Diane-
You start all the threads...guess we are a bit lazy! Thanks though.

Nothing exciting to report today. I am having a great on plan day today...counting those points and journaling.

Good Morning all!

I had a great weekend, but not a great diet weekend. Lets put it this way on Sat morning I was having cheesecake and icecream for breakfast. I'm going to be skipping my appt at LAWL this week until Fri. I just don't want to see those numbers on the scale, know what I mean? lol I know I deserve it though, I really did indulge and enjoy. I never overate though, but I did eat everything I wanted! I think this weekend coming i'll do the 2day take off. I haven't done it in a while.

Diane- Are you talking about Karen Voights- cardio strength? She also has a very recent new circuit tape out, people on the Ya Ya forum have reviewed it as low impact and fun. They say they love the weight section. I know exactly what you mean about KV's voice. It's so dry and to the point! No jokes, not a word extra but for what exercises we're doing. But Cathe's is the only tapes that i'm going gaga for. Anna's tape suck!

Fran- I know how frustrating it can be to be diligent and not see the scale move. I too have cut back on the weights, cause when i'm in my weight lifting zone, I whind up seeing the scale never move or go up, but hardly ever down. So I cut back to doing a total body tape once a week, 2 light circuit tapes, and 3cardio tapes a week. What are you thinking of doing? What workouts do you do? Do you go to the gym?

I'll check in later ladies!

Oooooh. I had an off-plan weekend, too. It started when my BF and his friends wanted to go out and get BBQ. It continued with ice cream, and finally Fig Newtons. Argh! I'm determined to get back OP though. Tomorrow will be the first day being OP (I had the newtons today).

Oh well, right? It happens.

Hi guys. I haven't posted for a while, things have been really hectic. LAWL is going well for me though. I made it under 240, so I've had to readjust my Halloween goal. My time of month is rapidly approaching though, so i'm working extra hard to be diligent. Check out the new stats! I love this program.

Hi guys,
Did everyone have a bad eating weekend or wht? You can count me in. I intended to have a greta Sunday and after seeing what the scale said it completely threw me off. I could not stop eating yet I still popped in the WATP tape. Go figure!!

Kit- Thanks for advice. i have been currently doing cardio 3x and weights 2x a week but I am going to focus on cardio only this week.
gringa- great Stats!!:D Keep up the good work!!

x- Get back on as fast as possible without looking back. It is not what you did but what you do next... I have to listen to my own advice:lol:

Take care,
Fran

Kathy;
It is cardio strength that I have. I will have to check out the
new tape out. I had a good weekend for a change, I actually make it through the weekend without cheating.
Marcie I am glad you had a good day, I have to admit I have been doing La more than WW I could not handle the variety of food and I felt like a Yo-yo up and down all the time.
GringaGorita I am glad you are doing so well.
xYtx get rid of those fig newtons, some time I end throwing stuff out just because I can't handle it being there.
Fran I have the same problem with weights sometimes I go up also but I love the results with using them.
Does anyone know how to pass the Atkins advertisment, I don't know how many time I ended up on his site.

Good Morning,

This is my 3rd day back on plan and i'm doing great! It's "that time of the month" right now, but I weighed in today and only gained 2#, so that' s not bad for having cheesecake and icecream for breakfast over the weekend and now having my "evil friend", I'll take it!lol

Yup, most of us had a delicious weekend, lets get back to basics ladies!lol

Diane- congrats on making it through the weekend without cheating! I ordered my CXT upperbody today, i'm so excited! I'll pair that up w/ LL, boy am I going to be sore next week. lol What are you using mostly these days? I do Cathe for all my cardio's and the firm for my strength, only because I bulk up fast w/ Cathe. But I get bored w/ the firm, and I miss my Cathe strenth tapes, so I decided to do CXT u.b. and LL for strength once a week, w/ one circuit tape and 3 cardios. What about you?

Gringa- congrats on reaching your mini goal ahead of schedule! WTG!

xYTx- yup your right, a weekend like ours does happen. But as long as we get right back on plan, I don't think it should hurt that badly. How's it going today?

Hey Kathy:
I usually mix the firms with Cathe along with some treadmill.
I did Cathe's cardio kicks today. Boy did I feel whipped at the end. I don't use the 6-pack firms to much I find them a little to short. I also add in some Yoga zone along the week.
This weekend some of us from our center is doing the three-mile walk for breast cancer/ovarian cancer at Roosevelt park in westchester county. I am not sure if I will do it if it rains though. I did give the donation so i am sure they won't bug me about it.
I finally weighed in and did not have much sucess I am still the same, but I have been sticking to plan this week, which I am happy with.
How is everyone else doing?

