To copy Es....Happy Monday....a fresh start :)

Zoe,
:cp: :cp: way to go on the 7 lbs!!! Good job. How was the bbq yesterday?

Terri,
The Bears game yesterday was a nail biter at the end; lots of questionable calls against the Bears. Urlacher is awesome. Then the Sopranos in the evening....the perfect day!

Es,
Hope the elbow is better. Remind David about that camera!

Have to run, Monday is always a catch-up day, plus I've got to get to school for an exam prep session.

will talk to yins (my best friend from childhood..her Mom was from PA and always called us that!) later....

Jen, my buddy, you forgot to type #129. Am I being picky? If I am I'm sorry.;) I missed the Sopranos. I was going to tape it & I forgot. What a bummer. I tape everything just in case I fall asleep.:tired:

My lunch hour is almost over. Today is flying guys. One of my co-workers asked me how I did this week with WW. I hate saying I gained. I feel like such a let down.:( Here I'm always talking about what a great program it is but I'm definitely not a good example. Oh well<sigh>

Have a great day Terri, Janie, Dianne(having fun in the sun), Ruth & Sandy.

Hugs,
Es

Zoe, :cb:  :flow2: :dancer: :goodvibes
WTG Girlfriend!!! I am jealous! With mom cooking I am definately gaining this week.

Es,
Hows that elbow? The swelling on my ankle has gone down most of the way but it is all kinds of interesting collors. Anyway it is feeling better. My Sat schedule was a bit rough on it though and I suffered all day yesterday for it. I plan to get back to the club and try the cycle later this week. I think it will be a while before I get back to kickboxing.

Terri,
Thank you for the parenting compliment. That means a lot to me. I don't know whether I am a good parent or not, I just do what seems to make sense. Luckily, most of it seems to be working. I really think Ellen deserves more of the credit. I have been blessed with a particularaly fantastic kid.

All My buds,
Thank you all for the anniversary well wishes. I can't believe that it has been 17 years. He is such a  guy. I really am blessed. I think I'll keep him for at least another 17  We went out for dinner at this really cool resteraunt. It is kind of a bar/resteraunt/bistro (very European style). Where you have drinks and pretty much just dine on appetizers. But this place the appetizers are all totally gourmet. Not you typical bar food. It was wonderful. Afterwards we were going to go to the movies but the one I wanted to see (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) didn't start until 10:20 and I didn't want to be out that late.

Hasta Luego,
JanieD

Es,
You're not being picky......I realized right after that I had neglected to put #129 on the title of the thread. Not the first time i've done that... I'll leave the new ones up to you! I know I can edit a post, but can't edit the title of the thread.

So, please, everyone, remember this is 129, for when the next one rolls around.

Good Evening everyone! Another Monday under my belt. I love Monday's at 5pm because when I can get through a Monday (like today), the rest of the week is down hill.

Jen ~ Ok, so you forgot the "129". Not biggie. I was going to mention it anyway but Essie beat me to it. :D The BBQ was good and I stayed OP. Can you believe it?? I must be on a roll....(opps, don't say ROLL......)

Janie ~ I'm so sorry that I missed your anniversary. I hope it was a GREAT one! It sure sounds like it was.

Hi everyone else. Hope it's a great Monday.

That is wobderful that Ellen is so great. My kids are great too. My oldest Brittany is a wonderful teen. What more can I ask? I saw to many horrors with teens. Life is much, much easier that way.

I don't have much time.

Yay Bears! Steelers lost again. :(

Poppin in to say hi & see how my buddies are doing.

Jen, I was teasing you. We all know it's 129. ;) We are FABULOUS:smug:

Zoe, sounds like you're very motivated. I'm happy for you.(high Five) I didn't want to say ROLL.

Janie, how are you today? Take care of that ankle. I love kickboxing. That's one of my favorite cardio exercises. We want you well so kickboxing is a :nono: for now.

Be back later.

When does Dianne return from her cruise? It seems like she's been gone a long time!

Janie,
Sounds like you celebrated your anniversary at a cool place; I want to see the wedding movie also, have heard it's doing very well.

Hi all!
Dianne is stopping in Fl. after to visit family. Hope the weather is good.

How is everyone?
I had a pretty good day. I started watching Dr. Phil. I think I could get hooked on him. Thank goodness for VCRs.

Hi

OMG! I forgot about Dr. Phil! Geeezzz what the heck is wrong with me. I've been forgetting alot lately. I like him. He's real. He's not a phoney like some of the others. He's funny too. Terri, is it on everyday?

Jen, Dianne did mention spending some time with her son. I miss her already.

I've been hearing quite a bit of WW success stories. Since yesterday I heard 3. That's what makes me keep trying harder. This program really works if you stick to it. Someone from work told me her daughter just joined with her MIL & the MIL lost 8 & her daughter 5 on their 1st week. The other one was on LA Weightloss & switched to WW & lost 10.:D

Janie, Ellen sounds very special. You have a very close relationship which makes you one cool:cool: Mom.

Going to go browse around a bit. Haven't done much of that lately. Not enough hours in a day.

Love you's,
Es

I am here to report a miracle. I didn't gain this week. I didn't loose either. but I'll take it since I expected a 3-4 lb gain.

Have a great wed.

Just a quick hello to all my Buddies. Not an eventful week so far, just looking forward to the weekend as usual. Had my hair done tonight after work while Greg had his mid-week golf fix.

Been staying OP still.....can you believe it??? I'm not sure I can. I don't feel like I'm losing but then, it's still too soon I suppose. Saturday morning is WI and we'll see. Sure would be nice to lose 3 for a total of 10. Wouldn't THAT be some sort of miracle.........:genie:

Well, have a great night and I'll talk to y'all tomorrow.

Patti and Zoe <><

Jenny523
09-19-2002, 12:14 AM
Ok, Zoe, fingers are crossed.... :hypno2:
seriously, you're doing great! Way to go on staying OP...let us know.

Janie, that's staying the same...not bad!!! :wizard: you did something right, not showing a gain is good.

Es, I LOVE Dr. Phil, him and his :soap: he tells it like it is. I would be afraid to face him, tho! Have to catch his new show, haven't seen it yet.
Talking about WW success stories...there is a woman in town I'm in a few groups with; she took the self-defense class I took back in January....she WAS about 5'8", 230 pounds....now she looks like she's 150, and looks great. She's on WW...doesn't say how much she lost and I won't ask. Then I get down on myself 'cause I see what I could have accomplished had I stuck with it back in January. :censored:

The boys will be here on Sunday, we may go apple picking. I'm simply looking forward to having them over, it's been a couple of weeks since last time.

Es,
Yes he is on everyday. I get him right before Oprah. I tape it and watch after the kids go to bed. I love him. There was one on yesterday about overweight kids. There was this one mom whose 8 yr. old weighed 125 pounds. This mom was a piece of work. Dr. Phil layed into her. When her daughter complained about kids calling her fat and stupid her mom said she didn't blame them. She said she can't show her daughter affection because she is so fat. But she can show all the love and give all the kisses to her niece cause she is thin and beautiful. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was a b****. Dr. Phil was shocked that this woman was saying the things she said. People in the audience couldn't believe this woman.
There is going to be one on soon with the woman who is suing the Fast food restaurants because her daughter is heavy. She is on there with her lawyer. I saw a preview. Dr. Phil asks a question and the lawyer answers it and Dr. Phil says "That is a load of crap." The question was how can you sit there and tell me that you are going to sue the restaurants and the lawyer said that the restaurant could offer a super size of less fatt... and that is all he got out before Dr. Phil let loose.
I love it! Brittany likes his son. He is 22 and cute! He wrote a book and talks to younger people. He will also be on once in awhile.

