Default How to know when you need a tummy tuck....

I am between 140-135lbs. From what I see. I think I may need a tummy tuck. Im not sure though. I want to lose 10+more lbs in a bout 6 weeks. But I am trying to lose my stomach! Its not that its big but I have an apple shape and I want a smaller waist. I do hour long and 30 minute long "total body sculpt with Gilad" workouts every single day. Sometimes I miss a day though lol. But 7 days a week i am doing Gilad. I was on P90X but it was boring and Gilad is funny and fun, and I see results sooner. But why cant I get my stomach to where i want it! Damn it!! smh.

You might want to look at some before and after pics. From what I can tell a tummy tuck will improve the skin puckering your are seeing (which will increase with more weigt loss) but there is not much they can do about the stretch marks. You will also want to give it more time, mabe a year or so, you just don't know if your skin will snap back or if muscle will fill the space until more time has passed.

I think your stomach looks great. Most women don't achieve perfectly flat stomachs even at low weights, and have a little roundness right around the belly button. You might lose a little of taht with your last 10 pounds.

Honestly? I think you look fabulous! Man - you can't even SEE my belly button right now!

Do you think you need to go as drastic as a tummy tuck? What about some liposuction if after the last 10 lb you're still not happy?

I think you look great too!

But if you are seriously considering a plastic surgery intervention, you might want to consider lipo instead. It doesn't look like you have a lot of loose skin.

If do you have loose skin (which is why a lot of folks go for a TT rather than lipo), I'd encourage you to research a new procedure called bodytite which is approved in Canada (and other countries) and currently awaiting FDA approval in the US (but available in several locations as part of the evaluation process). It's an RF-assisted lipo that improves skin tautness.

I have an apple shape too, and though I am at a reasonable weight, I have a significantly pouchy belly and some loose skin. I am considering doing some sort of intervention in the future and bodytite looks like it might be a possibility.

I suspect I am older than you and carrying more in my stomach (compared to your picture). But I first reached this weight range over a year ago. You might want to give your body some time to allow the weight to find its true home and for your skin to tighten up and then consider what might be right for you.
