A Servent's Prayer --
Jesus, My Jesus....How marvellous are your ways....
Far more splendid than my mind can envision.
What an honor to be chosen by you.
A lowly child I am, but empowered by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great hope to which you have called me.
I give myself totally to you, Lord.
Take my imperfect heart and make it perfect.
Peel away the hardness.
Close the doors I have opened to the temptations of this world.
Gently remove the roots of painful memories, sins, doubts and fears.
Discard anything that separates me from you.
Lord, fill the emptiness with the light of your love that I might be a beacon calling the lost back to you.
To love as you love.....
To serve as you serve.....
To forgive as you forgive.....
Always mindful of my nothingness while doing great and marvelous things in your name and for your glory.
This I pray, Jesus, in YOUR name ...

Husband is baling hay tomorrow been cutting it and watching the weather. Yesterday they were burning next door. with David cutting hay. Flames were above the oak trees. My friend went over there because after 5 your not suppose to be burning. I would say with the wind blowing like it is and dry as it is, a person should not be burning. I will be working at the store tomorrow , wish hubbie would get that bathroom put in!
As far as hope goes with my brother I think an angel may be working in the back ground. I sure hope so! Please keep praying for him.

Bootsie, will continue to keep yur brother in prayer.

BOOTSIE ~ thanks for starting the new JUNE THREAD -- we were busy over the weekend, and I didn't even notice it was the new month ... I posted at the last of the May thread that the story GARY put in by KATHLEEN does sound like you and it reminded me of us when we had our farm(s) and animals too. It is LOVE that motivates us to look after them day in and day out, but they give so much love back in return that it is soooo worth it ... ^Prayers^ continue ...
We had a busy weekend; company on Saturday; went out on Sunday. Today, we went shopping and picked up some things for our little cottage on our lot and our camper. There is a small leak in the livingroom section, so we hope to fix that and DH then wants to tackle the floor of the cottage after that is done. So we are planning our summer.
So an update on the car issue: the mechanic said to drive the car the way it is for now for as long as we can (in other words; run 'er into the ground), so we can save up some $$$ towards a newer one (oh, and the gas smell is gone now). The bank was very encouraging about a loan for one if we need one too; we have a few options open to us actually ... thanks for the prayers.
We had :sunny: and :rain: on and off here today. My salad drum garden is doing fantastic; growing mega faster than the main garden. Our flowers have bloomed and gone; now the summer ones are coming up. I picked up some weeding tools and do a wee bit every other day for exercise; the great thing about the drums is that you hardly get any weeds in them and the few you do get, come out like nothing. I love my drums ...
BTW, here's just a few pics of my flowers from my side garden (I can only put 5 pics per post) ...
06-07-2010, 09:30 PM
I was sooo blessed with these beautiful flowers: I think GOD made them extra special -- as people would stop and admire them and that was so rewarding for my first try at it. I have some learning to do yet, like how to cover the beds so they grow again each year and such ... but here's a few more pics ...

I want the Blue One!!!!Oh they are so beautiful!
Your quite welcome Rosebud, coming on here and not seeing I just had to start it!
My brother called tonight and I think he wants to go back to the nursing home, he says his legs are both swollen tonight. Cannot find his bills, etc.. I hope that social lady from the court can help him out. I am so tired all I want is for him to be took care of that is all. I cannot get any response from the doctors and she told me if they did not respond she would contact them herself. She has all the faxes and emails i sent to them. All of this has been handled wrong, all of it. something needs to be done. Told the doctors that and I sent an email ,to my brother, that someone sent to me that was with him at the heart doctor and I think it has sinked in this is his heart doctor. He could not remember the doctor. You know if I had 5 or 6 doctors I would be confused who was who too, especially if I was sick when I seen him! thanks for the prayers he really needs them and especially to put God first in his life and NOT the Almighty dollar.

