Looking Good, Feeling Great - Sexy short hair!

I have been envious of short hair for a long time but for most of my morbid obesity, my hair was shoulder length as I didn't think I'd look good with short hair. I was feeling good about myself so I decided to cut my hair shorter than I've ever cut it and I LOVE it!!
You won't believe all the compliments and people are coming up to me saying "wow you've lost a lot of weight". I've recently lost 10 lbs that were sticking on me but other than that, I've stayed the same for the last 2 years.
The thing I've noticed is my neck looks a lot thinner and longer and my collarbones are really popping. My husband also definitely approves.
Anyway, while looking for hair cuts, I ran into some awesomely sexy short hair cuts. I was considering going with something like this but the stylist said I'd have to be willing to devote some time in the morning to it but uhh yeah I decided I'd wait a while :

Anyway, what are your favorite shortish hair styles?!

I love short hair. My hair is naturally curly and I hate it. I usually keep it to my waist but last year cut it pretty short and have kept it there. But I have no style to it. It make me look older than I am. I need to look and find me a GOOD style. Thanks this will give me something to do this afternnon. Look for me a new do :)

I had very short hair or the last few years and am growing it longer now, for a change. I love short hair. I think a side part with the bangs getting longer to one side, then very short in the back is very sophisticated, especially with dark hair.
I also love asymmetircial hair!

You should shop around and find a stylists who knows how to cut curly hair which can be tricky. You might call salons near you and ask if they have someone who is especially good at it.

I had long hair but I just coldn't take care of it when I broke my shoulder so had it cut (trauma !) and had a perm, I don't like it and am condidering going into a shop and having it cut and styled. That makes me nervous, too.

Here is a pic I took to my stylist yesterday. After she got done styling it, it looked alot like the image. When I styled it this morning.....not so much. I love the length, but not sure about the style, esp. the long in front part. I'll mess with it and see how I get to liking it.

Three years ago I had hair down past my butt, and thought I'd never get it cut. Eventually I did, going up and down in length, settling on a pixie type cut, short in back and around my ears but getting fluffy on top. My hair is straight so the best I can hope for is fluff, no curl.
check my profile picture for my hair, but I'll see if I can dredge up a mugshot. When I like a certain look my hair gets I take a mugshot, and take that to my stylist so she knows how I like my hair, so I get the same look again.

My hair has been every possible length, from almost-to-my-waist to butch-short. The last haircut that I had that I really liked was nearly 2 years ago. I had this horrible moment of thinking that I was too fat to deserve pretty hair. I've just been hacking away at it myself ever since. It looks pretty awful. :(
This is the haircut that I want to get, at some point. Maybe goal weight? Maybe before?

I had enough of my long hair. I was going to wait until I lost more weight, but said "forget it! I'm chopping it off now. I had enought ( 12") and donated it to Locks of Love. I actually got it got 2x. The first cut wasn't what I really wanted, it's what the stylist wanted. He convinced me ( temporarily) that my face was too round to pull it off. I then went and got it re-cut the next day with someone else. She listened to me and agreed that I could pull it off. I guess the 100 or so people who have complimented me agree!
I say, why wait, chop it off.
Here's a couple of pictures The first one (blonde) was what I was aiming for, the next one is me with longer hair, and the next 2 are me with the short hair.

@Mulder - I can't believe how much that hair style changed your whole look! Fantastic.

Rochester, I see your point, but I don't feel you should have to wait until you lose some more weight to start the transformation. Start now. :D
Mulder, I will admit to total ignorance of who the blone is, but her hairstyle looks good on you. And you have a very cute dog.

Rochester, don't wait a second longer and get that haircut!!! Stop thinking that nonsense about not deserving it. You are deserve it just like anybody else. It is important to feel good about oneself, regardless of weight.
I love Winona's hair but I am afraid her cute face has a lot to do with the fact that she looks so terrific no matter how her hair is styled. Unfortunately, my hair (even with gloppy gel etc.) won't hold the spiky look, unless my stylist does it. But that's fine, I adjusted.
I have always loved asymmetrical haircuts and I used to have a very fancy one myself when I was around 30. The one that I would like to have, but I am not sure if I can (because my hair is so fine and I sweat like a pig when I exercise) is the hair of Ali Vincent's (the winner of The Biggest Loser, season 5) mom. I would DIE for hair like that. Her hair is quite coarse, you can tell (I have better pics at home, but this is the only one I could quickly find).

