I weighed in this morning and saw 207 on my scale.
That is down from 295 on June 19th, 2009, the day I decided to change my life forever.
Here are a few other things that have changed since then:
Measurements-- 50" waist down to 35", resting BP from 130s/80s to 120s/70s. Resting heart rate from high 80s to 50s.
Clothing size-- from Walmart 4x tops and 26 bottoms to Misses XL and 18, both of which are getting baggy.
Fitness-- from couch potato who fatigued while walking up hills or standing for prolonged periods to a runner who completed C25k and has a current running record of 37 minutes straight with a five day a week gym habit (my DH told me yesterday that I have "the legs of a soccer player...")
Intangibles-- I was so heavy that I broke a toilet seat not once but twice, I rode on an airplane with the seat belt unbuckled because I was too embarrassed to ask for an extender. Yesterday, I was in a very tense work-related meeting and I spoke up very strongly-- in the past, I used to feel that my skills and education were compromised by my unprofessional appearance.(Some morbidly obese people look wonderfully put together but was not one of those...) I am 48 years old and I feel strong, confident, healthy, and POWERFUL.
I'm not done yet-- but I still want to pause to celebrate.
