Our thread was getting long (which is great), so, here we go again.
Tammy, you said you wore your shorts to school????? I didn't think any teacher could do that!!!!! That would make life a lot easier in TX if our teachers could do that.
Isidore is going to miss TX. Yea!!!! Now, all those people who stocked up on water, can get healthy and drink, drink, drink.
Yesterday, I planted 2 holly bushes by the side of our house. The neighbor's yard men cut down my monkey grass last week--instead of going through her side of the yard to get to the back. I was furious! They keep blowing leaves in our yard. After talking to the owner several times, they have stopped blowing. But now it's my monkey grass.
Well, these prickly bushes will keep them away from my grass now. I've got to plant one more after breakfast today.
My weight remains about the same but I can feel the inches leaving me.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Evening,
Hope every one is having a wonderful evening. I can't believe that it gets dark at 7:30. It won't be long that it's 5:30. Only problem then is I think I have to get ready for bed then.
Tina, thanks for starting the new thread. I've been watching the news to make sure that Isidore wasn't coming your way. I was saying my prayers. Sorry about your monkey grass!! By the way, Zack is now 9 pounds 4 oz. He is such a cutie!!
Tammy, the poor ya'll. A principal like that can make a LONG year! I feel sorry for your former deaf student too. The teachers need the information from the teacher from the day school for the deaf. It only will help the student... like I need to tell you that :)
Dee, hope everything is going good. I hear you on being tired of wearing the same clothes all the time. I do the same thing.
Pat is doing great. He is back at work, playing in his band, etc. He still can't lift heavy things. I'm still exercising but my food this week hasn't been to great. Life is pretty much back to normal in our household.

Teachers are allowed to wear shorts as long as they meet the dress code that the students use. In good taste, below the finger tips, not tight, etc.
I'm going to be a proud mom here for a little bit. If you would like to see a picture of my son, Tim, you need to type in www.cd-communications.com
When you get to the website, click on Marion Local Band Contest. Then click on Arcanum.
Go to the 2nd page, 4th row down, picture that is on the far right. That's Tim and his bass drum.
On the first page, the field commander is his date for homecoming!!
Weight was the same as last week, even though TOM is done. I was just at the gyn. over the summer, and I told him that things were pretty regular. Since then, my periods have been off.
Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!!!!
Tina

That's a great picture of Tim!!! I should have known he'd be tall and thin with his cross country running. Tammy, I know you are proud of him. :)
I did pretty good OP today. I drank all my water. I didn't count points but don't think I was out of range.
Yes, tomorrow is Friday and then the weekend!!!

Hi all! Tim ran his 2nd best time for the year at the cross country meet this morning! He was in the top 7 for the team, so he is still considered Varsity. The coach told him today that he has run enough Varsity races to earn a Varsity letter!!!! He is so excited!! Not too bad for a freshman!
Yes Tina, he is tall and thin. He just passed me in heighth, he is now 5'9" and weighs about 140. He has a way to go before he passes me in weight! lol My hubby is 6'3", so we think that Tim probably has some more growing ahead of him.
Lazy day after we got home from the meet. A nice nap, reading the paper, messing on the computer, and now I'm heading into the recliner to read my book.
Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Good evening,
We just got back from a movie and dinner. We saw Sweet Home Alabama and it was good. Then, we went out for Mexican food. It wasn't that great. I felt like I just ate lots of calories. I'll need to exercise tomorrow.
Hope everyone is doing good.
Tammy, congratulations to Tim on getting his varsity letter.
Tim sounds like my son. I'm 5'6" and my husband is 6'. David is about 6'2". He used to be really thin. Then when he started working and living on his own, he started gaining. He's no cook  He drinks too many Coke Classics and eats too much take-out food. Oh well, maybe someday he'll get married and his wife will cook healthy for him.

Hi ya'll,
Tammy, Can you say "What a cutie" Tim is adorable. I had no doubt that he would be. That is impressive to have earned a letter already! Congrats!! :)
Tina, I wondered if Sweet Home Alabama was good. I lived in Alabama from 2nd grade - middle of my 6th grade year. Therefore, not only do I have a Texas accent .... I have a little bit of an Alabama twang. Just ask Pat, he likes to point it out by making me say things over again. :)
It was a nice day here but I liked the cooler weather we had earlier in the week. They are saying one night this week it should be in the 40's. We'll see if it happens.
Hope ya'll have a good weekend. I think we are going to the local festival on our town's square tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it.

Susan, I sometimes have a "thick" Southern drawl. :) When I was young, my family took a trip to New York. I remember people snickering at my Mother's accent.
It's ashame that we've been invaded by all these Northerners (sorry, don't want to hurt anyone's feelings) and not everyone has an accent any more. :)
Take it easy, y'all.

Tina,
I went to MI about 6 years ago to see my best friend. Everyone up there kept saying "say something". They just wanted to hear me talk. Oh well, I wouldn't trade my accent for anything. I'm a good ole Texas girl! And quite proud of it.
Hope you have a great weekend.

HEY! I'm a northerner. I've had lots of people tell me that I have an accent. Not sure what kind though.
Thanks for the compliments about Tim. Sometimes he gets down on himself (his hair's too dark, his face is too round, etc.). He doesn't realize how cute he is!!!
I would like to see Sweet Home Alabama and eat Mexican!!!! Once of these days, maybe we'll make time to do that!
Got off pretty cheap on the homecoming shopping yesterday. We went right after church, so Tim had nice clothes on. He found a nice blue shirt that went great with the pants that he had on. All we bought was the shirt and a new belt! Relief!!
Well, I need to finish getting ready for school. My hair is still wet, no make-up on, still in nightgown. Leaving in 15-20 minutes? Maybe not.

Happy Monday morning!!! or NOT
Hope everyone is raring to go. Can you believe that tomorrow is October !!! That's ridiculous.
The big department store downtown already has it's Christmas tree shop up and running. That is way too early for me.
I guess it's never too early to think about losing a little more weight by Christmas. It would be fantastic if I could get to my personal goal of 145 by then. The way things are going and have been going, I don't have much hope, though.
Lots to do and so I better get to washing, ironing, and cleaning. Ah the life of being retired. he..he..he..
Tina
p.s. It's been one year since my forced retirement. Wow!

Hi,
Can't believe this is the last day of September. Where in the world did time go? I remember being a kid thinking Christmas would never get here, now it comes everytime I turn around.
Tina, hope you got all of your chores done today. It can't already be a year ago that you retired. Do you miss work?
Tammy, we had a staff development day. It was one of those days where we have to go and be the students. Glad that you got Tim's homecoming clothes. I know it can all be expensive.
Well, I bot measured today. I lost inches in my thighs, stomach and hips. I sure wish it would come off faster and the weight would go down.
Talk to you tomorrow.

It's really October. WOW
We've had some nice Fall weather lately so I guess it's not such a shock. :)
Yes, I miss my job!!! I didn't want to leave it. If you'll remember, I was pushed out because of the new pulpit minister and elders. But, that's in the past. I've had a great year doing what I wanted. Sometimes I just don't have enough hours in my day to do everything I want.
Susan, congrats on losing those inches. They'll keep coming off. (Wish I could get rid of this tummy of mine.)
Tammy, you were so lucky to just buy a few things.

Tina, I can't believe it has been a year since the job fiasco!!! It doesn't seem that long ago! I know you miss it, but you have done so much and been so busy this past year, you wouldn't have had time for it anyway, right????????????????
Susan, I haven't gotten measured, but things I was wearing last spring are fitting MUCH better. I'm taking that as a good sign!
Sis, I feel the same about posting sometimes. I wonder what to say, and then as you can see, I sometimes post too much! I've gotten into the habit of drinking too much Pepsi again. Need to pump the water into me instead.
I'm glad tomorrow is Friday. I'm chaperoning the band and doing the announcing for them tomorrow night at the football game. We have over an hour bus ride. Boy am I looking forward to that. NOT
I'm sure it will be after midnight when we get home, then a CC meet on Saturday morning. Oh boy. Never a dull moment.

Hi everyone:
I am from Canada & just recently went up north here on a trip to Agawa Cayon. A whole bus load of people from Texas were on our car & they were called the "Travelling Texas Friends" and were going all over. I thought their accent was really great and my friend & I were quite entertained the entire trip. These were a really nice group of people and we chatted alot with them.
Anyway, hi to all of you from up here.

Well, let's say "Today was not a good day" If it was edible, wellllll I ate it.:cbg: I probably ate enough points for the month. The only redeeming thing for today is that I exercised.:strong: So tomorrow, I'm REALLY watching what I eat.
Welcome to our group Bandit. Glad our fellow Texans entertained ya'll. You have 2 in this group. When I went to Europe 2 summers ago, everyone wanted me to keep talking. This is a great group you've joined.
Tina, glad Lila missed the coast. I was worried about you. Glad you feel skinny. I think that is a big step :cp:
Tammy, how was your week besides busy? How was the football game?
Ok, off to relax some.

Oh my gosh you guys! You would have cracked up last night when I was announcing at the game! The first song the band played was the Michigan fight song. When I announce I am in the press box on the side of the home school. I announce at the away games. Anyway, when I announced that's what they would be playing, the crowd and the people in the press box were booing!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still had the microphone on (oops) and I said "I'm sorry" very meekly, then I got the giggles!!!!
The next song was Ohio State's fight song, so they were happy with that one!
I told the band director that I want body guards the next time!! He asked if I thought I should start receiving hazard pay!!! lol The kids in our band were cracking up.
Later, a football came off the field and was headed right at me!!!! I knew they were out to get me, just because I said Michigan. Oh my!!!
Just found out yesterday that Tim's date for homecoming is one of the queen candidates! We are very excited. She is such a sweetheart!
Need to leave for a cross country meet soon, so I need to go get ready.
By the way Susan, I don't have energy to be doing all this running. It's either stupidity or dedication to that boy that lives here!!! lol
Have a good one!!

Tina, sometimes my TOM is bad but usually only 1 bad day. I'm just to that stage where it doesn't know what it wants to do. Sometimes REALLY heavy sometimes (this month) almost nothing, ya know? I weighed myself this morning and my scale shows a 3 lb loss??? It's been moved, but I calibrated it by getting on and off 3 times and it still said a 3 lb loss. I hope it stays till this Thursday! :D Then I would be within 1 lb of 95 lbs gone. Then on to the 100! Hope you all have a great day....Sis

Congratulations Sis!! Wow, 95 pounds. That is wonderful. How have you stayed motivated? I'm sure that it will stay off until Thursday!
Tammy, I got a good laugh at your post visualizing what happened!;) It sounds like everyone else did too. I'm impressed that you do the announcing! I think it sounds like a great idea of having body guards and getting hazard pay. As for as you doing everything...... hmmmm I think it might have something to the dedication of that boy at your house. He is lucky to have such a wonderful mom!! I have this funny feeling that he knows it too!
Well, I'm trying to be good today with my food. It's nice an cool here. I know that it won't stay long so better get out there and enjoy it while I can.

I guess the main thing that keeps me motivated now is that I have come so far and I'm soooo not going to go back to where I was. I don't ever want to take bp meds again and if I can help it I don't want to be diabetic again either. Neither one is fun. So I guess that keeps me plodding along even though I'm not moving very fast. :) Have a great day all....Sis :D

Last night was the Homecoming football game. Ashley didn't get queen, but the girl that did is also a sweetie and lives a few doors down from us.
Cross country meet this morning. Tim ran his best time ever! He was so excited. This was the last one for the year for the boys. None of them placed high enough to go to regionals.
Tim, Ashley, and the rest of the crew should be eating dinner about now. Then they will be off to the dance, then to Ashley's afterwards. He was a nervous wreck! They were both cute for the pictures.

I forgot last night was the Homecoming game. It's too bad Tim's date didn't win. But, she was up for it and that's great. It sounds like you were as exciting as Tim was tonight.
We had an exciting day NOT--:) We filled in some cracks in our little bathroom so I can start painting. I haven't found a border that will fit in that little bathroom. As soon as I find it, then I can decide on a paint color. Larry has been on vacation all this week. Next week we'll be back to normal and I'll have time to go look at the stores.

Hi,
Boy, it's been chilly here! The cold front blew in last night and it was almost cold here this morning. I know it's not cold in some places but when it's not in the 70's it's cold here! :)
Well, I went to my first college football game!! It could haven't been a better one.... UT vs OU!!!!! If you aren't from Texas.... that is Texas and Oklahoma. It was great!! the only thing is that Texas didn't win. Oh well, we stillhad a blast!
I'm hoping that this week at work is a much calmer one. Last week was a horrible one!
Tammy, I'm sure that Tim and his date had a blast! How exciting! How was his track meet?

Susan, Tim ran his best time ever and is already planning his strategy for next year!!!
Our neighbors have season tickets to the Univ. of Michigan football games. They are going to be in Florida on the 26th, so they asked us if we would like their tickets!!! Michigan will be playing Iowa, it's Michigan's homecoming, and we are very excited!!!! At least I won't get booed there when they play the fight song like I did at the football game!!!
Tina
10-14-2002, 10:29 PM
Good evening!
Tammy that's great that you got those football tickets. Those are very nice people. :) I haven't been to a college football game in a few years. I guess I haven't been since David graduated from college.
I guess we should go to U of H's (University of Houston) games since my husband and I graduated from there. They have a fairly good team this year.
Susan, I couldn't believe that OU beat Texas. The last time I looked at the score, we were way ahead. Boo.....
It's cool here tonight. We haven't turned on our furnace yet. I've got the afghan out on the bed for the cat (and our feet) tonight. I guess this weekend, we'll have to get some heat going.
I went to a Monday morning meeting. The leader was very good. She had strings for us to measure one part of our bodies. I suggested the wrist. :) I did my waist. I'll keep the string and measure again in 3 weeks.
I have a 3-wk goal going. We are going to see my best friend and hubby then. I've got to look better by then. :o
Everyone have a good Tuesday.

Tina, we were winning until half time and then it all changed. :( I'm such a UT fan, I was just thrilled to be at the game!!!!! It was cool seeing so much orange and red in one place. I like the string idea!!!!! You can do it.
Well it's suppose to be in the 40's again tonight. I love the cooler weather. My knee has been killing me for the last couple of days. I called my dr. and he is suppose to call me back in the morning. I'm ready to have this thing replaced and get it over with!!! I also don't feel good again. Hope I'm not getting sick again! Tina, I cracked up when I read that you wanted to measure your wrist! I was thinking the same thing, or how about the little finger????? lol
Susan, just thinking about your knee makes mine hurt more! My pain isn't every day, but when it hurts, OUCH!! Let us know what the doctor says and how you are feeling.
Our computer has been weird this week. I think we will be shopping for a new one soon. Hate to think of that. Last night, Tim was playing a game and the printer started running. Lots of symbols and letters were printed. I think that it is aliens trying to contact us. Bob and Tim just rolled their eyes when I said that. Strange guys.
Also, a little message appears every now and then that says that we have performed an illegal operation. I was checking e-mail messages and it came up. I was reading messages here and the message came up. Odd.
The kids don't have school today. Teachers' meetings. If we go to a meeting somewhere else, we can go to one session and go home. If we go to school to work in our classrooms on things that will actually benefit our students and us, we are made to stay from 8-3. Doesn't make sense to me. Most of the staff is going elsewhere. They'll be finished before noon. One of the other 2nd grade teachers and I are meeting at school at 8. Our Science Curriculum in Ohio has changed (again) and we are going to work together to go over what we are supposed to be teaching at 2nd grade. Our district is also involved in curriculum mapping, so we are also going to work on it.
We have to do these things anyway, so we decided to do it today instead of working on it in our own time. We are also planning a nice, leisurely, lengthy lunch!!!!! The assistant treasurer is going with us, so that will help make it legal! lol
The principal is being a royal *** again. Frustration levels of the staff are very high, and it is only October. Not sure what can be done. The rumor mill says that the superintendent is leaving at Christmas, but I've also heard he is leaving at the end of the year. The school board is probably worried more about that than our dippy principal. I'm considering calling a couple of them though. They've asked me questions at football games and CC meets about the principal, so I think I'd feel OK calling them and telling them the latest.
Boy, I've written a book!!! Need to grab a shower.

Hi All,
It was a staff development day for us too! It is homecoming for the high school so we had to go in at 7-1. There is a parade around the town square but it's raining so I opted to come on home. I did have lunch with a friend. The new high school has their homecoming next week, so I'll be involved in that.
It's raining here. It looks like it might for the rest of the day.
My computer at school does the same thing. My husband says if you have windows 98, there are a lot of bugs. Anyway......
Sis, it's good to hear from you.
Tammy, a bad principal makes a long school year. I would take advantage of your connections.
Tina, is it raining your way?
As for my knee, I go to the knee replacement dr on Monday. We'll see what he has to say about it. I actually hope he says, Let's do it now. I'm game!!!!