Congrats to everyone who's getting back on track!!

Hi all!

I had another semi-successful day yesterday. For some reason, I can't keep my hand out of the cookie jar at work!lol Literally!

Diane- congrats on getting through CK! i've had that tape since I brought in '00 and still haven't done it. I'll put in on my roster for next week!lol I hear ya on the new firms, I was happy when I got them in the summer because they were short and it was hot out and I was going through the "I don't want to do anything" phase, but now, they are just collecting dust on my shelf. lol How many video tapes do you own? I think I have about 80videos, i've sold a lot on the swaps. I didn't know you lived in NY? I'm in Bronx, NY.

xYTx- congrats on getting back on track. Regarding your Sun problems, is it possible that you can have more attractive OP meals on that day, so you feel like your cheating but your not? Or you could workout on those days, keep busy w/ house work, socializing, etc? HTH alittle.

Erin- thats wonderful! Wow, 12"? That's excellent!

Hi Kathy:
I don't know how many videos I have I really never counted. I usually give the one I do not want to some one else. How do you make out in the swaps, I never tried it. They are really looking for those firms. Next year they will probably be available and some of those people payed through the nose for a $20.00 tape. When I do CK the next day my upper back and shoulders feel like I did a weight workout. So sore. But today I went and did tough tape and a abs section from ab hits.
xYTx for a while and still the weekends are my problem, last weekend I did well and I just made sure I ate everything OP and kept my diary.
er130 the measurements are fun, isn't nice when you actually see the results. I lost three feet at one point.

Hi guys. Well, I've officially made it through 1 month on LA. I'm still liking it really well. It helps that I like to cook. I must say, I'm worried about next week. It'll be my TOM and I'll be on vacation for part of the week in Chicago. I'm sure i'll be having some of that deep dish pizza and some beer. I'm just hoping I don't go too wild. Any advice for how to stay sane on vacation???

er130, I noticed that we started around the same time. Losing 12 inches is awesome. When they measured me, I was only down 3 inches. I lost weight in a lot of places they didn't measure though (upper arms, calves, etc.). I can really tell from my clothes. Anyway, just wanted to tell you good luck. We're all in this together.

Good morning all! It sure has been a hectic week! I have managed to stay on plan though! WOOHOO I have only done my WATP tape twice this week so far, but I will get it in today and tomorrow. So 4 out of 7 isnt too bad. I was shooting for 5, but things have just been crazy!

My scale says I am the same as a week ago, but maybe it is wrong....it has that problem occassionally. I have to work tomorrow and I am afraid I may not make it in to weigh in. I only have till noon, so I hope I can get out of here in time. I will get in by 6am in hopes of making it out in time.

Have a great on plan day all!

Good Morning all!

I have had a terrible diet week. I'm not even going to try to convince myself otherwise! I weighed in today and i'm up 2# from Wed. I haven't done the take-off over a 6wks so I'm doing my own version of it this weekend w/ the Hollywood diet drink, wish me luck. Everytime I'm done doing the take-off I come back more focused and fresh. So i'm hoping it will work yet again.lol

Good news- I managed to fit into a size 10! I'm so happy! My goal is a size 6-8 depending on the tayloring.

Diane- I've never had any problems using the swaps. Everyone that I have traded/swapped w/ has been very responsible. Granted there are the few stories about shady people but mostly everyone on the Firm YaYa site is cool. Did you hear about the new firms being filmed this month? I may give my FP's CF & WF another chance, since they are just sitting on my shelf collection dust. lol I don't think i'll be buying any of her new video's come this November or December though. I have to hear reviews first! God so many tapes coming out. Only ones i'm excited about is Cathe's.lol So CK works the back muscle good then? I'm going to give it a chance one of these days cause I love the CXT KB, so i'm sure i'll love that too. And your right, the firm is starting come this Dec. to release a lot of the newer video's on dvd. congrats on the 1.28 loss

Jibbelle- congrats on getting back on plan and staying there. I, however, have not been that lucky. Good luck for this Sun!

Gringa- Happy one month! May you have a very successful future!

Well, I managed to make it to Friday without cheating. So far, so good!! I'm preparing for Sunday. I have been skipping carbs and limited foods since my last cheat, so maybe on Sunday I'll have a limited food as a "treat." I really love 1/2 a bagel with lite cream cheese (as dairy exchange). Or maybe some fat free/no sugar added frozen yogurt. Something like that :) Thanks for the suggestion, I think it'll work.

Exercise has also been good this week. Between grad school and work, I often pull 16-hour days, so my goal is to work out 3x a week from now on. It's just about all I can manage, but my job involves lots of running about and lifting, so I count it as a moderate workout in itself ;) I had a very sedentary lifestyle when I was a student. The extra activity, while draining, is also energizing in a weird way. It makes me feel like I'm really trying hard to attain my goal.

Kathy - CONGRATS on that size 10!!! Before you know it, it'll be hanging off you, too!

I, too, would like to shoot for a 6 or 8. I seriously do NOT remember a time in my life when I wore a single-digit size. I don't know what that will feel like. I plan on using my LAWL money (that they give you back after you lose your weight) to purchase new clothes, because I look AWFUL in most of them now. The butts are saggy, the waists have to be cinched up with belts... even my BELTS are on the last holes. I just don't have the cash to buy a wardrobe in the sizes between my biggest time and my goal. Success is expensive!

Kitkat3NY

Good job on making so far so good OP! Congrats to you also for breaking into the size 10! We are on the smallest double digits, singel digits HERE WE COME! lol

I have gone from barely fitting in a 24 to a comfortable size 20. I was in Eddie Bauer a few weeks ago and tried on some size 18 jeans....I could get them on and zipped...but couldnt breathe! Maybe a few more pounds! Great Job! Be proud of your self. (Not to proud Though).

I just got back from trying on wedding dresses! I just went to look, but she talked me into trying on a couple. I thought I would look huge in the white foof so I was scared, but I looked really good. Well...as good as full figure gets! I still have 6 months to lose weight before I need to get a dress, so I am getting busy. The dresses I tried on were 16W and 18W! Much better than the 24/26W I was wearing a year ago!

Well, Sunday came and has (almost) gone, and I did pretty well. I had some nonfat ice cream to try to tide me over, and I ended up only cheating with an extra rice cake. On the other hand, I didn't have both eggs for breakfast, nor did I have my third fruit serving, so I figure it evens out somehow. At least I didn't binge like last weekend, so I consider this week successful. And now, another week of good behavior :) (pleasepleaseplease!)

Hello! I joined LAWL in August and am now 30 pounds lighter! :cp: I'm so happy with the way it's been going for me. My husband is doing it with me and he's also lost about 30 pounds. I'm just hoping the weight keeps going off like it has, I'm afraid of it slowing down too much and then me gaining weight again because I think it's not working. :( But I'm going to try to keep possitive about it! Gringa Gordita, What is the LA weight loss plan. I keep hearing about it but dont know what it is. Is it a diet center or what? I have been on WW for awhile and would like to find something to jump start my loss again. Any info you can give would be appreciated. Thanks.

Good morning!

I weighed in today and managed to loose 2oz since Wed. lol I'm just happy i'm holding steady at this weight. My mini goal is 150, I can't believe that it's actually going to happen for me this time.

Jadcie- LAWL is a diet center. IMO, it gives you faster results than WW because your being monitored on a one-on-one basis rather than as a group. There are no prepacked food, but they do "highly" encourage you to purchase they bars they have as snacks, sought of like the WW bars but w/ more force. They teach you how to eat and loose weight and when your weightloss journey is over they put you on a stability plan to figure out how much you can eat to maintain your weight, then you go into maintenence, and then your done. It's not lifetime (not that I know of) like WW. Like all diets it does go stale after a while but for the most part it is a good program. Perhaps others here could give you more details. HTH.

I weighed in last night and am down 2 more #. I am so excited. That puts me at 16 pounds all together in a little less than six weeks. This is a great plan. I have cheated some and still continue to lose. I may have a touch time, but I'll take my LA Lite and see what happens

After about two weeks of trying, I finally got the damn scale to budge again. MAN! It seems like it gets harder to lose weight as I go on! I wish I could step up my exercise, but I really have no time these days. I really needed to see results. Maybe they'll keep me from cheating on this long weekend :)

good news: I stayed away from pizza, birthday cake, AND snickers ice cream pie yesterday. It was SO HARD. :( :( :(

xYTx
10-14-2002, 10:10 AM
I don't know how this happened, but somehow yesterday I lost another 2 pounds. I am finding that my loss is much harder these days, and that it'll come in spurts like this. It's not very good for morale, since I don't see a loss for almost 2 weeks before it happens, but I'll take it. So, this means I have to amend my Halloween goal, I guess :) We'll try for 150 by 10/31/02.

I didn't get my exercise in yesterday, but I window shopped at the mall hardcore for 5 hours in heels. Hmm. I like that kind of workout :) I discovered that I can squeeze myself into a size 8 now, but it doesn't look very attractive. As I mentioned before, I don't think I have ever worn a single-digit size as an adult. I noticed that, when I go to choose things to try on, I am so used to being large that I automatically choose sizes many times too big for myself. So, I spent a lot of time in the fitting room.

Didn't buy anything, since I (HOPEFULLY!!!!!) will be too small for it at the end of my weightloss. Money is tight :( I really need my money back from LAWL. It's the only thing keeping me going to the center these days. They've been really militant about selling their supplements, and I always say "no." $90 a month for ONE BOTTLE is just a little too steep for me. But they ask every time anyways :(

I hope everyone's having a good OP weekend, long weekend for some of us. Take care :)

Hey guys, just wanted to check in and let you know I'm back from Chicago. I had a great vacation and ate lots of things i shouldn't have, so I'm paying the price now. It's the two-day take-off for me....bleeechhh. good news is that I was actually down a pound when I went in for my weigh-in. I guess that take-off stuff really works.

Jadcie, sorry I missed your earlier post about LAWL. Kitkat's explanation was right on point though. LAWL is a very structured program where you have one on one face time with a counselor three times a week. The food plan is very similar to other exchange programs like weight watchers or the diabetic diet. For example, I'm on the red plan (which is the highest calorie) because I work out so much. So, on a typical day I am supposed to have 2.5 servings of lean protein, 3 starches, 4 veggies, 3 fruits, a fat and a dairy serving. In addition, i eat two LA lites per day. The lites are like little candy bars, but you can also get shakes or soups. it's more than enough food for me! Anyway, hope that helps with any questions you have.

I think the wedding is going to be at the church on campus where I go to school. It is called Graham Chapel and it is beautiful! Here are pics from a wedding there: http://www.journalisticstyle.com/newgallery/102/O/o.htm

Have a great on plan evening all!

Can someone please help me keep my fingers out of the cookie jar at work!lol I just had 4 cookies! Well, I know it doesn't ruin the day but I just hate the feeling I get after i've cheated!

Anyway, I had a pretty ok day yesterday I had about 10 cookies as well, but my eating was excellent! Hopefully i'll be able to stay on track today and continue the rest of the week without incident!

Have a great morning everyone!

hey kitkat, I know exactly what you mean. there are all sort of sabotage foods at my office. i mean, i keep my house totally snack free except for some low fat grahm (sp?) crackers in case of a sweet emergency. but work, that's a totally different matter. someone is always bringing in cookies or donuts, and of course, all the halloween candy is out now too. WE MUST STAY STRONG! what seems to help me when i'm on the verge of cheating is to figure out how many calories are in whatever the cheat food is...when i consider how long it will take me at the gym to burn it off it really calms my appetite down! :strong: another thing that helps is that there's another lady in the office who's doing LAWL. in fact, she was my inspiration to join. she's already lost 60 pounds, so i run to her when i'm almost over the edge. the support really helps.

Thanks Gringa!

I'm doing my best here today. It's hard and the weather is so dark, cold and rainy, all I want to do is go home sit on the couch w/ something good in my hands. Tonight i'm going to make sure when I get home from work that I drop my bags and workout!

Thanks for the encouragement.

Kathy

Hello all, I'm so lax at replying you all do so well and seem to know each other so well. Hopefully I'll feel a part soon. I'm doing well on the plan and was so happy tonight when I didn't cheat with all kinds of desserts to tempt me when I was with friends. I have another night like that tomorrow too, but then I should do okay! I did it tonight I can do it tomorrow.

xYTx: I noticed that you started at about the weight that I did. And I'm encouraged that you are in 10's at 150 because I would so like to wear a 6 and my goal is 130, maybe I'll be close to that. We'll see come March I guess. It is so nice to know the date on which you are suppossed to complete your weight loss. It is a motivation.