Mulder-The bangs are especially flattering on you!
Rochester-Add me to the "get it cut now" camp! You deserve it!
I am going to try to get a pic of my hair and post it here. I am liking it better. I don't have a flat iron, and I kind of like the way it is looking with my natural wave. Still not sure about the front, I combed it back more.

Annie it took me a while to get used to my hair and even longer to figure out what to do with it, of course, my idea of 'hair care' is combing, and I refuse to do much more than that, I finally found that a combo, read: build-up, of mousse and hairspray get my fine, thin hair to fluff on top. Running my fingers though from bottom to top doesn't hurt either. :dizzy:

Oh my goodness...wow! Thanks for all the encouragement! I might compromise and get a cute-for-now cut and save that stellar do for goal weight.
@Tomato - I love the haircut of the woman on the right in the photo! Is that the one you were referring to?
@Patchwork - Have you ever tried root booster? Garnier makes one that works fantastic and is a lot cheaper than the salon brands. A few spritzes of that, a few secs with a blow dryer, and...vavoom!
@Wannabe - Winana Ryder is SO hot and she always has the sexist hair! :)

I have naturally curly hair, but am fascinated with pixie cuts....but I know I'm not going to mess with straightenning it, and it can look like an afro otherwise. I have it longer in the front, the back is short- like boy cut short. I love it, and I also have utmost trust in my stylist. I get compliments on it from people I've never met and I don't have to do anything with it.... ppl often ask me what my husband thinks about it, like how dare I consider short hair because 'men don't like short hair', he's not the one who has to deal with it! When it was longer, people suspected we had a dog because of the hair on my clothes....no, it was mine.
I say go for it, but find a good stylist who isn't going to cut it just because you want it cut. I'd love the Posh Spice thing, but I also don't have the petite features she does. I have found there is a short hair do for everyone....it's just a matter of finding it

Haha... I'm actually aiming for the opposite. At my highest weight (probably around 220... didn't actually weigh), I cut my hair short. I'm now wanting to grow it out... to have it be gorgeous long hair by the time I'm down to 140. :D

When I first moved to IL my hair was to the middle of my back, and it's gotten progressively shorter. I didn't want the same hair I had when I was 21, which was the same that I had in high school. My husband is rather indifferent to my various hair styles. The only thing he says is that he doesn't want it to look like a 'shrubbery', i.e. an afro. I tried a pixie many years ago and it turned into an afro, or would be too short to even curl, like quite butch... otherwise he's okay with my hair. Not swept away by it, but then again, he's never had an emotional reaction to my hair

Yes, Betty Sue is on the right, she is Ali Vincent's (on the left) mom. Ali is a hairdresser so I always suspected that the haircut got created by her hands, but I don't know for sure.

Do NOT save it for your goal weight! Do it now! You so deserve to feel great right now. Like my girlfriends try to pressure me into doing something, can you hear them? DOOoo IT! Hairstyles change from season to season. Why not have the very latest do when it's super trendy? Don't wait.
I usually wear my hair chin length because it's the most flattering on me. Right now I'm alot blonder than my avatar.

I actually get what Rochester is saying. I am getting my hair styled soon, just layers, but when I reach goal weight I want a special haircut. I'm also going to buy a fabulous outfit, get a mani/pedi, and just celebrate by going out to the city to my first ever club visit.
I'm not waiting because I think I don't deserve it now, I just want to save it for the final reveal. ;)

I have stupidly thick, coarse, wavy, and now, 100% gray, wiry hair. Length just isn't an option - it quickly becomes a bush. The shorter I go, the better I like it. Only problem is that I have to offset it with more makeup and better earrings, I just got another 2" lopped off the cut I have in my avatar last Saturday.

Annie, your new do is cute! Did you color it as well? The color looks deeper, shinier and more flattering. Becky, I hear you on the coarse, thick hair. I always joke that my hair doesn't grow longer--it just grows bigger. Eventually I get the dreaded triangle head. :(

Losermom-Thanks! No, I didn't color it, though I really do need to cover my gray. I think it is just the difference in lighting, the flash, etc. I have also (VERY RELUCTANTLY) started using a flat iron. I think it helps it look shinier.
Becky-I want to see your new do!!
