worried to death we are going to get more water in our basement and my DH will be gone on his trip. I can't imagine how the people in La and Tx must feel. If yu are having wine every day, I would maybe not have any until the weekend. Maybe that will help. I feel the same about once you pass a certain set of numbers on the scale, you never want to see them again. I mean NEVER. Good luck
Mercy, I had a feeling today was going to be a big "loser" day. 3 lbs is awesome. I am doing the  for you too. With all this dancing I'm doing today, I should be losing some pounds. LOL
Bob, Just had to comment on something Deb said to you. About believing that you can do it. I think that is so important. I have done every diet know to man,The whole time I am wishing time would pass and the wt would be gone. This time when I started I knew I was going to lose 110 lbs. Normally I would have been overwhelmed with such a big number. But this was so easy to do and the wt came off so fast at first that my confidence grew and I actually believed in myself and the longer I stayed with it the more I believed I would get off the 110 lbs. Now I have 20 to go. I will get there and so can you. Try believing in yourself. You are worth it.
Idblond, My heart breaks for you. It's bad enough dealing with your hand and now you have to worry about it spreading to your leg and foot. I truly hope the this WOE may help with your condition. I think it takes a long time to control cheating. I don't know if I can control it that is what keeps me on the straight and narrow. Heck I can't control the amount of SF ice cream I eat, much less a big cheat. Your MM was a good one.
Heartmom, What a precious story. It's the little things in life that make us smile. Hope those bug bites clear up. that is strange. Great going on the 3 lbs. See it will come off it you just keep doing what works. You'll be in those 18's before you know it.
Debyj, I hope the scale is kind tonite. I think it will be. It seems like we are on a roll today. Hoping that the job turns out for you. That would be great to get rid of that drive. Glad Max wasn't more than just a strain.
Toni, 1/2 lbs is a 1/2 lb. I'm sure next week will be even better. OK your on! But I have had 2 weeks of good losses, so I will probably not lose next week. Plus DH is going to be gone and I will have to fight the boredom thing. I plan to re-read the SB book. I started this last year while he was gone so I think I need a little boost. Let's just wait and see next WIW. Good luck. Sure hope DH hears something soon. Waiting is terrible. Good luck at the dentis. Glad it is you and not me. I hate them. I need the laughing gas to get out of the car.
ChrisB, Yes we had noticed you were not here. Wondering about you. Isn't it great to be in a new set of numbers. Keep up the good work and drop in when you can.
Music, keep hanging in there. The scale will move soon. How exciting about the kicker. Now you can say you know somebody on the team.
Rosalie, Sounds like your wt class will be fun. I bet that will jump start you losing again. That last pound will be gone before you know it.
LKF, You are so upbeat and complimentary. I always get a kick out of your posts and you are so prompt to reply. You have a great attitude with this WOE. You should be very successful.
Have a great evening. See ya tomorrow.
La girls, please stay safe and be careful. Lili is getting worse.

Hello Everybody! No, I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth. I must tell you that we went to TN last weekend and had a BLAST!!! My two nieces are going to the same college I graduated from. What a difference over 20 years makes! New buildings, changed buildings, deleted buildings, and WAY younger kids attending. At least they all looked a lot younger. Ha!!!
During the weekend, I ate whatever I wanted. We went to my favorite barbecue place and I wasn’t about to omit everything on the menu. That led to some serious southern sweet tea drinking and I swear I had a hangover the next morning. I definitely overdid it on that tea. It was so yummy. I don’t know what those Tennesseeans do to make it taste so wonderful, but it does.
I also have to share that for the past two weeks I have been really LOW about staying at the same darned place on the scale while staying on program so carefully. I kept turning down all those desserts and other things and saw no improvement. My clothes were not getting any looser either. I was really getting frustrated. I know that I’m not describing anything new. We’ve all been stuck and in the pits.
I decided that I really needed a jump start. So I pulled out all my old WW stuff and started counting my points. I knew that my portion controlling was non-existent. So I think the counting and the journaling is really going to help.
So I haven’t had time to read the board. Looks like you all have been busy this week. Five pages already!!! Way to go, you all!!! I saw that SOL made an appearance. Good to see she’s still alive and kicking.
GATOR---I noticed your post about the chat problems. I remember that you have an iMac. I run on the apple platform too on my iBook. Are you running OSX as your operating system? My husband was able to get me into the chat room by launching classic (OS9) and running Netscape through that OS. If you have that option, you might want to try it. What you described about being told to log in, but not giving you any where to do so is exactly what happened to me. Good luck. Let me know if you find a solution and what it was. I may want to copy what you are do ing.
Gotta go, guys. I have an extra early morning tomorrow and I have things to do before the sunrises.

Hey Everyone!
All I can say is PRAY! We are about to get hammered with a serious storm. I'll get online as soon as I can - I'll give updates for as long as I can. For Andrew we didn't have power for over a week - and this is much worse than Andrew was for us. So, just PRAY that we have houses after this. It's now up to 140! As BOB would say - OH MY GAWD!
Love ya

Quilter--Yes I have both OSX and OS9.2. I cannot seem to get on through OSX because I get that dialog box about re-entering my name. I finally got on with no problems by using Internet Explorer on my OS 9. I was having trouble with Netscape on OS9 because all the lines in the chat window would run together and I would end up with one black blob. I posted to Suzanne in the problem board, and maybe she can tell me what to do.
Fruit--Watch out for the storm surge. It looks bad. We’ll be praying for you, Tiger Lady!
PS--I wish you were coming to Gainesville in 2 weeks. :(
Debbie--Stick to your goal. People will always say you look fine the way you are. But you will feel that sense of victory when you achieve what YOU set as your goal. You looked fabulous at your goal.
Had a good time on chat last night. It was so nice to talk to the 2 others there, and I learned that Melf is now 15 pounds lighter than when I saw here here in Orlando. And I thought she was thin then!! I am beginning to think that my thyroid is having some real effect on my inability to lose to any extent. I have been eating 1200 cals. per day and losing, at best 1/2 lb. per week. If I go over that 1200, then I don’t lose, or even gain. I actually get hungry some days. Melf told me she eats 1500 calories. And is losing. So, I guess my doctor and I will become good friends until I can get this under control. I feel great, I don’t have any lethargic feeling at all. The only way we found out about the thyroid is through a blood test for my yearly. He is a big fan of SB, but even being legal--if I go over 1200 it doesn’t seem to cause me to lose. I go back in 2 months because my dr. will check my new blood test then.
I heard a great idea for everyone: a new way of visualizing how to eat, even on SB. When you serve yourself at any meal, divide your plate into fourths. In 2 of the fourths, or half the plate put your veggies and fruit. In one of the fourths put your meat, and in the last fourth put your starch, if any. So you will be loading up on your fruits and veggies and keeping the meats and starches low. I thought it was a novel idea.
Gotta go. All you gals on the Gulf coast, be careful and we’ll be praying for you.

BOB---Well, if the truth really be known, we went to TWO different barbecue joints. The first (and all-time best) was The Ridgewood out in Bluff City. The other was The Red Pig in north Johnson City. It was their sweet ice tea that did the number on me. Those volunteer leaves are just now beginning to turn. So it was mostly green down there still. But still incredibly beautiful. Wish you could have enjoyed this wonderful weekend with us. Hey, did I read that you are going to WW to get weighed in? That's such a great idea. I considered REEEEjoining this week but decided against it, because I just spent $40 on a new digital scale. The numbers are SOOOO large that I can even see them without my glasses!
GATOR---Wow, you are really good!!! I'm glad you found a solution to the chat stoppage. Very cool for you. And believe me . . . I'm going to remember what you said when I'm struggling to get in next week. Thanks for sharing.
Good night everybody! Catch ya later!

Ok friends
Looks like the storm is heading almost directly for us now. I'm really scared now. I've got my matress in the hall and some valuables. My stomach hurts and I feel like I'm gonna vomit!!! BOB - can't leave - they've got a curfew on the roads so I'm stuck. They just issued the first tornado warning for the area- I'm so scared!!!
Hope to talk soon!

Hello everybody...((hugzz)) We are having a wonderful vacation. Praying for those of you in the path of this storm.
Congratulations to all the losers and those who are still hanging in there. I stayed the same this week. *smile* I'll take it.
It wasn't a typo when I said size 30 *smile* I wear a ladies 8-10 or size 29-30 when it goes by inches...kinda like men's pants.
Sorrry for not responding to everyone but I am pooped this evening. A few more days of vacation and I should be able to start posting better again. But I am reading and being touched and blessed by you all.