JanieD,
Congrats on the maintain. YAY!!!!!!!

Jen, Have fun with the boys. I know you will.

Zoe,
You are rockin' girl! Fingers are crossed for you!

Hi:wave:

Terri, I have to watch his show!! He's too much. I love that he tells them off. I can't believe that Mom:mad: How could anyone say that about their child! I'm glad I didn't watch that one. She would have gotten on my nerves! I saw his son on Oprah a while ago. Tell Brittany I think he's cute too.

Jen, Dr Phil would have my palms sweating from being so nervous. Did you ever see the Rosie O'Donnell show when he was on as a surprise guest? When she opened her eyes she screamed!!! She said she's afraid of him. I've seen so many women that started when I did(50 million times) & lost alot. Glad you're spending time with the boys. I know you miss them.

Zoe, you go girl! I guess you heard the click! I'm still waiting to hear it. Good luck Saturday.

See Janie. I knew you'd be fine. ;)

Good Morning ladies ~

Another Friday......YIPPEE! Nothing really planned for the weekend other than tomorrow morning being my WI day. I got on the scale here this morning.....why oh why did I do that???? It doesn't seem like I've lost ANYTHING and I promise you all that I've been 100%!! I've had this feeling of TOM coming but it comes and goes.....(this 40-something stuff is crazy... ) so that could be it but gee whiz.....but not to fret, I am sticking to it no matter what.

I love listening to y'all talk about Dr. Phil. I don't know him and never have seen him. (weird, huh?) I guess because I'm never home when Oprah is on so I never get to see her show anymore. The last time I watched Oprah, Dr. Phil hadn't shown up yet.

Have a wonderful Friday you's guys. Hope the weekend will bring some fun for all of ya.

Don't worry about the scale. You might be surprised. Weight varies so much from 1 weigh-in to another. Good luck. You should tape Dr. Phil. It is my guilty pleasure. I love to watch him tell idiots what I want to tell them.

Happy Friday:wave:

Zoe, like Terri, said you might be surprised. One day I weighed myself & then again the next morning & I was 3 lbs. less. I guess I was retaining water. I don't have anything planned for the weekend either. Just have to go food shopping & the bank then home.

Terri, I missed Dr. Phil's show again:mad: I'm going to have to tape it.

I have this pain on the left heel of my foot. It came on all of sudden. I never had this before. :?: I was planning to do some form of cardio but foget it now.

Jen, I guess we'll hear "the click" one of these days.

Going to go watch my soaps.

Have a nice evening:wave:

Well Bud's, I went to my meeting and was pretty pleased with the results. I lost 2.8 lbs for a total of 9.8 for 2 weeks. I'm really loving the meetings. In the past, I've gone for a month, maybe 2 and then felt like I was too busy to attend the meetings and did it on my own....THERE lies the problem.....I really DIDN'T do it on my own. I didn't do anything! So #1, the meetings are so important, for me anyway. Some people do it so successfully with "Weight Watcher's at Home" and I wish I was one of those but alas, I am not. I finally heard the "click".

Ok, here's to finishing week #3...........

Hope you're all having a great Saturday. It's errand time.

Later,
Me <><

P.S. Es ~ hope your heel is feeling better.

Jenny523
09-21-2002, 12:18 PM
Zoe,
Good loss for you!!! :D You are absolutely right about the meetings..and I'm glad it's working for you. I've got to face the fact that I'm also one of those people who can't do it on their own.

Es,
Have you been using your treadmill? I suffered from severe heel pain a few years ago, had to have cortisone shots in my heel. When I wanted to purchase a treadmill, my dr. advised against it; she said some people develop heel pain (called "plantar fascitis") from using them. I developed it from being on my feet at work, and wearing shoes without good support. After the cortisone shots, and changing to better shoes (New Balance brand) mine went away and hasn't returned. I hope yours gets better, it is no fun!

Terri,
So what about Survivor? I just watched it yesterday, Joe taped it for me when I was out with Joey. I do not like that young team! boy, I just sounded old. The Thai culture is beautiful, isn't it? I love their food too! but then, I love ALL food...sigh....who are you picking to win? It's way too early for me to tell.

We're going apple picking tomorrow morning; Brandon has gone before, but this will be Matt's first time. I am looking forward to using our new digital camera...lots to learn. Every year we go, Joe warns that we can't get too many apples, but we always do...they keep much longer than ones from the stores, however, so that's a good thing.

Have a great weekend, everyone,
~Jen

HOLA MY BUDDIES!!!!!

OMG, I really missed you guys. Did ya miss me??? I just got back from Florida last night. I wasn't able to go on-line at Steven's cause something was wrong with his computer. I haven't had a chance to read all your posts, but I've read a few - I'll get to them later.

I had a wonderful time - the cruise was fantastic, we were soooooooo pampered. The food, OMG, the food!!! It was amazing - I figured I must have gained a good 10 lbs., willie too. Well, I weighed in today and it was a 4 lbs. gain, so I was actually happy about that since I was expecting sooooooo much more.

It was a fantastic trip - we went snorkeling - well, willie went snorkeling, I went half-assed snorkeling:lol: I felt smothered with that mask on my nose, so I kept taking a deep breath, holding the glasses up to my eyes and sticking my head in the water. Of course, I had to come up every minute or so and start over, plus I was afraid to let go of the ladder, so I think I kept seeing the same damn fish over and over again:lol: That was in the cayman Islands - beautiful. Cozumel was really nice too, to be honest I wasn't all that thrilled with Jamaica. I mean we only went to the beach for a while and then went into town, but the people in town were not friendly at all - they seemed to have an attitude like "we need you here (for your money), but we don't really want you here. It was a bit uncomfortable. So after the beach and going to town for a little while, we went back on the ship. But, other than that it was simply marvelous. I would go again in a heartbeat. The shows on the ship were terrific. I mean I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves.

Then we spent 5 days in Florida with Steven, Monica and the kids, and that was great too. I hadn't seen the baby, David, since he was about 2 weeks old and now he's nine months, so that was great. I hated to leave yesterday, I miss them already.

Tonight we're going to Lisa's to see the other grandchildren. I hope Jessa still remembers us:D

Well, I gotta run and try to put my clothes away - we took too many, didn't wear half of them. Well, I'll know better next time.

I really missed you guys and will read your posts and come back tomorrow. Hi to everyone and ZoeGirl - I saw your post about the 9.2 lbs - way to go girl, I'm proud of ya!!!!!!

We'll have a great day everyone and I'll talk to you's tomorrow.

AMIGA, WELCOME BACK!!!!!!:)
Dianne, I really really really missed you. I'm so happy to hear you had a good time. A cruise sounds like so much fun. Everyone that I know who has been on one has loved it. 4 lbs. is not bad at all. Now you can get back on track. You can lose that in no time.

I'll be back later. I just got a call from David that he's on his way.

Love you's!

Good Sunday Afternoon!

Dianne!!! My pal, my bud.....WELCOME BACK! We missed you....**I** missed you!

So your trip sounded like a blast and I'm so glad that you had a good time. We've been on quite a few cruises and the one place I also thought wasn't great was Jamaica. We were in Ochos Rios. Not great but the cruise itself.....well, you saw for yourself all that food.....food, food, food and more food. Like Es said, don't worry about that 4 lbs ~ they will disappear before you know it. Having a great time was all that mattered and I just know it was worth it. Again, Welcome Back!!