I am here gals...worked late....be back soon!
06-08-2010, 10:32 PM
Hi Gals ~
busy here with work...
Pretty flowers ROSEBUD!
Thanks for starting us up for June BOOTSIE!
Spent most of Sunday watching my daughter run her 3rd marathon in a year...way fun...my dil and I went down together....Angie had to stay for church and the retirement luncheon of our school principal, plus she had to play bells...I hate when we have to split up! But great to have dil with me...my daughter was so happy to see us at 14-20-25 mile marks...
the kidnapper was at the finish to greet her...wink
Well...back to the game...
06-09-2010, 10:53 PM
BOOTSIE ~ YA, I thought that it looked a lot like your avatar picture. These are actually smaller flowers; I had to get up close and blow them up so you could see how pretty they were; the color was stunning ... prayers continue that your brother gets all the help he needs too!
 HI GARY ~ THANKS; I love flowers -- they are so rewarding, in themselves. Here's some more ...
We had a busy and tiresome day yesterday; DH finally got his lawnmower fixed this AM but my DAD cut our grass for us last night -- MAY GOD BLESS HIM FOR THAT! :D He has been overdoing it again and hurt his right arm: it is all bruised-like as the muscle pulled away from the bone -- eeks! He could use a wee prayer for that too, please. :^:
We are gonna tackle that cottage the best we can. We have prayed and prayed about it, and have decided to start the front half; my DAD and SM are giving us a pre-Christmas gift to get it started (GOD BLESS THEM FOR THAT TOO); and we are adding in some savings we have left so we'll see how far we get. I will take pics too ... :D
We are gonna start the shell of the cottage first; and drive that car as it is until it quits, then get another good one then. It's a great plan; must be wisdom from GOD ... ;) We had :rain: today and sure needed it before I lose any more trees or bushes out on our lot.
Thanks for all the prayers for us and our family; we really do appreciate it. Take good care and have a great week everyone ... Rosebud :flow1:

Hello everyone! I am not new to 3FC but new to this group. I would love to join you guys on your journey! "Christian Encouragers" I don't think it can get more encouraging than that. :)

HI GALS ~ :)
I'll see if I can catch up a little bit. Angie is teaching a yoga class at the studio tonight. She will be teaching Friday nights for the summer which limits our date night that I look forward to on Fridays....I'll survive ;) We will go out after some nights and on others I'll make dinner or order pizza.
Tonight we are having pizza as her mom/sis/bil/nieces and a boyfriend of one are coming down to spend the night. My bil/niece and her boyfriend are doing the mud run tomorrow....Angie and my daughter and dil will do it next week-end.
We will have a BBQ here tomorrow after the run in honor of Angie's mom's birthday.
Work has been good and I have been close to home the past couple of weeks. I will be going back to Beverly Hills later this summer and not looking forward to that traffic and time on the road...or the nights we will be staying in a hotel....hate being gone from home...but I do like to eat and I do like to have my lights and gas on ;)
I will be watching a lot of the World Cup games :carrot:
I have been getting my walks in just about every day with these mutts...pretty much a 3 mile walk each day. Angie and I plan to go out for 3 tomorrow morning then take her mom to breakfast at a place we really enjoy that we don't go to often. It is owned by a friend of ours...great breakfast...but we like to take the dogs to the beach and eat at the cafe there on Saturdays when we can....the other place is in town and doesn't have outside seating.
Angie plays bells at 8:00 service on Sunday so we won't go to the beach that morning.
Next week-end we also go camping with the family here in town :carrot:
Well gals I will check out for now.
WELCOME MANDY :carrot: ~ My parents family were from Bloomington, IL. My uncle still lives there.
06-11-2010, 11:41 PM
:welcome: MANDY ~ yes, the very name of this thread/group is encouraging; I always liked that idea ... :D
 GARY ~ busy as usual; but lots of fun spent with your family; thanks for the update on ANNIE -- that's a great idea to reward herself with a fun trip to Disneyland for getting through all those treatments; I admire her for her toughness (as we do our BARGOO too) ... prayers continue for restoration too!
GOOD NEWS UPDATES in the Prayers Warrior's thread tonight; please do take a peek over there. Hope you all have a great weekend ... Rosebud :flow1:

Just popping in real quick for now to wish our long lost WILMA a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
06-12-2010, 06:31 PM
Hello all. I think I've come to the group a few times before, but I plan on stopping in for regular visits now. Hope this is okay. I will be starting my weight loss journey on Monday. Can't wait.
06-12-2010, 06:33 PM
Thanks for the welcome!
EZMONEY- I'm not too far from Bloomington, down around the Carbondale area, small world.
I guess I should probably give a little introduction about myself. I am 31 y/o single mom to a 10 y/o boy, Devin. My weight has ALWAYS been an issue with me. I guess it wasn't until I was older and alot bigger that I realized, it probably wasn't the issue I always thought it was at the time. But after the birth of my son it just kept going up, past the 200's, I'm only 5'2'' I think I hit my highest at that time when my son was about 3 or 4, I hit around 240 lbs. I also stopped attending church and was involved in a very unhealthy relationship. About 5 years ago I decided to take charge of my health and I did good (for about a year) I lost close to 60 lbs and then it just stopped. Trouble in the relationship, switched jobs, etc, etc. but I never gained much back... Until about 2 years ago. Things began happening and I felt pretty much out of control. I went back to school as well as working, which meant less time to get everything done. My unhealthy relationship came to a (at the time it seemed) tragic end. Bills were piling up so I decided to get a second job, and I learned when last summer came I would be losing both my jobs (cuts in education) but that if money quit coming in they could let us go any day, this went on from October '08 - June'09 when we were finally let go. Throughout all of this I managed to put back on all the weight I had lost plus about 20 lbs... With all that said there is a happy ending :) Somewhere along the way, in the past couple years, I found a church to get back involved in. I have a very supportive family, as well as some great friends who saw I was hitting bottom and kept me from having a nervous breakdown! One of the main things I wanted to do was get the weight off I had put on, but I knew there were more important things that had to be repaired first and top of the list was my relationship with Jesus Christ. When I began working on that other things just began falling into place. March of '09 was the beginning of the end of my downward spiral! I realized how unhealthy that relationship had been and really let go of the anger and hurt I was holding on to. I cleaned house and got my finances back in order, making some huge changes in the way my son and I lived. I joined weight watchers in August '09, but didn't stick to it, still wasn't ready. I got rehired at my job (my primary job) in October '09. (Although due to the states finances I have lost it again this summer, and do not look to be rehired this time). I finished school in October '09 and graduated with my bachelors degree in Business in December '09. I began volunteering in the children's ministry program at my church, and have made some great friends there as well. Then in January of this year I decided I was focused and ready to put the effort into becoming healthy. I turned my weight over to God and haven't looked back since. I do weight watchers and have found much success. To date I am down 45 lbs! It's amazing what you can do when you get your strength from The Source :)
06-13-2010, 09:27 PM
WELCOME BACK, DORI ~ I remember you ... glad that you decided to come back and visit us; hope you stick around for awhile too ...
MANDY ~ thanks for the profile about yourself and your life; am sending up some ^prayers^ that you find a position that you like. :congrat: on finishing your business course; that will come in handy somewhere, I'm sure ... ;)
We just had a quiet day at home; did a we bit of shopping for our lunches next week, and some laundry catch-up as well. Had a nice chicken breast dinner with lots of veggies; good and healthy.
We got some more done on our cottage this week; my DAD is showing DH and I how to do many things at once, relying on my memory to recall the instructions after they return home. We'll do our best. It is so nice to finally see the building part started!
Through His Word, GOD gave me a promise some years ago about this dream of ours; and a winter rainbow as a sign (no rain either). Well, on the way home on Saturday night, I looked up and would you believe beaming down all by itself was a rainbow. Once again, there wasn't any rain that day at all; and that rainbow was with us all the way home. As we got out of our car, there in front of us, was that same rainbow just hanging there all by itself in the sky ... OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD!
Hope you all have a wonderful week coming up ... Rosebud :flow1:

I think I am off work tomorrow so I will catch up then.
Prayers for all ~ Gary

Hi Gals :)
Well the week-end of company~pizza~bbq is over and I didn't gain from Thursday's high off 188 somethin'-somethin'...but I didn't lose either.
Not that I expected to of course.
At least we won't be partying again until next week-end....
That will be camping...no problem for me staying away from the smores...but all that lawn chair sitting and beer I am going to take will not help anything....
maybe it won't be so bad....my adult children/spouses and nephews have big plans for baseball-football-bean bag toss etc....Angie has big plans for hiking...maybe...just maybe I will burn a few calories.
The menu won't be too bad either....brother/sister and their spouses/families are doing ribs one night...Angie and I are on duty for all 20+ for lunch one day...probably hot dogs and salads....then my kids/spouse/nephew are on for carne asada for our last dinner....breakfasts we are all on our own.
Got 6 miles in over the week-end and a quick 3 this morning with the mutts before kids hit the streets for school....dogs have their fleas junk on them for this coming week-end of camping and I didn't wan't the kids petting them and not cleaning their hands.
My goldens get a lot of attention...stinky or not...and am I ever mad at them! I got home today from some errands and they had dug a swimming pool in the yard looking for a gopher!
MANDY I am not really sure where your area is becuase I don't believe we ever went south of Bloomington/Normal...we would fly into Chicago then drive or fly down to Bloomington. The last time I was ther was 4 years ago, since then my mom and grandma have passed on and only my uncle is still there. Thanks for sharing your story with us.
ROSEBUD Way cool on the dream! Great job on the cottage too!
Be back soon....

 HI PEOPLE ~ had a lovely day out at our lot; this was cleaning day for me -- spiffing up our camper inside while DH and my DAD did stuff outdoors. It was another hot day, but thankfully, some nice whispy clouds came in with a breeze in the late afternoon to cool things off for us. By the time we arrived, those rascals had already done some work on the cottage; they were up with the birds ...
We had to pick up some nails and price the doors & windows; geepers, they are sure expensive!!! :( Will be resorting to plan B (buying only as we go along becuz of the prices) -- we already have more than half what we need in the windows and one large door, so we are ahead of the game in that respect. My DAD isn't staying up as long as we thought, so we will be on our own shortly, but we'll do what we can.
It is really nice to have the camper as we can get out of the elements and away from the buggies, which are here in full force now. Yesterday, there was a wonderful breeze which kept them at bay. The trick is to go outdoors when they aren't around so much, like the early AM. The worst time to go outdoors in the country is in the early evening ... eeks!
We got home a bit late, but we still had a nice cool dinner with some Vanilla Yogurt Ice Cream with strawberries on top for dessert (DH had a cone). Have been doing better on the plan and getting some exercise by clipping grass and watering my trees. My drum garden is doing great here at home; should take a picture of that.
Speaking of pics, just as we were leaving a beautiful fox came sauntering across the road in front of us and laid down on some freshing mown lawn just 2 doors down from our lot. What a pretty fox and amazingly, it wasn't even afraid of us (or the camera), so we slowly turned around and went back so I could take some pictures below ...
06-17-2010, 11:14 PM
Hey everyone. It's been a rough food week for me, but I've kind of just accepted it as such and tried to make the best of the bad choices I've been given. I didn't make the greatest choices early in the week, and my sister is in from North Carolina for the weekend so we will be hitting all the places she wants to eat over the weekend... But it's all over Sunday and all start fresh, I look for this to be my first week I gain since I started this in January :(
Beautiful pictures of the fox Rosebud. I too live in the country and love to sit outside and take in all of the wonderful creatures. We have a pretty large garden and lots of bird feeders. I love to sit and watch the birds, that front porch just sucks me when I go sit out there.
06-17-2010, 11:22 PM
HELLO FRIENDS ~ Thank you so much for your prayers for my Uncle TOM S. over the last 3 years or so; it has been so appreciated and we saw the results of GOD's grace in their lives.
TOM's health took a turn for the worse recently when he caught a very bad flu which weakened him terribly and he was unable to regain his strength. GOD was merciful, and TOM passed on very peacefully in his sleep late this afternoon. Our LORD is a compassionate GOD and we are very thankful and grateful.
Please pray for his wife and daughter, plus his siblings who need GOD's loving and comforting embrace tonight. Once again, thank you so much for your love and support through all this time -- it was so kind of you all to take time out of your busy lives to pray for TOM and his family; and they are very, very grateful too ...
06-18-2010, 12:21 AM
I am so sorry for Tom's family ROSEBUD....continued prayers.
06-18-2010, 06:10 PM
THANKS, GARY ...
06-20-2010, 09:21 PM
 HI EVERYONE ~ last week, we were able to buy some good windows and doors second-hand for a very nice price (less than the price of one window) from someone who changed their windows recently (to fancy winders). They also gave us some inside doors for free as well; this is a wonderful blessing and will save us lots of $$$. Along with the ones my Uncle G gave us, we should almost have enuff for the whole place.
We had lovely weather today so we went for a nice drive out to nice lake this afternoon. My DAD and SM made it home safe today; he just called. DH and my DAD managed to finish off the porch; DH will continue to do a bit more of the floor over the next while as he can, but that is much easier and won't be too hard for him (he will use drills for that). WE have to go pick up the rest of the doors this week too so we will be busy again.
Hope you all have a wonderful week coming up ... Rosebud :flow1:
06-23-2010, 10:22 PM
HI GALS :)
I figured I better get in here and help out a bit before I get kicked out for loitering :o
We had a great time camping last week-end. 17 of us all together. It has been ages since my brother/sister and our families have done something together outside of our "home" bbq's and parties. Everyone wants to do it again :carrot:
Went to the dentist today for a cleaning...have a cavity...well, a small chip off of a filling on a front tooth that I will get taken care of Monday.
Angie is enjoying her time off for summer but between camping, teaching yoga classes and doing 2 on-line classes, she isn't having much free time ;)
Well I better get back to figuring out a plan to lose there extra 10 pounds....yeah right....;)
Prayers for all ~ Gary
06-24-2010, 08:44 PM
 GEEPERS, I didn't realize that it had been so long since I posted in here -- we went up to our lot on Monday (two trips to pick up the rest of the doors and windows) and man, was it :hot:; then shopping on Tuesday (walked my tired feet off); then did my Wednesday weeding, and planted some more seed in our side gardens (more green beans, lettuces, radishes, and summer turnips).
Today, we stayed home so that I could have a complete rest day as I overdid it a bit I guess; I woke up with a bit of a cold this morning and that peri-menopause stuff is acting up again. As the day went on, I started to feel better though, thanks! :D
Uncle Tom's funeral service is tomorrow AM at 10:30; hope all goes smoothly there -- thanks for your prayers for the family too.
P/R ~ My SIL dropped by yesterday to tell us that our BIL, TOM M. was in the hospital too as he had some bad chest pains the other day when he was helping with some outdoor work. She thinks he will be OK; they couldn't really do much for him, but she was very concerned nevertheless (will put a prayer request in for them in the Prayer Warrior's Thread too).
We had a cooler day today, but the :sunny: did peek out since the late afternoon which was nice. We had fish, homefries, and salad for dinner tonight; nice & easy for me. ;) I heard that there were some storms and supposed to have been some tremors here, but we have lots of road work going on near our place so it was hard to tell ...
Hope you all have a great week out there ... Rosebud :flow1:
06-24-2010, 08:50 PM
Rosebud I hope the funeral for Tom is a blessing for those in need of it being one.
Why didn't you invite me to dinner...fish and fries...oh my!
Later ~ Gary