Thursday Morning Quickie!
FRUIT---Honey, I'll pray that a blanket of safety covers you and all our other beloved SBers who are sitting in the face of that storm. Hope with this morning you awaken to calmer weather and no damage to you or anyone around you. Keep us posted.
Just wanted to report that since Tuesday I'm down three pounds!!! Wow, does that ever feel good! I really like this new digital scale. Takes all the guess work out of it, so I feel like my weigh ins are true. That's a mental boost, for sure.
Hope you all have a good day. Take care, Missy and Shirley and all the rest in the LA area!!!

Just a quick morning note to Fruit and Shirley and all who are in Lili's path -- I am adding my prayers for you, too! God is in control...and He cares about you.
Jack-K, talk about ME being upbeat and supportive! You had to have said a word to everyone on the Board! What personal care and concern you exhibit! Thank you for just being YOU!
Debbie shared something with me by e-mail in counseling me about chocolate that I found really helpful...hope she doesn't mind me actually copying and pasting it here 'cuz if y'all are anything like me, this might help you, too:
The higher the cocoa content the less sugar it has in it. For a serving of the 85% there's only 5 grams of sugar, compare that to milk chocolate. Fat is still an issue though, so once again, moderation. SB doesn't say anything other than 60% cocoa, they don't say when, how much, etc. Read Montignacs book, gives better info. BUT, if you are going to induldge, only a 1/2 ounce
and no more than 3 times a week. If it's a trigger food, stay clear of it. I didn't have my first piece of chocolate until close to 1 year of being OP. Don't play with fire, you'll definitely get burned. Save the chocolate for later, much later!
I know many of you already knew this but some of us newcomers might benefit by this good counsel!
Everyone have a great day and y'all in Louisiana, please get back in touch with us when you can to let us know you are O.K. Feel our prayers!

Missy and Shirley--my thoughts and prayers are with you! I've been through these storms and know the fear and anxiety. I'm sure everyone on the board is thinking of you today!
Jenn--I don't know if you will see this before your big day--but you have my best wishes for a beautiful wedding and a long happy life with your sweetie! Please be sure to post some pictures when you get back on the board!
Heartmom--Bug bites?????? If its not one thing it's another! Is your trip still on for next week? I hope Boogie has gotten over his cold. My prayers remain with you, Ashley--and especially Boogie!
BOB--Yeah--it s**ks that it's not all gone by Friday!!!!!!!!! This is one of those times where it really helps to take it one day at a time. A lot of little losses will add up to a really big loss!
I wish I had time to talk with everyone else. My participation on the board is likely to be sketchy until after November 5th. I will be thinking of you and will try to look in and read the boards from time to time.
Love you all!

Morning Everyone:wave:
Sorry, I don't have time to post to everyone individually this morning, I have a few errands to get done before I have to go get the kids from school today.
Was able to get in my walk today. I almost didn't go, you know that old story, but I got out. I tried to get some jogging in but I just wasn't in the mood, so I walked probably 98% of it, took me 59 minutes flat.
Hoping all in the path of LILI aren't getting blasted too hard. Keeping my fingers crossed we'll hear from you all soon and let us know that all is well. Can't believe MISSY even posted getting ready fort his, how cute it that!:D
I'm going to try and catch up with all the posts later, possibly off line if that's what it takes. Hate when I get behind.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

MISSY!!!!! I heard the storm is down to 100mph, but the surge is what they are scared of. Batten down the hatches...I'll be think about you and honestly will be very anxious myself until we hear from you !!! Just hold on to HUBBY and your bird~~~
MELF....I don't worry about you so much if you and HUBBY are at the hospital...That's where we would go if it comes this way..sometimes it's nice to be part of the "hospital family" especially in times like these...Keep us informed and let us know that you're safe...are you close to the water...surge wise I mean?
IS SEF BACK FROM VACATION YET?????
QUILTER...I'm been to the PIG , but I don't like it as much as the FIREHOUSE. Did you stop by RICHARD A's for a cold beer? Yes, I went back for the structure...I'm not following their program though...I just can't eat all of those junk foods they promote...THAT GAWD I'm not a pop drinker, or snack food junkie like my buddy who is going with me. I just can't imagine
wasting good chewing on cardboard! If I'm gonna eat, give me MEAT AND CHEESE!!!
SUSAN...I've smacked myself up side the head this time and I am doing one day at a time...;) I guess that I've just never been ready...just thought I was...it's actually different this time and I'm taking the time to enjoy what I'm picking...plan to eat LOTS OF FISH...I bought some wonderful salmon, had them cut it into portions and threw it into the freezer...I'm sure I'll need some butt kicking along the way, and there is no doubt in my mind that I CAN COUNT ON GETTING THAT DONE RIGHT HERE!!! :^:
I better get to work...you know how this place feels about me being on this PORNO SITE!!!

Happt Thurday
Can't believe I'm not wishing for Friday. DH leaves tomorrow for 10 days, and I just hate it. I miss him terribly and with DD at college and the other DD works until 8:30 at nite, I'll be lonely.
Watch out, I'll be on the board non stop.
Sure hope all the La girls are ok. Hoping it passes quickly. Saying bunches of prayers. I can't imagine being in all that.
Got out today to walk/jog. Didn't mind it to much. I went to bed at 9:00 last nite and got rested.
Quilter, It's all that darn sugar they put in that tea that makes it soo good. Nothing better than southern sweet tea. Sorry you are o frustrated with your loss. I think journaling and the portion control will help a lot. I think we all get carried away with our portion sizes. At least I do Glad you are back and on the board again. I missed you. Great going on the 3 lbs loss. Awesome!
Fruit, I pray that you are safe this morning and all the other girls down your way. Hopefully it will be moving through quickly. Please stay as safe as you can and let us know as soon as possible.
Bob, If you are skinny by Friday, I want what you are doing. You can do this, I have faith in you. I agree, WW allows way too much. You never kill that craving and once you get to goal you quit counting points and go right back to your old ways. We have a Fire House here. Went once. It was really good. Don't know if it is the same one. I jump right in line to kick you if you get in trouble. LOL
Gator, Hope you get your thyroid fixed soon. That would be tough eating 1200 calories and still being hungry all the time. I had heard of that dividing the plate concept before. That is the way my plate looks since I started SB except there are maybe more veggies.
Country, Oh I get it about the pants now. 30 would be good inthat case. Glad you are enjoying your vacation. Catch up on your rest.
LKF, I always try to address everybody if I can. I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings and I care about everyone here. Ont he chocolate, tht goes with any trigger food. I never ate the SF ice cream until Feb 5 months after I started, and now I can't stay away from it. So if there is something like that, just be careful. It can stall you.
Red1, Hope yu have a great day.
Fillise, I know you will be busy until election day. It can't get here soon enough. I'm already sick of the political adds and mud slinging. Try not to work too hard.
Deb, You sound like me yesterday. I really didn't want to go out. I didn't mind it today, but I didn't get to run near as much as I would like. Good thing you don't have a job, you couldn't fit it in with all your running around.
Have a great day.

Good morning everyone:
Have we heard from our Louisiana gals? Hoping and praying that everyone is alright.
Jack-K - Hope all goes well with your basement. We have a sump pump for our sewage line. Our house sits below street level and *#@t doesn't run up-hill! We have a light that comes on if it goes out, but boy have we had a few close calls. Hope DH has a fun and safe trip. 10 days is a long time. I kind of like it when DH is gone for a few days, but then I start missing him. Did you find a suit for him? Since he doesn't wear one very often, you might consider renting one. I think you can rent one through the cruise lines and it's pretty reasonable. Also, one less thing to pack. Also, most of the tux rental places do a cruise special that gives you a week-long rental. Just a thought.
Jenn - You probably won't see this until after you get back, but best wishes on your upcoming wedding. After all you guys have been through, a nice quiet honeymoon will be just what you need.
Deb - Yep next year is our 20th wedding anniversary and we've already got a cruise booked and I'll be thin!!! I went through my closet this week-end and got rid of a bunch of "heavy (read fat) clothes". I'm determined that I'm not getting there again. I've gone from a tight 22 to a tight 16 since doing this.
Yellowrose - When are you coming back to Texas? Yep, us TX gals definitely need a get together. We could meet in the middle or either direction. I'll bring the tortillas (is everybody else jealous?)! Hope all goes well with your daughter.
Mercy - Congrats on the loss!
IDblond - I think I agree with what you've said. There are certain foods that I really miss that don't seem to be trigger foods for me. In other words, I can manage a bite or 2 every now and again and it satisfies me but doesn't get me off track. However, there are certain things that I know if I touched, I would be gone forever. Like right now, I would kill for a "real" coke. I know it's like a gateway drug, though. Before I started this WOE, I probably drank at least 3 a day. I really do miss them, too. But I know that once I had one, it would be all downhill.
Heartmom - WTG on the loss. How's Boogies cold?
Toni - Hey, a 1/2 lb loss is better than no loss and tons better than a 1/2 pound gain!
Music teach - I'm really rooting for the Texans. I've always been a die-hard Cowboys fan, but Jerry Jones just makes me so mad!! I'll be watching for your cuz'!
Fruit - Are you OK????
BOB - Did you see Amazing Race last night. Completely forgot about it and was out walking. Got back just in time to see the 2 girls arrive last. They sounded like they were soccer moms from Texas.
J Red - I know your son is at the Naval Academy, do you have a U.S. Navy League chapter where you are? There is one here and they have dinner meetings monthly. Tonight, the speaker is the commander of the USS Constitution (Old Ironsides). They are a great organization and their meeting have been very interesting and informative.
LKF - Girl, you are such a positive addition to this group! Keep it up.
Guess I better go now. Talk to everyone soon. Have a great day!