I just got home from church but wanted to stop in for a moment. I have a few errands to run....one of which is to go the JC Penney and buy the great demim blazer that's in their ad today. Now THAT'S an errand. :)

I'll talk to you's later.......have a wonderfully blessed day.

I am so glad you had a great time. Too funny about the snorkeling. 4 pounds is great. Not bad at all.
I am sure Jessa will put her arms out for you!!!!! :goodvibes:

Zoe,
Congrats on the 9.2 pounds. Doing great! Told you it would be better. ;)

Jen,
I can't stand Rob (skate board boy). He has to go!
"We got all the hot chicks" As Kelly Rippa says "All the Hot Chicks starve." I wanted to scream when the girl couldn't do the puzzle. They would have won. :censored:
Hope the boys had a great time picking apples. That sounds like great memories in the making. :apple:

Ok, I have to get in on the Survivor discussion......I wanted old "skate board boy" to be gone but unfortunately that girl couldn't do the darn puzzle. I WAS screaming at her!! I was heartbroken that the pastor was booted off.

Oh, and not to be too picky but I lost 9.8, not 9.2   (every point of an ounce counts, right?)

I'd shout that one out too. Every fraction of an ounce girl!

I hear you on the Survivor immunity challenge. We were screaming too. When I told Britts to stop screaming she told me to shut up and when she realized what she said her eyes got huge. :tape: She hugged me for 10 min. afterward til she knew she was safe. That other team (I will get their names in a couple weeks) was so cocky. I wanted to do bodily harm to Ghandia. We are a nasty bunch to be around during these reality shows.

Dianne, WELCOME HOME :D As you can tell, you were sorely missed :D Sounds as though your trip was everything you hoped it would be. At least you tried the snorkelling....while I love to swim, I can't do that! Something about breathing underwater, it seems unnatural. The cruise sounds awesome, I'm so glad you had a good time.

Terri, too funny about Brits! I can just imagine her horror when those words slipped out!! I don't like the older guy who was made leader of the young group....he picked out all the good looking young ones...the first time he lets them down in a physical challenge, they'll probably all turn against him. Brains over beauty better win!

Am going to spend the day at my aunt's....have to do some stuff around here first.

Welcome Home? I asked you this before, but I don't remember the answer, what Cruise Line was it? I love to snorkel and love scuba diving even more. Camen Islands is the best diving I have ever done. I'd go back there in a heartbeat.

Es,
Sorry about your heel. Hope it is feeling better. I have begun walking with my ankle again. I am not going as fast or as far as I used to but at least I am moving again.

Terri,
You and Brit are too funny. I have never seen any of those reality shows. One thing I would like to see, but can't because we don't have cable, is the Sopranos. Everyone says that it is a good show. DO any of you gals watch it?

Ruth & Jen,
How's school? I'm sure that you're both doing very well.

Hello my buds

Thanks for the welcome back. Its actually good to be home. I had today off and am looking forward to going back to work tomorrow (NOT!!!)

ZoeGirl - I'm sooooooo sorry about the 9.2 lbs. - that was "my bad". Your'e darn tooting every ounce counts, sheesh, I left off .6 ounces, that's more than a 1/2 lb. Forgive me, please???
You are doing great girl! By the way, it was Ocho Rios that we were in also - not too great.

Jen - I'm with you about breathing under water - it ain't natural, unless you're a fish, I like my way better. How are Brandon and Matthew doing? And did you get to spend some time with Aunt Ginny? How is she?

Terri - that is tooooooo funny about Brit:lol: She must have wanted to "rewind" her tongue:D I'd like to rewind my tongue sometimes too. Oh you were right, Jessa did put her arms out to me and was a permanent part of my hip for the rest of the night - OMG, I could eat her up!

Es, mi amiga - How is your foot? Did you see a doctor - could it be "spurs"? If it keeps hurting, you should check it out. How's work? And how's little Karinna?

Janie - We took the Carnival "fun ship" cruise on the Paradise, which is the first totally non-smoking ship:smoking: which is very cool. The cayman islands was great. The water was sooo beautiful. Maybe next time I'll do the "real" snorkeling. I watch "The Sopranos" - I love it. I can't believe it was off the air for over 1 year and so glad its back.

Ruth - how are you girl? How is school?

Well, gotta go and get ready for bowling - I missed the first 2 weeks and I'm anxious to get back to it. I'll talk to you's tomorrow.

P.S. I just noticed today's date (I never remember the date when I'm on vacation) - I would have been married 30 years to my first husband today - YIKES!!! Some dates are never forgotten I guess.:s:

Hi:wave:

Terri, Brittany must have gotten so nervous after she said that to you. She's so cute. I never got into the Survivors. I'm too much into my soaps.

My heel pain was gone the next day. I don't know what happened. All I kept thinking was having to give up my treadmill:yikes: I would have hated it.

Dianne, Jessa must be so cute. Karinna is fine except that she's teething. Still don't have any pictures of her. I'm such a bad Titi. It's funny that you mentioned about your ex cause I thought of mine on May 27th. It would have been our 30th also.

Janie, good going with walking again. Don't push yourself too hard. I watch the Sopranos sometimes. I usually fall asleep. It is a great show.

Jen, were you visiting aunt Ginny? I know she must love having you around.:)

Well buddies, Pete should be calling soon so I better sign off. He started a new shift. Now he starts at 3:PM till 11:PM. Back to sleepless nights because of his SNORING! I'm going to get him that snoring spray & see if that helps. I saw it somewhere.

Goodnight:D

As I write this, I'm wrapped in my down throw :( it's only in the low 40's this morning! It seems waaay too soon for this!

Had a great visit with my aunt yesterday; she is such a sweetie, very savvy, well-read, goes online daily. The time flies by when I'm with her, seems we can never stop talking!

Es, that's great that the heel pain went away! Let me know if the snoring spray works...going back to what was said here last week....I can see why some couples get separate bedrooms  except I'd definitely miss the cuddling.

Dianne, the boys are great. We're celebrating Brandon's 7th birthday on Saturday by taking him to Chuck E. Cheese...just kill me now :dizzy: at least they serve beer.......

I've got about 10 hours of homework facing me that I have to finish for Wednesday. I'll find out how I did on the exam last week.

I can't believe Brandon is 7 already. Tell him Happy Birthday! :hb:
Good luck with your test scores.

Es,
I am soooo glad your heel feels better.
Too funny about Pete's snoring.

Dianne,
So glad you are back. I told you she'd put her arms out.

JanieD,
My husband loves the Sopranos. He missed the first 2 years and so he rented the DVD's for the first 2 years. He is all caught up now and was excited about the new season. Next year's season
is the last. :( He also likes 6 Feet Under.

Well, I am going to get Tanner and go for a walk. He loves it!!!!!!!

Hi Girls:wave:

Terri, I remember when you first got Tanner. He was cute then & I bet he's cute now. They truly are a man's/woman's bestfriend. I absolutely adore my Susie. I must give her 50 kisses before I leave for work. She sees me coming & she rolls over cause she knows what's coming. Adorable.

Jen, it's not that cool here yet. :( Like Terri, I love the Fall.
Your aunt sounds like such a sweetie. OMG, Chuck E. Cheese. I useto leave there with a headache! I could just imagine taking the twins there!:dizzy: Have fun. Happy Birthday to Brandon.:hb:

Zoe, first day of Autumn was yesterday. Enjoy all the new shows. :)

Well, gotta go.

Be back later.