Hot & dry here in Texas, fighting grasshoppers by the millions , I got some vegetables yesterday and soaked them with Kentucky bourbon that has been sitting in my house for 38 years and they go after that stuff and get where I can catch them. I got the biggest egg I ever seen to be a hen egg! Those grasshoppers must be good for them! Think I am going to buy some beer, I can just see it now everyone in Spicewood will be saying I became an alcoholic! Ha! I am going to put some beer in the garden in the back yard in the front yard every peach tree I have. Those rascals ate my peaches and left the seed on the trees, and now is in the process of eating the trees their selves! This is war! I went and gathered some cedar and put in my tomatoes , guess I will see if that works keeping them away. If it does maybe I found something to fight them with! They ate half a tomato and half a cucumber yesterday all my green beans and purple hulls . My friend had bought a battery powered fly swatter and been going out at night and swatting them at her house, I am afraid of rattle snakes since we have killed 5 this year in our yard and pasture. Any body got any remedy to get rid of grasshoppers?
06-24-2010, 10:06 PM
OH BOOTSIE ~ you sure have your troubles, don't you? Last year drought, and this year ... grasshoppers. Wonder what the bible says about them -- will definitely send up some prayers for help; maybe you can google that and see what you come up with???
06-24-2010, 11:40 PM
Well BOOTSIE we have prayed for rain in Texas for ya...can't see why we can't pray for grasshoopers...or lack of them....for you!
06-26-2010, 08:27 PM
It has been a long time since I have posted on this site. I'm back and going to do my best to keep in contact.
A lot has happened in the past year, but it has been a good year. Jakob our oldest graduated from high school, DS2 will soon be driving and DS3 will be in 9th grade this year.
I hope all of you have been doing well and I look forward to catching up with everyone.
06-26-2010, 10:51 PM
:welcome: back, KATHY ~ glad to see you rejoin us here again; sounds like you and yours have been busy. Maybe quieter now that summer is here, or maybe not ...
THANKS, GARY ~ the service was really nice; one of the best I have been to in my life, actually ... lots of humor (my uncle TOM had a great sense of humor and they recounted some of his favorite one-liners). I am glad there was such an upbeat atmosphere too.
One of the things that impressed me so much were all the people from that church that showed up (even children; kinda felt sorry for them) who really didn't know our family that long or well, but they showed up anyways. I kept thinking ... that I am sure there was something else they would have preferred to do on a pleasant Friday morning, so I prayed that GOD would bless them all for their kindness.
Also, one man named WILLARD kept visiting my uncle and witnessing to him until he finally got him to say the Salvation Prayer -- that was so great. He kept asking TOM if he was ready to meet Jesus yet? I will remember Willard for that (not giving up, I mean); and for reciting the 23rd Psalm to TOM as well. May GOD bless Willard for his persistance ... :D (Note: the reason this meant so much to me was that I had prayed that the LORD would send a bold Christian man to witness to Tom while he was in the hospital and He did!) :)
We had a good day; got some nice perennial flowers, bushes, and trees for half price today and we planted some after dinner (until the buggies got too bad). I bought two choke cherry bushes, but when I googled info about them, I discovered that they and the purple leaf sandcherry bushes can grow into anything from a very, very large bush to a tree ... :yikes: ... whoops! Now, where to put them??? Oh dear ...
Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend; take good care ... Rosebud :flow1:
06-28-2010, 08:55 PM
Thanks Rosebud for the Welcome back. The summer is still busy because my 2 boys are lifting everyday and school and on some of those days they have football practice. Never a dull moment but that's what keeps us young. Right?!
I would appreciate if you would pray for my niece Jennifer. She is going through a very hard time right now. She has a decision to make that if she makes the decision she wants to her mom will not be happy with her and may not talk to hear. I love my sister, but I feel bad how she is treating her daughter. Pray for my sister as well.
Today was a great day. Work went well and I'm having a nice evening with my husband.
Have a great night!
06-28-2010, 09:21 PM
Kathy, praying for Jennifer and her Mom , as well.
06-29-2010, 12:03 AM
YOUR WELCOME, KATHY ~ sending up some prayers for your neice and her mom too ...
We got the rest of our perennial flowers planted today, or so we thought; then we discovered that we had 4 extra Brown-eyed Susans left so we will take them and the choke cherry bushes/trees up to our lot and plant them there this week sometime. I am getting better at this; had 4 planted and was resting while DH was on his third ... it's great exercise too.
Tonight had to take it easy though; had a nice dinner of sirloin steak with cob corn, mushroom medley, and a small romaine salad -- very nice. I have been feeling a bit bloated lately, and having a tiny little jabby pain in the top of my stomach the last few days -- am praying that the LORD will heal that and it is nothing serious ... :D
We had some rain yesterday and last night; woke up to no hydro but as the day wore on ... the lovely :sunny: came out for us and it turned out to be like a nice spring day, only in summer ...
Take good care everyone ... Rosebud :flow1:
06-29-2010, 01:30 PM
Praying for you Rosebud, I was having belly sharp pains to then they went away. My dear husband informed me the older I get the more strange pains I will get, hmmm... Mr. Know it all!
06-29-2010, 02:16 PM
THANKS, BOOTSIE ~ one of my brothers told me the same thing -- I recall trying to comfort him all throughout his forties (reassuring him over and over : "You're not dying, you're not dying, I promise!). Now, I am the one who needs encouraging, so I read the Psalms and of course, I am grateful for friends like you all here. I keep telling myself ... it's nothing bad, just the aches & pains of old(er) age ... (well, as long as it doesn't last too long or get any worse, that is). ;)
BTW, our BIL, TOM M. is back at home and feeling much better; thanks for your prayers for him ...
06-29-2010, 09:47 PM
I recently joined 3FCs and have been spending some time reading lots of posts and I hope to join in on the conversation here ! Look forward to getting to know each of you.