YOU ARE, TOO, TRISH! It really encourages me to see so many of y'all addressing each and every one of the gals on the Board -- it means the world to us all. I can't possibly do that myself so I hope y'all understand -- I just kinda jump in and out real quick. Good afternoon. Just getting ready for my dentist appointment. Thank goodness the stitches come out today.. Its really starting to bother me.. Walked on my treadmill this morning. We're supposed to get cooler here so maybe soon I can walk outside a little to make it not so boreing. I'm working on a good loss for next week. LOL... Later today I think I'll make another big pot of soup for tomorrow. Got lots of goodies to put into it.. And it sure helps to have something ready for lunches. Prayers for you all in Lili's path.
Bob- Are you going to watch Survivor tonight? You can do it girl.. Wow you're making me fired up....
GatorGal- The plate idea sounds good. I tend to make my servings bigger and bigger. Sounds like you're going to fight for your body. Good for you!!!!
Fruitloupe- My prayers are with you. Hang in there gal...
CountryMom- Glad you're having a good vacation. Rest up there...
THe Quilter- Big congradulation gal on that 3 lb. loss..
LKF- Thanks for printing Debilli's message. I haven't had chocolate since last March when I started. You are so encourageing and I love to see you popping up everywhere...
Red1 and Fillise- A big howdy to you both.
Debilli- Sounds like you're busy busy...
Jack-K- Well Jack K you'll just have to post lots while the DH is gone. If mine gets the job he applied for in Kansas he'll be gone all week and home only on week-end. I hate the thought of that... I get lonesome to..
Trishaloo-You're right I'd better not complain about 1/2 lb. I gained the week before.
Guess I'd better go get some shoes and socks on and finish up getting ready for the Oh my gosh DENTIST!! Have a great day...

Toni, are you a chocolate lover like I am? Then you have done good, really good staying away from it since March! I gotta do that! It's best for me to just stay clean away from that delicious stuff...probably for life! Glad your stitches are going today...you watch, it will be over before you know it and you'll wonder why you dreaded it so!
Jack-K, you just spend all your spare time while DH is gone with us! We're not as much fun as having him with you but we'll do our best to cheer you up and give you lots to do...before you know it, he'll be back in your arms!

WHEW! I made it! We are still having strong winds - 75 + but we didn't lose power - can you believe that? The storm ended up taking a westerly turn and it weakened A LOT! It went from 145 to 100 before it actually hit land. I'm still very scared of tornados - there have been many in the area. Actually - in SEFs area - so I hope she isn't home yet! MELF's area took the direct hit of the storm. MELF - let us know ASAP that you are ok. Don't know when we will go back to school. A couple of areas in lower Terrebonne Parish have MAJOR flooding - like shoulder deep. The storm surge came over the levees there. For those of you that aren't familiar with our area - we are BELOW sea level. So, all of the schools in the lower part of our parish and MANY homes are severely flooded! I'm gonna get off the computer now just in case we lose power with the high winds - but I'll be back ASAP! Thanks for the prayers - I love y'all!!!

Yahoo, Missy! You made it through!!! See, God took care of you! Sounds like it calmed considerably before it got to you.
Now, if we can only hear from SEF and MELF -- hope we hear from them soon though getting on-line with us may not be on their high priority list.
I'm just thankful you are O.K.

LFK- it's not vacation- we're leaving for Philly to go to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. This is where Joseph will have reconstructive, open-heart surgery. The surgery will be on Oct.10th.
Our surgeon is Dr.Spray. Please pray that the Lord will be guiding him and his staff throughout and after the surgery. Please pray that he doesn't have any complications- there's so much that can go wrong with this operation. Thank you.

Oh, Heartmom, I missed something very important in your post. Please forgive me! For some reason, here I thought you were all excited about going away on vacation. Oh, my...I am so sorry. I hope you will accept my sincere offer to pray with you that Dr. Spray will have great wisdom with no trouble whatsoever. We all here on the Board will be anxious to hear from you when you return. Meanwhile, feel our prayers for you and your family, especially Joseph.

Man I had a long post all ready and my computer "dumped its memory" whatever that means and I had to shut if off and lost it. So I hope I didn't miss anyone, If I did, I'm sorry.
So Glad Missy is safe, now to hear from Melf and Sef.
Trish, we installed a new sump pump last nite. Hope it holds out. I thought about renting a tux ont he ship, someone said they were $100, rental places around here are $185. what a rip off for something you "rent". Plus I wouldn't have to pack it. He still needs a suit for other dinners and you never know when you have to go to a funeral. I got rid of all my fat clothes too. Don't ever want to wear those again. I went from a 22 to a 12-10. It's a great feeling and not to have to shop in the plus sizes. I'm not a big chocolate person, but I have some SF chocolates in my desk, but I had to give them to another girl in the office, because I can't stop eating them.
LKF, we love having part of our group. I'm gonna hold you to it. I'll be on here a lot.
Toni, Hope the dentist wasn't too painful. Yuk on DH being gone all week. I guess that would make the weekends fun :censored: You don't know what to wish for in that case do you.
Heartmom, Boogie will be better by Sunday, I just feel it, and everything will go great with his surgery. How can it now with all these prayers coming your way from this board. {{HUGS}}
Missy, So glad to hear you are OK. I was so worried. It is a tradgey with all that flooding. Just glad you are ok, and hopefuly Melf, & Sef too!
Not too much going on tonite. DD is home from college on Fall break so going to fix her favorite, oven fried chicken and cook some chili and chicken salad for DH to take to Canada and help him pack and just enjoy my last nite with him for awhile.
Talk to you guys tomorrow.

Jack-K, enjoy DD being home and fixing her all those goodies...and when DH leaves with all his yummy food you are packing away for him, you get back on this Board when DD isn't craving your time and we'll be here.
Gotta leave y'all for the weekend, though -- Thursdays are the end of the week for me at work and I won't be able to be back on until Monday so y'all behave yourselves and miss me!
See all of you Monday!

Hey my friends
It's now about 5:00 and we are still having some gusty winds - but I think we are out of the tornado stuff now. I talked to my sister and grandmother that live around MELF in Lafayette and they have lots of trees down and no power. My sister's neighbor had 2 trees fall on their house. My sister had one fall on her fence that she and her husband built - which was beautiful - not your ordinary fence. My grandmother lost one of her huge oak trees but luckily it didn't hit her house. So, it looks like my family did ok. Now, if we can hear from our other friends. It may be a while since they are out of power there.
See ya!

WIW on Thursday because I was too busy typing papers yesterday.
I was down 2 pounds from last week, that makes a grand total of 40 pounds. Just 26 more to go.
Trish: I don't know about Navy League, but we are very involved with our usna parents club and there's a big alumni chapter here.
Missy: So glad you made it through, anxiously waiting to hear from Melf. My folks live up the road from Lake Charles towards Shreveport and she said they had bumper to bumper traffic last night headed north. But this morning they were all headed back south!
BOB: After the whooping the Hogs took from Alabama and the way the Mids are playing, I may not watch any football this weekend!
Gotta run to a meeting I'm having at school. Anybody know what Destination Imagination is? Well, I get to organize the teams for my school. It's a creative problem solving competition, used to be Odyssey of the Mind.
Later,

Bob---Well, how are we gonna fare this weekend? I'm afraid to watch!! My dh is all excited about GA vs AL game. He is going to the game. I'm sitting on my hiney and watching UT at home.
I"m sooo sorry i can't post individually---i swear i cannot remember everyone's names. Is there a way for me to look-back while posting??
Well, i'm not gonna post my WIW in cause i gained 3 pounds!! Goes to show you what happens when you go off plan. It's okay though cause i got my resolve to do better back!!
Max(dog) is doing just fine, thanks everyone for asking!!
My parents just got back from Gatlinburg, they hiked mt leconte. It's like 5 miles up and 5 down(of course). They got t shirts and were really excited!! My mom has lost 60 pounds and runs circles around me. My dad is in excellent shape also. But, they are so proud that i quit drinking and smoking that they just say that my weight will come off in time. I just fill the void of beer and cigs with food and gotta stop it!!!
Everyone take care----debyj:D

Just wanted to say that I'm thinking of all those who were at the brunt of Lili. Looked pretty wicked on the news. I heard that nobody was seriously injured.
Believe it or not, we're getting a piece of Lili too. I guess the outside edge. It's supposed to get really windy later today.
My modem got fried AGAIN the other day, but my provider had one to me the next day. I missed writing in on WIW, but I was down to 166! Down one pound. I had to keep getting on and off to check cause TOM came that day too! I usually bloat up and gain. We'll see if it stays for next week.
Better go. I have some household chores to do and I want to get out to the store early before the strong winds come.
Bye for now.

My first full week back to work. Am I glad that is over. Looking forward to the weekend. We have search and rescue training tomorrow. The first time that I have ever used a GPS to search for people. This ought to be interesting. My kids are coming over for dinner tonight. We have been getting together on friday nights. It has been alot of fun just sitting around and sharing what has gone one for the week. Still eating good. Not having any starches. For me this is working.I just need to get my butt in gear and get walking.
Missy- So glad you are safe. I haven't heard from our friend in St Amand yet. I am going to try to reach them today. I hope they are ok. I read in the newspaper last night that Abbeville could have suffered some due to the swells. I hope Mary and her family did ok. I didn't realize that you lived so close to where I was visiting. When we went looking at the homes we were very close. We are going to be back out there soon. My next visit will probably be during Mardi Gra. Not sure if it will be this next year but definately the next. I need to get my pics scanned so I can share them with you all. Hang in there!!!
LFK - Ridgecrest is about 140 miles north of Los Angeles. It is on Hwy 14 going north to Mammoth. It is out in the desert. What part of LA did you live in? Do you have family here? Do you ever visit the west coast? If so we will have to get together.
When is the gathering in January? I saw that someone had asked I propbably overlooked what the answer was. I may have some travelling to do in orlando and might be able to make it. I have a class that I am going to try to get into and I think is is the middle of the month.
Zanne - Way to go!!!:) Keep the scale go'in down!!!!
debyj - I know what you mean about trying to remember who is who. I just scroll down and check the post below. I also have typed off line and then cut and paste my post into this window. I have even made a list of everyone and kept it by the computer, that is a long list since we have so many on the board. Not sure if there is an easy way. Your parent are right stick to it and the weight will come off .
jred - 2lbs.... that is great.
Well I better go get ready for work. Talk to you all late on.
EVeryone have a GREAT day!!!! :grouphug:

Good Friay Morning Everyone:wave:
I know, I keep promising to get caught up, and honestly, I keep trying, keep starting a post and keep getting interrupted and can't get back on. I can't even promise to catch-up today. I have a crap load of stuff to do, almost didn't go for my walk because of all I have to do today, but even ELI made comment for me to go, so I got in those pesky 4.5 miles, and thankfully so : )
Michael has so nicely invited a bunch of kids over after school today to watch movies. The house is a wreck and I have to get it cleaned up, not that I'm trying to impress the kids, but I hate the way it looks and I guess it's time to do it, before the parents come and see it, now that's embarrising! I also have to make copies at Office Depot for ELI as well as do a few other errands. I'm hoping while the kids are watching the movies that then, I'll have time to catch up with the posts!
Gotta run, hugs to you all!!!
Have a great weekend!

DebyJ--I do the same as Zanne: I bring up a wordprocessing page, and then resize it to make it smaller. It fits up in the top part of my screen. Then as I read the different messages I can click over to the word processing screen and type a response as I read. Then when I get through all the messages I will have a full page or 2 of word proscessor replies completed. Then I just copy and past into the reply box. Simple as pie.
Can’t talk long because I’m way behind on my French and have to get some studying in.

A little room to breathe!
Hello everyone! Overcast here today--we may get a little of the hurrucane's rain--which we could use!
Missy--So glad to hear that you and your family came through the storm ok!!!! Now to wait and hear from Melf and SEF. Let us know when you can how the clean up is going.
Deb--good for you on getting those miles in! Have fun cleaning--I did that for my SLAH party last week and probably won't do it again until after the election:s: . Speaking of which--I bought an ultra steam shark at Sears--it just blasts the mildew out of the grout in the bathroom--no need for smelly tilex. It is also great for getting the gunk out around fucets and the tracks for the glass shower doors. My next job is to try it on cleaning the oven--which hasn't been cleaned since i moved into this house eight years ago!!!!!! My mom is convinced I'm going to burn the house down because of my dirty oven.
Red1--Have fun with the GPS. When I went to NC a couple of weeks ago I rode with a couple that has a brand new BMW with a GPS system. They programmed in our desitnation and it kept giving us directions--it was kind of wierd but kind of cool at the same time.
debyj--Give it time, the weight will come off! You and BOB want to lose it immediatly! Well--I guess we all do!
BOB--Auburn and NCState are both off this weekend--what am I going to do withmyself?????? Ok I will be rooting for UGA--but other than that?
heartmom--prayers for boogie that the last of his cold disappears before tomorrow! Many many prayers for you on the 10th!

Good Friday Morning
Lili is coming through. Boy is it windy out there. It has just started raining. I had to go to a meeting at our job site and we went up on the roof and mad I was holding on for life. I had to have one hand on my hard hat too!
If any of you have eve been to Churchill Downs for the Ky Derby or races and you get to come back, you won't believe the changes. They are adding 3 more floors of suites and its amazing. Bob I know you have been there.
DH left around 9:00 this morning. It's going to be a long 10 days. I didn't walk this morning, wanted to stay in bed and cuddle a little longer. I'll walk to nite if it stops raining.:rain:
Hooked up my computer last nite and there is no place to plug in my DSL line. I am really bummed out. TOld my DD we are going to have to switch back and upgrade hers or something. Now I won't be able to get on the computer at nite or over the weekend. I am really bummed out.
LKF, Wish Thursdays were my last work day. Have a great weekend. :flow2:
Fruit, So glad you all are safe. I saw Lafayette on the news, Looks like they got hit pretty hard. Glad all your family madeit through with minimal damage.
Jred, WTG on the 2 lbs and Wow a total of 40 that is great. Those 26 pounds will disappear before you know it.
Bob, I have never watched the RACE, but I may have to check it out if there is a team from Ky on there. Have a good weekend.
Deby, We are going to get a lot of wind and rain today from Lili too. Stay inside. I open the notepad in MicroSoft and read and swtich back to write and just keep switching back and forth and then I copy and paste into the reply section. I also made a list of people, with their names, real names, where they live and a little tidbit about them so I can keep people straight. WTG for your mom. The hike sounds like a killer. Jump back OP and those 3 lbs will come right off. It doesn't pay to cheat. I ate thking off the same pounds twice.
Zanne, WTG onthe 1 lb. Bummer about the computer modem. Those things drive me crazy.
Red1, Yeah the first week after vacation is a killer. You keep thinking this time last week I was.... Makes you wish you were rich. Your Friday nite family ite sounds like alot of fun.
Deb, You are such a sweetie. You are always doing for the kids, doing for your DS or Doing for Eli. I hope they appreciate you.
Have a great day. Be back later.

I started this eons ago and haven't gotten to post yet. Some of this is going to be really old by now so just humor me. Sorry it's so long, but there's too much to catch up on!
I am sad because we were going to get satellite tv and were excited about it - especially since we hate TWC. Well they came out to install it and the beautiful huge oak tree in our front yard is perfectly positioned to prevent us from being able to use the satellite no matter where they put it on the house. So….we're stuck with TWC. BOO HOO!!!
GULF COAST GALS - I'm glad things weren't as bad as they were intially expecting! I'm hoping to read good news from y'all!!!
BOB & MELF - HA, HA, HA!! You two are sooooo funny! (read sarcastically) :D
MELF - I hope you stay dry this week-end! I read somewhere that Vanilla extract mixed with a little water will run off the mosquitos. We have a bird bath that came with our house and I'm sure it's been a breeding ground for those buggers. I'm going to add some vanilla to it and see if it helps. I'm going to try it on me and Vixen, too. There's too many in our yard not to!
BOB - I'm sorry you're having trouble with meds! My Glucophage is supposed to HELP me lose weight and mine hasn't budged at all. I feel your frustration. I think a trip to O-town might be just what you need! :s:
BKM - Give that big Knight a hug for me and tell him Meister and I are pulling for a speedy recovery for him. Sorry we haven't been able to hook up in so long. Maybe things will slow down here and I can get out there to a game.
JRED - I'd love to hear what your hubby thinks of SAP. We're using their Business Warehouse reporting tool, too and it's not much better. I heard the Army is going to implement the Logistics module of SAP and that really scares me now that I've seen how much damage it can do first hand! I know people who work at Siemens who HATE it and Perdue says they've been on it for a couple of years and still haven't gotten all the bugs worked out. I just don't know why people keep buying this thing since I haven't heard one nice thing about it.
FILLISE - PLEASE come down in January!!! I may not be able to compete in the Half Marathon so I'll definitely want company on the sidelines! What color cheerleading outfit do you want us to get? BOB said she'd wear whatever I picked out!
LKF - Howdy! I start over all the time. :please: The people here are great. Just jump in when you can with whatever you can. No one is going to be offended or get their feelings hurt. Keep asking those questions - I always learn something new when people ask questions - besides, that's what the board is here for. I love Splenda and Agave.
MARIE - Sooo good to hear from you! I guess we're still weight buddies with similar challenges. I'm not glad that you're having as rough a time as I am, but, selfishly, glad that we're still so close. Only I haven't lost 40 lbs. to get stuck, only 8. So popcorn is legal?? That would be WONNNNERFULLL NEWS!! When I did Weight Watchers I would eat a bag of Jiffy Pop Low Fat Popcorn and a can of tomato soup for lunch with an occasional breast tenderloin or two. It filled me up and kept the points low, but the tomato soup has too much sugar in it and I thought popcorn was illegal. You are always such a great wealth of information. Thank you!
ZANNE - Black Bean Hummus? OMG, you must have DEBBIE, BOB and others jumping for joy! I'm going to have to go look that recipe up!! You know I'm part Lebanese by association since joining this board thanks to DEBBIE!
DEBBIE - YEPPERS, I'm here! Not bringing much good news with me, but, hey, I'm here! How many miles are you up to?? I've been caught in a few hard rainstorms on my walks. I wouldn't mind so much if my shoes didn't gain 10 lbs. and start feeling uncomfortable. Hey! Tell Lauren, I'm a sister Thespian. We used to have the most fun initiations in h.s. when people joined the club. I wish I could use a saboteur (sp?) as my excuse, but you've met my Meister and know that just isn't the case. The poor guy follows the plan better than I do! But my co-workers and their donuts almost every day, well….that's another story. One girl has gained about 20 lbs. just in the year that I've been here and she's said she's going to keep bringing in donuts and bagels because she wants us all to be fat like she is right now.
SERENE - Alas, I have read that about water 1/2 your weight and, I too, was sad. I was doing pretty good for a while there, but not near as many days as I don't do good. I do know it helps, though.
TONI - I used to make apple butter in my crock pot and YUMMY! It smells SOOOOO good! I'm going to have to look into FILLISE's recipe.
TRISHALOO - Hope you had a wonderful anniversary celebration! We just celebrated our 6th. We went to our favorite hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint. They have killer "soul food" they call it here. I call it "home cooking" Fried okra, collard greens, homemade cornbread, green beans and snap peas that would make some made with Wiley's Seasoning taste bad…..oh, and the most tender ribs you've ever had, awesome chicken and PULLED PORK (which no one else in Florida seems to even know about). I didn't eat anything on plan for that night. OMG 53 LBS?!?!? AWESOME!!! Congrats!!!
MUSIC - I think the spouses who need to lose a weight themselves are the hardest to get support from. We've seen that quite a bit. The most frustrating thing most of the time is when the hubby starts the diet too because he loses weight sooooo much faster than us women do.
HEARTMOM - Thanks for the welcome back! Glad to see my Mississippi friend is still here! I hope Boogie continues to get healthier every day.
CHERYLCO - There's an Edy's Sugar Free Chocolate ice cream that's really pretty good. I don't eat it a lot, but it certainly takes the edge off those cravings.
DEBYJ - Howdy! Good luck keeping Max calm and settled while he heels! If he's anything like Vixen you might want to look into something called "Rescue Remedy" it's sort of like valium for doggies. Won't hurt them, but keeps them calm when they shouldn't be bobbing all over the place. Good luck on the new job lead! I commute an hour each way to work, too, and with all the crap going on here it just isn't worth it. So…I'm looking, but I'm much happier to be looking while I'm employed than sitting at home with no money looking. In the meantime, I've got a very active account at the public library full of books on tape.
QUILTER - (((((((((((((HUGS!!!!!))))))))))))))) I so miss you and I'm still trying to finagle a rep ridealong with my sales manager in Cleveland! Isn't it amazing how much younger those college kids are? I swear they were much older when I was in college!
Gotta get back to work! I'll pick back up where I left off maybe….Might just start fresh again on Monday, but I'll be lurking until then!

Good afternoon everyone. Well I survived the dentist yesterday and got my stitches out and two cavities filled and my teeth cleaned.. Was so pleased when I was done. Solshine, What a bummer about the satellite TV.
Toni, That veggie soup sounds good. I didn't think those pretzels were legal? Aren't they make with enriched flour?
Serene, Thanks for reminding me about Deb's Bday. I thought about it everyday this week eaxcept for the main day. Getting old. How are you fairing with all the dogs and trips to Tranquil's and Gram's houses?

Just a quickie as I wait for ELI to come home...
Thanks for all the bday wishes. I tried to keep a low profile about it, but I guess it's hard to keep things from you gals:^:
I haven't done anything more than clean up today. As BOB said, I was scrubbing my floor when she called today-it's clean, for now, trust me, it won't last for long:nono:
I've eaten a lot of crap over the past 24 hours. Started out with the SB legal cheesecake I made last night, that's now history. So is the entire bar of Lindt 85% chocolate, along with some cookies and chocolate covered coffee beans, which now have me shaking. The night's still young though, so who knows what else is in store for my poor stomach. Why do I do this? I know, it's my bday, but that's just a poor excuse. I think it's because stupid me stepped on the scale today and didn't like what it said, and with well knowing it was going to be up due to TOM just ending and it's always up afterwards:shrug: Though I know tomorrow I'll be fine. At least it was all SB Legal, even the coffee beans, just not in the amounts I ate, that's all:stress:
There are 7 kids (including Michael, though minus Lauren) in the family room watching movies. My nephew is coming over later, so add one more, plus a few more coming even later. ELI wants to go out but I don't really feel like it, and really think it's best if I stay home. They're all good kids, not that I can't trust them, but I think it's my responsibility to be here, and forego the dinner, plus, with all the crap I've eaten I'm not even hungry, nor would I even know where I want to go if we did go out.
Oh, finally finished counting those coffee beans, all 4,916 of them!:fr:
ELI surprised me with a really nice card and a gift card for JCPenneys with a note to buy a ring. I told him he has to go with me, otherwise it just doesn't feel like it's from him. Men really do take the easy way out, at least mine does, when it comes to giving gifts. Mom sent me a nice bday check which will be put towards bills. I never buy myself anything, just can't bring myself to do so when I have bills that have to be paid, but I think I just may go ahead and get my hair done (it's been since the beginning of March, since our last SB Get Together) AND I'm still thinking seriously about getting my nose pierced. Do you think that's too juveinile for a 41 year old to do???
Well, I'm going to exit this post for now. I'm hoping sometime over the weekend to catch up with posts, though I just can't make a firm promise to do so. Tomorrow I am taking Michael downtown to a filming class they are starting through the Children's Museum that runs til March 22nd, so no garage sales for me (withdrawls, for sure). I won't be home til the afternoon. If I can, will try to get a post done after the kids head out with their Dad tomorrow night and before ELI get's home.