Es,
Glad your heel is feeling better. I went to the club this morning and did 30 min on the cycle. It felt so good after that that I said, "hey, I'll try the treadmill too" After 10 min it was starting to hurt. I guess I need to slow down on the weight bearing stuff. It was nice to know that I can use the bike though.

Terri,
Happy BDay to Brandon!!!
:hat: :hb: :gift: I can't believe that Ellen is almost 9. Tonight is girl's night out. I can't wait.

Everyone,
Well, my parents left yesterday. It was an interesting visit. A real awakening for me. I finally came to accept in my heart that my mother is emotionally abusive and all the guilt and anxioity, along with the physical illness I feel when she is here, is not my fault. All the fattening food she cooks for me and buys and leaves in the fridge after she leaves on the one hand , and then tells me that I am fat on the other, is just one example of her abusive nature. Realizing it and knowing how to deal with it are 2 different things though. I have a lot of baggage I have to work though. I took today off from work to decompress a little. I think i really needed this mental health day. Sorry to dump on you guys but I haven't told anyone about this stuff except Steve. It is very embarassing to admit that you were/are an abused child. I know I can trust all of you. We've been though so much together.

Thanks for listening.

Janie,
You are such a wonderful woman, in spite of how your mother has tried to make you think otherwise. Abuse is meted out in so many ways, and it's difficult to understand how someone you love can do so. I think you've done a marvelous job of overcoming what your mother has heaped on you...be proud of that!
Ellen is so lucky to have you as her Mom. :grouphug: We are all here for you.

Janie, here's a HUG. :grouphug: I agree with Jen about you being a great woman. You are a wonderful mother, intelligent & I know you're beautiful. Last but not least you have faith. Sometimes I look at my sisters, my brother & myself I believe our hangups go from way back. My dad had a lot to do with that. WE love you kiddo. Never feel embarassed because you turned out to be one **** of a lady. ;) Have a happy time with Ellen tonight.

I feel so fat today!!!! Even my face looks bigger. I sure hope it's water! The scale hasn't budged. I'm not giving up I just feel FAT!!!! I would like to lose at least 5 lbs. by October 6th. Karinna's christening is that day & I want to buy a new outfit. I think I can, I think I can.............

Hey buds:

Janie - Sometimes things that happen in your childhood actually make you a better person - in your case a better mom. I know from experience - my mom left us alone when we were young to run around - finally my grandmother came to take me out of my home when I was 7 years old and raised me. My sisters and brother were sent to foster homes. So, I know about child abuse too, but I have to say that it made me a better mother to my kids. I learned from my mother the kind of mother NOT to be. Until the time my mom got sick this year, we hadn't spoken in about 7-8 years. And still I went to the hospital, etc. and I wouldn't do anything different if I had to do it all over again.

The relationship you have with Ellen says it all. That's what I have with Alana and my sons and in a weird way, I owe that to my mother - she made me realize how much my children meant to me because we didn't mean much to her.

Anyway, let me get off my soapbox, I'm just trying to say you're not alone in the way you feel and don't, whatever you do, feel guilt over how you feel. You are a great mom and Ellen is very lucky.

I just had to respond to your post, cause it hit me right at home.

Hi to everyone, will talk to you's tomorrow.

Hugs,
Dianne

JanieD,
:grouphug: We love you. I am so sorry that you had to go through that. I am so glad that you are realizing it isn't your fault. You are a wonderful woman and I am so glad that you see how she is and broke the cycle cause I know you would never do that to Ellen. You are a great mom. If you need to talk we are here.

Es,
I know you can, I know you can, I know you can...
My baby will be 2 in 2 months. He still is a puppy. Susie sounds adorable. I will get a small dog when the kids are bigger.
I watched the season opener of Smallville with the kids. Britts is in love with Lex Luther and Clark and Johnathon Kent (John Schneider - AKA Bo Duke). They are cute. John is still a doll. He is 41.

Dianne,
I am so proud of you too in that you broke the cycle!!!!!!!!!
:grouphug:

I watched that new John Ritter show called 8 rules to date my teenage daughters. Or something like that. I couldn't finish watching. Those girls would have gotten slapped if I were there. They were so mean and they weren't corrected. They made Roseanne's daughters look like angels. It was to over the top for me. I taped Persidio Med. I will watch tomorrow. Did anyone see it? Is it good? I can't wait until ER.
Until tomorrow.

Hi Guys:wave:

Terri, I'm getting ready for work so I have to make this short. About the John Ritter show, I watched the 1st episode & I knew I wouldn't watch it again. I was sucking my teeth throughout the whole show. They are so nasty with their dad! Their teeth would have been on the floor. Like the kids today need to see that.

Gotta run!

Love you's:)

Terri and Es,
I watched the new John Ritter show, and agree with both of you totally....those kids were way too smart-mouthed. What a terrible way to portray a family. It's a shame, cause I've always liked him and hoped it would be a good show for him. I'll never watch it again. Watched NYPD Blue, one of my favorites, can't believe it's been on 10 years! Wish Jimmy Smits was still on it, what a hunk.

Autumn is my favorite season also, just seems like it comes quicker each year! I made good use of the fireplace last night, don't want to turn the heat on yet.

Janie,
Dianne and Terri said it so well. How was your evening with Ellen?

During the summer I stopped taking the HRT I'm on; while I was off it, my appetite decreased and I was able to lose a few pounds. Due to some side effects of not taking it, however, I went back on it two weeks ago. My appetite is totally out of control! It's not in my head, I've been tracking and journalling the effects it has had on me. Now I've got to make an appt. to discuss it w/my dr.(I never told her I went off of it, she'll probably read me the riot act).
I was put on it the day of my hysterectomy, and told to just take it, for the rest of my life. Well, I'm not enthused about that, so we'll have to go back and rethink the whole thing. I do know, however, that the 2 years I've been on it I was definitely experiencing weight gain.

Have class tonight, more homework to finish.

The Chuck E Cheese thing.....we never took our kids there....took Brandon when he was about 4 for lunch. Brandon wanted to sit up front next to the stage....I sat there reading a book while Joey and he played games...little did I know that huge mouse was going to perform every 5 minutes!!! On Saturday we will sit far far away from him.

~Jen

My special Friends,
THanks so much!!!! I knew I could count on all of you. I feel so ashamed of it some how. You don't expect abuse in white upper middle class suburban America, let alone in your own upper middle class suburban home. I guess the embarrassment is part of the process. Before I guess it was total denial.

Ellen and I went out and had a great time. We went to dinner at Strizzi's (Italian/California CUisine). She had fetuchini alfredo and I had sun dried tomato ravioli. We both had decaf capuchinos for desert. (Oh well, Not exactly OP.) Then we went and got a couple of movies and came home and watched one of them. We got "Ghostbusters" and "Big Fat Liar". It was too late to watch both. We'll probably watch the other one tomorrow.

Thanks again for listening,
Hugs

Hello my Bud's

I can't believe that it's only Wednesday. I mean, this week is going soooooooo slow. Greg is in Ohio tonight and tomorrow so I'm 'home alone'. I made english muffin pizzas with fat free cheese. They were good. Now, after this post, I am going to log on to my bank account, balance my checkbook and write out some bills. What fun, huh?

Janie ~ Girlfriend, you know that we are always here for you and always have an 'ear' when you need one. You're a terrific woman and everyone here has said it so well.....you have done a wonderful job of breaking a cycle that could have gone on and on. Ellen is so lucky. Keep your chin up sweetie. This hugs for you :grouphug:

Terri, Es and Jen ~ Ok, I have to put my 2-cents in on the John Ritter show...after the first episode, I wasn't sure yet. It was okay and I actually did chuckle a few times. I figured that the kids just have to get better and that it was just that particular episode.....NOT!! This week went from so-so to just not funny. What brats!!

Jen ~ check out this site http://my.webmd.com/encyclopedia/article/1825.50544 maybe you can get some good info to ask your doctor about.

Dianne ~ I didn't realize that your childhood was as you described. You too are a wonderful woman that has made a wonderful difference in your life which in turn has been a blessing for your family, especially your children. Here's a special hug for you too. :grouphug:

Es ~ thanks for letting me know that Autumn has already begun. I'd have been waiting for it. All kidding aside, I love the fall weather and knew it was September. :D

Terri ~ how old is Tanner now? Gosh, I remember the photos when he was just a pup. Time sure flies, doesn't it?

Well, time to get to the bill writing. Hope you're all having a great evening. Talk to you's guys tomorrow.

Thanks, Zoe, for the link to that site. I've bookmarked it to check it out further tomorrow morning.

Terri, I can't believe Tanner is going to be 2 already! How the heck could those two years have flown by so quickly?

Janie, sounds like you and Ellen had a special time. That's so cool  she'll remember those nights always.

I'm sorry to say that the class I'm taking is not working for me. I got a D on the exam. While I don't want to be a quitter, it looks as tho I may drop the class if I don't improve. I've got till November 11th, the last date to withdraw without lowering my GPA. The tutoring center has helped, but apparently not enough. This :censored: I cried on the way home and then again when I discussed it with Joe this evening. (But I know that's hormones....I cry during game shows now, lol)
One good thing has come out of this mess, however; I know now that I won't be pursuing an accounting degree! Meanwhile, I'll feel like I've wasted an entire semester, since I'm only taking one class; I will go back in January for the spring semester.

sorry about the whining...

HI  to Dianne, Es....

   On the huge mouse!!!!
You can vent to us anytime. You are not alone with the grade thing and wondering what to do. I went through that once a yr. in college. It will all work out. I know you will make the right decision.
Yes, my baby will be 2. He has successfully made a place in my heart that I didn't think any pet would occupy since Bucky. :)

Zoe, Jen and Es,
I taped The In-Laws and Hidden Hills and will watch over the weekend and see if I like them. I also taped Persidio Med and will check it out. Tonight I have to tape Friends, Will and Grace and watch over weekend too. I watch Survivor, CSI and ER on the Big Screen on Thursday. Bradley is my partner for Survivor,
Britts and Brad for CSI and Bruce and Brandon for ER. We do the family thing on Thursday in shifts. We do this every year at the beginning of the seasons. Monday (CBS) and Thursday usually end up being the only TV nights that we watch so I hope I don't like those new shows.
Well, my dad came home this week. My mom sleeps with him now and gets up with him to take him to the bathroom every hour. He is on heavy diuretics. He is much better with his mind now which is great for her. She won't be getting out much. He is not as mobile as he was.

Zoe, Thos pizza muffins sound yummy.

JanieD,
Your girls night out sounded great. Brittany and I do that a lot.
It keeps us close. This weekend we are going to see Martina McBride and Trick Pony at our Big Spring Jam. Hope the rain stops tomorrow like it is supposed to.

Has anyone seen the Banger Sisters yet? I wanted a review.

Thanks, Ter, for the support. This morning I feel as though a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
You've got your tv viewing down to a science! I'm going to tape the NBC shows also, since they're up against CBS, which is my Thursday night favorite.
I was wondering about the Banger Sisters also; still want to see the Greek Wedding. We rarely go to the movies, will probably wait to rent them.
I'm glad to hear your Dad is home; while it's going to be alot for your Mom to adjust to, it's got to be better than having him in the hospital. Does she have anyone to help her?

Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to tell you that my WI was once again no change. 3 Wks in a row. How come I can maintain when I want to loose but when I get to maintenance all I don is gain?

Terri,
I am so happy to hear that your dad came home. I will say a couple of prayers for your mom.

Jen,
DOn't give up on accounting (if that is what you really want to do). GO and talk to the instructor. Tell him/her that you are having trouble and get him/her involved. Their job is to teach you, and from personal experience I know that they really want to do a good job at it. Explain that you have been going to the tutoring sessions and that you would really like to have some additional office time with him as well.

On the other hand, It could be just this instructor. See if the same class is offered next semester with a different Prof, then go and talk to him/her and discuss the difficulties you have been having. I have taught college courses and as you know my DH does as well. There is nothing more exciting to a teacher than a student that really wants to learn, no matter what the challenges. Good luck with your decision.

So much for my quick note :D

Janie

Janie,
Don't fret the weigh in, you're doing an admirable job of maintaining.
Thanks for the words of advice. My instructor is the same one who works the tutoring center; he has helped me quite a bit. It's as tho I have a mental block against this class, that's the only way I can explain it.
This class is offered every semester, if I decide to repeat the class, I'll register for the instructor I had last semester...while she was "tough" I did well in her class.
I really appreciate your point of view on this, it has helped me look at it from different angles.

Hi:wave:

Janie, how much do you weigh? Everyone that I know that's on maintenance has the same problem. At least you made it that far. WTG! :)

Jen, sorry to hear you're not happy with your instructor. :( Janie gave you great advice.

Terri, this is a great weekend to watch movies. It's very dreary here in NY. It's suppose to stay this way for the next few days. If we decide to go to the movies this weekend we're either going to see One Hour Photo with Robin Williams or City by the Sea with Robert DeNiro(love him). Glad Dad is home.

Zoe, I use to make those pizzas. David loves them. I use to make it with Pizza Quick. It's been so long since I've had them. Now I have the urge for them. :cbg:

Just wanted to stop by to say

Till tomorrow.

Hi Buddies, Hi Jen, thanks for thinking of me.

I have been coasting for a long time with WW, not really trying to do the program. I felt funny about participating here until I got motivated again.
I know you probably all remember all my anxieties about my Mom's and Dad's health issues. The bad news is that my Dad is continuing to deteriorate badly from Parkinson's. The good news is that my Mom is really learning to walk and be independent again, almost 4 years after her car accident.
I may seem to have developed a strange philosophy at this point. I have chosen to become incredibly busy this year. I took on the role of being chairperson of the governing board of our church. I also am working on about 3 database design contracts all at once. I don't know if I am biting of more than I can chew :burger: Ha! The thing is that I realized that my main focus has been taking care of my parents for the past 9 years. Ever since Greg started 1st grade, each fall I would say 1 more year to help Mom and Dad get settled and then I will pursue my own goals. At this rate I would be 70 years old and not feel like I did what I wanted to do! So I have taken on more and it seems to be working out...except for WW.

I have been trying to catch up on the messages here. I love the friendships that have developed. Everyone is so kind and supportive. We need this in our lives, we are here on earth too short a time to choose to be thoughtless or unkind.
Thanks to all of you!

Hi My Buds:wave:

Sandy, WELCOME BACK!!! We were worried about you & Ruth.
I'm glad you're doing what you need to do for yourself. Do you have any sisters & brothers that can chip in & help with your parents? We've had our ups & downs with WW. You should still stick with us whether you're OP or not. This is your motivation & the support you can get here is better than the meetings. I know the meetings help but we have become close friends & could talk about anything & everything. Stick with us & you'll be alright. ;)
Glad you're back.

It's a beautiful cool day today. Great for walking. I don't have any plans. I'll take it as it comes. We're going to the chinese buffet later. I eat lots of vegetables(broccoli, green beans) & chicken, a little bit of shrimps. Pete loves going there so why should I deprive him right?