:welcome: cookielvr -- I agree with BARGOO, that is a cute avatar ... and my DH is a cookielvr too, but he's nice and skinny anyways cuz he walks and bikes a lot these days. Oh, and what part of CANADA do you hail from?
I did really well on my NO JUNKIES JUNE CHALLENGE ... today is the last day and I DID IT!!! No chippies, no nachos, etc, etc, etc! YEAH! :carrot:
You know, I was having all kinds of trouble with my IE (Internet Explorer) this week, so I switched over to Mozilla Firefox; and I haven't had any problems since then -- plus everything is working so much better on my PC too!!!
Got some walking in today as we went shopping and I picked up some wool to do some more crocheting; I am finding that it really helps keep my hands busy so I am less likely to munch ... yeah again!!! :cheer2:
Boy was it busy uptown today; as Thursday is our country's birthday, so therefore a holiday, everybody was in the store and the stuff was flying off the shelves. DH was worried we wouldn't get any eggs as they were getting low, but I did manage to get some and I'm sure they must have had more in the stock room ... :D
Anyways, I have to go make dinner now; something with lean hamburger -- probably creole patties (with chopped tin tomatoes) with green beans and a salad on the side ... one of my favorites. Doing well on my plan this week; hope you all are too. Take good care ... Rosebud :flow1:

Hi, everyone! I can't believe how long it's been since I posted. I have been lurking and keeping every one of you in my prayers, though. We've been so busy-took a vacation to the Black Hills, getting DS2 ready for college , trying to get a new large flower garden dug (in between day after day of thunderstorms), and too much stuff going on. And, you all can see from my slider at the bottom, that I've been doing terrible with my eating-evenings are just awful. I know it's still emotional, but I'm trying to get a grip. Doesn't help that every other day something comes in the mail for my dad-hospital bills mostly. Don't know when they're going to finally get the idea that dad had no money when he died, but I keep sending notes back to remind them.
Anyway, I'm back and I'll say a big WELCOME to our newbies! Hope you're all having a great week!

Thanks everyone for praying for my niece and her mom, my sister. Please continue to keep them in your prayers. My niece is doing better, but still needs God's wisdom in this situation she is facing right now. I'm so thankful that I serve a God we can take our needs to knowing he will answer. In his time, of course!!
This has been a good week. I haven't gotten much in the way of exercise in though I did take the dog for a 20 minute walk last night. Getting up early in the morning to walk has been hard, but it's time I get back into the routine.
I trust you all are having a great week.
May God's presence be close to you!

About 3 times I have tried to post and where oh where did it go? Geeeeee! I hope this makes it! Welcome Cookieluvr! Welcome back Kathy and Ronnie I sure have missed your post! You hang in there girl life is hard but I am learning problems in our lives makes us stronger and we learn how to deal with them. I bet there is someone out there that has been in your position on getting bills for past loved ones that had no money, they may know how to handle it.
You know the best thing I ever done was turn my brother over to Our Father, since then everything has been turning out for the good for my brother, I was standing in Gods way, trying to help my brother. Well I will try to get this posted,:dizzy:

 We just got back home from our CANADA DAY fireworks display which was exceptional this year ... well, it is our 100th birthday anniversary so it was a special one. We took our dear NIKO with us and he just curled up in a ball in the back seat and slept through the whole thing ... I guess he is just so used to DH's bang'em up and shoot'em up movies and loud musac that nothing bothers him anymore ... ;)
RONNIE ~ still sending up some prayers for you; eventually, you will find your way back to where you want to be ... all in good time.
TIP: Maybe you could type up a standard response letter for those requests for your Dad, then have a bunch photocopied and whenever you receive a request, just pop one of your prepared form letters in an envelope or do this ahead -- then just address it and mail it out. :)
The weather was just right for a summer day; in the mid-70's all day long with :sunny: and a nice breeze. Hope you all had a great day; take good care of yourselves ... Rosebud :flow1:
