Default Muscle Weakness

Has anyone experienced muscle weakness on MRC? I am on day 3 of program, started first phase 4/23/10, and the last couple days my muscles feel funny, the best I can describe it is weak.

How many protein drinks are you having per day? Also, are you weighing your food?

My assumption is that either your not getting enough protein (you're drinking less HNS then you should be or you're eating less protein than you should be) or that you're having a little potassium deficiency.

If you're not drinking enough HNS, do so. If you're not weighing your protein, you're likely not getting enough. You can buy potassium at the store and it's really inexpensive; that happens and it causes muscle ache. Also, they have a product that was called liquid minerals (it's not liquid anymore, but if you tell them that, they'll know what it is) and it helps a lot with muscle ache too.

I do weigh my protein. I get 4oz of chicken or fish. I just started the HNS Monday and have been drinking 3 a day.
Could it be caffiene withdrawal? I am not completly off of it yet because I was drinking soooo much, but have backed it down amost in half the last couple days.

you actually might be feeling the beginning of ketosis - which is a good thing. here's a link that includes some symptoms of ketosis - day three is just about exactly when you'd expect it to start and weakness is common symptom:

another-- you do realize its 4 ozs COOKED protein, not raw..... which makes a big difference, calorically speaking......
4 oz raw chicken is 110 cals (approx) but 4 oz COOKED chicken is approx 180 cals ( i think)

When i first started the plan, I felt weak for a couple days. I never associated it specifically with my muscles per say, but i definitely had less energy. The feeling went away after about a week when my body got used to the plan. Might be the same for you.

Good observation Mary. When I began at 243, I was getting 6 oz of protein, but after getting to 200, it went to 4 oz. Could be onto something!

Because of physical limitations, they went ahead and put me on the green meta-slim. We tried the Hypoglycemic one where u eat 6 small meals a day, but that was 2 time consuming for me. I don't think I could eat any more total volume.

I wonder if I ate less protein at the meal time and only ate protein in between meal time, I could get more in then, but I thought it was about the combination of foods as well. What do you think?

Yes, from all I understand, I believe the right combination of food in the proportions specified are the best option. This is what worked for me, anyway, so I don't care to mess with the proven plan.