You all have a nice day:wave:

Good Saturday Morning to all!

I'm getting ready to leave the house....nail appt at 8am and WW at 9:30am. I'm nervous about my WI. I mean, I promise you, I was 100%, I was, I really was.....but when I got on my scale this morning, it didn't show such a big loss. maybe, maybe a pound......maybe. If for some miracle, I get to WI and I did pretty good, I'm surely not going to be getting on this scale before WI ever again! If not, if I did't lose more than a 'point-something' or a pound, I know that it's just water and it will be really good next week. I refuse to let a small or no loss get me down or stop me from doing well. :D:D

Es ~ we're having Chinese buffet tonight too. I'm nervous. I absolutely LOVE rice, white or fried, and like you said, we cannot deprive our family of something they love so I'm going. Unlike you, I'm not a veggie or fish person ~ but I do like the broccoli when it's made in the beef dishes. (although I don't eat the beef).....so good luck to us. I for one will need it. :yikes:

Sandy ~ welcome back girl! I too had been away for a month or 2 but it's felt so great to be back. I've done so well in the last 3 weeks and it's all because of you girls. I love it here and love the friendships I've made......my prayers for your family and your parents. I'm thinking of you.

Jen, Es, Terri ~ any other new shows you've watched? I've been disappointed somewhat, so far. Oh well.

Janie ~ keep your chin up on your weight staying the same. There is a woman in my meetings and last week she lost 3.7 lbs. She said that she was so excited because for the last 4 or 5 weeks, she's either stayed the same or went up and down the same 1 pound......so I think (and this pep talk is for me too for my WI today) that sticking with it will show a reward in the end. You're doing a great job of maintaining and THAT is equally important.

Dianne ~ where you be girl??

I'll check back later with my WI results, good or bad. Have a wonderful Saturday morning.

Patti and Zoe <><

Sandy, I'm so glad you caught us up with everything that's been going on in your life. WOW you meant it when you said you have chosen to become busy...that's an understatement! You sound very happy, though, and that's important. That's great news about your Mom becoming increasingly independent. My prayers are for your Dad.
Don't let your weight loss interruptions, or falling off the wagon, keep you from coming here......we've all been in that situation. I'm here every day, yet haven't been successful in stringing together more than one week in a row of being OP.
The friendships I've found here are not based only upon weight loss.

Had a nice birthday celebration for Brandon yesterday; my niece and two of her girls spent the night, as did Jess and her family. We all live about 25 miles from each other, with our home being in the middle, so having overnighters is the best solution.

Bears game is starting.......see you later!

Jen,
Glad you are feeling better about things. It will all work out.
Sorry about the Bears. I hate overtime losses. Steelers played their arch rivals, The Browns. We won in overtime. Wish it was on down here.
It must be nice to have overnight visits. Glad the birthday boy had fun.

Sandy,
I admire you! My prayers are with all of you. My mom did the same thing. She lived next door to her parents and took care of her mom and my mom had 3 little kids. First when my grandma was 52 she got a brain tumor and then a perforated ulcer, convulsions due to hypoglycemia and then eventually developed lung cancer which is what ended her life. She was 63. After all of that my mom said she would do it all again even though it was **** for (Only child) her because of how good my grandma was to her and she loved her so much. It is so hard whenever anyone close to us is suffering. Good luck to all of you!!!!

Zoe,
I hope it all worked out! I am thinking of you!

Es,
Thanks for the site. It is so cool!

JanieD,
Jen is right. Maintaining at times is just as important. People who generally regain their lost weight are ones that got frustrated when they kept maintaining (plateauing) and gave up. Never giving up and thinking that "Hey I could have gained 5 and instead I am still the same. Yay!"
Thanks for the prayers.

Well we saw the Bangter sisters. I will give it an ok.
I am going to see Sweet Home Alabama next weekend. I can't wait to see how backwards we are. It looks sweet.

I saw MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING!!!!! . I LOVED IT! It was my family except we are Italian. I am buying it as soon as it comes out. It was a sleeper all summer and then took off like a shot in August. It was made for $5 million and has grossed almost $150 million. Wonderful!

Well, we went to the Big Spring Jam and saw The PinMonkeys (Britts is in love again- she got to hug them and one kissed her on the cheek ) Martina McBride, Brad Martin, Trick Pony and Montgomery Gentry. It was a blast!!!!!!!!!!!
Now back to real life. Gotta go cut the grass. I hope this is the last time.
Have a great Monday everyone.

Terri,
go Steelers! winning in OT is great...too bad we didn't have that. I was stylin', tho.....Joe gave me an Urlacher navy Bears jersey! LOL, it almost comes down to my knees.
Sweet Home Alabama got good reviews here. Now I've got to see the Big Fat Greek Wedding! The media has been raving about the comeback you mentioned.
So cool about going to the Spring Jam and seeing all those acts. I'll bet Britts is still on :cloud9:

Es,
thanks for that website...very good. You and your Chinese food :) I'm probably the only person I know who doesn't like it , and it's Joe's favorite. Are you still having cool weather? Yesterday it was warm here, today it's supposed to be upper 80's...I'm looking forward to October, it's so cool and beautiful.

Hi:wave:

Jen, my family always makes fun of me cause I'm always going for chinese food. You could tell it's in my blood. The weather has been so nice the past couple of days. I hope it stays this way for a while.

Terri, I want to see Big Fat Greek Wedding. I don't think Pete would want to see it. I'll have to wait till it comes out on DVD.
I don't know who the PinMonkeys are.:( I'm sure my niece knows. WTG Britt.:D They probably saw how cute she was that's why she got the hugs & kisses.

Jen, glad to hear Brandon had a nice birthday. What kind of cake did you have? You had quite a few people spending the night. That's sweet.

Amiga!!! Where are you girl?

Zoe, how was WI? I stayed the same. Not complaining. It's better than gaining.

I bought the worst frozen dinner! I had coupons for $1.00 off on the "New Health Choice Mixed Grills" well, they are the worst frozen dinners I ever tasted. First of all they are huge, high in fat & calories! I bought 2. The other one is in the garbage. Don't waste your money.

I order The Firm tapes. I'm such a sucker for those infomercials. It's the new one. Body Sculpting with Fanny Lifter. I ordered it Saturday & I just got a confirmation that it was shipped. That was fast!

Well, you all have a nice evening. I will be back tomorrow.

Hello Friends

Just finished din-din and we're going to settle in for an evening of doing nothing for a change. Woo Hoo.....I'm exhausted tonight.

Jen ~ so glad that the birthday went well. Did the birthday boy get lots of nice 'stuff'??

Terri ~ wow, you sure seemed to have a FULL weekend! I want to see MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING too. We haven't been to the movies in about 2 months. I think it's time.

Es ~ let me know how you like those tapes. I can be a sucker for those things too but haven't watched any in awhile. Oh, I did buy business cards, personal ones. It just has our names "Patti and Greg blah, blah, blah" and then our phone number, my cell phone number, Greg's cell phone number and our email address. I'm always having to give that info out so I figured this would make it easier. Oh, and they are so pretty! There were so many to choose from. Hope the tapes come quick

Ok, so I lost 1.8 this last week for a total of 11.6 in 3 weeks. I am happy about it but disappointed at the same time. I mean, yes, it's a good amount to lose in 3 weeks but I used to lose so much faster....I guess the 40-somethings really are upon me.

Hi Sandy ~ Dianne, where are you?? I'm worried about ya.......

later you's guys,

Hi Buddies:wave:,

Thanks for the warm welcome back. I am trying to get off my coaster and work my way back to following the plan. I always feel as if I am taking better care of myself when I do WW. It really boosts my self-esteem more than just about anything else. I exercised with Greg today, and then we went food shopping, I am trying some new Cooking Light recipes this week, as I have a little extra time. In other words, no trips into Boston for work until next week.

Zoe Girl!
You are doing just amazing 11.6 lb in 3 weeks:dancer:
Your motivation is fabulous, keep it up!

Es,
I'm with you, I could go for Chinese just about anytime.

Jen, Good luck with your school choices, it is a great thing to do. Persistance is what will finally get you to this goal too. I admire all the studious ones here, I haven't taken a course in about 10 years.

Terri, I could really go for a movie like Big Fat Greek Wedding. I may take the afternoon off and go see it myself on Thursday.

Hi Janie, Ruth, Dianne, and anyone I missed:wave:

Hugs to all,

Jen, Zoe and Es and Sandy,
Go see this movie. Soooo cute! I know Bruce will love it!

Es,
The Pinmonkeys are new. They are so cute.
Thanks for the heads up on the frozen dinners. Congrats for throwing it away. That is great on the maintain. You are so right. Better than a gain. Keeping it off is half the battle too.

Zoe,
That loss is excellent. Keep going and don't look back and wonder it isn't more. You are doing Great!!!!!!!!!

Jen,
That shirt sounds adorable and comfy and cozy.

Well gotta go and take a bath. My back is hurting and I need to soak. Bruce wants me to go to a Chiroprator. Has anyone gone to one?

TTYL,
Terri

Terri,
did you injure your back? The people I know who do or have used chiropractors swear by them; I've never done so, tho.

Es,
thanks for the hint about the frozen dinners. I have either a WW Smart Ones or a Lean Cuisine for lunch most days. The portion control is a necessity for me. I've found that the Healthy Choice don't have as much flavor/spices.

Zoe,
the personal "business" cards are actually a great idea; I'm thinking they'd make a good Christmas gift. WAY TO GO on the loss!!! :cp:

Sandy,
The few recipes I've tried from Cooking Light I've really liked; let us know if you find any keepers.

I've got lots of errands to run, we're leaving Saturday for the Ozarks.

Jen,
Have a great time.
I have scoliosis. I wore a back brace for about 5 years starting in the 5th grade. It is now starting to hurt more and more especially getting out of bed. 2 women at Bruce's work had scoliosis and they said once they hit their forties they had more pain so they started with a chiroprator. I just might try it.

Welcome Back Sandy!!!!
I know you're bummed because the Yankees won the eastern division. There is nothing like the Yankee/Red Sox rivalry. I miss it from when I lived in Arlington, MA. We used to go to Fenway every time the Yankees were in town.

Es,
I am not on maintenance, I am still trying to loose those last several pounds to get to my personal goal of 143. I was just complaining that it is much easier to maintain (plateau) when you are trying to loose than it is when you actually want to maintain

HOpe everyone has a lovely Tues,

Hey girls,

I took a few minutes to read most of the post for the last few weeks. Life has been so hectic since school has started. I'm taking 15 hours and spend all my time with my nose in a book.

Jen, hang in there. But if you really feel you can't make a decent grade with this professor, then bail!! I've had to do it with two classes since I've been in school. I feel like a loser each time I do, but I feel so much better when my grades prove I made the right decision.

What level of accounting is it? I took financial accounting last Spring and I'm taking managerial accounting this semester. I definitely preferred the financial.

Dianne, your cruise sounds wonderful! I love taking vacations, but I haven't been fortunate to go on a cruise yet.

Es, well, my Spanish class is going okay. I'm making an A so far. But I just don't know if I'll ever be able to speak this language. I'm getting comfortable with reading it, but speaking it is hard. Oh, and listening to it is even worst. I usually only catch a few words of a paragraph. Oh well, I know that it will get better if I keep practicing.

Terri, Brit telling you to "shut up" reminded me of an incident with my mother. Of course, I used the "B" word and fortunately for me she didn't hear me. She had come in my room to wake me one Saturday morning, I guess I woke up in a nasty mood, before I realized what I was saying the word slipped out. Boy, did I fly out of that bed after I realized what I had said. If she had heard me, I'd be wearing false teeth today!!:D

Well, I better get back to studying. Hello to Janie, Sandy, and Zoe, I hope I didn't forget anyone.

Hasta Luega

ZoeGirl, Es - I be here, I be here!! I just be soooooo busy, lol.

Sorry you guys, didn't mean to worry anyone, but since I've come back from vacation my job has been totally NUTS!!! You'd never think someone had temporarily sat in for me, I think my boss saved everything for me! Sheesh! Anyway, I'm here - how are you's guys?

ZoeGirl - You are doing "mavelous dahling". Please don't be disappointed - 11.6 lbs in 3 weeks is great! Keep it up (or down as the case may be) girl!

Es, mi amiga - what's up girl? I bet Pete would go see "My Big Fat Puerto Rican Wedding"

Terry - Did you watch ER from last week yet? I know you mentioned you taped it. I'm not saying anything cause I don't know if you saw it yet, but, OMG, what a shocker a certain part was, good lord, I had to cover my eyes! Let me know if you saw it.

Jen - Leaving for the Ozarks???!!! I really sucked at social studies and geography - where are the Ozarks??? In the south? Sounds like your'e going to the "Twilight Zone" Well, whereever they are, I hope you have a great time! Happy belated birthday to Brandon - it was my grandson Michael's birthday that weekend too and guess where he had it - yep - Chuckie Cheese!

Hi Janie - Glad you and Ellen enjoyed your girls night out - soooooo cool.

Hey Ruth and Sandy - good to hear from you guys. Hang in there with us, whether you're on program or not. It doesn't matter to us.

Well, I better get my butt off this machine, my show (NYPD Blue) starts in 3 mins.

I'll try to get back here tomorrow - talk to yous soon.

Dianne,
I SURE DID see ER.
OMG!!!!!!!!!
We screamed. That was a shocker for sure. Bruce was due home about half way through and I called him on his cell and told him not to come in and watch the end with us. I told him to wait until it was over and then watch the tape. We all went in and sat and watched him watch that part so we could see his reaction. Bruce watches NYPD Blue. Brittany likes the new partner. He was the Saved By The Bell guy.

Ruth,
Good thing you got out of that bed. Pretty scary stuff.
Good luck with your classes. Sounds like you are doing well.

Bruce called just as I was getting dinner ready last night and he said he got 2 step increases at his job. That means a raise so he wanted to celebrate by going out to a nice dinner. He told me it was up to me. How could I say no? LOL He picked The Outback. We never ever do that on a week night. Something told me not to eat lunch.
I went over by 3.5. I ate 1/2 of the big things. If I knew each grilled shrimp was 3 points I wouldn't have eaten them but they were good. I will eat the rest for lunch today. It was soooo good.

Hi Jen, Es, Zoe, JanieD and Sandy. Hope I didn't miss anyone.:o

Terri,
You did tell us that you had scoliosis, I'd forgotten. Going to a chiropractor couldn't hurt, right? It may give you some relief from the pain.
Now I'm dying to watch that episode of ER! Joe taped it for me, but I haven't watched it yet

Ruth,
Managerial acctg. is the course I'm taking also. At least I got a D, 18 out of 33 students failed the first exam. I'm pretty much decided to withdraw, am waiting to see if a labor dispute at the college results in the teachers striking...if so, all credit classes will be cancelled and we'll receive tuition refunds (pro-rated, of course). I wouldn't have the guilt over wasting the money then. Good luck this semester, you have a full load again!

Dianne,
My sister bought a home in Arkansas, which is where the Ozark Mountains are....not as far south as Terri is, but definitely south of us. It may very well be the Twilight Zone that we're getting ourselves into; my sister lives in a town of only 800 people! I'm looking forward to seeing her, and getting Joe away from work. Not to mention the wineries we'll be going to on the way home ;) ..apparently Missouri has quite a wine industry.

Janie,
Did you decide to have the biopsy done? It occurred to me that you haven't mentioned it. I hope all is well.

Jen,
I am having the proceedure on Friday Morning. Thanks for asking. I have been going through so much stuff lately that I haven't even been thinking about it. This past month has been horribly stressful. Still job searching, my parents and all of that baggage, Ellen starting at the new school, Steve got a new consulting project (on top of his full time teaching schedule), performance appraisal time at work, I'm in charge of the quilt raffle at my church (Would any of you like to buy a raffle ticket?), and of course my lump(s). They say the Lord doesn't give you more than you can handle but I have to say I'm getting close to my limit.

Es,
WI this morning and I gained .5 lb. I think after the surgery I will be able to get back OP 100% and hopefully get to my goal before the fatening holidays :tomato: :gift: :ink: :hat:

Zoe,
WTG girlfriend. Can you send some of that enthusiasm this way? I need some serious motivation. You are truely inspiring. Send me some of your :goodvibes:

Ruth,
Welcome back. We missed you!! Su espanol esta muy bien, amiga!!

Jen,
I am SO GLAD I didn't say anything about it. Watch it before tomorrow. :D
Yes. I guess it can't hurt. I knew it would hurt when I got older. The spine presses on nerves.
I picked up this newspaper insert called American Profile.
It was so timely. The HOMETOWN SPOTLIGHT article is called
A SCENIC RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT. It is about Highway 19
that runs through the Ozark Hills. The Current River and the Jacks Fork River . It also talks about Eminence, Mo. "The Canoe Capital of the World". Then thay talk about the Mark Twain Nat. Forest. www.eminence-mo.com . It looks so PEACEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great time. Is this anywhere near where you are going?

Good luck JanieD. I will be thinking of you on Friday.

THE GANG'S ALL HERE!!!!

Ruth, we missed you & Sandy. An A in spanish is not too shabby. I speak slang. Typical Bronx girl. Pete speaks fluently. Dave doesn't speak it at all. I'm to blame for that. I never spoke spanish when he was a baby, unless I really had to. Now I speak it alot at work. They always have me translating. Glad you're back. ;)

Terri, I don't watch ER but now I wish I had! Congrats to Bruce. I haven't been to The Outback yet. It's too crowded on weekends. The line is usually out the door. The shrimps you had must have been HUGE:eek: to be 3 pts. each!! As long as you enjoyed yourself that's what counts.

Janie, I'll be praying for you. You know you're going to be fine right? ;) You gained so little. Must be water. I always blame it on water retention. Once all this is over you'll have peace of mind.

Jen, I didn't know where the Ozarks were! Terri says it looks peaceful. Sounds like a place I would like to go to. Enjoy it.

Dianne, I missed you! Funny about Pete with the PR Wedding. It's terrible when you go on vacation & come back to a pile of work. I feel like it's a punishment. You too with the Chuckie Cheese. That place drives me nuts but the kids love it.

Gotta go. I bought myself a McDonald's chicken salad for dinner. Time to eat & watch soaps. I already did my cardio. 4 days in a row:D

Boy, I can't believe that's it goine to be Thursday tomorrow! This week has flown by. We are allowed to wear jeans to work tomorrow (and Friday, the usual jean day). Give $5 to breast cancer and wear jeans tomorrow.

Sandy ~Your attitude seems right on.....hope you got back on track now. I think once I passed by day #8 or so, it got easier.
Good luck!! Be strong.

Terri ~ Hope your back is feeling better. I've never been to a chiropractor myself but I know quite a few who have and swear by them. My daughter Jenna was "watched" as a child, for scoliosis but it never developed into anything major.

Jen ~ have a great trip to the Ozarks! It should be gorgeous there now with the leaves starting to turn.

Janie ~ I'm sendin' ya some of my :goodvibes: Right acha!!

Ruth ~ wow, an A so far. You're doing great. Be proud girl......I wish I could go back to school.

Es ~ I can't stop thinking about Chinese food.....UGH! I may have to have some this weekend.....what is the best choice for WW??

Dianne!!! ~ so glad to see you girl! We get so busy after a vacation, so much to do to get back into a routine. We're going on a cruise in February, for Valentines Day week.

Have a great evening everyone....

Buenos tardes,

ES, I've always wanted to speak Spanish. I have some hispanic background. Some of my ancestors were part of the Spanish and Mexican people that settled in Texas traveling between San Antonio and Los Adaes. The location of Los Adaes is actally in Louisiana, but at the time it was the first Spanish capital of Texas. Unfortunately, most of my ancestors will only recognize the American Indian bloodlines, they refuse to acknowledge the Spanish and/or Mexican heritage. My mother's grandparents could speak some Spanish, but they didn't teach their children, so that part of our heritage has been erased. So, I'm trying to learn the language, I doubt that I'll ever be fluent, with proper Spanish or slang!!

JANIE, I didn't realize you spoke Spanish also. If I ever learn to form sentences proplerly, maybe you and Es can help me practice!!

How is everyone else? It's been a long week, I'm so glad it is winding down. Talk to you girls later, right now I'm going to get some housework out of the way.

DIANE, I didn't realize you spoke Spanish, too. Of course, I'm having to look up the words. Okay, I think you offered to help me if I need it, is that right. LOL and if so.... Muchas gracias.

ZOE, Living in Texas, yes you do!!! Although I can't really form sentences yet, it is really exciting when I hear a word on TV and I actually know what it means!!!

JEN, have you been to the Ozarks before? You will love them. They are beautiful in the fall when the leaves start changing colors!!

My thoughts are with you!

Chicle en la bassura. Spelling is probably wrong. I remember this because this is the first thing my spanish teacher said in the morning.

Zoe,
Thanks for the kind words. Glad Jenna didin't have it.

Es,
I think the shrimp had oil or butter in it cause it was definitely not dry. They were good.

Bruce and I are going to see Red Dragon tonight. We got tickets from Fandango. It looks so good.

Hi girls,

Hey, I understood the message Dianne sent! LOL I took 4 years of Spanish in high school, taught by a nun who refused to speak a word of English during class. She renamed each of us, translating our names to Spanish, and called us those names from then on....I was Juanita.

A new thread will need to be started soon....don't forget this is #129.

I don't know if I'll be back here today or not. We're leaving tomorrow morning at 4 a.m. I'll most likely use my sister's computer at least once to check in and say hi during the week. We'll return home on Thursday.

I'm not sure about the spelling. I can hardly read it or write it!
I want to see Red Gragon too. My kind of movie.

Buenas noches,

I have really enjoyed reading your post. It would be wonderful if we were close enough to visit. Maybe someday we can meet in a neutral location.

I am so glad this week is over. I had two test this week, I made a low B on the Business Law and a high C on the Spanish test. Dang "ser" and "estar" verbs did me in!!! I bet I have them down before the weekend is over. LOL

Our fall break is next weekend, I will be so glad, four days to CLEAN HOUSE!! Aren't I an exciting woman or what?

ZOE, I think I forgot to congratulate you on the pounds lost. Keep up the good work.