HAPPY FRIDAY ALL, ESPECIALLY YOU DEB - I HOPE YOU TRULY HAD A WONDERFUL DAY!
Deb, You mentioned something about an email, didn't get it. Please add me to your list ldblond@hotmail.com
All you gals weathering this storm my thoughts are with you, it sounds like you did ok Fruit, I know Melf said she would be at the hospital, I hope she is well, good to hear SEF is away from home and not having to endure this thing. To any of you that I missed, please know I pray for all that might be affected by this beast.
HeartMom, My prayers for your son and his medical team. I won't be able to check-in as my next block is the day before, but I promise, I will pray.
Music, Habits are hard to break, and what's worse is that we constantly have to remind ourselves that a little bit will hurt us. Today started out ok, but turned out to be pig out on bad carb day...thankfully everyday is a fresh start.
Jack-K, thank you.
This weekend brings many chores for hubby as it's time to plant grass, unfortunatly I'm no help this year, but I think I'll entertain the kids by letting them do some fun Halloween projects.
Love to all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEBBIE!!!!! Hope you made a great day of it, even with a house full of boys.
OH, BOB - The fans were booing the hogs too, on Saturday. My DS was watching the cars that they let park on the yard of the house they have for my nephews, 2 blocks from the stadium and they could hear them!!!! She said they hadn't heard that in a long time. DB and his wife flew in with some AL friends and they loved the game, hmph (wife and friends, B is a UofA alum). We should have an interesting evening. I don't know yet if we'll get the game way out here, we aren't exactly SEC country. The MIDS play Air Force and they are ranked 25, so that will be another long afternoon for DS and the D&B. They have a marching competition in Denver after the game.
So glad you LA ladies are okay. I saw how the levee broke down south of Houma, glad you're okay, Missy.
Nite-nite,
Jeanie

Good Saturday Morning:wave:
I've been awake since 4am (no thanks to those coffee beans I ate!). I tried lying there, wishing I would fall back to sleep but it wasn't meant to be. So here I am, starting this post at 6am, figured if I am up, what better way to bide my time than to get in some sort of a post.
So, my bday was no great shakes. We didn't do anything. Not only did I not feel like leaving the house with all these kids in it (what kind of responsible adult would I then be?), but it was late by the time ELI got home and here in Miami, any place decent to eat on a Friday night, you're going to have to wait to get seated, not to mention a drive to get wherever you want to go, and it would of been even later. Eli made some veggie dish which was good. Besides, I ate enough crap to last me a lifetime, well, at least til my next bday. Thanks again for all the birthday wishes!!
Want to get in some replies before I head to the shower...
JRED, CONGRATS on being down another 2lbs-that's great news! Michael did Odyssey of the Mind and Future Problem solving when he was younger. A house full of boys? Nope, there were 3 guys and the rest were girls. They were coming and going all evening. I think all together, Michael included, I had 8 kids, and that was with 2 not showing up that said they were coming, there could of been more, those who said maybe. They're all good kids, thank goodness. I haven't assessed the damage in the family room yet, but I know there's pizza boxes, cups and remants of stuff that will surely make it seem I never cleaned or vaccumed the carpet in there. They all watched movies last night. Michael loves foreign films and it seems his friends do too, so they watched a couple of those.
LDBLOND, got you on the e-mail list. Yours wasn't on since you don't have a BIO on the BIO BOARD, but I now have you added in:D Hope you have a good weekend!
BOB, thanks again for the phone call! Did you get my message a short time afterwards on your voice mail? Speak of the devil, eh? Pretty cool about the McFalafel in Egypt. Wonder if they're available all over the ME. One things about falafels though, if they're not fresh, forget it, they're awful reheated!
SHERRY, thanks for the wonderful "personalized" birthday greeting!:D
JACKK, as you seen, no dinner last night, not for his lack of trying. No, I didn't eat ANY cake (that's about the only thing that didn't seem to pass my lips yesterday). No actual present yet, hopefully, will find something this weekend:)
MERCY, don't ever feel bad about not being able to post to everyone, many cannot, you do what you can as often as you can. Even if it's just a quick check in, it's better than nothing.
SERENE, well, if you would of come down, I'd of had a good reason to do something besides clean my house!!!;) What's the latest on Sabrina? I know you must be hearing from her more than I. How are the dogs behaving? Hey, too bad you weren't here, while I was on my major eating binge, I sure could of gone for a flan at Rio Crystal!!!! The way I was going yesterday, I probably would of licked the bowl too! Thanks again for the b.day phone call!!!
TONI, glad to hear your stiches are out and your teeth are now all pearly white and filled. I need to go to the dentist, I've been saying so since I broke my tooth back in April. By this time, I have to think what he's going to say when he sees it, not to mention what the bill will be, which is why I keep avoiding the situation of going!
SOL, my goodness, what a great bday present it is to see another post from you, I thought my eyes were deceiving me! Miles, not any more than I was doing a year ago, still at 4.5 miles. I'm just waiting for it to cool down a bit so I can try to do more jogging and for a little longer length. At the speed I'm going now I just hope I make it in the time limit they give us for the marathon. I'll be walking much of it, esp. when it comes to going uphill. I know you'll be beside me all of the way and we'll make it to the finish line! Can't wait to see you and everyone else come January. Just want you to know, each time I see a post from you, you make me smile:) Tell Vince I said hello! How's the new house?
FILLISE, I surely don't need to clean my oven to burn down my house, I can do that with cooking alone! Was FROG'S SLAH party at your house successful? My sister has one of those steam cleaners, which I borrowed. It helped clean the grout in the kitchen, though I helped it along with some cleaner, but I thought it was a pain to use-have to get it boxed up and give it back to her. At least I know it's there to borrow should I want to use it again.
RED1, that would be WONDERFUL if you could be in Orlando at the same time! It's the weekend of January 12, 2003, which I think is that Sunday. We are planning on arriving on Friday and staying until after the race on Sunday, til Sunday evening. Going to have a SB SLUMBER PARTY on Friday night-for sure, it will be a blast! I will post more info this week, before I turn around it's going to be here, so will get what I can posted so people have time to make plans.
ZANNE, CONGRATS on being down another pound. Sorry to hear about your modem, I can relate to that problem all too well.
DEBY, sounds like you have very adventurous parents! Not only are they proud of your accomplishments, you too should be. I know I can say we are as well, you are making great positive strides in your life. You can make anything happen! You're proving that to be true. Hoping that the next time we go to NC that maybe we can get over your way. We try to take the kids for a day at Dollywood if they are open. We left the day they were opening this year, so didn't get to go. How far are you from there?
FRUIT, glad to see you weathered the storm. Hoping to hear from MELF soon. Not sure if SEF went home early, but, last I remember, she was going to go back to one of her family's homes (being still on vacation) tomorrow, the 6th, so if she didn't go back because of LILI, she's still on vacation. Please e-mail me to make sure I have your correct e-mail. I keep getting yours kicked back to me as being undeliverable. Also, still keep getting a recording from the phone company when I try to dial your number. Not sure why:shrug:
HEART, hope to hear the BOOGIE is better and you are on your way tomorrow. If so, please know our hearts and prayers are with BOOGIE, you and the rest of the family. If you are going, please let us know when you are going to return. Is there any phone number you can give me while you are away that I could possibly call you at to check and see how BOOGIE (and you) are doing so I can update everyone on the board, or will you have access to a computer to get on line. You know we will all be anxious to hear the reports on how he's doing. Let us know!
TRISH, good job on getting rid of those clothes that are way too big on you-no need to keep them, you won't be headed back that way again! Cruise? Hope it's a ship that's from the port out of Miami!!!!!
LKF, trust me, you want to steer as clear as you can from chocolate. Hope you had a good weekend!
QUILTER, you keep up the good work! Thanks for the e-card, you couldn't of picked one more fitting. Will call you soon!!!
COUNTRY, thanks for the clarification on the pants size. I'd long forgotten about being a 30. I don't wear jeans anymore, not since I was a teenager, but I do believe, at one time in my life, I too was a 30, though it may of been for about 30 seconds!!!!
BIGK, thanks again for the bday phone call!!!! Hope Sarah is feeling better and Jeff is mending daily.
Well gals, I'm going to go hit the shower and try to get in a couple garage sales before heading back home to take Michael and his friend Alex to see what this film class is all about. Hoping I won't have too much trouble finding the place (near downtown) and with parking. Many streets down that way are closed due to the Gran Prix of Miami being down there. I'm looking forward to seeing what books and videos are avaiable there since it's the main library.
Hope you have a wonderful day, and a great weekend. I'm back on track today and I know today will be a great day!!
Will check in later today.

:dizzy: Hi everyone!!
I am new here, well that isnt exactly true, I did fill out the bio a couple weeks ago and I have been reading everything that all you wonderful people of written on the SB WOE and all the motivational thoughts. I needed to hear them thoughts in a big way since I am they type of person that thinks in what should of done or how I can change the past which is impossible. Anyhow I am here looking for guidance and support and to also offer some support. I need to loose about 80 pounds to get healthy and happier with myself.
I am excited in getting to knowing all of you and Happy Birthday to Deb (I am guessing).
A question, I hate water, how can I get to liking it????
Thanks for taking the time for reading this. I am not sure what to write and I hope that I can make some life lasting friends here.

Happy Saturday everyone... We got a little cool front last night so have a wonderful fall day today. To lazy to get dressed and walk outside so did my treadmill this morning. Then cleaned a little and put up my Halloween decorations up. I think my kids might come from Colorado this month on there way to North Carolina where they'll be stationed now that my son is a drill sargent. Made a giant pot of vegetable soup yesterday. So now I have my lunch for the week. I love having something like that to eat.
Debilli- Forgot to wish you a Happy Birthday yesterday. So heres a belated one!! Hope you had a great day. And a good week-end..
Mercy- Don't you dare give up on posting... Just do it when you can. Theres lots of people here with very busy lives and can only post once in awhile. So don't feel bad....
Jack-K- Well leaping lizards I didn't even look on the pretzels. Whats a matter with me. Thanks for letting me know. Thank goodness I'd only eaten a tiny bit of them.

Idblond- Hope you're having fun doing Halloween projects. The beautiful fall weather makes me want to bake stuff. Etc.

Hi Everyone
My dil came home from shopping at Costco the other day and presented me with some small bars of Lindt's 75% chocolate. The first time I had ever seen these. I have since bought some for myself - there are 24 35 gm bars in a box. I'm trying to stick to 1/2 a bar for a snack. That is even less than 2 pieces of the bigger bar which is what I usually have. O.K. sometimes I pig out and have three or four. Luckily I am not a big chocolate eater. I can go weeks without even thinking about it. But I must say that whenever I see someone mentioning it on the board I run right to the fridge to grab a piece. ;)
Deb - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY. :hb: :gift: :hat: Hope the kids didn't give you too much cleaning up to-day.
Missy - Glad to hear that the storm slowed down before it got to you and that you are safe.
Melf - Hope you are safe too and that your area didn't suffer too much damage from the storm.
Quilter - Congrats on the three pounds off. You are doing great.
Debyj - I too use Word Pad when I am posting. I would recommend though that you save it as you go, just in case you lose it. At least then you would be able to retrieve what you had saved. A few times when I have been writing in Word Pad it has disappeared on me and I haven't a clue why. I probably hit some wrong keys somehow but no idea which combination would make me lose the file.
Zanne - WTG on the one pound lost.
Solshine - Yes, we can still be weight buddies. I just can't seem able to get below the 200 mark and stay there. But I am really concentrating on staying op and keeping the starchy carbs down so hope to see some positive changes soon. I'm not ready to give up yet. By that I don't mean giving up on this woe, which I know has to be a life long commitment, but giving up worrying about losing any more. I wouldn't say that popcorn is legal as nothing with corn in it is considered legal on SB. I was just quoting some information I had and giving my opinion. It's up to each of us to decide if we can eat certain things without jeapordizing our weight loss. What works for one person may not work for another. But as I said before I can't see that eating it occasionally could do much harm. Too bad you couldn't have the satellite t.v. I guess you had to decide which is more important to you, the tv or the tree.
Ladykwak - Welcome to the board. How about trying a little squirt of lemon or lime juice added to your water. This may make it more palatable for you. I do this sometimes when I get tired of drinking plain water.
BOB - I saw your post about the VIRUS after I had sent you an e-mail. Luckily I didn't have any damage done as I got a warning when I clicked on the attachment so I decided not to open it.
Gotta go. Will go through the rest of the posts later. I have to go and get lunch and get ready for work this afternoon. I'm having pan fried tilapia coated with Fish House Blackening Spice. Yummy.
Marie.

This is likely the last Saturday I have to myself before the election--hence it is noon and I am still in my jammies!
Deb--I'd like to file an official web mistress protest. I don't think you get to omit announcing your own birthday. It just doesn't seem fair somehow. Anyhoo, I hope you had a happy birthday. Sounds like you got some good cash prizes--and I hope you pick out a really nifty ring! Best belated birthday wishes! Frog's party was very successful--we had a great time!
Ladykwak--Welcome! Just jump right in and you'll get into the thick of things soon. We are a very friendly bunch.
BOB--I got the viruses too! Fortunately my virus protection caught it so no harm done. I run McAfee active scan and so far so good! It sent out mega warnings all day yesterday so this one must be pretty nasty. I will watch your game tonight--and Bama--UGA.
Toni--I'll let you know how the steamer works on the oven. When I clean it. probably sometime in January. :D
SOL--What date is the mini-marathon? I'd love to come! I cn wear any color except bright orange (sorry BOB).
Today is Jenn's wedding!!!! Many happy wished for a beautiful day!
Have a good day everyone!
Susan
ps--ok me and the karma with the scales--BOTH my digital food scale and my bathroom scale have quit working. I don't mean weighing wrong--I mean thay have just stopped working--as in nothing on the display! Both are less than two months old. AARRGGGHHH!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DEBBIE!:gift:
We celebrated Sarah's birthday last night AND today. She's nine today. Not a baby anymore.:bb: She had three friends spend the night and Dennis took them on a hayride. They had a good time. I don't know how late they stayed up. I just blocked all the evil channels on the dish and went to bed. My eating has been terrible. Cake, ice cream, more ice cream...... You get the picture.
Have a great what's left of the weekend!:)

Sorry that I have not been able to post till now to let you all know that we are ok. We were very safe at the hopital. What a storm! So much devastation here. Our house is ok, but my oldest DD & her 3 boys are now homeless. Their mobile home is a total mess. Seems like it was probably a tornado that came down her road & took out several homes along the way, but thank God she was not home, although where she was took a pretty bad hit as well. She & the boys have moved in with us for now.
We are still without power or water & not sure how long it will be. There are still broken power lines lying across roads in our area. This may take a while. Will try to get back on as soon as power returns, whenever that will be.
We have canceled our vacation, but we came to my DD's in Dayton, Texas for the night. We had concert tickets to the Gaither's at the Compact Center in Houston tonight. We will return home in the morning after church.
We have managed to ice down the freezer, but I know that won't last long. By the time we get back home I will probably be hauling everything to the trash. We're all electric, but do have a gas grill, so we can fix food.
Well, it's almost 2 AM, so if I don't get to bed I won't make it to church in the morning. Thanks to all of you for your prayers. God heard them because that category 4 hurricane sure did drop down to a 2 before it hit us. We're so thankful of that. If it had been still at 145 mile/hr winds when it hit us, I sure hate to think where we'd be now because of what we got with the 100 mile/ hr winds that did hit us. :yikes:

A quck post before the race begins---
BOB- and Debyj-Have your hearts started beating again????? Six overtimes--good GAWD! The UGA-Bama game was a thriller, but fortunately UGA pulled it out in regularion. I guess they were man enough!!!
Monet--I got a Maste's degree from UGA--so they are one of my favotire teams--just not when they are playing Auburn!
Melf--so glad to hear that you are OK and that DD and grandkids are ok. Things can be replaced--people cannot. My thoughts are with you as you try to get things back to normal.
jaci888--your questions: Agave is indees a syrup--much like honey only with amuch lower GI. You can find it at health food stores or on line (sweetcactusfarms.com--I think). I use it and LOVE it! As far as I know all triscuits are legal--I usually buy the plain reduced fat ones--but check the labels for hidden sugars on the flavored ones. Unsweetend carob chips--I think they are legal, but have never used them so perhaps someone with more experience on that can weigh in!
OK--time to go make some lunch and watch the race!

Okay, I'm going to try this once again!
Didn't walk this morning. I woke up tired, though I went to sleep at 8pm last night, but that was due to me being up at 4am that morning and then, feeling a bit barfy as well last night (hormones for sure). I could of forced myselt out there if I really tried, but I didn't, figured I'm entitled to take a Sunday off once in a while. Woke up at 4:30am as well today due to ELI having to go to work early, though he's suppose to be off today (continue having those visions of him dying among the coffee beans). Luckily, it didn't take too much to get me to fall back asleep after a while. So, up I got and on the computer I go and my fingers were just typing away and then.....MY COMPUTER FROZE!:fr: Couldn't save anything for the life of me-I was pissed!!!
As I mentioned, ELI is SUPPOSE to be off today, but had to go in this morning. I figured just for a couple hours, nooooo, how could I think that! He was there for 7 1/2 hours AND to make matters worse, he has to go back at 6pm til closing. One of his main guys is in the hospital and he has to take his shift. He doesn't know what's going to happen this week with the 40hrs this guy is suppose to be working for him, how to cover his hours-do I even have to wonder?????
Took Michael to this film thing yesterday at the library. There's 40 spots available and there was about 140 kids. They say they're going to use a lottery system to choose those lucky 40 kids, so can only hope that Michael's one of the lucky ones, will know on Friday. I had a good time looking at the books there, found a few that I hadn't seen or heard of before, of course, they're recipe books.
Speaking of recipes...as you all know, it's hard enough for me at times to get in posts here on our regular board. I REALLY need to address the recipe boards and this is going to take a LOT of time to work on. I haven't touched them since SUZANNE changed our board layout and they really need to be updated and worked on. I was wondering what you all thought if I should take the time that I post on this board, for, say this coming week, and work on the recipe boards and trying to get them somewhat situated in the time given that I would post to everyone. It's not like I wouldn't post for a whole week here on the weekly board, I would do a short, general post, address anything that needs to be addressed (new members, questions about SB, etc), though I would ask for someone's help who's on the board daily to maybe give me a heads up about these things should I miss seeing it. I just think I need to give attention to the recipe boards. As you probably have seen, I haven't posted a recipe in ages and it's because I'm just adding more work to doing all this. I have oodles of recipes to post, and now with more books, well, I really do need to get this done. It won't be done in a week, but at least I could get some things done. ANY THOUGHTS???
Once again, THANKS FOR ALL THE BIRTHDAY WISHES!:hat:
Okay, enough about me, I need to get in these replies before I find it's Monday and I'm once again crying the blues...
LADYKWAK, WELCOME TO THE BOARD!:D
http://members.aol.com/eldemila/welcome_flowers.jpg
Glad you've decided to join us! As you have seen from reading the boards, we are a very friendly and supporting group of people and if it's support, guidance AND friendship you are looking for to help you reach your weight loss goals, you've definitely come to the right place. I hope that you will have the opportunity to come meet some of us in Janaury in Orlando to see for yourself how wonderful members from this board are! Don't we all wish we could go and relive the past! I don't think there's a single one of us that would take the exact same path we've followed to this day. What's past is past and now you have to look towards the future. Whatever you have done and tried in the past that didn't work, use these events and experiences to learn from the past for you won't repeat the same things from today on. We all have the power to lose the weight, but as I always say, you have to decide what's more important to you, eating XXXX or staying OP and losing the weight. It's ultimately in your hands and if you want it bad enough, it can be yours, you just have to decide what it is that you want bad enough. I too hate water and many times I don't drink any throughout an entire day. Trust me, it's not good and I'm not proud of it. Other days though, I can down 1.5 liters of it. As some have mentioned adding lemon to it, here's a few ideas I have-Luzianne Flavorings, just add to taste, cold brew tea bags, or herbal teas, I sometimes add fresh pressed cranberry juice, I put a tbl or two to a glass of water (16ounces) and a little sweetener. Lakewood is the brand, I believe, and it's expensive, but well worth it since it's concentrated and you are only using a tbl or two. You could even try adding a little vanilla extract and a bit of sweetner to your water. Thanks for the bday wishes!!! Once again, WELCOME!!
TONI, cool front-lucky you! I'm looking forward to the day I see it below 80 in the morning hours!!
ROSALIE, 75% Lindt Bars? Why is it you in Canada always seem to get such great stuff before we get it here in the states, that's IF we ever get it?!? Wonder what the difference is between the 75% and that of the 70% and 85%.
BOB, what does this virus that you had attached do? I don't remember what I've downloaded from you, but I'm wondering, would the computer keep freezing up as it's doing from trying to open whatever? I can't believe the highway robbery of those booties, geez, did I get a bargain, or what?
FILLISE, you can protest, but I can over rule:D Really, I don't like anyone making a fuss, no one at home does, so I just tend to downplay the day. It ended up being just like any other. I guess it comes with age. I can't wait to see the pics you took when FROG was there. Did you buy anything interesting??? Sorry to hear about the scales. I'm sure the stores will replace them for you, but I just can't imagine them both biting the dust at the same time. Hmmm, could it be a murder-suicide! LOL!!! I've thought about doing both my scales in at times and I'm sure if they were close enough, they'd probably put each other out of misery and free themselves from me!
JACI, glad I was able to answer your question via e-mail. Feel free to post a question at any time. People will answer, I promise. Sometimes it's a bit slow on the weekend, but it will be answered!!!
MEL, THANKS! What else is going on with you? Are you still planning to come down in Jan. for the WDWM?
MUSIC, Happy Birthday to Sara! Sounds like you celebrated well with her. Thanks for having some cake and extra ice cream for me-you're a true friend;) How'd you know I did have my own? You must of read my mind. Tomorrow is a new day!
MONET, not sure what happens if you get a cold, don't think it would be much though. I just want a tiny, itsy bitsy stud put in, right where the nostril flairs. I've always wanted one and I've asked ELI quite a number of times recently what he seriously thinks and he says to go ahead and do it. He said it would probably be so small that he wouldn't even notice it, esp. without his glasses. They have them now where they are curves, so when you put it in, the inside just rests right against the inside of your nose, it doesn't hang in your nostril. I'm going to give it a bit more thought before I decide to do it though, not jumping in to anything. I've thought about it since I was a teenager, what's a few more days/weeks?
DEBY, well, then who knows, maybe one day in the near future we'll get to meet too! I've been to ATHENS, TENN once-we went to the Mayfield Dairy Farm there-YUM! Like I said, we go to Dollywood, and we did go to Knoxville one day, but I've never been to Nashville, so maybe we can take the kids over one day when we go back to NC.
MELF, good to hear you are all okay, though I'm sorry to hear about your DD's home. Trailers and hurricanes/tornados just don't mix well. During Andrew, there was a trailer park across from Country Walk (where no homes stood) and not a trailer was left standing. It's terrible to have this happen, but I know you're there for her and the kids and they'll pull through this with your support and help. I hope they restore your power soon and hopefully it's not too hot there where the heat and no a/c makes matter worse. We had no power for 10 days after Andrew and it was unbearable and I swear, I must of been the town B:censored:CH, I was so uncomfortable. Hope you don't experience this lovely effect. Keep us informed and good luck!
Well, it's now 7:30 now, and it seems I've gotten caught up. ELI is back at work. We went out for lunch and went looking for my bday gift, though I didn't get anything. Not in any hurry, so will take my time.
Going to go find something to post for Motivational Monday for tomorrow and work on getting tomorrow's board ready for posting.
Will see you all in the morning!

First things first.....HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!! Deb.
Yesterday is a blur. I told you I had Search and Rescue training. Well that lasted until about 1:00pm. We used a GPS unit to find the victim and then had to rescue him. It was fun. Learned some new things. The rest of the day was very lazy. Just laid around and watched movies. Then 10:30 last night we had a call out. Someone was lost in the mountains near our town and we went to find them Finally found them at 2:30am and by the time we got them out and on there way and got back it was 5:30am. Needless to say Ed and I have been dragging. We were able to sleep for a few hours. All in all it was alot of fun and good experience.
Melf: Glad to hear you and your family faired pretty goon. Sorry to hear about your daughter though. I am glad they were not at home. God was watching out for them.
Deb - Not sure but I think the weekend you are all going to be in orlando is the time frame of the class. I will check on Monday. If so I will put in for it. It is a new financial year and I should be able to get the class. What fun.!!!!!
LADYKWAK - Welcome to the board... You'll enjoy the friendships you make as well as the support.
I can't remember who's recipe was the stuffed jalapeno with cream cheese wrapped in bacon but they are great. We have had them twice in almost as many days. We could make a meal just on them.
Just wanted to check in... I have house work to do since I did very little yesterday.
See eneryone next week.

Hey Everyone!
MELF!!!!! I'm so happy to see you post girl! WHEW - was that a doozie or what? My sister & Grandmother in Lafayette are still out of power too - they are miserable! It's just so hot! Sorry about your daughters house....good thing she wasn't there. Glad you are ok my friend!
JRED: Yeah - that levee system down in Houma didn't hold with the surge. I actually teach in Houma and I wasn't sure if we were gonna get back to school tomorrow. But, we are - I'm glad because we are going to have to make up all of these days that we have missed - that's 5 in 2 weeks due to storms.
BOB: What a game - I fell asleep by the 5th overtime! Couldn't keep my eyes open anymore!
DEB: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! I'm so sorry I missed it! I'll e-mail you with my new address! Sorry I didnt' send it to ya!
Ok - talk to all of you soon!

Melf - It was good to hear from you and to know you are all safe. Sorry to hear about your dd losing her home though.
Deb - I'm afraid that was a typo with the Lindt chocolate bars. I just checked the label and they are just 70%. :o I was just happy to find the smaller bars. And they taste a bit nicer than the bigger bars because the pieces are thinner. We don't usually get things before you up here - it's usually the other way around. :(
